Speaker 1 (00:00):
John Schmeilk, everybody, how many times do we have to
do this? A third straight loss? For the third straight
loss for the Giants. Schmel host the postgame show. How
how bad was it last night?

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Yeah? Not good, because, guys, look, this is another situation
where the team was right in the game. They had
every opportunity to win. A lot of it was self
inflicted wounds and they couldn't figure out a way to
come up with a with a w at the end.
Then you know people are gonna pointed the Daniel Jones
pick on the final drive a strip sack, and yeah,
those are big plays. You can't have that turnover at
the end. It's bad plays. But you know they had

(00:30):
so many. They had eleven penalties in this game, guys,
and they have penalties take touchdowns off the board early
in the game. Yep, they might never have been in
that situation. So a lot of self inflicted wounds and
just sloppy play.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
What was that Daniel Jones pissed off on the two
point conversion?

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Yeah, because that was a play they set up where
you get a good formation, you want to stat the
ball quickly, you have a chance to take advantage of
how the Steelers are lined up in formation and the
other teammates did not get set quick enough, so we
snatched the ball. The offensive lineman out there looking the
block an't ready, and the whole play gets blown up
because the guys aren't ready to go when they need

(01:05):
to be.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Well, the Mets didn't win. Start there, The Jets suck.
The Giants lost. Daniel Jones twenty four of thirty eight
two sixty four. You mentioned that interception one hundred and
forty five yards on the ground for Tracy, so it
was it was penalties and defense. Are we blaming any
of this on the offense?

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Oh? No, certainly it's on the offense. I mean, once again,
they only scored eighteen points. I mean, eventually, you're gonna
have to score twenty points if you're gonna win a game.
At some point. They drove down the field a bunch
in the first half, and they stunk in the red
zone a one drive. They had four different penalties on
the drive. They scored a touchdown on their second drive
of the game. It got called back because of a

(01:44):
penalty because the myligue Neighbors was lackadaisical going into a
shift in motion and didn't get set before the snap.
You know, it's a little things like that that killed
them absolutely all game. And yeah, the offense and the
deeps give a four into yards, then they gave up
a seventy yard partner return for a touchdown. So every
aspect of the team I've had a big hand in

(02:07):
this loss.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Where is the corner cutting?

Speaker 2 (02:09):
I feel like it's a lot of corner cutting. Are
we corner cutting? No? I think it's well, it's a
little good sloppiness. And then after the game, we heard
from Dexter Lawrence, we heard from Brian Burns. Just the
focus playing play out guys, not making silly mistakes. Look
the Giants right now, on it's personal basis, no one's
played more younger players this year. The Giants are the
youngest team in the league based on the amount of

(02:30):
snaps they've played this year. And when you play young guys,
you're gonna have silly mistakes and things like that. And
that's what killed them last night.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
I mean, is it a generational thing. You got Anthony
Richardson tapping out of the game to get a breather
after he scrambled and ran.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
You've got tired after a twelve yard run.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Are you kidding me?

Speaker 1 (02:47):
You've got Jalen Polkland Patriots Sandy. He's got hands on
That's kind of what I was getting. He's got hands
of gold when he's dropped so many passes. You've got
the guy for the Bears taunting the crowd. Yeah during
the hell man? Is it a generational thing? That's makes
it sound old? Doesn't it?

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Nobody look at it. I mean, I think every generation
you have dopey young players that make silly mistakes and
and do things like that. I don't know if we
want to sound like the old guys shouting from our lawn,
but there are some issues I think with with this
particular generation in terms of like handling adversity and dealing
with failure and even victory in some ways, and handling

(03:26):
those things correctly. Look when when you when when you
have a young team, you're gonna make mistakes and you're
and you're gonna do silly things. So, I mean, it
is what it is. It's very frustrating.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
I will say that you can hear the frustration in
your voice. Smug Where are the Where did the Giants
go from? Here?

Speaker 2 (03:45):
They host the Commanders next weekend. So right now, there
are four games in the lost colm at a first
place four games overall, four games out of the Eagles
two and second place three and a half overall division.
So look, you have to look, you have to win
this game now. And I've been saying this every week.
It's officially lay fast now, guys, Like, right now, you
have to make up four games over the final nine,

(04:07):
and you probably don't have the tiebreaker either, so it's
making up five games over your final nine. That's a
huge ask and this team has not shown the ability
to do that. So you have to figure things out, man,
I mean you have to. And and the players tended
even more first shad than I do. After the game,
apparently Gray Band wrote in one of their veteran offensive
linemen had an emotional speech to the team after the game.

(04:28):
Dexter Lawrence and Brian Burns talked about it too. Deontay
Banks got benched in the first half of this game
after a couple of plays. I guess the coaching staff
wasn't happy about. So not a whole lot good going
on around here right now, guys.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
I want to change topics of the Jets, But is
the locker room being lost by the coaching staff.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
No, I don't think so. The players are still engaged
in the players have gone out of the way and look,
the coaches are putting us in a position to win
and we're not executing. So I think the players are
very down on themselves right now.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
The rumor. Briefly yesterday I was listening to the fan
the Jets misery is beautiful. The only thing that'll make
one of the guys watching the fans they bring Rex
Ryan back. What do you think of that? John?

Speaker 2 (05:07):
Wait, who's bringing Rex Ryan back?

Speaker 1 (05:09):
No, the guy on the fancy The only way I'll
watch the team the Jets play again this season is
if the Jets bring Rex Ryan back.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Got to say, don't think that's the answer. Not all
they look at.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
Here's the problem. I think they went all in on
a quarterback that doesn't necessarily have it anymore. And I
understand why they did it. I probably would have done
it too if I were them. They're desperate for a title.
They had a really good defense and they just threw
their hell mary to try to figure it out. It
hasn't worked. It's a combination of Rodgers, is that and

(05:44):
the way.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
The offense is designed because of Aaron Rodgers. The defense
isn't as dominant they thought it would be either. So
put all those things together and it's it's just at
least the Giants have some really good young players with
a futures to look forward to.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
Trumpet, I'm not sure what I can give Jets fans.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
I mean, they have Breswall and Garret Wilson. Those guys
are really good. They have some young offensive lineman I guess,
but it's uh, it's not. It's not a great situation
there either.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
And they play Halloween Night. They the Texans on them
Halloween Night could see another message?

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Do they really?

Speaker 1 (06:18):
I don't even realize the Halloween massive Are we Okay,
it's not, it's not our choice, but are you? How
do you feel about the rumor the Gaselle Bunching is
pregnant and it's not, And it's not Tom Brady's.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
We know whose it is.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
It's her jiu jitsu boyfriends.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
Yeah, have long term yeah, long term? Yeah, I'm well yeah,
long term. Well I guess then I guess Tom better
watch is nothing if this is something like jiu Jitsu Champion, right,
I mean, I mean I think that could be trouble.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
In twenty twenty four, this is the one topic three
guys in the radio kid talking about whether or not
she should be bread. Well, well, do you think she
should be pregnant? John? I also think do you think
she She must have told it before it got out,
right before it got out?

Speaker 3 (07:02):
Sure, now you don't want to talk about it.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
I'm sure she.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Wrote me in like that.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
John's busy. I got stuff to do.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
John, all right?

Speaker 3 (07:13):
Yes, whoa man got? You guys are hilarious.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
I got nothing.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
That was a little night, guys. I got nothing else.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
For you, bro.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
I mean, how bad the Yankees? More than seven three games?
My gosh.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
So you won't throw the bunch in topic around the
office today like.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
I thought her.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
We're talking about it.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
I wasn't a bunch of top just blown up to me.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
She's pregg out? Okay? So no, real quickly, here's my theory.
They're not married, are they? The comeback on the comeback
on Netflix is crushing it. That's the anniversary twenty years
ago of the Red Sox winning four straight against the Yankees.
It is it possible we have a reverse Jinx and
the up and the Yankees pull off to come back

(07:56):
to celebrate the anniversary. Is it possible?

Speaker 2 (07:58):
I like how you turn that around. It's like, all right,
schmuke' suppressed and cranky this morning, let's.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
Talk about the two thousand and four Yankees.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
Quote a three nothing league.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
Great idea, but maybe maybe.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
It goes full circle.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Yeah he's looking for maybe.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
I mean, you know, I mean, who knows. All you
can do is win one game at a time. It's
so cliche. I hate to say it, but that's really
all you can do, right.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
Try to figure out a way to do it when
one game at a time and move on from there.
And you know they have to hit dude, seven.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
Runs in three games, and four of which came in
these ninth innings when the games were already kind of
out of reach. That's not going to do it well.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
To quote the world champion Boston Red Sox from twenty
years ago, shut up, cow boy up, you idiots. Oh
my god, you're a boy up. You can do it,
Josh Milk, everybody body
