Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's Quinny Cantara picks one of six Tony Kahn.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Awesome Tony with Quinn and can Tira. Welcome Tony, Hey,
thanks for having me on today.
Speaker 1 (00:08):
It's our pleasure. I mean, my god, You've got all
kinds of things we want to talk to you about.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
So you're the CEO GM, head of creative for All
Elite Wrestling. They've got a big live event coming up
from Pittsburgh. But you also do you have a hand
in your dad's football team, the Jaguars Two?
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Absolutely, Yeah, I'm the Chief Football Strategy Officer of the
Jaguars and working on sports statistics and analytics. Love football
and I love wrestling.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
You have a soccer team too, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
I'm the general manager of Fulham Football Club in the UK.
We're London's original football team. And also also a great start.
This is Fullham Football Club's best start to a season ever.
We've equaled the best point total we've ever had through
the first six games and really excited about that. So
a lot of great things happening there in London. And
(00:56):
we were just in London pretty recently for aw All
ELI Gressline. We had an amazing show, maybe our best
show ever. In London at Wembley Stadium and excited to
come back and celebrate the five year anniversary of AW.
Coming up Wednesday Night, the fifth anniversary show coming up
on TBS at eight pm. It'll be five years to
(01:19):
the day. In the first ever episode of Wednesday Night, Dynamite, Congratulations,
big milestone.
Speaker 4 (01:24):
Coming up Wednesday, it's Tony Kahan here from AW. It
says here at AW place number three and Forbes's most
valuable Combat sports promotions for twenty twenty four.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Who you behind? That's amazing man. Congrats, Well, we're.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Doing really well. Thank you. And we've really grown a
lot in the last five years and become not only
a very valuable promotion, but also just really having a
lot of fun and built fans, built viewership all over
the world. Now aw's on in one hundred and fifty
(01:59):
different countries all over the planet, and wrestling is just
really a universal language. There's wrestling fans everywhere. We've been
able to grow this revolution and it's something really really cool,
and that's why I think we're all so excited to
celebrate the fifth anniversary show coming up this Wednesday.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
Yeah, it's gonna be on. It's gonna be on TBS
and you're actually AW is coming to Albany November fourteenth.
I just have to ask you, Sally, you're a busy guy,
but I mean, did you have you seen any of
the McMahon documentary and Netflix and and your impressions of him.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
No, I've been so busy with football and wrestling. I
have not seen that documentary. I've not gotten to watch that.
But uh, you know, really mostly focused here on what
we're doing in AW. I do love watching wrestling all
over the world.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
And just from a just Tony, just from a business perspective,
like you have the same title that I think, you know,
I think it's just really interesting. He was awfully cutthroat
and he and he made a lot of enemies on
his way, but he did a lot for wrestling. You
have to give him that.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Yeah, I've never met him and I've never really worked
with him, but have really grown up as a wrestling
fan and a historian of the pro wrestling business. So absolutely,
you know, we love being the challenger promotion and trying
to grow and build AW from the ground up. You know,
it's only been five years. We've been around and done
(03:21):
a lot in that time.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
All right, we promoted it, we brought it this a
lot and we love we love you. But I gotta
get down to it.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
Man.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
What's it like growing up like? Growing up? Like growing
up a billionaire? What's that like?
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Jelly?
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Well, I did not grow up as a billionaire. My
dad at the time was building a small business. And
it's amazing how quickly he was able to grow it.
You know, he came over here from Pakistan, really was
not a lot to his name, and he went to
the University of Illinois and that's where he met my mom.
Built an autoparts business in Illinois and expanded it into Indiana, Michigan.
(03:54):
And it's amazing how quickly it grew from just a
couple of factories when I was a kid. He built
from scratch and uh, he has worked so hard. Wow.
And then he got into the football business, uh, you know,
just about twelve years ago. And aw, now we've been
doing this for five years. But it's amazing. And really
(04:15):
he built it all from the ground up, So I
didn't necessarily grow up that way. And my dad really
built these things from scratch, and it was amazing to watch.
He's he's an amazing success story and kind of embodied.
I think.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
I love hearing stuff like that.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
Love Yeah, it really, I mean it really is. And
then there and then I just got to ask you
what we have you here? And and of course a
w their their Wednesday night event eight o'clock TBS. But
there's this rumor going around. I don't want to get
you any tampering charges that Belichick might might be sliding
into that Jaguar spot head coaching spot next season. You
(04:51):
want to weigh in on that, Tony, No, but I would.
It's the Internet.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
I would like to talk about aw absolutely and and
and always happy to talk about football too, but not that,
but but I would. But it's definitely a big week
for us. Like you know, five year anniversaries don't come
along often.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
We totally get we congratulations and and you know, if
you can grow it like other people have grown this
kind of sport, then you're going to be just as
successful as your father.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
My friend.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
Well, we appreciate your time and we'll look forward to
we'll talk again before you guys come to town in November.
If that's cool.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
I would love that. Yeah, we're coming to town for
a w wrestling in November. It really always fun when
we come to Albany. You guys are such great fans.
We love being up there, so yeah, absolutely, we'll be
back for AW in November. I'd love to come see
you guys.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
All right, good luck out there man, We'll watch you
Wednesday night.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
God bless you guys. Thanks for having me up.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
It's Quinny Cantara picks one on six Tony Con from
the AW
