(00:00):
All right, Star family, weare super excited for this. We would
like to welcome to the show DannyWood from the New Kids on the Block.
Danny, how you doing, man? I'm great. How are you?
I am? I'm much better now. I think this is absolutely awesome.
We've got a lot going on.Today is New Kids on the Block
Day, Wednesday, April twenty fourth, and this has been going down for

(00:23):
thirty five years. Danny. Yeah. I guess over the past like fifteen
years, the fans have really embracedall the blockheads out there. They've embraced
this day and kind of they've ledthe way that they want this to be
like an official holiday for them.So we've embraced it and embraced all the
nostalgia around it and just celebrate itwith them. That's odd. I love

(00:45):
that it kicked off in nineteen eightynine. And I gotta tell you,
man, some of my earliest memoriesis being on a school bus in Camden,
New Jersey, and there was alittle girl on my bus that had
a boombox built into her her backand it was new because of the block
of the bus every single morning, full volume. I love it. That's
pretty cool, man. That thatwasn't any of our merch. She must

(01:07):
have made that herself. Well we'regoing after her. We need them royalties.
I became a blockhead when you guyscame to town. You performed in
Greenville a couple of years ago withTiffany, and I was just floored.
You know, I'm in my thirties, so I got a chance to kind
of grow up with you guys. But then just seeing you guys live and
in person is electric. You guysgot it going on, and I can't

(01:29):
wait to see you guys again.Well, thank you. We take a
lot of pride in putting these tourstogether and really trying to outdo whatever we
did the last time. So there'sa lot of planning that goes into We've
been planning this tour for like ayear and a half. So I'm just
excited that you guys will finally getto see it on July twenty seventh.
Now, you guys got new music. You got a new album, drop
it on May seventeenth, and todayit just hit a brand new single,

(01:52):
a love like this. Congratulations,Well, thank you. We're really proud
of the record. Donnie and Joeand the group wrote a lot of the
songs on the record, so itwas really easy to get in the studio
or be at home and sing thesongs because they wrote them Taylor made for
us. So really proud of therecord and hopefully people enjoy it. On
May seventeen. It's called Still Kids, and like you said, it's out

(02:14):
on May seventeenth. Now, let'stalk about the tour, The Magic Summer
twenty twenty four tour with Paula Abduland DJ Jazzy Jeff. That is awesome.
Yeah, I'm really excited to betouring again with Paula Abdul. We've
toured with her a few years ago. DJ Jazzy Jeff, we did a
lot of shows back in the daywith him and Will Smith, so we're

(02:36):
excited to have him, you know, and reunite with him from back in
the day and bring off the nostalgia. Hey, man, like I said,
I'm from Camden, New Jersey. It was all about Will Smith and
DJ Jazzy Jeff over there the Phillyarea growing up. That's awesome. Let's
see. I want to let everyoneknow that there's a special deal going on
because it is New Kids on theBlock day. We're celebrating that they've got

(02:58):
magic four packs four packs of ticketsfor eighty nine dollars plus fees, and
that's on sale at n KOTB dotcom and Live nation dot com. I
mean, that's that's pretty good wayto have a girl's night out right now,
what I'm saying, that's what I'msaying. Yeah, nice, nice
four pack for you and your girls. Come out and dance all night,
have a few drinks and maybe sweata little bit. Again. I want

(03:21):
you to thank you for taking thetime to be with us today, give
us an idea of what it's likeon on stage nowadays compared to back at
eighty nine. For me, it'sa bit easier. It's easier obviously when
you're grown up and you have learnedhow to appreciate these things. So for
me, it's pretty easy. Istay in shape, I take care of

(03:44):
myself. I eat healthy, sowhen the tours are coming up, I
just eat a little cleaner, youknow, work out a little harder,
and you know, get ready forit. But each guy does something different
to get ready for the tour.I would say we're more in the moment
this time around than we when wewere kids. It was so crazy back
then. We can really enjoy itthis time around. Well, I'm sure

(04:04):
the I'm sure the screaming ladies arestill there at the front of the stage
and then some because you got toremember I'm out there too. Okay,
Yeah, I love it. That'sawesome. Well, Danny Man, I
hope you guys have an amazing touragain. The stop is going to be
at PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte onJuly twenty seventh. And don't forget again
