Rep. Lauren Boebert (R, CO-4) joins Dan to discuss a recent hearing in which it was confirmed experiments were being authorized by Dr. Anthony Fauci's NIH (NIAID - National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases) using fetal tissue purchased from universities on animals.

Also, Rep. Boebert recently sent a letter to Department of Energy Secretary Chris Wright with the subject headline: 'Urgent Opposition to NIETC Designation in Colorado.' This action by the Biden administration would commandeer nearly 2.5 million acres of private property in New Mexico and Colorado, using eminent domain, to comply with the Left's 'Green New Deal' agenda.

Rep. Ty Winter (R-47), assistant House minority leader in the Colorado General Assembly, joins Dan with an update on the Democrats' magazine ban bill for semiautomatic weapons and other developments in the current legislative session.

George Brauchler, district attorney for Colorado's 23rd judicial district, joins Dan to discuss Saturday's shooting at Main Event in Highlands Ranch. The suspect (Nevaeha Crowley-Sanders, 23) was apprehended and held over for bond in court on Monday.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Dan Caplis and welcome to today's online podcast
edition of The Dan Caplis Show. Please be sure to
give us a five star rating if you'd be so kind,
and to subscribe, download and listen to the show every
single day on your favorite podcast platform. And I understand
we've had this conversation a lot, so many people suspicious
believing that the Democratic Party has been actively encouraging illegal

(00:24):
immigrants to vote. And of course, as we've all recognized,
this insane, nationally suicidal policy of the Democrats of opening
the southern border wide and allowing everybody in has been
driven by their desire to get those folks to vote.
And then, you know, the one argument is, well, sure,
that's their plan, and it's crazy and it does such

(00:46):
horrible things to this country just because this country a
can't handle the volumes, and along with the good people
coming in illegally are some awful, awful criminals.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Right.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
But then some argue, well, the Democrats eventual plan to
legalize those people and then have them be able to vote.
But there is also this belief that the Democrats are
at the very least hoping that many people here illegally
now actually do vote or are actively encouraging that. Well,

(01:17):
the Shocker today, The Shocker today, And if you have
not seen it, you need to go to my Twitter
account at Dan Caplis at dan Caplis on X and
go there and you will see the document. You will
see the document that I believe absolutely confirms that the
Democratic Party is actively encouraging people here illegally to vote.

(01:41):
I don't know what other conclusion you can draw after
looking at this document. And I'll tell you what the
document is, and you really do need to see it
for yourself. If you're driving, please don't try to look
it up. I know you already know that, but I
wanted to say it. I'll tell you what this document is.
This document is called a from a bill called the

(02:01):
Protecting Sensitive Locations Act. This is a bill being actively
sponsored by John Hickenlooper, who is up for reelection in
Colorado right now in this twenty six cycle, and by
Michael Bennett. So you've got Hickenlooper and Bennett sponsor actively
supporting a bill which protects illegal immigrants when they're at

(02:27):
a polling place. This bill prohibits ice from detaining or
arresting illegal immigrants when they're at the voting booths.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
They're not supposed to vote. They're not supposed to be voting.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Could this make it any clearer that the Democrats, including
Hickenlooper and Bennett, are so actively encouraging illegal immigrants to
vote they want to pass a bill that says ICE
can't detain illegal immigrants when they're at a polling place,
ICE can't arrest illegal immigrants when they're at a polling place,

(03:06):
and that ICE can't arrest or detain illegal immigrants when
they're within three football fields of a polling place.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Am I missing something?

Speaker 1 (03:17):
What other reason would there be for Bennett and Hicckelooper
and the rest of the Dems to pursue this bill
other than wanting to be able to guarantee folks here illegally. Hey,
don't worry, You'll be able to go and vote without
any fear of ICE picking you up at the polling place.
And think about it, what Bennett and Hickeelooper and the

(03:38):
rest of these Dems are saying to folks here illegally
is the safest place you can be is at the
ballot box. Yeah, you're not legally eligible to vote, but
the safest place you can be is at the ballot
box because ICE can't pick you up there if their
bill is passed. Wow, So you've got to see it

(04:00):
for yourself, and please send it to all your friends.
Everybody needs to see this. This isn't a matter you
know this is. It's in black and white. It's right
in front of you, and you can say I was
just Ryan. I went in this morning and prepping for
the show. I get in to the officer early to
do my show prep and I see Colorado Politics story
about Hick and Loper and Bennett supporting this quote Protecting

(04:23):
Sensitive Locations Act, and it's meant to What it's really
meant to do is prevent ICE from picking up illegal
immigrants almost anywhere because they have so many different locations.
And the headline that they're using to try to push
it is churches, churches and schools. Yeah, we've got to
protect people when they're in and schools. So I actually

(04:46):
read this stuff. So I sit down to read this bill,
and as you'll see, if you go to ed Dan
Caplis on Twitter, you can see the page. So I'm
really getting worked up as I go through this bill
because it's so awful and it's so wrong, and it's
so dangerous for America.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
And so misleading. But I know, I've been.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
A lawyer for forty years. I'm trained to read things
to the end. So I keep reading, and then I
get to page seventeen.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Of the bill, and then what do I find.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
As a sensitive location where ICE is is not allowed
to pick up these illegal immigrants except under the most
extraordinary circumstances. Quote a polling place, including any building or
infrastructure where voting takes place during an election. So why

(05:35):
in the world would Bennett and Hickenlooper and the Dems
want to do that other than to make sure illegal
immigrants vote. Yeah, I think the mask has been dropped.
I think they're busted. I think this should be a
major issue, if if not the lead issue in the
upcoming US Senate race in Colorado. John Hickenlooper cannot justify

(05:59):
this wanting to protect illegals when they're at a polling place. Yeah,
And this is a real threat to America. I mean,
at the point where we have the Democratic Party actively,
implicitly whatever word you want to use, not only encouraging
people here illegally to vote, but trying to legally protect

(06:22):
them while they do Hey, one of the safest places
you can be in America if you don't want ice.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
To touch you is go off and vote.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
Yeah, at that point, I don't know how any American
would end up voting for one.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Of these people.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
And that's not anti anybody south of the border. The
point is you've got to be You've got to be
an American citizen to vote. And the plane of the
Democrats is so crystal clear right now. Eight five to
five or zero five e two five five the number
so much. Coming up on today's show will certainly follow
up on that again. You can see the actual bill
itself at dan Caplis on Twitter, and please send it

(06:59):
to everybody, do you know, because people need to understand
who John Hicketleburn and Michael Bennett really are. They're both
nice guys, and I have been around Bennett, but he
seems like a nice guy, and his policies aren't so nice, right.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
His policies hurt.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
A lot of innocent people and take a lot of
innocent human life, But in person he seems to be
a nice guy. John Hickeleoper, I know, is a fun
guy in person. I've hung out with him a bit
at different charity things, etc.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Always enjoy being around him.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
But again, his policies are the opposite of nice, very
vicious in terms of the way they They harm and
even lead to the death of so many different humans.
But people need to know the truth about these guys.
They're trying to pass a bill to make it easier
for illegals to vote in this country by saying ice

(07:47):
can't touch them when they're in the polling place. People
need to know that, so please get it and circulate it.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
All right, we got a crew today.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
Congressoman Bober joins us at four thirty six, looking, oh
for twenty one.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
Thank you, Ryan, that's wonderful. I was so looking forward
to that.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
Now I only have to wait a few minutes for
twenty one, which according to my math is about nine
minutes away, so she will join us. Then we look
forward to that and a very very important story about
how a Fauci funded group was then using baby parts
human baby parts to implant in animals. They like to

(08:25):
call it quote fetal tissue. I think if they cut
you up and then you know, put some of you
in animals, you wouldn't think of it as is Ryan
tissue or Bob tissue. You think, you know, it's not
fetal tissue.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
It's me.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
They're cutting me up and they're putting me into animals.
So she did some very effective questioning on that, and
she will join us then at four twenty one George
Brockler is going to join us.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
Also. I enjoyed Ryan does a.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
Great show two to four in the Denver market six
thirty kitsch a W I was listening to that on
my way in today, and this very disturbing story out
of Douglas County, which really is just such a wonderful place,
and this dual shooting on Saturday night. George will join
us to talk about that. They were getting into in
the story, the issue of security. You know, these large

(09:16):
businesses that have a lot of people, and are they
under any legal obligation of security? The answer is no,
But civilly do they face civiliability if they don't, and
just should they as good citizens?

Speaker 2 (09:27):
But also what's going on? What's going on?

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Because you do not think of these things happening in
Douglas County. They shouldn't happen anywhere, right, But George will
be with us to talk about.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
That later in the show.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
Our friend Jimmy Singenberger joins us to tell me I'm wrong,
and we always appreciate that.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
Have we sent the limo for him?

Speaker 4 (09:45):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (09:45):
Yes, Son's way.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
Okay, good, good, and yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
So as I said yesterday, okay, I'm supporting the King
Super Strike at great personal expense because this Peanut butter
a meeting right now is garbage. My favorite Peanut Butter
is at King Supers but I told her, Hey, if
you think I'm wrong on this, please tell me call
the show whatever. I'm open to that possibility. Jimmy Sangenberger
thinks I'm wrong, and he wrote a piece on it.

(10:09):
So Jimmy will join us later in the show to
talk about that. At five thirty six, to be most precise,
three oh three you said one, three eight, two five
five the number you're on the Dan Capla.

Speaker 5 (10:19):
Show and now back to the Dan Kaplass Show podcast.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
Or she's a warrior.

Speaker 6 (10:28):
I think the NIH probably should change their acronym to
FOD Faces of Death. This very much sounds like a
show that my mother would not let me watch as
a child, And you know, just hearing how egregious this is.
There's many more things that I.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
Have listed here.

Speaker 6 (10:46):
Of course, we've heard of the beagles who were in
the mesh cages. I don't know if their vocal cords
were paralyzed.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Horrific.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
Let's go to the source, talk to Congressoman and Lauren
Bobert fighting the good fight as always, let's talk about
this nih business. Igsonan, Welcome back to the Dan Kapla.

Speaker 6 (11:01):
Show, and thanks so much for having me on. And
you know, this is a topic that my colleagues and
I have tried to get attention on and.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
To expose for years.

Speaker 6 (11:15):
Even when we found out about the beagles that were
just mentioned who had their vocal cords cut and they
were paralyzed so they wouldn't bark, but we're still fully alive,
and you know, they were being eaten by insects. Their
faces were I first brought attention to this and was
called a conspiracy theorist. And you know, we had late

(11:38):
night talk show hosts making fun of me for making
such an allegation. And here we are in a congressional
hearing room under oath with with folks confirming that this
is happening. And in fact, they even had three beagles
who were rescued from labs who were set to be
tested on.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
Oh, horrific.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
And I understand that you're onto now a use of
human body parts what they call quote fetal tissue, a
use of human body parts and some of these experience,
can you fill folks in?

Speaker 6 (12:13):
Yes, so, our witness said that about ninety percent of
the testing does include the use of this boordede fetal tissue. Now,
of course, if you go and look this up, you're
going to see that a lot of this is donated
to universities and labs for testing. But also we have

(12:36):
seen footage years ago of Planned Parenthood purchasing these fetal
tissues illegally, and unfortunately it was the reporters who ended
up getting in more trouble than anyone for that. But
this is just it was absolutely heartbreaking and just the

(12:57):
story with the animals, all of the story with the
animals and and what they undergo for these testings to
produce near to near nearly none to absolutely no results
even even in HIV and AIDS testings with monkeys. Uh,
the amount of stress that they undergo in these testings,

(13:19):
and our scientists were saying monkeys cannot contrapt AIDS. They
are unable to even get that virus, and so to
have them undergo all of this, all of these tests
is just very inhumane. And I'm grateful for Chairwoman Nancy

(13:40):
Mace for having the hearing and exposing a lot of this.
There was even much more that we we all didn't
get a chance to to cover. But you know, I mean,
there's there's at least six point five billion dollars in
NIADU money that has been wasted on these unethical, useless,
uh and abusive testing. And even one of the witnesses

(14:03):
said that all testing is probably mere a trillion dollars
in spending and uh and like I said, there the
treatments and cures for humans have that have come from
this cruel and abusive animal testing is zero. Uh So
it's very alarming. And of course Fauci admitted to to

(14:26):
my committee in the past that he personally signed off
on these and many other projects. And you know, I
believe that, uh, that these Fauci approved projects were not
a good use of taxpayer dollars.

Speaker 1 (14:41):
Congressoman Bobert our guest, and I agree with you that
listened to the extent that that this tissue is donated,
you know, then then that's a different category, but at
the same time you anticipated My other big question is, Okay,
all of this horrific torture of animals, uh has anything
just valuable to human come out of that? And I'm
not trying to say that that anything that's valuable to

(15:04):
humans would then justified torture of animals. I think we'd
have to look very closely at the facts of each
of those situations. But you're saying nothing worthwhileless come out.

Speaker 7 (15:13):
Of all of this awfulness, correct, Yes, and we're just
sending billions of taxpayer dollars to unaccountable labs in China
and other foreign countries, even funding that has gone to
Eco Health Alliance, and that was, you know, an organization
that was connected.

Speaker 6 (15:33):
With the Wuhan lab where the coronavirus came from, and
we had a world outbreak and a pandemic that truly
not only killed humans but certainly ended many livelihoods and
made it difficult for many to get by.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
But yeah, I mean they're.

Speaker 6 (15:53):
Doing everything from creating transgender lab animals, using hormone therapies
and invasive surgeries, so then of course course gain of
function research to make monkey poxes, monkey pocks coronaviruses and
other death deadly pathogens, more contagious and deadly to humans.
And uh, you know they're they're even they were even
infecting kittens with COVID and infecting these beagles and other

(16:17):
animals with with other with other insects and diseases.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
Congressoman, we're about out of time. Quick question. I understand
you've also been active regarding eminent domain issue and an
I E T C designation in Colorado may not be
time for all that here, but anything you want to
say on that, Yes.

Speaker 6 (16:40):
So this was a really important issue for me to
weigh in on. And this certainly affects southeast Colorado, uh,
including Backup Prowers County and Kiowa County, and this would
affect approximately three hundred and twenty five thousand acres. Neighboring
states have fought this at the state legislature, and I

(17:00):
have wrote a letter to our new Secretary of Energy,
Chris Wright, to get his input on this. For the
time being, I am asking those in Prowers back and
Kiowa County to get on and submit public comment, which
is set to end on Friday. I'm scheduled to speak

(17:21):
with Secretary Chris Wright tomorrow in person here in Washington,
d C. And I'm going to ask him, at the
very least for now to extend the public comment period.
We were successful in extending that public comment period in
Kansas and in Oklahoma, and I'm hoping that we could
do the same here in Colorado. But this is just
a massive private property overreach with little to no input

(17:44):
by the community. And it's just a part of the
very progressive administration that we are coming out of and
their green new energy scam.

Speaker 1 (17:53):
And we will follow that in more detail next time
we talk. Final thought is it? And I tweeted this
out page seven teen from this so called Protecting Sensitive
Locations Act, And with Michael Bennett now and John Hickenlooper
trying to make it illegal for ICE to apprehend I
legal immigrants and polling places, what could the possible justification

(18:16):
be for that?

Speaker 7 (18:18):
Well, first of all, Congressom, I'm sorry I violated radio
one oh one.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
I asked you that question as we have about fifteen
seconds left in the segment, so my apologies, and hopefully
we can.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
Discuss this more later. But it's outrageous.

Speaker 1 (18:34):
Yes, I would.

Speaker 6 (18:35):
Agree, and we're doing everything we can to secure elections
and be accountable to tax payer dollars.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
Wonderful, Thank you, Congressome and Lauren Bobert. Look forward to
the next conversation. George Brockler next on the Dan Capla Show.

Speaker 5 (18:49):
You're listening to the Dan Kaeplis Show podcast.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
When you get a chance to safely go to at
Dan Caplas on Twitter, you've got to pull and you've
got to circulate everybody. You know this bill I found
where hicken Looper and Bennett are trying to pass a
law that would say ICE cannot arrest or detain illegal
immigrants when they're in polling places.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
Obviously they can't legally vote.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
Can it be more clear that Democrats are trying to
encourage people here illegally to vote. They want to pass
a bill that says you cannot detain them when they're
in a polling place. So please take a look at that,
send it to your friends. George Brockler will join us
a bit later in the show to talk about this
very very disturbing double shooting out at the main event,

(19:38):
this big gathering place.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
You know they have arcade stuff and climbing ropes and
all this and that in Douglas County, Colorado. Let's go
to the VIP line.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
Welcome one of our favorite people, Assistant Minority Leader down
at the house.

Speaker 2 (19:50):
Ty Winter joins us. We'd wanted to.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
Follow up on the gun bill, which and more, but
I view the gun bill as blatantly unconstitutional.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
Ty, welcome back to the show. What's the latest on up.

Speaker 3 (20:02):
And sir, It's good to be on, my friend. It's
always good to be on your show. Thanks for having me.
I'm busy down here at the state Capitol. You know,
fighting as hard as we can for color Adams.

Speaker 1 (20:13):
You can always tell when somebody's in the Capitol because
you get that echo right in the background. It's it's
either they're calling from the moon or they're in the capital.
But but I know you're working awfully hard down there,
and it's against long odds. But where do you see
this gun bill ending up? And don't they don't they
see that A court is just going to put that

(20:34):
on hold immediately, But hopefully it never gets that.

Speaker 3 (20:36):
Far right to start and reverse. I don't think that
they really care what the courts to do. There's been
numerous times in the last couple of years where we've
looked at them and said, you're blatantly either going against
the Constitution or current statue, and they want to challenge
it as hard as they can. So when it comes
to that part of it, Dan, I think that they
just blow that off, which is unfortunate. But you know,
right now it's held up. It was moving through committee.

(20:59):
There was a huge amount testimony that came out, you know,
pro Second Amendment folks, you know, just here in swarms,
and all of a sudden, the bill gets tied up.
It was supposed to go to the Senate for last week,
and now you know, we're almost into a week of
it being held over. And I really think that and
this is just my take on it. The governor has
presidential aspirations and he wants to be able to leave

(21:21):
this state and be able to gain I think that
Second Amendment democrat, I guess peace of America. So I
think that he's playing games with this. And I mean,
I'm not going to say that I'm happy about it,
but I'm not going to say that if this is
the reason that this bill has to go down. I mean, however,
we get it done. We get it done.

Speaker 1 (21:39):
And Ty, now that we're talking about Paulis's presidential aspirations.
This is probably the right time for me to say
I have aspirations to be the quarterback for the Broncos
next year. So everybody who loves Bononix, please just prepare
yourself for a little bit of a shock.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (21:55):
I appreciate you, Dan, but I don't know if we're
going to see your name on the back of a
jersey anytime soon.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
I'm telling you it is far more likely I will
start against the Oakland Raiders in week four than it
will that Jared Polus is president.

Speaker 2 (22:06):
But I know that's in a side, but.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
Well could agree with you on that or one hundred.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
So it looks like the gun bill is in trouble,
which is good. What else should we have our eye on?

Speaker 3 (22:16):
You know, one thing I'm really excited about is on Thursday,
myself and Representative Alex Veldez in the House, Senator Listen
in the Senate, and Senate Roberts are running another nuclear
bill this year, and that's changing the definition of nuclear
from green energy to clean energy. And then it's working
on that piece, the taxing piece that we really took
a hit on in rural Colorado, especially gas and coal

(22:38):
producing counties. And you know what I'm up here to
do is this is one time two forces can unite.
You know, they want the nuclear energy for the clean air.
I love clean air too, but I want the nuclear
energy to back feel good, paying blue collar jobs that
have been taken out of my district. And you know,
on top of that, severance tacks to put back into
my road schools. That way, my county commissioners can keep

(23:00):
our communities beautiful. And the third most important thing is
to keep producing energy for urban Colorado like we have
for generations.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
Ty Winter, Assistant Minority Leader, our guests, and Ty, what
it sound a little bolder for a second.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
What's the vibe down there this year?

Speaker 1 (23:14):
Any sense that the Democrats are starting to realize that
that wait a second is starting to.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
Slip away from them a little bit.

Speaker 1 (23:21):
A lot of eyes have been open to how radical
the Dems nationally are, their pulling numbers are down here
in Colorado. Do you get any sense of any kind
of balance or is it just the same wild eyed
crazy We're going to steamroll everybody's stuff.

Speaker 3 (23:36):
That, Don't get me wrong. There's that subset of the
more pragmatic thinkers on that side that realize where this
is going. But I would say down the majority, No,
I mean, it's pedal to the metal, full speed ahead.
All we've heard here is is, you know, immigration and Trump,
they're basically just living with that in their head. I mean,
President Trump is living rent free and a lot of
the heads up here and it seems like they've doubled

(23:58):
down on a lot of things. So you know, sir,
I let them keep doing what they're doing. All I
can tell you is that the House Republicans are going
to keep showing up every day to make Caller out
of more affordable, safer, and a better place for Coloradin's
to live in the place that they deserve to live
in with policies that we bring forward.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
Well, and I know you're going to do that, but
you know, I opened the show today and it's just
so stunning. It shouldn't be to me. I was reading
this bill this morning. You know it's obviously in the Senate.
US Senate. I'm reading this bill and you got Hick
and Looper and Bennett both backing this bill, which would
make it illegal for ICE to detain illegal immigrants in

(24:35):
polling places. And I think, how did we ever get
to such a surreal place where Colorado's two US senators
would be trying to make it illegal for ICE to
apprehend an illegal immigrant in a polling place they're not
supposed to be voting. I mean, well, why are they
trying to send the message? Hey, the safest place you
can be if you're here illegally is at the ballot box.

Speaker 3 (24:58):
That's insane. And you know they're saying that quiet things
out loud. Not only are you hearing it from them,
we've heard it in the Capitol. I mean, we've heard
the governor and the Speaker McCluskey say that inflation is cooling,
which we all know that that isn't true. At the
Denver Metro business event the other morning, you had the
speaker say that fees are the way they circumvent tabor.

(25:18):
So they're saying the quiet things out loud, and I
think that has to do with the emboldened attitude that
you're talking about. But it's disheartening to me. I know,
on opening day when Minority Leader Piglisi gave her opening
day speech and when she ran for the Speaker of
the House, she looked across the oule at our colleagues
and said, you know, my father was an immigrant to
this country. We're a country of immigrants. But why would

(25:39):
you protect dangerous immigrants, the rapists and murders that were
out of either insane asylums or prisons south of the border.
And there's no answer to that, So you want to
it down. They just keep doubling down on things. But
at the end of the day, I think the Colorado
voter is taking a look at some of this stuff.
And you know what, I appreciate what we're doing here
in the House and what President Trump is doing is
just bringing common sense policies to the table and just

(26:01):
having common sense ideas. And I think unfortunately in politics
a lot of times we've made everything more complicated than
it should be. So, you know, I think we need
to go back to that old kiss model. Keep it simple, stupid,
and we will do better things for the people of
Colorado almost every other day of the week when we
do it that way. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:19):
Boy, to be interesting to see a poll on Trump
in Colorado right now. Where do you think his favorability
would come in in Colorado right now? I think it'll
be dramatically up.

Speaker 3 (26:28):
Oh I do too, sir. I mean, I'm not sure.
I don't want to be or misquote. I think today
I heard he has a seventy one point approval rating.
You know, I would think he's had to gain some
ground in this state, especially, you know with some of
the things that have happened recently. You know, the proof
that they have arrested Trenda Agua members in this state.
You know, the woman being stabbed on sixteenth Street Mall.

(26:49):
We just had a group in here talking with us
from our TV today and they're frustrated. They agree that
crime has been decriminalized in the state, and they want
legislation that's going to protect them and start holding these
criminals accountable for the things that they're seeing on public transit.
So you know, when you have members like that come
in to chat with you in the building. In my
first year, they really didn't have those conversations. So I

(27:11):
think that it's really helping and they're opening things up,
and I think people's eyes are opening, and we just
need to keep being the adults in the room, sir.
We need to keep being pramatic, pragmatic makers, and we
need to just keep showing up every day and showing
the people of Colorado that you know we're here to work.
There was a resolution introduced in the Senate about January sixth.
We have people suffering in Colorado and we're talking about

(27:33):
something five years ago. So let them just keep doing
their thing and we'll just keep doing ours.

Speaker 2 (27:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (27:37):
Amen to that Assistant Minority leader, Ty Winter kind enough
to join us. Thank you, sir, catch you next time.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
Thank you, Dan, I appreciate you, and you know, God
bless Colorado, but most importantly, God bless America.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
Amen, thank you, my friend.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
Take care and hey, George Brockler will join us in
a bit talking about these very disturbing multiple shootings out
at a very popular kind of gathering place in Douglass County.
You know, one of these healthy places you go, the
arcade games, the rope climbs, everything else. What's going on
Douglas County one of the best places in America? What's

(28:09):
going on in the entire metro. You're on the Dankaplas Show.

Speaker 5 (28:14):
And now back to the Dankaplas Show podcast.

Speaker 6 (28:19):
Better take.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
I'm little curious. Why do you play that for our
next guest?

Speaker 5 (28:28):
Well tell you you come creeping around his backstairs, you
better be take care because he's taking you down.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
Okay, I Sun down. I thought that song at a
different meaning.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
But no, I'm no Gordon Lightfoot expert, but George Brockler
probably is kind enough to join us the first DA
of the twenty third Now, Douglas, Lincoln and Elbert Counties.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
How you doing, mister Da.

Speaker 4 (28:51):
I'm busy, but it is busy, and for some of
the wrong reasons, some of the right reasons. But this
thing that happened over the weekend, good grief.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
I tell people about this main event thing because I've
been there. I think everybody's been there, right, It's so big.
How could you not be there even if you didn't
intend to go there? It's how would you describe it?
It's one of these things where the only thing I've
never seen in there is.

Speaker 2 (29:14):
Probably a now binal whale.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
I mean they got about everything you could imagine, right,
every type of game, every type of this. And I
normally think of it as a family friendly place.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
Yeah, me too.

Speaker 4 (29:27):
I've been there a dozen plus times with the kids
for birthday parties. It's you know where it's located. It's
right by that Giant Highlands Ranch twenty fourth Theater across
the street from Red Robin. I mean, it's just a
family place. I will confess I've never been there near midnight,
and that's when all this stuff went down. And so
when my phone started blowing up, I thought, this has

(29:47):
got to be somewhere else, but it's not, and so
we had this horrible thing that developed.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
I should begin by.

Speaker 4 (29:54):
Saying, and you've heard me say this a million times
when we talk cases. The woman that's been arrested, and
she has not yet been formally charged, we're working on
those charts right now, is presumed innocent. Has to be
for this thing to make any sense at all. There's
no system worth having if you go into it and
people think, oh, I know you did it. And so
even when we make the formal accusation, she's presumed innocent.

(30:16):
But having said that, it appeared based on all the
publicly available information and everything that's put out there, there's
something that took place inside one of the bathrooms. Inside
that place, there was somewhere between six to ten shots fired,
many of them striking an individual. And then there was
some other shooting that took place out in the broader
area separate from that, butt connected not just temporarily but

(30:39):
in terms of some other things that we're still looking into.
There was obviously a call out shots fired.

Speaker 2 (30:45):
This is about a.

Speaker 4 (30:46):
Quarter mile dan from where STEM took place, so I
mean this is a tight and sensitive area here. Douglas
County Sheriff's deputy rolls up on scene, spots a guy
with a gun and hot out the reports that we
have initially and again this is still there's a lot
more I've got to review and some expert prosecutors have

(31:08):
to tear into. But it appears gave some commands that
did not get responded to. Additional shots were fired, and
that individual was killed as a result of those.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
Gun shots unrelated to what occurred inside.

Speaker 4 (31:23):
Well, unrelated in that it's not the woman, right, The
woman that pulled the trigger inside is not the woman
who had a gun. I'll say this too because this
is now out there in the public stream, and that
is that there has been social media reports from people
who are like, oh, this guy was the good samaritan
who was trying to get the gun from the shooter,
and that's the gun he had. That is not accurate.

(31:44):
It was a completely separate gun. That's the information that
we have so far.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
But you know, the.

Speaker 4 (31:50):
Problem that it creates, and it's a problem slash opportunity
is you know, anytime government who has a monopoly on
the use of lethal force outside of you know, your
own self defense. Sure, anytime that they take another life,
the public should want to know more and they should
demand a certain level of scrutiny and investigation. And that's

(32:11):
what we do here. So, you know, the DCSO folks,
the good folks at Douglas County, they investigate the underlying
crime inside the main event that takes place.

Speaker 3 (32:20):
They do an.

Speaker 4 (32:21):
Internal affairs investigation separate from that to determine whether this
particular officer who pulled the trigger did so, you know,
within their rules and regulations. And then we get involved
with detectives from outside of Douglas County who investigate the
shooting in the parking lot to determine whether there was
a crime committed there. And so we have these three
concurrent investigations, and man, it keeps you busy.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
And George Brockler, our guests.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
Now, George, the twenty three year old who's been arrested,
as you point out, presumed innocent. Is that person from
Douglas County or from outside the county. I'm just trying
to figure out, you know, what's going on, because you
don't think of these things happening in Douglas County. They
shouldn't happen anywhere, but you don't think of them happening there.

Speaker 4 (33:04):
No. By the accounts that I've had so far, it
looks like everybody involved was from Denver, Aurora, Oka.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
Wow. Wow.

Speaker 4 (33:14):
And because it's it's that border, it's that county line
border right there, and it's an attractive place for people
to come, and I don't want to discourage people from coming,
but this is not the place you go to settle disputes.

Speaker 3 (33:27):
Or any other flare ups or arguments.

Speaker 1 (33:30):
Right right, wow, And yeah, because it first came in
as a mass shooting, right and as you say, just
a short distance from Stem. And I'm sure everybody in
law enforcement now we've seen over the years, most recently
just really brilliant responses shaping up to anything that seems
like a mass shooting. But what do you think the

(33:50):
timing is before the public gets more details?

Speaker 4 (33:53):
Well, on the criminal side, we've already had the first
bond hearing. The CORE put a million dollars cash, property
or shirty bond on the person. We believe is the
shooter from inside the investigation itself. I just had a
conversation with the chief of police in Castle Rock, they're
the lead agency on that, and everybody agrees, we got
to make this time like this can't be many many

(34:14):
months from now we reveal what happened. My sense is
because of the change in the launder SB two seventeen
from post George Floyd, within the next thirty ish days,
hopefully less than that. Honestly, bodycams and other videos will
be made available to the public. I know that the
sheriff is anxious to get that stuff out there to
the public because it's like, look, I want you to

(34:34):
know what our guys did do, Like we're not running
around just shooting people. So that should be coming. My
guest is in the next couple few weeks, and well,
there'll be other conversations.

Speaker 1 (34:45):
And I know you're always going to be right down
the middle on everything, including an officer shooting. But just
knowing Douglas County Sheriff's Office, there's no doubt in my
mind the evidence will show that to be a good shoot.
Every shoot's a sad shoot, right. You wish it had
never been necessary, but in terms of law enforcement behavior.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
That's what I would fully expect.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
The facts again, just right down the middle of the show, George,
quick follow up question. I think I saw you or
I heard you on Ryan Show on a Fox story
where they asked you about private security this place. Did
it have any private security off duty sheriff's officers or
anybody else?

Speaker 2 (35:16):
Yet? Just see how many people does that place soul?

Speaker 1 (35:20):
Oh my gosh, I get more than Noah's Ark, A
lot more animals than Noah's our correct, but it's genormous.

Speaker 4 (35:25):
It's hundreds, eight hundreds.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
And here's the thing.

Speaker 4 (35:29):
As you know, and you've been in this this thing
a long time, every place that invites people inside has
an opportunity to make decisions about whether and how to
secure those people on the inside.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
You can go nothing, you can.

Speaker 4 (35:40):
Go private security, or you can go Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
I can tell you they did not contract with Douglas
County Sheriff's Office.

Speaker 1 (35:47):
Yeah, boy, I wish they what if? George, thank you
for the time, my friend, appreciate that.

Speaker 4 (35:51):
Thanks for the opportunity to talk.

Speaker 1 (35:52):
The DA and the twenty third George BROCKLERK when we
come back unimaginable. Bennett and Hicking were pushing a bill
that said as illegal immigrants can't be detained in a
polling place
