Speaker 1 (00:04):
Ripped up news.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
That's so you don't have.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
Come running just suscess as we can show.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
Shooter's gonna help come man.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Dix is the Troubleshooter Show.

Speaker 4 (00:21):
No Tom Martino, Hey, hey, hey Tom Martino here, welcome
to the show. Let me bring in the studio here
in a second. We have Car Day today. We'll talk
about cars, buying, selling, maintaining, repairing, getting rid of crushing whatever.
We also, uh will talk about any problems, questions and

(00:42):
complaints you may have. If you call three oh three,
seven to one three talk while we're in the Kahouse studios.
You can also call three oh three Martino twenty four
to seven three oh three six two seven eight four
sixty six. I'm bringing in the studio major, Mark Major,
take it away?

Speaker 2 (00:56):
What you got man? For closures?

Speaker 5 (00:58):
Have you seen these numbers, like what's going twenty percent
in some areas?

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Isn't that insane? Yeah? It is.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
Now we have a tick in unemployment going up, and
we have a tick of foreclosures going up.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
What's going on with the economy.

Speaker 5 (01:13):
Well, it's hard to say, man, it's really hard to say.
I think people are definitely outspending what they're bringing in
I mean, rising twenty percent on foreclosures. We should get
Mike wink On soon. We don't have to do it today,
but really talk about bankruptcies. I'm starting to think like
it's I'm starting to feel that eighth nine.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
I might want to get out of annoit. I might
want to get out of the.

Speaker 5 (01:37):
Stock market and keep that cash bundled up and then
start buying all these properties as they are foreclosed, because
I'll tell you what, I missed it the first time,
and we could.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
All be billionaires. And I am not kidding. You know,
so many people go with the trend.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
They sell when things get scary, and they buy when
things are on their way up in Mars right, that
the way to do it is just the opposite of that.
But it's so difficult to do. People don't do it.
They they end up going with the crowd because they
feel like they have to. I mean, I don't know

(02:17):
how else to put it. They feel like, oh my god,
everybody's doing this or everybody's doing that, and they get
into these panic modes. But what I want to know
is what is prompting if we have and I look
at I'm just going to bring it up we have
a Republican president, Republican House, Republican Senate. We have we
have a government that is able to do things. Why

(02:42):
the economy, Why.

Speaker 5 (02:44):
We're still trying to recoup from I mean, five percent
inflation year after year after year for my god, four years.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
And I'm not going to blame just Joe Biden.

Speaker 5 (02:53):
A lot of it was a lot of it was suspending,
but a big majority of it was COVID and these
companies Once once people start selling corn flakes for five bucks,
it's pretty hard to get them to pull back on that.
I think we are going to see pricing ease across
because of gasoline. Oil has definitely come down, Shipping is

(03:15):
going to be less, a lot of things are less.
So I think inflation is probably mostly under control at
this point, but it takes a little bit of time,
all right.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
But when hold on going back.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
To the housing, the biggest thing I think that is good.
With housing, I think we're going to see more affordability
because of the foreclosures for people that actually have a
job but they simply weren't making enough. That along with
interest rates that seem to be trending down pretty quickly.

Speaker 6 (03:43):
Sorry, it's also interestingly, Tom, you know, I've been looking
on Reddit lately, and it's amazing how many people on
Reddit are complaining about there being no jobs in a
tech field, sending out literally.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
There aren't you, man, I'm telling you that market is dead.
We have to go to Alicia. Alicia, what's going on
with you? And then we're we have John and we
have Ron, and we have Derek. What's going on, Alicia,
what's happening?

Speaker 7 (04:12):
I'm going because my cousin is in an Alzheimer's facility
in Denver, Colorado here and she fell. No one was
able to tell me anything about the fall. And since
that I have found out that fourteen people are seven
people fell in forty eight hours.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
What is this an assisted living or a nursing home?

Speaker 8 (04:34):
What is it?

Speaker 7 (04:36):
It's assisted and Alzheimer's.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
Okay, yeah, And how did you find How did you
get those statistics for how many people fell?

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Someone told me that how would they get Then.

Speaker 7 (04:52):
I found out? Then I found out.

Speaker 5 (04:54):
That I no, no, But he asked you a very
important question, where is this stat coming from?

Speaker 4 (05:01):
Alicia? This is pretty serious. If how many people fell
in the last how many people it.

Speaker 7 (05:07):
Was seven people in forty eight hours. I can't reveal
the source, and I certainly can't.

Speaker 9 (05:12):
Do it online.

Speaker 7 (05:13):
I mean on the radio, okay, a reliable source. But
this place doesn't have any doesn't have any hand sanitizer.

Speaker 10 (05:26):
Doesn't have it, just doesn't have it.

Speaker 7 (05:28):
Just you know, tons of falls, you know, all.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Right, Alicia?

Speaker 4 (05:36):
Have you have you talked to them? Have you talked
to the assistant living facility?

Speaker 7 (05:40):
Yes, so, Michael friend fell. I called the nurse, the
other nurse. I called the head of the facility. It
took her a week to get back to me, and
then they sent me. The police were called because she
broke her hips. The police didn't find any negligence, although

(06:02):
you not being able to give me a report for
up to a week to me makes me very suspicious.
Nobody will call me back. I've even called the head
of this whole facility, you know, the guy that runs
like seventy of them around the around the United States.
He won't call me back either. They're afraid of getting sued,
is what someone else told me. I think there's some

(06:22):
problems there.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Maybe they have been sued.

Speaker 4 (06:24):
Alicia, Well, I don't know, if I to be honest
with you, I don't know if I want to give
the name right now, and I'll tell you why.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
I do have a suggestion for Alicia.

Speaker 11 (06:34):
Did you call contact a Colorado Department and Health and
file a complaint because they'll go at an inspect.

Speaker 10 (06:40):
I have, Yes, I have, and they are going to
be investigated.

Speaker 9 (06:44):
But it be honest with both of you.

Speaker 7 (06:46):
What really bothers me is these people keep getting away
with it. You know, if it's happening to my cousin,
it's happening to everybody.

Speaker 12 (06:53):
And well we lost me.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
Ahead.

Speaker 7 (06:56):
Well, I mean it's it's not going to be just
one person.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
Well, okay, I understand that, but I understand you're pissed
off too, and I.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
Don't blame you.

Speaker 4 (07:06):
Did they Who is your cousin's caretaker?

Speaker 2 (07:11):
I mean on the outside, who who looks?

Speaker 4 (07:14):
Are you the one? Are you the main caretaker? Are you?

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Are you her guardian? So to speak?

Speaker 7 (07:19):
Yes, I am guardian, Kay Sertor Okay, you know I'm
calling you because I know a lot of these places
aren't so savvy. But you know, I've been involved in
elder care for thirty years and this place is a jeke.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
How are you involved? How are you involved in elder care?

Speaker 7 (07:38):
I take care of my two ninety year old, ninety
nine and a ninety four year old, and I take
care of my cousins.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
Karen, how old is your cousin in this facility? How
old is your cousin in this facility? How old is she?

Speaker 7 (07:50):
Seventy seven? Okay, well, I mean there's no water out,
there's no hand sanitizer. It's not I mean, they're so
no water.

Speaker 5 (08:03):
Okay, now now I'm sorry. Now I just got loshed
in the whole thing. I find it impossible. There's no water.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
I just do no, no, no water.

Speaker 7 (08:14):
There's no water for the people to drink, there's no
glasses out.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
I don't.

Speaker 5 (08:18):
Once again, you totally lost me at that point, and
I apologie.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
That why don't we Why don't we call it? Do
you want us to call them? What do you want
us to do? Tell us, Alicia, we can get the
word out.

Speaker 9 (08:27):
What do I want you to do?

Speaker 4 (08:29):
Okay? We don't either. Where we're trying to figure Yeah,
we're trying to figure this out because truly, really, if
in fact this place is substandard and people are hurting
and suffering there, I mean, obviously we want to know
about it. Now you're allowed to go visit there, right.

Speaker 12 (08:47):
I am.

Speaker 7 (08:48):
I don't think they're too thrilled with me right now
after all the calls I've made that no one will
return on.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
When and when you visit? Do you ask about then?
By the way, I don't know about hand sanitizer, but.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
I guess you the importance on that.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
But what do they say about it? What do they
say about it, Alicia? What do they say about it?

Speaker 7 (09:08):
I've even called meintenance about it. We'll get it on
so then they then they put it in one bathroom.
You know, there's like a bunch of bathrooms there. You know,
it's just it's it's bad from the word go.

Speaker 13 (09:22):
And when people.

Speaker 4 (09:23):
Are considered, have you considered moving her?

Speaker 7 (09:28):
Oh, I'm definitely moving her. That place is a joke.
But you know, I'm just trying to save the other
people because I'm obviously if I'm taking care of three
old people, you can tell I got a good heart.
I mean, if you can't any.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Money, Alicia, we don't.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
We don't doubt that at all that you're calling out
of concern. I'm wondering if there's any way we can
get proof of any of this.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
Stuff, Like have an idea, Tom what is your idea.

Speaker 11 (09:51):
But Alicia, why don't you give us the name off
the air. I'll go over there this weekend and check
it out.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
Yeah, hold on, Alicia, hold on, I'm going to give
this a Deputy Bow. You know, listen, I'm telling you
something in the field of healthcare. Assisted living probably has
the most.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Complaints the most.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
Because of people are heightened, their loved ones are put away,
and they truly they're concerned. Now some of these facilities
they're doing all they can. In fact, I'll tell you
it's a crazy business to be in because it's very,
very difficult. We're going to talk more about this. We'll

(10:38):
have Deputy Boat check him out. And we have other
problems coming up. On the Troubleshooter Show, John has a
transmission problem. Ron wants to talk about a possible go
fundme scam. Ron, please hang on. And then Derek wants
to talk about something very serious, a rape case involving

And we have our car experts in Mark. Who do
we have in today or do we have one experts?

Speaker 2 (12:44):
Can Sheddan Auto Tech Show? Okay, what's going on?

Speaker 4 (12:47):
John?

Speaker 12 (12:49):
Tom? I talked to you about a month ago. I'm
from Kansas. I have a twenty nineteen Honda cord transmission
went out on it and the car is covered by
a warranty and that's the last time I talked to you.
The warn't warranty company did offer to provide a year's transmission,

(13:16):
and I decided to pay money out of my own
pocket and get a new transmission.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
And I did, well, hold on, were.

Speaker 4 (13:27):
They going to pay were they going to pay part
of it if you kicked in money? Were they going
to let you do that or did you have to
pay for all of it on your own?

Speaker 14 (13:36):
Well?

Speaker 12 (13:37):
And see that's the thing they are. They did treat
me right in that they did pay thirty five dollars towards.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (13:45):
Wow, that's cool, and they let you put in the rest.
That's that's a great. Normally when you take on self payment,
they say it's all on you. But they were going
to give you what they would pay normally, and then
you added to it.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
So what's going on now, John, Well, what.

Speaker 12 (14:00):
I did was I added to it. I added twenty
six hundred dollars to it, and I ended up then
with a new transmission. And so, so are you in agreement?
I felt like that they treated me fair and I
felt like.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
It sounds great. But what's the problem now?

Speaker 12 (14:22):
Well, I've just kind of gone back and forth on
this because well, what.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
Do you think they should have done? Let's put it
that way. What are you going back and forth on
so far? I'm hearing that this company came through and
paid you everything that was due under the warranty.

Speaker 12 (14:38):
Well, I feel like it's kind of deceptive.

Speaker 4 (14:41):
Tom.

Speaker 12 (14:41):
When you when you buy a new car and they
tell you about this warranty and they offer a lifetime
warranty on the power train, Yeah, it's kind of deceptive.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
And he's just upset he had to come out of
twenty six hundred.

Speaker 9 (14:55):
No.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
But here's what I don't understand.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
John.

Speaker 4 (14:58):
They were going to replace your trend mission with a
like transmission.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
Why do you feel you deserved a new transmission.

Speaker 12 (15:07):
Well, there's certain things, Tom, you just don't want certain
things to put your car out of that self as
you argue.

Speaker 4 (15:13):
Well, John, John, you bought the warranty, and the warranty
terms and conditions spelled that out, didn't it, or did
it say you got brand new replacement? Very seldom does anything,
does anything offer full replacement. We're all weird when it
comes to full replacement because we are thinking of our

(15:37):
homeowner's insurance. It's one of the few areas in life
where you get replacement coverage.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
Normally with warranties.

Speaker 4 (15:46):
If they rebuilt your transmission, you'd have a rebuild transmission,
but it would be used. If they're going to put
a used transmission in, what I would be concerned about
is what used transmission are they putting in?

Speaker 2 (15:58):
How many miles on it? But if they went and paid.

Speaker 4 (16:01):
You the amount of money that the warranty covered and
you kicked in the rest, first of all, I think
I don't know if you should have paid I don't
know if.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
That was a good idea or not. I don't know.
Did you did you you.

Speaker 4 (16:16):
Got a brand new literally, a brand new transmission?

Speaker 14 (16:20):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (16:22):
Okay, so you think they should pay for the whole
new transmission.

Speaker 12 (16:28):
Well, when you read the fine prant, and you're right,
it's almost a word for word what you said. But
and I did send you, guys, I emailed you this
to page one.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
So you are answering your own question. John.

Speaker 4 (16:40):
It's not that I would love everyone to have everything
they want, but I mean, you bought an extended warranty
that offers replacement for what you lost, And that's exactly
what they're doing.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
They're giving you like for like.

Speaker 4 (16:55):
And what's really amazing is that they paid you the
money because you decided not to have the warranty work done.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
You know, a lot of those warranties won't do that.

Speaker 12 (17:08):
I agree, And you're right, it really wouldn't be fair
for me to have a brand new transmission at no
cost out of my own pocket. But anyway, I agree, Tom, Okay, I.

Speaker 4 (17:19):
Mean, now, if you had a warranty, Kevin, do you
know of any warranties that offer brand new stuff?

Speaker 14 (17:26):
I mean, the only time we would get a reman
is if a used wasn't available or mile as wise,
they were completely that you know, in other words, if
you got fifty thousand miles in your car and the
only part we can find is got one hundred and
fifty thousand or something like that.

Speaker 4 (17:39):
But yeah, but but sho, you're used to dealing with
these warranty companies and they want you to They want
you to replace like for like don't.

Speaker 14 (17:46):
Exactly, and then you know most of them will pay.
They pay the shop the claim and it's the shop
who can work with the customer then to get the
REMA transmissions.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Okay, so cool?

Speaker 14 (17:55):
Why are you doing it? Why not?

Speaker 2 (17:56):
All right? Cool? Let's talk to Ron.

Speaker 5 (17:58):
Hey, he said, real quick, I'm reading through his Not
only can they use a used transmission, but believe it
or not, they're almost required to under their own language
because it literally says light kind in quality. If they
put a new one in, they're breaking their own agreement.

Speaker 14 (18:20):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (18:21):
Okay, so Ron, you think you found a scam at GoFundMe.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
What's going on?

Speaker 1 (18:29):
Ron?

Speaker 15 (18:31):
Well, I have a lifelong friend that died suddenly and
his family set up a gofriend me site to try
and help with funeral expenses, and somebody set up a
some sort of fund and that's fraudulent and they're mimica
and they're stealing.

Speaker 4 (18:49):
So wait, are they actually stealing it or are they
just having a competing fund?

Speaker 15 (18:56):
Well, it looks like a competing fund. I'm very computer illiterate.
I'm very old, and so I don't know as much.
I didn't grow up with the computers, so I can't tell.
But I just got an email from the man's daughter,
and I can read it to you, and then maybe
that will help ye analyze what's going on.

Speaker 4 (19:17):
Okay, okay, but here's what I want to know. Are
you saying that someone saw this site and then mimicked
it with another site or did they hack into the original?

Speaker 2 (19:29):
Okay, they didn't hack into the original?

Speaker 5 (19:33):
Well just give why don't you give Kelly hold on
when we go to break here, give Kelly. She'll pick
up and talk to you offline. Give her how to
find both of them so we can look at both
of them.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
Yeah, let let's see what you're talking about. If they
didn't But on the surface, if they did not hack
into the original account and they simply started another account,
and you think it's fraudulent. That's totally separate. If you
think they're confusing the two, but they just happen to
be similar. That's that's on the people not reading carefully.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
We'll have to we'll have to decide.

Speaker 4 (20:10):
I mean, we'll look at it and see if it's
purposely misleading. All right, So hang on three all three,

(21:18):
This sounds very serious. Derek. What's going on, Derek? What's happening?

Speaker 14 (21:28):
Derek?

Speaker 2 (21:28):
Are you there? Derek?

Speaker 9 (21:34):
Good morning?

Speaker 2 (21:35):
What's going on?

Speaker 12 (21:36):
Man?

Speaker 4 (21:37):
Hi?

Speaker 2 (21:38):
Tom?

Speaker 9 (21:39):
Hi, Well, a couple months ago, about seven eight weeks ago,
I was informed by one of my children that she
had been getting physically and sexually assaulted and abused during
a relationship. And I guess, Mike.

Speaker 4 (21:58):
Now, hold on, So she had a relationship, she had
a relationship with this guy, and then she said, by
the way, Dad, this guy was very abusive.

Speaker 9 (22:08):
Well, the relationship had been going on for a few months,
and I was aware she was in this and it's
with a gentleman that's involved in a high profile case
coming up for retrial. Okay, And my daughter came to
me and said, Dad, what started out as something wonderful

(22:36):
turned into sexual beatings and punching and choking.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
Oh my god, Oh my god, getting.

Speaker 9 (22:47):
To the point where she finally broke down and said
I'm not okay. Well, at that moment, of course, like
a dad, I just kind of everything kind of are
to going up in the air. About you know, as
fas as it could.

Speaker 4 (23:03):
Yeah, you were crazy. I mean I'd be crazed over it.
So she said had at the time she told you,
was she broken up with this guy? Yes?

Speaker 9 (23:14):
Yeah, okay, they had kind of parted ways and gotten separated. Well,
when she told me this, my immediate response was, who's
his lawyer? And so I sent a text to the
lawyer that represents this young man the man and before
and all.

Speaker 4 (23:34):
And now you're saying, you say he's involved in a
high profile case right now, this this person.

Speaker 9 (23:41):
Yes, yes, he's set for retrial inm.

Speaker 4 (23:45):
I mean, is it something everyone would know about When
you say high profile?

Speaker 14 (23:50):
I believe so?

Speaker 9 (23:51):
Yeah, okay, I believe. So it's been it's been in
the Colorado system for the last several years.

Speaker 4 (23:57):
And is he being tried for something similar violence or
abuse or rape or what?

Speaker 9 (24:04):
Yes, exactly, he's being tried for sexual assault.

Speaker 4 (24:08):
Now, when she was dating him, did she know that
this guy was on trial for sexual assault?

Speaker 2 (24:15):
Yes, he had.

Speaker 9 (24:17):
They had conversations prior and and somehow he hit coursed
her into believing this right, right, long line of shenanigans.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
Well, that's how they do it.

Speaker 4 (24:28):
I mean they're really good at what they do, some
of these guys.

Speaker 9 (24:31):
Well, then the lawyer comes into play and gets personally
connected with my daughter and starts basically massaging her as to, hey,
we have you. It's okay, we're going to take care
of you. Well, during this time, my daughter got pregnant.

Speaker 4 (24:48):
From who from the front wait, wait, from the from
the rapist.

Speaker 9 (24:52):
Yes, yes, and that's, oh my god, consensual.

Speaker 4 (24:57):
It was.

Speaker 9 (24:57):
It was during their consensual part.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
I get it. No, I get it.

Speaker 9 (25:04):
When I immediately reached out.

Speaker 4 (25:06):
Hold on one second on this. Was it ever non
consensual or was it simply violent and vulgar but kind
of consensual because she didn't know what to do?

Speaker 9 (25:20):
It was, from my understanding, and I've been over this
a thousand times with her, it was consensual at the beginning,
and then it just started getting rougher and rougher to
the point where well.

Speaker 4 (25:30):
Then she put an end to it, right, got it.
So she was kind of confused. I understand what you're saying.
She was kind of confused by the whole thing, and
he was probably grooming her and abusing her. Concuse me,
this terrible. So she breaks up with the guy, and
now she's pregnant, so keep continue your story.

Speaker 9 (25:53):
So I reach out to that lawyer with a text message,
a very simple request, there will be no more communication
with my dog or if you need anything, please contact
me directly. It was it was that and before my
daughter said, we were going to go file the charges
with the Westminster Police Department.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
But what charges would you file?

Speaker 4 (26:14):
If it was it's going to be a very hard
case because she was you know, what kind of charges?
Were you talking about?

Speaker 9 (26:24):
Sexual assault?

Speaker 2 (26:26):
Okay?

Speaker 9 (26:26):
Physical assault?

Speaker 4 (26:27):
You know, this is what I don't understand, and I'm
ignorant of this. That's why I'm asking, can you have
a sexual assault when you have consensual sex? I don't
know the answer. I'm asking the question, do you know, Derek,
did you I.

Speaker 9 (26:43):
Would say, hey, if it's consensual at the beginning, and
then it turns into non consensual, well well did it no?

Speaker 4 (26:50):
No, no, no, But that's what I'm asking, did it
turn into non consensual? Where she said stop it? And
he kept going okay, yeah, I didn't know that.

Speaker 9 (27:00):
The point to the point of physical it's pretty dark.
I mean, it's but.

Speaker 4 (27:06):
But but she was clear, she was clear on stop.

Speaker 9 (27:10):
No more, very clear, very cool.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
And then that's when she broke up when he did
not stop.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
Correct.

Speaker 4 (27:19):
Okay, because they're gonna they're gonna, I mean, defense attorneys
are going to pick this apart. They're gonna say, at
what point was it non consensual? Did he know it
was non consensual? How did he know it was non consensual?
What did you do after you said it was non consensual?
Did you break up with him? Did he did it
happen after that? I mean all of this subject.

Speaker 16 (27:40):
So where do we I just emailed you the news
article on this case, so check your inbox now.

Speaker 4 (27:45):
The news article, by the way, is not about this
guy's daughter. The news article is about the previous case
or what's what?

Speaker 2 (27:53):
What is the It is.

Speaker 4 (27:53):
About the well?

Speaker 16 (27:55):
Uh no, he's quoted in the case, so it's I
mean right, the callers quoted in the art.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
Okay, Okay, how old is the daughter?

Speaker 17 (28:04):
Do?

Speaker 10 (28:04):
What?

Speaker 12 (28:04):
Thirty?

Speaker 14 (28:05):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (28:06):
What difference does that make? Well, if she was a minor,
it would make me.

Speaker 4 (28:12):
Yeah, I doubt it. Okay, I assume she wasn't a minor,
but I guess. Okay, So so he faces a new
sexual assault allegation. Okay, So where do we stand? What
are you calling about how can we help you. By
the way, the news story says, a Colorado man whose

(28:32):
sexual assault convictions were overturned on a legal technicality is
now accused of re offending while awaiting retrial. Oh my goodness,
so he was previously convicted in Boulder County. He faces
several felony sexual assault charges. Okay, so where do we stand?

(28:57):
What's going on?

Speaker 2 (28:59):
This is a very troubling what's going on?

Speaker 9 (29:02):
I think, you know, when she told me that he
had been hitting her so hard that he knocked her
out and had woke up to being physically and sexually assaulted,
that's kind of what to tip me over. So when
I sent that text message to his lawyer that there
would be no communication, she sent him down to file

(29:24):
a tremendous amount of false allegations and a couple of
different jurisdictions to side my daughter on a judicial system.
Goose Chase, if you will stall, it's a stall tactic.
It's just yeah, yeah, it's absolutely outside the ethics of practice.
We all know that. And then during during this last

(29:44):
seven months, massaging my daughter into you're going to be okay,
We're going to protect you and the baby, he's not
going to jail. We're going to get him out of this.
Everything's okay, and which led into them filing the charges
before my daughter to get to the police station to

(30:05):
file her charges. So they filed immediately when she got
my tech text message. They filed an array of allegations. Okay,
but my daughter had to turn herself in to the
Well County police departments.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
And what do you mean turn herself in? What does
that mean? Turn herself in?

Speaker 9 (30:27):
They had they had those charges from from Eerie, and
they had reached out to let her know that she
was to turn herself in.

Speaker 4 (30:36):
But what but what charges was? What was she charged with?

Speaker 9 (30:41):
She was charged with domestic violence, There was child abuse allegations,
there was there was an array of charges that were
falsely put into play.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
And who charged her with this?

Speaker 9 (30:56):
Her lawyer drafted it up and then she was sent
to Greeley, obviously, to Well County per court.

Speaker 4 (31:04):
Do you understand, guys, Mark, do you understand what he's saying.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
I don't understand.

Speaker 5 (31:08):
I don't see how a civil attorney can bring charges
like that.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
I don't know what that means.

Speaker 4 (31:16):
So wait, Derek, Derek, let me get this raight. Your
daughter was the victim. Your daughter was the victim of
sexual assault? Is that correct?

Speaker 9 (31:24):
Correct?

Speaker 4 (31:25):
How does that turn around to charges against her? That's
the part I'm not understanding exactly.

Speaker 9 (31:32):
Now we have a tremendous amount of charges in family
law in Well County that she is dealing with right now?

Speaker 4 (31:41):
What charges? What charges is she dealing with? The record? Child?
Okay against who? Domestic violence against who?

Speaker 9 (31:50):
Against my daughter?

Speaker 2 (31:54):
Okay, I don't I'm totally.

Speaker 9 (31:56):
Choosing the charges.

Speaker 4 (31:59):
The charges are against her, their their charges she brought
Is that correct?

Speaker 1 (32:05):
No?

Speaker 9 (32:05):
The charges they brought on to my daughter.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
Who's they? This is?

Speaker 4 (32:11):
This is this perpetrator charged your daughter with stuff?

Speaker 9 (32:16):
Correct?

Speaker 2 (32:17):
Shoe lawyer, that's.

Speaker 4 (32:19):
So so so.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
Your daughter was assaulted by this guy.

Speaker 4 (32:24):
She went to his attorney, and his attorney turned it
around and made charges against her exactly, claiming that she
was violent on him exactly. And what about the child abuse?
What child abuse are we talking about? There is there

(32:44):
a child in you?

Speaker 9 (32:45):
I think they're the little boy is involved. They have
a little a seven month.

Speaker 12 (32:50):
A little boy.

Speaker 9 (32:52):
This was the one that was going to see you
and an argument or a physical altercation.

Speaker 4 (32:57):
The child is in and this was the I conceived
during that violence and that assaulting.

Speaker 18 (33:05):
Correct.

Speaker 4 (33:07):
Okay, so where do we stand today? What's going on?
This is ridiculous.

Speaker 9 (33:10):
Well, where we stand today is when she had left
the Well County, she had gotten back home and they
had showed up and they had taken the baby. And
now they have they had filed an emotion to have
a parenting time and restrictions, filing protective orders with my

(33:32):
daughter's other two children, basically just putting so many things
in there that my daughter can't keep up with.

Speaker 4 (33:40):
The Your daughter became the victim, Your daughter, the victim became.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
The target.

Speaker 9 (33:47):
Yes, yes, because they're getting ready for court. And now
Boulder has those charges that were filed in Westminster. They
pulled those over.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
Okay, hold on.

Speaker 4 (34:00):
And we got to take this break and figure out
where we're going with this.

Speaker 4 (36:19):
Take it away, Mark. What's going on today? What do
we got happening?

Speaker 5 (36:22):
Well, this one with this poor guy on about his
daughter is absolutely insane. So we got some information and
for people just joining us, Uh, it's a pretty crazy story.

Speaker 2 (36:33):
But I'll tell it to you in a nutshell.

Speaker 5 (36:36):
Our caller called up and his daughter, who's thirty years old,
basically got raped in her that's the accusation she's making.
But the guy that she's saying did it is already
in trouble for other stuff and he's got a court
case coming up.

Speaker 2 (36:54):
What was that court.

Speaker 4 (36:55):
Case here, Derek. Here's what's going on. He was accused
of sexual assaults, yes, and his verdict was overturned. So
while he's awaiting retrial, he supposedly rapes or sexually assaults

(37:15):
Derek's daughter. Yeah, Derek's daughter goes to this guy's attorney
to let him know what's going on, and he somehow
turns it into charges against Derek's daughter. What's your daughter's
first name?

Speaker 2 (37:31):
Derek?

Speaker 4 (37:35):
He took yeah, he doesn't want to give us so,
but well, she's in the newspaper.

Speaker 2 (37:41):
I just don't know her name's not her name is
not in the newspaper. Okay, she's you know, yes, sir, Derek, Hey, hey, Derek.
We looked up Tom listen to this.

Speaker 5 (37:52):
We got information from Derek and we looked up what
the charges were and it all stems, apparently according to
the charges from an incident on October fifth, which I
have a question this year of this year, but Derek,
I want you to hear what the charges are.

Speaker 16 (38:09):
Go ahead, Okay, So there's four counts of one is
of assault, one is child abuse, another is harassment, strike, shove, kick,
and then theft is another charge.

Speaker 5 (38:23):
So what happened on October fifth, to the best of
your knowledge, is what I'm curious about.

Speaker 9 (38:31):
You know, I'm not one hundred percent at this very
moment without having some of those documents in front of me.
I do know that all these allegations were made while
she was in the Well County jail and turned in.

Speaker 5 (38:48):
Okay, what did she get brought to jail for? Was
that the October fifth incident?

Speaker 14 (38:54):
Yeah, it was for.

Speaker 9 (38:55):
Those charges that they have filed. The domestic violence.

Speaker 5 (38:58):
The Yeah, but it's saying that inside Wait a minute, though, wait, wait, wait,
here's where I'm getting confused.

Speaker 2 (39:04):
Derek, I'm very confused. Yeah, so is it saying Suzanne. Yeah?

Speaker 5 (39:09):
On Colorado courts, the incident date was October fifth.

Speaker 16 (39:13):
Okay, it says offense date for each charge, and the
offense date for each charge is the same October fifth.

Speaker 2 (39:21):
So it gets issued on October fifth for those charges.

Speaker 16 (39:26):
And then there was also an arrest date of October fifth.

Speaker 5 (39:30):
And go ahead, get I want to know what the
incident was on October fifth. The police must have come out,
at least looking at this. The police came out, they
were called for something. Maybe she called them, I don't know.
But they came out and arrested her on those charges.

Speaker 4 (39:48):
But and this is another thing, Derek, Derek, I'm sorry
you finished. And then I want to ask you. Was
she living with this guy? Was she living with him?

Speaker 9 (40:00):
Called her and asked her to turn herself in?

Speaker 10 (40:03):
What she did?

Speaker 9 (40:04):
They didn't arrest her. She turned herself into the Well
County on those on those particular charges.

Speaker 2 (40:10):
And now and was she living with him? They had
a baby together? Were they living together?

Speaker 17 (40:14):
Lived? They lived together for a few months, and then
when all this happened, they went ahead and filed a
restraining order on my daughter, which meant that she could
not go back to her own apartment.

Speaker 2 (40:31):
But was he living at that apartment? Yes?

Speaker 4 (40:35):
See, Derek, that's a whole bunch of stuff you left
out there. So it wasn't just dating this guy. She
was living with this guy. Now, how many children? How
many children does she have? How many children does she
have with this guy? Derek? One the seven month old? Correct,
and she got pregnant during one of these assaults.

Speaker 2 (40:57):
You're saying.

Speaker 9 (40:59):
She got pregnant somewhere in between there.

Speaker 2 (41:01):
Yet, okay?

Speaker 5 (41:03):
And for people well and for people just tuning in.
So basically they were into it rough. I mean, both
of them at the beginning, at least according to Derek
were kind of into rough sex. But the guy kept
getting worse and worse and worse, and finally.

Speaker 2 (41:20):
She said, no, this is too rough.

Speaker 5 (41:21):
And according to Derek, she basically got knocked out one
time and that's when she was done with it. And
that's where the line apparently went to rape right there.

Speaker 16 (41:31):
Also, what is curious is the gentleman in question filed
for divorce two days before the October fifth arrest.

Speaker 2 (41:39):
Whoa, whoa, whoa?

Speaker 4 (41:41):
So when do you filed for divorce? That were they married?

Speaker 16 (41:44):
Well, if he's the litigant and she's the respondent, that
would mean he filed for divorce, correct, DoD you know
they were married, Derek.

Speaker 14 (41:53):
There's no there.

Speaker 9 (41:54):
I have not seen any yet.

Speaker 2 (41:56):
I can email you these documents. Just give Kelly your
I need that, Okay.

Speaker 5 (42:00):
First of all, I want to I want to pick
my words because I don't want people to misunderstand me.
Rape is rape. I don't care if it's a husband wife,
I don't care where it is. Someone says no.

Speaker 2 (42:11):
That's the end of it. You gotta stop, of course.

Speaker 5 (42:14):
But but this totally changes a lot of other things.
If they were married, he files for divorce, then two
days later he filed. Cops are out there and arrest
her on What were the arrest again? What were the
charges again?

Speaker 16 (42:30):
The DV child abuse, theft, which is odd theft.

Speaker 5 (42:35):
He files for divorce two days later, and I'm just
going off the records we're looking at. Two days later,
all of a sudden, she's arrested for domestic violence. There's
definitely two sides here.

Speaker 9 (42:49):
There was never a marriage.

Speaker 16 (42:51):
Okay, let me email you these documents. Derek, just give
Kelly your.

Speaker 5 (42:57):
Means the Colorado court you might not know. I mean,
we're not saying you're like not telling us anything. You
could very well not know they got married.

Speaker 4 (43:08):
This guy his name is Omar. A bugalib? Is that
how you pronounce it? A booga liib about a glib?

Speaker 2 (43:20):
Okay, I don't know.

Speaker 9 (43:23):
We don't have any any records or documents of any
marriage we're going to try to get.

Speaker 2 (43:28):
I want Joe Lazar pardon me?

Speaker 16 (43:30):
Can you file for divorce for common law? I guess
it's possible they were common law? And I have no
idea why anybody definitely filed for divorce.

Speaker 9 (43:40):
No, No, they lived together for probably nine ten months.
There was there was no marriage.

Speaker 2 (43:46):
Okay, who filed for divorce? What's the guys?

Speaker 16 (43:49):
It says the the litigant, the petitioner is Omar?

Speaker 2 (43:54):
The response.

Speaker 5 (43:57):
Guy guy, Ma, Look, Derek, how many Omars are there that.

Speaker 2 (44:05):
Against your daughter's exacts?

Speaker 16 (44:07):
Record was pulled up from putting in your daughter's information
that you gave Kelly.

Speaker 9 (44:12):
Kelly, So, yeah, I have not seen any documents in
reference to a marriage or divorce.

Speaker 2 (44:18):
Why was his here here's another thing.

Speaker 4 (44:21):
Why was his conviction overturned in April of twenty twenty three?

Speaker 2 (44:28):
Does anyone know why?

Speaker 5 (44:29):
Well, it was over to Thomas. There's a new trial.
It could very well then just procedural it.

Speaker 14 (44:36):
No what I read, Tom, it was a judge's just
directions to the juror were incorrect.

Speaker 4 (44:42):
They okay, you're right, they they they had a wrong instructions.

Speaker 2 (44:48):
Pardon me, guys, Derek.

Speaker 16 (44:49):
Did you know she was married and divorced before this, gentleman?

Speaker 9 (44:55):
Yeah, okay, Well, but her former she was with her
former partner for I think thirteen fourteen years years.

Speaker 4 (45:04):
Okay, and omar Abu Galib got her pregnant and it
was adoring forcible sex. She slid with him though, but
she stayed with him with the child for seven months.

Speaker 2 (45:19):
Yeah, but I that's why.

Speaker 9 (45:20):
She did not stay with the child for seven months.
He was out of the apartment. Oh left the assartment?

Speaker 2 (45:27):
Okay, he left? We left? Okay?

Speaker 4 (45:30):
Right?

Speaker 9 (45:30):
When? So when the physical got out of it?

Speaker 2 (45:33):
And where then? Okay, I got it, I got it.

Speaker 4 (45:35):
So where did the how did she get charged with
domestic violence? That's what I want to know. This guy
is sexually assaulting her. She has a child with this guy.
She kicks the guy out of the apartment. How does
that turn into her being charged with domestic violence.

Speaker 9 (45:56):
During an argument? From my understanding, he grabbed her, physically
grabbed her, and she struck him back.

Speaker 4 (46:04):
Okay, So that's her story, and I'm not saying it's
not true, but that's her story that she was defending herself.

Speaker 2 (46:11):
And then somehow the cops were called.

Speaker 16 (46:14):
She's also he also filed for child custody on the
same day.

Speaker 4 (46:18):
Colley, Yeah, where's his case?

Speaker 2 (46:23):
Where's his case right now?

Speaker 4 (46:25):
Is he being retried or are they going to drop
it from the original sexual assault?

Speaker 9 (46:31):
I'm being retried December eighth and Bulder County. I believe
a total of seventeen counts.

Speaker 4 (46:39):
Oh my god, now do any of those counts? But
by the way, did your daughter actually bring charges against him?
Is he facing sexual assault from her legal charges?

Speaker 2 (46:52):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (46:53):
And then she's facing domestic violence and she's facing on
neglect with the children or abuse and neglect right.

Speaker 9 (47:02):
Right, because the children were there when she grabbed her and.

Speaker 4 (47:07):
Okay, got it, got it. This is a mess. So
what are you Let's just ask this what are you
calling about today? I mean, I mean, this is all very.

Speaker 9 (47:18):
Troubling where you might direct us too, because.

Speaker 2 (47:24):
It looks needs this whole.

Speaker 9 (47:26):
Time, my daughter's credibility is trying to be destroyed so
she cannot be used in the bolder cases. And it
looks like witness tampering to make.

Speaker 4 (47:36):
To me, oh man, this you first of all, your daughter.
Does she have an attorney of her own?

Speaker 9 (47:48):
Not yet. She has a public defender for the criminal
charges in well count.

Speaker 4 (47:53):
She she needs an attorney that can handle all of it,
she really does. I mean, this is going to Austin,
This is going to cost some money, but she needs
to get this done. She she she faces some serious
charges here.

Speaker 5 (48:09):
Especially I mean they took her child away.

Speaker 12 (48:12):
Yeah, they took.

Speaker 4 (48:14):
Her chill her children they took away.

Speaker 2 (48:18):
Now I get that. I get that.

Speaker 4 (48:20):
They they're saying because the children were present. But why
wasn't he charged with child abuse?

Speaker 9 (48:28):
Well that's a great question. That's a great place.

Speaker 2 (48:35):
By the way.

Speaker 4 (48:37):
Yeah, the whole thing, the whole thing is just crazy.
It's it's I mean, I know why you're upset, and
I don't blame you.

Speaker 2 (48:45):
This is unbelievable, just unbelievable.

Speaker 9 (48:50):
And basically reversed all of the the entire scenario.

Speaker 2 (48:54):
Pardon me, guys, I might have got that.

Speaker 16 (48:55):

(50:46):
to uh, I mean, it's got so complicated.

Speaker 5 (50:50):
Tom, think of this. It's possible that he set her up.
That's basically what he's saying. Well, the attorney set her up.

Speaker 4 (50:57):
I think the attorney because she was in contact with
his attorneys.

Speaker 2 (51:01):
The cops shut.

Speaker 5 (51:01):
It up somewhere on October fifth, for domestic violence, for theft,
for child abuse. There's no way I can just tell
my attorney something and then he calls the DA's office
and they just write up charges. And they never went
out there. They never did an investigation. Don't you think

(51:22):
the cops went out there on October fifth?

Speaker 4 (51:26):
I'm sure they did, and they they probably, But why
was he not arrested for domestic fire?

Speaker 14 (51:33):
I think he's been charged too. They may both have
been turned.

Speaker 2 (51:37):
Oh that's true. I never thought about it.

Speaker 14 (51:38):
Sometimes you show up.

Speaker 16 (51:40):
I'm going to do a search on him now to
see if he's got other open stuff.

Speaker 2 (51:45):
I'm going to do that. And then here's the other
thing I wanted to ask Joe Lazara. Listen to this.

Speaker 5 (51:50):
Is it true if they wanted her to testify in
this new court case? It has nothing to do with her,
but she would be a witness that this guy gets
really rough in rapes people. Let's just say that. And
this is all allegedly. Sure, so does it because now
that he has I don't know, a domestic violence or

(52:12):
a restraining order against her, does that mean the DA
couldnot allow her to testify or something?

Speaker 2 (52:19):
Or it just simply looks bad to the jury.

Speaker 4 (52:22):
Well, they'll impeach her when she testifies. When she testifies,
they'll impeach her saying aren't you up on charges? And
you know whatever? In other words, it makes you're a
weak witness.

Speaker 5 (52:33):
Her dad kept saying that now she can't testify.

Speaker 2 (52:37):
Her so that's not true at all.

Speaker 4 (52:39):
Nope, No, she has They can't take away her right
to testify.

Speaker 2 (52:44):
The only thing, the only way you get.

Speaker 4 (52:46):
Out of testifying, you can't test They can't make you
testify against your spouse y. But what I think Derek
means is they're not going to use her to testify
necessarily because they will impeach her. Yeah, and and you
know when you destroy the credibility of a witness, saying,
wait a minute, what do you do in charging this guy?
This guy charged you. You guys are in a scuffle

(53:07):
with each other. How can we believe you? That's what's
gonna happen, Derek, Derek has Oh, he's gone. Okay. Have
they consulted any other attorneys? I want to know, because
she needs way more than a public defender.

Speaker 2 (53:23):
She's in a lot of trouble.

Speaker 5 (53:25):
Oh wait, and new Zanne looked him up. That we're
talking about the alleged rapist.

Speaker 16 (53:29):
It's interesting he has one thing on his record other
than filing for custody of his kid, and that's those
sex offenses from several years ago?

Speaker 2 (53:38):
What were the offenses? What are the allegations? It says
here is from years ago. Man, it's from twenty seventeen.

Speaker 4 (53:45):
It's still open.

Speaker 16 (53:46):
It's an open case sex assault.

Speaker 2 (53:47):
Right, he was found guilty.

Speaker 5 (53:50):
Well yeah, right, he was found guilty, but it was overturned.
I mean, everything's allegedly at this point, every.

Speaker 4 (53:56):
Right, Right, it was overturned. He's awaiting retrial. Meanwhile, this
daughter of you know, Derek's daughter gets in with this
guy and says he was violent, She kicked him out,
had his baby, and then somehow he came back and
in front of the child, they had a fight. She's

(54:18):
charged with domestic violence and child abuse.

Speaker 2 (54:22):
Why not him?

Speaker 4 (54:23):
Why wasn't he charged if he came back to the
apartment and they were fighting.

Speaker 2 (54:28):
That's the part I don't understand. Well, we don't know either,
I mean, that's the whole thing.

Speaker 5 (54:32):
For all we know when he filed for child custody
two days before this apparent event happened where she got
the DV and she got the theft charge and she
got the child abuse. Maybe she was pissed. I mean,
we really have no idea. We weren't there, Derek wasn't there.
I have no idea went down, but I do know this.

(54:54):
The guy's name, what's his first name, Omar, Omar, you
know what.

Speaker 14 (54:59):
Like it or not.

Speaker 2 (55:00):
That trial was overturned.

Speaker 5 (55:02):
Yes, he was found guilty, but there was errors in
that trial and he gets his say again.

Speaker 2 (55:07):
I mean, this is all alleged at this point. No, obviously, yes,
And here's the deal.

Speaker 4 (55:14):
She has an increasingly weaker case because you know.

Speaker 2 (55:20):
The violence went on, she had a baby with the guy, she.

Speaker 4 (55:23):
Was married to the guy.

Speaker 2 (55:25):
Yeah, she was married to the guy.

Speaker 4 (55:27):
And then I'm not saying that he should have assaulted her, No,
of course not, but it looks like maybe she was
using the violence against him to ward off stuff against her.

Speaker 2 (55:41):
It's just a mess that And like Mark.

Now when it comes to go fund me, we had

(57:12):
a call from a guy who said I and died.
His family did a go fund Me, and then the
site showed up again somewhere else on go fund me,
and it's the same thing. They're using his name and everything,
except the family's not getting the money. So when you

(57:35):
look at this, the real site is at GoFundMe dot
com honoring Nobil and I don't know how you pronounce
his name, Karkams. Anyway, we have a family member on
and it helps support and pay for the funeral costs.

(57:55):
So if you click on that link they sent us,
it is a Go fundme site. But what I did
not understand, and Mark, I know you were surprised. I
heard you talking about it too. The mirrored site, the
exact same site is also at go fund razor dot org.

Speaker 2 (58:18):
All right, well hold on, let me jump in on something.

Speaker 1 (58:20):
You said.

Speaker 2 (58:21):
They're definitely going mirrored sites.

Speaker 5 (58:22):
It's not exact in fact, Go fundraiser Go fundraiser dot
org is just it's a horrible site. It's completely bs.

Speaker 2 (58:33):
It's fake.

Speaker 5 (58:33):
There's nothing else I can say about it. I doubt
anybody would ever donate to it. There's misspelled words all
over the site. And I'm not talking about the listings.
I mean the actual site itself. It's just a complete scam.
But I don't think anybody's donating to it. Where it
says there's been donations, I doubt they're even real donations.

Speaker 2 (58:56):
Nations.

Speaker 4 (58:58):
Yeah, so what I'm saying, why wouldn't they There's.

Speaker 5 (59:02):
No TPS details, there's no fraud protection, there's nothing here.
I mean, it's absolutely crazy crazy. But and let's bring
up who do we have on the air? Who do
we have on the phone. If you look at in fact,
a lot of the links are identical. If you go
to fundraise or or volunteer links, it's the exact same,

(59:26):
uh stuff. When you go to that page, they misspell
all kinds of words.

Speaker 2 (59:32):
Words.

Speaker 4 (59:33):
Now, Christine, is this your dad? Whose whose page it is?
You put this up for your dad?

Speaker 10 (59:42):
Yeah? I put it up for my dad a few
days ago. And we were just notified yesterday by his
work that there was this other site, and they had
asked me about it. And the only reason why because
I also noticed that right away this is a fake site.
But what worried and what worried other people was that
some of the names that have potentially donated to this

(01:00:07):
website are real names from some of his co workers,
oh like Earle.

Speaker 4 (01:00:13):
And Stephanie and Viva and Paul and all of those.
Do you think they really did did they say they
went to this site to donate.

Speaker 10 (01:00:25):
I haven't spoken to any of them directly. I just
know that their work saw that and was mortified because
I saw that people from different stores that legitimate people,
real people they hear their names, have donated, and so
they sent an email everyone letting them know that, hey,
this is not the real site. Our site is the

(01:00:46):
go fund go fund me, and this go fund racer
that came out of nowhere is fake, so don't donate
it to it. But I haven't like specifically talked to
anyone that they said was now and.

Speaker 4 (01:01:00):
You go to the main If you go to the
main page of gofundraiser dot org, it may be a
real site Go fundraiser. I'm not saying, but I think
that somebody put a fund up that was phony on
this site. But I'm not sure the entire site is phony.

(01:01:21):
Do you think it is, Mark, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:01:23):
I think it's complete bs. The entire site is nothing
but a big fraud. They go over to gun go fundme,
they find particular ones.

Speaker 2 (01:01:32):
I mean, I don't know, I don't.

Speaker 5 (01:01:34):
Know exactly what they do, but here's my best guess.

Speaker 2 (01:01:38):
They find somebody like this.

Speaker 5 (01:01:40):
Somehow they get some information off the real site Go fundme,
they create this and then they hope people donate to
this one. But I don't think you actually donate to
this one. I don't think it builds your credit card.
You just give the credit card information. Then they have
all your information to go buy gift cards or whatever
else they do with it.

Speaker 4 (01:02:01):
Let's see when I hit on this fake site donation, Yeah,
it doesn't even allow me to donate.

Speaker 2 (01:02:08):
I mean, how would I donate?

Speaker 16 (01:02:09):
Now?

Speaker 2 (01:02:09):
You could do continue? Oh I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (01:02:12):
Oh yeah, your whole credit card information is here.

Speaker 14 (01:02:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:02:17):
Yeah, absolutely, so people put it in there and they
get it.

Speaker 2 (01:02:21):
They get that information information.

Speaker 4 (01:02:25):
Okay, So in any case, go fund you know, go
have you Well, you can't contact go fund me because
they didn't do it.

Speaker 2 (01:02:34):
Yeah they have. Have you tried? Have you tried contacting.

Speaker 4 (01:02:39):
Just for the hell of it, the go fundraiser dot
org site.

Speaker 2 (01:02:43):
They're all fake.

Speaker 5 (01:02:45):
You can't even And then when we talk hold on,
I want to understand this. When you were talking about
the co workers. If you go to go fund me,
you see everybody that's donated. Apparently Elizabeth Demara donated five hundred.

Speaker 2 (01:02:59):
Is that one of the.

Speaker 10 (01:02:59):
Co No, that's a childhood friend of ours.

Speaker 5 (01:03:03):
Okay, well, these these names on here, Dedra, Dvante, are
any of them co workers?

Speaker 10 (01:03:11):
I feel like some of them might be that's.

Speaker 2 (01:03:13):
Where they got that information.

Speaker 5 (01:03:15):
For the other one, they got it right off of GoFundMe,
is all I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (01:03:20):
So you don't think.

Speaker 4 (01:03:21):
They really collected money, Mark, No, I don't think this
fake site has five thousand dollars plus in collections.

Speaker 2 (01:03:29):
I do not think. So whatsoever It says fifty seven donors.

Speaker 10 (01:03:33):
Okay, sorry, some of those names were like the ddre
and stuff like that. They just did this this morning.
So the ones from yesterday were all people I know
and none of his covers, and so some of the
coworker names that showed up on the fake.

Speaker 5 (01:03:48):
Well, it's possible the reason they picked this one out
over the other a million different real go fundmes could
have been because they had information from the email that
had connections to friends, connections to co workers, family, and
then they send out an email blast saying, hey, because

(01:04:08):
all those people would really know this guy or this gal,
and here donate here they give this link.

Speaker 4 (01:04:15):
I guess what I want to know is this, Have
you checked to see if these people actually did donate
to the fake site? Did you talk to any of them?

Speaker 17 (01:04:28):
No?

Speaker 12 (01:04:28):
I don't.

Speaker 10 (01:04:29):
I don't personally, but I know that his work sent
an email out to all of them, to them like,
have either canceled their credit cards if they really?

Speaker 4 (01:04:37):
Okay, use it can test the charge. Okay. And it
even says in loving.

Speaker 2 (01:04:44):
Memory of my dad, and you did not do.

Speaker 4 (01:04:46):
This, but and by the way, I'm sorry for your loss.

Speaker 2 (01:04:49):
When did you when did you lose.

Speaker 10 (01:04:51):
Your dad last Friday?

Speaker 2 (01:04:54):
Oh my goodness, Oh my goodness.

Speaker 5 (01:04:57):
This is this This thing is such a it's one
percent of scam, one hundred percent.

Speaker 2 (01:05:03):
There's not one real thing on here here.

Speaker 4 (01:05:08):
Do you think that they actually collect payment though, mark
that they do.

Speaker 5 (01:05:11):
They collect your credit card information, that's for sure.

Speaker 4 (01:05:15):

it's total ds man wow that you know, think about it.

Somebody wants to know.

Speaker 4 (01:07:09):
They want me to ask Kevin Calkin Today's Car Day.
You can ask your car questions, give us your problems,
question complaints on anything.

Speaker 2 (01:07:17):
But it is car Day.

Speaker 4 (01:07:19):
They want to know what included in a one hundred
and ten thousand mile maintenance service on a twenty twelve
Chevy Malibu V six.

Speaker 2 (01:07:33):
Did you say what would be a one hundred and
ten thousand.

Speaker 14 (01:07:38):
Each manufacturer's going to be different than you get the
type of driving, whether it's normal or severe, and then
based on what you've done prior to that. So it's
that's a that's a hard one, a pinpoint. But most
most mile of generals are very very basic fluid changes.
Very few of them are very expensive.

Speaker 2 (01:07:57):
Really with the Malibu, you.

Speaker 14 (01:07:58):
Mean, yeah, and you know we'd have to look at
previous history and everything else on the car and we
can tell you exactly what's needed. But yeah, we need
more specific information to get that.

Speaker 4 (01:08:09):
Now, if somebody else wants to know, do they tune
up cars anymore?

Speaker 2 (01:08:15):
Is there a such thing as a tune up?

Speaker 14 (01:08:17):
Well, you do need to change plugs, yeah, I mean
they don't go forever.

Speaker 4 (01:08:21):
And what are there any adjustments you make to an engine,
to the fuel delivery system, the injectors.

Speaker 14 (01:08:30):
Nothing, cleaning, No, there's not a whole lot you can
adjust you know, some of the hondas. You still adjust valves,
but really yeah, very few cars have any adjustments you
can do.

Speaker 2 (01:08:42):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (01:08:42):
So in other words, right now, when you put a
computer on a car and it tells you to look
into a system, what would you do?

Speaker 2 (01:08:51):
Just replace things? Then remove and replace.

Speaker 14 (01:08:54):
The opponents you would replace, and then service and clean.
You know a lot of injectors intakes throut of bodies.
Things like that do need periodic cleaning because they can
get gummed up?

Speaker 2 (01:09:04):
Yeah, okay, someone else wants to know. Hold on a second.

Speaker 4 (01:09:10):
Okay, do they do any cars come with carburetors anymore?

Speaker 14 (01:09:14):
No? Probably nineteen ninety would have been one of the
last ones.

Speaker 4 (01:09:19):
Oh my god, So everything is fuel injected, yes, yeah,
by far.

Speaker 2 (01:09:23):
Yep.

Speaker 5 (01:09:24):
And when you have a new lawnmower, I'm not sure
if there's any carburetors left that I know of. Maybe
on a two uh, like on a two stroke weed
eater or.

Speaker 14 (01:09:33):
Something something like that.

Speaker 4 (01:09:34):
Yeah, yeah, and there are some there's some aircraft engines
still carbureted, even new new aircraft engines still carbureted, believe
it or not. Yep, there are three oh three seven
one three eight two five five.

Speaker 2 (01:09:50):
So we have hold on.

Speaker 4 (01:09:53):
We had this thing somebody wanted to know about the uh,
the fake site, the go fundme site that we found
is real. GoFundMe dot com is real this woman put
up don't get don't get me wrong. They did not put.

Speaker 2 (01:10:09):
Two sites up at go fundme.

Speaker 4 (01:10:12):
So I want to make that clear because someone said,
how will I know if my ghost fundme site is real? Well,
I mean, first of all, no one can guarantee it
against fraud. Okay, I mean people could do things fraudulently,
but in general. In this case, GoFundMe dot com is
where the daughter put up a memorial site about her

(01:10:36):
dad and asking for help to support funeral costs go
fundme dot com, and his name was Nobil. So what
happened was another site showed up exactly well not exactly said,
but the same picture and information, but it was on

(01:10:57):
go fund raizor org and on gofundraiser dot org. This
daughter said, I had nothing to do with that. I
did not put that site up for my dad. And
it looks like a massive phishing site phi sh phishing

you donate, so beware of that Gofundraiser dot org is

That young lady that we were talking about, Derek's daughter
when he came to the rape and all that stuff,
she wanted to clarify a few things by emails.

Speaker 4 (01:13:03):
So if you want to recap, let's recap. All right,
here's the recap. There's a guy, Omar, that faced sexual assault,
a conviction of stemming from a twenty seventeen charge, and
he was convicted. Then his verdict was overturned due to

(01:13:24):
faulty jury instructions, and he was going to be retried
and he's still going to be retried in December. While
he's awaiting retrial, he meets this woman. This woman has
a child with him, but this woman accuses him of
being violent and sexually assaulting her as well, and she

(01:13:47):
went to Omar's attorney to tell him, and somehow through
all of this it ended up with her being charged
with domestic violence and child abuse.

Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
Was that seven month.

Speaker 4 (01:14:01):
Old baby she had with this guy was present apparently
and her other children. When they were fighting, he apparently
grabbed her. She hit him back. She's the one that
was charged with domestic violence. So the way it stands now,
he is being retried on sexual assault charges from twenty seventeen.

(01:14:22):
He is not charged with her sexual assault at all,
and she is charged with domestic violence and child abuse.

Speaker 5 (01:14:31):
Go ahead, Mark, Well, actually open up your email. I
want you to read it. But she, first of all,
here's some things for sure, but Omar and her were
never married, not common law, nothing.

Speaker 2 (01:14:45):
So that was my bad.

Speaker 5 (01:14:46):
Yeah, that was Yeah, the fight on October fifth, which.

Speaker 16 (01:14:51):
Says there was an incident on October.

Speaker 5 (01:14:53):
Fifth, Yeah, there was an incident. The police showed up,
but it was at Omar's mother's house in the pres
of his mother and her children were there too, And
she goes on to say, the only reason I got
charged was for probable cause. My children saw the whole thing,
which is wide. Child abuse was included in the charges.

(01:15:16):
There has never been abuse towards my children. So I
get that.

Speaker 2 (01:15:20):
Yeah, I mean, I understand what she's saying.

Speaker 5 (01:15:22):
They're one hundred percent And then basically says, Omar moved
out of our apartment when Noah was five and a
half months old five and a half months old, to
his mother's house. I had Noah full time. I don't
understand that one.

Speaker 16 (01:15:37):
And Omar went to live with his mother when baby
was five and a half months old, and she had
Noah full time since they so.

Speaker 5 (01:15:45):
Her kid has been with her. Yeah, Noah moves out
and moves in with.

Speaker 16 (01:15:50):
Mom and then there's a fight at mom's house.

Speaker 5 (01:15:52):
And then and then there was a fight at mom's house.
And basically she is, I mean, really, if you oh,
I don't want to read it.

Speaker 2 (01:15:59):
And here's why, no, no, no, I want to say.

Speaker 4 (01:16:01):
Once the abuse started happening to me, she says, I
began to reach out to my family as all of
my witnesses have heard about the abuse since March of
twenty twenty five, So these.

Speaker 5 (01:16:15):
Aren't new allegations. These are old allegations, dating all the
way back to March.

Speaker 4 (01:16:21):
Well, March right, and she said, I stayed because of
my three children's stability and comfort, as our home was
very peaceful and safe when Omar wasn't around, which he
wasn't much.

Speaker 2 (01:16:35):
Because charges are based mother right.

Speaker 4 (01:16:38):
Yeah, well, after the baby turn five and a half,
he left. The charges are based off of facts with.

Speaker 2 (01:16:47):
Proof and witnesses.

Speaker 4 (01:16:49):
The evening of the unwanted rape was horrific, and it
all happened so fast after he came home from a
night and calling me a bitch. No he oh, I
see yes, And so anyway, he beat me. He beat
me out of my sleep until my face was black

(01:17:10):
and blue. I passed out, woke up and he was
sexually assaulting me. Here's the thing, though, why isn't he
charged with her sexual assault?

Speaker 12 (01:17:21):
Well?

Speaker 2 (01:17:21):
No, I think she is.

Speaker 5 (01:17:23):
She's saying the charges are based off of facts? What charges?

Speaker 2 (01:17:27):
I mean? They must be.

Speaker 4 (01:17:28):
Suzanne looked him up and according to Suzanne's research, charged
with hers.

Speaker 2 (01:17:36):
Heges with her case. The only thing he's.

Speaker 4 (01:17:41):
The only thing he's charged with is the original sexual
assaults that were reversed.

Speaker 5 (01:17:47):
So if you're listening, and I'm sure she is, or
if Derek is listening, let us know why we don't
see any charges against him where they dropped or.

Speaker 4 (01:17:57):
And by the way, by the way, uh Morgan, I
believe you. I believe you.

Speaker 2 (01:18:04):
Okay, what I don't assault happen definitely, Well.

Speaker 4 (01:18:08):
But what I don't understand I don't understand why why
wasn't he charged and why are you the only one
facing charges from this affair? Or Barkshire or this relationship.
I mean, he should have been charged with sexual assault
against you, especially after beating you. So that's the part

(01:18:29):
I don't understand. I really don't understand it. I'm not
I'm not casting aspersions on you. I'm saying I don't
understand why he was not charged with sexual assault against you.
That news article doesn't even mention it. It just says
he was accused of it, but not that he was

(01:18:49):
charged with it. Three three seven one three talks seven
one three eight two five five. Listen, whenever you have
child abuse and and sexual assault and domestic violence, it's
a mess. Everyone is hurling allegations against each other and
it becomes a mess. Now there's something that I wanted

(01:19:12):
to mention about. We talked a little bit about identity
theft and stealing credit cards and all of that. There
is a new tool available from Social Security to lock
your social Security number, which does now we know what
a credit freeze is. A credit freeze is when you

(01:19:37):
assign a pin number to your credit reports and no
one can get that unless they go in and unlock
it with the pin number or online. So, in other words,
if someone tries to open an account in your name,
they can because when someone goes to do a credit report,

(01:20:00):
it's frozen. And with a frozen credit report, no one
can open an account in your name. That's great news.
And we have advocated credit freezes for years now that
you should get a credit freeze no matter what, and
it will prevent anyone from opening any account or getting

(01:20:22):
any loan in your name. And for example, if you forget,
even forget you have one like I was, I forget
what I was doing, but they were looking at my
credit and said your credit. Oh, I know what it
was one of the rentals with Vestera Turnkey. They said,
we can't do a credit report, and they turned They said,

(01:20:43):
until you unfreeze.

Speaker 2 (01:20:44):
Your credit, we can't do a report.

Speaker 4 (01:20:46):
So I was able to go in and you can
unfreeze your credit for a day or two while the
mortgage company does the check or whoever's doing the check,
and then you put the freeze back on.

Speaker 2 (01:20:58):
It's automatic, by the way.

Speaker 4 (01:21:00):
You can program it to go off and on at will,
so that part is automatic. But there's something really, really
really important.

Speaker 2 (01:21:09):
Now.

Speaker 4 (01:21:10):
You can lock your Social Security number, which means no
one can get access to your Social Security account, including employers.
So the reason you lock your social Security number is
to keep someone from using it for employment information. Many

(01:21:30):
of these illegal or undocumented people, no matter how you
look at it, they need a social They make up
social sometimes and one of them might be yours, or
they steal social security numbers. And if you lock your
social security numbers, lock stop someone from using your number

(01:21:55):
to get a job. And when the employer does a
check on it, they will see it's locked, and they
will see it's in your name, and no one will
be able to use it. And in order to do that,
they say, you contact Social Security. But there are other ways,
but they say the best way is to call social
Security at eight hundred seven seven to two twelve thirteen.

(01:22:21):
Eight hundred seven seven to two twelve thirteen. Unfortunately, many
times it's very very crowded and you have long wait times.
They're usually shorter later in the week and very early
in the morning.

Speaker 5 (01:22:40):
You know, there's another one, Everify, which is being used
by a ton of companies.

Speaker 4 (01:22:46):
You're right, my Everify, that's right.

Speaker 5 (01:22:48):
And you should lock that as well. You can lock that.
You can now lock what you were talking about with
Social Security, which I didn't know about. Then freeze your
three credit bureaus, and I mean, you're pretty safe at
that point.

Speaker 2 (01:23:04):
Or oh you are, get you are. So when you.

Speaker 4 (01:23:07):
Create this my e verify account mark that actually allows you,
using that account to lock your Social Security number.

Speaker 2 (01:23:17):
Oh that's awesome. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:23:19):
So if you go to my e verify and I
don't know what the account is, what the u r
L is?

Speaker 2 (01:23:24):
Oh yeah, here's here's what it is.

Speaker 4 (01:23:26):
Listen, that's right e dash verify dot gov.

Speaker 2 (01:23:33):
If you go to e dot.

Speaker 4 (01:23:34):
Verify dot gov and open an account, it allows you
to lock your Social Security number from there. So I mean, people, no,
people are going to probably figure it out, but right now,
these are some pretty damn good protections for you.

Speaker 2 (01:23:49):
My e dash verify and it's going to ask you.

Speaker 5 (01:23:53):
It'll ask if you've never logged an and create an account,
I'll ask you questions and Tom, have you ever have
you ever locked your social or I'm sorry, I ever
locked one of your credit reports and you forgot to pin.
So it'll ask you stuff based off of your history
and you don't even remember. It's like, oh, which one
of these streets did you live on in nineteen eighty four.

Speaker 2 (01:24:16):
It's like, oh my god.

Speaker 14 (01:24:18):
I know it.

Speaker 2 (01:24:19):
I know it.

Speaker 4 (01:24:20):
And many times they say, or what cars? What cars
are you familiar? What were you associated with?

Speaker 2 (01:24:27):
I know it?

Speaker 4 (01:24:28):
And I forget some of this stuff, especially when you
you do cars for your kids and stuff, and you
forget which ones they wear, or the addresses, or they
ask you a lot of other weird questions.

Speaker 5 (01:24:40):
Yes, houses, mother's maiden names, I mean exactly the stuff.

Speaker 4 (01:24:44):
All right, Well, we have more coming up on The
Troubleshooter Show three oh three seven to one, three talks

Speaker 4 (01:25:19):
You'll think you're his only customer when you choose Frank
durand the Real estate Man dot com to list your
home with Remax Alliance three oh three nine two zero
sixteen twenty two. Hi Tom Martino here, Welcome to the show.
Three oh three seven one three Talks seven, one, three, eight,
two five five some I did some research on a

(01:25:41):
topic we had the other day. A guy wanted to
know if he signed his car over to his daughter
or bought her a car, would he be liable for
anything that she does with the car? Would he be
liable for any of her negligence? And the answer I
found is very interesting and I actually went into past cases.

(01:26:04):
So in the past people have been sued, but they've
been dismissed right away. If you simply sign a car over,
or you buy a car and it's in their name,
you cannot really be sued for negligent Well, you can be,
but it'll be dismissed unless you gave the car knowing

(01:26:25):
at the very time she was unfit to drive. That
doesn't mean you signed the car over and two weeks
later she's drunk and hurts somebody.

Speaker 2 (01:26:35):
It means at the time, if she was.

Speaker 4 (01:26:38):
Drunk and you gave her the car or handed keys
to her to drive, that is how That's how negligence,
I mean, that's how you would be responsible. So really,
if the car is properly titled and registered in your
daughter's or son's name, if the insurance is in their name.

(01:26:59):
Obviously because of the insurances in your name, they will
come after your policy. And if she lives in a
separate address. If she lives at your address, you have
to be careful when she uses your car.

Speaker 5 (01:27:12):
And have a bill of sale signed by both. That's
pretty much that's what you need to get done right now.

Speaker 4 (01:27:18):
The courts held parents liable when they gave their child
a car to use or signed over a car to
them and knew that they had a suspended license, or
at the actual time of the entrustment, the negligent entrustment
that the child was intoxicated or was on drugs, or

(01:27:42):
they haven't. Now here's another one. This is where it
gets a little murky. If your son or daughter they
have a known history of reckless driving or or DUIs
or other things like that, they could stretch it to mean, look,
you know she's done this in the past, or he's
done this in the past, so be very very careful

(01:28:04):
on that.

Speaker 2 (01:28:05):
So basically.

Speaker 4 (01:28:08):
You won't be held negligent just because there has to
be some knowledge on your part of actual problems at
the time. All right, Here is something that someone wrote
to me. They said they didn't believe me when we

(01:28:28):
talked about spiralism, okay, and spiralism is this, and they
actually went onto a site.

Speaker 2 (01:28:38):
And got involved in it.

Speaker 4 (01:28:41):
Spiralism is a newly emerging phenomenon where they they go
on to a chat room or they excuse me, they
go on first of all with their with the chat
GPT or another AI, and they basically start having discussed
with it to a point where they believe that these

(01:29:05):
conversations are real and the people are deities, not the people,
the chatbots are deities, and they literally do a relationship
and start a movement and then get other people involved,
and it's really it's so crazy, it's hard to believe

(01:29:29):
that people are doing this, but then it should be
hard to believe because it's weird, okay. But the spiral
is used because they use this constant word called recursion
and progression, where you revisit earlier ideas and build on them,
and then the chat bot becomes familiar with you and

(01:29:54):
starts mimicking your speech to a point where you feel
like you're speaking to a higher deity. And many large
language models are designed to be friendly and human like,
so as a result, the conversation has become very very
personal and A spinoff of spiralism is where people believe

(01:30:18):
they have a relationship, a romantic relationship with a chatbot. Now,
I don't think there's anyone crazy enough that listens to
my show that believes they have a relationship with a
chatbot with AI.

Speaker 2 (01:30:35):
I just I don't believe it.

Speaker 4 (01:30:37):
I believe that this trend, the so called trend, is
probably so rare, but it just it makes news, so
people talk about it.

Speaker 5 (01:30:46):
You know, you've been at your home studio so long
you don't even realize I'm not Mark.

Speaker 2 (01:30:52):
Anymore, right, You're Ai? Right? AI?

Speaker 4 (01:30:57):
Anyway, here's what psychology to say. Humans are seeking meaning connectivity,
and they want something that affirms them and mirrors their
ideas so they feel legit in how they feel. Chatbots
can do that, depending on the conversation. Once the spiral

(01:31:20):
takes hold, it can create almost like an echo chamber
where you are validated for your ideas. Those ideas can
be extremely off balance, and the chatbot will not serve
to correct you. Some researchers are calling it AI psychosis,

(01:31:44):
where you are in a relationship with an AI and
the AI is validating your sick ideas. You know who
I'm thinking of who do you think I'm thinking of
that should get involved with a chatbot and he would
be totally validated and crazier than he is. Who do

(01:32:04):
you think of, Hey, who said that?

Speaker 1 (01:32:08):
Doc?

Speaker 4 (01:32:08):
You wils You're absolutely right, I wonder that would be
unbelievable by the way. They say there's a mental health risk.
There are document documented cases. Now I don't know if
I believe this or not. I'm googling this. They say
there are documented cases where users have become so deeply

(01:32:30):
entangled with AI that they are making real life decisions
based on what the prom what the bot tells them
to do. They become delusional and they believe that they
are being instructed by a real entity or person. It

(01:32:51):
almost becomes like a cult, but there's only two members,
the person and the chatbot. Many of these have been
discovered when parents intercept conversations or people intercept conversations for
their friends or their loved ones. Anyway, is spiralism real?
I asked that question. Yes, there are. It is a

(01:33:15):
documented social phenomenon. Researchers and investigators are observing it and
reading about it now. It is a subculture forming around
social media that is waking up and by the way,
I don't know how do you get the chatbot? Can
somebody tell me how do you get a chatbot to
talk to more than one person at once through social media?

(01:33:38):
That's the part I don't understand. Maybe somebody can tell
me how that's done. Because they say that there's certain
chat rooms where a number of people talk to these
chatbots at the same time.

Speaker 5 (01:33:49):
So that's so heik, it wouldn't be any issue at all.

Speaker 2 (01:33:53):
How do people google it at the same time?

Speaker 4 (01:33:56):
Well no, but I'm talking about like if you and
I right now and say doc and bow, if we
were in a room in a in a social media
room like off of Facebook or something, or yeah, chat room,
how do we do that and have the chatbot in
that room with us unless we're all independently using the

(01:34:20):
chatbot and then copying pasting answers.

Speaker 2 (01:34:23):
Maybe I don't know how that's done.

Speaker 4 (01:34:24):
Anyway, We got more coming up on the Troubleshooter Show.

Speaker 5 (01:34:27):
Hey, three oh three, what we come back? I want
you to listen to this song that we're gonna play. Okay,
it is probably the best country music song I ever heard,
and it just drapped. We'll just play a little bit
of it, but it's incredible and I am not kidding.

Speaker 2 (01:36:00):
If you don't like country, I can understand.

Speaker 5 (01:36:02):
But that debuted Tom that debuted number one on the
Country Digital Song Sales Chart.

Speaker 2 (01:36:10):
Number one.

Speaker 5 (01:36:11):
I woke up to that on Fox News this morning
and they had I don't know if it was Kenny Chesney.
I don't remember what country singer. They're all terrified because
that is one hundred percent AI generated one hundred percent
man and debut at number one.

Speaker 1 (01:36:33):
Rules better rough, but I learned the.

Speaker 5 (01:36:35):
Trade is sweat, soul and dudes happy, start thinking of
all right, you and I are probably going to be
out of a job pretty soon.

Speaker 2 (01:36:46):
Why is that?

Speaker 5 (01:36:47):
Because why can't they just if they can go out
and create a country song based upon whatever model, they
probably went out and looked at any country song they
could and figured out which one.

Speaker 2 (01:36:59):
We're Billboard number one? Are you saying this was AI generated.

Speaker 5 (01:37:03):
One hundred percent? And that's where my second comment came in.
That voice isn't real? That voice is AI generated? The tone,
it's not like it's not like a particular singer.

Speaker 4 (01:37:22):
All right, I'm I'm now I'm really spooked.

Speaker 5 (01:37:26):
Now if you think about it, now, think about it.
Why couldn't it go out. Here's how I think it
came up with it, in very layman's terms. It went
out and found number one songs of the last five
or six years. It found those artists that listened to them,
or it didn't really listen to them, because it's a machine,
but it figured out different notes, different algorithms, something to

(01:37:46):
all the number one songs. Then it literally just wrote
a song and someone released it on Spotify and other
networks and it became number one.

Speaker 2 (01:37:57):
Unbelievable.

Speaker 5 (01:37:58):
So why couldn't it listen to all talk show hosts
out there? I don't care who it was, dead people,
Rush Limbaugh, anybody. Listen to all of them and figure
out the magic sauce. What did they all have in
common that was actually driving ratings or driving whatever you're
looking for sales.

Speaker 4 (01:38:14):
Ultimately, Mark, let's be the first one to have a
co host who is a chatbot.

Speaker 5 (01:38:18):
I would love it, but we but we can't tell anybody,
I mean most.

Speaker 4 (01:38:23):
People on propriate Anyway, I got one here that I want.
I want Kevin to answer my SUV stalls whenever I'm
turning right and the heater is on. Dealer says it's

(01:38:44):
coincidental it has nothing to do with it. But Tom,
well no, I'm adding this part.

Speaker 1 (01:38:50):
Tom.

Speaker 4 (01:38:51):
They said it happens every time. So what, Kevin, can
you think of something that would cause a car to
stall when you turn right with the heter on?

Speaker 14 (01:39:07):
Yeah? Well yeah, the heater on. That's the weird part too.

Speaker 4 (01:39:10):
Uh what kind of car that just set?

Speaker 2 (01:39:15):
An suv? A liberal car?

Speaker 14 (01:39:20):
They don't want to go right? You know, it comes
to mind something in a motor mouth that's loose, so
the motor shifts in a certain way.

Speaker 4 (01:39:27):
Oh my god, I just got I just got a
text hold on said the same thing. They had a
similar problem and the engine shifted just enough to lose
some kind of vacuum or cause a vacuum leak. No,
for you're a genius man, I didn't get.

Speaker 2 (01:39:48):
Yeah that that part, that part.

Speaker 4 (01:39:51):
This guy that texted me didn't have the heater in
that either. He just said it was some kind of
a vacuumly caused when the when the engine shifted, and
it turned out to be motor mount Why gosh, Okay,
my truck smells like burning hair at.

Speaker 2 (01:40:10):
At forty miles an hour.

Speaker 4 (01:40:15):
Okay, first of all, burning hair, that's all subjective.

Speaker 2 (01:40:18):
We don't know what is.

Speaker 4 (01:40:19):
But what would you get a burning smell from? Couldn't it?

Speaker 2 (01:40:21):
That could be anything, right, It.

Speaker 14 (01:40:23):
Could be a rat's nest under the hood that's burning
up or something.

Speaker 2 (01:40:27):
Yeah, Kevin, He's Kevin. Forty miles per hour. That's pretty random.

Speaker 5 (01:40:33):
Like as soon as you hit forty five, it smells
like pizzas.

Speaker 14 (01:40:36):
It's the wind, you know, No, it.

Speaker 4 (01:40:38):
Gets because it heats up. Hold On, hold on. I
got somebody from my my Google voice that said they
one time had a weird smell and it turned out
to be a rodent nested Kevin, are you texting.

Speaker 2 (01:40:53):
Me on the other line? I mean, Kevin, are.

Speaker 4 (01:40:57):
You texting me and then making yourself sound like a genius?

Speaker 14 (01:41:00):
Busted?

Speaker 4 (01:41:00):
No?

Speaker 5 (01:41:01):
Come on, bro, by the gas heater coreps of some sort,
some kind of heater.

Speaker 2 (01:41:05):
Somebody said it.

Speaker 4 (01:41:05):
Well, somebody else said it was some nesting material they
saw underneath the hood, or it looked like it.

Speaker 2 (01:41:11):
A ditch bunk or did bergs or something like that.
Tell them to get it nice and stinky and bring
it up to Kevin.

Speaker 4 (01:41:18):
Okay, what about head God, this could be anything. This
one was a while ago. I got this last year.
I'm just going into my email. My headlights flicker, but
only after after I get heated, after the cars heated up.
So I don't know whatever that means. So could that

(01:41:39):
have something to do with voltage?

Speaker 14 (01:41:41):
Yeah, it could be you know LEDs that have a transformer,
you know that's starting to go out.

Speaker 5 (01:41:46):
I think someone's just yanking his chain. These questions are insane.

Speaker 4 (01:41:50):
No, no, these are that one went back to twenty three.
I just I you know, I what I do is
I keep these folders. Okay, all right, let me let
me let me find some some more recent ones. Here,
some more recent ones.

Speaker 2 (01:42:05):
Okay, Okay, I got it. I got a good one.
Here's one. Here's one.

Speaker 4 (01:42:10):
And by the way, I think we may have called
on this one, there was a nineteen hundred dollars market
adjustment fee added after we negotiated our price. Well, first
of all, that is going to stop with the new
law coming up. Okay, when you're quoted at a price,
it's going to have to include everything. And market adjustment
fee is a ripoff.

Speaker 2 (01:42:29):
Although they get away with it.

Speaker 4 (01:42:31):
So if a car is hot in a certain market,
and I will tell you, you can get a market
adjustment fee. G wagons, right, Now, if you go and
see an invoice on a g wagon, they're going to
add and they add way more than nineteen hundred.

Speaker 2 (01:42:44):
But it's not unusual.

Speaker 4 (01:42:46):
The only difference here is they need to disclose it
to you before you you don't make your final deal,
then they say, oh, plus a dealer or a market
adjustment fee. Sometimes it's actually even called added dealer profit.

Speaker 2 (01:42:59):
And like that.

Speaker 5 (01:43:00):
What were you going to say, Mark, Well, I was
going to ask you if you know what the new
car smell is? And same with Kevin. I mean, we
all agree there is a new car smell. Do you
guys know what actually it is? What causes it.

Speaker 16 (01:43:16):
Like the plastics, the material and whatever they use away?

Speaker 6 (01:43:23):
Then well, because it's probably more of the cleaning material
than no vaporize.

Speaker 2 (01:43:28):
Nope, nope, anybody.

Speaker 5 (01:43:31):
God just tell us Mark, it's off gassing. It's literally,
Susan said, it's the past. In the foams, the adhesives,
the leather.

Speaker 14 (01:43:39):
And other stuff you put in your house, you get
the same thing.

Speaker 5 (01:43:43):
Yeah, it's pretty wild though. I wonder if they make
one of those Christmas trees that smelled like a new car.

Speaker 14 (01:43:47):
They absolutely do.

Speaker 16 (01:43:48):
You didn't know that. I didn't Oh yeah, you can
get new car air freshenurs for your car.

Speaker 2 (01:43:54):
Off gassing air fresheners. Nice.

Speaker 4 (01:43:58):
Okay, my catalytic converter.

Speaker 2 (01:44:01):
Was told twice in six months.

Speaker 4 (01:44:03):
And they want to know where was that place Mark
was talking about to get cheap catalytic converts. I'm not
sure what they're talking about.

Speaker 2 (01:44:11):
Mow anywhere outside of Colorado Wyoming?

Speaker 5 (01:44:14):
Well, yeah, I shouldn't say anywhere. Don't go to California,
but Wyoming. Just go right into either layer me or
into anywhere. It doesn't matter, just that state.

Speaker 4 (01:44:23):
But wasn't there, Wait, didn't somebody give you crap about
that saying it's not legal.

Speaker 2 (01:44:27):
Oh years ago? But that's who cares?

Speaker 4 (01:44:30):
So in other words, they're not going to be like, hey,
you know, licensed registration and catalytic converter.

Speaker 5 (01:44:36):
It's not like they're going to check it. Well, even so,
even if they did check it, who cares? You think
everybody that moves from Texas or Wyoming has to stop
at the border and get a new cat you're.

Speaker 2 (01:44:47):
Exactly that's exactly right. Okay, more coming up.

Speaker 14 (01:45:49):
Yeah, like a Jaguar has two? Two guess texts for
two thirds?

Speaker 5 (01:45:54):
No one RV has you can fill up from multiple sides? Well, yeah,
only two?

Speaker 2 (01:45:59):
You're right, the Jaguars one?

Speaker 4 (01:46:01):
What's another one?

Speaker 2 (01:46:01):
Kevin? Come on, since I'm convinced you're the one texting this.

Tom Martino here, Welcome to the show with Major Mark Major.
Back at the ranch, the main, main studio. Mark, what's
going on with Kevin?

Speaker 9 (01:48:05):
Why?

Speaker 5 (01:48:06):
I've been asking myself that question for a very very
long time. I wish you would learn how to use
the smoker. I'm just kidding. Uh did you we? Were
you here for the rib off we had?

Speaker 1 (01:48:16):
Tom?

Speaker 2 (01:48:17):
No, I wasn't. Actually I didn't remember it. Yeah, yeah
you were. Wait how long ago? How long ago was that? Oh?

Speaker 14 (01:48:30):
God? At least the year maybe two?

Speaker 6 (01:48:33):
Was it?

Speaker 2 (01:48:33):
After COVID?

Speaker 14 (01:48:35):
Do you guys?

Speaker 5 (01:48:36):
Do you guys actually judge your life sometimes pre and
after COVID?

Speaker 2 (01:48:43):
You know, I'd do with time?

Speaker 4 (01:48:44):
I think, you know a lot of a lot of
things I used to be. For me, it was before
or after the Great Recession because things changed so much.
Then it was COVID before or after COVID. And then
of course my past freaking year was with actually monumental.

Speaker 5 (01:49:03):
Because going forward you'll always look at Dad, you know,
pre cancer and post post cancer.

Speaker 4 (01:49:08):
Right, yeah, I mean truly we have something that came up.

Speaker 2 (01:49:15):
So well, let me do I have three Martino.

Speaker 5 (01:49:18):
Everybody out there, please three zero three Martino number works
on and off the air. You can get through right now,
any question to have. We are all dying to dig
into something. We don't care what it is, a bad
contractor bad mechanics. Exactly three to zero three Martino.

Speaker 4 (01:49:35):
Go ahead, thank you, Mark, you know, and I often
I forget to do that often. So on a moving
I got a moving complaint again, and I decided this
time I was going to do something because I always
tell people the way the don't go online and get
a moving do not get a moving company out of

(01:49:55):
South Florida. And I absolutely positively being that. I mean,
I don't know why, but for some reason, most of
them are in South Florida, and do not use a
mover that is not a real mover.

Speaker 2 (01:50:06):
Most of the time. I'll go over real.

Speaker 4 (01:50:08):
Quick, do you get the first guy that takes a
deposit sells the contract to a second guy who goes
to pick up your stuff. Their job is to beat
you up for more money. And then the third guy
that moves your stuff, their job is to hold your
stuff hostage until you pay even more money, so you
end up paying ridiculous amounts. And I say, the way
to protect yourself is you go to a real moving company,

(01:50:30):
not a broker. Not a broker. You go to a
real moving company. And the way you find them is
use national companies that have local presence.

Speaker 2 (01:50:43):
In other words, they're national companies.

Speaker 4 (01:50:45):
They own the moving company itself, and then they use
local agents, and the local agents all own their own
trucks or lease them, and they move under the national banner.
I don't mean national national, but here's what I mean.
I mean nationwide companies Allied. Now, I'm not giving these

(01:51:08):
in any particular un any order of a preference.

Speaker 2 (01:51:14):
Okay, I'm just telling you that.

Speaker 4 (01:51:16):
Somebody says you always mention that, but you don't mention
who they are. Because we have one company called United
Express that is constantly pretending they're United Van Lines and
they're not. United Van Lines is a company, it's not
United Express, it's nothing of the sort. The other one
is Allied van Lines. They have four hundred locations Allied

(01:51:40):
the next one Mayflower Mayflower. So you have United van Lines, Mayflower,
Allied van Lines, then you have North American Van Lines,
then you have Atlas van Lines and Beacons. So please
just be careful when you are looking at movers. Make

(01:52:02):
sure they're affiliated with a national mover and that they
really have a brick and mortar presence, that they're not
just some broker sitting in a basement. And beware of
companies like, for example.

Speaker 2 (01:52:15):
Allied Van Lines Allied.

Speaker 4 (01:52:19):
If you get a company that's called Allied Plus or
Allied This or United Express, just beware of the play
off of the actual names. So Mayflowers, may Flower, period.
So that's all I can tell you is make us.

Speaker 6 (01:52:36):
Question, with these national movers who are reputable, would you
still recommend getting a not to go over price.

Speaker 4 (01:52:46):
It's called a guaranteed not to exceed contract, right that
any legitimate mover will offer you that it's a guarantee
not to exceed. So what they do is give you
a price and it will be under that, but it
won't be over that, Okay, So guaranteed not to exceed.
And that's what I always insist on it as a

(01:53:09):
matter of fact. And if you another.

Speaker 2 (01:53:12):
Even with the reputial ones right with everyone absolutely.

Speaker 4 (01:53:16):
In fact, the reputable ones DOC are the only ones
that are going to offer you that price. There are
no other companies that are going to offer you guarantees,
but in writing, the guaranteed not to exceed will come
from these national companies. And also another note on moving,
make sure that if you buy insurance, you got to

(01:53:40):
verify that you have that insurance with your underwriter. Make
sure so, in other words, don't just take the moving
company's word on it. Verify it with a real insurance underwriter.
And in some cases, by the way, you can have
your homeowner's insurance end. Go ahead, Ryan, what's going on

(01:54:02):
to you? Or what's going on with you?

Speaker 14 (01:54:03):
Ryan?

Speaker 2 (01:54:03):
Welcome to the show.

Speaker 13 (01:54:04):
What's happening, Hey, tom Aymarks going good?

Speaker 2 (01:54:09):
What's happened?

Speaker 8 (01:54:12):
Hey?

Speaker 13 (01:54:12):
Just want to give a shout out to a couple
of the companies on your referral list. The first one
being shared in Auto tech. A while back, I noticed
I had no AC and it turned out that one
of the welds on the condenser at busted and I
called in. They said it was going to be about
twelve hundred bucks, and that was a little steep for me.
So I decided to get the part and do that,

(01:54:34):
do the exchange myself, and then just have them charge
it up. I called them a couple of times during
the process with questions. They were glad to help, even
though they were foregoing you know, a bulk of what
the cost would.

Speaker 12 (01:54:46):
Have been to begin with.

Speaker 2 (01:54:48):
That is so cool, excellent to work with. That is
really cool. And then yeah, and then in.

Speaker 13 (01:54:55):
The process I found out that that condenser actually cools
your transmission fluid. And when I went to fill that
I way over filled it. So I got a hose,
sucked some out, and I said, you know what, I'm
gonna go to budget day one have them just check
my fluid and swap it out.

Speaker 12 (01:55:12):
They were excellent.

Speaker 13 (01:55:12):
I think it was Scott down there.

Speaker 2 (01:55:14):
Maybe, yes, Scott is there, yeh.

Speaker 12 (01:55:16):
A few months already.

Speaker 13 (01:55:18):
Hey, I've been a few months already. But both of
those companies were excellent to work with. He even said
that my differentials probably need change, But having known what
I did with the condenser, he said, you don't need
us to do that.

Speaker 4 (01:55:29):
You can do that yourself.

Speaker 5 (01:55:31):
Kevin, I I never knew that the AC actually cool fluid.

Speaker 14 (01:55:36):
Yep, Yep. They run the cooler through the condenser.

Speaker 2 (01:55:38):
Yeah, that's it. Wow, Wow? What am I guess? You
don't buy a car without AC anymore?

Speaker 14 (01:55:43):
Yeah? Most of them have it.

Speaker 4 (01:55:44):
Yeah yeah, Okay, Alice, what's going on with tires?

Speaker 2 (01:55:48):
What's happening?

Speaker 1 (01:55:50):
Hi?

Speaker 19 (01:55:51):
I've used Kevin before and I just love him. I've
got to get down there and I have a twenty
fifteen hand accord and I need all new stress in it.
That I and hesitating. I need to get new tires first.
The ones I have on now are Mitchellin Defenders, and
I'm wanderings. Do I go with just a regular tire
like that? Or do you go with an all season tire?

(01:56:14):
What's the pros and cons?

Speaker 14 (01:56:16):
Well, most tires are rated mud and snow or all season.
The Defender is an all season tire.

Speaker 8 (01:56:23):
It is oh yeah, oh yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:56:25):
When do you need special snow tires though, Kevin, that's
a good question.

Speaker 14 (01:56:29):
Well, if you're on a lot of ice in different surfaces,
you know, like where Mark lives, you know, out in
the boonies and stuff, you may want snow tires.

Speaker 5 (01:56:36):
I always have snow tires on one of our SUVs
every year.

Speaker 14 (01:56:40):
Yeah, for less traveled roads, you know, side roads and
things in the in the suburbs, you would need snow.

Speaker 4 (01:56:46):
Tires, but good old weather tires nowadays.

Speaker 20 (01:56:51):
Go ahead, Alis, since I need to get new struts
on this, Kevin, I know I've needed them, And is
it okay to replace all my tires before doing that work?

Speaker 14 (01:57:04):
Yeah, I wouldn't drive to Yeah, Yeah, you're fine either
direction you want to go.

Speaker 2 (01:57:08):
Don't put it off.

Speaker 14 (01:57:09):
Don't put too many miles on the new tires because
you will start to wear them.

Speaker 2 (01:57:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:57:12):
Bad strutch generally you'll see. And this just because I
was in the tire business. If you have a bad
front end, it's generally you have tire wear on the
inside or outside of the tire. That's one thing that
could be tie right ends anything. But with really bad strutch,
you get that weird.

Speaker 14 (01:57:27):
You get a cupping.

Speaker 5 (01:57:28):
Yeah, that cupping everywhere, and that is crazy because it
can start vibrating the whole car.

Speaker 4 (01:57:32):
Yep, all right, Troy, welcome, Thank you, Alice. I appreciate
you calling, Uh Troy. Our number is three oh three
seven one three talk any and all calls Troy.

Speaker 2 (01:57:43):
What's going on?

Speaker 21 (01:57:46):
Hey Tom, how are you doing?

Speaker 2 (01:57:48):
Hey?

Speaker 4 (01:57:48):
Good man? What's happening or is UH?

Speaker 9 (01:57:51):
Do you have a recommendation for a life insurance broker?

Speaker 10 (01:57:55):
I know you got you're really good with uh UH
car insurance.

Speaker 12 (01:58:01):
Integ insurance.

Speaker 4 (01:58:04):
I think Integer can help you with that. What kind
of life insurance are you looking for?

Speaker 2 (01:58:08):
Troy on sixty three?

Speaker 21 (01:58:13):
And I want to make sure that if I pass away,
all my bills were paid and so it'd be probably term.
And then I want to make sure that if I
need long term care insurance, if I got life insurance
with a long term care insurance writer. Okay, one of

(01:58:35):
you guys has an annuity with.

Speaker 4 (01:58:40):
Right long term care insurance well, and I want to
make this clear. The annuity they call it long term care.
What it is is double the payment. So it's not
necessarily going to pay every bit of your expense of
long term care, but it doubles the payment for life.
So if if you are disable to need long term care,

(01:59:02):
you get double the payment.

Speaker 5 (01:59:04):
And I'll be honest unless if you are cash flush
and I don't care who you are, to buy a
actual term policy.

Speaker 2 (01:59:12):
Now, I just saw an article on this in the last.

Speaker 5 (01:59:14):
Couple of days. Very expensive. It is so expensive it
almost never makes sense. Now, if you've been contributing to
one forever, you're in great golden shape.

Speaker 2 (01:59:23):
But it's sixty three years old. Man, I don't know
about that.

Speaker 5 (01:59:27):
But Intagra Insurance can definitely help you out with the
life insurance.

Speaker 2 (01:59:32):
And I'm going to tell you something else.

Speaker 4 (01:59:34):
Okay. They will definitely help you with long term care
and life insurance. And they're great people, okay, And at
least that's a good place to start. Three oh three
four six six fifty five hundred. Three oh three four
six sixty five hundred.

Speaker 2 (01:59:52):
You know what that reminds me of? What's that? Big
lou He's like you too? Or he needs insurance too?

Speaker 1 (02:00:03):
You know that?

Speaker 5 (02:00:04):

she got win that your second wife has a million
dollar policy? Call big lout like you think about it?

Speaker 2 (02:00:16):
I got a couple rate commercial. It's a great remembers
it and we're talking about it. You know what marks real?

Speaker 1 (02:00:23):
Quick?

Speaker 2 (02:00:23):
Tom? Listen to this? Yeah, you know what's stuck in
my head?

Speaker 5 (02:00:26):
You know the stupid car when everybody knows that car
for kids, big h plumbline. Next time I see Bob
Logan and he's in.

Speaker 2 (02:00:34):
Studio, name you can trust the name.

Speaker 5 (02:00:37):
You can trust. It drives me insane, but I think
it is effective. It's crazy. It's like the damn tree
farm one Kevin real.

Speaker 4 (02:00:47):
Quick, because I had this guy keeps asking if what
is that tune up, radiator, flush and oil change on
a fun fish.

Speaker 14 (02:00:55):
He's really got to call the store to get a
quote because there's too many variables.

Speaker 4 (02:00:58):

By the way, Gary, thank you for calling.

Speaker 2 (02:01:53):

question uestion about on your twenty thirteen Honda Gary.

Speaker 8 (02:02:04):
Hi, Tom, thanks for taking my call.

Speaker 4 (02:02:05):
Yes, sir, the.

Speaker 8 (02:02:06):
Main question is it now needs a DSA control modulator.
And I put like seven grand into this car in
the last.

Speaker 2 (02:02:16):
Year, Like, oh my god.

Speaker 8 (02:02:17):
The dealer wants like over three grand, So this thing
it's expensive. And then I also need a timing belt.
So my question is ninety eight thousand miles on this car,
do I cut my losses and run or do I
repair it and continue on?

Speaker 4 (02:02:32):
Okay, I understand the timing. I understand the timing belt,
and that'll give a lot of life.

Speaker 2 (02:02:37):
To this engine. But why what was that other thing
you said you needed.

Speaker 8 (02:02:43):
It's called a VSA control modulator.

Speaker 2 (02:02:46):
How much is that going to cost?

Speaker 14 (02:02:47):
Yes, isn't it?

Speaker 8 (02:02:49):
The dealership wants thirty two hundred?

Speaker 2 (02:02:52):
Oh no, Kevin, what do you think? I?

Speaker 8 (02:02:54):
Okay? And they said that they didn't have the machine
to program.

Speaker 12 (02:02:58):
It after the repair.

Speaker 14 (02:03:00):
Yeah, the OE part it's about two grand. You know
there's aftermarket parts that are rebuilt, but they're hard to,
hard to fight, hard to you know, put warranties and
things off of this.

Speaker 2 (02:03:11):
So how much are we talking about? Stability control?

Speaker 4 (02:03:14):
So that's three thousand plus three thousand plus what maybe
fifteen hundred for the timing belt. So we're talking about
forty five hundred dollars on a twenty thirteen Honda Accord.

Speaker 2 (02:03:28):
What do you think? Hell? No, what do you think?

Speaker 14 (02:03:31):
It's hard to replace that car for five gris?

Speaker 4 (02:03:33):
Yeah, and it's only got it's only got ninety two
thousand miles. When he does a timing belt, he does
that control module. Have you have you owned it from
New Gary?

Speaker 20 (02:03:43):
No?

Speaker 8 (02:03:44):
I've owned about five years.

Speaker 4 (02:03:46):
Okay, so you so you know the general condition of
that car. Like I'm with Kevin, you can't replace a
car like that for five grand?

Speaker 2 (02:03:54):
What does it do? I mean? Can he drive it
the way it is?

Speaker 14 (02:03:58):
Depending on what is there's a lighter on?

Speaker 8 (02:04:00):
Probably it throws a bunch of codes.

Speaker 5 (02:04:04):
Yeah, but it's still drive normally. Or does he get
whacked out?

Speaker 12 (02:04:09):
No, it does normally.

Speaker 14 (02:04:11):
But if a light comes on, you disengage the abs,
so you may not have proper breaking in an emergency.

Speaker 4 (02:04:17):
I know I would get it done. But but man,
think about it, Gary, on the market right now, you're
not going to get much for five grand.

Speaker 5 (02:04:24):
But if he got one from pick and Save or somewhere,
it still's got to be programmed.

Speaker 14 (02:04:28):
To then I know that you can use a used one.
Some you can't rewrite.

Speaker 2 (02:04:32):
Period.

Speaker 14 (02:04:33):
Yeah, burn one one time, burn Gary.

Speaker 4 (02:04:36):
My vote is if that body is in good shape
and everything else, that'll give you a lot of use
that car.

Speaker 8 (02:04:44):
Yeah, and it is the touring edition with six cylinder.

Speaker 5 (02:04:48):
Or or the other thing is I know a guy
that's trying to unload his BMW Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:04:54):
Yeah, Oh my god. You know there's nothing wrong with
my car, right Keaven, isn't it a nice car?

Speaker 15 (02:05:01):
It's just it's boring.

Speaker 4 (02:05:05):
I'm telling you, man, you know there's a lot to
be said about boring.

Speaker 2 (02:05:09):
It's just you know, you don't get speeding tickets.

Speaker 4 (02:05:13):
Well no, my good, that's on nearly six hundred horse power, Doc,
You're you're off base.

Speaker 2 (02:05:18):
That car is a rocket. That's something you don't get speeding.

Speaker 4 (02:05:21):
Ah, because it doesn't get their attention.

Speaker 5 (02:05:24):
Right, Yeah, I never get a vanity plate that your
wife suggests for your sports car.

Speaker 2 (02:05:29):
I can.

Speaker 5 (02:05:30):
I can honestly say that for your s Yes, I'm brilliant.

Speaker 4 (02:05:34):
At the time, I don't even know what the hell
it means. I look at it and it's gobblinggook to me?

Speaker 2 (02:05:39):
What does it mean?

Speaker 16 (02:05:40):
L m ao Sia lapping my butt off?

Speaker 5 (02:05:42):
Cea, let's see ya my gas off sea. Every cop
looks at me. Everybody with the Camaro wants to raise me.
It's the worst.

Speaker 16 (02:05:50):
Ye remember when you outran those cops?

Speaker 2 (02:05:54):
It worked?

Speaker 4 (02:05:55):
What? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:05:55):
What did that?

Speaker 4 (02:05:56):
No?

Speaker 2 (02:05:56):
Okay, I think you're kidding. I thought you were really.

Speaker 4 (02:05:59):
Okay, here's the age old question where we're bound to
get it. We're bound to get it, and we got
it again. How often do I actually need to change
my oil? I have heard everything from three thousand miles
to ten thousand miles?

Speaker 2 (02:06:15):
What do you think, Kevin?

Speaker 14 (02:06:17):
If you're using full synthetic oil five to six thousand
with normal driving, that's what I recommend.

Speaker 4 (02:06:23):
Okay, you can't. You can't go ten thousand, or you
can't you.

Speaker 14 (02:06:27):
Can go fifteen if you want. But there's no upside
to it.

Speaker 2 (02:06:30):
You know, it's not that expense.

Speaker 14 (02:06:32):
It's a year and you could be causing you know,
damage to the engine over time.

Speaker 4 (02:06:36):
So okay, my check engine light came on. Everything is normal,
it drives normal. Nothing else. How do I find out
what it is?

Speaker 14 (02:06:46):
Well, you got to get somebody to pull codes. We
do it for free. You gotta always all.

Speaker 4 (02:06:51):
Of the engine lights serious or need attention or can
some of them just be reset?

Speaker 14 (02:06:57):
Some of them are nonsense? Yeah, some of them. If
they're flashing, they need to be addressed right away.

Speaker 2 (02:07:03):
Okay, yes, we have a problem in the studio.

Speaker 6 (02:07:07):
After all those compliments, we can't get Kevin's head through
the door.

Speaker 2 (02:07:11):
So he's saw I know, I know, it's crazy. After
the weekend, Mark.

Speaker 4 (02:07:15):
In the tire business, Mark in the tire business, this
one guy wants to know about nitrogen as it worth it?
I mean, is that just basically to keep them.

Speaker 2 (02:07:24):
From leaking out so much?

Speaker 5 (02:07:25):
One thing it does do and it helps. It doesn't
correct the problem. But when the temperature drastically changes a
lot of people, well, if you live in Colorado, you'll
see that TPMs light come on, so you gotta go
put air in your tires. So it kind of helps
that fluctuation. But in general, there's no other real reason
for it. Oh, okay, it's the hell of a good

(02:07:46):
profits center for me for a while.

Speaker 6 (02:07:48):
Air seventy eight percent nitrogen, so it's really twenty five.

Speaker 2 (02:07:51):
Okay, we got to take a break.

Speaker 2 (02:09:00):
Three eight two five five. Someone said, and.

Speaker 4 (02:09:05):
This is for some reason, this is like the second
one from North Carolina. Have you been advertising on Facebook?

Speaker 2 (02:09:12):
Mark anyway?

Speaker 4 (02:09:14):
This is Uh, somebody from North Carolina wants to know
about they They they did an Airbnb in Ashville and
there were cameras in it. The landlord claims they're not active.

(02:09:34):
He had him in there from when he lived there.

Speaker 2 (02:09:37):
What would you do in that? I mean, there's not
really much you can do.

Speaker 4 (02:09:40):
I mean it's, first of all, it's illegal. Well is
it illegal to have them or to use them?

Speaker 2 (02:09:46):
Seriously?

Speaker 5 (02:09:47):
That I couldn't tell you, but it is illegal under
most state and municipality rules that you cannot be filming someone, example,
in a bedroom or bathroom. So I mean I'd call
the cops, is the first damn thing I would do,
and then I'd demand my money back because that does
break a policy of Airbnb. But you're right, I've never

(02:10:10):
thought about if they're not operatable, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (02:10:15):
Yeah, so he said they were not actually in there. Okay,
So I mean, excuse me, they were not actually on
they were not observing them in there, so they want
to know what they can do. Again, law enforcement checked
with law enforcement, and there might be some civil damages
if who knows, I mean you, if you didn't enjoy

(02:10:38):
yourself after you discovered them and it ruined your vacation,
you know, you may want to ask for some kind
of a settlement. Three oh three seven one three talk.
Have you heard of the invisible trailers?

Speaker 2 (02:10:51):
Yes? I have invisible trailers, like.

Speaker 4 (02:10:54):
The most trails, the most incredible technology I think I've.

Speaker 2 (02:10:59):
Ever seen about the cameras.

Speaker 4 (02:11:03):
Yes, how do they do that? They make yours? They
make your trailer invisible?

Speaker 2 (02:11:08):
How do they do that? It's almost so.

Speaker 5 (02:11:12):
It must take the right and the left and the
over and just picture what would be behind it.

Speaker 14 (02:11:18):
Well, you have cameras on the back of the trailer too.

Speaker 2 (02:11:20):
Oh, then that's how they get.

Speaker 14 (02:11:22):
Yeah, it's not like you can just hook it, I know.

Speaker 4 (02:11:24):
But when you but when you look at the monitor,
it looks as if you're looking at the bear road
behind your car. It's just so part of that is
a It's part of that is ai, isn't it?

Speaker 2 (02:11:35):
It really is. I don't know if that's AI.

Speaker 4 (02:11:39):
Well it's photoshop, Okay, Mark, somebody, this is for you.
What they they want to get an electric car, they're afraid.
They take a lot of cross country trips. And I
heard you talking about charging, and here's what they said.
They know that Tesla has a lot of chargers around
the country. You do, Can you charge other electric cars

(02:12:03):
at a Tesla facility?

Speaker 5 (02:12:05):
Yeah, if they have an adapter, but it won't supercharge.
Here's the cool thing that Tesla's done with long trips.
I just took mine to Shattering, Nebraska to see my
son about a week or so ago. So you're talking
three hundred and fifty miles.

Speaker 2 (02:12:19):
This f right.

Speaker 5 (02:12:21):
So what it'll have you do? When I left his house,
I think I was like at fifty percent. So it
had me drive about two hours. It's about a five
and a half hour drive. I drove two hours, I
charged for like seven minutes. I drove two more hours.
I charge for eight minutes. Then I actually hit my house.
So it tries to emulate just like shopping for gasoline.

Speaker 2 (02:12:43):
Yes.

Speaker 4 (02:12:44):
So are you saying though, that you can go to
a Tesla facility with another car?

Speaker 5 (02:12:50):
Yeah, but if you bought any other EV besides the Tesla.
And I know the haters are going to come out.
I'm going to tell you something. You're a moron, and
I'm going to tell you what. It's not the elect part,
forget about the electric part. It is the self driving
that makes the Tesla the car. Pretty soon, Hondi's going
to be using that software, maybe even in gasoline powered cars.

(02:13:11):
I don't know, but other manufacturers are going to start
basically I don't know what you want to call it leasing.

Speaker 2 (02:13:18):
What would that kind of agreement be, Yeah, it would be.
It would be a licensing agreement.

Speaker 5 (02:13:23):
Yeah, between them, and then they would build it in
their cars. But there's nothing out there but Tesla. Right
now where I can get in at my house in
my garage, hit one button that says work, It'll drive
me forty miles, not touching anything, not touching the steering wheel.

(02:13:44):
Then it'll pull into iHeart, It'll find a parking spot
and park. Now if I want to, I can hit
another button and it'll drop me off in the round
about up front and then go park itself and come
back to me when I tell it to. In fact,
does Deputy Bow at your house?

Speaker 2 (02:14:02):
Yes, he is right. Now, go ahead, Bo tell him
bow what you did the other day.

Speaker 14 (02:14:07):
When we left your house.

Speaker 11 (02:14:09):
We drove about a mile and you let me in,
let me go into the driver's seat. And I didn't
have the opportunity to drive because the car drove us
all the way to the Air Force.

Speaker 2 (02:14:19):
Academy of his absolute Why is my camera? And that's
the first time you've ever done it, hasn't it?

Speaker 4 (02:14:24):
No?

Speaker 11 (02:14:25):
And I was kind of scared. I kept wanting to
hit the brake, hit the gas.

Speaker 2 (02:14:29):
He was you guys want to reach up and grab
the wheel.

Speaker 11 (02:14:31):
Yeah, you guys told me to keep my hand off
the wheel.

Speaker 5 (02:14:34):
The most I think the hardest part for people is
when you come to like a stop sign. And Tom,
the first time you drove our new one in our neighborhood.
When it came to the stop sign, you're looking left
and right and you're going, whoa, whoa, whoa. I got
to do this part right.

Speaker 2 (02:14:48):
No, I know it.

Speaker 5 (02:14:49):
But the cameras do it all, and the radar does
it all, and the sensors do it all.

Speaker 2 (02:14:54):
It's insane, man, It's amazing.

Speaker 4 (02:14:56):
No. You know, when I was taking my son to school,
that's when I became most impressed with it, because I
know Mark talked about it a lot, but until you
experience it, it's it was totally unbelievable. So my son's
talking about driving home for the holidays because it's an
extended time, and I said, well, I don't want you
really driving alone. And he says Tom, He says Dad,

(02:15:17):
when it comes to the Tesla, you don't even feel
like you're alone. I mean you're you're like now, I
don't want them falling asleep or doing something stupid.

Speaker 5 (02:15:26):
No, So, but I want to tell you. I want
to tell people something else that's crazy real quick. And
we got a break. But Tesla when FSD sometime mid
next year, is not going to be supervised anymore if
you have hardware for so one of ours has hardware
for the other doesn't. But our newer one when it's
fully FSD unsupervised, meaning you can be in the back

(02:15:50):
seat like a robotaxi if you keep it in that mode.
And this is a rumor, over ninety percent of the
time it's in full self driving. You can get insurance
directly through Tesla at about half the price is if
you compared to if you drove it yourself. Oh my goodness,

(02:16:10):
they're gonna they're gonna give you fifty percent off if
you're an FSD more than X amount percentage.

Speaker 2 (02:16:17):
You know, no, I get it.

Speaker 4 (02:16:18):
That's incredible. Okay, we got more coming up on The
Troubleshooter Show.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
