Speaker 1 (00:00):
Six forty five. Let's say good morning to Rory O'Neil,
NBC News Radio on the Legacy Retirement Group dot com
phone line. We are approaching a week of the unrest
and really a mess in Los Angeles that all started
last Friday, So we're approaching seven days of that issue,
and now we're starting to see this spread across the
country with these anti ice demonstrations. We had a little

(00:23):
bit of a demonstration to protest here peacefully, thankfully, no
issues on Wednesday night. There's more planned this weekend, and
there's a bunch of these happening around the country really
kind of every day. I see Seattle and Denver with
some issues.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
What's the latest, Yeah, something like eighteen hundred of these
no Kings protests are planned to coincide with the military
parade happening Saturday in Washington. It's the two hundred and
fiftieth birthday of the Army and the seventy ninth birthday
at President Trump are going to be tanks and missiles
on parade through downtown Washington. That's why these No Kings events,

(01:00):
eighteen hundred of them are popping up nationwide, and they
seem to be melding with the anti ice protests. As
you said, that started nearly a week ago in Los Angeles,
So now it's just turning into anti Trump stuff. And
if it looks at the flags, it's about everything else too.
So there's a lot going on. But to your point,

(01:21):
LA looked to be pretty secure last night thanks to
a very strong police presence.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Yeah, and I see things. As I mentioned in Seattle,
the protesters are using fireworks and rocks against law enforcement.
There in Denver, dozens of arrests were made this week.
Police are using pepper spray and smoke bombs to try
to disperse some of the crowds. And then you know
you mentioned the no Kings. We've got one of those
here on Saturday. It's the Pride weekend here in Columbus

(01:47):
as well. I don't know how much the weather's going
to cooperate. We've got some showers and storms planned this weekend,
so that could put a damp around some of these
protests and events this weekend. But yeah, it seems like
now if you're upset with something, this is your and
to go out and protest it.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Yeah, So let's hope for rain, is all I can say,
except for the military. We want our service members.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
We will and by the way, real quick, you have
the latest on this this tragic Air India crash. It
was a flight from from it was it to London?
Is that what it was?

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Yes, a flight to London from Western India. Two hundred
and forty plus people on board a seven eight seven
Boeing Dreamliner, so it's a relatively new plane. We'll get
more information on that, but there's some videos surfacing that
shows the crash itself, a crash just after takeoff a
minute or so into densely residential areas. So we're not

(02:39):
sure if anyone survived the crash, if and how many
people on the ground they've been hurt or killed in this.
But it was fully loaded with fuel for a very
long flight, so that's why we're seeing a lot of
this black smoke going up there too, because that's really
the fuel burning off. This would be the first fatal
crash involving a seven eight seven Dreamline
