Speaker 1 (00:00):
Six forty six over to the Legacy Retirement Group dot
com on line. That's been a couple of minutes. And
get an update from Los Angeles with NBC News Radios
Rory O'Neil r. I guess now what five nights of
unresk going back to last Friday night, and I would
assume the biggest development is the overnight curfew in Los.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Angeles, right. They implemented a curfew last night, really clearing
the streets of all the demonstrators, giving them a chance
to leave multiple times, but those who continued to break
the curfew or defy it were taken into custody. Even
before last night's big roundup, more than or nearly four
hundred people had been arrested since these protests began back

(00:40):
on Friday.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
You know.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
And the curfew, by the way, we should not only
covers about a one square mile area of downtown La
LA is about five hundred square miles at all. So
these these specific riots protests are all happening in the
rather confined area.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
I did not know the geographic makeup there. That's interesting.
And are you getting seeing any reports of looting? We
saw a story of now they've started that process where
they're now going after marijuana dispensaries and electronics and jewelry stores.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Have you seen that, Yeah, we've seen some of that.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
I know.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
I think there was a Dida store, Adidas store, maybe
it was there was a sporting good store. I think
they got caught up in one of those looting instances
as well. Not sure if that was from last night
or the night before. It seems that with the curfew
in place, they seem to be bringing down the hammer more.
So let's see. We'll get an update obviously when the
sun comes up, and we got a better update from

(01:34):
the LAPD.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
Briefly, Rory, we had a peaceful protest downtown Columbus last
night a couple of hours. No incidents reported. Are we
seeing these start to pop up around the country.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
We are. We're expecting a lot more of them as
we get closer to Saturday's big military parade. There's an
event call or there's a there's a group called No Kings,
which is essentially accusing President Trump of acting like a
king a big military party for what is his birthday.
Flag Day also happens to be the birthday the two

(02:05):
hundred and fiftieth of the US Army, but they're accusing
him of acting like a king, which is why these
eighteen hundred No Kings events are taking place nationwide. We've
recently seen more protests in New York, Chicago, Boston, Texas, Denver, Boston, Vegas.
Atlanta had a big one as well a couple of
days ago, so I expect these to spread
