(00:00):
Today on the show, just thefacts and guess what. Facts don't lie,
and facts certainly do not care aboutyour feelings. Get out your pen
and paper, because today you're gonnahear what is not reported in the media
today. Good afternoon, Welcome downTarget. We're broadcasting live from the studios
of LAPD Farms Range and Training Facilitythat's located at nine nine nine, Triple

(00:24):
nine, Bethel Road. I'm yoursEric, along with my good friend Chuck.
Who I mean, you out dressedme today, Chick. Now I'm
feeling inadequate here You're all dressed up. You realize I've got a job,
right, I gotta work occasionally,I'll just play with you for a little
all right, all right, Wellyou look very nice today, Chuck.
It if no one has told youthat, thank you. If you're watching

(00:45):
on Facebook Live, you can seeyou didn't bring me flowers. Nay.
Day's not over yet, don't youknow. For some reason, today I'm
not fire. This week has beensuch a sensory overload, and I was
so fired up on one day orthe other. But right now I'm kind

(01:06):
of at that calm, kind ofthe calm before the storm. I guess,
so there's a storm coming. Thereis a storms. Don't care about
your feelings. Yeah, that istrue feelings, nothing more than feeling.
You are all vocal to Boris Albert. Whatever happened to him, by the
way, I don't know. Probablywork in the counter at LPD, just
under a different name. Right,Well, guys, I wanted the owners

(01:30):
LPD firearms range, training facility, and active and law enforcement. But for
one hour on Saturdays, we puttogether a group of firearm experts to discuss
new products in the market. Gotsome neat ones today to talk about training
tips and oftentimes political topics surrounding theSecond Amendment. Our commitment, though,
has always been to bring you factsabout the industry and altimately help listeners and
customers with safe, responsible ownership offirearms. I want to start by thanking

(01:53):
our good friend FOP e Gecutive VicePresident, Sergeant Bryan Stale for joining us
last week. I honestly, betweenhim in chief Gilbert, they could be
on every week because these streets andColumbus are in chaos, and to hear
from them every week about what's goingon, it would be certainly pertinent.

(02:13):
Yes, yes, and and wedid have some good news. I was
kind of surprised he's not with usthis week. Just to share the good
news, and that is that ourofficer went home from from rehabilitation, right
and uh yeah, I mean honestly, from from day one to where he
is right now, I'm ridiculously happy, but a bit surprised. I did

(02:34):
not think he was going to beback in his home with his family.
So I will have to say though, and I didn't follow it it as
closely as I probably should have.Which officer went home this week? Is
the one from the shooting from myseventies from seventy and the Mound and seventies
what I understood, Okay, Ididn't know if it was at officer,
the one who was shot last week. I thought it was the one from
Mound and seventy. Okay, Ididn't know. I mean, I I'm

(02:57):
not trying to be rude by notsaying their names, but we don't say
their name. That's where Marcy's lawcomes in. These officers are protected.
We don't want any any problems forhim at their their house. But that's
that's the incident I thought it was. If that is the case, that's
remarkable. Yeah, that is absolutelyremarkable. The thoughts and prayers certainly helped
out because there were some tough timesthere. Today, guys, fingers crossed,

(03:17):
we're gonna get to that. I'mnot putting these guns back on this
table any other weeks, Chuck,We're going to talk about them. If
it's past one o'clock today. We'vehad these things sitting out here in the
last couple of weeks, really reallyneat things are here for their foresell here,
they're kind of hot to the market, and here shortly, we're gonna
have Jake, one of our salesmanagers, come over and sit and talk

(03:39):
to us about them, because they'rethat neat and that unique. So we
are going to get to that today. Let's see what else. We're also
going to talk to my buddy Rich. He's gonna give us some industry updates.
He was in Ohio this week, didn't even stop by, so that
he doesn't know this yet. We'regonna bring that up to him there the
rest of the show that it's goingto be about facts. Imagine that,

(04:01):
Chuck. Facts kind of a novelthing, right, Well, it's Columbus,
you know. Facts. So throughoutthe show I'm gonna be throwing out
some facts, Chuck, and itjust might be random. You never know
when it's gonna come. But it'sthings that that we need to know.
If we're going to fix the city, if we're going to fix the country,
and we need and we're going toidentify what the problems are, we

(04:21):
need to start by looking at thefacts. And I think that's what frustrates
me so much, especially in thefirearms industry, is so much of what's
out there is not based on facts. If the facts were that the AAR
rifle was responsible or used in ninetynine percent of all shootings in Columbus,

(04:42):
then that's a discussion that we shouldhave. Let's talk about that. But
that's not the case. But that'snot what the politicians and those leads you
to believe. So let's talk fora second about Chicago. Not to get
two sidetracked here Chicago, Chuck, listen to this here Today Chicago has had
four hundred and fifteen murders. Fourhundred and fifteen murders in Chicago. Just

(05:03):
under two thousand people have been shotin Chicago this year, Loan, but
they're not going to shoot him anymore. Between nine am and nine pieces that
yes, they're asking now the thugsto limit the number of shootings they do
between nine am and nine pm.Sorry, but how do you do shows

(05:23):
for Mester Gangster? If you wouldn'tmine? Could we just hold off on
the gunfire? Chill mine or onepm? Everybody will be in the house
at that point, then you'll haveto shoot through the windows. But just
no daytime shooting because it's it's badfor the community. That's what they did,
Chuck, I know that that iswhat that's ridiculous. By the end
of today, eight more people willbe shot in the city and two more

(05:44):
murdered. It's incredible. Ninety fivepercent of the victims and ninety eight percent
of the known suspects, ninety fivepercent of the victims, ninety percent of
their own SPECIs Catholic, Black,or Haspianic, Chuck, you're kidding me,
Black Orspanic, and that population, the black in this Spanic population only

(06:05):
accounts for thirty nine percent of theChicago population. I never would have known
that from the news reports. Youwould not. I mean, so,
I mean, we got to dosomething to help this community. It's not
a reflection on them in the inthe as much as it is we need
to do something to help them bringup themselves to turn this around. That

(06:27):
that is, that's a failure inthat in that city for those people.
It truly is. I don't understandhow any any group of people, whether
it's ethnicity, religion, sexuality, whatever, how any group of people can
have true information completely ignored and feellike they have any sort of representation at

(06:49):
all. I don't get that thecity won't say anything about you know this,
obviously, race is an issue whenit comes to violence, especially in
the city of Chicago, but we'renot going to say that out loud because
we don't want to be offensive,we want to be politically correct. Somebody
needs to say out loud, blackpeople are shooting black people. Hispanic people

(07:09):
are shooting Hispanic people. Black peopleare who shooting White people are at home
watching y'all on the news doing this. Say it out loud, for God's
say, quit running from it.And and I just it bugs me that
the people who are being non reported, non talked about continue to elect the
same morons over and over again whogo on and continue to ignore them.

(07:31):
It just it doesn't make sense atall. And you know what, it
goes beyond the community. It goesto those elected leaders, like you said,
because so much of what we've heardthe last couple of years are anti
law enforcement. You know, ifyou're stopped on the street, man,
you better question that. Don't don'tbe listening to them because you're they're they're
gonna shoot you for no reason. And that has started, that has become

(07:56):
ingrained in a lot of this culture. And I go back to what sergeants
Steal said last week. He hada twelve year old with the gun who
he told to stop. So rightthere, somewhere along the upbringing of that
twelve year old, he has notbeen taught to respect authority. If I
was twelve years old and an officertold me to stop, I would have

(08:16):
stopped. But it goes beyond that. This kid twelve years old had a
firearm, and not only back inthe day. If even if you got
to that point and the kid takesoff, he's ditching a gun. He's
ditching. This kid twelve years oldcontinued to run with that firearm in his

(08:37):
hand. What is that saying aboutwhat he is, what his upbringing has
been, what he has seen onTV from the leaders, and the total
lack of how do you even beginto start to repair that. When Brian
told that story last week, Iwas actually kind of happy to hear that
the kid continued to run. AndI know that sounds crazy, but you
know what, if he didn't run, the fact that he's twelve and armed

(09:00):
and out on the street, Brianwould have shot him, or he would
have shot Brian. That's that's theoutcome. If he would have stopped,
somebody would have shot somebody. Right. I don't want Brian hurt. I
don't want a twelve year old kidhurt. So I'm actually kind of glad
that kid kept running because if that'sthe kind of kid he is, violence
was the next step had he stopped. In turn, But isn't violence surely

(09:22):
ahead of him? Probably? Yes? I mean, isn't like Brian said,
he's going to get eaten up onthe streets. He is not going
There is no statistic that shows thathe's going to end up being a productive
member of society at this point unlesssomething happens and it turns him around.
How do you stop that cycle? That's that's the thing that that drives me
nuts. Listen to this stat here'sa stat for you, Chuck shot spoer.

(09:43):
You know what shot spotter is,right, It picks up on potential
detection of firearms shot. Now,there is some variables in there if it's
a fireworks and there's some things thatcan come into play. Shot Spider in
Chicago this year. Guess how manyshots? Yes, how how many shots
shot Spotter has detected in the cityof Chicago up through last week. I'm

(10:05):
gonna say at least at least onehundred thousand, one hundred thousand, seven
hundred and twenty six shots fired inthe city of Chicago this year, according
to shot spot one hundred thousand shots. When we came up with the idea
of using shots Spotter in Columbus, although, yeah, the technologies, it's
a tool, but it's not thebe all end all, and I was

(10:28):
I was on the air every dayat that point, and I said,
when it came out, here's here'ssomething you haven't heard in a long time
that you're going to hear again, drive by shooting. We went years without
drive by shootings. But now thatwe got shot Spotter, man shooters are
gonna be mobile. They're gonna fireand take off because by the time they
know where the shots are coming fromThey want to be a few miles from

(10:50):
that place. And what's happening. We're starting to hear drive by shootings again
because they've got to stay mobile.Of course, what guys, you'd like
to think our sponsors, as always, it's an egress, windows, black
wings, shooting center, rivers, cutlery, seeing that's engraving, of course,
LPD training facility, all who makethe show possible. Each week,
it is just big Chuck and Iif you haven't figured that out by now,
Ed does have a pass this week. I am giving him a pass.

(11:13):
I am not. This is notgoing against his attendants because it is
his wife's birthday and their anniversary. And I like his wife, so you
know we're gonna we're gonna let himgo this week her birthday and I think,
so what I think over the courseof the weekend, Oh, she'll
get jipped every year on that man. Yeah, well I don't know a
birthday on Christmas. So Ed Iencouraged him to go that he is an

(11:37):
excuse. Today Jac is on acanoe somewhere and I'm kind of surprised he's
not calling him from the canoe. But that's a whole nother skid underwater.
Hey, did you hear about thebuild a Paris for this week? Speaking
of witch Chuck? You know, and I can't even begin to do the
news like jac but there was I'mgonna say this. I think we got
time for this. There was onepiece of good news this week, and

(12:01):
I hesitate to celebrate it because it'sit's good news on crappy stuff that has
been going on in the city, but it is good. This week,
the tenth District Court of Appeals herein Ohio, they have upheld the state
law on firearms uniformity, so basicallythe preemption law which has been in place,
which has been it's been it's goneto the Supreme Courts in Ohio several

(12:26):
times, stating that towns and municipalitiescan't put laws on the books that are
that regulate different aspects of the firearms. So therefore meaning that the people in
certain cities wouldn't even know what thelaws is that you pass through them,
just like Columbus's attempted to do.The District Court of Appeals they upheld the

(12:46):
law so far, so now thatgets kicked back to Franklin County courts.
But as as always, the cityCity Columbus that Klein A is using taxpayers
money to fight this fight that hasbeen upheld by the Supreme Court time and
time again. The confusion is goingto come in. We're two different battles.
You've got the ATF being told byone of the district courts that you
cannot call a component of a guna gun, bump stock, of extension,

(13:11):
grip, anything like that, that'snot a gun. So now we've
got this Ohio court saying, well, you can't. You can't, you
know, specify a gun in amunicipality. So the magazine, if it
can't be defined as a gun,I worry that it can still be prohibited
in the municipality because we're not limitingguns were but I think the preemption goes

(13:35):
beyond just the guns. It goesbeyond the guns. It talks about magazine
bands and so forth. Now here'san interesting point, of course, Zach
Klein had a comment on this,as you would imagine. He says,
as we have said from the start, every court date, filing, or
decision is just one of many stepsneeded to reaffirm the city's ability to exercise
this constitutional right to enforce common sense. Majors sir, there has been nothing,

(14:01):
no common sense whatsoever about what heproposed none, So I mean that's
just out the window. He goeson to say, at the local level,
these laws would allow police and prosecutorsto do their jobs, to go
after violent criminals and keep our kidsin communities safe. Do their jobs,
do their jobs, keeps kids safe. This is coming from a man who

(14:22):
has been complicit in destroying the citythrough the police departments, through the laws,
I mean, allowing criminals to walkthe streets and who, let I
remind you who threw out four thousandcases in twenty twenty in the name of
social justice. It's the same guywho's you know, and who has now

(14:43):
not allowed a local law enforcement toenforce and bring charges on theft. I
mean, look what's going on outthere. If that's of cards that's from
retail stores, is out of control. But he needs these this magazine band
to put everything back and sync what. You know what, Ella, Ella
stopped me today because I was goingand say something that I probably shouldn't have

(15:05):
said on air. But we'll justsay that that mister Klein is full of
a lot of stuff that can't besaid on air. Thanks Ellah, thanks
for ruining my morning there Ella ifshe jumps in. So, guys,
let's jump to a break and weget back. From the break. We're
gonna talk to our sales manager hereat the store talking about some of these
guns on the table that you arereally worth talking about. We're on talking

(15:26):
about broadcasting life from the studios LPDFarms Arrange. Will be back right after
the break. Don't mess with meon the eighties. Man Berry's coming Friday
Night? Are you going? Yes? Are you really? Yes? Last

(15:50):
time I saw him was Polaris Amphitheater. Oh yeah, I missed those days
a long time ago. Welcome backto talking to you hysteric joint today and
the LAPD S two like mister ChuckDouglas sitting next to me to my right.
No Ed, no j C,No Paul Paul, but we got
Jake Ella here chiming in for amoment. There you are finally here.

(16:12):
I am. I just want topoint out make clear I did say you
could say whatever word you wanted toif you wanted to be my last day
here and the last thing you eversay. And I did consider it.
I mean that was I went throughall the pluses of minuses, and I

(16:33):
thought it probably the best at thistime. But we did make a pact
on both of our last days ifthey happened to be the same day together.
Yeah, we're going to let itgo a joke, booger. Yeah,
thanks, thanks for keeping me straightout. You realize is by the
way the eighties reference you. You'vegot an eighties television show up here with
you right now. You literally haveJake and the Fat Man. Oh yeah,
yes, that is true. Butyou're not fat anymore then. I'm

(16:56):
still there now, you're good,Chuck. So, mister Jake, our
sales managers here. You know what, Jake, you have him putting these
guns on the studio desk for threeweeks now, and I think the word
was I'm coming on to talk abouthim because I'm tired of hauling them out
every week, something like that.It was very similar to Jake, you

(17:17):
do a great job, and you'reon the front lines of the of the
sales team now, and honestly, you know more about the ins and outs
of a lot of these things thanI do. I see him come through
and I'm like, oh, that'sneat. I hold in my office for
a couple of days, but ultimatelyyou you know the you know what the
customers are talking about. And thefour guns we have here today are definitely
unique. So I'm going to teeyou up with them. You give me
a one or two liner about them, tell me I feel like them or

(17:40):
not. And okay, So thefirst one a little rapid fire bond Arms
known for their they're very stout derringersof four forty five long quolts that they're
known for. The cyclops though cameout recently, Jake. It is.
It's over and above their normal standard. Yeah, so it's what might be

(18:02):
considered a little bit excessive. Itcomes in it's actually a serious So it
comes in forty five seventy, whichis the one that we have here,
h forty four mag, forty fiftyfour Casul and fifty action Express, so
all of the big boy calibers forreference, we've got actually the forty five
seventy that that fires. And thencompare that to a standard two and three

(18:29):
quarter inch twelve Gach shotguns show andthis is out of a derringer that fits
in the palm in your hand, and it's here for sale. So that's
seven you've been looking for, Chuck. I'm just saying it's here a problem
of one hand. Now it's singleshot. It does weigh in at a
staggering twenty eight ounces unloaded, whichis pretty wild for the size. But

(18:51):
yeah, pretty imagine. I don'tthink I want to be on either side
of that one. It's five. It's got a nice little plate on top,
so you get a square imprint onyour forehead from the recoil. It
actually has a miley face if you'relooking at that. If you're looking at
the barrel. Check it's got alittle a little face if you happen to
be staring down that stuff. So, but if that's a that's a novelty,

(19:11):
right, Jake, that's not somethingyou would recommend anybody have for any
real reason. Well, I mean, I don't know if you're out hunting
and you gotta, you know, put a second shot on the caribouers on
that. Yeah. Perfect, Youasked, Jake, what else we got
here? We have the I've beenreally excited about this. FN came out
with a little very compact nine kindof the matches six three sixty five,

(19:33):
the Springfield Hellcat. It's called theReflex. Yeah, so FN has finally
come out and got their you know, foot in the door with the high
cap Microcompact nine game. Uh.They tried once before with the five O
three didn't really work out. Nobodyreally liked it. This is a much
better all around handgun. So inthe Free States it's gonna come with one

(19:56):
eleven and one fifteen round magazine,so that's pretty good. Pasty out of
the door, you're ready to carryit. Unlike pretty much everything else in
its class, it is a internalhammer fired, single action only a gun.
So while it has about the samewhole weight as most of your striker
fired options in the class, itfeels better. It's a good feeling trigger.

(20:18):
It is not take if I didn'thave then It's very similar in size
to the SIG three sixty five ifyou've are familiar with that. If I
hadn't own in three sixty five,I probably would have grabbed one of these
for you know, a backup orconcealment a gun. It's small, I
mean, it's small, high capacity. Even the detail looks like a three
sixty five. Good texture comes withthe sites right and you can get it

(20:41):
optic ready. Yeah. Emordy isan option on there. Unfortunately we don't
have that version to show off today. But yep, so good gun,
good gun in it this here forsale right now in the store. Everyone's
talking about the Springfield echelon. Yeah, so speaking of copying six homework,
we have the Springfield echelon here. This is I would describe it as a

(21:03):
combination of a glock and P threetwenty. So they are using cigs idea
for like a modular chassis system. They call it their COG COG, which
is their central operating system. It'sthe same as the fire control unit out
of a P three twenty or threesixty five, so you can swap it
into different frames. It's the serializedportion, so just one firearm for all

(21:29):
of that different options. One thingthat is actually very cool on that is
their new optic system. So theoptics system on that gun. It is
a they call it variable interface system, so it has multiple screw holes on
the bottom, four direct attached optics, as well as movable pins and lugs.

(21:52):
To accommodate those different footprints. You'regonna have to use some sort of
a plate if you want to useone of your newer enclosed emitter optics,
but for your standard top mount optics. It is completely plateist direct mount,
which is always really nice option tohave. Well, it's a great feel.
I love the way this would be, and it's getting a lot of
good attention out there in public andto forth, and people are asking for

(22:15):
it. I don't know if we'vesold very many yet or how many people
look at them, but we've hada few people look at we had.
We've just got him in so justthis past week actually, so they're they're
a pretty hot item out there inthe world. Probably gonna go pretty quick.
Good Jake. We are going togo to the bottom of the hour
break, but there's two other orone other gun that I had sitting here

(22:37):
that I think it's worth getting too, So hanging tight with this through the
break. We'll come back and hitthat talk about that gun, and for
a brief second before we go toour buddy Rich, we're on Target broadcasting
live from the studios of LAPD FarmsRange. We'll be back right after the
break. Welcome back to on Target. I mean, here's Eric joined today
in the LAPD studios. To myright, I got little Chuck, no

(22:57):
Ed, no JC, no papall. But to my left our sales
manager Jake has stepped in talking aboutsome of the guns that are on the
table today. Jake, before yougo, I wanted to get to this
one that I've had my eye on. A matter of fact, the one
that's sitting here has been in myoffice for about a week because I'm thinking
about buying it. But what iswhat I'm really kind of brings a smile
to my face. I would consideryou one of our younger guys, right,

(23:19):
yea. And usually a lot oftimes the younger guys don't have an
appreciation for a double single gun, right, They're all under the striker fire
and this and that. But youtook a liking to this next one,
even to the point where you boughtone. I did, yeah, And
what is it? A good gun? Is a good gun? Well,
you wanted to talk about the eighties. We got the eighty X Cheetah here.

(23:41):
So this is the new eighties seriespistol from Baretta. It's got all
the updated features coming in from theninety two X series, so you got
your slimmer grips, nice texture. It is double action, single action,
unlike the ninety two series. Itis a frame mounted safety and deconquer so

(24:03):
you cannot carry this. You cannotcarry this conctent locked, it's gonna decoc
You can swipe the safety off. What's really nice about this guy is the
trigger. The double action trigger specificallyis a seven pound double action trigger.
It's not fremely smooth. Now,it's only a three eighty. I mean

(24:23):
we say that as only, butit holds what fifteen rounds? It's only
a three eighty, but it's thirteenround capacity, eight plus one. Obviously,
you know, throwing one in thechamber. But I mean, with
the features that this has, andI mean modern creating ammo, it's perfectly
adequate for stomping threats. You geta lot of capability out of this.
You can throw an optic on it, you can throw a light on it,

(24:47):
carry it however you want it,throw it up appendix. You know,
yeah, I'm even hearing that. You know. It's a throwback to
the eighties. Even some young guysare putting it in Fannie packs. Yeah,
I do currently have mine. Thereyou go taking my Fannie peck out.
Chuck, you had another eighties referencethere. You don't even realize you
met, because you're both too youngto understand what you said, well,
I wasn't even lying. You saidyou were talking about You said ninety two

(25:08):
x that station dominated Columbus in theeighties. What I was really w x
G two is now ninety two pointthree. So, Jake, great guns.
Thanks for stopping by showing us someof that. Well not quite.
Oh you're not even trying to talkabout the coolest gun that we have.
I thought I had the coolest gunsout here, not even close. Oh,

(25:33):
here you go. I knew it. I knew this is the coolest
gun that we've gotten in this week. This is the legit full size six
MCX spear. This just one theArmy contract. This is this particular one
is the three away version. Sothey developed a new six eight by fifty
one caliber for the military that's notout available yet, but this guy is

(26:00):
super cool. It is both rearand side charging with a foldable non reciprocating
charging handle. You get a fullambidexterous lower on here. It is piston
operated with adjustable gas system for suppressand unsuppressed. This is the sixteen inch
rifle version. The contract version isactually a thirteen and a half inch barrel

(26:22):
and three O eight in six eightby fifty one. Okay, but this
guy is going to be available inthree calibers three eight, six five creed
More, which is particularly cool, and the six eight by fifty one eventually
some day. Maybe that's sharp. That is sharp, side footing stock on
that it is. It is asharp looking fire. Of course, the
price is as you expect. Imean, it's in the right so it's

(26:48):
out there like the scars and soforth, absolutely right, about the same
price as a scar. Wow,all right, it's good, Jake,
it's good. Well, hey,if you want to stop by and seeing
these are all here for sale atthe store, Jake, thanks for for
stopping by. If you are hereto look at any of these, ask
for Jake. He's here almost everyday and he's really the true expert at
these and the optics. Thanks Jackfor jumping on. Absolutely, guys,

(27:11):
let's jump to let's jump to acaller. It's not just a car.
It's my buddy Rich on the line, her buddy, But I am here,
can you hear me? Okay?Yeah? But you know what,
Chuck brings up a good point,Buddies, Like if I'm Chuck's buddy and
I'm in Chuck's neighborhood. I wantto stop by and say, hey,
Chuck, give me some more ammo. Right, But my buddy rich was

(27:36):
in Ohio this week and I didn'tseem Chucks. You see, I didn't
see uh huh, not a thing, Richard. I heard you were in
Ohio. I'm not exactly around thecorn or. I am in a beautiful
town called Kanyet right off of LakeErie, and I am participating in their
D Day Invasion weekend. And currentlyI am station with the second Italian third

(27:59):
Infantry Division of the Queen's Own Rifles, which was a Canadian division that was
say those guys that landed on JunoBeach. I am. My designation for
this weekend is I am the unitarmor though I have been repairing and cleaning
every day that was used during thewartime, from infield to Spend Light machine
guns sorry Stend machine guns, theBrand Light machine guns. They even worked

(28:22):
on an MG thirty four to getthe working. Wow. You know you
know what rich and all honestly, and we give you a lot of grief,
but I mean these re enactments thatyou participate in as well a lot
of other people do. They areso important to carry on the history to
the next generation. And I hada good buddy who actually went up this

(28:44):
week with his family to see it. And it's so important to see what
the soldiers did and the firearms theyuse and stuff. So I mean,
it's really really a neat thing, and it's neat that you are passionate about
it. Well, this is myfifteenth year doing primarily I do Commonwealth did

(29:04):
have the pleasure of being any eventsfrom almost every country as a matter of
fact, and are so pleased withthe fact that we are telling their stories
of what they went through when theywent through the war. And unfortunately we've
lost most of the guys that I'vemet, and I've met some women too
that partispate in the war. Butit's great because we have all the young

(29:26):
people coming and they're asking all sortsof questions. And I know that you
know you're an Hio based show show, and I'll tell you if if no
one has ever come down to thisevent, I would strongly recommend it.
There is over two thousand re enactors. We had at least two dozen armored
vehicles from Sherman tanks to have tracks. We have a gun called the Tom

(29:48):
Tom. The Big Tom, whichis an artillery piece, which was huge,
wasn't you during the last befoy. When that thing goes off, it's
going to wait. The troops stormedthe beaches right out of the ending craps.
It is that their beach front propertythat they've they've set up for us
has got all types of foxholes andhedgehogs and bob wire even though it's rubbed

(30:11):
bob wire and is a sight tosee. And I invite anyone that's in
the from from Kanye to come downand enjoy this weekend. During the battle,
they have a P fifty one Mustangsthat will strape the beach lines.
We'd all still have forty seven transportcalled Whiskey seven that was actually at not

(30:33):
only the D Day invasion but alsothe operations market Basket, the market garden,
market basket, ya'm okay, marketGardens. And it's impressive because the
plans come in low and they comein fast, and while the battles going
on. It's a great event. There's a lot of things to see here
and and I enjoy doing it andlike I said, my fifteen year doing

(30:55):
it and maybe next year you cando a remote broadcast from this area that
would really be neat which you know, I know that you you painstakingly,
you know, go through and tryto make this as realistic as possible.
With that said, you know, oftentimes at night our soldiers would sit around
and you know, have a drinkto think about what is going on and

(31:18):
plan for the next day. Isthat part of your participation. I can
either confirm or that there may bea drink when the rifles are put away
at night. But it's definitely alot of camaraderie and it's good to seek
a lot of old friends from acrossthe Eastern Sea boards, especially our friends
from Canada come down. But let'sjust say we have a lot of life

(31:40):
coalitions. So that means I'm notgoing to hear from me until about Thursday
next week. Right. There isdefinitely a recreation story that I get through
after doing these events, a lotof statements of the equipment that we bring
down. But I'll be sobered upand back to work on Monday, you
know me, I have a jobto do. I got to make sure
I'm the blind firearms to the industry. That's right, That's right. Well,

(32:04):
Richie, thanks for taking time outto call in. Really, I
know, Chuck, do you havea question. No, I'm just thinking
we really should go to that.Yeah, really, I mean that would
be I love that kind of stuff. Yeah, that would be a neat,
neat thing. And no, it'sreally neat that you do it,
Rich, And I know over theyears as our friendship, as you know,
goes back a number of years andyou talk about it every year.
I really do need to go andcheck that out sometime. Yeah, we'd

(32:27):
love to have you guys down here, if you guys would enjoy it.
And if you pluck the remote broadcast, you might want to look into that.
Yep. Absolutely, my buddy Richcalling from Ohio this time. Thanks
for taking a step away, Richand using a cell phone, which I
don't think they had back then.Chuck. They well they did, but
they didn't sell anybody. It wasa big government secret. Okay. Yeah,
so I'm sure he's using an authenticone. Thanks for calling in,

(32:50):
Rich, and be safe out there. I'll catch up to you next week,
jaylem enjoy the rest of the weekand thank you. Yea, we
will, guys. Let's jump toa break, Chuck. When we get
back. I have all kinds ofstatistics that you are gonna actually might not
want to hear them that they're goodthough, I don't want to hear them.
No, No, it's good.I mean, it's stand good stuff.
Well it's not. It's not goodstatistics, but it's ones to kind
of set the record straight, andit's ones to think about and to ponders.

(33:13):
So let's jump to a break andwe come back. We're gonna talk
statistics. We're on Talking broadcasting livefrom the studios of LAPD Farms and Range.
We'll be back right after the break. He was non that's the king
of Polka there. He is amister James Brown. Get down to get
funky. So why why do Igotta wait till Monday at six Chuck?

(33:34):
Why? Why why didn't you announceit? We have, I mean,
we have a large studio audience thereand making sure we got like five people
listening over the air. Why dowe gotta wait till my name Monday night,
six o'clock Chuck Douglas on Facebook. It'll be a live event. I
haven't done one of those in along time. And I'll tell you that
I gotta I gotta really waiting timea little bit whisper something to you after

(33:59):
this, right, that's if I'mrest of the world Monday at six on
Facebook. All right, all right. All I want to know is you're
going to be here next Saturday. Is it going to impact that? Yeah,
I'll be here, all right?Perfect, all right, welcome back
to Target. I'm here's Eric joinedtoday in the LAPD studios. It is
just little Chuck and I right now. But my buddy Richie called in a

(34:19):
minute ago, and of course aregood are a good friend. In sales,
Jake Stop, I talked about someof the firearms here that we have
for sale. Guys, we're gonnatalk a little bit about stats. And
the reason that I'm passionate about thisis so much of what you hear in
the news and by politicians are statsthat they put out there as proof that

(34:39):
something needs to be done to affectthe Second Amendment rights of so many I
think you need to copy and pasteeverything you talk about right now and send
it in an email to every reporteryou've ever talked to about because I guarantee
you most of them they read theteleprompter. They don't have a clue.
This kind of stuff needs to beput in front of them. It does,

(35:00):
and it's not. It's not tosay that we're not open to hearing
something that if there was something outthere, if thirty round bags were founded
every murder scene in Columbus the pastyear, let's talk about it. But
it's just not the case. Solet's talk kind of at a high level.
And these are some stats we've talkedabout before over the years, but
they're worth they're worth repeating because they'rethat important. If you look at the

(35:23):
last ten years nationwide. So thisis the ten year average nationwide. This
isn't cherry picking one year that thatmakes it sway to our side. This
is ten years average, and itactually goes back further than that. On
an average every year about well, let me just say this. On average,

(35:44):
every year, about twelve thousand peopledie in firearms related homicides. Yes,
okay, of that, about sixtysix hundred of those are handguns.
Okay, started you start to getthat little right, right, all murders
and stuff, about sixteen hundred ayear are by knives. Okay, so

(36:05):
you start to get a flavor oreverything. Five out of twelve, right,
But now the twelve thousand is guns. So some of these numbers there's
there's some of the murders that theydidn't know what type of firearms. So
that's why it doesn't add up necessarily. Okay, two hundred percent, but
just get an idea on the numbershere versus the whole. So about sixteen
hundred murders by knives, about fourhundred and fifty murders every year are attributed

(36:27):
to blunt force trauma. So Ialways go back to that that poor bartender
who died in the short north endof this year. He was punched,
fell hit his head, died fourhundred and fifty a year blunt force trauma.
About ten thousand people year die asa result of speeding going above the
posted speed limit, and that fatalityin that accident is attributed to speeding over

(36:52):
the limit. Ten thousand people year, About ten thousand a year also die
from OVII incidents accidents. So youstart to get a flavor of you know,
in in in the across the country. How are people dying each year
in Franklin County Last year, sixhundred and eighty three people died by fitting

(37:15):
all deaths. Never heard of that? What kind of gun is a fyl
and it's a new type must knowit's by fitting all drug overdoses. Right,
So you start to get an ideaif you look at rifles and this
is all rifles. So this thisthe FBI stats don't discern between an AAR
rifle in a two two three caliberversus a twenty two rifle versus any a

(37:40):
hunting rifle. They don't. Theydon't break that out. Rifles, rifle,
rifle. So included in that isthe AR, but it's a subset
of it. Yes, right,on average the last ten years, three
hundred and thirty people die each yearby rifle. Three hundred and thirty people.
Yes. So if we are apolitician or the news media and we're

(38:01):
taking a step backward thing, weneed to affect change. We need to
save lives. And you look atall these stats. Ten thousand for speeding,
ten thousand for O VII, sixteenhundred murders a year by knives,
and three hundred and thirty year byrifles. What what are we doing focusing
on that? Now here's the punchline. Three hundred and thirty year a year

(38:22):
by rifles. Every year on averagefor the last ten plus years, six
hundred and eighty people a year dieby hands, fist and feet. Wow,
almost twice the number of people diein bar fights then by all rifles.
So why do the politicians, ifthey're genuine, why do they stand

(38:44):
up there and say we need toban the AAR assault weapons? You know,
I fought the NRA on this inthe nineties. Why unless there's some
ulterior motive behind wanting to disarm people, that's the only hands fisting government government
mandated amputations. Perhaps maybe that's it, Maybe we need to go that route.

(39:06):
So I don't think people realize thestats. It's easy for someone who's
not in the industry to get behindthe AAR there. You know, the
military has r as. You knowthat, Chuck, we need to ban
them. But when you look back, it's not the root of a lot
of the issues out there. It'snot. It's actually a very very small
percentage, you know. And youmight say, well, Eric, why

(39:29):
don't this why don't you have datalast year? This FBI data? Because
cities were encouraged last year, andthis is FBI stats, this is where
the numbers come from. Cities wereencouraged last year to not turn in data.
Chicago, La, New York allpulled their data from the FBI stats.

(39:52):
You know what, crime was downlast year. Amazing how that happened.
Crime was down last year according tothe data because they yanked all of
these craziness. But it's out there. I know we're short on time,
but let's I want to talk aboutmass shootings. This is super important because
you see it on the news allthe time. Right, we have more
mass shootings this year. And whenyou think of a mass shooting, at

(40:13):
least me, I think of someonein a public space going in there with
the intent to cause harm. Okay, they go into a school, they
go into a mall, they gointo a movie theater with the intent to
cause harm, mass destruction. Rightthat that is my thinking of a mass
shooting. If you look in thisthe definition of it changed in twenty thirteen

(40:36):
person Obama changed it from four people, not including the suspect dying in one
event usually in one place, fourpeople was considered a mass shooting. It
got changed to three. And guesswhat the next year, the number mass
shootings went up. Of course itdid, because then the way you measured
it, do they include the suspectin the three when they made that change?

(40:58):
No? Okay, okay, Soif The wonderful place to go look
at this data is called mother Jones. They're not necessarily a right leaning place
at all, a matter of factthat they're more left leaning. But they
put together a database a number ofyears ago and they've kept up on it,
and it's actually a very very gooddatabase. Since the early eighties.
Nineteen eighty two, I believe ifyou go by this definition, eleven hundred

(41:23):
people have died in mass shootings.Horrible. I mean not to to look
at those people and say their livesdidn't matter, but eleven hundred, how
much do we talk about it's goingto be murdered in Chicago this year,
you know, shot? If youput it in perspective, one hundred and
forty three mass shootings by these definitionssince nineteen eighty two in the States.

(41:47):
Horrible. But it's not what thenews reports. Okay, the news,
the news headlines from NBC the USsaw fourth thousand mass shootings from twenty fourteen
through twenty two that's NBC. That'soff a week ago. They're on the

(42:07):
metric system. That must be whatit is. But when you dive down
and look, how are they evencoming up with that number? Their criteria
and that that four thousand mass shootingsresulted in twenty one thousand deaths or injuries
or injuries. Their definition that thepoliticians are used now is that four or

(42:32):
more people are shot or die.And it's not it's not just isolated to
what we think of a mass shooting. Somebody goes in and it looked to
cause harm. Listen to this. The study analyzed data from Gun Violence Archive,
very far left leaning organization, andthey said here that the let's see,

(42:58):
twenty seven percent heard at a bar, club, or house party.
So someone had a beef with somebodyelse. This wasn't somebody a crazy man
going into it a place to callhis harm with people he doesn't know.
This is something people people already, they already had a relationship with these people.
Sixteen percent of these mass shootings werecrime related, meaning they involved gangs,

(43:21):
drugs, armed robbery, carjackings, murder or murder, suicides. Well,
that's not that's not a shot.That is not a mass shooting to
what people. I mean, they'repreying on people because they everyone thinks of
a mass shooting is I'm just gonnabe at them all and all of a
sudden, this crazy guy is goingto go in and shoot up people.
So they're they're using both sides ofthe fence here. That's not that's not

(43:43):
the definition they're using in the inthe daily the daily media. Eleven percent,
or they asked to make it this, up to fifty nine percent of
the fatal mass shootings that they quotedin this study, up to fifty nine
percent were domestic violence related. Thereyou go very genuine. They're not genuine.
Domestic issues are at the heart ofso many of these things, but

(44:06):
nobody seems to want to say that. But how often, like we saw
in Hockey County just recently, adomestic call comes in and alsos come under
fire because other people don't know howto act. Right, Guys, do
your due diligence when you look atthe stats. Don't take anything, not
even while we say don't take iton the surface, research it for yourself.

(44:27):
Educate yourself, because I'm telling youso much of it out there isn't
fact base and if you do alittle research you can find that. Next
week, guys, we're gonna havea manufacturer jump on with us, talk
a little bit about the industry, and have a safe week. Thanks for
spending the hour with us good Senya, Chuck, and as always, guys,
let's be careful out there.
