(00:00):
Well, this week on target becamethe target. The story I'm about to
tell you is told for two reasons. One to illustrate the absolute ignorance of
many people who are left leaning, gun hating, people who use the cover
of free press to spread falsehoods, relentlessly attempting to bewokeness to influence the right
(00:23):
to bear arms. And two,our willingness to fight for those who spread
nonsense, who spread fosehoods, ultimatelylet them reveal their true character to awe.
The right of free speech, evenwhen untrue, is a sacred right
granted to us by the Constitution, just like the right to bear arms.
But what separates us from them isthat we continue to fight to give them
(00:47):
the right to review their ignorance andhate, relying on the intellect of the
American people to pass judgment. ButI assure you they would never fight for
our rights. So this week, when someone allured me to the fact that
the far left of left publications theColumbus Free Press, appropriately titled because I
can't imagine anyone paying for it,the Columbus Repressed, decided to write a
(01:10):
targeted hit piece on LPD. Inthis show well kind of the writing itself
left a lot to be desired outsideof the fact that they accused us basically
of supplying firearms to the criminal elementin central Ohio. The article was itself
juvenile in nature, almost laughable, written more likely by someone with little to
no experience in writing, but bygolly, their voice was going to be
(01:34):
heard. I'm okay with some structuredcriticism, but it was that bad grammatically
and substantly. Local gun store salesput innocent targets, innocent citizens on target.
That was the title. A poorlysuperimposed LPD logo sitting above a recent
(01:55):
crime scene topped the article. Itstarted by conceding that most of the crime
Columbus is done by an extremely smallpercentage of the population, but no one
knows where they get their firearms, specifically the white man's guns they referenced.
Whatever the heck that means. Obviouslythey've never listened to the show, because
you would certainly know how to stopthe proliferation of these guns to the thugs.
(02:17):
But I digress. The next linemade me chuckle because it's kind of
true. The ownership of LPD isin love with their own celebrity. Not
quite true, but I do admittedlyenjoy spreading facts and dispelling falsehoods in our
industry. That is what drives meto be so visible in this market.
The next line accuses LAPD of sellingmass shooters rifles typically stocked on IISO three
(02:43):
at LPD, along with everything elseyou need to have to be a mass
shooter today. Ask any of ourformer police officers who work the sales counter
for assistance if needed. The nextline in the article, well, I
kind of appreciated. LPD is prominenton social media, but their greatest reach
LOY is on Target, a weeklySaturday noon AM show hosted by the Bethel
(03:05):
Road Store. Their AM channel isthe Trump Calt six ten to BATVN,
which unfortunately is one of the mostpopular radio stations in and outside of Central
Ohio. Couldn't have written that promobetter myself, Thanks guys. The article
goes on to talk about our influenceon juveniles or young people in the community
and how our glorification of firearms hascaused the surge and crime. They specifically
(03:30):
refer to the recent shooting of aColumbus officer in Ice seventy and asked the
rhetorical question of what in heaven themother of the shooter must be wondering regarding
what her son was getting into.I would like to officially correct something at
this point, because if I hadto guess, the shooters not looking down
up upon old Mama to give heranswers, just saying the next line must
(03:58):
have just been made up because itholds very few truths. According to Channel
ten News, the three tried,it was two if you actually watched the
story, the three tried getting onlpd's firing range for target practics two weeks
prior. It was two months prior. But that was forty five seconds into
the story, and I understand howhard it is to pay attention sometimes they
(04:20):
go on. The Channel ten story, however, is not entirely clear on
what exactly happened that day. Thestory suggests that they were able to get
on the range. The story clearlystates they never made it to the range.
They're able to get on the range, which would be illegal for the
nineteen and twenty year old. Hnot true, but don't let the fact
(04:42):
in in your way. But theysoon removed by LPD for breaking protocols.
Underaged people still use fake IDs,but the free press is awaiting further explanation
from LPD. But the free pressis awaiting further X. They never called,
they never wrote, they never senda message to us whatsoever. So
go ahead and keep waiting, myfriends. The piece, oh it is
(05:06):
a piece, all right, goeson to say LPD is the goddiest and
loudest local promoter of firearms, thebiggest PUSHA of the gun culture. Now
that is PUSHA. For those whoare English speaking in the audience, pusha.
You get the picture. The lastline sums it up. And those
(05:29):
who get their jollies from shooting afifty caliber machine gun in the woods.
I've actually never shopped fifty but Iwouldn't mind trying it sometimes. Unfortunately,
the city can't force LPD to geta clue. Hey, we're not in
the city limits, by the way. They can't force them to get a
clue and to go back to thewoods from whence they came. It doesn't
make sense in a community racked withfear of guns to have a store such
(05:53):
as LPD and the heart of thecommunity. The end, Thank goodness,
As writers put on their masks andslowly returned to their mother's basement, we
decided to add a little color totheir Facebook posts, professional, sincere,
and respectful as always, I encouragedthem to do an exclusive interview with us
(06:15):
call me any time, even invitingthem on this show to express their views
to an audience many times greater thantheir own distribution of court. They screamed,
they threw insults, and they criedout that it would be just too
dangerous, because our listeners are dangerouspeople. I highlighted what happened this week
to show the ignorance and unwillingness tohave genuine dialect with many of these people
(06:41):
that screamed. The louttics in ourcommunity. They throw stones, but they
quickly retreat when confronted, and theirloud voices have no substance. Yet I
have fought for their freedoms. Howironic, our views are never absolute,
and we encourage dialogue to try andfix our broken community, but mean what's
also recognized that there are many whodo not want resolution, and we must
(07:05):
be absolute in our fight to dowhat is right, regardless, to fight
for the truth, and to perseverebeyond the distractions such as these guys.
If we give up now, futuregenerations will never know a safe Columbus.
The sounds of gunshots and crime willbe the norm as it is today.
The fight for a safe community isnot over, but it takes all of
(07:28):
us. Read the posts on ourFacebook page and judge for yourself. Be
as vocal as they are, beas passionate as them, but with the
truth, and we will win thisbattle. Could I target. We're broadcasting
live from the studio of the LPDFirearms Range and Training Facility located road I'm
here, host Eric ed we needto go to a break now. Okay,
(07:51):
no, not really, but Iknow I know that because down a
little bit, I mean, I'mjust floored and flabbergasted with what you just
ran. It is anymore wrong andlieful, and you can't you can't let
the facts gin in your way. What you really need to do is go
read the comments. Because we wereprofessional as I'll get out, and I
(08:13):
mean I genuinely invited them to doan exclusive interview. Let's talk about it,
if let's talk about what's in theirarticle, and they shot right back
on Facebook and said, your youraudience is too dangerous. It's too uh,
it's too dangerous for us to comeon the show or to talk to
you. I mean, it's justit's great. I don't know who reads
that and believes it. I youknow, until you pointed this up today,
(08:35):
I never heard of the Columbus FreePress. And I asked you,
who is this in the Dispatch? And somebody else in the crowd said,
is this a dispatch? No,the Dispatch wouldn't know this. This is
this Admittedly, so is left ofLeft and they've been around. They they
have been around for a long time. Though they used to publish a paper.
I mean they used to have somethingyou could have, but they stopped
(08:58):
after COVID because you know, steppingout outside of mama's house you might catch
the bugs. So they don't publishit anymore. But certainly they can throw
stones from afar and I mean,honestly, it doesn't I don't lose any
sleep over this, but it justshows you how when pressured there is no
there is no willingness to have adiscussional discussion. I mean to talk about
(09:20):
what they're saying and say, well, no, actually this is the case.
And they couldn't even quote the storycorrectly. They must only watched the
first five minutes or something. Maybetheir tensions. They watched what they wanted
and heard it, Yeah, exactly, So it's just pop. I was
going to suggest, let's bring themon the show and have a conversation with
him. I invited him, let'spoint out the facts and let's you know,
show them the right the truth. But how do they spew this kind
(09:43):
of crap on the air or inthe press and then not want to stand
with us and debate it. AndI put that, I pointed out to
them, like you just did, come on the show and talk to us.
Nobody in here will hurt you. We'll make sure that, being law
enforcement, we will protect you sincewe as we always do. We always
do and thank you. You don'tneed to thank me, and you don't
(10:05):
need to thank Eric for taking careof you out on the streets. And
we will do our job and wewill continue to do our regardless of your
message. Right. That's because thatis the difference between us and them.
Guys. We have a busy showtoday. And as you hear the voice
of Ed and I here, Isee father Offset, I see Chuck stepping
up to the mic. There isno JC though today, so we will
(10:26):
give him another week of rest inrelaxations. And we also have law enforcement
here. We have law enforcement formsto make sure everybody's safe and secure.
Is that for the crowd? Isthat's for crowd control? Yeah, yeah,
that's well, that's for everything. That for us and what we do.
Yeah, morning Chuck. Guys.We are the un PD Farms Range
and Training Facility and are active inlaw enforcement. For one hour on Saturdays,
(10:48):
we put together a group of firearmexperts to discuss new products in the
market, training tips, and oftentimespolitical topics surrounding the Second Amendment. Our
commitment, though, has always beento bring you a fact. How about
that? How about fat facts aboutour industry and help customers and listeners.
Let's safe responsible ownership of firearms.Mister Douglass Monogue's Columbus pre presses garbage and
(11:13):
how are you? That sums itup. That's good, That's it.
That's pretty much. It's you know, I pull your strength the well Eric
mentioned the comments on Facebook and Ifired back with a cup too, and
the typical response, you know, well, the people holescans a lot radio
show, they're just they need togo back to the awards. What if
(11:33):
you took any group of people togo back somewhere right now, what would
you get? You're you're a yi, you're a foe, You're a you're
a hey hey. And so Isaid, you know, the criminals that
listen to the show tell Us arebased on what where's your evidence? We
all need to provide evidence. Ilove time to be providing evidence. So
(11:54):
you just arbiturely spew your garbage.Yeah, I'm ticked off, and I
censored myself. I am ticked off. That is that was the the Oh
my gosh, was I bad?Chuck? I did tell him to go
back to the mom's basement, SoI guess maybe I stooped, but that
was probably the fact. Yes.And by the way, who's the author
(12:18):
of the article? Who was theauthor? Did he put his name on?
No? What it's by the FreePress staff? Who exactly wha fe
Press staff found? Who are they? I mean, hey, they're the
Free Press. They're bringing you, allegedly, uh, the news and information
you need. Who are they? Why, Mike I told you to lock
(12:39):
the door. Yeah, I'm on, he's the one who sent me the
article. The funny thing was umformer sheriff good friend Zach Scott commented on
it, and they called him anold man and said, uh, you
know, you need to trade inyour ak for a water pistol. That
he because he was hitting them upon something that you know, one of
their lives and stuff. But andnow the funny part of it, if
(13:00):
you read the comments, and youreally need to go out there and read
the comments to get a sense ofwhat we're dealing with. Somebody put out
there that, Wow, I didn'tknow there's a gunster on Bethel Road.
I'm gonna be coming to town soon. What are your hours? And can
thanks for their advertising again. Soand by the way, they took a
slam at the station before. I'man alipd guy. I'm a radio guy.
(13:22):
Let me just tell you six tenwtv IN is number one in many
different ratings categories because of what theydo. You had Air America, it
flopped. You had Progressive Talk,it flopped. Al Franken and Janine Garoffalo
couldn't even give you a morning showthat more than seven people and their pet
poodle listen to. So there's areason people listen to that station. It's
(13:45):
because it speaks to them about whatthey want to hear about, what they
want to talk about, what theycare about. If you've got something better,
go buy yourself, a low powerstation. In it on the air,
get it on the internet and dosomething or shut up. And if
you forgot to say, we amthe radio station, speak facts and truth.
Eric called the police. No they'rehere. No, yeah, there's
(14:09):
a lot of my notice that.In fact, I saw a couple of
cruisers coming through the lot. Thatwas your escort. We sent out an
escort to bring it all and inwell, three fifteen northbound, by the
way is closed between good Ale andMedical Center Drive, so construction or they're
working on the bridge over. Iguess Fifth and King. And then I
got off at Neil, got offa six Neil and of course jazz and
ribbed fests, so that traffic wascrazy. Then Olan Tangi River Road northbound
(14:31):
was crazy. So we have anyother slowdowns around the city. You want
to talk about, you know,I'm Johnny Hill. No, no,
guys. If you're on three fifteennorthbound, though, you're gonna have a
tough time. Guys. Let's jumpto a break and we get back.
We're gonna take a little bit aboutwhat's on the show today, and well,
not much more, but there isa little bit. I can do
a couple of hours on the FreePress. Man, there is a little
(14:52):
bit more. We're on talk aboutbroadcasting lit from studios of LPD Farms and
Range. We'll be back right afterthe break. Is that Jason Aldeen?
Yes, Oh, there's another goodcontroversy going on there. Try this in
my time. You know last weekthey said they had a hard time hearing
me, so you might want toturn my audio up a little bit,
(15:13):
thank you. So I'm gonna getin trouble for saying, try this crap
over here, No, try itin a small the big controversy, it
seems now they're saying, well, the video was done in front of a
courthouse where there was a lynching.Okay, um, find me a courthouse
in a city in the southern UnitedStates where it's something like that did not
(15:35):
happen to them, where in ourhistory it was a terrible time, terrible
things happened. But now they're goingbecause of that courthouse in the background,
I guess that's well. That's alsoand whoopee. Goldberg pointed out that they
were using photos from um Antifa andthe riots that took place because they were
fighting for their rights and they wereburning cities for their rights. He use
(16:00):
legitimate news footage from legitimate news organizations, and people are objecting to the legitimate
news. Maybe if you don't wantthat kind of crap on camera, don't
do that. No, no,no. They're arguing over the fact that
he's trying to take and fight backagainst what they were standing for. It
wasn't there burning stuff down? Yeah? Oh well yeah, I'm not for
that. I'm against it as ageneral rule too. Did you see there
(16:23):
was at the time, there wasa talk about some of those yay,
who's going to some small town orin Ohio and the town fortified and bright
others in and they turn right around. You don't want to meste them small
towns, right, don't want tomest don't bring it here. Well,
guys, we'd like to start today. Well, I guess not started.
We're in the middle. By thankingChief Gilbert for jumping on with this last
(16:44):
week. Always good to hear hisvoice and took the time out from playing
with his little remote control cruisers tothe radio. That was nice of him.
That was nice This week, No, j C. We have some
news coming up though, maybe aGun of the week if we have time.
But at twelve forty second Jerry ofState and US Senate candidate Franklin Rose
is going to call in talk alittle bit more about Issue one. We
(17:06):
really want to make sure everyone understandsIssue one. I admittedly so didn't understand
the ramifications of what this is,and so we want to make sure everyone
understand and we gotta vote. Wegotta vote yes or business. Why I
thought that it upped that sixty percentto when they voted in the House and
Senate on something this The people thestate of Hire right are going to vote
(17:29):
on a constitutional change right now, fifty percent of the people plus one guy
from oh Betts can make a constitutionalchange. However, because it was close
and right now, that's what itis. Now. If we vote yes,
it will take sixty percent of thepeople voting to make a constitutional change.
I laid out the old Chappo thingfor you last week. You laugh,
(17:52):
You thought, Who's that's not ajoke. You want to you want
to propagate something, whether it's whetherit's prostitution, brothels or the transsexual shows
or whatever. You get a specialinterest, highly funded organization ye to put
that on the constitutional agenda and getpeople to vote on it. Fifty plus
one could could legalize it. Andwhy is it we need two thirds majority
(18:15):
to override a presidential veto. Whyis it outrageous to say sixty percent of
the people voting in the state ofOhio should agree on changing our constitution.
It's a sacred document here. We'renot talking about the arc where laws can
be changed in tweak. This isthe constitution. And so we're gonna get
into that a little bit more atthe bottom of the hour news. We
(18:37):
have the NRRA. The NRA isset up with us today up top.
I haven't had a chance to talkto them a lot, but they do
so much good for the fight toright to bear arms. They get involved
with all this legislation. They're outthere on the front lines with this issue
one. So stop by and seeing. They have all kinds of literature out
there in ways that you can helpwith the fight to right to bear arms.
Black Wing next Saturday, July twentyninth. Unfortunately I'm not gonna be
(19:00):
able to make it, but they'redoing their car show and a concert certainly
would be a nice, nice placeto stop and check it out. So
we wanted to give a shout outfor that. I'd like to thank our
other sponsors to Jackson, Egress,Windows, Rivers, h Cutlery in CNS
engraving, all who make the showpossible each week. You've heard the voices.
Who's with here to with us here? Today? I got Big At
and Little Chuck No JC Dad washere for a second just for the donuts
(19:22):
and he is out um ed.One thing. It was good to see
all the guys. Last night. We had a little reunion of some uh
some past officers. Little disappointed thatour LA connection didn't stop by to see
the show a live. He watchesthe show on Facebook from LA. He's
an LAPD officer and has the opportunityto come here live the hell A,
(19:44):
yeah, that's all right. We'llmake yeah, we'll make sure he Yeah.
Last night was a good time.It was good to see a lot
of the old guys we worked with, or that I worked with when I
was at the Perry Town trip.Um miss missus seeing them a lot,
so you have. It's a goodtime, good set of guys. Guys.
I'm gonna do the Chicago update quicklybecause it's kind of interesting. This
(20:04):
last week. This last week inChicago, they almost had one hundred people
shot in the last week they're upto seventeen oh seven for the year,
three hundred and sixty homicides, andum, did you hear I think it
went through. Now there's gonna beno cash bail I think in Chicago starting,
(20:25):
Yeah, in all the state ofIllinois. Now, so the heck
with it? Why you know, let's we don't know what's going on in
the streets, but let's do awaywith no cash bail. Yeah, what
do you what does that? Whatdoes that mean? They're there? Angl
they can't bail out? Or Ithink they let them out? Yep,
And you'd be sure to come backwith your court date, Edward. You
(20:47):
be sure we trust you. Youknow, here's an ankle um bracelet two
on your way out. If youmantes the show, you can always catch
a podcast that's at six ten toBTV and dot com, iHeartRadio, Google
Podcasts all places where you can catchthe show later on. I actually listened
to this show back last week. It's sounding real good, guys. I
was on my bike. Um,maybe Chicago and talk to the people there
(21:08):
about who's killing each other? Thatis true. That's probably Free Press staff
Laurie Lightfoot. She's handling things nowthere you go, guys. What else,
chuck? UM? I got acouple of stories. They're all depressing.
UM. The one though, Jacsent us some news to talk about,
and I love his titles. Thefirst one is water is wet?
(21:30):
How was that let that sink infor a second time. I'm not sure
if that's a parody headline or ifhe finally discovered that that is true the
article I talked about. A professorof criminal justice out of Buffalo State University
UM recently published an article analyzing homiciderace in New York versus the amount of
police officers on the street in proactivepolicing, and it basically said the du
(21:53):
the d policing resulting from the GeorgeFloyd protests caused caused a spike in crime
and homicides that it continues today.UM. It goes on to talk about
that prior to twenty nineteen, theywould average over thirteen thousand stops of pedestrians
and people in some of these neighborhoodsa year. That has dropped to eighty
(22:17):
three hundred in twenty twenty thirty percentdecrease. Yet now m gun violence,
domestic violence, gang, homicides, everything is increased. I mean, it's
a statement of the obvious, butit was just interesting to see one of
these professors come to that conclusion that, wow, less police on the street,
the crime goes up, so andless and less authority to notice things.
(22:37):
I mean absolutely, you see somebodynow the coat is hanging way too
low. They shouldn't even be wearingit because it's hot outside. But you
know, for you to go upand say it needs your identification, you
got a firearmina. No, that'sout of the question because you're profiling,
right, So you've got fewer officerswith fewer powers, and you wonder why
the crime goes up. Yeah, and it's and Chuck, you know,
talking to some of our guys andtalking to our buddy over to lap it,
(23:00):
I can I continue to say itis worse than most people think.
It is worse out there on thestreet, behind the scenes than most people
know. I mean, we're we'rewe're we're in for bad times ahead.
And listen, read and malloy backin that. That would make right,
That's right, guys. Let's jumpto the bottom of the hour news.
When we come back, we're gonnatalk a little bit about issue one some
(23:21):
more news and then ultimately our Secretaryof State, FRANKL. Rose is going
to be calling in to join us. We're on Target broadcasting live from the
studios of LAPD Farms Range. We'llbe back right after the break. Welcome
back on Target. I'm hesteric joinedtoday in the LAPDS two is. I
got Little Chuck and Big Ed sittingto my right. No JC, no
Papal, It's just us three amigosand ACDC who said they're going to tour
(23:44):
again. It really yes, wow, this past week made the announcement we're
getting ready for a new tour.Has there any of them left? Well,
yeah, the group is still thegroup. Well we've had one change
at the phone over the years. But yeah, I would, I would
go see then I would probably goto Monday is Chuck's birthday, by the
way, Now happy birthday early Chuck, celebrating the fact that he's not dead
(24:07):
yet. Yeah. Now you havefans, they should know. People's oh
your birthday. People should really applaudyour mother because she's the one who went
through the whole battle there. Okay, yeah, and you're not there yet.
I mean no, you know,I mean, I'm not gonna say
happy birthday. You won't be hereMonday, so you probably shouldn't text him
though. Guys, welcome back totalking. We're with you. We are
(24:29):
here at LPD Studios with a livestudio audience. Come on in, free
press, check us out. Guysup. Shortly we're gonna have Secretaries State
Frank L. Rose calling in.But before that, I wanted to get
to this Gun of the week andit is super cool. It's you know,
it's one of those ones I sithere and look, I'm like,
wow, do I need this?Do I need this? It's actually a
(24:52):
used firearm that came in the door. We haven't marked down as as new
in the boxers means it might neverhave been shot. It is a to
ninety two X performance and if you'veever seen the Bird of ninety twos,
this one is it is. It'ssuper cool. It is all steel frame.
It is heavy. It weighs inthat two tone, it weighs in
(25:14):
that forty seven ounces, but it'smore for speed and accuracy. And it's
gorgeous. I mean, it hasa if you're watching on Facebook there it
is. It's beautiful. It's meantum. It's a heavier brigade slide uh
an extremes trigger mechanism um double singleaction on that meant for for targeting,
(25:34):
you know, for for target practiceand stuff, because competition, competition in
there you go, thanks that. But it is I mean, she is
sharp shot in Michigan drooling right now. Yeah, now, I'm admittedly so
it is a little expensive. Imean for a used fire and when you're
still talking, you know, justunder fourteen hundred dollars, but I think
it retails for seventeen or something likethat. But if that's something you've been
(25:56):
interested in, or if you're afan of the Bird of ninety too,
might not be a bad idea tostop back and stop in and see this.
What do you think that forty that'sone ounce short of three pounds unloaded?
Yeah, that is unloaded. Threepounds unloaded. I don't want to
carry oh, I you wouldn't carefor the r I don't want to hold
(26:17):
it load. That's that's heavy, chuck. It is gorgeous. The craftsmanship
is beautiful, the edges are sharp. It's a beautiful gut. But three
pounds unloaded, chuck. If younotice it's what is that stainless? I
believe so, Yes, it's soyou know, they made it that way
as a dual purpose on the selfdefense. Yes, one for a boat
(26:40):
anchor. Okay, well you canuse it, but you know, can
you imagine, I mean the requoilmust be beautiful on that. Yeah,
the Supernight is something we thought we'dhighlight. It came in I think this
week actually and actually kind of tostay on them. The bretta line,
We're getting a couple new they's areally neat ninety two style pistols coming.
(27:00):
There's one that we have coming inthis week that has an optic already mounted
to it. It is super sharp. So if that's your thing, if
you like the bird in ninety twoplatform, come check them out because this
one is for sale as well assome new ones that are coming in this
week. You should do a promotionlike every time you buy a baretta you
get a picture of Robert Bleake,it would or check Douglas or free Cockatol
(27:22):
whatever that bird was he had,Remember Fred the bird, Yeah, that
was his bird man. I'm behindmy all my shows, guys. One
of the piece of news that's notgood news, but JC sent it over
to us today. Federal judge inOregon go figure ruled that the magazine band
can stay it was constitutional, whichis a little bit disturbing because if these
(27:45):
magazine bands, you know, startto get ruled that way by some of
these federal judges, who knows whatit's going to do to other states.
And this is all this all goesto the whole issue one. I mean,
you start allowing some of this stuffto get through and all of a
sudden at a special one to sgroups, that's his Bloomberg or mother's demand
action coming to Ohio. And canyou imagine if they did away with preemption.
(28:07):
I mean, that would be devastatingto the firearms community to do away
with that. So that's really what'stop of the list for a lot of
us. For the TSU one,We're going to need a comprehensive guns second
Amendment case in front of the SupremeCourt. We have too many regional federal
judges too. You know, bumpstocks are bad. Bump stocks are okay,
(28:32):
Pistol races are bad. Pistol gracesare okay. Magazines are bad.
Magazines are okay. We can't haveall of these little regional things. This
has got to go to the SupremeCourt and make an overall decision once and
for all what is and what isnot a firearm and regulated by the problem,
Chuck is that even when the SupremeCourt rules, these states now are
(28:53):
defiant, they're saying the heck withit, and they continue to do it.
There's a story that Jayc's going todo a next week. I think
in Maryland. They have a supermajoritythere, I think for the Democratic Party,
and there is something on the booksthat is getting ready to be passed
that is it's incredible how anti gunit is. I mean, it even
(29:14):
gets to the level where law enforcementsnot allowed to carry off duty. It
is that crazy. And so they're, you know, in direct defiance of
some of these Supreme Court rulings, but they're saying, what the heck and
just doing whatever they want. So, as an officer then released of their
off duty obligation, I'm sure, but I have about protecting yourself even you
know, you run into someone you'vearrested. It. It's just craziness.
(29:36):
And that judge out in San Joseand story him out this week that they
upheld the gun ownership insurance which mandatesyou have to have insurance if you purchase
a firearm. I mean, that'sjust that's crazy. Well, that goes
with all of your constitutional rights.Right, do you have to have mandatory
insurance for your freedom of speech? You have to have mandatory insurance against illegal
surge and seizure. Yeah, wellno you don't. Hmm. That might
(30:00):
be a problem. Is this craziness? Guys. We're gonna jump to an
early break here because on the otherside, we're gonna have Secretary of State
in US Senate candidate Frank LeRose onwith us. We're gonna talk about Issue
one and some of the things youreally need to know and understand about it
for that upcoming election. That's justin a couple of weeks. We're on
Target breadcasting live from the studios ofLPD Farms and arranged. We'll be back
(30:22):
right after the break. On asouth side of Chicago. It's the baddest
part of town. And if yougo down there, you're better. Just
be aware of a man name aLee ro Brown. You know his son's
playing by the way, really sogood. He's got a show it's called
Crowchy On Crowchy Really and he's inNorthern Ohio this weekend playing Wow. He
(30:45):
plays Dad's song plays his dad's stuffand stuff that he wrote is inspired by
his dad's Wow Gone Way Too Early. Yeah, I still listen to that
album quite often and stuff. Welcomeback to on Target. I'm Here's Derek
joined today in the LAPD studios.I got Big Ed and Little Chuck to
my right and we are going touh welcome to the show. A good
friend of ours, Secretary of Stateand US Senate candidate Frank LeRose. How
(31:07):
are you doing, sir? Soyou were playing Jim crocey Leroy Brown.
I think Ohio and should be awareof a man named Shared Brown, bad
bad Boy. If that's not theyou know what, that's when we need
someone quick thinking on their fee.Sir, did you reckon? Did you
uh um ask ella to play that? No? I did not, But
(31:27):
that'll be my bumper music from nowon. That that is perfect, bad
bad Shared Brown. That that's justhey, just let everyone know you heard
that first. Here you got itand something else I'm proud to share with
the Target on Target audiences. DidI announced my campaign to this week for
the US Senate. We're off toa strong start, eighteen point lead in
(31:49):
the poll. That is wonderful. We did pick up on that. We're
so excited for you and so excitedto support absolutely, we need to do
an event here and have quail biteon your arm again. There you go.
Well, there's only one candidate inthis Republican primary that has from Second
Amendment voting record and has a onepercent pro life voting record, and that's
(32:13):
me. So I'm the battle testicconservative and we're going to win this thing.
That is great. We will bewith you there every step of the
way, sir. Today, Iwanted to talk a little bit about the
Issue one and I'm going to teeit up with a couple of things here
because admittedly so I didn't know allthe ins and outs of it, but
it is slowly coming to me hereand I can't believe the gravity of how
important it is to vote yes onIssue one here in a couple of weeks.
(32:36):
You know, just just listen,I guess, let's just listen to
these entities who want Issue one notto pass. Ohio Democratic Party, League
of Women Voters, Planned Parenthood,Ohio Education Association, Democratic Socialists of Ohio
ACOU just to name a few.But what all of these organizations have in
(32:58):
common in their by laws They needsixty percent or more to change them.
Yet they don't want that same thinkinggoing to the Constitution of the State of
Ohio, which should be a sacreddocument, not something that you change whimsically.
You know the arc. Fine,we can talk about that and have
(33:19):
things come in and out of that, but we have to hold this document
up to the highest standards, anddoing that is voting yes on Issue one
and in making it so sixty percentis needed to change it. What are
your thoughts there, sir, Yeah, I'll tell you what, Eric,
You couldn't be more right. Ifyou look at the cast of characters who
are opposing Issue one, that shouldtell you everything you need to know and
what hypocrites they are because they knowthat it would be common sense to never
(33:45):
allow a fair majority to change yourby laws, your foundational rules. Well,
in fake government, that's the constitution. And the left has big plans.
They want to try to get ridof our gun right. They want
to try to massively increase the minimumway agent Ohio. They want to get
rid of qualified immunity for police officers. It's pretty surprising to me that the
(34:05):
FOP hasn't come out as a yeson Issue one. They really should be,
because it's about protecting all of thesethings that we hold sacred and keeping
bad ideas from California out of oursecond out of our state constitution, including,
by the way, protecting our gunright. Because they know they can't
get a radical liberal agenda done toour state legislature, the only hope they
(34:27):
have is to spend millions of dollarsto put it on the ballot as a
constitutional amendment. If we don't wantOhio to become California, we all have
to get out and vote yes onIssue one. And by the way,
it's easy. Early voting continues forthe next two weeks an election day as
August Day. It is so easyto get out and make your voice heard.
And this is one of the mostcrucial votes you'll ever cast. And
(34:49):
it's so true. And maybe I'mthe only one who didn't get this,
but when I initially looked at this, I thought that sixty had to do
with the legislators and when they're votingon something. But this is at the
ballot box. So what this means? And I just wrote down a few
things that could be coming up onthis election in November, or certainly on
one's coming beyond that, but thingsout there about legalizing marijuana could be a
(35:14):
ballot that with fifty one percent orfifty plus one could get passed. The
abortion issue could be on there, all this gender dysphoria, letting your kids
you choose their gender and go throughthese surgeries at the parents knowing all of
this could be on the ballot andfor just fifty plus one go into the
state constitution. Let alone. Whenyou start to get into the firearms part
(35:37):
of it, preemption, I mean, Sarah, we were talking about that
before you came on. If Ohiopreemption went away, it would be devastating
to the firearms industry in Ohio.Yet it wouldn't take much for a Bloomberg
or one of these other organizations tocome in and blitz Ohio and get something
like that pass. That's why it'sso important to get out and vote on
(36:00):
August set. Issue one is aboutgun rights, it's about parental rights.
It's about keeping business strong, includingagriculture. That's why the Farm Bureau and
the Chamber of Commerce or yes onIssue one. It's about preventing the left
from buying our constitutions. They've figuredout that if you spend ten million dollars.
You can ram through a dangerous agendainto Ohio's constitution. But we're onto
(36:23):
them. We figured it out. That's why they're having a full scale freak
out about this and telling lives. They're saying that this takes away majority rules.
No such thing. All it doesis elevates constitutional amendments to a higher
level. A simple majority can stillchange the law. As you mentioned the
Ohio Revised Code policymaking, that's stilla fifty percent plus one vote, including
(36:45):
by the citizens can do a referendumto change the laws of Ohio. That's
still fifty percent plus one. Allthis says, all that Issue one says
is that we have to have asixty percent vote in order to change the
constitution. And you have to gathernatures in all idiot counties, not just
forty four. And you got toget it right the first time by gathering
the right number of sign three.Mister Lurose, I want to stress here,
(37:07):
I don't think we're pounding that eightyeight county situation near that beat them
with their own stick, because whatthe NO people are saying, this is
against democracy and this takes away theone man, one vote the current situation
allows you to go to Kuyahoga,Hamilton, and Franklin and get all the
signatures you need to get something onthe ballot to change our constitution. This
(37:29):
way, the people in Jackson,Ohio have the same voice as the people
in Cleveland, and that needs tobe said out loud, because that is
that is a very important aspect firstof all, to the bill. Secondly,
it negates their argument that there's takingaway votes. We're actually giving more
of a voice to the people whohave been silenced to this point. And
it makes absolutely yeah. Issue wonstrengthens democracy. Don't don't be fooled by
(37:52):
the lives of the left and thesehypocrites from out of state that are trying
to tell Ohio how to run ourown business. What they ought to do
is look at Joe Biden's home stateof Delaware, where citizens can't even propose
a constitutional amendment. In states likeDelaware and the vast majority of other states,
you have to have a constitutional conventionor passes through the state legislature.
(38:13):
Even as after Issue one passes,Ohio citizens still have the ability to propose
a constitutional amendment. We're just raisingthe threshold of sixty percent, because you
shouldn't change the rules unless you builda broad consensusive people around that idea.
And in Delaware, the people canbring it to the legislature and the legislature
can still go no, we don'tthink that's valid and move on. Which
(38:35):
is that's insulting. That is insultingto Americans that you know, these elected
officials that are representing you can overrideyou without any regard for anything you said.
Many states have higher thresholds. Veryliberal states like Massachusetts and Illinois have
a higher threshold the pass constitutional amendmentstates like Florida. This is a mainstream
(38:57):
idea, and once Ohio passes issueon, we'll join the majority of other
states that have common sense protections inplace to keep their constitution from being for
sale. Sir, and we're talkingto Ohio Secretary of State FRANKL. Rose
in US Senate candidate. Now,it seems like, and Chuck and I
we talked about this last week.It seems like the other side has a
(39:20):
jump on us far as getting themessage out. I mean, all the
commercials and stuff. Do you thinkthat here the next couple of weeks,
we'll see the Republicans are the conservativebase start to get out there and be
more vocal. Yeah, the commonsense Ohioans that want to protect their constitutions.
I'll tell you what I'm doing today. I'm in Toledo right now knocking
on doors with a great group ofconservatives. I was in Wood County doing
(39:44):
that earlier. You're right, theother side has outspent us. There's a
lot of money coming in from allaround the country because they know how important
this is for them for their liberalagenda. If they're to have any chance
of getting things done, they haveto defeat Issue one. We're going to
beat them at their own game.Though. I think That'll Islands are getting
out to vote. They're becoming awareof this, and I think we're going
to see a pretty tight election. But if we get all of our folks
(40:07):
out to vote, we can winthis, and I believe we will.
Here's another thing. The liberal mediais not on our side. They've been
telling all kinds of life. Lookat the crazy editorials being run in places
like the Columbus Dispatch and the ClevelandPlain Dealer. One of them said,
Morose is trying to put a niceto the throat of democras him. If
you ever heard such a Herbolgs. They are in a full scale freakout,
(40:28):
and the media is driving that message. People need people know better, though
they're not going to be full science. That's great. That little snippet they
used of him in the television commercial, by the way, is insulting,
and I want you to know Iwas insulted on your behalf one little snippet
where he says it absolutely is aboutabortion. He also says, and it's
about this, and it's about thisand more. It's more it leads about
(40:50):
this. But no, it tookthat little snippet to try to make it
look like something it's not. Media. I keep saying it. Every time
we talk issue one with the media, we're hearing Republicans introduced abortion rights,
legalize marijuana. They're equating those threethings together to try to villainize the whole
concept. And if you don't thinkyou're being let around by the nose by
(41:10):
your media, then you're not payingattention and probably shouldn't vote anyway. That
firsture you talked about was completely dishonest. I gave a twelve minute speech and
I talked about how this is aboutprotecting business, protecting agriculture, protecting gun
rights, and yes, there's alsoa radical abortion amendment on potentially on the
ballot this November, and it's alsoabout that, but not exclusively. Yeah,
(41:31):
they've lifted ten seconds out of atwelve minute speech and used it in
a very dishonest, out of contextway, which is typical. I mean,
I know you probably don't read theClumbus Free Press and you probably shouldn't,
but we had a hit piece againstus this week on that, and
it's just it's it's typically. Imean, I am all about standing up
and having a good you know, adult conversation, less talk. Facts,
(41:53):
you know, change my view.My views aren't absolute, but these people
just continue you to just throw outthings and then once confronted, you know,
back off and go hide because theydon't want to They don't have the
basis to argue that the facts andstuff. So it's just it's just crazy.
We really appreciate you calling in todayand being out there knocking on doors.
(42:15):
We're super excited about your run forus and it I'm I'm the whole
gym crowtry thing. I love itbrown and I'm the guy that can feed
him. Thanks so much, youguys. I really appreciate it all.
Right, thank you sir, beingsafe out there. That was our Secretary
of State, Frankly Rose. Imeant to thank him too. I renewed
my notary this week. Super easynow with this new process. Yeah,
(42:37):
do you have you have your storyexpire? Because I heard it was going
to be very cumbersome and time supereasy for especially if you're in law enforcement
and stuff. So yeah, backto were notaries. I'm going to go
buy a used car. Now,there you go. You can stamp it
that I saw a Cadillac for saleover on six. Oh really I think
(42:57):
it was dark. Wow about myling. So guys man still here, we've
packed a lot into this, uhto this last hour or what? What
are the things on your mind?Chuck, you got a couple of minutes
here. I know you've been offthe air for a couple of days,
so I know it's building up.It does, It does constantly build up.
And I've been listening to the policescanner way too much, and uh,
the stuff that's happening that is notgetting on the left wing liberal news
(43:22):
is just really amazingly. They usedto chase stories, they used to chase
sensationalism. Now it's like they don'teven try unless you send them a press
release for them to cut and paste. Unto the teleproperm they don't even bother.
But I was listening to another chaseof a stolen vehicle last night over
started around the old Cooper Stadium anduh, haven't heard word one, but
(43:42):
this was eventful. I had tochopp her up all kinds of cars.
Guy jumped out of the car, went running, left the girl in the
car so and then she apparently startedfighting with the officer. They call for
an ambulance for the officer. Itwas not a mention on any of the
news coverage in this town. Amazingwhat gets ignored around here. My buddy
is flying the chopper last night.I ought to I ought to call him
and get the get the skinny onthat he'll get some stories. Yep,
(44:07):
that's it, guys. Um Yes, Edward, Hey, I just want
to say something. A wise manonce told me a long time ago that
the world is not a fair place. Nobody said that life was going to
be easy, he did say,and I was just reminded of this earlier
today. Say a kind thing,be kind to one another, and say
(44:30):
something nice. Eric. I haveto say that you do a fine job
getting everything out on the radio, telling the people the truth. Chuck,
you do the same thing. Youdo a fine job. And that's my
advice today. Say something kind andthey're so sweet. Guys. One other
(44:51):
thing too, our officer who wasshot on seventy he still needs our thoughts
and prayers, still struggling. He'snot out of the woods. Guys.
We gotta keep him on our inour prayers. Do what you can to
help their family. FOP is doingan event here in a couple of weeks,
be a part of that and reallyhelp out because he has he has
a long road ahead of him.Absolutely, guys, thanks for spending the
(45:13):
last hour with us. Join usnext week. We'll keep you updated on
everything. Vote yes on issue oneand as always, as always, let's
be careful out there.
