(00:00):
Whether you are in the firearms industryare simply a firearm enthusiast. There are
some absolutes that are known to allfelons cannot possess firearms suppressors require a tax
stamp to own and to manufacture oralter a firearm. To shoot fully automatic,
or to possess one without having atax stamp is immediate grounds for federal
(00:23):
charges, serious charges, potentially tenyears in federal prison for you or I,
and the potential to lose your rightto own a firearm for life.
This prohibition is so sacred and takenso seriously that over a ten year period
where sixty five thousand federal gun chargeswere carried out by the U. S.
(00:43):
Attorney's Office, only seven percent wereattributed to possessing an illegal fully automatic
firearm. It is truly no joke. Well unless, of course, it
is no joke, unless, ofcourse, you have a joke for the
lead prosecutor in your area. Yousee, there's been a lot of articles
(01:06):
and media stories, stories dating backfor almost a year and a half in
Columbus regarding a small, inexpensive devicebeing used by mostly juvenile thugs used to
convert their firearms to fully automatic guns. It was reported this week that an
all of last year, Columbus policeconfiscated seventeen of these glock switches off of
(01:30):
our streets, a device that turnsa semi automatic handgun into some that potentially
fires an entire magazine of bullets indiscriminatelywith one pull the trigger. This year,
this year alone, already fifty twohave been recovered, and several homicide
scenes are suspected of having these highlyillegal devices used during the crime. When
(01:56):
these began to come onto the scenelast year, I actually had some sad
stisfaction knowing that the discretion to chargethese hoodlums was taken out of the hands
of our county attorney and put inthe hands of federal prosecutors. Finally,
federal charges. Finally we have someavenue to get these punks off the street
(02:16):
and into the prisons like they shouldhave been all along. You see,
remarkably, in Franklin County, themere illegal possession of a firearm by a
juvenile, even if used during thecommission of a crime, get you a
firm lecture, a puppy, anda happy meal most days. Surely,
(02:36):
if politicians were sincere about impacting crime, they now had an opportunity. I
was in disbelie though, six monthsago, when I spoke to a federal
agent about these switches and was toldI was told that federal prosecutors Federal prosecutors
will not charge juveniles in crime, that role being left up local authorities.
(03:01):
The agent, though as disgusted asI said, they were given assurance that
due to the severity of the crime, due to the fact that a firearm
was being converted to a fully automaticgun capable of causing havoc and destruction in
the hands of a criminal, Countyprosecutors were pursuing these charges every time these
low lifes were caught. August eighteenth, twenty twenty three Canal Winchester, Ohio,
(03:29):
during a high school football game withhundreds hundreds of innocent attendees, three
thugs were arrested. Three juvenile thugswere arrested and charged with possession of a
firearm. All three contained fully automaticglock switches. Notably, one thug was
heard laughing as he was put intothe cruiser, having already endured gun possession
(03:52):
charges from earlier this year in FranklinCounty, and knowing he'd be home before
the eleven o'clock news. The scenedrew much attention, and I began to
wonder if this time they would staybehind bars unwittingly having possessed a machine gun.
I asked around, and what Idiscovered was sickening. In this backwards,
(04:15):
thug driven, crime filled city wherethe leaders blame safe, responsible gun
owners for their horrible decisions. ThinkI'm exaggerating this. I can be charged
today with a mandatory sentence for owninga thirty round magazine, one bought legally
and used lawfully for twenty five years, but now illegal. Where I can
(04:36):
own a simple brace on a firearmpurchased legally and without any statistics to prove
these are responsible for any rise incrime, myself and thirty five million Americans
unsuspecting are now felons overnight. Thisis the environment we live in today under
our local and national leadership. WhatI found out this week when asking about
(05:00):
charges for glock switches was that untilnow, over the past year and a
half, TAIAX office had yet tocharge one of these punks, good for
nothing thugs for possession of a machinegun, leaving them to terrorize communities time
(05:20):
and time and time and time again. Unflipping, believable, unacceptable, unacceptable
for someone elected to prosecute criminals andkeep the streets safe. And what do
we do? What do we do? We sit on our damn hands.
I've had it. Where is thedemand for Tayak to go in front of
(05:42):
the cameras and explain how he couldhave let this happen? Demand answers,
demand changes, or prepare yourself becauseif you haven't already found or had the
effects of lawlessness and Columbus, itwon't be long before it rise at your
doorstep or where you work, areat the IDO parts store down the street.
For damn's sakes, get serious andvote these idiots out of their leadership
(06:05):
roles. Have the courage to standup like Prosecutor Anthony Pearson did this week
and say enough is enough. It'stime to put the woke crap back in
the bag and do what is right. If there's any hope for Columbus,
support those who fight every day anddo not do not let this city slip
away. Good afternoon, Welcome ourtarget. I'm broadcasting live from the studios
(06:30):
of LPD Firearms Range and Training Facility, located at nine nine nine Bethel Road.
I'm your host, Eric, alongwith my father Phil, he's putting
on the headsets. Would you believewould you believe that was tamed down?
Chuck Douglas? I would believe thatwas I was yaying you as I was
listening to it, because you're exactlyright on everything you said. Let me
(06:53):
explain something, Eric woke wo kis a cinnamon or cinmon a synonym for
fascism, Marxism, Nazism. Ifyou look at the readings of Karl Marx,
(07:14):
if you look at the readings andthe quotes of Lenin Mussolini. The
liberal Democrats are following that playbook, part of which is let the criminals out.
Let's check We've check the box.Let the criminals out. You know,
uh, let's less ban religion orlet's let's get on religions, cases
(07:36):
about things culture. You know,in my opinion, there's only two genders,
but how many to do the liberalscall it? You know, fifty
genders? Come on? You know, I wish people would wake up because
in not so distanced future, thiscountry is going down to two and I
(08:01):
don't understand if we still have theright to vote, and people are not
that intelligent to see what is happeningand what the cause of what is happening
is the politicians that are in officeat the time. If they can't see
that, then they can't see it. And they're purposely not intelligent. And
this is why they stopped teaching historyin depth a couple of decades ago.
(08:26):
We got too many stupid people registeredto vote who have no idea who's Stalin
or Marx or Mussolini or any ofthem are. They've got no clue and
so they don't see what's right infront of them because they've never been taught
it. They are waiting for thisutopian government to save everything, you know.
And that that's the way Karl Marxconvinced to people all these do these
(08:48):
idiots in history, that's how theyconvinced the people a utopia, you know,
you know, and they want tostay in power, you know,
and they'll do anything to stay inpower. Yep, you know. That's
uh it is. It is scary. And now see now you got me
all so you know something, youknow, what's amazing about all of this.
What's amazing about all of this isI'm sitting here next to my father,
(09:11):
who I've sat next two millions oftimes, and you quoting marks and
stuff. And you know what, and people out there may not realize this,
but in your retirement years here kindof call that retirement years, even
though you're here every day, youhave taken up reading and the amount of
books that you read. It's utterlyridiculous in a good way. The biggest
(09:35):
threat to democracy and our republic isthe woke culture. Now that's coming up,
and idiot people cannot see that becauseI'll tell you why, because like
you said, these younger generations, they don't know about Karl Mark. They
don't look back at history of allthe failures. They don't look at that,
(09:58):
you know, they look at whatthe liberal democrats are promising. Well,
we can do this and this andthis. For you, it is
it is ridiculous. And now I'mgonna kind of crack on my generation because
this revolution of sorts started in thesixties. It started in the sixties with
(10:18):
people like me. I I didnot, you know, protest, but
and I started my country. Butthose same protest people now you know,
the the their cousins are the blomand Antifa and Antifa, you know,
(10:39):
no real difference there. But thesepeople that protest back then, grew up,
got into government and got into theuniversities. And our kids are getting
a dose of fascism daily. Andolder folks are in rest homes and nursing
homes and assistant living facilities, nolonger living at home and passing down knowledge
(11:01):
to the to the next generation. And fathers aren't required in the homes.
So the fire of the man toteach his children that this is right and
this is wrong, and up isdown and none of that exists. This
is this has been decades long.Americans are so spoiled. We need remote
controls and and and microwave ovens.Everything's got to be right now, right
(11:22):
now, right now. You don'tunderstand the people that are that are Vietmina
opposed to the American wave of life. They will wait decades, they will
wait look at the Middle East, they will wait centuries for vengeance on their
enemies. If it's not happening tomorrow, we don't think about it. And
that's that is the biggest flaw wehave in Americans. We don't see the
(11:45):
big, big, big picture.Let me tell you the other the other
fault too, is that a polltaken recently, there's a very high percentage.
Maybe I don't know. If inthe forties percentage of people polled do
not like the United States, theydon't like living here, well then move
out. So yeah, come on, you know right? So anyway,
(12:07):
now I'm taking off my headset. All right. I wanted to be home
doing a little George or anything. But I'm glad we've had this conversation.
That's a socialist that's a socialist program. I would actually back anybody who wants
to stand up and say I hatethis country, I don't want to be
in this country. I would say, I will authorize my government to buy
the ticket to get the hell outand don't come back. I donate to
(12:28):
that. So, guys, weare the owners of LAPD Firearms Trains and
Training Facility, interactive in law enforcement. But for one hour on Saturdays we
could really use to check. Onehour on Saturdays, we put together a
group of firearm experts to discuss newproducts in the market, training tips,
and oftentimes political topics surrounding the SecondAmendment. Our commitment that has always been
to bring facts to you, ourlisteners, and our customers about our industry
(12:52):
and altimately help with safe, responsibleownership of firearms. JC. I haven't
gone to you yet, are you? Are you there just saying everything you
guys said. I'm just boiling uphere at the thought that this stuff is
going on and America just is blindto it. Of course, they want
the young folks to vote because heck, they don't even know what county they're
in or who the representatives are,yet they want them to. Hey,
(13:13):
this is where we need to gothis woke crap, let's say said.
I mean, even Elon must justsaid the whole point of George Soros is
to spend thollusions of dollars to teardown the fabric of America and to try
to rebuild it again. But everythingyou're saying is just true. Why don't
people read this? We need tostart giving quotes from Mussolini and Linen and
(13:37):
Stalin, and we'd need just maybea quote every show to show the people,
Hey, this is what they wrote. Oh guess what we're doing the
same thing. So yeah, sothat's exactly it happened to those kids.
By the way, you didn't saythat. What did actually happen? After
that football game? They got arrested. Who I assume they're out. I
emailed one of the local television reportersthat was covering it and ask you know
(13:58):
what, and never even got Iknow that one of the local reporters had
asked for an interview with Tayak andthen got refused or no response from them
their office. Now I will saythere was a silver lining there. I
did you know that the I thinkAnthony Pearson is his name. He's a
Franklin County prosecutor who's I think it'sfairly new to the office. Seems to
(14:20):
be no nonsense kind of guy, color blind and to do the right thing.
Maybe that's will turn the tides inthat office. Won't last. We
hope, we hope, I meanhe hoped it might. Shop in the
lion cage man, I hope,I hope. Guys. I want to
thank listen to this, Chuck.I want to thank our buddy Richie for
(14:41):
calling in last week from conniek Ohio, Okay, way way up there,
northeastern Ohio. He was there fora re enactment. He does these World
War Two re enactments. He calledin get this. This was kind of
neat after he was on the showlast week at this time from when he
got off the show to When hewas done that day of five o'clock,
he had two people look for himat the re enactment and say, Hey,
(15:05):
I just heard you on the radioand stuff. I wanted to meet
you clear up there, Chuck.Well, that's better than I heard you
on the radio. I want tosue you. Well, that is true.
Yes, so we thought that wasthat was kind of neat. Yeah,
two hundred and thirty one miles away, and I guess the voice does
get out there a little bit. This week, JC is going to catch
us up on some news here shortly, and we have two Guns of the
(15:26):
week, very similar iconic. They'reboth here for saying. I don't know
how we have both of these atthe same time. Here. We're going
to talk about that up here shortly, and that is sponsored by our good
friends over at Black Wing Shooting Center. Let's see what else if we have
time today, Chuck. I don'teven know why I say this, because
we never have time. But ifwe have time in that final segment,
we might actually even take a coupleof calls. Oh yes, that scares
(15:50):
me. Yeah, me too.We look to think our sponsors, Jackson,
Egress, Windows, Black Wing ShootingCenter, Rivers, Cutlery, CNS
engraving and also LP Training Facility, all who make the show possible each week.
Guy, we're gonna jump to abreak, and when we come back,
we're gonna do the Gun of theWeek. We're gonna mix up a
little bit. Do the Gun ofthe week, talk about that, and
then catch news after at the bottomof the hour. News we're on talking
(16:10):
at broadcasting live from the studios ofLPD Farms Range. We'll be back right
after the break. Are you rubbingit in that I didn't get to go.
I didn't know. I thought youwere there, Thanks a lot,
you weren't there, thanks a lot. Well, then let me dedicate this
to you, chuck mm. HonestlyI thought you were there. No,
(16:33):
I didn't get to go. Stuffcame up. Life happens. I am
such and I'm not afraid to admitit. I am such a huge berry
Manilow fan. I just yell,it broke my heart. Wow. Wow.
And you know what, we'll talkabout it later in the show.
But you now have a spot onDVTV and during the week. Yeah,
(16:55):
and uh, there was you dida little of your own version of a
little parody. So a little parody. What try to get that on the
ear and stuff. Hey, alsothis week too, before we jump to
the Gun of the week, Ishould mention that Ella, our producers who
keeps everything running on the backside, she came and shot pretty darn good shot.
(17:15):
I mean even out shot her teenageson. Yes, I know you
don't mess with that of her.I'm proud of her. Yeah, you
haything. That's say for yourself there, Ella, I will always come in
and say, my very first shotwas almost the middle of the target.
Yeah, I'm telling you should haveput the gun down after that one.
No, you did, You didreally good? Did you everr sign it
(17:37):
and put it up on the wall? Give you be on the hall of
fame? I'm not important enough.No. I figured it would be best
you take that home to remind yourson every day who's boss. Yeah,
and keep him in a bad moodevery day. It gives it gives them
something to shoote for. Right thereyou go, ind No, guys.
The Gun of the Week spongored byBlack Wings Shooting Center. We actually have
(17:59):
two of them. The SKS rifleis iconic and the ones we have here
happened to be one from the Tulaarsenal in a nurenko win, which are
both highly desirable. So I figuredI teed up with JC and let him
talk about him because he knows moreabout these than than I will ever know.
The trigger guard they look very WorldWar two ish. Well, when
(18:22):
you look at JC, tell usa little bit about the SKS is well,
the SKS is sny hermy all right, yes, yep, yeah,
okay, all right, JFKs isuh. They were developed basically because of
World War Two, and in fortythree they started doing the development for this.
They're facing the Germans, and Germanshad the cird war forty four,
(18:44):
which was a semi automatic, andthey developed this intermediate cartridge. It was
shorter, a little less powerful, but most of the stuff was close range.
And when the Russians found us outgoing yeah, we're getting we're getting
slaughtered by these Sumi automatic ones.We have bold actions. So bottom line
real quickly as they hey, we'vegot to start develop a the So in
nineteen forty three they started to developthe SKS and the name of SKS uh,
(19:07):
by the way, it's something youcan't pronounce, but it's it's as
seminary carbina and then Seminova who wasthe engineer behind it. So basically it's
just a short car being designed byhim. It potential layout, I mean
gas operated spring bolt carrier and it'sgot a gasp a piston operating run.
(19:27):
And we talked about the impingement versuspiston versus the sixteen, but I'm sixteen.
But they even had it, youknow, back then. Anyway,
it was easy. They did itmore for being robust and incredibly reliable.
It had a a internal magazine thatheld ten rounds. You could hit a
(19:48):
latch on the end and it wouldswing down for cleaning purposes, but you
could load it by hand or stripperclips. Anyway, they said, hey,
here's our kind of our answer touh, you know, semi automatics,
and they started, U, youknow, to come up with this
rifle. The one we have isreally very very nice. Well we have
two of them, and one ofthem Chinese, but the Russian one is
(20:10):
a Tula, and all the peoplewho collect Russian stuff the tulas. That
just a great arsenal. It wasfounded by Peter the Great in seventeen twelve.
It's been operating for three hundred andeleven years. For goodness sake.
And but this this rifle, theymade them at the Tula Arsenal, which
(20:30):
is the one that we have, between nineteen forty nine and nineteen fifty eight.
So ours is I think on nineteenfifty one era one, So very
very well, beautiful, reliable rifles. Unfortunately, many of our Vietnam veterans
face these because China started manufacturing themunder a license from Russia and dumped probably
(20:51):
millions of them in Vietnam for thepeasants. Anybody who could aim and point
could could shoot one of these, righte wow geeze? So what and how
many did you say they estimated weremade over the period of time? Hello,
yep, you said for what Isaid? How many we have been
made over time? Oh, justa few of them. I think they
(21:15):
can estimate about over fifteen million ofthese rifles have been manufactured. But again,
the Tula one, which is thekrum de la Krem one you want
to own, that was only fromforty nine to fifty eight. But when
China started making them, they startedmanufacturing them, and they called it type
fifty six because they started manufacturing themin nineteen fifty six, and they really
(21:41):
started dumping them into all of thecountries that they supported because they were relatively
cheap to make, I get druggedreliable, and it shoots the ever popular,
really ever popular at seven point sixtwo by thirty nine cartridge, which
is used in the AK forty sevenand a lot of a lot of rifles.
But but this is where it started, so it's just and there.
(22:03):
The one has a spike ban atthe Chinese after certain serial numbers started using
the spike bandett, but the Russianones always used that blade banett that that
looks so wonderful folds underneath the barrel. Well and JC what it was kind
of ironic, and Dada was talkingabout this before the show. You know,
it wasn't that long ago. Youcould go to a gun show and
(22:26):
there was crates of these and youcould get them for seventy nine dollars.
And now you're some of these, especially the Tula ones, I mean they're
up, we're pushing a thousand dollars. I mean you could buy them,
literally buy the crate for at onepoint. Well, the toolists have always
been I think, you know, fairly rare because they stopped making them as
a tool I'm fifty eight. Thatwas a long time ago. But I
(22:48):
went to a gunshow once real quicklyI bought these. I started to walk
away, and the guy goes, you don't want one of these? And
want one these? And I saidwhat are they? And they were the
sks Chinese and of the and Isaid, I'm not insuing. He goes,
well, I'll sell you five ofthem packed in, possibly for three
hundred bucks. I went five forthree hundred bucks. So I bought them.
(23:10):
And as like these greasy things whichyou packed in, I know it
is going to take it off.As I was leaving, he said,
you're coming back to this and Isaid for what? Well, each one
came with a spam can each oneof twelve hundred rounds thirty nine. So
I get five cases of those infive rifles for three hundred Wow. It
(23:30):
was back in seventy how a GunCultures Association back in the seventies with it
was a mescemorial, but probably mybuy of my buy of my life.
You're the kind of guy that youjust go to traffic and follow armored trucks
because eventually there or is gonna pop, is gonna fall. That's right,
guys, let's jump to the Bottoof the ur Right, can we get
back. We're gonna get to somenews with jac We're on toung of Broadcasting
(23:52):
Life and the studios of LPD Farmsand Range. We'll be back right after
the news. Welcome back to ourtarget. I'm your host Eric Joint today
with a little Chuck, Little ChuckDouglas, who is now on six ten
WTV in two or three nights aweek. At this point, it's Tusday
Wednesday and Thursday at six that ifyou miss the announcement last Monday. It
makes me, it makes me feelwonderful just to be in the room again.
(24:15):
Yep, it's good. And Iactually can catch it now because a
lot of times on the way tothe gym or the way home and stuff.
So keep telling people you go toa gym. Burger King is not
a gym, is it? Sorry? Man? Now, I don't wake
up looking like this Chuck one wouldhope not Obama chiahad off the air.
By the way, how about theworld's greatest mug shot? Was that not
(24:38):
the best? First of all,I look, I know he's making the
doctor evil face and all that stuff. And he got on coffee mugs and
stuff already. But was that nottechnically the best mug shot you have ever
seen? I mean, the clearestlens, the perfect color. No,
but you know Trump had his ownprofessional mug shot takers flying to Atlanta had
(25:00):
to be How do you think doyou think he thought about our ahead of
him? You know we did.Yeah, it took him fifteen minutes after
he walked out of the place tohave the mugs online for Zoe. Are
they out there? Yes, youcan get all kinds of truck stuff.
Now with that that evil doctor whathe when did he get the eyebrows that
went down like that? It's likea Scooby Doo villain. Yeah, that's
awesome that I love it. Thatis if waste. Also here of jac
(25:23):
on the phone with us, jaycare you there? I am here?
So I love that mud shot too. I agree with that one hundred percent.
I just can't believe trying to doto the sky for an election kick
him tight up so he can't can'teven go in the campaign trail. I
hope they did the same thing toBiden. That's what I'm hoking. Now,
the more they do this, thebigger he's getting. That's it.
(25:44):
Trump he's leading the Republican group bywhat four hundred and seventy points or something.
Now he's so it's it's ridiculous. The more they come after him,
the more powerful he seems to become. It's going to be interesting next year.
It's going to be interesting. JacWhat kind of news do you have
for us? We actually so fairlypotentially very significant news. Three stories here
that all deserve attention. First place, I'm going to start up with one.
(26:07):
The Second Amendment Foundation is the nowtaking lead not the NRA anymore and
filing lawsuits and support of our SecondAmendment rights, and now have announced that
they're launching a project, and theynamed the project basically Capture the Flag,
(26:27):
because it's reaching out against some ofthese red flag laws that have taken away
rights without anybody having a chance todefend themselves. I mean, you're guilty
and until innocent, which is youknow, that's basically a premise of our
constitution and it's not worded that way, but but you know, everybody knows
(26:52):
that. You know, the wholepremise is when you're charged with something,
you're innocent, told guilty or twentyone states have read flag laws, some
of them have been lenient in allowingpeople to file against you. And in
some cases a teacher can see akid in the fourth grade twinty his finger
being John Witt with another student, and they said, oh, his parents
must have gune. I'm gonna callin an extreme risk protection law at order.
(27:18):
That's what they call it, extremerisk protection order. Her post but
California, Florida, Florida kind ofsurprised me. But California, Florida,
Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and the state of Washington are the states
that the saf are focusing on intheir campaign. One of them, this
(27:38):
came up earlier this week. They'resuing in behalf of a Donald Wiley in
Maryland. And Donald Wiley's a sixtyfour year old former Marine Corps veteran,
I mean at twenty five years inthe Corps campaigns all over the place,
honorable guy. And he somehow thenhis little county, his zoning planning and
(28:02):
zoning director named Susan Webb, theevil Susan Webb, probably the misinformed.
Susan Webb didn't like the way hehad his property clean, didn't like some
of the things he had stored onhis property about or something but this is
going on, gets it. Overtwenty years she's been after him and these
are all niggling little things that theysaid. We're just absolutely they were below
(28:29):
having any kind of impact whatsoever. But this is a something cost she had
under her. But she just wentinto his property without announcement, which was
in defiance of a dissent agreement, and looked at stuff he had anyway,
So she couldn't do it that way, so she went and just for the
heck of it, filed an extremericks protection order. Convinced the judge that
(28:49):
this was the case. No threatswere made that was ever recorded or even
reported, but so judge told thesheriff, hey, here it is.
So they raided his house, tookhis gun and his ammunition away from him,
and then subjected him to an involuntaryThey put him in a hospital for
an involuntary mental evaluation and kept himthere. When it went to court,
(29:14):
the judges said this is ridiculous. He dismissed the case. But again,
this is after the pack. Youalready had him confiscating. He already was
forced into a to a hospital formental evaluation. And the bottom line is
what the suit is, and it'sthey're personally suing Webb, but THERASA suity
suing Anthony Brown, who's the AttorneyGeneral for Maryland, and the sheriff of
(29:37):
the Dorchester County who extually administrates, are being sued for their efficient capacities.
But Webb's being doubly suited personally forjust violating the laws. Had no reason
to do it. And this isthe This is the danger these red flag
laws. They prioritize citizen disarmament aheadof any kind of due process. He
didn't have his day in court, you're considered guilty. They come in and
(30:00):
do this, and this is thewhole premise of the red flag blow So
could this could have some ledgs,This could actually do take off, And
some of the states have done afairly good job by saying, look,
if you charge it, we needto review it, We need to interview
the people who are filing it.Why is this? Is there an angry
girlfriend who you broke up with her, and so she said, I'm going
(30:22):
to file this thing against him andthey're gonna take all of his wonderful guns.
But this is stuff that has beendone, so anyway, they're going
to start this campaign of capture theflag, So we want to see where
this comes up. Here's a bigone that's happening for New York, which
we all will know is anti gunand these are some significant change that are
definitely going to be taking effect inNew York. Are like a year ago
(30:44):
past this Safe Act. But whatthis is doing. Of course they pass
laws without realizing how are we goingto implement them. What's going to happen
New York is switching from a jurisddictionwhere from which the Federal Drew of Investigation
does the NIXT check, to onewhere the New York State Police is going
to be the point of contact forall firearms purchases. And they've included last
(31:11):
year ammunition background checks. So everytime you buy a firearm, we're used
to having knick checks, they're goingto have the they're gonna run it for
the federal government, but then thestate police is going to be doing its
own background checks before you can purchasea firearm. But also every time you
go to purchase amo a bunch oftwenty twos for the kids, well guess
(31:33):
what, every time you go in, you're going to have to have a
state police checks. NIX prevents anythingexcept firearms, and under the Nick law
you cannot use it to check anythingbut firearms. But under the state police
will be checking for in every ammunitionpurchased. Now, this is going to
go In fact, they send itout letters. The head of the State
Police sent letters out to all ofthe FFLs that hey, you have to
(31:59):
have state police background checks. It'sgoing to be implemented on the thirteenth of
September or if there's just a coupleof weeks away. Yet they don't know
how they're going to do it,but what they figured it is, guess
what, since we're doing it,we could charge you. So now the
Knicks checks are free, the statepolice checks, they're going to charge you
for the time it takes for theirstate police to conduct these. And they
(32:21):
have no idea what it's going tobe, but they're estimating an extra nine
dollars every time they do a checkfor rifles or partment firearms, but two
dollars and fifty cents every time yougo to buy EMO, which second it.
You may buy one a couple ofDons in your lifetime, but every
time you go to Buyamo, youhave to have a Knick checks. And
they're going to charge consumer. Theconsumer, you know they're going to charge
(32:45):
the consumer. That's a new tax. Yeah, they can't. Yeah,
this is a new tax. Anythingto do to constrain the purchases. So
this is really uh yeah, thisis really bad. They don't quite know,
but they set out the letter. It's going to take effect on September
thirteenth. Now California, I alreadyhave a tax on their ammunition. You
(33:08):
know, it's supposed to go tosafety, but it goes to the pockets
of the politicians. But so,what the fear is is that several of
these East Coast states and they're allkind of in cahusas each other. Hey,
what was that log in? SoI wouldn't be surprised if besides New
York, Connecticut, Maryland, NewJersey, Massachusetts, all those anti gun
(33:28):
states will try to pass some legislation. We can get money. All right,
you've got time for one more story. Yeah, actually only if you
have a good one done. Thisis a good one. This one could
have legs also, So all right. A Massachusetts catch ruled that a law
against carrying guns across state lines wasunconstitutional. Our person to carry a firearm
(33:55):
and public for self defense doesn't endat the state lines. In Massachusetts trials,
Fudge ruled. The judge was JusticeJohn Coffey. He dismissed a criminal
case against a New Hampshire man whowas charged with carrying a firearm without a
license in Massachusetts. He the judgefound that the state's requirements at non residents
(34:15):
obtain a temporary license to carry inMassachusetts violates the Second Amendment, and his
quotes are just, Hey, anyindividual only loses constitutional rights if he commits
in offense or has engaged in certainbehavior covered by the US eighteen blah blah
blah. The judge Coffee, Ilove this guy, wrote that the Commonwealth
(34:36):
of Massachusetts RICHUS Dean Donald that hedoesn't lose his right constitutional rights simply by
traveling into an adjoining state that mandatesdifferently than his state does. And he
goes on this is this is reallygreat because what this could do, as
they're saying, this could kind ofspark gun rights advocate push for the right
(35:00):
detruct women all fifty states with firearmsin public, So national reciprocity is what
they're hoping to probably come up withthis. And one of the good things
is is he invoked the Brewing decision. This decision, everyone side is going
to have legs. And what hesaid was that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts,
(35:21):
who prosecuted this, oh, bythe way of Dean O'Donnell, he was
because it was charged with this. The law she was charged under has a
mandatory minimum sentence of eighteen months inprisons. Mandatory minimal eighteen months in prison.
And the judge wrote that his conductwas clearly covered by the Second Amendment.
(35:42):
It was his state, and hesaid, the Commonwealth to know this
is where brewing comes in. Nohistorical president limiting ones exercise to a federal
constitutional right only within your state. So he said, hey, guess look,
court can think and this is whatit's court can think of. No
other constitutional right which a person losessimply by traveling beyond his home state's border.
(36:07):
Wowd approval, dimension of sighting,of sound, and of mind.
Massachusetts. Really yeah, Massachusetts, but hey, you have to go by
what the law says and the constitution. They went back. The other thing
that it hurt him was that Massachusettscan require other ones, but if you
have a Massachusetts license to carry,it's good for five years. If you're
(36:30):
out of state, it's only goodfor one year, and they said that
was also a disparity. But thebig, the big point of this was,
hey, when does your right tofree speech, you're right to all
the the amendments, where does thatstop at your home state line? So
this is something that could really comeupon us. Now. The Massachusetts government
(36:52):
didn't have a didn't say they're goingto appeal, but you know that they're
going to get their brain trust. They're going, Now what do we do?
Guys, we got bruin. We'reall doing differently, you know.
And the fact that we could travelanywhere at any state under the Second Amendment
would be marvelous. Right, thisis something we'll keep our eyes on.
(37:13):
Great, great, well, JC, good news for the most part.
Thanks for that. We're going tojump to a break and we come back.
We've got a couple other things tofinish up on, Chuck. I'm
sure you got something to say, maybe a little bit. All right,
we're on talking broadcasting live from theTrudeas of LPD Farms Range. I'll be
back right after the break. Sothis is what happens when I let Ella
(37:34):
pick the song. What's wrong? What is it? I don't know,
but to get down that get funky. I have no idea what that is.
All right, It adds a littlediversity to the show, puts a
little pep in the step. Yeah, that is that is true. Welcome
back to talking. I'm your host. Eric joined today in the LPD two.
(37:54):
They got little Chuck here. Ithink I still have JC on the
live line. You there, Jcredo you have to drop off here?
I am here. Okay, we'resound great, by the way, I
think we look good too. Iknow that you're such a sad, sad
little man, Chuck. One thingwe didn't do today was the Chicago did
(38:15):
I don't know if it's even We'retalking about the same crap as last week.
Same as usual. Yeah, sameas usual. We can skip that.
We're talking off fair though about thisthis bus crash, bush crash.
I am asking anybody with ears whowas listening right now to be vigilant and
and ask for answers, and demandanswers, and ask questions and send emails
because there's just too much missing informationwhere we were all sad and shocked at
(38:37):
a child losing their life in thatschool bus crash, and yet I have
not personally and I've tried to followthis closely, have not personally heard of
what direct evidence there is that thisman who was in custody is responsible he
went left of center. This isjust an assumption until I see some proof.
(38:57):
I believe he probably did. Butstill it just doesn't make sense that
he's he's been put behind bars onsomething that we don't even know about,
in an incident that is this extremeto the people of Ohio. Secondly,
two different names, but first andlast and last and first, we don't
even know who he is. ExpiredMexican driver's license, Mexico has one driver's
(39:20):
license. I just I find thatreally odd the way that's being reported.
He's not from Mexico, I forgetthe country he's from, and his immigration
status is in question, which means, of course he's here illegally, but
nobody wants to say it out loudthere. And on top of everything else,
a child died in this incident, and he's looking at six to twelve
months if convicted, and as Ericsaidon is opening monologue, thirty Round magazine
(39:44):
gets six months, six to twelvemonths, and a child is dead.
I just there's too many questions andtoo many things not being said that should
be said. Check. We're notserious about this stuff until until the things
bubble up like that. I can'ttell you how many people I have stopped
over the year that we're here illegally. They have no driver's license at all.
Of course, and here's an interestinglittle fact to it. But they'll
(40:07):
hand you a valid insurance card andyou say, well, how does that?
How are they how are they ableto get insurance when they don't have
a driver's license and they're not evenhere legally. Well, these insurance companies,
and I've called and talked to theagents. Their attitude is, hey,
look they're paying us. They're payingus. And what these people don't
realize is the fine print will saysomething like, you know, we cover
(40:29):
you, and the fine print isas long as you have a valid driver's
license. Yah. Yeah. Sosomething happens and the insurance companies like,
we're out of here. You didn'thave a valid license, but they surely
collected that payment each month. Youknow, it's just crazy. We don't
do anything about it all these othertimes. If we started acting on this
and putting some teeth in it,those insurance companies will report you if you
(40:50):
allow your policy to expire. They'lllet the DMV know that your your insurance.
Why are they not required to dothat? There's no ask, don't
tell. Why there's no culpability bythe insurance companies. Why are the people
who are manufacturing and distributing the blocks, which is not the target, instead
of going after the little punk kidsat the football game. Anybody who's making
those things selling them. If yourcountry will not because you know they're not
(41:14):
here. If your country won't cooperate, then they are suborting perjury or terrorism
in the United States, just likeyou would perjury in a courtroom, and
in the United States. Should goat Mexico. Are they there? Guess
what? You don't stop these peoplefrom making them and sending them up here.
No more foreign aid to you. We're sick of you and your heroine
and your coke and your pot andwhatever else crap you're sitting to this country.
(41:37):
Governments won't cooperate. Cut their buttsoff. We can use that money
here for something else, like moredonuts for Papa. That's right, you
know, but this administration will neverdo it. We'll have to, you
know, they won't. They won'tget serious. They won't get serious on
pop rights to checks. And thething is, the thing is is that
and they continue to come down,Like we said in the monologue on the
(41:59):
lall by citizens. And I knowI mentioned this last week, and I
don't want to beat a dead horse, but it really has been impactful to
us. But I told you welost our insurance at the store for the
fourth time in the ten years we'vebeen here. We've never had a claim
on this liability insurance, but fourtimes now we've lost it. And the
number one reason we're losing it thistime is because these states are allowing follow
(42:22):
this logic, Chuck, I sella gun to somebody, I do the
background check, they are legally ableto purchase that gun. That day they
walk out the door, that gungets stolen from said person used in the
crime. And let's say they murdersomeone, the family of that murder victim
can sue the gun stored all andsome of these states that has caused the
(42:44):
insurance companies to back away. Sonow we've lost our insurance again. And
we finally we found a policy tothe tune of almost twenty thousand a year
to cover us for liability on somethingwe've never had acclaim on. Or anything.
Here's what you do if that everhappens to you, is you immediately
(43:04):
call the attorney and file the countersuitagainst the federal government that allowed them to
pass a background check and against theindividual who was stupid enough to get their
weapons stolen so that they could beused that way. Start spreading the wealth.
When it comes to them and Johnhits the nail on the head,
it's a death by a thousand cuts. You know, to put the money
up front. You might win it, but it might cost you one hundred
(43:25):
thousand. Maybe Legal Shield or USCCAor somebody like that can come up with
some insurance protection for the stores, you know, but it's it's never ending.
You look at the credit card issueswe've had, you look at at
this now with the insurance side ofthings. It is a constant assault on
the stores. I don't know howa smaller store could could handle this.
(43:47):
I mean we're struggling with it,let alone someone who hasn't been around for
ten years. You guys may needto form some coalitions too. Seriously,
multiple stores under one FFL license,it's just like one entity and multiple locations.
We have to get we have tothink outside the box. On this
guys. Thanks for spending the lasthour with us. It goes by Sodan
(44:07):
quick. Thanks for everyone here.I didn't even give a shout out to
all the people here at the livestudent table here. Yeah, there you
go. Thanks. Thanks. Checknext week, we're going to continue to
keep the Updated'm not sure exactly whatthe topic yet, but I'm sure it
will be relevant as always in thiscrazy city. Be careful out there,
