Speaker 1 (00:00):
We have Alex Stone, ABC News joining us right now.
Alex Yeah, rare rare, all right, yeah yeah yeah yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Oh oh man, you people scare me. Put peanut butter
on something and call it a show.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
That's it. Childhood toys that can now be worth thousands
Alex Teddy Ruman Teddy. Oh, that is one. It's not
on this list, but that is one. I believe if
you had one that was in pretty.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
Good shape, Cabbage Patch dolls.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
Probably they're talking about on here that the insurers at
Home Protect have been scouring sites like you know, eBay
and so on find out the classic toys from the eighties, nineties,
two thousands are bringing in the highest amount of cash
these days. The top five spots to Lego sets, well,
(01:05):
I don't it's got to be specific too, because there's
like a million different types of Lego sets, right.
Speaker 4 (01:11):
It's got to be specific ones that people are willing
to pay a lot for.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
So the most valuable, according to this is the Star
Wars Cloud City set. So if you are in possession of,
if you're listening and you're in possession of one of those,
you could be very wealthy.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
Is that one from like nineteen eighty five or is
that a more recent one?
Speaker 1 (01:32):
It doesn't give the date.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
Well, we're talking about a childhood centers, so yeah, it
had to be a while ago, not one of the
new ones.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
Correct, right, Yeah, the newer ones. Have you ever been
to I'm sure you guys have probably big Lego cities
or Lego Lego stores. Yeah stores, Yeah, I know there's
a I think they have one in Vegas. I want
to say, yeah, I think they do. Then on top
of the Star Wars Cloud City set, there's Death Star.
(01:59):
Death Star are two and Millennium Falcon sets for the
most valuable Lego sets right now, there's one called Skull's
Eye Schooner Pirate Ship. It's big drawl to collectors for what.
They don't specify why, it's just it's a big drawl
for them. My Little Pony and Barbie are some of
(02:23):
the other high profile toys that are on this list
as well.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
Have to go into My Little My Little Pony. The
supply of those that I've got, and I'm just kidding
out of luck on that one.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
I let a pony.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Somehow, I don't doubt he has these.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
True or false?
Speaker 3 (02:45):
You do have them, Alex blink once if.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Right, it's hilarious. Yeah, so I don't as far as
those toys go, there are some you do think, man,
if they were in the package still they are in
really good shape. There are some that will fetch you know,
decent amount not like retirement type money, but what.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
A good amount of money. Now, that stuff never works
for me.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
I went through my old baseball cards and scanned you know,
now there's apps you can scan and they'll tell you
what they're worth, and everything was like ten cents, five cents,
So oh, come on, we all these has got to
be where it goes like ten thousand dollars.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Do you really think they would tell you if it
was worth a lot? They would tell you ten cents,
and then you'd be like oh, and then they would
contact you go yeah, we'd like to buy that one
for ten probably for ten cents, and you'd go, well,
I'm not selling it for ten, so I'll take a
quarter if you've got that, and then they go, okay, yeah,
we'll do it. And then the other thing that comes
to mind when you're scanning them on those apps, if
you do come across something you have, that's man, they're
(03:45):
coming to your house. Maybe they're going to break in
man and steel those uh you know.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
Anyway, I'm like, all of these jose Canseco cards has
got to be worth something that they.
Speaker 5 (03:56):
Weren't worth it.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
They weren't worth the paper they're printed on, the stock
they're printed. Yeah, these drone sightings, Alex, this thing has
grown and grown and grown. And I know, just literally
from a couple of days ago, I saw some of
the questioning happening on the hill and they were talking
to I think it was somebody with the Pentagon or
I'm not even sure, maybe my Orcis's office. I'm not
(04:19):
sure who I was watching, but they're just they're all going, no,
we don't know anything. And it's a head scratcher, to
say the least. And it's this thing seems like it's growing,
and this story is growing every day that goes by
now and more and more people are going, Hey, what
the hell is happening here? And why are you guys
(04:40):
acting so cryptic or saying they'll don't be alarmed about anything.
Speaker 4 (04:44):
Yeah, and yeah, there are a lot more sightings of it.
It's what social media is all about at nighttime right now,
everybody reporting in drones and I should say there are
a lot of videos that have gotten very big online
and have been shown on TV news that once you
zoom in on them and then match them to flight radar,
a lot of them are not drones that In one case,
we found one that has been everywhere and it's a
(05:07):
United Boeing seven eighty seven coming into Newark. Now there's
a seven fifty seven. There was a British Airways large jet.
Another one is a police helicopter. Last night there were
people saying, look at all these drones in the sky,
and then when they pulled out, they were at the
end of a runway at LaGuardia Airport and it was all.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
The planes coming in.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
So, I mean, it's very easy on social media to
be like, look at this light in the sky, and
a lot of this is that. So it's hard to
tell how much of it is really happening everywhere versus
what's going on in New Jersey and how much of
that is is really these unidentified things. But there is
something going on here and not an explanation for all
(05:44):
of them. This guy has been seeing the six foot
wide drones and says, I've.
Speaker 6 (05:48):
Never seen anything like it. It's just a.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
Drone on steroids.
Speaker 4 (05:53):
And police and Maryland's governor went out last night they
saw them, as did sendor Andy Kim, and he told
us are.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Counting oftentimes five, six 's, seven or more at any
given time.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
But I know it's something that's alarming a lot of people.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
But the Biden administration is saying, and I don't worry
about it. The most aren't drones, and even if they are,
there's no public safety threat and there's no sign there
from a foreign country. Scott Kirby the White House, he
was the one who came out this week and yeah,
said don't worry about it.
Speaker 5 (06:20):
Upon review of available imagery, it appears that many of
the reported sightings are actually manned aircraft that are being
operated lawfully.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
And many may be, but not all of them, it seems.
Speaker 4 (06:30):
And in New Jersey that's not sitting well, where leaders
like this guy is saying, look that the Feds aren't
taking this seriously.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
They want to know what these are flying over it is.
It is saying that we had after nine to eleven.
If you see say, if you see something, say something.
Speaker 6 (06:44):
I think that's become If you see something, don't worry
about it.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
And there are some lawmakers who are saying shoot them down. There's,
you know, no indication of what these things necessarily.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
Are other than that they look like drones.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
And then today something that is maybe related, maybe not,
But we got audio from last Saturday night over or
again when Alaska Airlines pilots Horizon Air but that's the
regional carrier for Alaska, when they reported seeing unidentified lights
darting around out toward the ocean and then would come
zipping back at them and would disappear for a while,
but there was nothing on radar when they radioed in.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
This is said the audio from Live atc something flying.
Speaker 5 (07:20):
It's not in satellite because they're.
Speaker 4 (07:23):
Changing direction and it apparently is getting close enough to
set off their cockpit alarms at least pop up on
their system for collision avoidance. And then there was another
pilot who said that they saw would look like a
red circle shaped object and it got filed with the
FAA as an unidentified aerial phenomena, but what it was
nobody has any ideas. So there's a lot of reports
(07:43):
coming in, whether it be from the East coast in
everybody seeing what they say, or drones, or the West
coast where airline pilots are seeing some weird things.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
In the sky, and nobody knows what any of this
stuff is.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
I feel like just a normal size drone, like one
you could get like an Amazon variety, you know, something
along that line. I mean, we know bird strikes can
take down aircraft, and you know, something even just a
normal sized drone going you know, explode and we know
it would never survive hitting it, but it could conceivably.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
You suck that into an A have a major problem.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
Yeah, I mean, I just the way that they're this flippant.
It feels kind of almost dismissive about a lot of
these and the fact that they're you know, last count
I what over fifty sightings and now it's probably hundreds,
if not more.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
Oh yeah, no, it's been probably even thousands of and
again a lot of them probably aren't really drones, but
of the reports coming in officially and unofficially and on
social media, so it's kind of turned into this you
know fervor now. In fact, we got an intelligence bulletin
today from the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety with
all kinds of things about any firefighters who get called
(08:54):
out if one crashes do not approach it. To treat
it as a crime I'm seen, or something that they
should not approach, saying put out the fire immediately, but
then request a bomb squad and get away from it.
You know, it seems like in many ways that until
we figure out what these things are, that there's a
lot of fear about it right now, and maybe unfounded
fear because we don't know what they are, or maybe
(09:14):
in the end it will be that that this is
all warranted. But there's just a there's a lot of
hoopla over it right now.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
Stand by Chuck has it all figured out? I I
just looked up at this out He's smiling like, yeah,
you guys are idiots.
Speaker 6 (09:27):
I am thoroughly amused.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
First of all, the Pentagon got involved today to let
us know that there were no ships off of our shore,
no hostile forces, and how do they we don't.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
Know what it is.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
We're safe then since we.
Speaker 6 (09:39):
Tell you what it is, but we know that it's
nothing and by the way, if it crashes, get the
hell out.
Speaker 4 (09:47):
There is a report the other day of a mother
ship too that we're going back to and everyone's like, well,
I haven't seen that one on video yet, but that'll
be News.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
If you find that out, you seriously need to import
some Ohio rednecks to New Jersey because those things will.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
Be down down.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
Yeah, if you can shoot it down and look at
it and go, oh, this came from Best Buy, and
then we're good.
Speaker 7 (10:07):
Hi, I'm gonna need my ar and a beer. I'm
going to New Jersey. Get me loaded up. Let's go,
let's get the boys, let's go. Alex Stone ABC News.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
Out of Los Angeles. You guys don't have them out
there over California.
Speaker 6 (10:21):
Do no?
Speaker 4 (10:22):
Barely ore again, we've got you know, the UFOs flying
around the airline pilots are seeing just up north, but no,
not down here.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
All right, Alex, have a great weekend. Thanks brother, you too.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
Let it guys see you man.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
Yeah, I'm gonna grab Mike real quick, just because we're
on the drugs that.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
You ask Mike before you just take a liberty like that.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
Hey, Mike, I'm grabbing you man. Welcome to the show,
and we got about thirty forty seconds. But what do
you got for us? Brother?
Speaker 5 (10:47):
That's about all I need?
Speaker 6 (10:48):
Brothers?
Speaker 2 (10:49):
All right?
Speaker 5 (10:49):
Hey, uh, if you notice these things are pretty much
on the East and West coast and where all of
our liberal friends live, and of course nobody wants any
guns there. I dare them to fly one of these
over West Virginia or someplace we got we got, we
got some old boys there with some shotguns and some rifles,
(11:10):
and those things will be on the ground and about
a blink of an eye.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
That's exactly what Jack was saying, Mike, thanks, brother, Yeah,
that's exactly what you uf.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
O meet five five six.
Speaker 6 (11:22):
That's what I've got for you right there.
Speaker 5 (11:25):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (11:26):
But when it goes down, stay away from it. Back up,
call a bomb squad.
Speaker 6 (11:30):
Don't be worried, but run if it crashes. That how
that is true government logic right there.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
Oh boy,
