Speaker 2 (00:13):
Us as well.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
Fantastic, so you are you're joining us today, which it's
been a while since you've been in.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
A long time to miss you, guys, it's.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Been I mean, we miss you too. I'm glad that
you decided to come in today. He comes in, uh
with a with a Manila folder and he goes, I
got notes today and I got talking, and I go.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
I will say, I don't know that I've ever seen
you do that.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
Yeah, but are these notes on the Blazer Show or these.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Even stuff for you? Now stays for you and Bob
can go crazy some of the stuff that's exciting. That's
a tease right there. I mean, there's just uh, there's
just a lot of stuff.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
But Troy, you're gonna stay with us all day, A man,
this is a treat that you are gonna sit with
us all day.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
It's great.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
We've never I don't think we're officially met.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
I can't see you on.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
TV and I've obviously we've talked on the show.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
I think via just on the show. I think at the.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
Memorial, you down there with us over, but you weren't
actually with us.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
So this is that the year you brought Jim Nance
over station was not there that that's when d was
still with us. Okay, I brought your nance over and
these guys there.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
He goes stop, Oh my god.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
He comes up and Josh and I are losing our
minds because he walks up with Jim Nance and we're
like we look up and I'm like, he's.

Speaker 5 (01:40):
Like, oh, I was just having lunch with Jim Nanson,
Jack Nicholas.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Dropping names, name drop. Now, man, he went big time
on us. Lindell was at that lunch. He was not
at that.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
President Trump was there. Oh wait, no, he wasn't there.
Those are the only two eyes I think that weren't
there at that point. But anyway, so it was it
was crazy to have all of that happen when you
know he was at When he comes up at the
memorial to hang with us, that's like the only year
that I think that I've seen you out there, and
I know you're pretty much there every year, but you've.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Got didn't go. Oh you didn't go. I did not
go this year.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Remember I hit you up and go, hey, man, if
you're out, come come over and hang with us.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
But we never saw you. But I think you probably
got scared. Josh.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
My guess is Troy got scared off because he saw
the post that I had of what were we drinking?
It was like it was this year. It was they
were they were pre made old fashions, remember that, And
it was like in a and I can't remember what
what bourbon it was or what whiskey was in it.

Speaker 5 (02:48):
I remember, Yeah, because you you brought them.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
I mean, I mean you you found them and.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
Uh huh, just not listening.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Yeah, he's the only one. If you were, you know,
you can't do that. I'd like, okay, we won't do
that ever again. I've ronis mister Nicholas, no way. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
I thought maybe you saw that and you were like, no,
I can't go over there those guys.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
Oh no, I wouldn't.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
We're over there. No, no worries.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
I'm just glad stacious, I mean truly. I mean Melanie
and I watch her and Bob every night that even
when I'm not when I'm in DC.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
We do too. Stacia.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
She comes from the military background. Yeah, my significant. Melanie's
son serves in the Navy, so she even likes you
that much more.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
Your veteran stories.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Oh yeah, with what you do with the veterans.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Oh that's so kind, thank you. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
And exciting news, which he'll be joining us a little while.
But Marshall, I mean.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
Emmy for Best Meteorologist.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
That is so nice.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Yeah, gosh, it's really so exciting. And just for the record,
that's not his first time winning that particular award, but
it's the newest one and and it appeared yesterday. They
brought it down, so he technically won a couple of
weekends ago, but they brought the trophy arrived yesterday, so
we got to.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Cheer him on, which was extra special.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
It's all about the riddle he does in the middle
of the weather reports.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
Go to the weather report, I got to go to sleep.
It's the dead joke.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
We'reen doing that for four years on the show. It
started during COVID because he.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Was the first person.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Sent home, and as a way to try and just
make sure he knew we were thinking about him and
that we that I was thinking, I would just send
him a little goofy joke. And then he started using
them in the show, and then people started sending them
in and it's become this whole thing all on its.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Own, which is so fun.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
So the people sending those in, and I noticed he
never solicits and goes, you know, if you want to
send me No, no, no, he doesn't have to. They'll
probably start them in.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
They email them in, but people will send them in.
There's one person who I believe sends them in an
individual joke, and four of them will arrive from the
same person. So it's like one stamp per joke. Is
kind of how they writ consider it, which is it's
just so nice the way people are so dialed into it.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
We get all you know what we get.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
So we'll have stuff mailed to us and then usually
it's some sort of a letter with it or what
have you.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
I mean, how often do you get that?

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Right?

Speaker 2 (05:24):
I mean, as a.

Speaker 5 (05:25):
Matter of fact, don't we have something for I'll be
right back, Yes, we have something for you.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Okay, stay show now.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
I'm a little afraid it came.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
In the mail. This laser is running.

Speaker 5 (05:35):
He is running.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
You whipped off his headphones and is running because he's.

Speaker 5 (05:40):
Excited because you, me and Blazer, we all got the
same thing from this amazing listener. His favorite segment is
some station on Thursdays and he's a he's a master
wooden carver and craftsman.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
Get out of here.

Speaker 5 (05:56):
And he made you something that is so beautiful that
like it's out right here. Okay, okay, that was quite
the that was a dramatic was sorry, I scared of anybody?

Speaker 1 (06:10):
Sorry and run on the studio sudden movement. She's like,
oh man, that look at taco. Bell's really hit him.

Speaker 5 (06:18):
Look at it on.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
There. He goes, oh god, someone hand me the lysol geem.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
And so it's a letter that was sent from he
is uh Shell and Pat Sink.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
It said SNEC or scenic.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
Anyway, this is an interesting it's an interesting thing with them.
They had sent a h a unique D clock for
Demetrious and this was they said this in this guy
he crafted this and put it together.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
So I gave it to.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
Yeah, I gave it to D's wife and I said,
you know this, he's a listener of ours and he
wanted you and she was just like wow, I mean
she was so cool. Yeah, yeah, really really cool. So
after thirty four years, this guy retired from the Ohio
State Highway Patrol, the number two person in charge of
the patrol in the state of Ohio. Then he goes

(07:18):
on to say, I've interacted with a lot of radio
TV stations over the years. After retirement, I became the
Ohio Director of Ohio Operations Lifesaver, a nonprofit international organization
dedicated saving lives at railroad crossings and along railways. So
all over Ohio I interacted with radio TV stations. After

(07:39):
twelve years, I'm fully retired. For over fifty I've been
a hobbyist woodworker, not a lobbying hobby.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Wow, I've built cedar chess.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
I've built cedar chess, entertainment centers, desks, coffee tables, to
end tables, clocks, lamps, silverware box and jewelry boxes wide.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
That's incredible.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
So he talks about how he made something unique for
Josh and I and then also you, and he did say.
He goes you and Josh making an exceptional program. Your
prime or your premiere time is on Thursdays when station
is invited into the show and you guys do stump
station and all that. So he talks about how he
really loves all of this stuff. That's all right in

(08:22):
this and so he set these very unique trivits.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
And this trivit he made.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
Josh and I each have one, and so there is yours.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
This is amazing.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
It's a it's a flag in the middle, a United
States flag, an American flag and uh. And then it's
just a trivit that you could you could technically decorate
with that or you know, do whatever or use it
for you know, you sit a hot pan on it
or pt or whatever. Yes, but he goes, I built
each of you an unusual trivit. I built many over

(08:57):
the years. The design is different. Trivits are used to
play hot pots and pans instead of the typical cloth
hot pots, and when not in use, can be a
table decoration. Little background. I found a set of American
flag ceramic squares. I envisioned making a few trivits with
the flag embedded each. A ceramic American flag is embedded
slightly below the black gray ceramic surrounding it. Even though

(09:21):
ceramic can will stand high temperatures, the lower flag embedding
reduces any risk of discoloring the cool thought he sunk
it down. He receded it a little bit, and so
it's not setting up even with the edge of it.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
So I just thought that was really amazing.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
And then on the back we've got got it signed
and dated for.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
This year with a little he made that himself. That's
so great.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
Yeah, Josh and I each have one to thank you
so much that this is a treasure. So I'm so honored,
and I.

Speaker 5 (09:54):
Just it painted in my head that like we had
something for you and I forgot until you just now did.
But but the point is, stuff like that happens to
us unsolicited. There's been many other things, food items, you.
I mean, the list goes on. I had a guy
send me a bigfoot shirt because he knows I'm all

(10:16):
about bigfoot.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
What she knows about this she gets. I'm sure she
gets goodies all the time, just so does Troy. Some
of his are ticking, probably but.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
Just kidding.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
He gets a wider variety of oh yeah, it probably show.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
It was very nice of them to mail me some
gold botton powder in the mail. Well, I can't tell
what this is. Let me smell. I don't know, it's weird.
I can't detect. You smell it. Don't do that, it's
just kidding. Uh yeah, So.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
And I maintain I'm told Josh, we have the best listeners.
We have the smartest listeners that listen to radio. I'm
telling you they Unfortunately for us, they constantly are fact
checking us, like we we might say something in that
I'll get a DM oh, you know, but that's actually
part of the charm.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
I'll just I'll say it. Some days it doesn't feel
like that, but we're looking at it. From the thirty.

Speaker 5 (11:09):
Thousand, there's no more Frish's Big Boys around here. Forty
two phone calls later, No, I I.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
Know there are stuff like that, don't know. I met Melanie's.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
One of her favorite artist is Chris Stapleton. So for
her Mother's Day, I had bought tickets for her to
go to that. So I go, we do our ticket
to the Apple thing and I do it and it
wasn't working right, and I said, well, I don't know
if I have this upside down. He said, you're on
the radio with Mark Blazer and Josh because I know
your voice. And I said, what, you're Troy Balderson. I said,

(11:40):
I am Toy Balderson and you knew that from my voice.
He said, I never missed Blazer and Josh.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Well, and that was where at.

Speaker 4 (11:48):
Chris Tapleton concerts two three weeks ago.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
Oh okay, somebody where you were purchasing the ticket?

Speaker 4 (11:54):
No, I was going and how you scan your phone
on top of the.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
Wallet thing recognize from that it really go through.

Speaker 4 (12:01):
And I said, well, I don't know what's wrong with
this thing. It's on And he said, you're on, Josh,
You're on with Blazer and Josh you're Troy ball Er.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
So I said, my god, yes, I know that voice.
That's incredible.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
I have to say I get that comment everywhere I go,
whether I'm in an official ABC six capacity like at
the State Fair last week, or if I'm just at
the grocery store, people will walk by and they go
Stone Stationia and it's awesome.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
I think it's so cool. It is cool, it never
gets old, and this is so so special. S W
thank you so much. This is this is a treasure
for sure. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
I just think these I know, and like I said,
you guys would have like a dummy. I didn't take
a picture of the clock he made for d but
it was really neat, I mean super super neat. So yeah,
it's just very cool. We have the coolest uh, we
have the coolest people. I tell you all the time.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
Listen you do.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
Yeah, so I appreciate you know, all of that stuff.
There's there's no question about that. Okay, And now we
are at the point where, well, what we'll do is
start budgeting to make sure we have enough time for
stump station.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
We don't have to like rush through it.

Speaker 3 (13:10):
What are you going to read a headline for me today, Congressman?

Speaker 2 (13:12):
I don't yes, oh yeah, I guess, I am.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
I'm glad you said that because I was thinking of
it earlier.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
I go, oh good, of course myself and Josh always.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
It makes sense, totally makes sense, right, and we always
have three headlines. So today you'll get to be the
honorary reader.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Let's do it. I'm honored of a headline.

Speaker 5 (13:31):
But we've got to have some time to make sure
we properly kiss Marshall's butt for his emmy.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
Yes, yes, we have to do all of that.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
So we'll budget in the time and more with Stacia
and of course Congressman Troy Balderson and all the fun
here in the studio.
