it was what a fun time it was in Las
Vegas last week. It is surreal. I was. I felt like,
that's the longest I ever been in Las Vegas. I
got there on Friday night and left the following Saturday,
so I was there that long. It was easily. It

felt like as I'm listening, you know, I'm like thinking
about it this morning, I get up yesterday, I'm kind
of thinking about it, and I'm like, it literally felt
like I was there. It felt like three different trips
actually happened because I was there so long. But man,
what a what a fun time it was. I mean,
you know, the thing and what was interesting is is

I got to dodge the crazy heat there only to
be at that heat there, which quite frankly is a
little bit better because it wasn't as humid. Because as
soon as I got off the plane on Saturday, which
was right after the Buckeyes finished up, basically I get
off the plane and I'm walking to the car and
I'm like, man, yeah, the humidity. It just felt so

humid here and then uh, just in time for the
cooler weather at this point, but it looks like we
are going to heat up again soon as well. So
did you find some not outdated creamer by the way,
So yeah, the French vanilla coffee, mate, that was hilarious
just now by the way our office, the box of

it that we I keep in there.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
Oh, I just finally happened to look at the side
because you know, Mark made me a cup of coffee.
This well, he's got a fancy little machine keeps in
our den and he goes, you like the flavor? I go, yeah,
I'll throw one of those coffee, mate, French vanilla guys.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
I look at the box.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Those things expired in October of twenty twenty.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Used to add worm mask when they were good. Oh
my gosh. That was right in the middle of the
throes of COVID. We're having it right there. We want
to get a French vanilla coffee. Mate, You got a worm, mate?
I mean, oh, just cut a lot. Remember people used
to cut a hole for the straw, like in their mask.
Do you remember what I just real quick?

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Do you remember when people used to like they kids
still had to wear a mask, but they had to
cut holes out to play their instruments, and like.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Oh my gosh, oh god, I do. I can't even
believe people were doing that. That's saying.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
It just shows you because it's the elites.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
It was. It was seen who was going to be
a sheep and who was going to not be a sheep?

Speaker 2 (02:29):
And obviously bastards like me refuse and I put my
middle finger up, and I'm very glad I did.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
I like Viva Love Resistance, But lady Ladies of the
Night were even doing that, putting the hole in the
mid just they needed to be very safe, you know,
I mean that's very safe. Well, I mean you'd have
to have a bunch of different sizes, I would assume,
and I I mean, you could probably get to a
point where it's like the mask kind of just disappears
depending on what you're doing and who you're doing it to. Yeah,

we're gonna need a different mask. We're gonna need a
bigger mask. If I could quote y'all, let me turn
tricks on Livingston. You gotta wear masks anyway. Yeah. So
I couldn't believe when you said, dude, that expired on
the twenty in twenty twenty, I was like, what, you've
drank that since then? You've had that since then. I

(03:25):
know I have. It didn't get you, it didn't get me.
But I'm not gonna teen fate right now. No, because
I go, dude, just use one of them. You're like,
I'm not trick. Did you get a different one or well.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
I went into the supplying closet and these expire September
of twenty twenty four.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
So I think I'm still good because well, you're good
for four more years. According to the way, four more
weeks is more likely at least. Yeah, did you put
some in there? Or if they did, I just had
a little sp What do you think? I mean, what
do you think coffee? It's good? I like it. That
is it is an espresso machine that I have. And
then you are having the uh it's blonde roast Starbucks.

That's blonde roast Starbucks, blonde us whatever. It is very tasty.
Is it good? Okay?

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Yeah, I'm pretty well rested for Well. I think it's
because it's not Monday. It's Tuesday. Like we're already basically
halfway through the week, right Well, most I'm just gonna
I'm just gonna go ahead and already consider it Wednesday.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
It seems like a million years since the Buckeyes played,
but it was just a couple of days at least
to me, it does at this point, and I know
everybody is talked up, but we haven't been on the
air yet. So the fact that they got a slow
start they didn't cover I was like, yeah, that's about right,
the same old hohum. However, I did not get to
watch the game. I did see a couple of highlights.

(04:48):
I'm sure you watched the game, okay, yea, so give
me your take on it. Clearly, they started slow, and
if you looked on social media, it was like, oh,
here we go, another funerals already started. I was following
a lot. I tried to get it. I was literally
in the air flying and I got Wi Fi. I
was trying to find it and be able to watch it,
and all that was unsuccessful while I was in the air.

(05:10):
So I did follow along with just scores, and I
was like wow. At halftime, I couldn't believe the Buckeyes
were still dragon. And then clearly they something sparked and
something happened, you know, it felt like and it came.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Out so sloppy and undisciplined. It was embarrassing. I think
they had their first four plays penalties, including one that
was a personal foul late hit that they could have
ruled targeting, but they overturned it.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
Oh we've I mean it just it was it was like,
oh my god, what is this the defense? That's that defense.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Is going to be the most elite in the country.
It's the offense I'm worried about. It's specifically the offensive
line failed to get a really good push. It's funny
when when it was we had more excess running on
first down and second down then we did on the
like third and short, fourth and shorts. It's concerning to

me we couldn't get a push.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Not against the Zips. We should not have had that trouble.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Sorry, now they do have a good interior whatever, but
but still this is Ohigher state. They're achron Yes, so
I'm concerned about that. I'm think God Will Howard has
legs because I have a feeling that he's gonna be
when we play some really good defenses, really good teams.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
He is a large human. He is a big boy.
He's six seven six five six five okay, and uh,
you know, at one.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Point we ran the Philadelphia Eagles, but tush push play
to get a first down on like a fourth down.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
Right, That was cool? And basically Will Howard being six
to five, he just has to fall over. Yep. It's
gonna take not just one linebacker to stop him, but
probably a couple as we go down the road. Here,
Jeremiah Smith is everything and more that the hype man.
That's great to hear he is.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
I told my wife, I go, this is a great
omen for him this season in his career at Ohigh State.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
His very first pass.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
Just this cute little five six yard out crossing pattern
over the middle, comes across, hits some square in the hands,
and he drops it because he he he.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Knew he had open field ahead of him. Jitters, I said,
that's the best thing that could have happened to him.
I go, the worst OMEN.

Would be like his very first catch is a seventy
yard bomb, and sure enough he played balled out from there.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
Jeremiah Smith's a bad dude. Well that's an interesting call
with regard to that, And tell me what you're thinking,
because I feel like it would be gives a bat.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
Basically, here, here's a guy who's the number one player
in all of recruiting this year, coming in pure freshman,
genuine freshmen, and he drops the easiest pass he'll see
all year.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
I go, that's good. Get that out of the way now. Well,
and so that, I mean a lot of people could
go either way with that. They could go, well, no,
because then that sets him up for going, Oh my god,
I get catch the easy ones.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
Yeah, well he proved, he proved he can catch. I mean,
what a game by him and Buka look good. Both
the running backs look good, but they look good not
running up the middle. They look good kind of swinging
from the outside and cutting up.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Yeah, it's going to be interesting. We got some offensive line.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Hopefully these kids, the more experience they get, the more
game time playing together, they're more little jail. But I
would say the biggest weakness for Ohio State this year
will be the offensive line.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
Well, seven thirty on Saturday, Western Michigan comes to the Shoe.
Western Michigan. The Buckey's a thirty eight and a half
point favorite. Right now, bet do not bet them to cover.
They never cover under Ryan Day. Ever, it is bizarre,
isn't it? Because I was thinking that same thing. We
I finally saw the final and I was like, when
they kicked that field goal towards the owen acron kicked

another field goal, I go, you gotta be kidding me. Man.
I was like, wow, they're not going to cover that.
Fifty one to three would have still not covered, you know, no,
just barely missing that. But yeah, the fact that they
tagged on another one, Yeah, they didn't score a touchdown,
that's good. Kind of do your point with our defense,
you know, doing doing the things that they're doing. But yep,

Saturday night, the Buckeyes will fire it up again and
in the Shoe seven thirty game on the Big ten network. However,
if if.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
You have comcasts, there's an issue there. The Big ten
networks pulled their has been pulled off a Comcast. They
pulled it because they didn't like where they were being.
They didn't like the tier they were in. They felt
like they deserved more money, but they put them in
the lower tier.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Comcast did so. So Big ten said, well, we're taking
our ball and going home. Is that what you're apparently?

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Yeah, they said, well right, we're gonna pull where having
a dispute, we're pulling it. I tell you, there was
a lot of bitching and moaning and grinding of teeth
over the weekend about the dispute with Direct TV and ESPN,
because I mean, there were so many people that were

(10:18):
mad that they missed the games.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
Yeah, I have Direct TV and the there is a
I mean, it's just like here we go again. When
you saw this kind of fire up, you thought, Okay,
maybe they'll get it worked out. What is the deal?
What you know? I want to say, how about you
surprise us and you get it worked out. Surprise us,
Surprise us. Don't give us the obvious, which is well,

(10:42):
we're going to drag this out, and the people who
lose are the people who are the subscribers. You know what.
Direct TV is already hemorrhaging to the tune of about
eleven million subscribers since twenty I believe it's twenty nineteen. Now.
It could be off on that, but I was reading
this the other day and they're already hemorrhaging a lot
of people. They cannot afford for this to happen. I

called yesterday because I was busting their chops about my
package and I realized what I just said there. But
I was complaining to them about what they're charging, and
it went back up. I had a really good rate
the whole year, and then that promotional rate dropped off
and I got the full price again. And I called
them and I said, hey, I am going. And by

the way, when I called, I called it. And when
you first are prompting to get through, don't try to
tell them that you're interested in, you know, dropping them,
trying to get your bill lowered, trying to get some
sort of a discount or a rebate or you know,
some sort of a credit because of all of this,

(11:45):
tell them you're having technical problems that will get you
through to somebody quicker. And I am not kidding when
I say this. When I first called, I said I
need to lower You know how the thing goes in
a few words, tell us what you would like to do,
and I said I need to lower my bill. I
went on definite hold. So I hung up and called
back and I said I need to speak to somebody about,

(12:06):
you know, lowering my bill. And it did the same thing.
So then I called back and I said, I have
a technical issue. I'm not kidding you. Within forty five
seconds somebody was on the phone and I said, hey,
I need to lower my bill, and then they said,
is this about the ESPN thing? And I said, no, no,
actually it's not. It's about my entire programming and you
guys are charging too much money. YouTube TV is much cheaper,

(12:29):
and in my mind, I'm going they don't have big
or wait, no, they don't have Bally Sports YouTube doesn't
YouTube TV. I can't miss the Reds, I can't miss
my Jackets. So I was like just trying to somehow
get them to do whatever. She ended up giving me
a twenty dollars credit as well, over this whole situation
with ESPN, and kind of to your point, because you

(12:50):
printed off an article Josh about that the direct TV
offering the twenty dollars credit during this whole Disney dispute
that's going on right now, and how to claim yours
you just call, And I wouldn't try. I wouldn't start with,
you know, in a few words, tell us what you're
trying to do. I would not say, I'm trying to
get my twenty dollars credit. You're going to be on
indefinite hold. I have a feeling, yeah you know, so yeah, yeah,

(13:14):
that was it was a I don't know.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
I I really enjoyed this weekend, and I wish the
weather would be every day like it was yesterday. I
don't know about you, but I couldn't get enough of
being outside yesterday.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Yeah it was. It was beautiful, no question about that.
So yeah, it was. Uh, it was a I'm trying
to think what was Oh yeah, we didn't really do
anything outside, but we should have. Yesterday we were going
to go to the zoo. We came this close to joining,
Oh my god, you and about forty five thousand other people,
so that it probably would have been a bad idea, right, yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
Because I I didn't drive past there yesterday. You know,
I don't live very far from there, but I didn't
drive past it. But a beautiful day, Labor day, schools out.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
Yeah, I think it would have been crazy. What I
did do, though, is I did take the boy to
go see that new alien Romulus movie. Oh, unreal. It
is outstanding.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
I think it's the second best alien movie behind the original.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
I'm not kidding. I've read that good. It's that stinking good. Yeah,
I've read that that It is as good, almost as
good as the first one, but easily the best out
of the entire all that whole franchise. Besides the first one.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
Besides the first one, I think it's the best one. Also,
it's PG. Thirteen, believe it or not. I mean I
think it was at least because there was no it's
it's the gore, you know, it's it's the alien popping
out of people, you know. But there's no nudity, there's
there's really no profanity whatsoever to speak of. I felt

(14:48):
totally comfortable taking my ten year old there. Now, I
did not take the six year old. She wanted to come,
and I'm like, no, no, no, no, no. You lot nightmares,
a lot of nightmares. This is kind of like a
guy thing where we like to, oh, man, the alien.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
Did they have the side that that obligatory, the side
shot where it's the profile of the person with the
alien in front of him and their teeth showing and
the stuff dripping off their teeth. They did that. There
were some good ones like that. You know what I'm
talking about yet.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
And then there's a real mega twist at the end
that I'm not going to spoil for people, but just
the introduction of something I never thought I would ever see.
I'll just put it that way. You'd have to see
it to.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
Sigourney Weaver is actually the alien. No, she's the alien, alright,
but this, I tell you what. I do not know
who this chick is. I don't recognize her, but the
main star. She's a badass. She is cool.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
I enjoyed her a lot, so I don't know what
her name is, but she did I'm sure sure.

Sigourney Weaver's like, girl, you did it. Justice outstanding man.
