Speaker 2 (00:00):
We are. I don't know where.

Speaker 1 (00:02):
It's one of those days unfortunately, where we're having to
be I don't know what the what's the what's the
word on bear?

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Or bad news? Yeah, with the market. And it's a
little more of.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
A of a grown up type show today, one that
we're not We're not happy having to deliver the bad
news like this.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Dang it.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Yeah, I don't think I've said anything borderline inappropriate all day.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
That's and that's unusual.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Well, there's not about a slider sack earlier, but we
were talking about wake. I said, you can't put a
value on your sack. Yeah, the slider sick from White House, right, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
So damn it.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
We are going to have some fun for a second
anyway before we get like, but lead singer of your
favorite band had a birthday on Saturday.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Yes, James Hepfield. James Hepdfield. August the third, nineteen sixty three,
Papa Hett was born. He is sixty one now six one.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Yeah, yeah, and wait, I don't know, were you getting
ready to give like a fact about him or something.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
I was just gonna say. Also, August third is.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
The day that my wife and I went to our
first concert together and that's where I relentlessly hit on her.
This was before I had asked her to go on
a date. She was a mutual friend and I was
just relentlessly hitting on her. And August third was oz
Fest two thousand and one up at Polaris.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
That was the first concert I ever went to with her.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
And then she clearly she was not put off, scared,
whatever whatever else you could use.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
She says that she was fascinated by how I didn't
care like how I was just like I was at
the show.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
I was having a good time.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
Slip Knock came on and lost my minds first time
I ever saw slipped on.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
I just had a good time. But August third is
a good day, so she was.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
She liked the fact that you were You were okay
with just having a great time, not being reserved.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
I wasn't trying to play cool guy impress her. I
was just like, hey man, I'm going to rock out.
I paid for these tickets, I'm going to have a
few cocktails and let's go right.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Yeah, that's cool.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
She got a an accurate snapshot of you, of the
lunacy that was yeah, which you experienced from time to time.
Still you know that situation. Yes, yes, especially if a
Metallica is involved. Yeah, you know, like I enjoy a
good concert. I told you man that Stone Tumble Pilot's
concert last Friday was fabulous. I don't get to go
to many shows anymore.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Gotcha as a guy who how many you've been?

Speaker 3 (02:37):
All right, you, due to your rock radio background, probably
been too one thousand different concerts.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
I've seen Aerosmith seven times seven because for whatever reason,
they toured a lot and came through and near this area.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Just to prove your point, met Steven Tyler.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Look, I'm not name dropping, but lately he you know,
they called it quits because his voice is that's it.
He's he's in his seventies, right, I mean, you got
a guy going, I got, you know, doing they I mean,
so yes to your point, Oh my gosh, I've had
I've seen a lot of shows.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
I basically spent age eighteen through age twenty seven at
a concert, like just I was always at concerts. Then
I got married at twenty seven, and it just everything
has gone downhill since.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
So I was very fortunate because it's right, it was
part of my I know exactly what you meant, but
it was part of the landscape of what I did
for a living, So I got to live both worlds
there getting married and then also continuing to do that
because it was part of what I did for a living.
So with you, it was it's kind of a different situation.

(03:49):
And also I probably only paid for about five concerts
out of the thousands that I've seen, so I've been
very fortunate. But you name him, I probably have seen him.
I's all. That's all West scandalon from Puddle of Mud. Jeez,
he got no did you see? Like he literally just
got arrested and uh, I think it was Santa Barbara
or somewhere in California. I just read it today and

(04:11):
I didn't really bring it up until I figured why not.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
What do you like, Puddle of Mud? You hate me?
I mean they had like a couple.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Uh it was like there's like a suspicion of Dui
and then he was resisting arrest, and I mean it
was a little bit of a crazy, crazy situation looking
at that, But yeah, that was one of the ones
that those will pop up sometimes.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
I'm like, oh, man, I know that.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
Cat, like I hung out with him or whatever kind
of thing. Anyway, back to James Hetfield. So he's celebrating
sixty one years old. This was a funny thing that
he put on Instagram. Listen to this te me how everybody,
I'm sixty one?

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Did you know that's funny? Did you happen to see that?
I did? Ear again. I saw that plenty.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
He was there with his girlfriend in a hotel room
because they were in Boston. They played Jillette Stadium Friday
and Sunday night. So yeah, I saw that video on Saturday.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
It's pretty funny.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
The helium fun side of clearly he's on you know,
your fingers are crossed. He's on the other side of
hopefully being sober, right, I mean.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Oh he's Wait, yeah, dude, you can tell. I mean
he is. He's sober.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
The band, the band is sober, you know, like Lars
is now a vegetarian.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Kurt has always been.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
A vegetarian, mostly vegetarian. You know, these guys, they exercise,
they take care of themselves because they they saw too
many of their heroes go downhill.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
And these guys.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
They want to they want to be will be playing,
you know, in their mid late sixties into their seventies.
They love what they do.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Yeah, So anyway, I just thought that was fun. I
was looking at that earlier today getting ready for the show,
and I was cracking up because it's a video they
posted on Instagram.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
I think it's the Metallica Instagram page, but singing to Enter.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
Sand Man, I love it. Yeah, it's just fun anyway.
You gotta love those candid moments from your hero. I
think it's fun at humanizing. I do too, Yeah, especially
watching if you watch Old Like Boy, they really had
some knockdown, dry up fights, you know, him and Lars,
and I mean probably in the throes of alcoholism.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
I'm guessing they had.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Well, the biggest fight they had was with when Dave
mus Staine was in the band and literally like, oh
we're going way back then, okay, yeah, like literally had
fistfight to him. Oh he's a maniac.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Yes, Yes, that's another guy that I've actually interviewed and
talked to him about skydiving. That was actually at Hilaris
at one of the they played somewhere there Megadeth did
and he was actually, he was surprisingly accommodating. I was
scared out of my mind. I was like, this guy's
going to be a jackass.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
So Mega death when they were having their let's just
say it wasn't they weren't so popular anymore for a while.
Around two thousand and two, two thousand and three, they
came and they were reduced to playing the Newport. Okay,
so they went from playing arenas around the world and
having to play the Newport whatever.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
Sobering, Yeah, so yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
They're playing the Newport.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
I walk into Fly Pie Flying Pizza there near the
corner of fifteenth and High, and as I'm standing in line,
you know, getting a couple slices in walks Dave Mustaine,
the man himself.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
I've got a Metallica shirt on at the time, and
I'm just like, hey, Dave Mustaine, I got that.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
That's awesome. He's just like, yeah, yeah, he sees me
wearing my shirt and I go and he just smiled
and he's like, dude, it's okay, yeah, okay, See that's
cool to hear that. I mean, what he gonna do.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
For autograph or anything like that. I was just like, oh,
I'm standing next to David Stain. We'reorth getting slices of pizza. Yeah,
they were super cool.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
As a matter of fact, at the time, we had
a listener when go to soundcheck with Megadeth and this
was a girl that won, and Marty Friedman the guitar player,
and David Ellison the bass player. Of course at the time,
Nick Menza was the drummer, but those Marty hung his
guitar on her. She played guitar, so she was playing

(08:44):
with them during soundcheck and Dave was cool with it,
which I didn't know how that.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
Was gonna go.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
You know, you know, you never know with him, he's
such a firecracker. But they had calmed down some. Yeah,
So anyway, all right, tomorrow people who are buying recreational marijuana,
and you know it's a it's these dual dispensaries. They're medicinal,
but they're going to be able to sell recreational. I
don't think there's any And look I could be did

(09:14):
I miss anything saying there are no just recreational places
that have popped up or that are popping up or
will be open by tomorrow. It's all the dual places.
That's from what I understand. They're all going to be dual. Yeah, okay,
that's what I That's what I was thinking as well.
There are many in Columbus. I think it felt like

(09:34):
there was like seven or eight of them.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Does that sound about.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
There's about seven or eight based on the interactive map
I looked at.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
And then there's a lot of outlining places as well. Yes,
that will be selling. So the online orders. Some states
with some of the recreational programs that are more mature,
that's kind of the way they frame it, including Michigan
Illinois do allow online orders for rec marijuana with dispensary pickup.

(10:02):
From what I understand they're going to allow that here
is that you're same but you have to go there
to pick it up. There's no going to be no delivery.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
I don't think they're allowing delivery, but you can pick
it up.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
There is an Ohio Administrative Code already banning medical marijuana delivery.
As far as rec delivery or eventual reck and medical delivery,
it's a possibility. I guess anything's possible, but as of
right now, and like for instance, in Michigan, from what
I understand, you can have it delivered there.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
You can order it and deliver.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Here's the thing that I I'm kind of a it's
like a little bit of a head scratcher with that.
If they deliver it I would imagine you have to
pay online for that.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
I mean, I'm asking you, like you've done this. I
know you haven't done it, but I don't know if you.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
I don't know anybody who's ordered online then had it delivered.
Do you know of any that has done that, like
anybody that you.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
Know, like a friend. No, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
So I would think that you would have to pay
with a card. In other words, you probably could not
pay cash when they pick it up or when they
bring it if if you know what I'm saying, like
the uh you're looking at me, I'm like, I don't understand.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
What are you saying? You think it's cash? Like they
won't take cash. Yeah, That's where I was going with this.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Like for the online orders, you probably once they begin
doing that here in Ohio, it's going to be something
that you pay for online before you go again.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
But as far as I know, I've never heard of
a dispensary that will allow you to use a card
because it's still federally schedule one.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
That's exactly where I was going with this. So I'm
going if you do order online and it's a pickup,
that's different you're going in.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
But That's that's where I was going with if they
do deliver.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
Have you heard of a situation where they do allow
a card but they they couldn't, right, I mean.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
I know, I don't know. Michigan's the only place I
know you can get it delivered.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
I don't.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
Well, I'm sure California, but I have no idea. I
have a sneaking suspicion.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
That's part of why a dispensary might not want to
get in the delivery business because it's cash only.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
So now their driver, whomever is.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
Delivering it for you, is going to if he does
a couple of different stops he's going he could have
a large sum of cash on him. And if somebody's watching,
you know what I'm saying, you know where I'm going?

Speaker 2 (12:28):
Yes, I do know. That's it. That's just one other things.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
Again, that's just us spitball and speculating, so on and
so forth. So this is another thing too that some
people have asked about if I go to Michigan and
I buy it there, because you were saying that you
thought it was going to end up, oh may I'm
getting so A was purchasing in Michigan cheaper than the

(12:54):
medicinal here in Ohio. I think you told me that,
yes time, yes, it is so just getting recreationally.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
So they're also not.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
As strong and the Michigan wreck cannot hold a candle
to the Ohio medical Okay, But.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
They were also saying that you risk violating federal law
if you bring it back to Ohio vice versa. If
you buy it here and take it there and consume
it there, there could be problems.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
That's again if they decide to pursue that or or
what have you.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
Traveling with recreational cannabis at Ohio airports, as they put it,
here is another matter. So the TSA, which is a
federal agency, which I'm sure you know, if they find
it during passage through a security checkpoint, they report it
to local law enforcement here and then it's up to
the local agency what steps they take from there, so

(13:49):
they don't do anything right in the airport, they turn
it over to whatever the local law enforcement is.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
Because there are.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
People going If I'm going from Ohio where it's legal,
recreational legal here, and I'm going to Las Vegas where
it's recreational legal there, why can't I take it?

Speaker 2 (14:07):
It's because of the way you're.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
Transporting based on what essentially Yes, yeah, that's based on
what I was reading and thinking about because there are
a lot of people having a lot of questions about that.
And by the way, even that's even if it's prescribed
by a doctor, if you have medicinal or whatever. But
that's like kind of the I don't know the cliff
notes version of that. But there's going to be a
mad rush, I think tomorrow for a lot of these places.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
They're gonna you know, I think

Speaker 1 (14:32):
A lot of them open at nine am, ten am,
but there's probably gonna be it's probably gonna be nuts tomorrow,
I would think,
