Speaker 1 (00:00):
So I'm watching Gutfeld last night, and you know, our
buddy Michael Loftis is on there, and I I just
I So, I'll be honest, when it came to Gutfeld,
when I first started trying to get into it, it's
an acquired taste. But once you feel it or it

(00:20):
starts to hit you and you'll figure that out with it.
It took me a little while. It took me a
few episodes. I don't know if you've ever watched it,
but it's like you know, sometimes but they do really
well in the ratings. Gutfeld does really well in the ratings.
You can I can absolutely see why when you watch it.
But it's not really like any other late night if

(00:42):
you will in quotes type of you know show that's on.
It's really it's really different. Their format is different, the
type of in all of that, he hits the round
table of people that rotate. There's a couple that are
in and out, but then some constants and so on.
But Loftus is on there all the time, and you know,
he was just here in the studio Friday with me.

(01:03):
You did mornings that day, you were on for Elliott
for Columbus Morning News, and so he came and sat
with me Friday afternoon. We had so much fun he
was doing he was doing, don not mister Furley that
I swear I got more comments from people that were
sending me stuff. I literally could not breathe, I could not.

(01:23):
I was laughing so hard. It was so spot on
his mister Furley, and it was so funny. But anyway,
he was on Guttfeld last night and he was hilarious
as usual. But the first time that Greg came to
him about you know, situations going on and it's all
you know, current events, and they just make fun of

(01:43):
all of it. But his take on what's happening with
Trump right now and it being like Christmas every day
right now with all of these different executive orders and
so on, so funny. Check this out.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
I am loving every single moment of this presidency. It's
like Christmas every day.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
Yes, it's like.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
All we asked, saman even for Jews, right, It's like
all we asked for was a wall, right, And Trump.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Keeps going, No, check under the tree.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
I think there's one more under there, the Gulf of America.

Speaker 5 (02:27):
How did you know?

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Check under the tree, there's one more under the Gaza Strip.
Oh my god, it's a great idea. It's gonna be awesome,
but we got to rename it. Write something confusing like
Mississippi North, just so no one really understands where we're going.
But you'll have to throw a stand on the end
of it, like Mississippi North a stan so we can

(02:52):
embrace the local culture.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
What about a m A to gaza? Okay, my magda
magzza goza, magonza stand goza stand.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
You get.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
No, you got like a homeless problem in La or
Mississippi or Alabama. Lift them up, drop them off there.
They can open up a Love's truck stop. They can
work at the Gaza Strip. We'll have that place rocking
and rolling by midnight.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Anyway, Pretty good, man. I love watching him on there.
It's it's surreal too, because I'm like, man, he's on
with and he's sitting next to filling the bike. One
time it's Tulca Gabber sitting there and like, man, I'm texting.
I texted, dude, I can't believe you. He's like, yeah, man,
it's just I don't know. For me, it's surreal because
I still kind of fanboy out with you. Know who
he's surrounded with and so on. So it's kind of fun.

Speaker 5 (03:45):
You talk about getting used to the gut Feld show,
the there's another field honestly that it reminds me of,
and that's Seinfeld. It's a lot because when you watch
the Seinfeld Show, you were kind of like there you
were in Jerry's apartment. You knew Gutfeld is like reared
back in his chair, half sitting, half laying. It's like

(04:05):
you're sitting around somebody's living room. There's not a real
formal this is the show type thing, you know what,
no desk, No, it's just it's just hanging out in
somebody's living room, right, And I think that's why it
works so well for and people are comfortable watching as
opposed to feeling like they're being instructed.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
They're part of it, right. And as far as Seinfeld goes,
if I'm not mistaken, I think that went a couple
of seasons. They were about to pull the plug on that,
weren't they before, and then it boom and exploded on Seinfeld. Yeah,
oh yeah. Jason Alexander I had him on the show
this is a few years ago, and he talked about

(04:44):
I think it yeah, it was. I'm pretty sure the
story because I don't have the greatest memory, but I'm
pretty sure the story goes that he was driving down
the street and it was because he said, you know,
there were at first it seemed like there were mostly
and again I think this is what he said, there

(05:06):
were mostly like white people that were all like really
into it. And I don't know that it was a
majority of people, but he was just like, you know,
we're thinking, okay, things are good. That he goes, I'm driving.
It was either he was driving or walking and there
was a black girl that was on and and like
called him by his show's name, and he goes, I'm serious.

(05:27):
Almost to the day. We never looked back. He goes,
it exploded at that point. Good, And that's roughly the
way that it went.

Speaker 5 (05:34):
But was he happy talking about George?

Speaker 1 (05:38):
I mean he was okay.

Speaker 5 (05:39):
With it so many times people for so long they're like,
you know, I do other stuff. Yes, because I would
have talked to him about Duckman. I loved him as
a Duckman's voice.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Well, and I'm sure he would have been He would
have definitely entertained that, I'm sure of it. He was
very he was very accommodating. That's a way to say it.
But look, he's a guy that I understands that, even
though that's very far removed from his life at this point,
he understands the reference.

Speaker 5 (06:06):
He gets it, George.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
Yeah, and he's smart enough to know that. But I
also didn't geek out and fit and I didn't start
with that. It was so I eased into it. I've
interviewed a couple of people, so you know, not to
just you know, kick that door down with that. Because
he was doing something. I think he was going to
be coming to town to do something and gosh, I
can't believe. I don't remember, but it's just like all

(06:28):
runs together when you know what it goes do when
you're in the business as log you talk to people
and you go, no, what exactly was he doing then?
But he was very good about talking about all that stuff.
He was good. It was it was great. It was
really fun. Yeah, for sure,
