Speaker 1 (00:00):
Show. All right, you're ready to do this.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
I'm ready.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
You're ready to do this, So I'm ready to do this.
Tell me you're ready to do this. You know you're
Are you away? Checked out this in for Blazer greeting
salitations and Welcome to the Mark Glazer Show numbers eight
two one nine eight eighty six A two one WU
TV and I have a feeling that you may have
a need for that today right here in the first hour.

(00:32):
I mean a couple of things right off the bat.
I'm a big well I considered that the big things. Uh,
Mike Dwaine, Governor of the state of Ohio, Mike DeWine
needs to name a lieutenant governor someone to take over
since John Houston was appointed to fill the vacant Senate
seat in Washington, D C. And Mike DeWine, Governor of Ohio.
Mike DeWine has has nominated former Ohio State football coach

(00:56):
and UH and K What is he president now? L?
L el Chapel of Youngstown State University? What's his title
up there? I can't even remember what he had.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
He was that he's not anymore?

Speaker 1 (01:07):
What is he now? Grand Pooh Bob.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
King, Lord Jim Trestle.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
Lord Jim Trestle as the next lieutenant governor of the
State of Ohio. Of course, if anything were to happen
to the governor, if he would choose to resign early
something like that, then it would be Governor Jim Trestle
of the State of Ohio. Now, I like, don't get
me wrong, don't get don't get me wrong. I like
Jim Trestle. I think he's a pretty good guy. Of course,

(01:38):
he made me pretty happy as a football coacher in
the state of Ohio. But lieutenant governor, hmmm, I'm not
saying I am a definite nay, but I am also
not an immediate yea to Lieutenant Governor Tressol. I don't

(02:02):
know what do you think of Zach Gary. I mean,
you're you've been here long enough to know, you've paid attention,
you're into collegiate stuff. What do you think?

Speaker 3 (02:09):
He's a football coach? Has he done anything in government?
And that's not even a prerequisite to be a good
public servant or public official. I just don't know anything
other than he coached Ohio State. Really, he won a
championship and there was some scandal that was ridiculous, like
twenty years ago.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
And running the university up there in Youngstown. Oh yeah, okay,
well so that's kind of an administrative thing.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
Okay, fair enough, But the lieutenant governor is like the
second highest position in the state. Rights, Like you said,
something happened to Wine, he would take over.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Yes, he would be governor junior. It was essentially what
it would come down to. I just I'm not, like
I said, I'm not an immediate I'm not an immediate
in Nay, but I'm also not an immediate Yale. I
got to think this over. What do you guys think.
I mean, I'm sure the news hit you today and
you're like, and you had a first reaction in the media.
I know a lot of people's immediate reaction, yeah, go

(03:01):
sweater vest governor, and that's what we want, And then
a lot of people had chance to steal on it.
Think about it. I just I'd like to know where
everybody's coming down on this, because it's just out of
This is one of those things that is out of
the blue.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
He's a Republican, right.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Well, good for him. I'm glad to hear that. But
but you know, this isn't about party affiliation. This is
Ohio is in a very formative stage of our existence
right now with all of this, you know, the Midwest
Silicon Valley and and all this stuff coming in, and
the state stated desire to eliminate the state income tax

(03:41):
in the next few years, which means they're going to
have to bring in money from elsewhere. We've got the
recreational weed which is now illegal. We got the the
sports gambling which is now legal. We got we got
increased taxes coming on, but both the weed and the gambling.

(04:02):
We got a lot going on. And I just I
feel like someone with political zest, if you will, is appropriate,
not necessarily a bureaucrat, mind you, not necessarily somebody who's
been part of the game, one of the old boys,
or but somebody who who has been like, you know,

(04:24):
if I need to be running the show, I need
They've they've had stated political agendas, they've had stated political points.
Jim Tressel has never been one to mix in politics.
He has he's been everybody's friend and he'd shake any
hand and very outgoing, very personable. I don't know, I

(04:46):
don't know that he even has a drive for something
like this, and that kind of worries me. I'm not
saying again, you don't have to be part of the bureaucracy.
You know, Donald Trump proved that as president. Sometimes an
outsider who is not part of the machine is the
best person you can get because they come in there
with a completely different mindset. And perhaps maybe I don't know,

(05:10):
Jim Tressel may be that kind of person, but I
just I got a thing on it anyway, A two
one nine eight six A two one dou WUTV And
I would love to get your thoughts on that. Also
up for grabs here in the the first part of
the show. I don't have any guest schedule till next hour.
And then the next hour is going to be a
hum dinger.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
You've seen that that video going around, haven't you, The
police video the man and the woman and the baby
and the police say, oh yeah. So we'll get into
that here in the next hour. But in this first
hour it's Tressell. And it's also also I'm gonna put
up here for grabs your opportunity to comment on this
ridiculous and this say this is see me, see me,
see me crapola coming from our legislature. Two Democrats. By

(05:52):
the way, this. Uh, this, this alleged preparation to introduce
a bill in the state House that they're calling the
Contraception begins with Erection Act Zachary, I am assuming that

(06:13):
you have read this. I have an opinion.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
I mean, it's just for it's like a protest bill
or whatever.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
It means nothing, but damn it. Don't they have better
things to do than this.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
I mean they should.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
It's it's it's ridiculous that elected members of our legislature.
They want to they want to pose for the camera,
they want to get their name out there in the media.
So I'm not going to tell you who they are.

Speaker 5 (06:38):
But.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
I am going to tell you that the direction behind
this bill, according to the sponsors, would make it illegal
to I'm going to clean this up because there's kids
getting off school and everything to to make any deposits
without the intent to fertilize an embryo. Okay, So essentially

(07:02):
it says you if if you're going to have the
relations and and you you're not, you're not wearing something
to keep that from happening, that this they want to
make that a criminal act. Huh. Really, yes, I'm not
joking about this, and it's there's no way this thing

(07:23):
would ever fly.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
No, I mean, it's ridiculous. But how would you oh
was that? How would you enforce it?

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Well, there's a good question, how would you enforce it?
How would you enforce it? Secondly, I mean, let's let's
let's turn this around. What if they also was introduced
a bill that would make it illegal for any any female?
And by the way, aren't they defining genders here? Aren't
they not saying there's a male and a female gender?
Just by even I'm just saying, but how about making

(07:52):
it illegal for any woman to allow herself to have
relations without the specific intent of creating life? I think
that's just as reasonable as this garbage anyway, A two
one ninety six A two one WTV And I see,
I see, I've got we've got a problem with the
computer screen in here, with the call screen thing where

(08:14):
I get to see who's all I have? Zach? Here
on this line is a black line going across. I
have no idea, there's no name, there's nothing.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
It's Tommy calling about trestle.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
I'll try Tommy, Tommy. Can I see him?

Speaker 6 (08:27):
No?

Speaker 1 (08:27):
I can't. Can he help me see him?

Speaker 6 (08:30):
No?

Speaker 1 (08:30):
He can't. But he's all the votes. So let's get
you on the Legacy Retirement Group dot com phone lines, Tommy,
Lieutenant Governor Jim Tressel appealing to you.

Speaker 7 (08:38):
Yeah, it's Tony, it's Westerville.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
Oh it's Niceville, not Tommy, because I thought you were
singing that was the who song.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
I wrote the screen in there.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
All right, So it's Tody and Westerville.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
Twitter, Bess, nice guy and all that.

Speaker 8 (08:54):
But these things usually come down to follow the money.

Speaker 9 (08:56):
How much is he donated to the wine?

Speaker 1 (08:59):
Well, you know that question is going to be asked
and we'll have to be answered. How much? How much
campaign money has he donated to h to Mike Dowaan
Was there a quid pro crole of some sort here?
That's people are going to ask that question. I don't
make the accusation, but it's a legitimate question.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
That's that's all I got. Usually it's follow the money.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
All right, to Toty, I appreciate you, thank you very much.
A two one nine eighty six A to one. Unless
it's Bernie Sanders, don't follow the money. I have never taken.
Yes you did, Bernie. I was so proud o RFK
on that it is just. It is not Dad Gunn.
I just I don't want to be seen as anti Trestle.

(09:39):
I do not because I am not saying that is
where I am. What I am saying is before I
can come to any sort of conclusion, I need to
hear from him. I'd love to get him on the air, Zach,
if you can call him up at home, just tell hey, Jimo,
Chuck would like to talk to you. I'd love to
sit down and talk to him and and you know,

(10:00):
get look him in the eye. Here his thoughts, Here,
his rendition of his vision for the state of Ohio
and his position as lieutenant governors. He said, already he
has a lot to learn. It's something new to him
and I can respect that. But behind that knowledge that
you need to gain, knowledge must also be some sort

(10:21):
of ambition or direction. Right. I would think a two
one WTV and you say, Doug, Doug, Doug. Let's go
to Doug on the Legacy Retirement Group dot com phone lines.
How are you Doug?

Speaker 10 (10:30):
Hey, I'm doing great. How are you guys doing time?

Speaker 1 (10:33):
Okay, as far as I know, but I try not
to ask too many questions.

Speaker 10 (10:37):
I can appreciate that I figure it's a quarter after
three and nobody's yelled at me, So it's a good day.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
Take that to the bank.

Speaker 10 (10:45):
Hey, I've got a different thought process on this whole
Trestle thing. What happens if he comes in and puts
the tariff on Michigan that revolves around cheating and scandals
and they have to give back national titles for the
years that they cheated, or we're going to impose a

(11:07):
terrifying them.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
Well, what do they ship anything here that we like?

Speaker 10 (11:14):
They used to ship victories but not anymore.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
I'm sorry, I'm talking to our engineering guy who's in
here trying to fix this computer thing for me. You know,
I think a teriff from if Tressel said tariff against
Michigan for important goods into Ohio, people might go for it.

Speaker 10 (11:34):
I think it would be a great idea.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
If you support him, you get a free sweater vest.

Speaker 10 (11:39):
Yes exactly.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
I appreciate you, Doug, Thank you very much for the thoughts.
A TYWTV and is a number not anti Trestle, not
pro Trestle. Gotta know something about Tressel before I can
say yes, that's a good idea. I saw a lot
of people on the social media going Mike Dwaine had
a fine idea and finally the guy got it right
and blah blah blalah blah blah. I'm I'm glad they
are excited, but I can't join them, at least not yet.

(12:10):
I got I'm just one person standing by still that
wants to comment on this. So there's plenty of room
for you at eight two one nine eight eighty six
eight two one WTV and I'd tell you who they were,
but but but I I can't see that, so uh
Blazer Show podcast on six ' ten WTV dot com.
I've chucked Douglas in for Blazer all week long. My
number eight two one nine eight eight six A two
one dou WTV in And obviously, uh, you guys have

(12:32):
some opinions on the prospect of a Lieutenant Governor Dressel.
Because the phones, oh yeah, they are eloaded. Don't go
anywhere because I'll get to you here in just a moment,
first through a check of your ABC six first warning
whether oh, I don't know if I want to talk
to Sarah or not unless she's gonna use the words
seventy degrees, could you work seventy degrees into whatever you're

(12:53):
about to tell me, No, I can't.

Speaker 7 (12:55):
I'm so sorry.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
Okay, we're gonna throw down. That's in fighting were there.
At least it's pretty outside right now.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
Though that is right at least soaking up the sunshine today,
it doesn't feel that bad outside, even though temperatures are
right now in the mid to mid thirties here in Columbus.
But tonight clouds will filter back into the area. Temperatures
are going to fall into the upper twenties. Clouds continue
in a Tuesday, and mainly in southern Ohio, we are
gonna see the chance for some snow showers. Now I'm

(13:23):
not rolling out a snowflacker to working their way up
into Columbus by later Tuesday night, but it's really Wednesday
that is going to be our most impactful system. On
the oddset of it could see a little bit of
some wintry mix, but then temperatures will warm up into
the upper thirties. So for the rest of Wednesday evening
we'll be dealing with rain and a few sprinkles and

(13:44):
some flurries may linger in a Thursday morning. Otherwise we'll
dry things out for the rest of Thursday and for
Valentine's Day as well with some more sunshine. Temperatures, though
will be colder, will be in the low thirties.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
Sir Covers, I appreciate you. I want you to take
a break and work on that whole seventy degree thing.
Just see if you can you can bring that into
your February.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
I will try to work my weather magic for you.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Thirty eight at jerse of Mere Weather Station, news Radio
six ' ten WTV and Lieutenant Governor Jim Trestle if
current Governor Mike Dwine has his way, and uh, yep,
you've got some thoughts on this. I notice I'm not
sure about the is caller one male or female? By
the way, uh, because that's an unusual first name, it's

(14:26):
a male. It is a male. So everybody on the
board is male right now. No women have any opinions
on on Governor or Governor Jim.

Speaker 3 (14:35):
I want to see the vest.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
They want the vest vets at Vexus. That's a sexy
vest A two wt V and J You're on the
Legacy Retirement Group dot com phone lines.

Speaker 8 (14:45):
Hi, Chuck, thanks for taking my call.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (14:48):
You know a lot of a lot of people wanted
to be us Senator and Mike Dwine had to pick
one and leave somebody out in the coal But now
with Lieutenant governor, he can pick someone like Dressel who
probably doesn't have the ambition to one day run for governor,

(15:09):
and all the ones who want to be governor. He
doesn't have to choose a side.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
You Yeah, yeah, So you think, you know, being kind
of an innocuous person who can hold the police but
not create any waves and you don't have any ambitions
of take it over the joint that that might be
a selling point.

Speaker 8 (15:28):
I think. I think that's what it is, unless I'm
wrong and Dressel wants to be governor. This way, the
line didn't have to pick Ramaswami, he didn't have to
pick any of the other ones who want to be
the Republican candidate for governor.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
That you know, you may be on to something, Jay
you maybe I appreciate the call and the thoughts, buddy,
Thank you very much. That's what I was saying at
the beginning. I've never known Jim Tressel to have any
political ambitions, at least not stated, and perhaps perhaps as
a policeholder, if you will. I don't mean to be
offensive by that. But perhaps in that capacity. Uh. Basically,
DeWine is just clearing the decks for whoever wants to

(16:03):
duke it out to be governor of the state of
Ohio when he when he leaves. That is the thought
A two one w t V and Mike, you're on
sixth WTV at high Yeah.

Speaker 11 (16:15):
Hello, I'll just think a little different than the last guy.
I think the line is worried about Levec and he's
thinking if he takes uh Trussell, who's a favorite son
of the state of Ohio, under his wing for a
year and a half and get him groomed, he can
run in the primary and off lovek out so that
he doesn't have to worry about him coming in and

(16:37):
destroying the Republican machine in the state of Ohio like
they're trying to do.

Speaker 5 (16:42):
In the federal government.

Speaker 4 (16:43):
And that's all I have.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Thank you, I appreciate you. Thank you very much for
the thought. And you may be correct too. The Vivek
Ramaswami potential candidacy, although it's been talked about fairly openly,
even by mister Ramaswami, you know, I have yet to
see it mature realize into an actual h you know,
an announcement and a campaign and blah blah blah. How

(17:07):
potent will he be as a candidate? I don't know.
I'm not even thinking about how potent he'll be as
a governor. The man's bright, he's connected, uh and I
you know he'll he'll do the job as well as
anybody most likely. But as a candidate, how potent will
he be? Could Jim Tressel? Could Jim Dressel eliminate the
Ramaswami possibility? That is another thought? A two n W

(17:29):
t V and an Aaron, you're on the Legacy Retirement
Group dot com phone lines? How are you? Hey?

Speaker 4 (17:33):
What's going on?

Speaker 1 (17:33):
Chuck?

Speaker 4 (17:34):
Great show as usual?

Speaker 1 (17:36):
Thank you. So.

Speaker 4 (17:40):
I think Jim Tressel would be a fine ambassador for Ohio.
I think that's all it really is. Somebody that can
travel around a little bit and say, hey, this is
why Ohio's great. Jim Trestl is a good choice for that.
Although I think he's getting he's getting a major eye
roll from every Michigan fan that resides in our state.

(18:04):
I don't know how they feel about Jim Tressell. Probably
not as warmly as you know, the ones amongst us
that root for the Scarlett and Gray. I do think
Jim Trestle is a little arrogant and pompous, but that'll
fit right into that crooud.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
I think that's aaron. That's interesting. I have always thought
of him as being a rather shy, fairly humble guy
as far as his at least his public persona goes.
But you see it differently.

Speaker 4 (18:30):
Well, let me tell you where I'm coming from with that.
When he first started, when his first press conference, okay,
very first press conference, he said, ask me how many
days we have until we play Michigan? And he had
it to the day in his last year when somebody
and I think it was a reporter for six ten
shout it out of the crowd, Hey, coach, how many

(18:52):
days to Michigan. He looked at that report and said,
you know what, we have other things to think about
than just.

Speaker 9 (18:57):
Michigan right now.

Speaker 4 (18:58):
So because of that, I my my feelings for Jim
Tressel kind of waned at that point. Okay, I however,
I do think he'd be a good ambassador. I do
you know, he's he kind of I don't know if
he has a law degree or not. Probably not. And
because of that, I don't think he stands a chance
at running for governor. Vivic Ramaswami was absolutely eating lunch

(19:21):
in a debate.

Speaker 1 (19:21):
He had no chance, all right, Aaron, I appreciate hold
on real quick, real.

Speaker 4 (19:26):
Quick quick about the the the doge thing, the reason
why the Democrats are giving up such a fuss. It's
just like rush Limbaugh said, this is a fight to
the death. And when you drop a gladiator into that
arena and he's out there to try to find corruption
and he's gonna find it. The people that are that

(19:46):
are screaming the death rattle, their rattle is just getting
very very loud.

Speaker 10 (19:53):
Oh god, Main.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
That's between and Schumer. The last week was absolutely.

Speaker 4 (20:01):
Gifty ship Shipterson.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
I don't I don't think he's real. I seriously think
he's Yeah.

Speaker 4 (20:07):
I think Robot definitely is get out of here. I
definitely got one of the little guys riding around in
his head with all joysticks.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
I appreciate your thoughts, but you're you're you're crazy as usual,
So I appreciate somebody have a good after dude, A
two y w TV at A two one nine eight
eight six val you were coming up next and you
dropped off Val. I'm assuming vow was female was valid?
Female is a guy? Vow was a guy too? Really,
no women have any thoughts on Jim Tressel.

Speaker 3 (20:35):
He even said my name is Val, like how you
spell Valentines?

Speaker 1 (20:38):
And I was like, oh right, huh, I've never you know,
anything's possible. I just I'm really surprised because females generally
see past what's right in front of them, kind of
see a person more. And I figured at least a
few of them would would want to jump in there

(20:59):
and say no, Jims is a great guy, and I
can tell how compassionate is something. I'm really surprised. It's
been all guys A two, one, nine, eight, eighty six. John,
you're on six tenhable E TV. And Hi, Hey Chuck,
how you doing well, sir? How are you well?

Speaker 7 (21:14):
I can I can have one question, probably for Trestle.
Did you ask him? And it would be in a
probably cover like if a female called in.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
The question would be what he.

Speaker 7 (21:24):
Thinks about females and sports playing for the males playing
in female sports?

Speaker 1 (21:30):
Okay, do you think I think that would be a
good question? Would we get a surprise answer from him?
Are you expecting a surprise answer.

Speaker 5 (21:38):
It's hard to tell.

Speaker 7 (21:39):
He just runs up the middle all the time when
he coached, so I don't yeah, and then chuck. The
other question was, we were kind of meeting another guy
here working. We're kind of wondering what the lieutenant governor
is anyways, so we figured that old big Balls there
might hounit it. And it wouldn't even be in a

(22:00):
position pretty fair.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
You kind of like the you know, he's the vice governor.
So if the governor's tied up and can't attend the
function or something like that, the lieutenant governor would be
the one. And then just I guess, is the air
apparent to the the gubernatorial title? Oh okay, if it
was just it was just about being an ambassador, yeah,
I'd have no problem with that idea. But as I
said at the beginning, I Ohio is going through so

(22:23):
much with all the tech investment. We've got Google, we
got Intel, we got Microsoft, all these billions of dollars
coming in here. We're dealing with Washington over that ridiculous
failed Chips Act, which isn't funding when it was supposed
to fund. We got a ton of jobs on the
line here. If this stuff doesn't work out the way
it's supposed to. People have relocated from other parts of
the country to live here because of it. There's a

(22:44):
lot of real serious stuff on the line for the
future of Ohio, and I just I feel like we
need somebody who who's who's good at this kind of thing.
And I just I'm not saying Jim Trussell is not.
I just don't haven't seen anything to this point that
would make me believe he is. Okay, thanks, thanks for
the call eight two one nine A two one WTV

(23:04):
and and again, please make understand what I'm saying. I'm
not anti Jim Trussell. I'm just not immediately on the
Trestle bandwagon with him as our lieutenant governor and potentially
eventually our governor. Bill You're on six ten do wl
UTV at high.

Speaker 5 (23:21):
Yeah, Hey, I think Jim trust will make a great governor.
He's dripping with great integrity and honor, and he don't
need to be a lawyer. You know, I'm a real
conservative person. I'd never vote for the Ramaswami. I think
he's a snake in the grass. But what would steal
the deal with Trestle If you promised to build a
wall in between Ohio and Michigan.

Speaker 1 (23:44):
And his first thing will be an executive order to
O d n R to declare open season on Wolverines.
Got it all right, Bill, thanks for the call and
a goal the Mark Pleaser show. I don't have a
team set, ladies. You're on sixty ten, don't you, tDNA.
I need doing no with somebody. When somebody does says

(24:12):
acts in some stupid way, he does something and you think, man,
they put they're gone. And I don't know how many
times I have said in the last decade, the overall
meaningless Kanye West lost his damn mind. Well, guess what.
Guess what Kanye did. Maybe he's celebrating the Super Bowl.
Maybe he's celebrating the Grammy. I don't but but Kanye

(24:32):
has once again he must have refilled because once again
lost his damn mind. I will tell you about that
uff in just a bit. Right now, I need to
tell you about some other people lost their damn mind
here in the city of Columbus. So it's a man
and a woman. A loud woman allowed it like a
parrot in your ear, a loud woman. And they got
the video where McK kanye yick I'm calling you, and

(24:54):
of course the woman, being a white woman, has learned
all the appropriate phrases for the BLM lawsuit. He can't breathe.
It was angrily comical to watch this video because of course,
you know, they're trying to turn it into something that
it's not, and they got smacked on the head with

(25:14):
a little reality. FOP Lodge nine president Dave Bryan Steele
joining me right now on the Legacy Retirement Group dot
com phone lines. Brian, how are you, great, brother?

Speaker 9 (25:24):
How are you? Thanks for having me As always.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
I am glad to have you on in a way
of celebration as opposed to dealing with a problem or
something like that. This was one of the quickest immediate
vindications I think I've ever seen when somebody points a
finger at our police department. Congratulations to all the guys
and ladies out there.

Speaker 9 (25:42):
Yeah, I appreciate. We call that a swing and a
miss by that individual.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
Was it did? I mean? I have to assume you
guys were laughing. You're probably sitting around in a locker
room watching this over and over, laughing at the stupidity
of this video and their attempt to do what happened
in the nutshell. Here it is. The guy pulled up
on the curve okay, which is now, by the way,
illegal in Columbus. It wasn't until just a few years ago,
believe it or not, but he was up on the

(26:06):
curb and he and the wife, according to their story
in the video, had just come home with the baby
and they just pulled up so they could get the
baby out officers on the other side of the street.
He goes, hey, buddy, you got to move the car
out of there. You can't have it up there like that.
And the guy wants to get well we used to
call getting red. Guy wants to get red with the
other Why you thought me to move? I'm not moving

(26:26):
my card and then wants to confront physically the officer,
but before doing so, puts the child in his arms,
so that the officer has a child in the arms.
It's the bad guy, and then gets up and physically
touches the others assault right there. He had touched that
officer in a combative. That's that mistake number one. Okay,

(26:48):
did not comply touched the officer. Put a child in
the way. The officer asked at least a dozen times,
put the baby down, get rid of let it. Come
get your kid. No, she's there, I'm recording you. He
can't breathe. What are you doing? In my heart? But Brian,
this was so stupid, it was funny.

Speaker 9 (27:08):
The whole thing was ridiculous. Listen, so a number one.
This is how this should have went down. The minute
the officer said, hey, you can't park up on the sidewalk,
you can't block the sidewalk. And people might say, what's
the big deal, it's not a big deal. Well, it's
a big deal if you're a child trying to ride
your bike on a sidewalk. It's a big deal. If
you're in a wheelchair trying to get by. All the
person had to say was, hey, officer, we got this

(27:28):
little kid. We just went food shopping. It's kind of hard.
You know, it's tough to get by. You might have
kids yourself. Can you give us a second. The officer
probably would have said, yeah, just take him in, unload
your stuff, don't do it again, and it would have
been on their day. They escalated that the woman was
out of control. The white woman called the black officer
and uncle Tom so offensive, and then they go on

(27:49):
internet pretend like there's some paragon of virtue and they're
the victims of this one hundred percent stand by the officer.
So does our police chief. I was so proud of
the statement she made.

Speaker 1 (27:59):
I sent you a text as soon as it popped
up on my screen. I the hell that Columbus has
been through over the past couple of years with a
lack of backing, a doubt of I'll say, a doubt
of leadership, because when she came in here out of Detroit,
I'm thinking, oh, you know, this is no longer a
Chief Jackson situation. You serve at the pleasure of the

(28:21):
guy at ninety West Broad Street, so you got to
kiss his button, make sure he's happy. She's not gonna
stand up for anything. This weekend. She proved me wrong,
and I was very happy to see that. She issued
a statement immediately declaring the ridiculousness of the situation and
the officer's correct response, and that just it warmed my
heart to see her back up the troops like that.

Speaker 9 (28:43):
You know, it was great. I would say, you know,
you'll never get labor leaders in a management degree. One
hundred percent of times, I'd say the overwhelming majority of
the time. The chief and I do see ey to
eye and we won one hundred percent saw eye to
eye in this look. I usually put out statements, you know,
I get in front of these things all the time,
and I try to show the transparent, see any accountability.
It was such a cut and dry situation. Once the

(29:03):
chief released the full video, I just saved my oxygen
and my handwriting and didn't even bother put anything out.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
This is Brobsteel, by the way, he's president of the
columbs Fop Lodge number nine for the police department. No,
he's makes himself available. I'm assuming are we still working
on the list of coming charges for both these people?
I'm assuming they're they're going to be taken to task
for the way they conducted themselves and trying to set
basically trying to set a societal fire in Columbus, Ohio.

Speaker 9 (29:32):
Yeah. You know what's a shame is and there's good
about it at this we've talked about it. There's so
many layers of scrutiny, so many layers of criticism, there's
so many layers of accountability. This will go to Inspector
General's office. Who's going to clear the officer? What kind
of accountability on this gentleman on this woman. Where do
they work? Maybe I'll find it where they work and
I'll make a complaint on them, because again racist comments,

(29:53):
completely out of line, trying to stir this up into
something that was completely not They need to be held accountable.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
And what they could have done to our city or
across the nation. Actually, because you know, I was reading
the post and unfortunately there is that contingent out there
that immediately started posting on the social media. See once again,
a black man can't do that. White cops and black
cops all the same. They just cops. They don't care
about black people. This is so rough. You're stirring up

(30:21):
a hornet's nest that didn't even have to be touched,
and I think you need to be accountable. We are
in a time where you know, it takes very little
for people to be afraid to go to go outside
their house because once the sparking nights, people do crazy
crap and you don't even want to go outside your
door to go to the grocery store. People need to

(30:41):
be held responsible when they do stuff like this.

Speaker 9 (30:44):
Sure, and that officer that was involved in an incident,
one of one of I'd say one of the greatest
officers we have. And you know, I'll call out officers
when they do wrong, I'll support them. They do right
nine percent, they do right. That Ulser is not only
outstanding officers, outstanding human being. And he did his job
and that's what we pay him to do. So the
old you know, f around to find out that guy
did and he found out.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
That day, it said, so it did as a wonderful day.
It was a great weekend. Uh. And vindication is always
a positive thing. You got any other good stuff going on,
by the way with the FOP that I haven't had
you on in a little while, Any good news to report.

Speaker 9 (31:17):
Yeah, listen there, there's always good news. We're always out there.
We're always out in our community, just trying to trying
to keep on grinding, keep trying to keep the trust
and transparency coming. And we do a lot of good
work with our charity. So we we got some checks
being cut, We got some checks being cut to the
special Olympics. I was challenged to go through the pole
bear plunge. Unfortunately I was out of town and couldn't.

(31:38):
But I'll at least put my paychecker a written check
where my mouth is, and we'll get some money to them,
and I'll let you know. We got some events coming
up in the in the spring and summer and and
and love to be able to put them on the
air and just kind of get more people to help
us out and get more money to our community.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
We serve anytime I can get you support or attendance
or anything else. You always have. You always have airtime
here and no problem whatsoever getting any interest. By the way,
and being lieutenant governor right here, that's up for grabs.

Speaker 9 (32:03):
Well, yeah, I said, we're good right now, let's stick
it could be in the voice of law enforcement. President.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
I don't know that kevlars sweater vest has the same
ring to it anyway. Yeah, no, I thank you, and
please relay, please relate to the officer and all officers
how very much they are appreciated here and we are
here for you anytime.

Speaker 9 (32:26):
Yeah, you got it. Brought the thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
Number eight two n w TV. And I took offense
to it. I took offense to it because of the
crap that these people could have started. Did you see it, Zach,
I mean everybody else and their mother saw it? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (32:43):
Did you?

Speaker 3 (32:44):
It was highly insufferable to watch.

Speaker 1 (32:47):
I just you know, I don't believe in being violent
unless you were confronted with violence. But I'll tell you what,
I was clenching my teeth listening to that woman just
screeching in the background. She was doing her best. She's
that woman you're dating and you go to a bar
and she finds the biggest, meanest looking dude in the bar,
probably has somebody's arm hanging out his mouth or something,

(33:09):
and just he's half drunk and he's big and evil,
and she goes over and she like flirts with him
a little bit while you're in the bathroom, so when
you come out, he's real and then you get chewed
up by this monster because she enjoys seeing the carnage.
That's what that woman is.

Speaker 3 (33:27):
Yeah. I was gonna add something, but that pretty much
sums up perfectly. I Mean, it was just one of
those things that you cringe from watching it because it's
just so enraging. Just that voice was awful, and.

Speaker 1 (33:41):
The thing of this is heat. I mean, he didn't
even have to be coax man. He was right up.
So apparently this is just their nature.

Speaker 3 (33:47):
Oh yeah, this wasn't the first time I doubt this
is the first time they've argued with police officers or
anybody else. Probably that day.

Speaker 1 (33:54):
Yeah, almost rehearsed, he can't breathe. Are we gonna do
this again? That offended the crap out of me. I
just really, you wanna that is a direct, a direct
attempt to incite a reaction from the public. You want
to do that to my town? I don't think so, man.

(34:14):
I hope whatever judge you get, I hope that judge
wakes up that morning before seeing you in the courtroom,
steps on a lego block in his bedroom or her
bedroom if it's a and and goes to use it,
and somebody left the seat up, and and uh notices
a bing in the car from the parking lot at

(34:36):
the grocery store of the night before, and hits a
pothole and gets a flat on the way to the courthouse.
And when they get there, there's no sugar for their coffee.
That's the mood I hope the judge is in when
your pathetic little butt appears before them. Is that you
think that's too much? Okay, I'm I'm not one. I'm

(35:01):
not one to mince words with that.

Speaker 3 (35:03):
Guys.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
I don't know so, And if you saw it, if
you think I'm wrong, I mean this with all sincerity.
I love to have that conversation with you. I would
love you tell me what you saw that you thought
was justified in this video. Everybody has seen it at
this I think there's probably a movie release date coming
up for it. That's how passionate people were about watching

(35:26):
it over the weekending Weather Sports and the Mark Blazer
Show on six ten WTVN Oh my goodness, sunshine makes
all the difference. I mean, it's only thirty seven right now,
but I don't know. Just being able to see a
little sunlight makes it feel a little better. And I
think we have what now, thirty is it? Thirty nine days?

(35:48):
I believe until the first day of spring. If I'm
not mistaken, there is Does that sound about right?

Speaker 3 (35:54):
Yes, that sounds right.

Speaker 1 (35:55):
Okay, Now, well, meteorological spring and seventy degrees actually come together,
I should I expect a decent spring? Have you looked
that far ahead? Or are we going to get one
of those goofy springs that stays cold until August?

Speaker 2 (36:10):
So right now, the rest of February looks to be
boo average. Unfortunately, the one warmer quote unquote day that
I have coming forward here in the near future is
forties on Saturday.

Speaker 1 (36:25):
Okay, I can live with forties. Will there be a
little sunshine to go along with it?

Speaker 10 (36:30):
No?

Speaker 1 (36:30):
Okay, back to back here, No, go back to your basement,
go back.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
I know I'm just the bearer bad news right now. Well,
definitely make sure to soak up what's left of the
sunshine for today, because we're looking at a couple different systems.

Speaker 1 (36:45):
On the way.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
So tonight, clouds will filter back into the area. Temperatures
are going to fall into the upper twenties, and then
for Tuesday, lots of cloud cover and then some snow showers.
Most of the snow will stay to our south. That's
where we're looking at accumulation upwards of one to three inches.
I'm not ruling out a few snowflakes here in Columbus,
especially in the evening, though accumulations are going to stay

(37:07):
minor well below an inch, and it's going to be
more of a dusting on grassy and elevated surfaces. Then
heading into Wednesday, that's going to be our most significant system.
By the time I get in a Wednesday afternoon, we'll
have a brief period of a rain snow mix, but
then transitioning into all rain showers for the rest of
Wednesday evening. A couple sprinkles very light precipitation early Thursday morning,

(37:30):
but the rest of the day will be dry. Sunshine
returns for Valentine's Day, though it will be colder outside,
will be in the low thirties, and as I kind
of hint it toward, for Saturday, yes it will be warmer,
but it will be wet.

Speaker 1 (37:43):
It's important for you to know, Sarah convers. Meteorologists told
USAX six it's eighty four in Tampa right now. You
just need to understand.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
Let me see if I can make a call to
my parents who live in Florida and see if they
can kind of ship that warm air.

Speaker 1 (37:57):
Put it in a box, get it on the truck,
get it up here. For goodness sake. We're at thirty seven.

Speaker 12 (38:02):
Right now at Serves the near weather station, News Radio
six Ton WTV. He's fun to play with and Chile
February fourteenth ain't all that bad because that's Valentine's Day,
So a reason to snuggle for Valentine's Day.

Speaker 1 (38:15):
It won't hurt you, will it you gotta be snuggling
Valentine's Day. Got a big plans for Valentine's Day, doing
anything on Valentine's.

Speaker 3 (38:21):
Day, probably rewatching the super Bowl halftime show.

Speaker 1 (38:24):
Oh yeah, because it was the best halftime show ever.
What did he say? I don't even I look. I
understand I am older than the target demographic for what's his.

Speaker 3 (38:34):
Name, kendrink Lamar.

Speaker 1 (38:36):
Yeah, that guy, I understand that. But I did two
things that I actually heard. The word Drake was in there,
and I know that's another performer with whom I guess
he has some sort of ongoing battle or beef, as
they say.

Speaker 3 (38:50):
I think it's pretty much over now. I think Kendrick won.

Speaker 1 (38:53):
And then he said something about he didn't he know,
probably a minor and he really stretched a minor in
this p did era, which I thought he was making
some sort of point with that too.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
He was he called Drake what he said, uh dre.
He had that censor himself a little bit with the language, yeah,
of the song, and that him and Drake went back
and forth. Anyway, that the whole point of him saying
that was like, you're trolling online, trying to strike a
chord and it's probably a minor like you're striking like
you're a pedophse.

Speaker 1 (39:23):
So you actually know the word the verse? You really?

Speaker 3 (39:28):
Yeah, I just played the song. I just didn't have the.

Speaker 1 (39:30):
Vocals of Oh okay, So you just coached yourself in there.
It's not like you're not a fan of that. I mean,
you don't go home at the one. You're Kendrick Lamar music,
do you no?

Speaker 3 (39:39):
I do it on the way I like Kendrick Lamar.

Speaker 1 (39:41):
Do you really? Yeah? For sure? So he is a popular,
popular person. I mean, got the super Bowl halftime show,
so I guess a couple of people need to know
who he is.

Speaker 3 (39:49):
He's super popular in the moment, and the rap beef
with him and Drake was super you know with the
teens and the young adults, like a big deal.

Speaker 1 (39:59):
I'm just wondering, you know, they're always talking about voice
track or not voice tracking, but voice slip syncing and
so forth in those kind of performances and all that
kind of stuff. And uh, first of all, I didn't
know Uncle Sam was Samuel Jackson until afterwards and they
said Samuel Jackson's name. I just thought, damn, Uncle Sam
looks a lot like Samuel Jackson but a nice Jim.

(40:20):
But but I suppose it's from you know, he's uncle Sam,
which makes sense. What's saying your wallet? And would he fought?
But anyway, so I didn't understand a thing. The guy said,
I I don't care because it's not that important to me.
In fact, I started watching the game simply because I

(40:40):
knew I had to come in here and talk to
you people tomorrow or today. And I'm like, okay, let
me at least pay a little attention. I discovered really
something kind of pervy about myself, you know what they
any idea what that might.

Speaker 3 (40:52):
Be if you haven't discovered it by now.

Speaker 1 (40:55):
I just found it out at eighty three. I still
think Martha Steort is well, she is ag wow wow.
I mean the AI breakdancing thing that was something. But
how this is how old I'm getting that I'm looking
at Martha's store eighty three years probably probably when it
takes off. Her shoes smell like Ben Gay but still.

Speaker 3 (41:17):
She doesn't look eighty.

Speaker 9 (41:18):
When he's just.

Speaker 1 (41:19):
Visual you look at you, Yeah, Martha's doing so anyway,
that and UH, I liked I liked the uh they
West Virginia West Virginia did a good job. I'm gonna
give West Virginia credit. They're travel and tourism people in
conjunction with one of those travel services, Tobago or something.

(41:43):
I see. That shows you how effective your advertising was,
because I don't remember who you are, but anyway, they're
doing you know, almost heaven West Virginia in the commercial.
Then they come back from commercial and the entire stadium
is singing take me Home, Country Roads or Country Roads,
take Me Home, toping them on version of the song
you listened to. Yeah, And I just thought that was

(42:03):
a cute transition. And they also had the announcers read
what we call a liner about West Virginia and a
U and the travel agency or whatever it was that
had everybody singing in unison. That was very well planned out,
and I was impressed by it.

Speaker 3 (42:22):
I mean, they did do a good job at West
Virginia is beautiful in a lot of parts.

Speaker 1 (42:26):
Well, and the commercial made me want to go to
West Virginia visit West Virginia, which that's pretty cool. That's
we used to have Ohio the heart of it all,
and we would do advertising like that. I don't know
if we're still doing any of that or not. Columbus
used to have Columbus Columbus. We're making it great. Columbus,
Columbus the star of the state. They pumped up Columbus

(42:48):
back when it was still you know, still called the
Caltown And you know what do we have now? Nothing?

Speaker 3 (42:57):
I don't know you And I if I was ahead
of it and trying to get some more people to
visit Ohio, I might hire, you know, Kendrick lamar.

Speaker 1 (43:06):
No, and so overall, I was very what I the
reason I kept watching was because after after two touchdowns
and a big goose egg, I thought Philadelphia might pull
this out. Then it got to what was it, thirty
four to zip, I'm like, oh my gosh, yeah, I
was watching it too. Never expect a blowout like this.

(43:28):
And then it just became amusing to me to watch
the struggles of my homes until the fourth quarter. He
couldn't do squat and because the assumption was that everything
was going to go their way and the Kansas City
Chiefs are going to win and so forth. I actually
enjoyed watching that beat down. And I may end up

(43:49):
a Philadelphia fan because the team afterwards, they were very unified.
They were very grateful. I heard many people expressing their
religious thanks and heard many of them talking about one
another as if you know, it was a unit out there.

(44:10):
I am not to this point ever even considered Philadelphia team.
I might follow, but after yesterday I might. I might
because that was that was kind of a nice way
to culminate thing.

Speaker 3 (44:19):
I started following them because of the mayor.

Speaker 1 (44:22):
Because of her spelling ability. Yes, you know, we should
all get together and send her whatever passes as hooked
on phonics these days just to see Jahan. I lost
his name, but I'm assuming this is still Jahan on
the Legacy Retirement Group dot com phone lines.

Speaker 13 (44:37):
How are you, buddy, I'm doing good and just calling
about that Kendrick Lamar guy. Yes, it's gonna take a
heck of a lot for anyone to ever have the
worst halftime shows than that.

Speaker 1 (44:52):
Why, I guess it depends on your perspective, because you know,
millions of people under thirty apparently I thought it was amazing.

Speaker 6 (45:00):
Well, I'm I'm a long ways from thirty.

Speaker 13 (45:02):
But I'll tell you what going around and tell.

Speaker 6 (45:04):
You about his halftime show is he brought Bell Bottoms back.
I can't even tell you when he changed songs. It's
going to take a lot to get worse than that.

Speaker 1 (45:17):
Yeah, yeah, I am. I am overall not a big
fan of the rap music of today because I just
it's we used to call it free styling back in
the late eighties early nineties, where there was no disciple,
rhythm or anything else, and that has really become the
norm for rap. It doesn't matter what the music is,

(45:37):
what the beat is, what the None of that matters
because you go out there and do the same thing
over this music bad as you do over you know,
a music from Barry Manilow. It doesn't matter because your
words have no rhythm, no meter to them at all,
and that that kind of loses it for me.

Speaker 6 (45:55):
Correct. I have nothing against rap. I love rap, I
love hip, I love every kind of music there is.
But that was bad.

Speaker 10 (46:05):
Yeah, that's you know.

Speaker 6 (46:07):
That's my opinion, and that's what this show is all about.
You're doing a great job, and keep it up.

Speaker 1 (46:11):
John, I appreciate you, buddy, Thanks very much, enjoy the
rest of your afternoon. By the way, he was speaking
of rappers, music, musicians and people that don't make any sense.
I must tell you this before we hit the break
Kanye West cow or yay, he's just yay now yeah, yay.
Now this man, this he he doesn't have a mind
to lose anymore. He has completely lost it.

Speaker 3 (46:34):
Some of it. I can't tell if he's joking and
and crazy or not, because on Twitter he was like
free puff daddy.

Speaker 1 (46:42):
He has gone beyond crazy, he really has. He's gone
to hateful offensive. Sure, And if this is how he's
trying to stir up business or recognition or something, this
is wrong. Website right now, white t shirt for sale
with a big black swastika in the middle.

Speaker 3 (46:57):
I mean he was also tweeting things like the Make
a Wish Foundation contacted me to take pictures with kids
and wheelchairs and I denied all of them.

Speaker 1 (47:05):
Oh my gosh, which one of the krap Dashians was
married to him? Kim Kim Kim Krapdashian West. Yeah, that
sounds right. Yeah, I'm sure, I'm sure that's a she'd
probably regretting that. I mean, it's not that the Kardashians
are any are any you know, they are not going
up on a poster on my wall anytime soon either.

(47:25):
But still, this guy is two steps south of stupid already.
