This was a time of when Jenny Craig was out,
when people used to drink slim fast cans. Weight watches

Your wait, come on now, yes, that's why they call
it weight watches. But yes, yes, brother, brother, right, you
had to watch your weight. You might not lose it,
but you watched it either get high, watched it last
because you just watched it, watch it to go up
and watch it go down. I think Big Luther was

(02:13):
on weight watches, just watches. Oprah was on weight watches
because it just she just watched it, hey man. And
with some weight watches out here, now your legacy lives forever.

Speaker 2 (02:24):

But to wgc IL morning show.

Speaker 5 (03:22):
Hey listen man in lieu of the deadline of the
real ID, and I know a lot of y'all are
fronted to get it, but be careful because the scammers
are getting people money from people off the real ID.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
How you ask.

Speaker 5 (03:35):
They're sending links out saying hey, if you want to
expedite your real ID, hit this link, and when you
hit the link, it's going to sites that look like
government sites. Then they're asking people for credit card numbers
to pay fees to expertize.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
It, and then you have no real idea.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
And now they got your credit card number and they
didn't took money off of it, and they also have
your information. Not only that, there are also some of
these sites when you go to they're putting malware on
your computers, malware on your phones that can pull all.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
Of your information.

Speaker 5 (04:06):
You know a lot of people store bank cards and
everything on their phone. So they're saying that the government
is saying, listen, man, the only place you can get
a real ID. The only place is by going into
the DMV. If you can't get it online, you can't
do any of that. You have to walk your ass
into the DMV and get your real If.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
You did not get it get it from the DMV,
you got a fake.

Speaker 5 (04:28):
You got scammed. You ain't getting nothing. A couple of
hundred dollars short. So just word of the word to
the wise. Any suspicious messages should be reported to the
Federal Trade Commission.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
And deleted immediately.

Speaker 5 (04:41):
So don't click on the link when you see real
ID got you stuff coming through A crazy story coming
out of Memphis, Zach.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Remember that guy Tyree Nichols, He.

Speaker 5 (04:53):
Was in Memphis. He got on twenty twenty three. He
fled on a traffic stop and the officers called him in.
They videotaped themselves that body cam.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
It was like four black officers and they beat him
to death.

Speaker 5 (05:02):
It was five they beat him to death. Well, three
of the five police officers who beat him were acquitted
on murder, assault, kidnapping, the misconduct charges I remember his
death led the nationwide protests for about police reforms. They
said the prosecutors argued that the officers use excessive deadly

(05:22):
force and trying to handcuff Nichols, and were criminally responsible
for each other's actions. They also said the officers had
a duty to intervene and stop the beating and the
tail medical personnel that Nichols had been hit repeatedly in the.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Head, but they failed to do so. But they said three.

Speaker 5 (05:36):
Of the officers were acquitted of those charges and the
two that they really have on them messing them up,
which remember they said, I guess he was messing with
one of the officers girls or something.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
So those two are still.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
So how the other three get off, Well, they said.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
They didn't hit him.

Speaker 5 (05:53):
It was the other two officers hitting them, but they
should have stopped them. So only thing they're guilty of
us not stopping them. But they didn't assault until they
didn't actually do They didn't actually do it, So that's crazy.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Man.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
Well, it needs to be some justice somewhere, and I.

Speaker 5 (06:07):
Hope, I hope those three guys have got to quit.
It can't be police officers anymore.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Absolutely for you to stand there and even watch that happens. Crazy.

Speaker 8 (06:14):
And here's something I don't know, Zacharyn, how y'all feel
about this, but I might actually.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
Have to do this one. What's that?

Speaker 4 (06:20):
Man?

Speaker 5 (06:20):
They building a Disney World and Abu Dobby. Now that's
gonna be lit. Now you know everybody always run over
the Abu Dhabi anyway. You know they want to go
over there and ride on the camels and Disney World
over there. It's gonna be crazy.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
They're gonna have all types of rides.

Speaker 5 (06:37):
I might have to do that with make he gonna
ride it with you, Aladdin, gonna be crazy over there, all. Yeah,
you can really ride. Hey, I might have to do
that with bad Go to w g C I for
these stories and more coming up. Leon's locker room blowout
last night. I'll let you know who got blown out
the GCI What you say, one seven five w GC

(06:59):
I the shots.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
Number one for hip hop and R and B.

Speaker 5 (07:02):
NBA was fantastic last night, but there's a star who'll
never get the respect he deserves.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
Just playing like trash.

Speaker 5 (07:14):
NBA ads was fantastic last night, but some of your
star players weren't.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Let's get the blowout out of the way.

Speaker 5 (07:20):
The Oklahoma City Thunder bounce back and they whooped the
Nuggets one forty nine to one. Six hung over point
loss on the Nuggets.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
That's embarrassing.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
I don't know what happened to them. I looked up
at the score.

Speaker 5 (07:38):
I said, never must have went out drinking the night before.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
They celebrate that win.

Speaker 8 (07:43):
That s it was just tie one to one, and
then in the shocking fashion, the Knicks take two games
and Boston.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
This game came down to the last second.

Speaker 5 (07:53):
Jason Tatum, who I think is a good player, but
I don't think he's an eleast star.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
He proved it.

Speaker 5 (07:59):
I mean he can't down and dribbled right into a
double team. Michal Bridges with the steel Knicks get to
war ninety one to ninety headed back to Madison Square God, now, Zak,
I'm gonna Actually it's Boston in trouble.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
Yes, really, yes, in trouble.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
They gotta go. They gotta get this.

Speaker 6 (08:16):
I didn't think New York was gonna win another game.
I thought it was a flute game.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Really, and then they did it again in Boston.

Speaker 6 (08:22):
Now they're gonna gett ready to go to New York
with all the energy and energy Boston has to win
Game three, have to.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
If they don't win Game three, it's.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
I think they gotta win, get both of them in
New York. Yeah, yeah, Now, I.

Speaker 5 (08:34):
Don't think they can play around and just get one.
They gotta win both.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Let me ask you this.

Speaker 6 (08:40):
You know that's a championship team. If they get swept
or gentleman sweep, do you blow it up?

Speaker 7 (08:45):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Yeah, I think you.

Speaker 5 (08:46):
I think you gotta find somebody well or you just
get you add a piece, but get rid of somebody
like Porzingis who ain't been doing nothing. Warriors and Timberwolves tonight.
Now watch this, Zach. You're not gonna like this at all.
And I don't think it would add to his legacy
if this happens. So apparently Lebron James is working something
they're eye in trying to grab Giannis and Tennecoumpo and

(09:10):
Kevin Durant for next year. Now, I know you're saying,
how they gonna do this, Leon, Well, gim Rob Perlink
is thinking about it, thinking about making a big splash.
So the Lakers have more than half of their salary
cap tied to Lebron James and Luca Donnis, who'll do
fifty two million for Lebron player option and forty six
million for Luca. Now, they said if they added Ana Kumpo,

(09:33):
who has a cap hit of fifty four million, and Durant,
who has a cap hit of fifty one million, the
team would go into the luxury.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Tax, so you know they can pay over.

Speaker 5 (09:42):
But they said, if James declines this player option and
then signs a team friendly deal, they could pull it off.
They can make it happen where all of them will
be on the team together. I personally wouldn't like this
for Lebron. They think it would really diminish your legacy
and you become probably like the fourth best player on
your team.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
Not gonna happen.

Speaker 6 (10:02):
That's not gonna happen. Every year this Lakers, every year,
the biggest free agent is going.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
To the Lakers. Sooms the Lakers lose, they'd be like, okay, recoming,
this person's coming up in the Z spot.

Speaker 6 (10:11):
Man, a man coming up in the Z Spot. I
got a DD trial update for you, brother, don't move.

Speaker 5 (10:25):
One O seven five w GC out of shoes number
one for hip hop and m B.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
Brother, buog, what's coming up in the Z spot?

Speaker 6 (10:32):
Do you remember those draws I prayed about? Come on, man, well,
Louis v time put out a statement about him.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
I'll tell you about.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
What's that?

Speaker 6 (10:41):
One O seven five w GC out of shots number
one for hip hop and R and B is your
boys act book, and let's jump into it, your Z
Spot Entertainment report. Let's pop it off with a quick
Smokey Robinson. Did you hear about Smokey Robinson. Smokey Robinson's
being a suit for alleged sexual assault and battery by

(11:03):
former employee.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
Now he's being he's being.

Speaker 6 (11:06):
Super sexual assault filed by four former housekeepers.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Okay, and he has responded to this.

Speaker 6 (11:12):
He said it's filled with lies and purely designed to
squeeze money out of the Motown legend himself.

Speaker 5 (11:19):
His last album was called Gasms as an orgasms.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
So Smoky freak. Wow, that's something that's crazy.

Speaker 6 (11:27):
But yeah, he's being he's been accused of sexual assault.
His attorney is firing back, taking a form and saying
that this is a shakedown and they just trying to
get money out of Smoky Robinson. I don't like to
judge these things from just headlines neither. I like to
see the facts. I like to see when things roll out,
and then I'll make a decision. As of right now,
I'm just like, what's going on?

Speaker 1 (11:49):
Very interesting?

Speaker 5 (11:50):
Yeah, and he said his wife was uh, they said
his wife was got put in a lawsuit too because
she watched.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
I ain't say nothing she.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Allowed it, didn't.

Speaker 6 (12:00):
Smoky Robers come out with that song was like gang banging,
smoking that smoke, doing that dude.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
I hated that.

Speaker 5 (12:11):
Yeah, but he's his last album is called Gasms. Gang
Bangs stood on stage and say I'm gonna get y'all
gasms at eight and take this sea Alex real quick.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
That's kind of disgusting.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Grind the tears of a clown right now though, And
I will say.

Speaker 5 (12:30):
This, granddaddy's and grandma's across the country. I disappointed right
now with smoking smoking man. I remember when we.

Speaker 2 (12:38):

Speaker 1 (12:41):
Gotta be like eighty one eighty two.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
Easy, sheesh, all right.

Speaker 6 (12:46):
Also, man, Louis Bitam released the statement regarding Lisa's met
Gala outfit. Now, this lady received a lot of backlash.
I prayed about it. Remember, I prayed about her because
I felt like she had Rosa Parks right on the underwear,
on the private parts. It's very very very disrespectful and
basically even time just basically talked about who designed it

(13:07):
and it was for for real, and tried to put
some historical content to it. Let me tell you something, man,
when it's on your crotch, he shouldn't. It's just some
way you shouldn't put historical figures and next to you nowhere,
next to.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
Your booty hole, well depends six h Now, it wasn't.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
It wasn't on the.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Booty whole, right, So I can't say that word. Okay,
Well I gotta go now.

To help you out with, make sure you hit up
at Ryan Medialy on Instagram and he'll he'll send it
to us. All right, dear Leon and Zach. Here's the deal.
A female Okay, Wow, here's the deal. A female coworker
needed help moving and I got a truck, so I

(16:43):
helped out. No funny business, just trying to be a
good dude. What I didn't know is my girl came
by my job to surprise me with lunch, and one
of my hating coworkers told her I was out.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
Helping that same girl.

Speaker 6 (16:59):
Now she drove by and saw my truck outside the
girl's apartment at night, and now she swears I'm creeping.
I told her everything showed the text, nothing shady, but
she ain't trying to hear, won't return my calls and
told me to never hit her up again.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
I love her for real, but she ain't trusting me
right now?

Speaker 6 (17:19):
What am I supposed to do when she already made
up her mind and I ain't even do nothing?

Speaker 1 (17:24):
It's ease, helped me out, It's easy. A six, six, aight,
A five one seventy five?

Speaker 2 (17:31):
Hit us up?

Speaker 1 (17:34):
Squabblep squabble up?

Speaker 2 (17:36):
G C.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
Who is what are you check it in from?

Speaker 5 (17:40):
Boy?

Speaker 2 (17:40):
This toy from the south side?

Speaker 1 (17:41):
Toy from the south side? How are you love?

Speaker 6 (17:44):
I'm fine? Now, are you darling?

Speaker 1 (17:46):
Good and good?

Speaker 4 (17:47):
That's good.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
Listen.

Speaker 7 (17:49):
He should have ran it by her.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
Because you just never know who might see you. You
know what I'm saying, You should have ran it by her.

Speaker 10 (17:55):
I wouldn't believe them either.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
I'm sitting here listening to y'all. I'm like, yeah, you
hit him.

Speaker 5 (18:02):
Oh my god, this brother just can't be noble and chivalrous.
Women gonna say that, but toy nor if that was
her work? Husband like, oh, I got you toy. Now
we know it's nothing. He just came and help me.
No girl, bye, get out for a six six eighty

(18:25):
five one o seven five.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
Continue to hit this up.

Speaker 5 (18:27):
She shouts gotta shots number one for hire, popping R
and B with smack dab in the middle of love
him or leave him? Got a uh yeah, case of
creeping or just nobody believes me.

Speaker 6 (18:43):
Guy wrote in basically said he helped his coworker move.
His girl showed up to his job surprising with some lunch.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
He wasn't there.

Speaker 6 (18:49):
He was helping the coworker move. She saw his car
her crib thought that they was creeping around. He was like, no, look,
show the text messages and everything, and she ain't trying
to hear one, return his phone calls or nothing. So
he wants to know what he should do.

Speaker 5 (19:04):
A six six eighty five one o seven five. Let's
go to the phone lines. Who this where you check
it in.

Speaker 3 (19:08):
From thread from the south Side, hang out doing birs, Bryan,
don't be giving dirty up because you mess like a
chop for like two weeks. But yeah, I wouldn't if
I wouldn't be stressed him because he didn't go hang
out with the girl or help her move without saying nothing,
and like if he didn't want it to be no problems,

(19:28):
begin said something to his girl in the first place,
because probably part of the reason why she's in and
feels like she can't trust him this because she was
trying to do something like himself friding him and like
he wasn't there so that she might come back around.
But if they do end up getting back together, he
gotta be a little more transpl.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
Okay, thanks for your call, tough crowd today.

Speaker 6 (19:49):
Man, it's only one thing you can do in this situation. Leon,
It's only one thing you can do. What's that She
don't believe you, so you gotta make her believe you. You
gotta go ahead and have.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
Sex with the girl. Yeah, make it worth it. Here's
my guy to at this point.

Speaker 5 (20:03):
She wouldn't got mad if the woman is ugly. The
woman must be cute, because if the woman was ugly,
she wouldn't care. She's okay, but the woman cute, so
you know, yeah, like, if I'm getting in trouble, I
might as well get in trouble for it.

Speaker 6 (20:15):
You gotta do that if you're gonna do it, If
you're gonna have to do the time, you know, just
trying to do the crash.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
Right, Yeah, you're gonna put me behind bars anyway.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
Let me get locked up for a read.

Speaker 10 (20:24):
How are y'all not addressing though, that he bocus for
what I was being a gentleman for helping them move?

Speaker 2 (20:31):
Okay, he just help.

Speaker 6 (20:33):
No, I'm just asking now. I want to know your perspective.
Go ahead, brother, y'all think you just helped move? Yeah,
I don't think he did nothing.

Speaker 2 (20:41):
Lean.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
I'm not gonna ask.

Speaker 10 (20:42):
You because you are married, faithful, married family man that
got through.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
Let's just take that.

Speaker 2 (20:51):
Man at you for try giving me back what You
just helping somebody move and you're not doing nothing for
me personally, I don't help nobody move.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
No, no, no, soul. Let's say you were in this case.

Speaker 10 (21:03):
You're telling me you just helping somebody move and you
not doing nothing else.

Speaker 6 (21:08):
No, if it's just if I'm just helping the move,
I'm just helping to move. Why why can't I just
move the couch like she asked for some help. I
got a truck. You know, people have trucks all the time.
They be like, can you help me move this?

Speaker 1 (21:19):
You do?

Speaker 7 (21:19):
This?

Speaker 2 (21:20):
Is that you forget.

Speaker 10 (21:21):
We all know the side of these four walls, and
we know I believe you'll help her move, Bro, I
will help her move, but also believe.

Speaker 1 (21:29):
You'll help her test the furniture.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
Listen, my thing is this y'all even know that's an
option for a woman. She might not want him.

Speaker 5 (21:36):
If a woman called her work husband help her move,
would nothing be said? Oh yeah, because you know, but
time of guy do something chivalrous. He gotta automatically be cheating.
I don't think that's fair.

Speaker 6 (21:46):
How do y'all know this other woman won't him because
we're just because you help somebody. She may have just
saw he had a truck and needed.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
She asked anybody else. I don't know who she is
moving company?

Speaker 2 (21:58):
Right?

Speaker 1 (21:59):
Those are expense Well?

Speaker 5 (22:00):
How okay, how about you got a truck, but that's
still just one guy. You need more than one person
you move. But did she really.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
Sit on the late name?

Speaker 1 (22:11):
He let me hear you move late? We hope we
helped you with If we didn't, we.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
Never do you want to get pizza afterwards?

Speaker 1 (22:20):
Hey? What up your boy? Talking?

Speaker 4 (22:22):
Paul?

Speaker 5 (22:22):
Here with my favorite person of the world, A people
wanting her the truck break and we're talking to some
real people. Be Man coming up Leon's goofy ass person
of the day. Hey, Tennessee, Man, y'all got this wrong. Man,
y'all got it wrong. One O seven five W Show

(22:45):
is number one for hip hopping on be coming up
Leon's goofy ass person the other day. Nah man, Nah
them three gotta pay two off.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
Mike check one so one soof.

Speaker 5 (23:02):
A right, it's that time of the day that everybody loves.
One person's gonna be absolutely pissed. It's Leon's goofy ass
person the other day. Hey man, I can't believe it. Man,
I think Memphis courts dropped the ball in this one.
Three former Memphis officers were acquitted in the beaten death
of Tyree Nichols. Of course, as you know, Tyree Nichols
in twenty twenty three got pulled over boy some cops.

(23:25):
He realized who one of the cops was and that
they was out to get him, and he took off.
They caught up with a man and then on their
body cameras. Man, you see two of the cops just
working him over. I'm talking about hitting them all in
the head with night sticks and everything. While the other
three cops.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
Watch.

Speaker 5 (23:39):
Now, the three cops that watch, they got to quit
it of murder or whatever, and they basically walking free.
I just think Memphis Court dropped the ball on this.
They should have to go to jail for something. Because
when you're an officer of the law, you're a peace officer.
It's your job to protect and serve. And they failed
that man by not protecting him by those other two

(24:00):
officers and whopping like that. They gotta say, hey, man, no,
brother y'all can't do this now, I get it. Band
the brothers, You're not gonna arrest your fellow officers. But
at the same time, you gotta stop him. You gotta
at least stop him man, y'all let him beat the boy.
And then when the ambulance came, y'all didn't really tell
them what his injuries was. Y'all just like he messed up.

(24:20):
Take him away, not we've been hitting him in the
head with nightsticks for the past ten minutes. So I
just feel like Memphis court system let this young man down,
let his family die, and those three officers they should
never be allowed to wear a badge again. Ever, they
should never be allowed to on a gun or wear
a badge for what they sat there and watched and

(24:42):
allow that. And that message go out to all my
brothers and sisters out there that as police officers, man,
you see something, say something, that's what y'all tell us
to do. So if you got one of your little
officer buddies that be abusing his privileges, man, get on
his ass, make him stop.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
Maybe that'll help it out.

Speaker 9 (24:59):
Man.

Speaker 5 (24:59):
But for that Memphis court system man, those three officers
that gotta quit it, y'all. Shit, y'all, goofy your ass downy.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
GC.

Speaker 6 (25:11):
I have you seen that new movie trailer? Have y'all
seen the trailer? It's really dope.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
Man.

Speaker 6 (25:19):
Looks like Denzel Washington and Spike Lee got a new
one coming out with asap Rocky. The movie is called
Highest to Lowest. Okay, the trailer dropped earlier this week.
Asap Rocky, Denzel Washington, I, Spice, Jeffrey Wright are all
in this movie and it's directed.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
By Spike Lee.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
I think this is gonna be the smash of the summer. Well,
it's a it's a.

Speaker 5 (25:47):
Spike Lee is known for doing reinterpretations of old classic
movie So the reinterpretations of a Kirokurosawa movie. It's an
old Japanese movie, just like he did Old Boy.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
He did a remake of that.

Speaker 5 (26:00):
So Spike usually don't miss when he do the interpretations,
like he put the black stink on it in a
Japanese movie, but he put the season.

Speaker 1 (26:08):
What you say you put some CS on it? Yes,
he did. I can't wait to see it either. It
looks awesome.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
Well, here's the storyline.

Speaker 6 (26:15):
It says Washington plays a music mogul who gets caught
in a ransom scheme, forcing him to choose between his
goals and humanity. Asap Rocky plays an inspiring rapper named
Young Fion who hopes to be noticed by Washington's character.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
That's all they gave us.

Speaker 5 (26:28):
Yeah, so just like I said the same premise. What
wasn't a rapper though, but kind of like saying some
stink on the season?

Speaker 1 (26:35):
Is some stink on it? High and low? That was
the name of the And.

Speaker 6 (26:38):
It's gonna come out in theaters and on Apple TV.
I'm going s in theaters August twenty second, and it's
gonna be on Apple TV in September. Okay, yeah, so
we gotta wait Towards the end of the Well. I'm
gonna see that one later the summer.

Speaker 5 (26:51):
Man, I can go check that one in the theater, imax.
I need to sound all that.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
And you know, just the.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
Fifth time that Spike, Lee and Dizzel don't work together.

Speaker 5 (26:58):
And what it did together. This is the first of
the four movies. He said he had left me, said
he got full left and he out the games. This
is this one, Black Black Panther, three, Macbeth and King Lear.
He's doing their last two. He doing some like Shakespearean stuff.

Speaker 1 (27:13):
Victory laugh.

Speaker 6 (27:14):
Yeah, there it is, man, These stories and more you
can hit over the w g C I dot com
and and and you know what, we got a super
dope interview on the way.

Speaker 2 (27:24):
A man Carl Payne Cole from Martin.

Speaker 6 (27:27):
Yes, Kryl Pain, He's he's checking in with with the
morning show.

Speaker 1 (27:30):
It's g C I.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
Hold on, you get.

Speaker 5 (27:35):
Paid right here with me one on seven five w
GC shots number one for hippopp and R and B. Hey, listen, man,
we love it when royalty fault. Yes, sir, And I'm
not talking about you, Zach. I'm definitely not talking about Ryan.
I'm not even talking about myself. Man, Brother Carl Payne
and yeah, and now y'all know, yeah Martin cock Roads

(27:58):
on the cos We show, you'd have.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
Done it all?

Speaker 1 (28:01):
Man, how you doing, sir good?

Speaker 2 (28:02):
Sir good?

Speaker 1 (28:03):
What brings you to our lovely city of Chicago?

Speaker 5 (28:05):
Man?

Speaker 11 (28:06):
First of all, this beautiful morning here, Yes for today,
got a show coming to town I directed and starting
in right now called Games Women Play. Okay, I mean,
I'm sure this is a topic we all know about.
You know, it could be called you know, the lies
they tell, whatever you want to call it. It's all
about games women play, and it really should be called
games everybody played, But this one is told from a

(28:27):
different perspective. It's gonna be at the Airy Crown Sadday.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (28:31):
You know two shows oneted three, one of eight.

Speaker 5 (28:33):
All right, let's talk about the cast members, man, because
this is a very powerful cast. Yeah, yeah, doing this thing.
What was it like working with this diversal rad characters? Man, Jill,
you got Claudia out there? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (28:47):
It was great, man, it was great.

Speaker 11 (28:49):
It was Actually I was a little nervous at first,
because you know, you know, you never know what you're
gonna get, right, like Forrest Gump said, you know, yes,
But it turned out to be a great experience. Actually,
you know, I mean I definitely had to play doctor
Phil you know what I mean well in terms of like,
you know, being but that's a director's job, right You
got to navigate a lot of different personalities and different

(29:10):
ways of working in styles and things of that nature.
But it was a mutual respect I think that was
given that allowed us to get to a place of greatness.

Speaker 6 (29:18):
Now with you taking this play on the road, you
know y'all are doing this nationwide, right, Yeah, different audiences
have different experiences based off where the you know, the location.

Speaker 11 (29:29):
Does that change absolutely that you perform you know, no, no, no, no,
we do our show. Our show is our show. But
I have I will say this it is I have
invited the interactive aspect of it, and it can get
a little depending on where you are, like you said,
but it also has to do with their own personal
experiences too, right, So like if you've seen something on

(29:50):
stage that you can relate to, or that you're going
through right now, or that you've have been through, it's
gonna trigger you a little differently. Yeah, yeah, you know
what I'm saying. And that's when we know we're doing
our job. Is when you got somebody who can't hold
it in. Yeah, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
That's that's where you know.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
You didn't any right?

Speaker 5 (30:12):
No, hey man, more with my man Karl Pain right
here on one O seven five w g C.

Speaker 1 (30:17):
I stay tuned one O seven five w g C.

Speaker 5 (30:45):
I Sho is number one for hip hop and R
and B Live with us today, my man Karl Pain
in studio. What's happening, bro Let's get back to you, man,
because you've had a very great career.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
And still continue to shine.

Speaker 5 (30:56):
But you've also played iconic characters in Black households. When
you see you cold, you know, for Carl Pay like
you do you embrace that? Or do sometimes you be like, hey,
there's more to me than just those two characters.

Speaker 11 (31:10):
Both okay, both I embrace it and that as well.
Obviously people will get to see me in a different
light in this show. I've done a lot of different
things on television. I mean, I just finished five seasons
of playing a dad on a kid show on Nickelodeon.
But when you you know, unfortunate, fortunately and unfortunately right,
when you do something that resonates people remember you by

(31:32):
it's a blessing. Yeah, I mean because you made an impact,
You've left an impact. So for that I'm ever thankful,
forever blessed to be a part of. But it's just
one step on the journey.

Speaker 6 (31:42):
Yeah, I really just think it's with your role in
Martin as Cole and the way that Martin still played regularly,
it's almost like it never went away, you know what
I'm saying. It's not you never had that chance for
the show to go away, and then you you're like,
oh you remember that. No, it's on Netflix right now.
I can go watch you on BT's.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
Only wanted you want to Cold to have its own show,
like man Cold.

Speaker 11 (32:04):
Me to show what's coming. That's coming, that's coming. My
own show is coming for sure. But away from that, Okay,
away from that, you see what I'm saying, because you know,
you have your things that tie you to things you
know or tell you or whatever. But it's also it's
just a stepping stone, so to speak, to the next
level because at the end of the day, Okay, I'm
not gonna be Cold forever some people's minds, for sure,

(32:27):
But there's more to Carl Pain I got.

Speaker 1 (32:29):
I gotta put you on the spot.

Speaker 5 (32:30):
Man, because you were in both on the cosmic show
Mark the greatest Black sitcom all time?

Speaker 2 (32:36):
For what reason? Be more specific.

Speaker 5 (32:40):
That is, okay, overall entertainment value, which one was the
best one?

Speaker 2 (32:47):
Overall entertainment value? Entertainment value Mark, you said entertainment.

Speaker 6 (32:53):
Okay, what about Impact Cosmys because because of what it
stood for, because of the.

Speaker 11 (33:01):
Things that happened after that, I mean sure, I think
I think impact We may have impacted the culture in
terms of like relatability, fashion and different things like that.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
You know what I'm saying. But to have a whole generation.

Speaker 11 (33:14):
That now goes to HBCUs, to have an old generation
of people who are like, no, I'm going to be
a doctor, I'm gonna be a lawyer, who have now
become that, who are now doing those type of things
because they finally saw something on TV that wasn't represented,
that always existed.

Speaker 5 (33:29):
I would let people know that it was okay to
tease somebody at the Circus Burger on the back of
the bus.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
I don't want to do that.

Speaker 10 (33:40):
I don't want to bring you back to Martin really quick,
because that is one of my favorite black sitcoms. And
you guys all reunited at the Emmys last year. Yeah,
how is it when the cast gets back together? Because
we feel like I was wild.

Speaker 11 (33:53):
Y'all were family, so this particular, so the skit that
you saw was something that I had came up with
the you saw in the Jimmans, and it was really
like because we hadn't seen each other in a long time,
and you know, it was interesting because we fell right
back in like we had never left.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
And it was almost like especially when.

Speaker 11 (34:12):
We were doing the reunion, because the reunion was like
a two to three day situation and I was like, damn,
were about to do this again, you know, but it
was It was good. It was good for the culture,
It was good for the people, It was good for
the closure. It was good for a lot of a
lot of different reasons, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (34:28):
To to have that moment, yeah, that was real nice.
It was special.

Speaker 6 (34:31):
Yeah, it's really inspiring to see you guys still working individually,
you know what I'm saying, to come because you got
to think when the Mind come out thirty years ago,
but to see you out here working doing your own thing,
you know, creating plays, creating opportunities for others in the industry, yeah,
people look just like you. I think that's that's a
testament to just you guys as a cast.

Speaker 11 (34:49):
Well, I think I think that's the thing that I
was talking about. People pigeonhole you. You don't pigeonhole yourself. People
want to just see you. And it's the same thing
on the same spot all the time. It's like again,
just to stop on. It was a stop on on
the journey exit twelve.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
Yes, sir, yes, sir.

Speaker 5 (35:04):
Marre with my main man Carl Pain, were talking everything
right here on one O seven five w GC, I
come on back kick it with us.

Speaker 9 (35:11):
I see dad. People they not like us, They not
like us, They not like us.

Speaker 5 (35:22):
One on seven five w GC I the shots number
one for here Popping R and B, Leon Rodgers, Zach Bug,
Big Ryan on the Boys. Today in studio we got
with us Man Black Icon, Household legend man or man
Karl Pain from Martin. A question that I want to
ask you, man, who are some of your muses?

Speaker 1 (35:39):
Like who do you look.

Speaker 5 (35:40):
When when writing or you know, when writing and getting
in that space. Just who are some of your muses
that you look through throughout time.

Speaker 1 (35:48):
Even when you were on Martin and Cosby and stuff
like that.

Speaker 11 (35:51):
Interesting, that's a good, good question because I really I
had a lot of inspiration growing up. Okay, if that's
what you mean, But now now it's it's it's all
coming from personal. Like like you said, when you're going
on stage, can nobody tell you a story better than you?
So my my my muses, me, my family, my my

(36:11):
everyday life.

Speaker 1 (36:12):
Like your experience.

Speaker 2 (36:13):
Yeah, my experiences.

Speaker 11 (36:15):
That's that's where I write from, which is the truth
it comes from because it's yours.

Speaker 2 (36:20):
Can't nobody You know what I mean?

Speaker 11 (36:22):
Now now as a as an actor, as somebody who's
soaked up a lot over the years, I've definitely taken
bits and pieces from and you know, on my journey,
like things I've learned from this personal things I've learned
or things I watch because everybody steals in terms of
and I don't mean material, I meant like.

Speaker 5 (36:40):
Elements from a person to help you build yourself exactly.

Speaker 11 (36:44):
If you don't, if you don't watch the greats and
take and learn from them, then you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
Not a young guys take Mama mentality from him. So
it all it bleeds out to well.

Speaker 2 (36:56):
It's going down y'all. Yeah, games, yeah, going down.

Speaker 11 (37:00):
We've got to show we say it was two shows
on Saturday, Saturday, every crown wanted.

Speaker 2 (37:05):
I believe three, three and but you know, check to
check the website.

Speaker 1 (37:08):
We know you're right. Three and eight.

Speaker 2 (37:09):
Okay, three and eight and he and you.

Speaker 5 (37:11):
You're talking about interactive Chicago gonna get you interactor.

Speaker 2 (37:14):
I don't know why they do nowhere else. Let me
tell you right now. Become a therapy session, I will
tell you right now.

Speaker 1 (37:19):
And it is therapy for some folks.

Speaker 2 (37:21):
It is definitely gonna be some therapy for something. Detroit
showed up and showed out.

Speaker 11 (37:25):
Oh my god, yeah, man, man, oh man. So I'm
looking forward to Chicago. Man, I'm looking you know, Chicago's
always showed me love when I came through.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
They definitely is.

Speaker 5 (37:38):
One thing, one thing before you get out of here
that you would love to say to aspiring scriptwriters, actors,
or people who just want to be in the space
that you're in. What type of beneficial information could you
give to them to inspire them or keep their dreams live?

Speaker 2 (37:53):
Do it?

Speaker 11 (37:53):
Stop thinking about it, just do just do you know
if you write every day right, you know, whatever it
is that you do, do it, stop waiting on somebody
else to tell you how to do it.

Speaker 2 (38:02):
Figure it out.

Speaker 11 (38:03):
You know what I'm saying that now we have so
many more opportunities than when I came up, so many
more ways of making your dream come true. I mean,
there was no such thing as Internet, There was no
such thing as YouTube, there was no such thing in
social media, there was none.

Speaker 1 (38:19):
Of these tools. Hey, I oh my god, like you got.

Speaker 11 (38:22):
Everybody out here has so much at their access at there,
there's there's there's no reason and you can cut out middleman.
There's so many, there's so many. You know, if this,
if this was the drug.

Speaker 2 (38:35):
Game, listen, let me tell you something something.

Speaker 11 (38:44):
So yeah, yeah, just you know, you know what I'm saying,
protect your neck and stay hungry.

Speaker 1 (38:49):
Reference I'll hear that, right yeah. Yeah.
