Speaker 1 (00:01):
One seven five GC out of shots number one fIF
hoping RnB is you boy zach bug and let's jump
into it your z spot Entertainment Report. Let's pop it
off with Drake all right now, listen, man, I don't
know what's going on with Drake, but Drake basically is
taking legal action against Universal Music Group and Spotify, alleging

(00:23):
that the companies conspired against him to artificially inflate the
popularity of Kendrick Lamar's Not Like Us. He said, I
guess I'm saying that they put their powers together UMG
and Spotify to inflate the popularity of Not Like Us. Now,
this is when I initially saw this. I said, Drake,

(00:43):
you are going out sad. This is a terrible way
to go out when you're sitting there talking and you
lose a rap bottle. Now you're saying that they don't
put the bots on you and inflated the song to
make it bigger than what it is. Let me tell
you something. That song is just a hit record, Drake.
I'm sorry, It's just a hit rap all right. So
initially when I heard this news last night, I see it,

(01:04):
I was like, I cannot wait to get on the
radio this morning and go in on Drake. I said
that initially, but then you know, I had to do
a little bit more research. Okay, So here is why
he's upset, all right, Drake is feeling I'm not agreeing,
but it helps explain his side a little bit better. Okay.

(01:26):
So they're not filing the suit because of not like
us the song, all right. They're saying it's bigger than
just the song, which is why Drake is suing the
label and not Kendrick. All Right. He feels that UMG,
to which who he is signed to. You got to
understand that he's signed to UMG as well as Kendrick Lamar.

(01:49):
That he's saying that they're using the money that he's
made to fund Kendrick Lamar's song to basically bury him.
You know what I'm saying, basically saying the song is
burying him and they're using funds to pump that song
out while he's in the midst of label negotiations. So
basically what he's saying is, while he is negotiating his

(02:12):
new terms to his contract, he's feeling like UMG is
inflating this song to make his value go down. So
he won't be able to get as big as a contract. Now, Brian,
quit looking like that, And I'm gonna tell you, I
don't think he has a point. No, what UMG is

(02:32):
doing is pushing their other artist who has a hit record.
It's just the fact that I'm sorry that the hit
record is about you. I don't think that purposely inflating
the song to make your value go down. It just
so happened that they're promoting both artists like they've been
doing exactly.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
We know how business works.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
What you mean, So you think that they're using that
they're inflating the song to make his value go down.
He's saying that since he's in the midst of this contract.
Oh you know, y'all try to make me as bad,
so y'all have to pay me as much.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Money if you did not tell me that he was
in the midst of contract.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
And that's but that's what that's what they're saying.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
That's a big part of it.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Yes, But if i'm you MG, no, I'm just promoting
my other artists to the fullest so I can get
all out of the song that he put out. I'm
making money off. That's a great answer. You lost the
battles to them.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
If we weren't trying to figure out my new contract,
then I wouldn't say I would say, Drake, shut up.
But now knowing that pace to it.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
No, you cannot let me take something when you lose
a rap battle to way you.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Can take take the rap battle, I can't, yes, take
the rap battle out. That's what it's all about politics.
He knows what they could be doing to downplay him.
So why he's saying I need this amount of money.
They can say no, because you're not worth that no
more because of Kendrick. Why am I not worth that?
Because you took money to pump a song, so you
ain't got to pay me that It could be true

(03:54):
to two things could be true. Let me tell you
something exactly. And the two things that are true is
the song was so good that that it damaged you.
And I'm just promoting the song. It did give you
a hit, but it took a hit. But Drake, you're
not getting ready. It's not You're not gonna take a fall.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
You are still the number one streaming artist on Spotify.
You know what I'm saying. You just don't like that
You're getting your ass look, and you're looking bad out here.
You're out here dancing and hanging out with Omarri and
Mario looking with He's not what he was he was.
He danced battling him in a big jersey. He's showing
that the random parties. He's staring at basketball players like

(04:34):
he's gonna beat him up.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
He's straight.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
Is clearly going yeah here streaming with random dudes. He
ain't even streaming with kysannat. He found some random to
stream with where they look like they just looking at
the screen. They ain't having no fun. I don't know
what he's going through, but stop it, stop it. This
is the weakest way to lose the rap battle. Well,
I'm gonna suit because y'all pushing the song to me.

(04:57):
I think it's stop. I think it's whack.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
I'm be clear. Is that can say? I think it's whack.
But now that you explained it, I could see the other.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Side, all right.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
I don't know what y'all.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
Tell me, what y'all think. I think it's possible A
six six eight, A five one on seven five, let's
do this. You need to call future that can help them.
It's g SI.
