Speaker 1 (00:53):
Now, let's head to the stadium for more coverage of
Opelikah High School football alongside legendary coach Spence McCracken, mac
McCracken and Jason Lee. Here's the voice of the Bulldogs,
Van Riggs.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Welcandeenian Bulldog Nation and welcome to a night that's been
a century in the maken Live for the Friendly Confines
Bulldog Stadium. This is the one hundred meeting between these
two proud programs, two passionate communities, and one of the
fiercest rivalries in all of high school football, the Opalaika
Bulldogs and the Auburn High Tigers. And since nineteen seventeen,
these two teams have battle for bragging rights, pride, and
(01:31):
playoff dreams. From Auburt's fifty seven to nothing win in
the very first meeting to Opelika's dominant nine game winning
streak from ninety six to two thousand and four, this
rivalry has seen it all, heartbreak, heroics, unforgettable moments, and
tonight it adds another chapter to the story. Auburn comes
in looking to bounce back from a lopsided forty two
to fourteen loss at Vestavia Hills last week. That was
(01:54):
their first regular season of feat since October twentieth of
twenty twenty three.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
But don't let that fool you.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Tigers have won five straight against these Opelika Bulldogs, including
last year's twenty eight twenty one thriller, and they're looking
to try to keep that streak alive.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Tonight.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
Opelika enters two and oh after back to back comeback
wins to open up the season. Opel Like It Comes
and also ranked number seven in the state and Class
seven eight at Coach Bryan Moore, now in his second season,
is chasing his first win against the Tigers, and there's
no better stage to do it than this one tonight.
Hope like a Bulldog's battle tested, ready to defend their
home turf in front of a sellout pat crowd and
(02:30):
all eyes around the state here on Bulldog Stadium on
this Thursday night. It's Ope I can Auburn for the
one hundredth time. And you're listening to every moment, all
the action right here on ninety seven point seven Kicker FM.
So buckle up, folks, gonna be a night to remember tonight.
Welcome in Coach Vince McCracken and coach I know you're
jacked up and ready for this one, aren't you.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
Yeah, sure, am man.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
I was just thinking back to nineteen ninety five when
we played them and came from Robert E. Lee and
I didn't know anything about Auburn or Opeli, like nothing
except where they were located.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
And then I played college football at Auburn, and.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
So I got to find out real quick about Auburn
football over like a football valley football, and how many
enemies we had up here.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
So anyway, Yeah, it's been a great rivalry.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
Bill McCall first coach up there when I went against him,
and then his son, His son coached, and just a
great group of players on both sides, and we were
fortunate we lost that first year, but we won the
next seven.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
And uh, I think you only lost him twice, coach,
Is that right?
Speaker 4 (03:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (03:42):
I think so. Yeah, I think so.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
A great run you had against them. But I tell you,
so much has changed in this area here in Lee County.
The area has saw as seen the Auburn community just
to blow up and the size of the high school
blow up. A new high school was built, and they're
ready to split into two high schools. So we really
don't know how much the rivalry will last in the
state that it's currently in when the series splits into
two high schools in Auburn. So very important, and I
(04:06):
know Opalika fans are excited because this is an opportunity
to end this five game winning streak. But we look
back at the past two times these teams have met,
Opelikah had fourth quarter leads, and both of them last
year Bulldogs are leading twenty one to fourteen in the
fourth quarter. Auburn came back to win at twenty eight
twenty one. The last time here at Bulldog Stadium. Probably
one of the most difficult ones to swallow because the
(04:26):
Opelika Bulldogs, they control the game really from start till
about four minutes left in the game. Opelikah had a
thirteen point lead with four to go, and it was
coach Keith Erich and his team that made the plays
down the stretch, scored two touchdowns and ended up putting
through the game winning extra point and won at thirty
one to thirty. So we know it's tight. This game's
always a good one. The last three of these have
been decided by ten points or less, and well, the
(04:49):
last say three of the five have been decided by
ten points or less. And it's going to be a
sellout pack crowd. Both sides have just about filled up
and we're still just about twenty five twenty. Well, the
game's gonna kick off about sevent ten, so we're still
about thirty minutes away from kickoff here in Bulldog Stadium.
We'll take a quick time out though the pregame show
(05:10):
presented by our friends at Frederick Dean Funeral Home. And
when we come back, we're gonna have a pre game
visit with a Bulldog head coach. That's Brian Moore on
the way next right here on the kicker.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
Now, it's time for a pregame visit with Open Lanka
head football coach Brian Moore, presented by South State Bank.
Now with coach, here's Van Riggs.
Speaker 5 (05:28):
All right, coach.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
Following the win last week, you said the team had
a lot to work on still too, and oh though,
and how's the week of practice been getting ready for
this big rivalry game?
Speaker 5 (05:36):
By far our best week. It's been a weird prep.
Speaker 6 (05:39):
We came in on Saturday and lifted and then had
our first practice on Sunday with a Thursday game. So
you know, I feel like we got more film time
with the holiday, and you know, we're excited to use that.
Speaker 5 (05:50):
Hopefully it settles us down a.
Speaker 6 (05:52):
Little bit and we get a little bit more comfortable
because we were really out of sorts against callaway back
in wise, penalty wise, we were just sloppy and look
forward to playing a better game and executing at a
higher level.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
You know, coach, you look back at these games, you know,
you come from behind in both games in the fourth
quarter and you kind of go, well, you could be
oh and two, but you are too and oh you
found a way to win. So those are big positives
to take away I think from both those games.
Speaker 6 (06:15):
Yeah, I mean, obviously, like the what you're hunting for
is resilience, you know, and the will to fight and
stay connected. And we're doing that. I mean, that's that's
the beauty of it, is that we're finding a way
when we don't play well. And so we've all seen
teams progress and get better through the year, and you know,
we fully anticipate that, but we certainly have to play better.
If we're slippy tonight, it'll be a tall task, all right.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
Talk about your offense, coach, I know you turnovers and
penalties I know are still kind of plaguing the offense
and kind of keeping things, you know, behind the change
a little bit.
Speaker 5 (06:44):
Frankly, we're not good enough.
Speaker 6 (06:45):
I mean, you know, you've got some teams that you know,
big playmakers here and there that they can kind of
get out of us first and twenty, But that's.
Speaker 5 (06:51):
Not who we are and who we want to be.
Speaker 6 (06:53):
I mean, we're built on efficiency and doing things the
right way and playing with discipline, and unfortunately we hadn't
shown that.
Speaker 5 (06:59):
But again, that could click anytime.
Speaker 6 (07:01):
You know, our coaches have held the line and drawn
lines in the sand on you know, the way that
we're going to operate and do things. I've got to
do a better job of leading our group and you know,
being more attentive to detail, and I think our kids
are following that. So again, I'm excited for us to
clean some things up and see what it looks like
when we get into second and three instead of second eleven.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
How do you assess the way your defense has been.
I think they've kind of been a pleasant surprise here
in these first two games. I mean you look at
the second half against Benjamin Russell. Then last week there
were some busted assignments, but they were able to come
through with the big plays when they needed to.
Speaker 6 (07:29):
Yeah, you know, I've been excited about them, you know,
especially our front. You know, I think that's been, like
you said, a pleasant surprise, So you know, really really
excited about the growth there is.
Speaker 5 (07:39):
Our back end kind of catches up with our front. Again.
Speaker 6 (07:41):
We were sloppy last week, but they've done a great
job of playing really really hard and playing together. You know,
it's been a different guy almost every play, making big plays.
So it's been exciting to see those young guys step up, especially.
Speaker 5 (07:53):
When you're replace ten of eleven starters.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
Coach of motions were so high to on Thursday night.
You know, the guys were really into that game, you could,
and they got emotional at times, and how do you
you know, bring that in, especially in a rivalry game
like we've got tonight.
Speaker 6 (08:06):
Well, we can't do the things that cost us fifteen
yard penalties, I mean for sure, I mean that's unexcusable.
We didn't do that last year, and you know, this
is a new team, and emotions did run high, and
the kids are frustrated. There's some frustration there too, you know,
they our kids expect to play better. You know, if
you go back to the spring game against Utunku, were
really clean, played really really well, and we just hadn't
found that same magic you know, so far this season,
(08:28):
and so that can create some frustrations, but we talked
a lot this week about mental stillness, you know, being
in neutral and not getting too high or too low
in moments in the game. And that's absolutely what happened.
We went from you know, out and then we came
back and we thought we had won the ball game
and we made a bad decision.
Speaker 5 (08:44):
And that's something we've got to learn from.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
Visital head coach Brian Moore will continue our pregame visit
right off this time out. You're listening to Bulldog football
here on the kicker back here a pregame visit with
coach Brian more getting ready for the one hundredth meeting
tonight against the Auburn Tigers. Sell out crowd. It is
going to be exciting and electric atmosphere coming up when
this one kicks off just after the top of the hour.
And coach, I know, you can't make the game more
(09:06):
than it is, and I know that's tough against Auburn.
Speaker 6 (09:09):
That's exactly what you got to do, though. I mean,
you've got to keep yourself, you know, again in neutral.
You got to make sure that you don't think too
much about them or you know, knowing those kids from
growing up or playing them since you were in youth
leagues or in the seventh grade. You got to make
it about us, man, you got to make it about Opelaika.
Speaker 5 (09:25):
That's how you win games like this, you know.
Speaker 6 (09:26):
Unfortunately, you know, I hadn't done a very good job
of that in these big games.
Speaker 5 (09:31):
And we've got to really really focus on us.
Speaker 6 (09:34):
It's hard when you get the scout and you want
to you know, know everything that they do and bring
the best plan for the kids. But ultimately we've got
to execute what we have our plan and get our
players to play to the best of their ability. That's
the way you win these big games.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
Yeah, I was looking back at sort of the games
in the past few years and the last two years.
Opelikas had the league in the fourth quarter and Auburn
was the one that made the plays down the stretch.
And I know, you know, in the first two games,
maybe you can take away the way that get finished
in those two games.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
Maybe have to finish that way tonight.
Speaker 6 (10:01):
Absolutely, Van, I mean I think that was the deal.
We go, you know, twenty one to fourteen in the
game last year. Incredible drive and Brody makes the huge
catch in the back line right in front of their band,
you know, and our kids kept pushing the gas. But
those two big pass plays, you know, were the difference
in the game.
Speaker 5 (10:15):
And you know, we were right there, We were right
there to make those plays and just didn't do it.
And you're you're absolutely right.
Speaker 6 (10:20):
Tonight, we hope to step up and make those and
finish the game the right way.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
They struggled against Vestavia Hills, a big upsided loss, one
of the worst losses I know Auburn's had in the
regular season in my recent memory. What'd you take away?
What are some things that you think you can do
tonight against this team?
Speaker 6 (10:34):
You know, when you play really good people like Vestavia,
I mean Ve s Davy was a second round seven
eighteen last year, really really good coaching staff. You know,
they kind of got on them at snowballed on Auburn,
and you know, Auburn was a little bit shell shocked
in the game.
Speaker 5 (10:47):
That's that's an anomaly.
Speaker 6 (10:48):
I'm like you, Van, I've not seen that happen, and really,
if they played that game again, I'm not sure what
the score would be. So I think it's one of
those nice that just the ball bounced the wrong way
for Auburn and you know, I know they'll be hungry
to get back and get better tonight.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
What do you have to do, coach tonight for this
team to pick up a big win against Arrival.
Speaker 5 (11:06):
We got to eliminate penalties. I mean, playing said, we
got to take care of the ball and not give
it to them.
Speaker 6 (11:10):
We got to finish every drive with some type of kick,
a field goal, PA t or a punt. You know,
we got to continue to play hard defensively. We've got
to put a cap on the back end. This is
a kid in the Q and the Myers kid that
we saw at Pike Road last year that moved.
Speaker 5 (11:23):
To Auburn that can make plays both with.
Speaker 6 (11:25):
His feet and through the air, and we got to
do a great job at capping off route. We've got
to make him drive the field and we got to
win the line of scrimmage ultimately, again, take care of
the ball, no penalties and we'll just see what happens.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
Yeah, coach, I know you always have to run the
ball effective limit. It seems like to win a game
like this you're going to have to do it through
the air as well.
Speaker 5 (11:41):
No doubt.
Speaker 6 (11:41):
I mean last year we didn't have enough explosives. I
know coach McCracken talks about that a lot. We feel like,
you know, with the addition Andre Van and the way
Jay Wash and Bennett have grown up, you know, those
guys are going to help us create explosive plays through
the air, and we'll have to do that tonight to
be successful.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
Everybody helped the coach. I know, we had some guys
banged up last week.
Speaker 5 (11:58):
Got some game time decision.
Speaker 6 (12:01):
It's uh, it's been you know, last year, we stayed
pretty healthy through the year and you have these years
they come and go. But you know, we expect Blake
to play. He's obviously a difference maker. You know, we
expect Bennett to play. He's another difference maker that I
felt like our offense struggling in the first half without
those two guys, and so you know, with them, hopefully
tonight we plan on both play and you know that
will help us tremendously.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (12:21):
And then defensively, pretty much healthy, Norman Matthews will come back.
He's been cleared to play. UH, so we he'll he'll
play at the strong safety position, so that will be
a big bonus for us.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
UH.
Speaker 5 (12:31):
And so again we're gonna need all hands on debt
to get this done.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
Been a lot of distractions, coach, but hopefully it's positive
distractions with this is all said and done, an exciting
game tonight.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
Just sit back and enjoy this one, coach. Let's go
get a win.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
Thank you, Van, and go to dogs head coach Brian Moore.
We'll be back as we continue counting down to kick
off for tonight's one hundred meeting between Opalik and Auburn.
Right here on the kicker, just about ready for tonight's
(13:06):
coin toss and midfield being rich joined the losside Jason Lee,
Coachpence mccrack and mc McCracken. Lee roam in our sidelines
tonight and mac McCracken getting ready to bring the captains
nowt that's TJ, got baby TJ down there, Tremaine Thomas,
j Battle, Jordan Wait's Darius Whitlow captains for tonight's game.
(13:26):
White hat today Dana Barker will be bringing him to
the center of the O and the captains for Auburn tonight.
Number two Jaden Keen, also number one, b J Collins,
number seven Josh ask You and number three one of
the good linebackers for Auburn. Greg Williams coin toss tonight
(13:50):
and brought to my our friends at rentals outdoors. Don't
tell your kids, say your grandkids. You are keptain one
hundred no black a.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
Game, all right? That something big, that's big. That's a
big Thomas man. All right.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
I got a lot of love for both sidelines. Both
these teas have got friends on both sides. All right,
try I see how y'all's way. Y'all play some damund football.
I want to see how y'all's way and enjoy the game, all.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
Right, got me in a corner. Here's my commitory of
Auburn point. This is new. Just called the tail, all right,
flipping We'll flip it again.
Speaker 3 (14:25):
Just call it a tail, hey tailor?
Speaker 2 (14:29):
All right?
Speaker 3 (14:29):
We lost Mac down there, Auburn winning the child, so
to fur to the second half. So we will see
ope Aakah's offense come out on the field. We'll see
what the Tigers can do on defense. We'll see what
the Bulldogs can do on offense. And we're just about
ready for football. Here in Opalika and mag mccracking down
the sidelines. Mag, what was the feeling in the locker room.
(14:53):
Coach Board just.
Speaker 7 (14:54):
Came in and tell them, you know, I don't have
anything to say to.
Speaker 8 (14:56):
You, and they all went nuts, So you don't really
don't have to say anything, like you know, you know,
and Dad talked about.
Speaker 7 (15:01):
This pre game.
Speaker 8 (15:02):
You know, this this rivalry second to nine. You know,
Auburn over like it's been a long time. You know
that old second Avenue aubn Old like a road used
to be the old Crystals was the.
Speaker 7 (15:13):
Old divide line right there. But look, you know, I
know back and forth, a lot of them know each other.
Speaker 8 (15:18):
Some of them grow up with each other, moved moved
across city city lines. Yes, so they know each other,
played up through little league and everything like that. But
you know, as soon as two hits the leather, you know,
all friendships go out the door until the.
Speaker 7 (15:31):
End of the ball game.
Speaker 8 (15:31):
So I'm looking for a great ball game here tonight. Uh,
great crowd, band, I mean, my gosh, it is packed
on both sides.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
Sell out. Let's go play some.
Speaker 3 (15:41):
Football, I agree, Mac, and we'll take a quick break here.
They got the promo video rolling and kickoff is coming
up right here on the.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
Kicker open like a high school football is on the air.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
Stamped Bladdy Jackson course, Daddy's got the sidelines inside the twenty.
He's gone ten five touchdown, all out touchdown. The summersaults
into the end zone, waits inside the thirty twenty five
twenty waits down the sidelines, ten five touchdown.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
It stays on the state, inside the.
Speaker 3 (16:11):
Twenty, inside the tenth five touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
Temper time.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
Now to the stadium for kickoff of tonight's game. Here
on the kicker.
Speaker 3 (16:25):
The crowd is on their feed as Auburn has taken
the field, and here come the boat dolls. Not a
bigger ticket for a high school football game in the
state of Alabama this season, last season, or in recent
(16:48):
memory than this one tonight. Boy, they sold out an
hour and forty five minutes, and more kept popping up
for sale. And they'll sit on the rooftops to see
this one tonight. And the Auburn stands right now are
packed to the brim. The Bulldog stands are packed to
the brim. As the Tigers kicking team comes onto the field,
led by kicker Joseph Daniel. They'll kick from right to
left and the Bulldogs get ready to send out. They're kicking,
(17:10):
receiving team.
Speaker 4 (17:16):
WHOA, it's bigger than the Ben Russell crown.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
I thought they packed it in this bunch. They're all
over the player.
Speaker 3 (17:23):
Oh, Coach Ben Russell had a great crowd. You knew
this one would top it. The one hundredth meeting between
opal Ike and Auburn. Let's past ten seconds for station identification.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
W KKR Auburn opal his league, County's best country ninety
seven point seven kicker FM and iHeart country station.
Speaker 4 (17:42):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
I think it's key tonight, coach.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
Let's see if the Bulldogs can get down the field
set the tone early in this one. They have really
taken control of the past two meetings early and I
think they'll be imported in this one.
Speaker 4 (17:52):
Yes, Sir Andre Van and Leland Leland ball deep.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
But the doll John CJ.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
Johnson stands right near the goal line. You'll wait the
kick off here and the anticipation is almost over as
a tiger is an all white tonight, put total leather
and end over end kick by Josh ask you. It
seals into the end zone over the head of c. J.
Johnson and we are underway. Bulda has come out in
black pants, red jerseys, white numbers outlined in black Tigers,
(18:26):
like we mentioned in the All white with the royal
number helmets and fuller young Coach McCracken will be the
starting quarterback tonight. We know Kobe's been battling and nildus
this week. It is number twelve leading the offense out
on the field. The junior quarterback is a six foot,
one hundred and ninety five pounder. This will be his
first career varsity start. A lot of jv a lot
of middle school action, but none bicker than he's gonna
(18:47):
have right here. As he takes this first snap, we.
Speaker 4 (18:49):
Got number fifty one also Isaiah Howell, a sophomore, taking
Jeremy Dillard's place at left guard.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
Shot gun snap play action.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
There's a handoff left side and a good running room
across the twenty three up to the twenty four yard line.
Speaker 4 (19:07):
Good job by pretch It blocking up front and Isaiah
aile of a new boy.
Speaker 3 (19:12):
Jordan Waits on the carry there for the Bulldogs. As
he carries up for four yards, it'll be second down
and six young out of the shotgun here, he's got
two white outs rank singer receiver to the left side again.
Jordan Waits is the loan back, and now they'll bring
a man in motion. Gun gets the snap, hand off
waits he's met in the backfield, drop for a four
(19:33):
yard loss back to the twenty yard line, and that's
linebacker Greg Williams. They're gonna pin their ears back, Coach.
They can see right now Opalak has got a new quarterback,
and they're gonna pin back and try to stop this
run game early.
Speaker 4 (19:45):
Yeah, they also ran over there on the left side
that time, and we didn't block anybody that time.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
So big third down play here to start the game.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
No else, say, third and nine Dogs in their own
twenty one yard line. We'll see if Fuller goes to
the air here, he's got four white receivers, three to
the right, single receiver to the left side. As we're
just underway here at Bulldog Stadium ten fifty five and
the clock running here in the first quarter, the Dogs
letting the clock wind on down, Fuller gets the snap,
drops back shows screen timp nearly intercepted off of Andre
(20:15):
Van's hands at the twenty yard line and it's incomplete.
The punting team comes out here for the Bulldogs early
and a good stand there by Coach Gouldsby's defense on
the other side, and it's fourth down and nine Dogs
with there on twenty one there we couldn't.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
Run the ball and then we had trouble throwing the ball.
Not a good start for the Dogs.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
Well pregame, jitters are out. Now for the offense. Let's
see if the Bulldog defense can comes in. This is
an Auburn offensive struggled last week. Greece beasilely stands to
catch this one around the seven yard line, high blooming
boot and it sells back and it'll take an opal
like a bounce and get on it at the.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
Forty one yard line.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
A little bit of an Auburn roll there at the end,
but Cam Rayley comes down there and the snapper gets
down there and downs it. So the Tigers have pretty
good field position from their on forty one yard line.
As their quarterback is a new quarterback to Auburn, but not.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
A new quarterback the Bulldogs have faced.
Speaker 3 (21:11):
He was a Pike Road quarterback last year case of
Myers six two two oh five. He's a junior and
behind him will be a Smith's Station transfer. Jaden Huff
through the Bulldogs all last year playing for the Panthers.
They'll go five wide though they'll do this a lot.
Three to the left and two to the right here
for the Tigers on first down. From there on forty
one man in motion. Myers drops back, sets up a screen,
(21:33):
Ask you's got it, and nice job right at the
forty yard line. It'll be a loss of one as
Josh Davis brings him down.
Speaker 2 (21:39):
Good job, good job, Josh TJ.
Speaker 4 (21:42):
Thomas, Josh Davis, Money Thomas and Terres Thomas Junior up
front for the Dogs.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
Keith Brooks and Caden Harrish, two linebackers.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
They will say no gain on the place of second
down and ten well read there by the Bulldogs. Now
they will go with a back in the backfield. Myers
play action. They'll try to get a screen pass out,
Ask you's god it turns it up upfield. He's brought
down at the forty six yard line. He'll pick up
five yards as Isaiah Gray the defensive end on the
stop for the Bulldogs. It will be a second down
(22:12):
and five now four of the Tigers. When they're on
forty six.
Speaker 4 (22:14):
Jamail Griffin and Braden Howard's your two corners. Norman Matthews's
back as your strong safety Xavier Thomas and Antonius Pierce.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
Peter's your two safeties.
Speaker 3 (22:25):
Third down and five for the Tigers, Myers drops back,
ask you's got it on a slant pass for a
first down to the Bulldog forty six yard line. Antonius
Peters on the stop. But that was seven yards and
a Tiger first down.
Speaker 2 (22:38):
We're playing a little bit soft on that third down.
Speaker 4 (22:41):
Now, gotta be a little more aggressive than the secondary.
Speaker 3 (22:46):
We'll mark at that forty six yard line for an
eight yard at throwing catch Meyers out of the shotgun.
He'll check the sidelines here. As the Tigers, with the
football moving right to left, hit the Bulldog forty seven
yard line. Our forty six nine oh eight clock running
here in the first quarter, Myers drops back, pressure steps
(23:06):
up in the pocket.
Speaker 2 (23:07):
He'll run.
Speaker 3 (23:07):
He's got running room. He got popped, but he'll have
enough for a Tiger first down as he scrambles down
to the thirty three yard line. And that was a
really good scramble for thirteen yards. Lakedrick Burks on the stop,
but another Tiger first down. As they carry it down
to the thirty four they'll say first and ten and
the Tigers looked to go fast.
Speaker 4 (23:27):
They're gonna be all run, excuse me, all pass and
they're gonna run those.
Speaker 3 (23:31):
Quarterback drawls just like that Jaden King wide receiver in
the backfield for the Tigers three wide left side. They'll
fake the toss Myers the quarterback keeper nice move right,
stays on his feet, hurdles a man and he's down
close to the twenty six yard line. Another good run
by the quarterback eight yards. Lakedrick burks on the stop.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
You gotta do better. It gets a run to the
twenty six yard line.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
It'll be second down in two after that eight yard
quarterback scrambled and there's an injured player down lake Drick burts.
It's the injured player for the Bulldogs and his teammates
are signaling hurry up and get out and hopefully nothing
serious there as Leakedrick is down at the twenty yard
line here early in this one. So eight twenty one
time out on the field. We'll step aside. You listen
(24:14):
to Bulldog football. We're scoreless here with eight twenty one
lift in the first quarter on the kicker. Three and
out for the Bulldogs early in this one. The Tigers
with their first possession, starting field position from there on
forty one, they've got it down to the twenty six
yard line. They're facing a second down and two and
(24:37):
Leakedrick Burts is the injured bulldog now on the field.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
We will.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
Get down to Mac McCracken coming up here in just
a moment. Man, did you see what happened on that plague?
Speaker 6 (24:47):
Now?
Speaker 8 (24:47):
I did, And he got a little banged up on
that tackle. Then he came up and kind of collapsed
right there. So I think they're gonna take him to
the locker room.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
Yeah, it looks like lak T's gonna be helped with
the locker room. That's one of the starting linebackers there.
So Trey Stone will enter the ball game number two,
a junior, to replace Lukedrick Burts. That's a big loss there,
one of your better linebackers here early in this one.
So lineback in corn now is Caden Harris, Lukeedrick Berts
and the Tigers right now second down in two at
the twenty six yard line of Opalaika, and they've been
(25:15):
able to march it down the field on the ground
game and a big slant pass on a third down
and they move That is a five yard penalty at
offensive line there for the Tigers, which struggled mightily last
week in Vestavia offense.
Speaker 5 (25:32):
Five yard penalty.
Speaker 3 (25:33):
Still sick it down, so that will back them up
five yards to the thirty one yard line. It will
be second down and seven now for the Tigers. So
much better down here. Best Davy did a really good
job of getting pressure on the quarterback case Ad Myers,
and they did a good job not allowing any run lanes.
Speaker 2 (25:51):
Bulldogs got to.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
Clean that up early here eight oh three running clock
scoreless game round attack.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
There is Huff.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
He bounced it outside at a good job. Aiden Harris
is there for the Bulldogs on the stop and that
will be a negative play. We'll see where they forward progress.
It should be a loss on the play there for
Caden Jaden Huff the running back, and they'll mark it
back to the thirty two so just a loss of
one yard. There'll be third down and eight, So big
(26:18):
down here for the Bulldogs. Clock stout with seven fifty
left here in the first quarter.
Speaker 4 (26:22):
You got a pressure of the quarterback. Now they gonna
try to go on the edge.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
Five White look here for Myers out of the shotgun.
Myers gets the snap here on third and eight, drops back, sets,
turns right and rolls throws on the run. He's got
a man wide open at the twenty yard line. He's
forced out of bund at the twenty and it will
be a first down throw and catch good for twelve yards,
and that will move the chains for the Tigers.
Speaker 4 (26:49):
Too much pushing man, Yeah, heck, he threw that ball
in about three and a half seconds.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
May have been a little tug on the outside of
the line there as the defensive end was trying to
break containment. But yeah, no there, first down and ten
at the twenty of Opal Lake. After that big first down,
third down completion, here's Meers rolling near side throws. He's
got it complete at the ten yard line. It has
caught by Antonio Welch down to the ten close to
another first down, good for ten yards. And right now
(27:16):
Casey Myers is eating the Bulldogs up on the quick
passing game, and.
Speaker 4 (27:20):
We had no pressure on the quarterback. Then he got
the ball off in about two and a half seck.
Speaker 3 (27:24):
He's getting it. He's rolling the pocket and getting it
off really quick. First and goal inside the ten, down
to the nine yard line here on this first and
goal play coming up here for the Tigers. Myers out
of the shotgun, trips to the right side. Now he'll
bring a man in motion. Fax it quarterback, honesteve, but
brought down. Nice play there by the Bulldogs. And that
was number five coming in there. Norman Matthews the strong
(27:46):
safety making the stop.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
That's good job by Norman. He was out last week.
Speaker 3 (27:51):
That was a four yard loss back to the thirteen
yard line. It'll be second and goal from the thirteen
yard line.
Speaker 4 (27:57):
All right, we need a big play on second down here.
Now we've been good and giving up stuff right here.
We got to tighten up our defense is a little bit,
especially in the secondary.
Speaker 3 (28:07):
Jade and King wide receiver in the backfield. Now play
in the running back spot here for the Tigers Myers
on second and goal from the thirteen. They'll give it
in the backfield and swarmed up there at the eleven
yard line. Good job, not much, just two yards and
it'll bring up a third and long situation here. Elijah
Oden on the stop for the Bulldog. So third and
(28:28):
goal from the eleven yard line, and the Bulldog fans
will get on their feet here on a big third
down trying to hold the Tigers to a field goal attempt.
Speaker 4 (28:37):
You had to put pressure on him. Now, got to
put pressure on men. Don't give up the seven eight
yard pass.
Speaker 3 (28:45):
Yeah, gotta be got to get some pressure on him.
Speaker 4 (28:47):
Here.
Speaker 3 (28:47):
Jayden Huff is the tailback, so the right of Myers
here on third and goal from the eleven. They'll hand it,
I'll flee, flick or play. They're trying to throw it
to the quarterback and he is open. Myers with a touchdown.
A reverse pass to the quarterback casen Myers wide open,
and coach Atheridge pulls another one out of the hat
(29:09):
and a touchdown pass to give the Tigers a six
nothing lead here with five forty four remaining. What a
call thereby the Tigers.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
Defense.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
For the Bulldogs closed in on Myers but just couldn't
get there in time to knock that one away. And
here is Joseph Daniel for the point after.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
That's a third down, big play, touchdown.
Speaker 3 (29:30):
Snap good, and that extra point is good. He just
shot it through there, and the Tigers take a seven
nothing lead with five forty four to go here in
the first quarter. A trick play, a little throwback, it'll
pitch play to the wide receiver. Wide receiver throws the
touchdown pass from eleven yards out and the Tigers with
a seven to nothing lead. Bulldog Football continues after this
(29:52):
right here on the kicker. Welcome back here to Bulldogs Stadium,
five forty four. Remaining here in the first quarter, seven nothing,
Our score will head down for a four seasons Federal
Credit Union sideline report and mag McCracken roaming our sidelines.
Speaker 8 (30:11):
Mac, Yeah, that was you know, you know, Dad, something
it up right there. That was the possession of third downs.
They can you know, you know, they got every third down.
They made her right there, and a little trickery right
there caught.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
Us off door.
Speaker 7 (30:23):
But you know, seven nothing. You gotta you gotta just try.
Speaker 3 (30:26):
We can do here offensively back if you've seen this
series before, that play called no surprise at all.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
Yeah, I mean, you know, Albard, I mean one.
Speaker 3 (30:34):
Thing about coach Keith Dethrich and offensive coordinator over there,
coach Wanging, I mean, they always have gotten these plays
in their back pocket, and I.
Speaker 8 (30:43):
Mean one every they've used one at least two every
year on us. But you know, but those yeah, myp up,
third down, third So listen, we gotta get some We
gotta make something happen here on this drive here, get
a little bit more comfortable, get a run game going
on here.
Speaker 7 (30:57):
We can't go through it.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
Out right now.
Speaker 3 (30:58):
Alburn has set the tempo for the game right now,
Coach McCracken, they've they've they've basically came in here. And
any team that takes an early lead I think makes
a statement. But coach, the Bulldogs, the past couple of
years have been the team that struck early and got
the early momentum. So maybe the Bulldogs will be the
team that finishes this year.
Speaker 2 (31:16):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (31:16):
Well, the big plays got us and the first five
minutes of the game belongs to Auburn High School.
Speaker 2 (31:24):
So we'll we you know, we go three and out,
so we had to come back and make something happen.
Speaker 3 (31:29):
Yeah, this is a line of scrimmage game. This game
is going to be one in the trenches. And if
Opalaika cannot run the football tonight, the Dogs will not
have a good chance to be successful to win this game.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
No, they won't.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
All right, the Bulldogs, our return team is out trailing.
Here's seven nothing with five forty four remaining. The Tigers
jist ask you who just put up the extra point,
has it teed up and gets ready to kick this
one away.
Speaker 2 (31:49):
Andre Van and C. J.
Speaker 3 (31:52):
Jiinsoner back deep for the Bulldogs, standing at the goal line.
Tiger's kicking from right to left coming to you for
the North. The Pede Clinic broadcast s booth, East Alabama's
go to center for orthopedic care. They've been involved in
this rivalry game for forty five years too, on both sides,
so shout out to Terry Rosenthal and the team at
the Orthopedic Clinic as the kick sales into the end zone.
(32:12):
They've got two great locations eighteen hundred Lakeside Circle in Auburn,
eighteen Medical Arts Center, one twenty one North twentieth Street
in Opelaika, and their own line at the ortho Clinic
dot com, Van Rix coach Spitz mccracktt mac McCracken room
in the sidelines. Jason Lee also spotting an engineering and
hosting halftime here for us at Bulldogs Stadium. The friendly
(32:32):
confines tonight in front of a packed house here for
the one hundredth meeting between Opelika and Auburn and Fuller
Young we see him trying back out for his second
trip out, Bulldogs will start first and ten from there
on twenty yard line.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
Three and out.
Speaker 3 (32:47):
The last time out for the Bulldogs, first and ten,
the hammer in motion from left to right. They'll throw
here near side to Jalen Good hole down the side
and Jalen across the twenty five yard line. They'll mark
Jalen out of bounds at the twenty so a six
yard throwing kicks there to Jalen Washington.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
Nice play, well, keep it up, I'll say.
Speaker 3 (33:07):
Five yards, so it'll be second down and five as
they spotted Jalen down at the twenty five.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
Over there, Winlow and Mason good job up up front.
Speaker 3 (33:18):
Three white outs to the left side. Here's Fuller. Young
is out of shotgun formation. Young hands it here near
side and Jordan Waits carries it to the twenty seven
yard line. Show two yard pickup and this will set
up a third down and short. Aiden Parker, the linebacker
comes in for the Tigers and makes the stop. So
a second down in three here for the Bulldogs and
(33:39):
important and keep this drive going here Dogs for their
own twenty seven yard line. Seven other Tigers on top
five point fifteen and a running clock here in the
first quarter.
Speaker 2 (33:49):
Cee J.
Speaker 3 (33:49):
Johnson the tailback here on this third down, Dogs bring
Oiola and Johnson from right to left, white out either side. Now,
Jalen Washington goes in motion and they'll fake it to Johnson.
Give it to Blake Johnson. But there's a flag and
I believe this is gonna go against the Bulldogs. Snap
(34:11):
in fraction against the Bulldogs. So that's gonna be a
killer five yard penalty on what was a third and
three will now be a third and eight.
Speaker 2 (34:18):
Boy, that that just kills us right there. Yeah, gotta
make this first down.
Speaker 3 (34:23):
Now back to the twenty two yard line here on
third and eight. That changes your play call entirely. Here
you would think for Jad Atkins and coach Moore. Two
whiteouts either side. Now they'll empty the backfield, Blake Johnson
in there at the full back Fuller Young drops back
on third and eight, throws near side, picked off at
the thirty one yard line. Had us picked off by
(34:45):
Greg Williams. Williams on the return inside the ten. There's
a flag down and Williams is in the end zone,
but I believe it will come back. There's a block
I believe at around the twenty one yard line. But
I'll advise throw and al was picked off by the
linebacker Greg Williams. And we'll see what the call was
(35:05):
on the field here. Tiger's making the plays here early.
But I tell you what, the offense did not put
Fuller in a good position.
Speaker 5 (35:21):
There, alok in the back against the defense.
Speaker 3 (35:26):
Well, block in the back will help on the return,
so the touchdown will be negated. But coach, you ran
a third and three. You had to go to a
third and eight because a false start puts you in
a passing situation with a young quarterback who hasn't started
the game in his career.
Speaker 2 (35:40):
And you forced him to make a tough throw there. Yep,
sure had.
Speaker 3 (35:44):
Now the defense will have to come out and make
a stop after that step off here.
Speaker 2 (35:48):
There's a question here.
Speaker 3 (35:49):
It looks like by the white hat he runs over
to the back judge, the spot of the spot of
the football right now is at the opal Laika twenty
nine yard line.
Speaker 2 (36:01):
What's it down in distance?
Speaker 4 (36:03):
Now?
Speaker 3 (36:04):
It should be those wonderful lion conduct also against the
defense they calbn force two ten yard Oh they got
an u sports blant conduct at Auburn. I don't know
what that fifteen yarder was coach Keith Ethridge does.
Speaker 2 (36:22):
Not know as well. He is hot down on that sidelines.
Speaker 3 (36:28):
Oh, he is giving a near full of that official
that maacks it up all the way now to the
forty four yard line of Opalaco and to make some
plays on d Now, yeah, I got you at the
bulldog forty four after that interception. Now Casey Myers drops
back on first down, pump fakes goes back timp nearly intercepted.
That was a good play there by Trey Stone who
(36:49):
got a hand on that one linebacker there, and also
twenty three braidon Howard Man.
Speaker 2 (36:56):
We got more pressure on the quarterback.
Speaker 4 (36:57):
Now, nobody, nobody even he didn't even have to rush
that one.
Speaker 3 (37:02):
Now he's stepping back and doing a good job in
the pocket, very very poised here on this what you
got to imagine is his biggest start of his career too.
Seven up the Tigers with the lead four twenty four
left first quarter, Auburn is at the Opalaka forty four
yard line at'll least second and ten after that incomplete pass,
Tigers bring a man in motion. They'll give it to
King here near side. He is tripped down, but there's
(37:22):
a flag down to the forty six yard line. Hold it, yeah,
this looks like it'll be against Auburn, and coach more
quickly says, let's accept they'll replay second down ten yard
penalty from that spot, so that will back up things
to around the forty the other forty six.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
Carson Riddle comes in the game, number ninety nine at
the defensive tackle.
Speaker 3 (37:55):
So now the Tigers from their on forty six yard line.
This will be second in twenty four to sixteen to
go here. Jason King is the tailback here for the Tigers.
Speaker 2 (38:04):
They're gonna break some pressure.
Speaker 3 (38:05):
Get right here, and official saying start the clock here,
two white outs either side. King is the tailback for
the Tigers. Now they'll move a man in motion Cash
Reef from left to right. Myers drops back, rolls to
his right. Now Myers will tuck and run it and
he makes a man mis slides down at the forty
five yard line.
Speaker 2 (38:26):
We're just lost contained Van.
Speaker 3 (38:28):
Scrambled at for nine yards. This will be a third
and ten coming up four the Auburn Tigers. They need
to make to the thirty four for a first down.
Big third down coming up here, possibly four down territory
five wide. Look here for the Tigers. Myers checks the sidelines,
can't lose.
Speaker 4 (38:48):
Contain guys, Come on, this guy's good. He's gonna chuck it.
Speaker 3 (38:54):
Myers casually changing the play play clock down to eight,
down to nine, trips to the right side, singers to
the left. Myers on third and ten, drops back throws
across the middle behind his intended man. He had am
Antonio Welch shut around the thirty six yard line, but
it falls incomplete. It's fourth and ten and here comes
the punting team for the Tigers. Big stop by the
Bulldog defense there.
Speaker 4 (39:14):
Yeah, we got those penalties that helped us out. Good job,
offense got to do something to have Van van.
Speaker 2 (39:23):
Yep been very stagnant.
Speaker 3 (39:24):
You knew when you had a new quarterback you're gonna
have to run the football, and ople Like has not
been able to run the football successful. Hair I don't think,
uh well, in Auburn's gonna load the box till Opalika
can prove they can complete it downhill pass two.
Speaker 2 (39:37):
Yeah, Hammer and Waits haven't touched it.
Speaker 3 (39:39):
Have They have just four total yards right now for
the Bulldogs. That punt by Joseph Daniel Fair catch called
for at the ten yard line by Andre Van. That's
where the Bulldogs will take over from their own ten
yard line. First and ten coming up here for the
Bulldogs's Opelaiga trails seven nothing with three ten to go
here in the first quarter. In a big opportunity, Coach
(40:00):
for this offense to come out here and put a
drive together.
Speaker 2 (40:04):
However they do it through the air on the ground.
Speaker 3 (40:06):
Got to find a way to keep moving the football
and take control of the game, coach. Right now, Opelaco
is playing Auburn high football.
Speaker 2 (40:14):
Well, how many yards we got rushing? We just have
four total yards? Four yards and a quarter.
Speaker 3 (40:22):
Fuller young back out out of the shot gun trips
receivers to the right side. Jordan Waits is the tailbag.
Now CJ. Johnson moves in motion and they'll give it
to CJ. Left side. He's again hitted the line of scrimmage.
Nowhere to go. Big guys up front, Colin King, Carneal Jackson,
two three hundred plus pounders on the tackles. They're getting
good penetration and then the edges are closing in quickly too.
(40:44):
Colin King was the one on the stop there. Big
numbers zero no game. Second and ten Bulldogs from their
own a ten yard line. Jordan Waits, the tailback behind
fuller Young. Blake Johnson comes out, gets a breathere. On
this second down play, Young checks the sidelines. Two white
(41:05):
outs to the right side, single receiver to the left side.
Young out of the shotgun, gets the stamp puller, drops backs,
got back side pressure. Is gonna be sacked down at
the one yard line. Didn't see him coming and that
was a big sack by Cortes. Cooks number two comes
in from the back side, and now the Bulldogs are
facing a third and long from the two yard line.
(41:29):
That was a loss of eight yards back to the
two off.
Speaker 2 (41:32):
It's just getting smothered man, but getting back any plays
right now.
Speaker 3 (41:37):
The Bulldog's in trouble, just trying to get some breathing room.
On a punt here, it looks like fuller Young will
go under center here at the two yard line and
it's an I formation. Hard count Young checks the sidelines
under center, Blake Johnson the full back. You, I'll hand
it off to Jordan Waits and again swarmed up right
(42:00):
the line of scrimmage. No breathing room at all, and
this big offensive line forro Palaikas facing a huge front
right now from Auburn that's just pinning their ears back,
snipping the run every play, and it's.
Speaker 2 (42:15):
Almost like sharks in the water. Yeah, they just we're
getting whipped.
Speaker 3 (42:21):
Reese Beasley stands at the back of the end zone
to punt this one away and Josh ask you dangerous
or turn band for the Tigers to be around the
forty one yard line to await this punt here from
Reese Beasley. Beasley got away a squibbler and it's called
of the forty one yard line. Here's asked you on
a return and he's forced out of bounds at around
(42:41):
the thirty yard line. They'll mark him down to a
thirty one Leland Bell forces him out of bounds, but
the Tigers will only have thirty one yards to work
with first and ten and fifty eight seconds left here
in the first corps aubur leading seven to nothing and
again with good field positions, starting on the wrong side
of the fifty. If you're a Bulldog defensive player, we'll
(43:01):
get down check you. With Mitt mccracket coming up here
in just a bit. Two wides to the left side
and trips to the right, so a five wide. Look
again here for Case and Myers. As the Tigers at
the thirty one yard line, Myers quarterback draw right up
(43:23):
the middle and down to the twenty five yard line.
Six yards on the play or the Tiger quarterback, it'll
be second down in four like running down to forty
three seconds remaining in the first quarter, running five wide.
Look again here for the Tigers. Trips to the left side,
two receivers to the right, Myers out of the shot
(43:45):
and gun. He'll bring a man in motion from right
to left. That was Antonio Welch. Now Welch will go
back to the right side. Looks like the Tigers will
change their entire play here as Jaden King comes back
in the running back spot. Now receivers to the right side.
Myers on second and four rolls to his right, throws
back across the middle.
Speaker 2 (44:04):
Drops that one.
Speaker 3 (44:06):
Probably is a touchdown if Levi Kelly can hang on
to that one, but.
Speaker 2 (44:09):
He's runs when any pressure on him. Either man.
Speaker 3 (44:14):
Well way too many open receivers, and that one Kelly
wished he had back. He thought about the touchdown right
before he caught the football and dropped it. Third down
and four big one coming up here, ten eleven seconds left.
With that incomplete pass of the Tigers will have to
run a play here and this will be the last
play of the quarter.
Speaker 2 (44:33):
More than likely five wide.
Speaker 3 (44:35):
Look here, trips to the right, two receivers to the
left side, Myers out of the shotgun pump think right,
throws back tip dot down. What a play by Josh Davis.
The big tackle for the Bulldog's got a pall on
there and it does stop. The clock was seven seconds
left and it's fourth down and there Tigers are going
to bring on the field goal team. Joseph Daniel will
(44:56):
come out and try to attempt a field goal here
from the left hash.
Speaker 2 (45:01):
Down and this is a twenty forty three yards man.
Speaker 3 (45:09):
Forty three yarder you're right, coach, forty three yarder now
for Joseph Daniel. Was seven seconds left here in the
first quarter. The stamp was good, the kick is up
and the kick is wide to the left.
Speaker 2 (45:23):
No good, big stop there by the Bulletdog defense.
Speaker 3 (45:26):
Boy, the Opelikah Bulldogs needed that one and that kick
was off the mart No good, and the Dog defense
comes up with a big stop on Tiger's stay on
top seven to nothing with two seconds remaining, So Opelikah
will come out and have to run one play and
this one will be the end of the final final
(45:46):
play of the first quarter. Here Fuller Young trots back out.
The Bulldogs avoided a disaster situation there, having a punnet
from their own end zone and keeping Auburn off the scoreboard. Here,
Bulldogs first and ten from their own twenty yard line
with two seconds left here in the first quarter, Trips
receivers to the right side, five down linemen seven in
(46:11):
the box here for the Tigers. Fuller picks play out
to Jordan Wake's. Jordan has swarmed in the backfield nowhere
to go a lost back to the nineteen. Greg Williams
the linebacker there first, and that'll be the final play
of the first quarter. Ben al Auburn here early through
one and the Bulldogs trail seven nothing to the Tigers here.
(46:31):
Let's know like a Bulldogs football will have quarter number
two when we come back here on the kicker, Welcome
back here to Bulldog Stadium. Van Riggs laws side coach,
Spence mccrack. Mccrack and Roman are sidelines.
Speaker 2 (46:49):
Matt.
Speaker 3 (46:49):
Let's get a four seasons Federal Credit Union Sideline for
Big Stop by the Deep.
Speaker 8 (46:53):
Yeah, that was a win right there, Van, I mean
the way they've been manhandling us, and you know they
missed the field goal right there, but you know, offensively, Uh,
Coach Warren just got them all in the huddle right
there and you know, just basically self checked them. You
know it just you know, just told them to you know, hey,
it doesn't matter what we call. We're just getting whooped
up and down the field. The defense has spending the.
Speaker 7 (47:12):
Whole entire game, on the whole entire game out there,
so you know you got to do this.
Speaker 8 (47:18):
You've been I mean, they've had their way with us
this whole first out, I mean this whole first quarter.
So you know, right where again you gotta wake up.
So he just said, you know, play for that play
for that name. Let's sit across your across your jersey,
let's do something.
Speaker 2 (47:30):
About it, all right.
Speaker 3 (47:31):
Thank you, mag mac mccrackle with the Four Seasons Federal
Credit Union Sideline Report. It'll be second and twelve as
we start quarter number two, Auburn leading seven to nothing,
and after the TV time out, it's five wide. Look
here for the Bulldogs now a man in motion from
right to left. Fuller Young drops back throws, He's got
Jalen here near side. Jalen Bo've got to be wrapped
up and slung down to the ground by Alex Gamston
(47:52):
who didn't let him out of this site. And it'll
be a pickup of just one third down and eleven
coming up for the Bulldogs. Gamston last year had the
Timph interception that sealed the win for Auburn. Good player
there six two, one hundred and seventy pounds Junior.
Speaker 4 (48:14):
C. J.
Speaker 3 (48:14):
Johnson the tailback. Now Polika facing a third and twelve,
they'll say no gain on that last play. Bulldogs again
from their on eighteen yard line, two white outs either side.
Opelikah desperately needed to move the chains here. Fuller Young
throws near sight Andre Van and he has slung down
by Greg Williams. They are not missing a tackle tonight
and Opelika unable to shake through. They pick up two,
(48:35):
but fourth and ten punting time for the Bulldogs. Eleven
oh eight left in the second quarter, and the Tigers
again I in good field position, leading seven to nothing,
and here comes Reaes Beasley and the Bulldogs to punt
it away to play it over and a personal foul
(48:56):
on both teams. That offset.
Speaker 4 (49:00):
A little frustration there Van on our part, yeah and
their parts.
Speaker 3 (49:07):
Eleven oh eight left here in the first half, and
Reese Beasley stands inside the ten to catch the snap
from cam Raley to punch this one away. You need
to get a boomer off here. Good snap, and Reese
took his time and he skied a mile high and
that sales pack. It's muffed and then scramble for it
(49:28):
and the Tigers are gonna come up for it at
the thirty yard line. Two bulldogs were there and Auburn
I think pounced on it at the thirty yard line.
That was almost to break the Bulldogs needed, and Auburn
was able to come up with it. Alex Camsten, we
just called him. He was able to come up with
that one and save the Tigers there.
Speaker 2 (49:46):
Great punt. That was a great punt. Whoa wait, that's
about a fifty five yard punt.
Speaker 3 (49:50):
I believe where they market at the thirty It was
a fifty two yarder. Coach, Yeah, yeah, rush down, so
Auburn will start for their own thirty yard line. But boy,
Alex Camston saved him. There Tigers first and ten for
on thirty yard line.
Speaker 2 (50:05):
They lead at seven to nothing.
Speaker 3 (50:06):
Here at Bulldog Stadium, ten forty nine left in the
second quarter, trips to the left, too wide to the
right side case Admires the quarterback for the Tigers out
of the shotgun with an empty back field, gets the snap,
drops back and now rolls to his left, throws and
it is caught at the first down sticks turning back
for it and staying on his feet and losing a
couple of yards after the catch was Josh, ask you
(50:29):
and he's going to be brought down around the thirty
six six yard pickup. He caught it right almost at
the first down marker, but lost a couple afterwards.
Speaker 2 (50:37):
Uh huh, good job. That's good job, David.
Speaker 3 (50:41):
Second down four or five wide. Look here for Myers again.
Trips to the right, two receivers to the left side.
Meyers out of the shotgun, gets the stamp low stamp
stay he's in the pocket. Throws across the middle, caught
by Welch, and he's brought down at the forty six
yard line. That'll be enough for a Tiger first down.
It's a ten yard pickup on a quick row and catch.
(51:01):
One thing the Tigers have right now is that passing attack,
and it's first and ten up to the forty six
yard line, five wide receivers. Again, trips right to to
the left, Myers checks the sideline, now checks his wrist
and changing the play. As the clock winds nine fifty
five to play. Here in the second quarter, Auburn leading
(51:22):
seven to nothing, and with the football moving right to left,
two wide either side, Myers out of the shotgun, wanted
to toss it. Now runs right up the middle and
he has got a wide open seam for a first
down down to the forty one yard line.
Speaker 2 (51:37):
Norman Matthews was there.
Speaker 3 (51:40):
That was a scamper of thirteen yards for the quarterback
from Alburn first and ten, nine thirty three o'clock running
down to the forty two of opal like and a
quick inside handoff and shooting through there on a very
tired opal like a defense. Now's Jaden King and there's
a flag near the opal like a sideline and we'll
(52:00):
see what this is. White hat points towards white hat
pointing towards Opelika. Yeah, it's Opalika. Didn't get the man
off the field, And I think they're sickling. They wanted
to decline, and we'll see.
Speaker 2 (52:17):
Enough using fraction.
Speaker 3 (52:22):
Second down, all right, second out and short down at
the thirty three yard line. Second and very short back
to the right. They'll give it to the tailback and
he has stood up right at the line of scrimmage,
bikes ahead though, down to the thirty yard line. He'll
have enough for the first time actually picked up three yards.
(52:43):
Was jad and Huff Caden Harris on the stop for Opeka.
And this is a Bulldog defense. It's been out here
the entire first half. Sure have Van David, they have.
They have saved the day so far. But they're doing
everything they can. But they're getting tired here with nine
oh six to go here in this first half and
a flag down on the line of scrimmage, I think
(53:04):
this is going to be a false start against.
Speaker 5 (53:08):
It is.
Speaker 2 (53:11):
False start against the offense.
Speaker 3 (53:12):
That'll back up the Tigers five yards back to the
thirty five yard lines, so it'll be first in fifteen
nine oh two to play here in the first half again,
Auburn leading seven nothing here at Bulldog Stadium. Ope like
is spending a lot of time in that offensive huddle
over there, and try to find a way to get
(53:35):
back get some offense going here. Myers drops back on
first in fifteen throws and it is caught fingertip snack
at the twenty five yard line. Good pop Antonio whelks
with the reception and a good stop by number fourteen
by Opelika. That was Leland bell Plague game.
Speaker 2 (53:56):
Five yards second five.
Speaker 3 (53:58):
Down to the thirty yard line, except five yards. It'll
be second down and five and Opelika gonna take a
time out now. Coach Moore wants to take a time
out and try to settle his troops down eight twenty
six to go. First half, all Auburn here at Bulldog Stadium,
and they lead it seven to nothing. You're listening to
Bulldog football right here on the kicker back here at
(54:26):
Bulldog Stadium, make twenty six left. Good time out there
by coach Moore is a Jason Lee ar spoder and
engineer Tonight just pointed out coach McCracken, good time out
because the heat timeout's coming too, So you get kind
of a two timeouts for one here and give your
defense a little bit extra time to get some water
and catch their breath. They've been out here a lot
in this first half.
Speaker 2 (54:45):
Sure having they haven't had a negative play, I don't.
Speaker 3 (54:48):
Think second in five of five wide. Look here for Myers.
He gets the snap, drops back from the twenty five
yard line, wants to run now, rolls to the right side,
and he has forced out of bounds and around the
twenty four yard line. That was a good play by
Josh Davis. This will set up a third down in three.
As Myers is a shifty runner there picked up a
(55:10):
couple of yards. It'll be third down in well, let's
say third and four, so he just got a yard
there down to the twenty four yard line. Dig down
here could be four down territories. The Tigers just missed
the field goal. Two wide left, single receiver to the
right tail back is Jaden Huff. Myers out of the
(55:30):
shotgun here on third and four, Myers gets the snamp
tossed play too Huff and a good hit and down
close to the twenty one yard line. Gonna be short
of the first down, but it's going to be fourth
and one coming up for the Tigers. Xavier Thomas slips
in there and makes the stop for the Bulldogs coming
(55:51):
in from the safety position. So let's say, fourth and two,
they actually mark him down at the at the twenty
two yard line, and the Tigers gonna go for it.
Can the Dogs get another stop here? On defense? Caleb
Thomas checks in the ball game number twenty two, the
new tail back in the game, and there's a flag
down that's gonna be against the Tigers.
Speaker 2 (56:11):
Yeah, that's the delay of the game infruction. Auburn called
their first shore hove out of the half.
Speaker 5 (56:17):
There is no found to play.
Speaker 3 (56:18):
For a legal substitution, all right, So Auburn did call
a time out just in time and dodge a bullet there.
We'll step aside. Big play coming up for the Tigers.
Seven to nothing, Auburn on top, and a fourth and
two when we come back. You're listening to Bulldog football
here on the kicker, Auburn dodging a penalty, calling a timeout,
(56:40):
and now the Bulldog's defense trying to come up with
a big fourth down stop. Offense stays out for the Tigers,
leading seven to nothing, fourth and two at the twenty
two yard line of Auburn. Thomas is the tailback for
the quarterback Casen Myers directly behind him and waiting for
the ready to play here from the white hat and
the Bulldogs getting on their feet, and we got the
(57:03):
whistles sent play clock starts Myers out of the shotgun.
Now he'll bring his tail back to the right defensive
shift and the Tigers move five yard penalty and that
will back up Auburn five yards and we'll see if
they bring in the field goal team.
Speaker 2 (57:17):
Here they come.
Speaker 3 (57:20):
So that changed the mind of coach Keith. That bridge
and the field goal team comes out and the field
goal kicker is actual number twenty seven, Cooper Bailey. So
Cooper as US thirty nine. Cooper Bailey's the holder here
thirty four forty four yarder. Forty four yarder from the
(57:42):
left hash on a fourth and seven, he just missed one.
Gets the snap down and that will blocked.
Speaker 2 (57:50):
Blocked by the Bulldogs.
Speaker 3 (57:51):
Xavier Thomas blocked Itn't it a huge play by xmas
here Thomas flies in there and got a hand on
it and blocked it. What a play seven nothing. The
score stays with seven thirty three left.
Speaker 2 (58:08):
Boy, that was huge. Coach McCracken, Yes, sir, great play
by the defense.
Speaker 4 (58:13):
Aid, that's just not quitting and little thinging in there,
these little things and you're hanging in here and you're
one busting play right now from tying this game up.
Our guys have ten yards of total offense and hanging
in here right now, absolutely.
Speaker 2 (58:30):
Well.
Speaker 3 (58:30):
The Bulldogs will take over line of scrimmage as they're
on thirteen yard line after that block, so we'll see
Fuller Young out of the shotgun. He'll bring Blake Johnson
in motion and they throw here near signed Jalen with
a completion Jalen up around the twenty yard line, and
we'll see if they give Jalen the twenty one yard line.
(58:51):
Isaac Benford on the stop, they will give them the
twenty one yard lines. That's eight yards on the throw
and catch to Jalen Washington. It sets up a second
and two, seven fifteen left in the first half, and
the clock running Fan to the left, Washington to the right,
and Fuller Young out of the shotgun, Jordan Waits the tailbag.
(59:13):
Waits gets the hand off straight up the middle. Good
run by Waits. He's gotten the first down up to
the twenty six yard line. That's a five yard run
and that'll be a Lambert transfer in storage. First down.
Isaac Benford on the stop for the Tigers and wide
out either side. Now the first and ten play Dogs
when they're on at twenty six yard line. Fuller gives
(59:35):
the hand off to Jordan left side and Jordan running hard,
but not much there on that one. He carries it
up to the twenty nine looks like gave him three
yards or just the twenty eight looks like so maybe
picked up a yard there, a little bit shorter than
it initially looked. Looking out up to the twenty eight
(01:00:00):
yard line, there'll be second down an eight six, twenty
one o'clock running Tigers leading seven nothing bulldog football from
their own twenty eight yard line. Fuller gets the handoff,
fakes it. Fuller wants to throw, lets one go, and
it's picked off at the thirty six yard line by
the Tigers and down to the thirty yard line on
the interception and the Tigers back in business. After another interception,
(01:00:24):
Fuller had pressure come and let that one go, just
didn't look like it came out of his hand good
and threw it back across the field and there's a
heat time out on the field. Fuller popped as he
let that one go, actually, and it was interception by B.
J McGee and Auburn back in business. Here was six
oh four to play here in this second quarter, seven nothing,
(01:00:45):
Tigers on top.
Speaker 2 (01:00:46):
You're listening to Bulldog.
Speaker 3 (01:00:46):
Football here on the kicker. Welcome back here to Bulldog Stadium.
It's the Tigers leading seven nothing, six play here in
this first half. We'll head down for a four seasons
Federal Credit Union Sideline report and Mac, this defense has
been called upon so many times, so many times, and
(01:01:08):
still in the ball game. But got to call on
the defense again.
Speaker 8 (01:01:11):
Yeah they are, and you hay, it's they're playing. They're
playing their hearts. You can just tell them. And you know,
of course Warre got them in there, just smiled with
them and said, hey, y'all, just keep playing. They're playing
so hard, you know, and hopefully offensively we'll get something
to go.
Speaker 7 (01:01:24):
But yeah, they're just they're putting up a.
Speaker 8 (01:01:26):
Wall and they're just trying to keep them out or trying.
Speaker 7 (01:01:28):
To force force field goals.
Speaker 3 (01:01:30):
All right, thanks so much, Matt McCracken with the four
Seasons Federal Credit Union Sideline Report. So auvert now with
a seven to nothing lead, and back with the football.
I think every drive but one for the Tigers has
been on the plus side of the fifty.
Speaker 2 (01:01:42):
But I think they're gonna go for a big play
right here.
Speaker 3 (01:01:44):
Van, Yeah, it would not surprise me. Watch numbers and
Josh ask you. He was their playmaker last year eight reception,
one hundred and forty seven yards. He's already made his
impact here on a throwing touchdown, as he was the
wide receiver who found Case and Myers open on a
little wide receiver pitch throw back to the quarterback play.
(01:02:07):
I don't know the offen. You didn't run many of those, coach.
I don't know what's the official call on that one
throw back wide receiver pass? Oh did you dial that
up many times?
Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
Coach?
Speaker 4 (01:02:16):
When you're never never ran that one? What about the
flea flicker through a double pass? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:02:21):
Did you do those flea flickers some?
Speaker 6 (01:02:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:02:23):
Yeah, Yeah, we had a few trick You're to have
one trick play a game. We tried to have one
a game, different one.
Speaker 3 (01:02:32):
Yeah, Coach Moore, do I need to find and find
dig deep in the in the play sheet on this
one to night? Six oh four left here in the
second quarter, seven nothing Auburn with the lead and the
Tigers a good field position. They're starting at the Bulldog
twenty nine. After that interception second of the night by
the Bulldogs, Myers gets the stamp and the handoff to
(01:02:53):
the running back Thomas for a short pickup down to
the twenty eight yard line. Pick up a one yard
a second down in nine, good stopped by Caden Harris
Isaiah great for the Bulldogs in there on that one
five fifty and the clock running here in the second quarter,
Bulldog fans trying to get on their feet. Second down
in nine, five forty three left, five wide. Look, Myers
(01:03:15):
out of the shotgun, drops straight back, pressured, runs here
near side, Myers trying to find somebody up and downfield
and just throws it away. Nice play there in the backside,
actually threw it towards the sidelines and that was almost completed.
But a really good play there and by the Bulldogs.
That was Jamel Griffin in there that bad did that
(01:03:37):
one away. Nice play by Jamail. So here it is
third and nine. Hey, do you think the Tigers are
going for it? They They've attempted two field goals, one block,
one missed, five wide here third and nine at the
Bulldog twenty eight yard line.
Speaker 2 (01:03:54):
Late man on for the Bulldogs. Miscommunication.
Speaker 3 (01:03:56):
There's a punk fake trying to get it to ask
you in a time out having to be taken by
coach more late guy coming on for the Bulldogs. Just
miscommunication and that was somebody in the secondary strong safety
was late to get on the field. So a time
out here a five twenty six left, seven nothing and
a big third down for the Tigers.
Speaker 2 (01:04:14):
When we come back.
Speaker 3 (01:04:15):
You're listening to Bulldog football and we'll be back after
this word from Gore East Furniture. Bulldog fans getting on
(01:04:35):
their feet out of the timeout. We thought there was
a malfunction and it was a well designed play there
by the scoreboard operator. So third and nine, seven nothing,
Tigers with the lead and trying to keep their drive going.
Here at the Tiger twenty nine yard line, third and nine,
Myers out of the shotgun play action. Myers drops back,
(01:04:56):
throws one deep in the end zone, an overshot his
wide receiver. It's incomplete. He tried to hook up with
Josh ask you. He had them open in the back
of the end zone with that one, just too far.
And it's fourth and nine, and we'll see if coach
Ethridge keeps the eye fits out. They've had a field
goal block. They've missed one, and he's gonna give them
another shot here on fourth and nine. And I would
be in safe defense mode if I was the Bulldog's
(01:05:18):
here coach mccrack and I still have nightmares about that
fake field goal. So we'll see if Joseph Daniel can
put one through here forty five yard of ten. This
one is just inside the left hash Bulldog fans on
their feet. Good snap and that one blocked again. Pick
(01:05:40):
it up by Xavier Thomas again, Xavier Thomas. That's two
blocks by Xavior Thomas. Xavier Thomas with two big special
teams plays and two block field goals. With five twelve,
the Bulldogs get another stop on defense and the old
Dog offense will come out with five twelve to work with,
(01:06:03):
and the Dogs will start from their own thirty eight
yard line, first and ten. Boy, coach McCracken, what a
play by Xavier Thomas.
Speaker 2 (01:06:11):
Incredible great flight.
Speaker 3 (01:06:15):
Offense needs to answer here, Boy, what how big would
it be to go into halftime tie up the way
this game first half is gone? That would be huge.
Gotta get some offense going fuller. Young will go under
center now, first and ten from his own thirty eight
yard line and a quick inside handle. There's Blake Johnson
and Johnson has swallowed up right at the line of scrimmage.
(01:06:35):
He'll follow up to the forty yard line pick up
two yards are so to be second down and eight.
That is Johnson's first carriad. He's been limited with an
ankle injury and he's not one hundred percent today, but
he's staying in here. On this second down to eight,
(01:06:56):
c J. Johnson also checks in the game along with
Jordan Waits. Jordan Waite's gonna play the fullback position here.
Ethan Oiola is also in the game. Play clock down
to seven, down to six Puller Young again under center
here on second down to eight, quick inside hand off,
there's a good run buys Jordan Waits carries it up
(01:07:19):
to the forty nine yard line. That's nine yards in
a Lambert transfer in storage. First down, the Bulldog is
close to midfield and a little counterplay. Coach mccracking at
Jordan Wakes, great job right there. May have to go
a little old school football here. I think that's what
coach Moore has decided to tell his team. We're going
under center and came.
Speaker 2 (01:07:40):
Back to Julian Pritchett, him, Isaiah Howell.
Speaker 3 (01:07:42):
Good job, Jordan Waits with a good run there. It'll
be an eye formation as the official has to tie
a shoe pressure on him right now to get those
laces right at the middle of at the fifty yard line,
and it's first and ten Bulldogs from their on forty
nine yard line. I formation hand off to C. J. Johnson,
(01:08:05):
and CJ's mint at the fifty yard line will fall
down to the forty nine, so we'll pick up two
yards and keeps the clock running out four oh six
to go. And these two big guys there at tackle
zero in ninety nine, they are big, yeah, they are.
That's a King and Jackson then uh six one three
(01:08:25):
hundred and six three three thirty so yep, certainly a
big presence. And they're loading the box here, trips receivers
to the right side. And now young, we'll go out
a shotgun here on second and eight at the tiger
forty nine, quick hand off to C. J. Johnson and
brought down right at the line of scrimmage. Then he
picked up one yard down to the forty eight yard line.
(01:08:46):
It'll be third down and third and seven coming out
in thirty seven. Hunter Brown on the stop for the
Tigers defensive end. We'll see Blake Johnson check in the
ball game. Two receivers to the right, Andre Van lined
up here to the left alone big third and seven
(01:09:08):
for the Bulldogs. I'll check the sideline. Fuller Young checks
the sideline for his play.
Speaker 5 (01:09:13):
C J.
Speaker 3 (01:09:13):
Johnson as the tailback for the Bulldogs. Blake Johnson, the
full back, lined up to the left under three and
out of play. Buller gets the snap throws it's batted
down had Andre Van, but it was batted down by
Greg Williams. And it's fourth down, and here comes the
punting team for the Bulldogs. Had what he wanted, just
(01:09:36):
a good pall there by the senior linebacker Greg Williams
to bat that one down. And here's Rehyes Beasley set
to punt this one away and deep man for the
Tigers is Cash Wreath and a short punt and a
fair catch called forth the fifteen yard line and taken
by the Tigers. So Auburn will have it from their
(01:09:58):
own fifteen with two point fifteen to play before here
in this first half, seven nothing Tigers with the lead,
and again the defense called upon to get another stop.
Boy a missed field goal. Two blocks by Opelaika has
kept them in this ball game.
Speaker 2 (01:10:12):
Yep. And with our total yards still aren't a whole
lot of it. Not right now.
Speaker 3 (01:10:21):
Jason is our statistician to night in our spoder adding
things up. Tiger football from their own sixteen yard line.
First and ten. Here for the quarterback Casan Myers, five
wide look, drops back throws far side of the field.
That one is hauled in and caught. That's Antonio Welch
and they'll mark him out of bounds at around the
(01:10:45):
twenty three yard line. So that's a seven yard throwing catch.
Two thirty two left and Clark stopped as he went
out of bounds. Seven nothing our score album with the lead,
and then we're late first half. Trips receivers right two
to the left, another five wide look for Chasten Myers
(01:11:07):
and the Tigers.
Speaker 2 (01:11:09):
Plays ruled out of bounds will be a second down.
Speaker 3 (01:11:12):
Gave local Florida step a white hat relaying the information
in so game, Clark has yet to start here two
forty two second and short Myers drops back throws across
the middle, got a complete to Collins, hold the penalty
and there's a flag in the range of holding there
on the Tigers. Here the first down marker of the
(01:11:34):
reception was close.
Speaker 2 (01:11:35):
Instead, we're gonna get the ball back to.
Speaker 3 (01:11:37):
Around the twenty six yard line, but that's a hole
that'll back the Tigers up five ten yards two thirty
six to go. It's a low scoring one. Here's seven
to nothing and that's a big ten yard penalty and
that will put the Tigers and a neck of second
(01:12:00):
down coming up second and thirteen.
Speaker 4 (01:12:03):
Man, we need to make something happen here. We need
to get a get a pick or get a fumble
or something.
Speaker 3 (01:12:10):
Tigers from their own thirteen yard line with another five
wide look and quarterback drawplay up the middle. Myers did
a nice job breaking tackles but could finally able to
get down at the twenty one yard line stop by
Norman Matthews, and he carries it up to the twenty
one yard line, picked up around six yards. Third and
(01:12:35):
five with two three to go here in the first half,
now under two third down and five for Auburn five
wide look for their own twenty one. Myers drops back,
it is hauled in and caught for a first down
up to the thirty four yard line, thirteen yard pickup
as Myers hits Jaden King just dropping back, stepping back
and hitch in cats right now and one fifty one
(01:13:01):
to go here In this first tab, Olda is trying
to keep the Tigers off the scoreboard. First and ten
from their own thirty four yard line. Myers and the
offense continuing to go fast here five wide look, Myers
drops back now on another holding flag, they'll throw it's
complete at the forty now on the sidelines out of
bounds at the fifty yard line was cast reef. But
again this looks like in the indication of holding against Auburn.
Speaker 7 (01:13:25):
Well, they've had a moment all right.
Speaker 3 (01:13:31):
Now this bulled on defense doing a good job, calls
in a couple of holding flags. To one to thirty
four left in the game, seven nothing, Tigers with the lead.
It'll be a first in twenty coming up now for
the Tigers from around the twenty one yard line, or
(01:13:52):
check that the twenty four yard line. Five wide look
for Myers again drops back, steps up, throws and it
is hauled in and caught. But a nice tackle on
the far side of the field after the catch. Braiden
Howard as he was a wrap up Josh ask you,
and he was not able to do anything after the catch.
(01:14:14):
He gets up to the twenty seven yard line, just
a three yard pickup. Second down in seventeen with one
ten left and Auburn now letting some clock run, not
in much of a hurry with a five wide look
here late second quarter, now under a minute to go,
second and seventeen Tigers from their own thirty twenty seven
(01:14:36):
yard line. Myers drops back, throws sidelines caught good hit
far side of the field, but it was hauled in
and calt find Jaden King That was Braiden Howard on
the far side of the field made the style, but
the play is good for eighteen yards and an Auburn
first down. Clock continues to run down to forty two.
(01:14:58):
Down to forty one, the Tigers not using any time outs.
They've got two remaining two right, three to the left,
five wide look again for Myers, who drops back backside
pressure comes. He was hit as he throws, but able
to catch it his cash reef and turn up the
sidelines here the first down marker. He gets enough for
the first down down to the Bulldog forty four yard
line and that's an eleven yard throw and catch it.
(01:15:20):
Another Tiger first down. It stops the clock with twenty
nine seconds left. Boy, this will be a tough one
to overcome here. Tigers can find pay dirt here. Five
wide look trips to the right, two receivers to the
left side. Myers sets, he's got pressure of stone in
his face, but he steps up, avoids the rush, rolls
here near side down the sideline, throws AND's got a
(01:15:42):
man but knocked away. Who Xavier Thomas. He's been the
play man for the defense here in the first half.
Save the touchdown there, excellent number twenty six. Xavier Thomas
saved that one and the clock stopped here with twenty
seconds left left, sug it down ten second down in
(01:16:08):
ten twenty seconds left. Tigers down to the Bulldog forty
four and it will be second and ten with just
twenty seconds left. Auburn trying to add to their seven
to nothing to leave five wide look, two to the right,
three to the left side. Myers steps up in the pocket,
deep shot down field and it is hauled in and
call at the five yard line down to the three.
Speaker 2 (01:16:28):
And that was B. J.
Speaker 3 (01:16:29):
Collins on the reception for the Tigers a perfectly thrown ball.
No that's Josh ask you again, Jade and Daniels rather
number two. Yeah, well, Tigers will take a time out
now with twelve seconds left. So big completion downfield, all
(01:16:50):
the way down to the three yard line. Yeah, that
is good for around a forty two yard reception. So
the Tigers first and ten now from the three yard line,
trying to add their seven at the lead to with
just twelve seconds left. We're back after this time out.
You're listening to bulldog football here on the kickers. Twelve
(01:17:16):
seconds left and Auburn with a big pass play inside
the five, first and goal of the three, just twelve
seconds to work with and trips to the right side,
and coach Brian morganna call a time out now and
after seeing Auburn's alignment here and they got at least
two shots to the end zone through the air, maybe
even three depending on how they can throw it so quick,
(01:17:37):
coach McCracken, don't you think you can probably get maybe
two maybe three plays off of you?
Speaker 2 (01:17:42):
Yep? Quick quick throws. Yeah. Then they got two timeouts left.
Speaker 4 (01:17:46):
Yeah, oh, Black are called time out right there because
they didn't have a third man over here on their
slight backs and that would have been.
Speaker 2 (01:17:54):
An easy touchdown. So it's a good call by Brian.
All Right, make McCracken.
Speaker 3 (01:17:59):
What's the message been from the offense of the defense down.
Speaker 2 (01:18:02):
On the field.
Speaker 8 (01:18:03):
Well, defense, you know, you know before they're you know,
they're doing their job. They're out there on the green
very long time. Special teams came up big. Hey, let's
see if they got one more hold in them offensively.
We we just we can't capitalize. So we're going to
go to the drawing board here to have them to
figure out something.
Speaker 3 (01:18:19):
Yeah, we gotta figures get some offense, going to find
a way in the second half in this one, but
needing a way to come up with a stop here.
Speaker 2 (01:18:27):
This is gonna be the big quarterback running the ball.
Speaker 3 (01:18:30):
Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if you saw a quarterback
draw here either, Coach, I think that's what it is
going to be. Still, got the one time out, Myers
checks the sidelines. He's got trips to the right side.
It could be a screen pass too. Got a welch
and ask you each side over here lined up to
the right, and it's a quarterback run. Myers down to
(01:18:51):
the one stop short. His helmet popped out. He's gonna
have to come out now, and they're gonna have to
burn a time out. Six seconds left. Josh Davis with
a big pop on the quarterback, so his helmet came off,
so he's gonna have to come out of the game.
And the goal line here was six seconds left, So coach,
that really gives you one last play and your backup
quarterbacks coming in.
Speaker 2 (01:19:12):
Final come out of the half.
Speaker 3 (01:19:13):
Yeah, so they'll call a time out, and I guess
he'll be able to come in since they do call
a timeout, So.
Speaker 2 (01:19:18):
Sure he can come right back in the game. Yeah,
I believe so.
Speaker 3 (01:19:21):
No, I don't think of time out in the gate set.
I'm pretty sure you can't call a time out. I
don't think we'll have to get some clarification, Mack, you
can check with the official on that. I believe he
still has to. We'll let Mac go.
Speaker 2 (01:19:42):
Ahead, Mac.
Speaker 7 (01:19:43):
Yeah, the quarterback cannot come back in.
Speaker 2 (01:19:45):
Yeah, I didn't think he could.
Speaker 3 (01:19:46):
Yeah, I didn't think he could call a time out,
so he'll have to still be out here on this play.
So the second and goal from the one and just
six seconds left, so your backup quarterback is gonna have
to come in the game, and we'll see if they've
got a heavy pat I gets here and maybe trying
to go one play. It looks like all big guys
on the field here, Coach mccrackett, I know who's getting
(01:20:07):
the snap, but it is definitely a wild cat. Look here,
looks like number eleven cross Land as the backup quarterback.
He comes in the game. He's a big fellow. Two
Land gets it. It dropped on the ground and they
gonna get a false start on the offense. Here the
right tackle a second move from Auburn and that's a
(01:20:30):
five yard penalty here, and that doesn't count as a play.
So now they're going to try a field goal here
with six seconds left, and let's see if where number
twenty six is Xavier Thomas. He has blocked the last
two and the kicker has missed one. What a huge
stop regardless if they make this, Coach McCracken hold them
(01:20:52):
to three. Here Joseph Daniels missed one and had two blocks.
Here's the snap hold and the kick this time is
through the upright. So the Tigers finally able to get
one through on their fourth field goal attempt of the night,
and that gives the Tigers a ten to nothing to
(01:21:13):
lead here with two seconds left in the first half.
But Matt McCracken want to stop there by the defense
to hold them to three?
Speaker 8 (01:21:20):
Got that, right, Van, that's another victory right there, big
time that don't wait on the one yard line, all right,
So we get the ball here, We're gonna have to
just you know, whatever happens here, we got to take
in the locker room. I think I think they get
the ball, correct, that's right. Yeah, So yeah, defensively, just
keep going. But offensively, he's gonna be the key to halftime,
so we're gonna have to figure out how to get
(01:21:40):
some points.
Speaker 5 (01:21:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:21:41):
Absolutely been a struggle offensively, and I guess that's probably
the question to ask coach heading in the locker room, Coach,
what do you do to find some offense in the
second half? I mean, you gotta figure out a way
to move the line of scrimmage, get the run game,
because right now it's been tough sledding against the Tigers defensively,
where those seconds left ten nothing Tiger lead, a first
(01:22:06):
half dominated by the Tigers, certainly some highlights Roe Polaika,
though defensively able to come up with some huge stops
and key situations, none bigger than two block field goals
too by Xavier Thomas. Well, here's the Tigers Joseph Daniel
(01:22:26):
end over end kick now, and I'm gonna give a
chance for CJ here to return the William Let's take
it back here at the fifteen yard line, though CJ
will be brought down at the twenty yard line. That
will be the end of the first half. So well
that Mac McCracken catch up with coach Brian Moore as
he heads into the locker room. Find out what coach
has to say. I want to see Mac down around
(01:22:48):
the twenty yard line awaiting coach Brian Moore as the
Tigers will take a ten to nothing lead into the
locker room. Here in this one hundred meeting between o
Pelaika and Auburn, the first half that has been.
Speaker 2 (01:23:04):
Really dominated.
Speaker 3 (01:23:07):
By the Auburn Tigers, and offensively, Auburn's done a really
nice job cleaning up a lot of mistakes from last
year are from last week. Rather, all right, MATC, go
ahead when you get coach go thanks love, Coach Warren,
I was.
Speaker 8 (01:23:26):
With you at tuddle. You're talking about your defense just
on the field all night only ten to nothing. Special
teams came up big offense is butter, what do we
gotta address it?
Speaker 6 (01:23:35):
Half, I mean, we're losing a line of scrimmage up
front offensively and we have to win, you know, we
we have to run the ball success we did last
year in the game. It's disappointing, man, it's been disappointing
all night. We had two offensive first downs, defenses fighting
their guts out, but at some point you run out
of steam, you know, and so we're got to keep
the ball and get our pitch count up and keep
(01:23:55):
our defense on the field.
Speaker 2 (01:23:55):
For a while.
Speaker 3 (01:23:56):
Let's go talk to you dogs. Thanks mam, all right,
thanks so much. Act right now, ten nothing our score
and heading into the locker room. That's coach Brian Moore.
Obviously you can tell coach mccrack and he's a gotta
find a way to get some my fits. And it's
I mean, I don't know how you got I mean,
you've got to go to the drawing board and figure
something out because you know our fit. Now, what do
you do, coach, You're a coach in this situation.
Speaker 4 (01:24:17):
Well, First of all, he needs to see if Johnson's okay.
He looks like he's limping to may still that he
he's not completely well.
Speaker 2 (01:24:25):
Oh yeah, they no doubt, no doubt about that. And uh,
and Waits is the only other runner they got cool
will you got well, you got Waits and see J.
Johnson and the quarterback is not a runner. He's not.
He doesn't look to me like he's gonna going to run.
So that that leaves C. J.
Speaker 4 (01:24:44):
Johnson, Uh and uh the other two guys and Nelson
might need to come in the game and try to
run the ball.
Speaker 2 (01:24:53):
They've got to and they're not throwing it either. They're not.
They're not and he's successful.
Speaker 3 (01:24:59):
Look, I gotta find a way to move that offensive line,
and right now it's been been tough going to find
that move that defensive line. Ten nothing again our halftime score.
Albert with the lead. We'll take a time out, come back,
and we'll have Jason Lee long Now many scores around
the state, but we'll have some first half stats for us,
So we'll continue with our halftime. After this, you listen
to Bulldog football here on the kicker. We're back here
(01:25:28):
just about a minute away. Till we get the second
half underway. Van Ridge, alongside legendary coach Spitzer McCracken. Mac
McCracken roam in our sidelines tonight mag What did this message?
I know a lot talked about in the locker room.
Speaker 2 (01:25:40):
I imagine.
Speaker 8 (01:25:41):
Yeah, you know, he addressed them before they went upstairs
and had their coaches meeting and then went down and
came back down and had the individual meetings. But you know,
it's just like you said, you know, halftime, he you know,
prout of the defense, keep playing, keep playing hard and offensively.
Speaker 7 (01:25:54):
Hey, you know, we gotta grow up. We gotta get something.
Speaker 2 (01:25:56):
We're getting whooped.
Speaker 7 (01:25:57):
Up and down the field, and you know, you just
got a challenge them and they know, I mean, it's Oliver,
it's their out.
Speaker 2 (01:26:02):
We're game.
Speaker 7 (01:26:02):
They gotta you know, they gotta just step it up here.
That's why Hey, footballs two have boys. You know, it
ain't it ain't ever over.
Speaker 3 (01:26:10):
Yeah, thanks so much, Mack McCracken. Four seasons Federal Credit
Union Sideline Report. Again, We're coming to you from the
Orthopedic Clinic Broadcast booth. East Alabama's go to center for
orthopedic care Defense will be called upon to get a
stop here in the second half as Auburn high we'll
get the football to start up with a ten to
nothing lead, and their kick return team heads onto the
(01:26:31):
field and oplaika, we'll send out the kickoff team, Priest Beasley.
Speaker 2 (01:26:38):
Kicking it away.
Speaker 3 (01:26:40):
Well, I tell you a story of the first half,
Coach McCracken. Those two block field goals and a missed
field goal by Auburn, you know can have them with
six more points up on the board, and very fortunate
to have this ten to nothing only a ten nothing
deficit right now.
Speaker 4 (01:26:55):
I just really disappointed in the run game and to
throw game offense just really a disaster tonight. I have
never seen this play with his little yardage. As we
get in the night.
Speaker 3 (01:27:12):
Man just joining us a quarterback starter for opal like
a Kolbe King not available tonight sideline with an illness
and stepping in for him in a tough situation tonight
has been Junior Fuller Young who gets his first star
and as a Bulldog tonight, and he had very limited
experience in his time as a Bulldog quarterback. Just in
(01:27:34):
really a mop up duty and a tough situation for
him to step into end over end kick seals out
of the back of the end zone. Really good kick
and there's a flag down, But it looks like this
may be a rekick opportunity to here for opel like
as maybe an off sides. I think at least it's
in that range. We'll see, hey, coachman kicking team five
(01:27:58):
yard pilot in a wee kid, and I'm gonna have
to back up five yards and rekick, so hopefully Reese
can still boot it in the end zone. He had
well enough leg on that one for five yards back
to get it in the end zone. But coach Brian
Moore shaking his head, and it's the little things that
he preaches every week. And the Dog's trying to get
(01:28:18):
a comeback here down ten, but it feels like a
I mean, coach, it really just feels like the Bulldogs
are down four scores right now the way the offense
is played in the first half. But you just need
one big play, maybe by the defense, a pick six,
a scoop scumble fumble score or anything like that. They
can get you right back in a ball game, you.
Speaker 4 (01:28:36):
Know, Yep, It's just you gotta have some offensive playmakers
and we're we're just not getting it done tonight.
Speaker 3 (01:28:45):
And now you've got to watch the dagger shot by
Auburn here to start this second half. I mean, I
would imagine coach Keith Etheridge and them and win in
the locker room going if we can score one more
quick on them, they may feel like they can take
the air out opal like a Sales Here in the
second half, Reese Beasley will need to get a good
leg into this one back up five yards with that penalty,
(01:29:06):
and Reese puts a boot into this one, it will
sail down inside the five. It will be returnable though
for the Tigers. Across the fifteenth ball popped out and
a Scugu Picks ducked on. The Bulldogs got it at
the twenty three yard line that day they the play.
The Bulldogs needed a fumble by Josh ask you I believe,
and the Bulldogs fall on it, and the Dogs will
(01:29:28):
have it at the Tiger twenty three yard line.
Speaker 2 (01:29:31):
Now this is a hey, a van, this is a
drive that they've got to make something happen.
Speaker 3 (01:29:36):
Xavier Thomas apparently the one that fell on that ball,
and boy has he been the dog of the game
so far. Two block punts and a fumble recovery, and
now the Bulldogs have it at the twenty four yard
line of Auburn is where they'll say first and ten.
Speaker 2 (01:29:52):
Now run the football at them, guys.
Speaker 3 (01:29:56):
Fuller Young back out and to start the second half
of quarterback, two white outs to the rights. Now they
bring a man in motion, they'll fake it to Washington.
Fuller drops back, throws a sideline pass, comeback round. It
was underthrown and the incomplete trying to get it to
Jordan Waits down the sidelines.
Speaker 2 (01:30:13):
I don't even think that guy ever saw the ball
that defender.
Speaker 3 (01:30:17):
That was intended for Jordan Waits looking like a little
wheel route, but it's incomplete. Second down and ten again
at the twenty four of Auburn. Well, right now, you
got to come away with a kit here and that
being at least a field goal or a touchdown. I
gotta come away with points here and this end of
the field. First time the Dogs have been here. From
(01:30:38):
the twenty four play action, they'll throw to c. J.
Speaker 2 (01:30:40):
Johnson.
Speaker 3 (01:30:41):
Here's something at the twenty one and CJ down to
the twenty yard line.
Speaker 2 (01:30:47):
So that's gonna be.
Speaker 3 (01:30:51):
A pickup of third and six four yards. So it'll
be third and six right. Coach, Yes, sir, so four
yards on the throw in catch hold On said, now
I've been able to break any tackles tonight on offense too,
Hope like our Auburn's done a really good job of
wrapping up.
Speaker 2 (01:31:08):
Eleven sixteen.
Speaker 3 (01:31:09):
Just can't make a mistake here, coach got to come
away with some points, whether it be three or six.
I formation, hear the hammer of the full back tail
back is c. J. Johnson. It'll be a quick inside
here of the Jordan Wait's nice, cous Darnin's got it
down inside the fifteen. He's gonna be close, depending on
the spot. They marked his knee down.
Speaker 4 (01:31:25):
At the tent.
Speaker 3 (01:31:26):
At the fifteen, he's gonna be a yard short. It'll
be fourth down in one, and the offense stays on
the field. Blake Johnson stays in. Jordan Wait stays in
the ball game, and they're gonna kick a field goal.
Boy the hammer frustrated, so hopul I can not gonna
(01:31:47):
take a chance on a fourth and one in a
lineup for the field goal here' and I have to.
Speaker 2 (01:31:52):
Get set up here.
Speaker 3 (01:31:53):
Play clock down to nine, down to eight, short field
goal from the left. Hash snamped down in the kick,
guys up and the kick is good. Reece Beasley knocks
it through and it's a ten to three ball game
with ten twenty one left here in the first half.
So I think that was big coach come away with points.
Coach bar didn't want a negative play there, and it's
(01:32:16):
ten to three, a seven point ball game with ten
twenty one left. That score and drive power by our
friends at open Laca Power Services. Well, the Bulldogs settled
for three and a field goal up and good bye.
Reese Beasley has the Dogs within seven. Now ten to
(01:32:38):
three and Coach McCracken, you know a call there that
that's where the coaches come in to play a fourth
and short. Dogs let to go for the field goal
imported to come away with some points there, and the
Dogs get three and they make it a ten to
three ball game. Last time, the Bulldogs got the football
because Auburn fumbled on the kickoff return, which was a
huge play in this game. And see if the Dogs
(01:32:59):
can make another big special teams play. So far the
Dogs have greater Nate Plus and special teams. Tonight got
a boy that one goes in the end zone. Special teams, right,
now is what's keeping opal like in this ballgame. Two
block punts, two block field goals. Auburn missed a field
goal and then Opelaikah converts on the field goals, certainly
winning that department right now in this game, it's been
(01:33:21):
the difference ten twenty one left third quarter, Auburn will
have it first and ten from there on twenty yard
line and we'll see Case and Myers and the Auburn
offense come out for the first time here in the
second half to shaven point game.
Speaker 4 (01:33:33):
TJ Thomas, Josh Davis, Mony Thomas, and Terres Thomas up
front continue with Carson Riddle also playing up front.
Speaker 3 (01:33:45):
Tigers with two white outs to the left side. Loan
back for the Tigers is Huff Myers. Drops back, It's
gonna take a shot way downfield and it is intercepted
by the Bulldogs. That's Graydon Howard. He's got a return
set up across the fifty, across the forty thirty five
thirty Howard down the sidelines and he's out of bounds
(01:34:05):
of the twenty.
Speaker 2 (01:34:05):
Two yard line.
Speaker 3 (01:34:06):
A big interception by Braiden Howard. He takes it down
to the Tiger twenty two hello defense.
Speaker 2 (01:34:16):
Look, he flies in the student section and.
Speaker 3 (01:34:18):
The Bulldogs a chance with a short field here to
possibly tie this game up at the Tiger twenty two.
Nice job, right, well, coach, they were thinking the same
thing we were thinking. Take a shot down field, and
Braiden Howard played center field nicely from the safety position
and intercepted that one single back. Set here CJ. Johnson
(01:34:39):
at the Tiger twenty two yard line. Let's punch this
baby in quick in sign handoff, here's Blake Johnson. Blake
hurdles a man and not down at the twenty yard line.
Not two, I think am just two yards for Blake,
who's running right now on you're adrenaline because it really
hampered ankle injury coming into this week. Set out last
(01:35:03):
week's game. Van to the right, Washington to the left,
and c J. Johnson is the tail back for the Bulldogs.
Second down to eight play at the twenty two of Auburn.
Young gets the hand off, He'll think it to CEJ.
Gives it to Washington. He's in trouble in the backfield
and Washington hit near the sidelines. He'll lose a couple
(01:35:23):
of yards back around the twenty three. They read that
one really nicely, and it'll be a third and long
coming up for the Bulldogs here, third and twelve. That
was bj McGee number one stringing that one out, and
they'll say he just lost a eleven.
Speaker 2 (01:35:40):
That will say it's like one.
Speaker 3 (01:35:44):
Yard back around the twenty one yard line, or actually
the twenty three third down and eleven. They thought the
Tigers jump, They'll check the sidelines, changing their play. Fuller's
gonna have to hurry up here. Down to six, down
to five, Coach Moore may have to call a time out,
down to three, down to two, and coach Moore comes
in and calls a time out before the play clock expired,
(01:36:07):
and Bulldogs trying to change their play and having to
burn a time out here, So time out on the field,
nine twenty six, a big third and eleven coming up
for the Bulldogs. A trail ten three to the Tigers
here with nine twenty six to go in the third quarter.
Speaker 2 (01:36:19):
We're back after this timeout.
Speaker 3 (01:36:27):
Dogs having to burn one of their early timeouts here
in this second half. Nine twenty six to go, third quarter,
Opalaika three Auburn ten and the Bulldogs a third and
eleven at the Auburn High twenty three yard line. This
will be a third down coming up for the Bulldogs.
Trying to con needing to convert here to keep this
drive going, another prime opportunity to getting the end zone.
Dogs settled for three their last trip out. You know,
(01:36:51):
they got Jordan Waits in the ballgame at the tailback
spot to the right of fuller Young, who's got to
wide out either side. Young drops back, fade passed towards
the end zone and Jay and goes up. Interference is
going to be a fifteen yard penalty. They mugged Jalen
in the back of the end zone and that's a
fifteen yard penalty and that will be enough for a
first down.
Speaker 2 (01:37:09):
Big play right there, big big beat.
Speaker 3 (01:37:12):
Yeah, big call. Coach Keith etherrege all the officials about
that one, but did not prove it. They didn't the
kid of that penalty. They didn't give Jalen an opportunity
to come back to the football, and they never turned around.
The defensive player never turned around.
Speaker 5 (01:37:30):
C J.
Speaker 3 (01:37:30):
Johnson Blake Johnson. Now first down and ten at the
thirteen yard line, and Puller Young quarterback keeper runs left
side and he has slung down. He'll lose a yard.
Speaker 2 (01:37:45):
Did he fumble that? Snap? Man? Did he fumble that? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:37:52):
Coach, that play started so quick. I just saw Fuller
out of the corner of my eye heading down to
the ground. Yeah, lost a yard though, back to the
fourteen yard line. It'll be second down and eleven at
the Tiger fourteen young out of the backfield play action,
Fuller batted down and took a hit.
Speaker 2 (01:38:14):
Number ninety nine.
Speaker 3 (01:38:15):
Carnel Jackson was in his face, hitting him as soon
as he got hit, and luckily that one was incomplete.
It'll be third down at the fourteen yard line of
Auburn eight forty one o'clock seen here in the third quarter.
Speaker 2 (01:38:29):
If somebody didn't block somebody, that's a.
Speaker 3 (01:38:31):
Big man coming through there at three hundred and thirty pounder.
He blew through the line. Two wide outs left, single
receiver right. Dog's need to try to keep this drive going,
try to tie it up here. Down seven ten to three,
Fuller changing the play at the line of scrimmage, plenty
of time, thirteen on the play clock. From the Tiger
fourteen yard line. It'll be third and eleven. John gets
(01:38:52):
the snamp, drops back, fade passed back of the end
zone and laying out forty in incomplete could not get
it to andre Van in the back corner of the
end zone. That was not a bad throw there at
all by Fuller Young, but just overshot andre Van. Here
comes the field goal team to try to make this
a ten to six ball game, at least a one
(01:39:13):
possession game. It's right in the middle of the field.
It'll be a thirty one yard field goal attempt by
Rhys Beasley, who is perfect so far on field goal attempts,
two for two on the season. This will be right
in the middle of the field here, good snap place
down and that kick is wide to.
Speaker 2 (01:39:34):
The left, pushed out one wide left. It's no good.
Ten to three.
Speaker 3 (01:39:40):
The score stays here with eight thirty left, and the
Tiger offense comes back out onto the field after this
time out. You listening to Bulldog football. Here on the
kicker Jaden King out of the time out, runs a
speed sweep left side and himed up pretty good there
by the Bulldogs short pick up there. It'll be a
second down and second round eight I think picked up
(01:40:01):
two yards up to the twenty two yard line. Eighth
eight and the clock starts back running actually picked up
right up to the twenty four twenty three. They'll say
second and seven ten three are score Albert on time
by seven. They got two whiteouts either side. Now, one
white out from the left side moves to the right,
(01:40:23):
lining up with three receivers to the right side. Case
and Myers drops back and hit as he throws, and
he underthrew it. Good pressure there by the Bulldogs by
Terres Thomas go right there on the face of Case
and Myers that it's third and seven now for the Tigers.
Clock stot with seven forty five left here in the
third great play by Dress.
Speaker 2 (01:40:42):
Thomas, super that's what we need, and let's get this
third down.
Speaker 3 (01:40:45):
Stop here man, yeah, and you could hopefully shoot for
some good field position here.
Speaker 2 (01:40:52):
They've been going down the middle of the field.
Speaker 3 (01:40:55):
Short Tigers from their own twenty three yard line. Third
and seven. As the bulldog gets on their feet, two
white outs either sign for Myers and there's an early
start by the wide receiver. That's gonna be a five
yard penalty. Wide receiver here on the near side. Bj
Collins got an early jump for the Tigers offense five
(01:41:15):
yard there dump it'll be a five yard penalty and
we'll back up Auburn. So it'll be a third and
twelve now coming up for the Tigers.
Speaker 2 (01:41:25):
Get a good pressure on them.
Speaker 3 (01:41:26):
Now they'll be from their own eighteen now after that
loss on the play on that talty.
Speaker 2 (01:41:31):
Trey Stone and Carson Riddle in the game for the dog.
Speaker 3 (01:41:37):
Case and Myers out of the shotgun from his own eighteen.
Speaker 2 (01:41:40):
On third down pressure sack back of the nine yard line.
Speaker 3 (01:41:44):
Elijah Odin in there number thirty three brings down the
quarterback and a big play there by the death this
fourth down now in a mile as Myers was brought
down back at the ten yard line for a big
time loss on the play, a loss at eight on
that sack. Seven twenty two clock running and the Bulldogs
said it with some good field position again, Andre Van
(01:42:06):
stands on the right side of the fifty to return
this one, and the punter Joseph Daniel about five yards
deep in his end zone to catch this snap here
and punt it away. Dogs bring pressure and a high
hanging punch drifts Van all the way back into thirty
six yard line. He has to call for a fair
catch there and that was a great punt there by
(01:42:29):
Joseph Daniel. He punted that one.
Speaker 2 (01:42:32):
That's about a fifty four yard punt something like that.
Speaker 3 (01:42:35):
Yeah, that's round the dog about a fifty three yarder.
Who they needed that one and they got one. Yep,
fifty three yard punt.
Speaker 2 (01:42:47):
We got it.
Speaker 4 (01:42:48):
We can't have any more bad plays on offence, man,
we need to make something happen here.
Speaker 3 (01:42:55):
Dogs of their own thirty seven yard line fuller Young
back out Dogs trail ten to three. The Tigers with
six fifty eight left screen passed far side of the
field and Jalen Washington has a good work play across
the forty five. Jalen up to the forty six yard line.
That'll be good for.
Speaker 2 (01:43:13):
Nine yards.
Speaker 3 (01:43:16):
Actually, I'll mark him at the forty five, so it'll
be second out of two eight yard pick up there
by Jalen. Six thirty six o'clock running Tigers ten Bulldogs
three here the third quarter and Young hands the ball off.
Jordan Waits has a nice nifty moving by Jordan and
he gets up to the fifty yard line that will
(01:43:36):
move the chains. Elaborate transferring storage first down. A five
yard run by Jordan Waite rates the senior with them
some shifty moves and Greg Williams. The linebacker is cramping
one of the Bulldogs helping them stretch it out. Now
that's team work. Fair, good job, Jalen. Let a stretch out,
(01:43:58):
the stretch out the end Auburn high Tiger cramp. But
you know, the thing, coach about this game that they
all know each other, you know, I mean, they're all
buddies and they hang out. Back when you were coaching
in this coach, you guys were going to war every
Friday night and then you were war all week the
next week, and you didn't talk to each other, and
there wasn't no hanging out. And if anybody was dating another,
(01:44:18):
if they're across Dayton or whatever going on, that was.
Speaker 2 (01:44:21):
A war back in the day, wasn't. Man, you met
at either the.
Speaker 4 (01:44:24):
Derrick Queen or the Crystal and they had a fight.
Speaker 2 (01:44:26):
Every Saturday night.
Speaker 3 (01:44:28):
Yeah, well, at least it's a clean rivalry now. And
you know, you know, I know, Auburn's gonna eventually have
to split schools and it's gonna you know, it's gonna
be different with this rivalry moving forward. And you know,
three four or five years whenever it does happen, So
it'll be uh, it'll be different.
Speaker 2 (01:44:44):
There's no doubt about it.
Speaker 3 (01:44:45):
Head down the field, Force Easons Federal Credit Union Sideline report.
Speaker 2 (01:44:48):
Mac got an opportunity here.
Speaker 7 (01:44:51):
Yeah, hey, we you know, we were fortunate to get those.
Speaker 8 (01:44:54):
You know, we got the encroachment on the kickoff and
then got the turnover and you know y'all talked about,
you know.
Speaker 7 (01:44:58):
Going for that either on four than two right.
Speaker 8 (01:45:00):
There, but you know when you got to reward that
offense finally for some points right there, we got that
three points and a lot of celebration here on the sideline.
Then we get it again on the pick and you
know we even though we missed the extra point, but
our defense is fired up, got another three and out
again and uh, you know, great punt right there by Auburn.
Speaker 7 (01:45:18):
But hey, slowly, we're moving the ball here.
Speaker 8 (01:45:21):
Get on sustained drive and let's see if we can
let's see if we can keep the ball moving. Mix
it up here and let's say if we get in
the end zone because uh, you know, we're still missing
that six.
Speaker 7 (01:45:30):
But a lot of confidence here on the Dog sideline.
Speaker 2 (01:45:33):
Didn't need a big play back.
Speaker 3 (01:45:35):
Yeah, I told you, you know, the Bulldogs have not
been the second half team in this.
Speaker 2 (01:45:40):
Recent series.
Speaker 3 (01:45:43):
Maybe they can be the finisher in this one, the
one hundred meeting between these two teams here tonight at
Bulldog Stadium. Right now, it's a ten to three ball game,
Auburn with the lead six twenty three left in the
third quarter of the Dogs are at midfield with a
first and ten. Hopefully like I'm moving right to left
headed towards the indoor facility end zone here at Bulldog Stadium.
Speaker 2 (01:46:03):
We've got a.
Speaker 3 (01:46:05):
Television time out at the moment they're interview and it
looks like Kelly Fisher, Doctor Kelly or Miss Kelly Fisher,
and doctor Kevin Davis new superintendent back to play. It's
a hand off Jordan Waits. Waits a nice job they
can getting close to five yards. Waits just down to
the forty six yard line for a four yard pickup
every second down and six coming up for the Dog.
Speaker 2 (01:46:28):
Horbn Fears, Witlow and Mason over there on that right side.
Good job, guys. Then at Young comes out of the game.
Speaker 3 (01:46:34):
You can still tell he is favoring his knee coming
out of the game and just not one hundred percent
for him either, another but big receiver for the Bulldogs.
Blake Johnson lighted up as a wide receiver that he'll
come in motion, and here's a fake toss and Fuller
drops back. He's one deep down field and he just
overshot Andre Van inside the ten yard line. You could
(01:46:57):
see the arm there from Fuller. He's got the strength,
but double coverage on the back side there. Got was
really good discipline by Auburn not to bite on the
playfake and you hoped it would be a lot more
open than it was there. Third down and six coming
up for the Bulldogs at the Tiger forty six. Good
discipline by the defense there for Auburn. Five thirty seven
(01:47:20):
left in the third. Now it'll be a third down
and six at the Auburn high forty six yard line,
wide out either side, full or Young out of the shotgun.
Young gets the snap hands of the CJ.
Speaker 2 (01:47:32):
Johnson.
Speaker 3 (01:47:33):
CJ's got a first down inside the forty and CJ
carries it down to the thirty seven yard line. That
is a nine yard pickup, our eight yard pickup, and
it'll be a Lambert transfer in storage first down.
Speaker 2 (01:47:45):
That's Fears, Whitlow and Mason are getting on that right side.
They're hammering that right side.
Speaker 3 (01:47:51):
Van Young out of the shot gun of the thirty
seven of Auburn hand off left side, CJ trying to
get outside. CJ stip arms a man, but he's cutting
down at the thirty six yard It'll be a one
yard pickup. Cortes Cooks on the stop there for Auburn.
Another Tiger down and maybe another cramp. This is actually
Isaac Benford, number four, who is cramping down on the field.
(01:48:13):
We got an official time out five o' eight left
in the third, ten to three, Auburn with the lead.
We're back after this here on the kicker, Isaac Benford,
the injured player for the Tigers, who is heading off
on his own power off to the Tiger sideline at
(01:48:35):
the thirty six yard line. Opalak will have a second
down to nine when play resumes. Bulldogs down by seven
right now ten to three. Finding some offense ground game
going and back in at running back Jordan Waits, who's
had some good carries here on this drive. Two wide
receivers to the left, Fuller throws here near side Jalen's
kind of turns up field thirty five and Jalen out
(01:48:57):
of mounds close to the thirty yard line down zone
right here. Now they'll mark him at the thirty one.
That was a seven yard pickup. Third down, third and
four coming up. We gotta get this first down at
the thirty one of Auburn.
Speaker 2 (01:49:14):
Come on, Dogs.
Speaker 3 (01:49:15):
Big third down coming up here for the Bulldogs. Third
and four. Waits the tail back, Fuller gets the snamp
play action. Fuller drops back, throws deep downfield, trying to
get it to Andre Van. Kipton batted around two men
there and they knock it away.
Speaker 2 (01:49:30):
Good job.
Speaker 3 (01:49:31):
The Tigers took converge on that pass from Fuller. Young
and I think coach Moore is going to keep the
offense out here on fourth down at this point. I
don't know how many times your offense is going to
get down here in Tiger territory. Andre Van did a
heck of a job when double coverage almost coming down
with that one. Yep, gave his guy a chance. Bulldogs
(01:49:56):
will go with two whiteouts either side. Jordan waits to
the right here. Fourth down, Dogs going forward at the
Tiger thirty one, Needing to keep this drive going. Fuller
gets the stamp, drops back, rolls to his right. Fuller,
looking down field, throws back and it is holding a
collar the twenty two yard line by Jalen Washington.
Speaker 2 (01:50:15):
What a snag.
Speaker 3 (01:50:16):
Fuller kept his eyes down field and mister Young took
a shot, stayed in there like a champ, and completed
a big pass down to the twenty one yard line.
Speaker 2 (01:50:26):
Come on, guys, run the ball now. Let's go.
Speaker 3 (01:50:29):
Ten yard pickup and a Lambert transfer in storage.
Speaker 2 (01:50:31):
First down.
Speaker 3 (01:50:33):
Bulldogs line up first and ten at the Tiger twenty
one yard line. Fuller throws screen past Jalen's got it
made a man miss inside the twenty down at around
the eighteen yard line. He picks up around four yards
depending on the spot. Looks like three to the nineteen. Well,
(01:50:56):
I'll give him the eighteen three yards though, Second down
and seven coming up.
Speaker 2 (01:51:01):
CJ.
Speaker 3 (01:51:02):
Johnson back in the game. Good rotation here by these
Bulldog running back saying the snap bibled away and the
Tigers fall on it. A big turnover there by the Bulldogs.
That snap got away from Fuller and was kicked off
the foot and the Tigers come up with a big
turnover with three fifty two left. Oh, those things will
(01:51:25):
drive you crazy, the little things. After doing all that right,
and that one got away from the quarterback and oh
you got to make those big plays, yep, trying to
get the football back and it scooted away. Three fifty
two turnover. Tigers back with the football from there on
(01:51:45):
eighteen yard line. From the eighteen case admirers, with trips
to the right side and up to the twenty two
yard line is Jaden Huff four yard pickup. Carson Riddle
(01:52:06):
on the stop for the Bulldogs. Second down and six.
After that four yard pickup, three thirty one remaining here
in the third quarter, trips to the right side, Myers
out of the shotgun and a handoff again goes to Hunt,
got up in the backfield there by Norman Matthews. That's
a loss back to the round the twenty one yard line,
(01:52:32):
loss of one. It'll be third down and seven coming
up here for the Tigers, so they'll say no gain
on the plug. Pretty good spot. Trips to the left,
single receiver to the right, and coach Brian Moore has
to come in and call another tie him out, and
he is very frustrated with the defense and he saw
(01:52:54):
something he did not like and had too many men
I believe on the field. So Dogs almost came up
with a huge penalty there, and coach more quickly comes
in there and calls a time out. So we're two
fifty six left here in the third quarter. We will
keep it right here, and coach boy, it's hard to
come back from mistakes like that.
Speaker 2 (01:53:14):
But the Bulldogs, I will say this, they've.
Speaker 3 (01:53:16):
Been down on the match so many times tonight they've
been able to pick themselves back up. And here's a
third down. Gotta do it again. Yeah, you gotta score.
Speaker 4 (01:53:23):
We gotta, we gotta get ooh, we gotta get some
points too, but we gotta keep playing defense.
Speaker 2 (01:53:29):
Good job well back.
Speaker 3 (01:53:30):
I know it was a tough one down there on
that last play, but defense again has come up time
and time again and got to call the call, call
them in again to come up with a big stop.
Speaker 7 (01:53:40):
We keep dialing them up.
Speaker 4 (01:53:42):
Van.
Speaker 7 (01:53:43):
Yeah, that was, uh, that's tough on just I guess
the snap.
Speaker 8 (01:53:46):
Went low and shot off Fuller's cleat and then went
forward across the line. Yet that's a that's one of
those that have just kill you right there, and to
drive yet all the momentum. But you know, hey, look
at the Dogs defense right here. A third get them
all get back right here past.
Speaker 3 (01:54:01):
Yeah, absolutely haickme back third and seven.
Speaker 2 (01:54:03):
Watch a quarterback running the ball.
Speaker 3 (01:54:05):
It's a five wide look here, three to the right,
two to the left side, empty backfield here for Case
and Myers. On third and seven. Myers drops back throws
and it is caught at the thirty two yard line.
That is for a first down, and that'll move the
chains eleven yards on the throw and catch. Josh ask
you again there on the reception for the Tigers, and
(01:54:26):
pressure was coming in on Myers, but he stayed in
the pocket and delivered a good throw for a first down.
Speaker 2 (01:54:30):
They had too deep and he just split that safety
over there.
Speaker 3 (01:54:34):
They'll give him the thirty three yard line, So twelve
yards on that reception. First and ten Tigers. They lead
ten to three, two thirty eight left in the third
here in this one hundred meeting between Opelika and Auburn,
and the Tigers hand the ball off up the middle
and a nice stop there by the Bulldog defense all
over Norman Matthews and Elijah Odin in there on the
(01:54:56):
tailback Caleb Thomas who got popped at the line of scrimmage.
Speaker 2 (01:55:03):
See he picked up a yard? Did they give him
a yard?
Speaker 3 (01:55:06):
No idea that was some good forward progress there. Two
o eight clock continuing to run here in the third quarter,
it'll be second down to nine for the Tigers from
their on thirty four yard line. Come on d two
white outs right, single receiver to the left side, case
Ad Myers, out of the shotgun. Myers rolls here to
(01:55:27):
the near side, keeping his eyes down field, throws and
it is caught at the thirty six yard line. The
boy Coach Moore comes in quickly and says incomplete. They
say dropped the ball, and officials both say catch. Coach
Moore is beside himself at the forty six yard line.
They'll give him the yardage. That's a twelve yard pickup downfield.
(01:55:55):
Boy Coach Moore is living in the white hat coming in.
He wants to have a word with officials, trying to
get some clarification. I learn gonna they're gonna give him there.
Speaker 5 (01:56:11):
On the field, the receiver did not complete the cap
all the way to Brown.
Speaker 2 (01:56:14):
Good.
Speaker 3 (01:56:15):
Let's see the replay here. Yeah, that was an incomplete pass.
That was the right call. Coach Ethard's when he goes
back and sees the replay, he'll he'll understand that one.
But I'm certainly not happy with the call there, and
we can't.
Speaker 4 (01:56:29):
Hey, they're gonna try to throw it right down the
middle of field. Van, we got too deep and they've
got to be able to not let the guy go
to the middle of the field.
Speaker 3 (01:56:38):
Coach Keith Eart's gonna call a time out. Want some clarification,
and uh, it was the right call, as we see
on the replay. But Auburn's staff over there and not
happy of course, on the Bulldog's sideline that Opalaika got
a call down. Third down and eight, Coach Moore saying,
(01:57:00):
get up, wanting the Opalaka fans to get up here.
Third and nine, ten, three are score one thirty four
remaining here in the ball game. Coach Ether, it's given
an earful to the white hat, and it'll be from
the thirty four yard line. A third down coming up
(01:57:23):
here for the Tigers. Third down and nine. After that
incomplete pass.
Speaker 2 (01:57:27):
They gonna throw it right in the middle of the field.
Speaker 6 (01:57:29):
Van.
Speaker 3 (01:57:30):
Yeah, they're coming to take a shot. You know what,
defense better be ready.
Speaker 2 (01:57:33):
They got those two slots and donna split those two.
We gotta get pressure on this sky five wide.
Speaker 3 (01:57:40):
Look here, Casey Myers out of the shot gun low snap,
just got it up, throws across the middle of the
field and it is complete across the middle at the
fifty yard line, coming down with it as Jaden King.
A great pass on the money there from quarterback case
and Myers, and it's completed down to the forty nine
yard line of Opelaka. Seventeen yard throw on que from
coach cracking there across the middle and a Tiger first down.
Speaker 2 (01:58:02):
Dude, that's exactly what you're gonna get.
Speaker 3 (01:58:05):
And they hand off up the middle to Jaden Huff
and Huff's one of his better carries down to the
forty four yard line. Opalaika read really needs to get
to the end of the quarter here and get a
breather for this defense. Exits second down and four coming
(01:58:26):
up here for the Tigers. Second and five actually under
a minute now to go here in the third quarter
as Auburn leads at ten to three, Tiger's on the
move after a big third down completion there from Cason
Myers to Jade and King. There gonna throward again van
five wide look again here for the Tigers. Three to
the right, two to the left. Now a man in
motion from right to the left. They'll take it to
the motion man quarterback, keep her up the middle and
(01:58:48):
close to the first down down to the forty yard line.
Myers has four yards. He'll be a yard shy of
the first down. Under thirty seconds to play here in
the third it'll be a third and one coming up
here for the Tiger Bulldogs need a break here, be
nice for a fumble by the Tigers. I think Auburn's
(01:59:10):
gonna let it wind down to the fourth quarter. Down
to eleven, down to nine, and we will head to
the fourth here in a seven point ball game here
in the one hundred medium between Hopelaika Ann Auburn hadn't
been a pretty one, but the Dogs are hanging in there.
Ten to three as we head to the fourth light
show coming on. Maybe this defense will get fired up
(01:59:31):
here and come up with a big stop. Give the
dogs a chance in this one, and we are headed
to the fourth ten to three here, let's know what
like a bulldog football here on the kicker ready to
start the fourth quarter. It will be third down and
(01:59:52):
one at the forty yard line. Tigers with the football
moving right to left here in a ten three ball game,
it's the Tigers with the lead case Admyer's out of
the shot and he's got three to the right, two
receivers to the left. Waiting on the TV Q for
replay here.
Speaker 2 (02:00:07):
As we'll wait.
Speaker 3 (02:00:11):
And still waiting on a commercial time out here as
this game televised on Alabama Public Television. Both these teams
are ready to go, getting a little extra breather here
case admirers and the Tigers a lot of swagger there
from the quarterback, a little bouncing his step as he
(02:00:32):
looks around waiting to play.
Speaker 2 (02:00:34):
This third down be a big down here.
Speaker 3 (02:00:36):
I'm sure the Tigers will go for it here on
fourth down in one and if the Bullos had come
up with a stop and you got a wonder another
quarterback run coming here, coach, Yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (02:00:46):
Think I think he gave's got another down. I'm either
that or he's gonna run to speak sweet.
Speaker 3 (02:00:53):
Yeah, they could go for it on fourth down as well.
All right, waiting ready for play now, looks like TV is.
Speaker 4 (02:01:05):
Uh uh.
Speaker 3 (02:01:06):
I don't like Myers is gonna have to come out
something issue wise on his wrist or maybe got some blood.
They're gonna have to bring in the backup quarterback here,
and they're bringing in a heavy set package.
Speaker 2 (02:01:19):
It looks like.
Speaker 3 (02:01:22):
And as a quarterback, case of Myers has to come
out and we'll see if they have yet to start
the play clock. Well, Myers is going to come back in.
Speaker 2 (02:01:34):
Now.
Speaker 3 (02:01:35):
They blow the whistle down to twenty four and twenty
three blood Owys get some substitutions in here as well.
Five wide, look here thirty one at the forty. As
we get ready for the first play of the fourth quarter,
man in motion, Myers checks. Now they'll set back again.
Two white outs left trips, receivers to the right, five
(02:01:57):
wide again here for Myers, third and one. Bulldog's saying,
all removed, and the Tigers call a timeout and their
staff halfway on the field fired up about their troops.
Speaker 2 (02:02:10):
They have to burn a timeout.
Speaker 3 (02:02:11):
So we have yet to run a player to start
the fourth quarter. And this will be a time out.
Here ten to three Tigers with the lead, and it
will be right back after this time out. You listen
to the Bulldog football, I'm the kicker. Well, we may
be ready for the first play of the fourth quarter.
(02:02:32):
After all that, a timeout already burned before the quarter
even begins. Cases Myers leads his offense now with a
five wide look now, three to the left side, that's
the short side of the field. Two to the wide
side of the field to the right here on third
and one, could be four down territory for the Tigers too.
They're at the opal like a forty to start in
the fourth quarter. Myers gets a low snap and he's
(02:02:53):
in trouble sack. That's good to be grounding incomplete. Well,
he did have somebody there in Rens, but he's not
going to get the grounding. But it will be fourth
down and one. We'll see what coach Ethridge and company
of the sides to do. Elijah Oden and Isaiah Gray
on coverage. Now, they're gonna keep the offence out going
(02:03:13):
for a heavy set package here on fourth down and one.
Speaker 2 (02:03:18):
What a huge, huge call here for coach Etheridge.
Speaker 3 (02:03:26):
Well, Myers the quarterback stays in there, but it's got
two big blockers to the left side, two white outs
to the right side. Jayden huff Is the tailback down
to three down to two does get the snap off
in a huff is gonna be a flag on the play.
They got a false start a five yard penalty there.
That's a false start and now that will bring the
(02:03:49):
punting team in. That was a big, big penalty right there.
I don't know if Huff was going to have enough
for the first down either. That was a good play
by the defense. But now it sends in Joseph Daniel
to punt it away with eleven fifty two left in
the game. Andre Van he's a good return man, boy.
A punt return for a touchdown will be huge right
here in a seven point ball game. As a Dog's
(02:04:11):
trail ten to three, eleven fifty two left standing around
the forty one to catch this punt. As Joseph Daniel
and the stamp from the forty five yard line is
a high hanging punt. Andre will no chance to return
this one, and he dropped it and it scoots out
of bounds. Thankfully at the nineteen yard line. That's the
(02:04:32):
first time Andre's let one hit the turf. But thankfully
that one got out of bounds and the Bulldogs avoided
a disastrous situation there. We're lucky the roll of the
football there and the Bulldogs will have it from their
own eighteen yard line. That is what those sky punts
will do. That was a really good one by Daniel.
Dogs they're on eighteen. Got to get some offense going down,
(02:04:53):
went only down seven ten to three. Here with eleven
forty one left in this ball game, out of the shotgun,
he's got two receivers to the right side and Jordan
Waits the tailpag Waits gets the hand off. Waits a
good run, moves that pile up close to the twenty
four yard line. That's going to be close to six
(02:05:14):
yards on the run there by Jordan Waits. That was
a really good run. It was a six yard pick
up there by Jordan. Second down and four with eleven
twenty five to go, two white outs to the right side,
the carrier and Young out of the shotgun throws here
near side. Jalen's got it. Jalen turns up field, tight
ropes the sidelines. He gets out of bounds at around
(02:05:36):
the twenty five yard line. That's it though. He picked
up one yard. And here comes third down and three
third down bold ogs from their on twenty five yard line.
They'll need to get to the twenty six for the
first down. And here's a tough run by Jalen Nelson
(02:05:57):
in the ball game, and Jalen gets the first down
up to the thirty one yard line. That's enough for
a laborate transfer in storage. First down. That's a six
yard run thereby Jalen Nelson. Jalen Nelson, a fresh back.
That was Jalen's third and carry of the season. Two
white outs to the right side. Jalen Nelson again the
handoff and Jalen this time met at the line of scrimmage.
(02:06:20):
Back does a good job pushing the pile of head
up close to the thirty six yard line. He picks
up five yards after he was in the hole.
Speaker 2 (02:06:26):
Nice run right there up.
Speaker 3 (02:06:29):
To the thirty seven yard line. Second down in five,
he picked up five yards ten thirty six o'clock running
this Auburnip Tiger defense. I think getting a little tired here.
Speaker 2 (02:06:39):
CJ.
Speaker 3 (02:06:39):
Johnson out checks in the ball game. Second down in five,
Young out of the shotgun. You know one gets the stamp,
hands it to CJ. CJ spinning his waist down on
this feat SATs across the forty five cross Smithfield seats
a broken CJ's inside the thirty twenty inside the fifteen
broke another tackle, five touchdown.
Speaker 6 (02:06:59):
C J.
Speaker 3 (02:06:59):
Jackson holy smokes seede J. Johnson with the run of
the game sixty three yard touchdown.
Speaker 2 (02:07:08):
CIEJ.
Speaker 3 (02:07:09):
Johnson, Welcome to prime time, CEJ.
Speaker 2 (02:07:14):
Oh my goodness, what a great run that was. CEJ Johnson. Folks,
what ain't playing? Look at him break that last tackle
right there. Vay, Oh my goodness, boy.
Speaker 3 (02:07:27):
J McGee tried to pull him down from behind. CJ
said no, sir, and the Dogs a point after away
from tying this one up. Here's Whip Cooper for the
whole these have been anything but automatic and emotion penalty on.
The Bulldogs are gonna back this extra point up five yards,
and every point counts in this game. And my goodness,
(02:07:53):
this just gives Reese extra time to think about this.
And it just has not been easy for the Bulldogs
to get these extra points up. They worked on it
after practice this week, over and over and over, and
you hope the reps pay off here and Reeska just
punks this baby through the uprights and the Bulldogs jumped again,
(02:08:16):
another five yard penalty, backing up five more yards.
Speaker 4 (02:08:23):
Retort.
Speaker 3 (02:08:24):
These are the little things you just can't have. Right now,
Auburn is up there on the line kind of moving around,
jumping around.
Speaker 4 (02:08:30):
And.
Speaker 3 (02:08:35):
We have a thirty yard field goal attempt. Now snap down,
kick is up and it is good boy, hold your
breath on an extra point. We are tied up at
ten score and drive power by Hople like a power
services hometown. People working for you online, don'ple like apower
(02:08:59):
dot Com. He had eleven left in the ball game
and the Bulldogs.
Speaker 1 (02:09:02):
Have tied it up.
Speaker 3 (02:09:04):
Boy, old boy, how about that coach McCracken, Boy, unbelievable
butt's had down Mack McCracken with the four seasons Federal
Credit Union sideline report.
Speaker 2 (02:09:20):
Mac Well coach war.
Speaker 8 (02:09:22):
Told him at halftime about offensively getting back to who
we are. We're Opalaika, we run the football. We lost
our identity in the first Let me tell you something.
Speaker 5 (02:09:34):
C J.
Speaker 8 (02:09:34):
Johnson bought that old school dog mentality. Run game, pumped
those legs, got him up, got them all with his chest,
would not go down, refuse to lose. We got ourselves
a tie ball game. Boys, Thank you, Mack.
Speaker 4 (02:09:48):
Boy.
Speaker 3 (02:09:49):
What a run sixty three yard touchdown there by mister C. J.
Speaker 2 (02:09:53):
Johnson. And I'd say he's ready for prime time, don't
you thank coach? Yes, Sir Van Rick.
Speaker 3 (02:10:01):
Refutable, All right, ten eleven left in the ball game,
and here is Reese Beasley to kick it off and
that'll fire your defense. That'll completely change this ball game.
Speaker 2 (02:10:12):
I knock this one in the ends on WA's his kickoff.
Speaker 3 (02:10:16):
So here's rees Beasley. He'll kick from left to right
to the Tigers. This one a shorter kick, but it
will drift into the dzone and it will not be returnable.
There By number seven, Joyce ask you Tigers fighting our
bulldogs finding some offense.
Speaker 2 (02:10:31):
And by way of C. J.
Speaker 3 (02:10:32):
Johnson and I will say this, how about Jaalen Nelson's
couple runs to set that one up?
Speaker 8 (02:10:36):
Cast in there?
Speaker 3 (02:10:38):
Yeah, Jalen has you know, only had three carries, but
a six yard run and an eleven yard run, and
you can't beat that. So here's Case and Myers and
the offense. We'll see if they try to go for
a big strike here. They are always known right when
the game gets tight to try to take a big shot.
Look for a deep pass here on a five wide
set here for the Tigers, they go three to the
(02:10:59):
right to the left side. Myers out of the shotgun,
gets the snap from his own twenty low snap. Myers
drops back throws and it is complete. Ascu's got it
around the thirty four yard line. That is good for
around fourteen yards. Jamiel Griffin on the star that.
Speaker 2 (02:11:18):
That snap was on the crown. It was and we
can get back there.
Speaker 3 (02:11:21):
And get to it fifteen yards on the completion there
from Myers to ask you to the thirty five yard
line first and ten Tigers were under ten to play
here in the ball game. A ten ten TI gap
tight now between Auburt and Opalika two to the right,
single receiver to the left side. They'll go to the
ground game and the back trip down that was Caleb
(02:11:42):
Thomas fell ahead for a yard up to the thirty
six and that's it.
Speaker 5 (02:11:46):
Play game.
Speaker 3 (02:11:49):
Nine thirty nine left. Boy, this game got extremely tight.
Who can make the big play here in the fourth
quarter this year in there's one hundredth meeting all between
Opelike and Auburn.
Speaker 2 (02:11:59):
All of Myers his.
Speaker 4 (02:12:00):
Passes are being caught in the middle of the field
about eight to ten yards down the field.
Speaker 2 (02:12:06):
That's where we got to get some linebacker help.
Speaker 3 (02:12:10):
Myers out of the shotgun with trips to the left side.
He fakes the toss, runs straight up the middle in
a good run for Myers up to the forty four
yard line. Tray Stone on the stop. But he gets
eight yards, it will be enough for a first down.
(02:12:32):
Then then a turnover here would be nice. Nine oh
three left. The defense has done so well tonight, bending
by not breaking and causing chaos at times. Bulldogs have
also picked off Myers tonight. Trips to the right too,
to the left five wide. Look on first down, Myers
in trouble, jumps it off and it's incomplete. Two bulldogs
(02:12:53):
back there. That was number ninety three. Josh Davis or
Big Josh was back there.
Speaker 2 (02:13:02):
That's pass ours life.
Speaker 3 (02:13:03):
Big Money Thomas also back there as well.
Speaker 2 (02:13:05):
They hitting too. They hit him. That's good.
Speaker 3 (02:13:08):
Got'll make them think about it. Tigers from there on
forty five After that in complete second and ten ain't
forty five left? Tied at ten?
Speaker 2 (02:13:17):
They looking right down the middle of the field again Van.
Speaker 3 (02:13:20):
Yes, they are trips to the left side. Singer received no.
Two receivers to the right, five wide. Look again, empty
backfield here for Kason Myers. The junior quarterback drops back, pump,
fakes left throw back and it is caught by Welks
and welts and ice tackle by the Bulldogs keeps him
at the forty nine yard line as he crosses midfield,
(02:13:41):
say right here, Van Riggs, antony o'welks guys on the reception,
and I believe Brayden Howard may be cramping a couple Bulldogs.
I believe cramping. And a time out here. It'll be
a third and four when play resumes. After this time out,
we're tied at ten, eight thirty three left in the
one hundred. But like an Auburn game and you're listening
to Bulldog football. Here on the kicker, huge down for
(02:14:11):
the Tigers. Here, third and four, right at midfield, at
the Bulldog forty nine yard line, needing four yards to
convert this first down. Myers out of the shotgun with
trips to the right. Myers drops, rolls to his right,
throws and it's incomplete. That one was dropped by the Tigers. Incomplete.
Tried to get it to pain and it's incomplete. It's
fourth down and the Tigers will have to punt it away.
(02:14:33):
Elijah Oden was there, and here comes the punting team
for the Tigers. Boy huge stopped there by the defense.
Coach Moore wants those guys off, and we wants to
give him a pat on the back. Andre Van will
drop back. Good job man to await this punt from
Joseph Daniel. Eight eighteen left in the ball game and
(02:14:55):
Dogs with an opportunity to put down a championship drive.
Hope Alike has got to burn their last time out
somebody not on the field that was supposed to be
out Alee and another time out here with ad eighteen
left and a time out there, and that is very frustrating.
(02:15:19):
Bulldogs are completely out of timeouts now with eight eighteen
left here in the ballgame.
Speaker 2 (02:15:25):
So frustration there on the sidelines for the Bulldogs. We'll
be right back.
Speaker 3 (02:15:27):
You're listening to Bulldog football. Tied at ten with eight
eighteen to go. Here on the kicker, Hope Alika having
to burn their last time out here with eight eighteen
to play. Late man not out for the Bulldogs, Andre
(02:15:49):
Van see if he can get a good return here.
They'll stand around the ten yard line and Joseph Daniel
has done a well of a job tonight punting for
the Tigers. Snap from midfield, they're going to fake you
throw down field and it is incomplete and the flag
comes in to bail them out. They're going to get
a hold on the Bulldogs. Oh my goodness, press interference,
(02:16:18):
Keith trying to get past interference. That was the Bulldogs
had it covered. But the play of the game right
there for the Tigers trying to get it over to
number three Levi Kelly, and good coverage by the Bulldogs.
But little two hands it down the far sideline, right
down the Auburn sideline and gonna be a fifteen yard penalty.
(02:16:39):
He'll be enough for a first down at the thirty
four of Opalaiko. Well, that shows you what Keith Etheridge
thought of that series. He knew he didn't want to
give the football back. Yeah, we saw the replay. Nothing there.
That was a tough one for the Bulldogs. They hand
the ball off. A nice job in the backfield, Terres Thomas,
(02:17:01):
two yard loss. Terre's in there to wrap up the
tailback right when he called it. Three yard loss, second
and thirteen coming up. Play play lost three yards, second down, thirteen,
back to the thirty seven yard line. This will be
(02:17:27):
second down and thirteen. He Myers drops back, sets fires
deep down field, got a man and he is under overshot. Boy,
I thought he was throwing it the deep man he
threw it to ask you there's a hold against Auburn
that's gonna back him up. But I think you decline this,
make it third down, Coach Moore. We'll see what he
(02:17:48):
decides to do. Does he want to back him up
or make it third down? Big decision here.
Speaker 2 (02:17:54):
Holding offense previous book, he's.
Speaker 3 (02:17:57):
Gone, You're gonna let him replay second down and take
the ten yard penalty. Settle back the Tigers up to
the forty seven yard line.
Speaker 2 (02:18:07):
We gotta get fanned. We gotta get pressure on.
Speaker 3 (02:18:09):
This guy now five wide. Look for the Tigers. We're
tied at ten, seven thirty three together, it's a second
down and twenty three now for the Tigers. Just across midfield,
they're moving right to left. Myers out of the shotgun
drops back Myers near side. It's complete forty five yard line.
Nice move and good job there by Antonio Wilkes getting
(02:18:29):
down the sidelines. But it'll be third down coming up
here for the Tigers around third and twelve at the
thirty seven yard line. That play was good for ten yards,
so got back the holding penalty. Seven oh five clock
running here in the fourth quarter, tied at ten. Tigers
(02:18:53):
taking their time. They'll stamp this one. They're on thirty
seven yard line. Bulldog fans on their feet. Third and
twelve making noise. Is a clock wine six forty six
to go. Myers drops back, Bulldogs brought the house. It's
complete short turning up field short of the first down,
(02:19:15):
down to the twenty five yard line at eleven yards
and it's gonna set up a fourth down and very
short for the Tigers. Fourth and one for the Tigers.
Carson Riddle on the stop for the Bulldogs at the
twenty five and we'll see at the Tigers, well, they
decide to do here on fourth down, six eighteen to go.
(02:19:36):
Here in the ball game, and we're tied at ten,
Tigers keeping their offense out on the field.
Speaker 2 (02:19:40):
He's gonna run the ball.
Speaker 3 (02:19:43):
Need to come up with a fourth down. Stop here,
fourth and one at the twenty five, Bulldog's ship trips
receivers to the left, Myers quarterback keeper. He's got enough
for the first down. He's down to the twenty three
yard line. That's enough for a first down. And the
clock stopped on that first down was six minutes to go.
There's to be a full time and we got a
(02:20:04):
time out on the field, and they say this will
be a full media timeout, so we will step aside
as well. Tied at ten, six to go here in
the ball game, and the Tigers with a first and
ten at the Bulldog twenty three. When we come back
here on the kicker, let's hand head down for a
(02:20:27):
four seasons Federal Credit Unit Sideline report. Matt, what you
got down on the field?
Speaker 7 (02:20:31):
You have one more stomp Van? You know that's all that.
Speaker 8 (02:20:34):
I mean, they're shooting, they're playing, they're playing their tails
off and this you know that first down right there.
I know Auburn's giving it. I mean, this is this
is gonna be turning on a b exciting ending. But
we got to get a stop here. That oh man,
that that fake punt pass interference call. That that that hurt, right,
Oh yeah, I mean that hurt big time. Turn the
(02:20:54):
whole momentum. But you know, hey, we still got still
got to keep them out. If we go to a
field goal, we.
Speaker 7 (02:21:00):
Go down there and win this thing with a touchdown.
Speaker 3 (02:21:02):
So hey, Mac, if they score, you go down and
win it with a two point conversion.
Speaker 2 (02:21:05):
Here you go here, you go by the way you
cut it. If you get down there and score, you
go for the win.
Speaker 8 (02:21:10):
Well, let's see if we can so get that old
turnover van that you always talk about here.
Speaker 7 (02:21:15):
See if they put it on the apron.
Speaker 3 (02:21:16):
I see, I probably like it. Matt McCracken four season
Federal Credit Union Sideline Report. I also want to thank
the Worths Peedic Clinic, coming to you from the Orth's
Peedic Clinic broadcast booth. They've been participating in this rivalry
game for forty five years. They were honored tonight before
the game, big sponsors of Bulldog football.
Speaker 2 (02:21:32):
Ten at ten ball game.
Speaker 3 (02:21:33):
Six minutes to go here in the fourth quarter, Glad
you're with us, Van Rigs Loside, Jason Lee mc McCracken,
Spence McCracken, Hall of Fame coach, Tigers down to the
twenty three yard line first and ten. I'll fake it
and the quarterback runs ahead of the sixteen yard line,
so a good run there by Myers gets close to
six yards and that'll set up a second out and
(02:21:55):
four for the Tigers. Had the seventeen of Opelaika gotta
come up with a stop here five thirty three left
second down play coming up here for the Tigers at
the seventeen brings a man in motion from right to left.
Myers drops back, pressured, throws back across the middle, diving
(02:22:19):
catch for a Tiger touchdown. Cash Reef with a catch
in the end zone and a flag comes in for
celebration and a five to eleven senior comes through with
the big catch. He had a big drop earlier in
the game where he might have scored on but comes
through there with a nice grab a twenty seventeen yard
(02:22:43):
touchdown catch o condo to get.
Speaker 7 (02:22:47):
The offense at fifteen year od bloody it being points
and then ensue it kick.
Speaker 3 (02:22:50):
Off fifteen yard penalty big two because Opelaika may be
able to set up a return to a sixteen to
ten ball game right now, Joseph Daniel setting up for
the extra point. They have a snap down good and
the kick is up and the extra point good by
(02:23:13):
the Tiger. Seventeen ten Auburn with the lead with five
seventeen to go. Bulldogs that will have a chance to
get the football back when we return. You're listening to
Bulldog football right here on ninety seven point snipping kicker
FM five seventeen left in the ball game, where on
(02:23:39):
the short end of things right now, seventeen ten as
Auburn leads this one with five seventeen to go, a
great pass from case Ad Myers to cash Reef Johnson
Baby get a chance to return here is this unsportsmanlike conduct.
Finally backs this up to the twenty five yard line.
Is where this one is teed up. Anders will have
(02:24:00):
a short kick. It'll be returnable.
Speaker 5 (02:24:02):
C J.
Speaker 3 (02:24:02):
Johnson had a big return for the big run for
the Bulldogs. See if you can get a good one here.
Hit at the thirty and cut down right there at
the thirty two, big time tackle there by Carter Chambley.
CJ unable to get a big return there gets it
up to the thirty two yard line right so the
(02:24:25):
thirty yep thirty where they mark him down at first
down over Leco should be the thirty two.
Speaker 2 (02:24:35):
It is okay.
Speaker 3 (02:24:38):
Dogs, they're on thirty two down seven with five twelve
to go. Got to get something going here. Fuller Young
out of the shotgun formation, gets the stamp hand off
to CJ. And he's wrapped up in the back. For
you lost two maybe three. They will say forward progress
at around the thirty so he lost two yards. It'll
(02:24:59):
be second down in twelve four fifty five to go
and albrough ten of their ears back right now, four fifty.
They got all the momentum after that touchdown, and they're
playing with a little swagger right now. Bulldogs got to
get something going here on I fence. Second down, Young
play action and an ice catch by Bennett Young up
(02:25:20):
to the.
Speaker 2 (02:25:20):
Forty one yard line.
Speaker 3 (02:25:21):
Good reception for eleven yards, but he's gonna be a
yard shy of the first down. It'll be third down
and one hammer comes in the game. We've got Jordan
Waits in the ball game. Fuller will still go out
of the shotgun here on third and one for twenty
one to go in the ball game. Dogs down by seven.
Here's seventeen to ten. Fuller gets the snap hand off.
(02:25:43):
Nice move by Jordan Waits to get the first down.
He was hemmed up in the backfield and made a
nifty move to get up to the forty four yard line,
enough for a Lambert transfer and storage first down. Plenty
of time to go, Bulldogs with no timeouts, four oh
nine to go, Come on, let's go.
Speaker 2 (02:25:58):
This has got to be the drive you score. We're
on here.
Speaker 3 (02:26:01):
Two wide right, single receiver left going out of the shotgun,
hands the ball in the backfield.
Speaker 2 (02:26:07):
Here's a good run by Jordan Waits.
Speaker 3 (02:26:08):
He's got the first down, Waits still on his feet,
Waits up to the forty two yard line. El Say's
down at the forty three yard line. But that was
a good run of thirteen yards in a Lambert transfer
in storage, first down. Jordan comes out, gets a quick breather.
Bulldogs slow things down a bit for three forty seven
(02:26:29):
to go. Jalen Nelson checks back in the ball game.
Nelson across the forty Nelson at the thirty five yard
line here, and that's where they'll bring him down. But
that was a good run of eight yards there by
Jalen Nelson.
Speaker 2 (02:26:41):
Come on, let's go. Let's bulldogs.
Speaker 3 (02:26:43):
Bulldog's getting a little pushed down on the Tiger defense here.
Late in this with three twenty eight to go, seventeen
to ten ball game here, Dog's down by seven, but
on the move here Jalen Nelson stays in the ball game.
Speaker 2 (02:26:56):
Nelson. Good run again.
Speaker 3 (02:26:57):
Nelson inside the thirty and down to the twenty nine
yard yard line. That's gonna be a first down six
yard run there by Jalen Nelson. A Lambert transfer in
storage first down.
Speaker 2 (02:27:06):
Come on, Aubert's tired. They are They got all that
got their hands on the hips.
Speaker 3 (02:27:12):
Come on, man, some of the Bulldog off fit. Some
b lineman do too. They got to suck it up here.
Three ten to play, Dogs down by seven. Hand off
in the backfield c J.
Speaker 2 (02:27:22):
Johnson.
Speaker 3 (02:27:22):
CJ broke a tackle, stays on his feet. CJ's down
to the twenty yard line. That's a nine yard run
by CJ. Johnson. Second down in one coming up for
the Bulldogs, and boy ninety nine can barely pick himself up.
Carnel Jackson, he's having a run off the field. Bulldogs
need to go here. Well, he can't get off the field.
Got to snap the ball, taking their time, letting some
(02:27:45):
clocker run. Hand off to CJ. Johnson. He's got the
first down. They're facing the pile down to the fifteen
yard line. Let's go Lambert transfer in storage. First down,
two thirty six to play and down to the fifteen
yard line. First down, Bulldogs at the Tiger fifteen, trailing
(02:28:06):
seventeen ten.
Speaker 2 (02:28:07):
CJ.
Speaker 3 (02:28:07):
Johnson runs right in the heart, got a board of
the Tigers and somehow popped up the other end inside
the ten yard line. Down to the eight yard line.
Holy cow, eight yard run by CJ.
Speaker 2 (02:28:21):
Johnson.
Speaker 3 (02:28:21):
Now the Tigers see you go down on the field.
They are winded and the Bulldog offense is marching down
the field with two fifteen left, seventeen ten a time
out on the field. We're back after this. You're listening
to Bulldog football. Here on the kicker Andreye on the
(02:28:45):
field right there for the Tigers, number thirteen, Cameron Creighton
comes off, and you have both teams a little bit
of breather, both teams very tired. It'll be a second
down and four when plague resumes for the Bulldogs. And
hope alika right now, Coach McCracken moving on down the
field inside the tent down at the eight yard line
of Auburn can get a first down inside the five.
Speaker 5 (02:29:07):
C J.
Speaker 3 (02:29:08):
Johnson as the tailbag full er young telling the troops
to calm down a bit and fumble the ball and
it's on the deck. They scramble for it and boy, hopell,
I guess they and they don't have it at the
fifteen yard line. Tigers come up with it. Fumbled snap
(02:29:36):
and the Tigers come up with it. Oh my goodness,
dogs were marching it down the field and a fumble
stamp Tigers come up with it. Seventeen to ten, Auburn
(02:29:59):
with the lead. They're back with the football, one fifty six.
The stands are clearing out here at Bulldog Stadium. Boy
oh boy, everything going right for the Bulldogs on that
drive and Opelika has no timeouts. Coach, I don't know
(02:30:20):
if Auburn.
Speaker 7 (02:30:23):
Auburn calls their third and final timeout and.
Speaker 3 (02:30:25):
We'll call their final time out here, I'm not so
sure that. Yeah, we're watching the replay here and the
snap just went right through the hands a fuller unfortunately
unable to grab that one, and then the scram before
it and the Tigers were able.
Speaker 2 (02:30:46):
To get on it.
Speaker 3 (02:30:51):
Seventeen to ten, Tigers with a seven point lead and
about to get the football back. Both teams out of
timeouts now and just one fifty six left in this ballgame.
Tell you what the way ope Like has played tonight,
(02:31:11):
coach shorthanded at quarterback, with a lot of injuries tonight,
and way to hang in here with a Auburn team.
So many things have gone negative for opal Like at
tonight to have a chance here within a touchdown late
in this ballgame in the first half didn't even seem possible.
Speaker 2 (02:31:29):
Yep, that came back. They made too many mistakes, man.
Speaker 3 (02:31:33):
And I think Auburn is in the victory formation here,
and hey, they're just going to drop to a knee.
Myers gets the snap and drops to a knee. Bulldog's
unable to stop the clock. Coach Moore is still barking
out the orders out there does defense and not a
(02:31:56):
whole lot they can do right here, clock winds down
to one thirty seven, one thirty six, and the Auburn
students section beginning to give the Opalaikah fans an ear
full and as it looks right now, the streak will
go to six and the Bulldogs will have to try
(02:32:16):
to snap it. Next year in the one hundred and
one meeting of the Opelika Auburn game, and there's a
movement penalty against Auburn, it will stop the clock with
they keep the clock running for some reason.
Speaker 4 (02:32:35):
Par this.
Speaker 3 (02:32:35):
Then we'll start offense five to our penalty, still second down,
resent the game clock to one minute, thirteen seconds, one
one three as the attended.
Speaker 5 (02:32:43):
Team one polacs a loft another game clock starting a.
Speaker 3 (02:32:45):
Steak, save the Bulldogs a little bit of time here,
so I'm not real sure right now, Jason, there is
any way hopeful like he'll be able to get the
football back here. I don't think so. Myers out of
the shop down. Other snap will come from the five.
He drops to a knee before the defense could get there,
(02:33:08):
and this will be.
Speaker 2 (02:33:12):
Third down. So this will be down to around.
Speaker 3 (02:33:23):
About thirty seconds left by the time they snapped this one,
and then I don't think they'll have to snap it again.
Oploga had a time out. There will be a chance
to get the football back, but had to burn those early.
And sometimes they can come back to haunt you. Buyers
(02:33:44):
goes under center and they say scramble for it, and
they say, Opelika came up with it. I signal open.
Referee is not signaling anything yet. Coach More wanting some clarification.
They're not going to get the.
Speaker 2 (02:34:00):
Go by contact flour down over, boy, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (02:34:11):
They're not going to get the call down by contact
and down to two, down.
Speaker 2 (02:34:16):
To one, and that is the end of all game.
That's the end of the ball. Boy.
Speaker 3 (02:34:23):
That fumble could have been disastrous there on the goal line,
but the Tigers survive a tough one here tonight in
Bulldog Stadium, one hundred meeting of Opalike in Auburn goes
to the Tigers seventeen to ten here in a fard
faught game on this Thursday night, in front of a
record crowd. I imagine here at Bulldog Stadium tonight. Final
(02:34:45):
score Auburn seventeen, Opalika ten. The postgame show comes your
weight on the way, nixt. You're listening to Bulldog football
here on the kicker, all right, Coach More're not gonna
join us in the booth tonight.
Speaker 2 (02:35:03):
Mac. Let's head down on the field to you.
Speaker 8 (02:35:04):
All right, Coach Moore, didn't work out this evening. Just
talk a little bit about the game and you go
be your dogs.
Speaker 6 (02:35:10):
I don't have a lot to say, man, we got
to find a way to win at the end another
chance driving that we screw up, you know, a discipe thing.
But more than that, we had to use three timeouts
for personnel issues on the field, which was very disappointing
because again we didn't have them to use at the
end of the ball game.
Speaker 2 (02:35:28):
That's on me, that's on my staff.
Speaker 6 (02:35:32):
I'm about to go get this fixed right here, I'm
disappointed for the kids. I do want to say this though,
our defense fought their guts out for this. I don't
know how many snaps they just played, but a bunch
our kids rallied and fault in the third quarter. But
just like last year, man excuses aren't good enough here.
We expect to win this game. It's bull crap that
we're not winning. And I'm gonna go back to work
and try and get it figured out and go back
(02:35:53):
and fight all week next week and get back in
and win column. And there's a lot of reagion games
left to play. And one thing that we do know
about this football team is it will fight. But it
has not been pretty and we've got to find a
way to clean up things and get going.
Speaker 2 (02:36:07):
Earlier in ball games.
Speaker 7 (02:36:08):
Like coach, we'll see you next week, thanks Matt.
Speaker 3 (02:36:11):
All Right, Matt McCracken will coach Brian Moore of their
postgame as the Dogs fall seventeen to ten to the
Auburn Tigers. We'll come back and we'll talk more about
this one as our post game show continues.
Speaker 2 (02:36:22):
On the way again.
Speaker 3 (02:36:23):
The final here seventeen to ten, Bulldogs falling for the
first time this season, falling to two and one on
the season, Oh and one in area play Tigers with
a big region wind to open up play one and
oh we're back after this. You're listening to Bulldog football
here on the Kicker. Welcome back here on the post
(02:36:45):
game show. Coach McCracken. Final thoughts on this one, and
I boy, and that was a tough one, but got
a regroup, had a lot of injuries tonight, you got
Jack coming in home coming next week, you got Smith's
station the week after that, a chance to go two
and one in the area. You can't feel sorry for
yourself after this one.
Speaker 4 (02:37:02):
Oh well, Van, I'm just gonna just tell exactly. We
didn't make the plays that we needed to make, and
as simple as that. We got down there close and
we screwed up ourselves.
Speaker 2 (02:37:15):
We fumbled the ball, we threw a couple of picks.
Speaker 4 (02:37:18):
I don't know how many turnovers were, but at five,
Jason five turnovers and I don't think Auburn, I don't
think they had over one. H But anyway, that's that's
the story of the game. And we played without our
starting quarterback. And I'm not gonna make a comment about that,
but that could have been.
Speaker 2 (02:37:41):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (02:37:43):
I think that hurt us a little bit, you know,
if they wouldn't have had their starting quarterback.
Speaker 3 (02:37:47):
Yeah, it was interesting too. He was dressed out before
the games. I don't know he's going through warm ups.
Speaker 2 (02:37:51):
But we don't really know. We never were told this
week what happened. But yeah, and I shouldn't. I'm not
going to say it.
Speaker 3 (02:37:58):
You'll get mad, you know, but I tell you though,
I mean, you know, we we you know, you know
the quebat quarterback that was played the game to night,
Fuller was putting a tough situation and you know, he hey,
you know, you got to run the offense and then
he's never I mean, it hadn't had a whole lot
of play and experience, and that that's where the key
comes into when you're backup quarterback coach. I mean, and
though some of these games, you've got to try to
(02:38:20):
find a way to get them some experience. And I
know that'll be key probably moving forward, because you know,
you got to build for the future too.
Speaker 2 (02:38:26):
You know, you're right, You're right. It's just it's just
very frustrating, h if.
Speaker 4 (02:38:33):
Even when we played against Callaway and Benjamin Russell we
didn't have the turnovers that we had tonight, and when
we got the ball we scored because we had twenty
four against Kyleaway, what do we have against Ben Russell?
Speaker 2 (02:38:48):
Thirty? How many points did we score thirty something like that,
twenty five to twenty finals score in that game. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:38:56):
Yeah, anyway, it's just very frustrating, and I'm just like,
I'm just like Brian, it's he's.
Speaker 2 (02:39:05):
I don't know. I just I watch. I see people
get hurt.
Speaker 4 (02:39:09):
I see people not making plays, and I'm gonna close
with this van I might hurt somebody's feelings. Big Time
players make big time plays in big time games.
Speaker 2 (02:39:21):
This was a big time game and we didn't make
the big time play.
Speaker 3 (02:39:25):
Now this is well, this is three years in a
row that Auburn's made the plays in the fourth quarter
to win the game. I mean you and you know
Opekah had a miscue there at the end that you
know certainly helped Auburn find a way. But you look
down here at that pass play in the end zone
they were able to make that they make the big
the fake punt yep, yeah, I mean.
Speaker 2 (02:39:41):
You know, you just name it.
Speaker 3 (02:39:43):
Then Opelikah made a lot of great plays in this game,
just not enough in a big game to to pick
up the win. Bulldogs again seventeen to ten, falling to Auburn.
Here in this one hundred meeting between Opelika and Auburn
will take one more post game time out. We'll wrap
things up after this and you're listening to the Bulldog
football here on the Kicker.
Speaker 2 (02:40:07):
Fan Rix.
Speaker 3 (02:40:08):
Here the final segment of our postgame show and a
reminder coming up tomorrow night, I don't forget the Encore
Rehabilitation High School Scoreboard Show will be on the air,
of course, no Friday Night football tomorrow night. As a boy,
it's hard to thank you. Then it's Thursday, coach, and
I keep telling myself it's Friday and the weekends here.
We got one more day to go on Friday, and
tough one that you thought you could kind of go
around tomorrow and uh, pokey chest out a little bit
(02:40:30):
on Friday around town. But it'll be Auburn that has
the bragging rights again for another year, and hopefully the
Bulldogs can pick up a win over them next year.
Speaker 2 (02:40:36):
But a tough one tonight.
Speaker 3 (02:40:37):
But uh, you know what, you never know, you may
see these guys again and the playoffs, and I think Opelika,
a fully loaded team will have a great opportunity to
knock them off any other day of the week or
any other situation. But tonight it just was not the
Bulldog's night and Alburn made the key plays they needed
to to win this ball game. But coming up on
the schedule again next week, it's Friday games from here
on out, folks.
Speaker 2 (02:40:58):
We had two Thursdays in a row.
Speaker 3 (02:40:59):
It's allf Fridays now and ope like like will have
a little extra day to heal up and get ready
for jag next week. That will be homecoming here at
Bulldog Stadium and then the road game as the Bulldogs
will head to Smith's Station and then a home game
against Pike Road before the next area game against Dothan
on the road. With two straight tough ones down the
stretch Enterprise in Central Phoenix City before the final home
(02:41:20):
game of the season. Of the final regular season game
against Carver Montgomery, we get our final score though tonight
seventeen ten. It was the Auburn Hight Tigers coming out
on top in this tough one. Tonight here inside Bulldog
Stadium for my broadcast partners Tonight Jason Lee, Coach, Spence
McCracken and mc McCracken. I'm Van Riggs saying so long everybody,
and it's great to be an Opehaka Bulldog.
