Mac McCracken and Jason Lee, and we welcome you to
this edition of Thursday nighted Lights. It's the Opelaka Bulldogs
have hit the road for the second game of the
twenty twenty five season, traveling up Iight five here to Lagrange,
Georgia take on the Callaway Cavaliers and what has become
(01:30):
one of the most exciting non region matchups in recent years,
Tonight's matchup here at Callaway Stadium more than just a
border battle. This is a clash of two proud programs
with a history of dramatic finishes in hard nosed football.
Opal like enters this game one and oh after a
gritty twenty five twenty win over Benjamin Russell last Friday,
while Callaway looking to bounce back from a tough season
(01:50):
opening loss to Georgia two way power Prince Avenue Christian
and if you follow this series, you know it's been
anything but predictable. Back in twenty twenty two, Like a
stunned Callaway with a gutsy two point conversion in the
final minutes to steal a twenty and twenty eight comeback
win here in Lagrange. Then in the last beating in
twenty twenty four, Bulldogs dominated that one. Last year at home,
(02:12):
they cruise to a forty eight thirteen win behind standout
performances from quarterback Colby Key and running back Calvin Hugley,
but can't cant out these Cavaliers. Veteran head coach Pete
Wiggins has built another tough squad. He's got senior linebackers
Day Anderson defensive lineman Tyrone Finton anchoring the defense, both
that will play college football at D one level. And
(02:32):
Calloway looking to make a statement tonight here in front
of their home of crowd now ople like his defense again,
gonna be tested by Calloway's dual threat quarterback Blake Harrington.
He threw for over fourteen hundred yards and rushed for
nearly one thousand last season. He can scramble, he can
throw it. So grab you popcorn, settle in, get ready
for Thursday night lights. It's the Opal Like Bulldogs and
the Callaway Cavaliers live from Lagrange, Georgia. Here Callaway stadium.
(02:56):
We'll have a pregame visit with ople like a head
coach Brian Moore coming up next as we contend you
the countdown to kickoff right here on your home for
the Bulldogs not only seven point seven kicker FM.
Speaker 5 (03:06):
Whoever.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
Now it's time for a pregame visit with OPAKA head
football coach Brian Moore, presented by South State Bank.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Now with coach, here's Van Riggs.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
All right, coach, game two on the road, short turnaround
here on this Thursday night in Lagrains. Let's talk about
the week. And I know everything kind of speeds up
for you coming into a Thursday night game.
Speaker 6 (03:26):
There's no question you know you got here fast.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
You know.
Speaker 7 (03:29):
The prep Sunday, you know was different. Basically you take
a day of prep out. All the reps that we
get are down and so you know, you can't add
as much. You gotta be careful with putting too much
on the kids, and you know, and then physically their
their bodies just trying to get them back.
Speaker 6 (03:42):
You know, we were really beat.
Speaker 7 (03:43):
Up after Ben Russell and so we'll have some game
time decisions with some guys. But you know, obviously we're
excited to get through that first one and but quick
turnaround and h a lot on our kids played for
sure tonight.
Speaker 5 (03:56):
What did you see?
Speaker 4 (03:56):
I know sometimes you can kind of hit the panic
button a little bit, you know, after the moment. But
kind of sitting back resting on that game against Ben Rustling,
watching the film again, kind of what was your big takeaways?
Speaker 7 (04:07):
You know, I think honestly, as we compare teams to
last year, you know, and ourselves at this point after
game one, I think.
Speaker 6 (04:13):
We're further along.
Speaker 7 (04:14):
We said, play well, like we just were sloppy and
the game was slow, and the rhythm wasn't good in
the game, and you know, we put it on the
ground four times in the first half. We did not
put it on the ground four times all year last
year and missed two point afters which hasn't happened. It
really could have been a difference in the ballgame. So again,
a lot to clean up, but we're not far off
the mark. I know a lot of people say that,
you know, after game one, but for us, it was
(04:34):
little bitty things.
Speaker 6 (04:35):
We didn't change a bunch of personnel.
Speaker 7 (04:37):
As a matter of fact, with our special teams units,
nobody changed and so we just got to clean up
and be a little bit better this week, and I
think we will.
Speaker 4 (04:44):
I know, Depp played a big factor in that game,
especially in the second half. You really see the numbers
and how they changed two hundred something yards for Ben
Rustling in the first half through the air and then
I think, what twenty or thirty yards in the second half.
I mean, talk about the defensive adjustments that were made.
Speaker 6 (04:57):
I think just settling in.
Speaker 7 (04:59):
You know, when you play that level of athlete, you know,
like Sadaria and the other kid that came in from Catholic.
I mean, those guys are incredibly special, and so they
made two massive plays.
Speaker 6 (05:08):
I mean, really, you take the eighty seven yard.
Speaker 7 (05:10):
Touchdown reception for Sadarian in the wheel route that was
about forty or so yards.
Speaker 6 (05:14):
You take those away and you're in really good shape defensively.
So we felt good. I mean, we played the run
really well.
Speaker 7 (05:19):
We had that one drive where they got the ball
on our red zone and we didn't hold up there,
but we made them earn it, you know, and so
really pleased with some of the things there. But again,
cleaning up fits a lot of new players. Ten of
eleven stars on defense. So the game was moving fast early,
but you could see a settle in.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
Yeah, I know you mentioned banged up on the offensive
side of what was really physical against that defense offensively
trying to run the ball, trying to find a lane
to run, and the tailbacks, I know, in the running
backs took a beat they did, you.
Speaker 6 (05:44):
Know, and they made us throw the ball.
Speaker 7 (05:46):
And I thought Kobe did some really good things, and
so did Dre and some of the receivers that you know,
they did some really nice things.
Speaker 6 (05:52):
But you know, for us, we got to hit some
of those posts.
Speaker 7 (05:55):
You know, we had some posts that could have gotten
the safety out of the fit because they had nine
in the box. I mean they placed it basically zero
coverage and getting everybody in the fit. And so you know,
we made a commitment last off season to change that
and we did take our shots. We threw the ball
over their head quite a bit, but we got to
connect on some of those deep ones and that do'll
help us with the box count.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
Special teams wise, I know everybody will go back to
missed extra points, but I thought there were some really
good things, especially in punting the football, punt returning and
kicking the ball into the end zone.
Speaker 7 (06:21):
Yeah, Reese was five for five and kickoffs, I don't
think I've ever been part of a.
Speaker 6 (06:25):
Game where not one kick was returned.
Speaker 7 (06:27):
You know, they kicked four in the end zone as well,
But I thought he punted well. We got to take away,
you know, and meet the Bulldogs. And the first game
against Benjamin Russell, we had one bad punt, but he
still averaged over forty yards. You take away a twenty
yard punt and he's averaging fifty yards a punt.
Speaker 6 (06:40):
And so I thought Cam was was really really good.
Speaker 7 (06:43):
Had a great coverage tackle along with Jamail Griffin. But
you know, really like our special teams, we got some
things to clean up. You know, I thought Reese really
and truly didn't have.
Speaker 6 (06:52):
A bad night. It was two kicks that he wished he.
Speaker 7 (06:55):
Had back, but again a lot of us play into that,
the protection, the operation, all that play into that.
Speaker 6 (06:59):
But Reese bounce back.
Speaker 7 (07:00):
You know, he's very resilient and confident, and we'll have
a better week this week.
Speaker 4 (07:04):
Quick break, we'll come back and wrap things up here
when our pregame visit with head coach Brian Moore. After
this time out, you're listening to Bulldog football here I'm
the kicker back with coach Brian Moore. Is a wrap
things up, getting ready for Thursday night football here against
Callaway and coach I know, coming into this game a
kick off at six o'clock, I don't remember an early
kick like this.
Speaker 5 (07:22):
I know we played Robert E.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
Lee, which is Percy Julia now on a Saturday morning
at eleven o'clock. But the early kick, I know, everything
kind of speeds up, and the day speeds up as well.
Speaker 7 (07:32):
No questions to start, you know, kind of everything begins
with pregame.
Speaker 6 (07:35):
You know, of course you have your.
Speaker 7 (07:36):
Meetings in the morning and that whole deal as we
operate through the day.
Speaker 6 (07:39):
But you got to get the kids out early, and
you know, but we're excited.
Speaker 7 (07:44):
The change the schedule sometimes can be a good thing,
you know, and sort of the monotony of football and
routine sometimes can get a little bit old.
Speaker 6 (07:50):
So we'll start our.
Speaker 7 (07:51):
Operation at two fifteen and we'll eat at two thirty
instead of three thirty.
Speaker 6 (07:54):
Like normal.
Speaker 7 (07:55):
Everything bounces up in an hour, but as far as what
we're going to do, everything continues to be the same,
you know, as the pregame things that we do, the
stretching all the group work and individual time that we
go through the meetings will all be the same. And
so once we get on campus, you know, we want
to control the environment and we'll do that. And but again,
it'll be nice to get back early. You know, it's
I live that life, growing up on Eastern time, and
(08:16):
so I understand your time and my time and all
that kind of stuff fast time and slow time. So
today it'll be fun, but it will be an early
kick and luckily the weather will be good for us
as well.
Speaker 4 (08:25):
All Right, your first trip here to Lagrange to take
on Callaway and Calloway Stadium and open like this third
trip over here and one one and lost one back
in Tank Bixby's junior year here. So this has been
a pretty good series between these two teams. This team
compared to Alabama size, I know, they're about a six
A sized ball team, but they do play a lot
of guys both ways. I know, Debt probably will play
(08:46):
a big key tonight.
Speaker 6 (08:47):
Yeah, I think so. You know, they do a good
job with it.
Speaker 7 (08:49):
You know, those kids grow up playing both ways and
that's just kind of how they do it.
Speaker 6 (08:54):
And they keep their best eleven on the field.
Speaker 7 (08:56):
I mean they'll spell them and you know, their mic
linebacker also play full back and running back.
Speaker 6 (08:59):
I mean a really good player. They got multiple SEC guys.
Speaker 7 (09:03):
The receiver has a Georgia Offer, I mean, really really
good player. So again, last year was a little bit
of an anomaly in this series because they had some
guys out, you know. I think that played a part
in us kind of jumping on them early. And we
had an older team that really played well in the game,
especially in the first half. So this is gonna be different.
They look a lot like us physically. I mean, they're
gonna have players on the field that can run and
(09:24):
make plays. Their quarterback is the toughest kid we saw
last year. It's just a warrior in battles. A lot
of Q runs, you know, and really you can't knock
him out of the game. Hit him over and over
and he keeps popping up and making plays. So we'll
have a work cut out for us. Any time you
got a coach that's been there twenty years, that says
a lot about him too, and so it'll be a
lot of fun tonight. But it's a game I love
this border war type atmosphere makes it a lot of fun.
Speaker 4 (09:46):
Yeah, and they've got a kid the wide receiver, another
good talented guy. You're gonna have to keep a watch
on six four, six five. I mean, I feel like
it's just gonna be every week.
Speaker 7 (09:53):
But I was really proud of our corners last week
against Sadaria, and they'll have to rise up to the
occasion again tonight.
Speaker 4 (09:59):
All right, Coach shade the visit, good luck tonight, Thank you, Van,
and go Dogs. Thursday Night Football, early kickoff. We've got
more coverage from Calloway Stadium coming up as the Dogs
are on the road here getting set to take on
Callaway here in Lagrange. We're back after this time out.
You're listening to Bulldog football here on the Kicker. Welcome
(10:22):
back here to the Calloway Stadium. Van Raise alongside coach
Bence McCracken. Mac mccracket running our sidelines tonight. Jason Lee
also handling our engineering duties tonight and spring for us
as we get ready for tonight's matchup between the Callaway
Cavaliers and the Opalaka Bulldogs. Coach, we're a little banged
up and beat up from last week. Got to get
the troops healed up and ready to go because reach
and play coming up next week a week from tonight
(10:43):
back at Bulldog Stadium. But you want to come on
the road and win all of them, and this will
be a good test for the Dogs tonight, Yes.
Speaker 3 (10:48):
Sir, And we got two or three starter that are
I don't know how you want to call it, Mike play, So.
Speaker 5 (10:57):
I know Blake Johnson's one of them.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
Got a couple of wide receiver, Bennett Young's one of them,
and Andrews boy that plays strong safety as the other one,
Norman Matthews excuse me, and so everybody else. I'm gonna
tell you something, man, I watched this game on TV
this morning, and I was amazed at how close the
(11:22):
game was, and both sides it seemed like they wanted
to take advantage.
Speaker 5 (11:28):
Of what was there but they couldn't.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
And then finally in the fourth quarter we were able
to run the ball and we made some big plays.
Blake made a great catch in the fourth quarter at
about the thirty yard line thirty five, and then we
drove that one in and scored.
Speaker 5 (11:45):
That was the last score of the game.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
Yeah, it could have been the game winner, really cose, Yes, sir.
Speaker 8 (11:49):
And listen, they had six big plays and we had
one going into the fourth quarter, and we ended up
getting five big play in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 5 (12:01):
That was the difference in the game in my opinion.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
You are listening to Oberlika High School Football here on
ninety seven point seven Kicker FM.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Now it's time for coach Spence mccrack.
Speaker 6 (12:19):
It's Keys to the.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
Game presented by Glenn Smith, Chevrolet GMC and Oberlike got
get ready to smile.
Speaker 4 (12:28):
All right, let's shift gears cuts the crack in time
to give us the keys for victory here on the road.
Coach for this win here at Calloway. It's been a
tough one side from last year when they were shorthanded us.
It has been a battle every year.
Speaker 3 (12:39):
Yeah, well, this all goes back to those main deals.
First of all, defensively, we can't give up seven big
plays in a football game. That's fifteen yards or more
on a pass or ten more.
Speaker 5 (12:52):
On a run.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
And what they got they got after us on big plays.
They had us beat till the end of the game.
So we can't allow those. We have got to be
able to not have any stupid penalties. I've never seen
a game like last week. Man, we had like six
fifteen yard penalties and then they had penalties too, But
(13:14):
we had too many stupid penalties on defense and on offense.
And you know what you told me on the way
over here that this quarterback was good, So we better
pressure him on third downs or when he's gonna throw
the ball and not let him get the ball down
the field. We got to run the football. My son
all week harped on that to me, says Daddy. We
(13:38):
did not run the ball good against Ben Russell. We've
got to be able to run the ball and make
more first downs and keep the ball and give our
defense some rest. And then the special teams or punder
wasn't real good last week, but I know he's better
than that.
Speaker 5 (13:57):
He shaked one. You ever shaked one.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Jason had on the golf course, Well, that's where he
did one, and it just lost him for the game.
Missed a couple of extra points. We have missed the
extra point all year last year, Van, so we got
to make all our extra points and no bad snaps
and make sure God the Van boys caught a ball
over his backside on a punt return and almost brought
(14:25):
it back and we went up. I think we ended
up scoring on that, So we gotta gotta do a
better job on that. And I always say this, I'm
gonna say it again. First five minutes of the game
we lost last week. Last five minutes and a half
we won last week. First five minutes of the third
quarter last week we lost, last five minutes of the
(14:47):
game we won. So we went two and two against
Ben Russell. We need to win all four.
Speaker 5 (14:53):
Of those five minute deals. They got six harders.
Speaker 3 (14:59):
We have six starters coming back on offense and six
back on defense. But we got some kids that aren't
gonna play tonight. And you told me you've heard that
there were a few of these Callaway boys that maybe
not play or have to play boat ways.
Speaker 5 (15:15):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
It's gonna be a heck of a football game, and
I'm looking forward.
Speaker 5 (15:20):
To us improving from game one to game two. That's
when you ought to make your most improving, all.
Speaker 4 (15:26):
Right, Coach Bence mccranck and keys of the game is
anybody Glensmith's Chevy gmc and Opalaika alph Exit sixty two
off of I eighty five. Get ready to smile, quick
time out. We'll come back with more here from Callaway.
After this, you're listening to Bulldog football here, I'm the
kicker back here at Calloway Stadium, home of several different schools.
(15:50):
Tonight it's Callaway's home home of the Cavaliers. This stadium
also shared by Troop High School in Lagrange High School
and Lagrange College as well, so it gets a lot
of use, very similar to Montgomery's cramped A Bowl. First
time the blogs have been here since that exciting win
we were talking about back in twenty twenty two, which
the Bulldogs had to come from behind and win that
(16:11):
one twenty nine twenty eight. They'l behind fourteen nothing and
coach I know you remember that one. Gagliano hit a
fourth down play and took it down to the two.
The Bulldogs scored and elected to go for the win
rather than go for the extra point, and it paid
off big and the Bulldogs escaped with a one point
twenty nine to twenty eight win. Last year different story though,
as Opalca really dominated. Calloway had some players out last
(16:34):
year that were not eligible and the Bulldogs really had
their way and got to the quarterback Blake Harrington, which
we talked about the athlete he is. He's back again
quarterbacking for Calloway tonight. Bulldogs hope they can pressure him
like they did per year last week from Benjamin Russell,
and that would certainly be a big key for victory
here tonight in Callaway. Well, take a break right now
(16:55):
in Paul's ten seconds for station identification as you listening
to op like a bulldog football here on the kick
back here at Calloway Stadium, as we get ready for
kickoff tonight of Opelika and Callaway. This will be the
fifth all time meeting of six all time meeting, I
(17:16):
should say between these teams. Opelaika with a slight advantage
in this series, leading three games to two, and Opelika
has won the last two meetings against the Cavaliers. This
is the third time Opelika has faced off against Callaway
here at Callaway Stadium. Coin toss coming up here shortly.
It is presented by Rentals Outdoors. Rentals Outdoors locally owned hunting, Fishing,
(17:37):
Archery and Outdoor store taking care of all your outdoor
sporting needs. Rentals Outdoors off Geneva Street in Opelikah and
our pregame show presented to you by the fine folks
at Frederick Dean Funeral Hall, Mac McCracken roaming the sidelines.
We'll get our first four seasons Federal Credit Union sideline report.
Speaker 9 (17:53):
Mac, thanks a lot, Van, Hey, you overs with the coach.
All Moore's talking to his dogs tonight and just told him, Hey,
let's be clean tonight.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
Let's make it clean.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
We weren't.
Speaker 9 (18:01):
We were sloppy last week. Let's get it clean. And
he said, let's don't let off the gas tonight. Let's
play all four quarter as hard as we can and
not let it go and don't let anything get up,
don't let anything get behind us. To stay with it.
So they're looking, they're looking ready to play. Van, lot
of pumped up people in the locker room. So got
a good little crowd here from Blake on a Thursday
night with a.
Speaker 4 (18:21):
Being even on TV. So look forward to this game.
Speaker 5 (18:23):
But all right.
Speaker 4 (18:25):
Captains tonight for the Bulldogs is junior quarterback Colby Key,
number eighteen, Andre Van, the senior wide receiver, and the
big man Tremaine Thomas, who had a heck of a
ball game last week a captain as well, number twenty
three Braden Howard across the way for Callaway, it'll be
their quarterback Blake Harrington, also Jeremiah Dunn, a wide receiver
(18:46):
number fifty four Tyrone fitting one of their stars on
the offensive line of number ten, Zay Anderson. The captain says,
a check hands at center field right now at the
fifty yard line, and we'll go down for the cleaning process.
Mink McCracken getting ready to mike the white hat up.
Speaker 10 (19:03):
Great night for some high school football here on Thursday night.
All right, guys, gonna represent your team tonight has kept
all right sportsmanship. Okay, when you hear that whistle blow,
start what you're doing. Let's get them hudigin. I got
it all right, kell Away, you the whole team will
call you black, open locket you the business him call
you white.
Speaker 5 (19:20):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (19:21):
I got a coin here that's heads and that's tails.
Speaker 10 (19:25):
That's heads and that's tails.
Speaker 5 (19:28):
Over Like said, you're the business and you get a
choice of far toss. What would it be?
Speaker 10 (19:32):
He said, hats, guys, I'm a flipper left at the
ground this tails. Do you want to toss? What you
want to do? Callaway? Kellaway has won, and.
Speaker 4 (19:40):
They all right, so callaway winning the challs sell the
third of the second half, sople Like I will get
a chance offensively, Coach McCracken to set the tone for
the game. I kind of like that on the road,
get the football, let's go ahead and dominate the line
of scrimmage and go ahead and set the tone.
Speaker 5 (19:54):
For this one. I do. I do like that, And
I know my son likes that.
Speaker 3 (19:58):
We were talking about the hat about the lack of
a really consistent running game last week throughout four quarters,
so the first five minutes of the first game we lost.
So it's very important that we get off to a
real good start.
Speaker 4 (20:13):
Tonight, fan, Yeah, I agree one hundred percent of Polaka
and the black pants tonight, white jerseys, black numbers outlined
in red, the red helmets with the dogs across the
helmets on each side. Callaway wearing gray pants tonight and
black jerseys and great numbers and black helmets and look
a lot like the Chicago Bears on each side of
(20:35):
the helmet with that C logo. And we're just about ready.
Both teams are taking the field and kickoff is coming up.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
Open like a high school football is on the air.
Speaker 4 (20:45):
Stamped Blake Johnson. First down, he's got the sidelines inside
the twenty. He's gone ten fives. I stand all out,
shuts down these summersaults into the end zone, waits inside
the thirty twenty five to twenty plaits down the sidelines
ten five touchdown.
Speaker 5 (21:01):
It stays on the eight inside the.
Speaker 4 (21:02):
Twenty inside the tenth five touchdowns.
Speaker 5 (21:05):
Temper time.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
Now to the stadium for a kickoff of tonight's game.
Speaker 4 (21:09):
Here on the kicker, little team's ready to go here
a second game of the twenty twenty five season is
Opalaka Bulldogs. We'll get the football first and I'll await
the kick from Jaden Bailey of Callaway, and we're just
about ready to go for football here from Lagrange, Georgia.
As we get a little miss balling here and everybody
(21:29):
keeping their fingers crossed, that's all it all it becomes
because we're outside in the bleachers here, and if you
hear a scramble, it started to rain a lot worse.
So we're gonna have to get the pop up tent
going here. Hopefully that's not the case, though radar though,
indicates we may get a little heavier dose of showers here.
Callaway does a thing or two. They played a mine
(21:51):
soon a couple of weeks ago in the Corsey Kell Classic.
It was a very beautiful first half, and about the
time the second half started to rain, just came down
a typhoon almost on them. So they're certainly already broke
in for wet weather and they were hoping they could
get a dry game tonight. Let's hope so a little
like a whole lot on the radar heavy wise, but
(22:13):
we may get some misty, rainy conditions. Oblike, oh wait,
it's the kick to the right. Their backs towards the
open end zone here at Callaway Stadium. The Jumbo tryne
to the behind of Obolaika and here comes Bailey and
he'll put a line drive kick. We'll be returnable for
the Bulldogs. It'll be picked up by c J. Johnson
(22:33):
turning right at the thirty thirty five. CJ across the
thirty five and CJ up to the thirty six yard line,
and that's where the Bulldogs will start first and ten.
Speaker 5 (22:42):
That's a good, really good start.
Speaker 3 (22:44):
We got Julian Pritchett, Jeremy Dillard, Corbyn Fears, Darius Whitlow
and Eric Mason up front.
Speaker 4 (22:50):
Coach, we're gonna have to get the tent. You have
to let Jason out coach, Oh, I'm sorry, yeah, we
got we got the rain coming on down now here.
Maybe a slight bit of bad radio here. We're gonna
give the ten up here, as Bulldogs will start first
and ten from their own thirty one yard line. Here
comes a speed sweep here near side. It is ce
J Johnson. Good run across the thirty five up to
(23:11):
the thirty six yard line. Second down play for the
thirty six yard line. Here's a hand off Jordan Waits.
Bulldogs trying to go to that ground game up to
the forty yard line. And we do apologize as we
were trying to get situated with the rain here coming
down on us and really came out of nowhere, and
we were keeping our fingers crossed. We were gonna be okay,
(23:32):
but I'm gonna we're gonna work with it best we can.
Right now we're down yeah here from the forty yard
line and kolbe Key out of the shotgun. We can
have a little bad radio for a moment here, but
we're gonna stay on the air. That's the main thing.
And there's a pass incomplete. That one was intended for
(23:53):
number fourteen Leland Bell. So the Bulldogs are gonna have
to punt it away here.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
Yeah, that's a bad throw by Key.
Speaker 5 (23:59):
He was wide open. That's okay. We got a.
Speaker 4 (24:03):
Punt, So drifting back to punt will be Reese Beasley
and the deep men for Calloway, Jeremiah Dunne standing around
the twenty six twenty seven yard line, and a good
snap and the punt is away, good high hanging punt,
fair cause Califoury he dropped it on the ground. Able
to get it back though at the twenty eight yard
line or twenty seven yard line and where Callaway will
(24:26):
start first and ten, so defense will come out and
have a chance here after the offense went three and out.
That's one of those negative things you don't want to happen.
Quick three and out.
Speaker 3 (24:36):
When we were fixing the tent, we got a motion
penalty on first down. I made it first and fifteen
and we didn't make it up on the ground, and
then we threw that errant pass on third down. So
Calloway was able to hold us here.
Speaker 5 (24:49):
So gotta do the job defensively.
Speaker 4 (24:53):
So Callawi comes out of the first and ten line
of scrimmage, is there on twenty seven yard line, first
in ten we'll see what Blake Harrington this offense can do.
Right off the bat Rrington first down play play action,
Blake's gonna roll here near side and throws back to
each got a man wide open that is caught by
Isaiah Anderson inside the twenty five cut down at the
(25:15):
twenty six yard line, and as a big gainer right
there is a little play action caught the defense and
they're gonna give it a line of scrimmage the twenty
four yard line. That's a pickup of forty nine yards.
Big pass play and a big one there for callaway
and they're set up first intent at the open like
a twenty four on that play action first Harrington Errington
(25:42):
seven nineteen last week for one hundred and five yards,
did throw an interception eighteen carries for one hundred and
nine yards as well, so he'll run it as much
as he'll throw it. Here's a speed sweep to Ellis
running and good tackle over on the far side of
the field at the twenty one yard line. And that
was a really good stop there by Xavier Thomas or
(26:04):
Opelaika did not pick up much I think three yards
down to the twenty one, so it'll be second down
in seven here for Callaway.
Speaker 3 (26:20):
Horse five minutes of the game, Van got played.
Speaker 4 (26:22):
Better Harrington with two receivers to the left side, one
receiver right side, quick throw far side of the field.
It is complete tight rope of the sidelines for a
first down and more down inside the ten. Down to
the nine yard line was Caden James. That's their go
to wide receiver and he got a twelve yard pickup
down to the nine yard line. It will be first
(26:42):
in gold, Callaway at the.
Speaker 3 (26:43):
Nine, TJ Thomas, Josh Davis, Moony Thomas, and Tres Thomas
Junior up front for the Dogs. Bert's Harris at the
Linebackers Howard Peters, Thomas and Elijah Odin in the secondary.
Speaker 4 (27:00):
First to ten, Callowey. They're marching down the field nine
to twenty four. We're just underway first quarter, empty backfield
now five wide, three to the left, actually one linebacker
and one receiver to the right side. Harrington quarterback keeper
right side, right in to the line of scrimmage. They'll
give him the down to the six yard lines. They're
going to say he picked up three yards, so to
(27:21):
be second down and goal from the six. Lakeidrick Burks
linebacker coming up making the stop there for the Bulldogs.
Speaker 3 (27:27):
Well, you don't want to do this on the road, man,
you get on the road, you got to play hard,
and we're just not we're not making plays yet.
Speaker 4 (27:35):
Bulldos going three and out to start the game, giving
it to Callaway and a big play, a pass play
to the full back Zay Anderson as Calloway really set
their first our second and goal from the six. Get
an empty backfield here for Blake Harrington. The quarterback runs
left and you're going to be down at the four
and under three. I think they marked it down at
(27:57):
the two. He got four yards and it'll be third
and goal from the two and too much quarterback will
more than likely run it again here from the two
yard line. Calloway threatening to get up early here on
the Bulldogs at eight twenty three, the clock running here
in the first quarter, I loaded up Harrington at the
(28:20):
goal line just about here. It's third and goal from
the two. It'll be four down territory. You know he's
got two blockers ahead of them. The quarterback Harrington gets
the snap, runs left and into the end zone for
the Callaway touchdown. So it is the calv striking first,
seven fifty six here on their home field, and they'll
get the moment in I'm early here in the first quarter.
(28:43):
They take a six to nothing lead and here comes
Jade and Ailey for the point after lake Harrington, the
quarterback will hold. That's a really good opening drive for Callaway.
Bulldogs went three runs and three and out they went,
and it was cal with a big pass play, marching
down the field for the score. Extra point up and
(29:03):
good and Calloway takes the seven to nothing lead here
with seven fifty six remaining here in this first quarter.
We're back after this time out. You're listening to Bulldog
football here on the kicker Calloway with a big drive.
They go eighty plus yards down the field, actually a
(29:27):
seventy three yard drive I believe for Killaway there as
they take you down the field. Big play Van, Yeah,
one big play really set them up there. The pass
to the full back Zay Anderson. They snuck him right
down in the middle field, a huge forty plus yard
pass and quarterback Blake Harrington really did the rest after
he hooked up with Kayden James down the sidelines and
(29:48):
it was quarterback run, quarterback run, and we knew that
was coming. One thing about the Bulldogs, they've gotten the depth,
but they've got to get something going here to try
to wear this callaway team down. They wanted to be
a four quarter game here, and Dogs really want to
be the second half team.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
Yeah, and you can't.
Speaker 5 (30:04):
You can't go three and out, no and get anybody tired. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (30:11):
Right now, all of those callaway guys that are playing
on lifefense and defense are on the sideline. Get a
nice breather here at arn the special teams as well,
So maybe this will be an area the Bulldogs can
take advantage of a lot of backup some reserves. Playing
on the special teams is one thing coach Moore mentioned
this week. If he wanted to take advantage of an area,
hopefully it could be special teams. So maybe CJ or
Andre Van can get a good return here. CJ will
(30:32):
get a chance inside the five building it at the four,
CJ across the fifteen to twenty. There's a scene thirty
thirty five forty. There goes CJ across midfield and CJ
out of bounds at around the thirty six yard line,
but there is a flag down at the twenty five
yard line. I believe I got a blocking back. It's
gonna come back, and there's a negative play. It's special team.
(30:52):
Just when you thought you were getting a big break
in a big play, it's a block in the back
and it's going to come back. Seven forty seven, seven
to nothing. Callaway with the lead here in the first
quarter here in La Grange, and it looks like it's
gonna be a penalty against the Bulldogs that will back
them up. Yeah, blocking the back, let's head down for
(31:15):
four seasons. Federal Credit Union Sideline report. Mac McCracken down
roaming our sidelines tonight. Yeah, don't look good right now. Van.
Speaker 9 (31:22):
You know, we just go three and out on the
first play, and then they just hit the one big play.
There's one play pop stars talks about big plays, went
down there and scored a touchdown. Just real flat right now,
real quiet. So, uh you get that adversity right there
on a kind of like repeat of last last week. Uh,
you know coach coach war talking about being clean. That's
not clean right there, So Bo but it Mack now
(31:43):
to step up.
Speaker 4 (31:43):
Yeah, And the crowds on both sides are really dead
right now. It's it's very you know, blick atmosphere right now,
not a lot of excitement and like we had last
week at Bulldog Stadium, they'll throw here near side. It
is hooked up to Jalen Washington who tries to turn
it up field, but Jalen could not get away. I'm
the cornerback number four, Jeffrey Ellis who made a great
tackle from Callaway and that tackle will be a loss
(32:06):
of one back to the fourteen yard line. So not
a good start at all here for the Bulldogs. Very
very screen pass.
Speaker 3 (32:13):
Yard and we didn't get in by bocked. They made
a great play second.
Speaker 4 (32:18):
And eleven seven, twenty o'clock running here in the first quarter.
You know, Pola like a trailing Callaway early here seven nothing,
two white outs either side for Colby key play action.
They'll throw and it is called up to the twenty
yard line for a six yard pickup Jacari Walton's first
reception of the season. But it's a good chunk of yards.
It'll set up a third and manageable now for the Bulldogs,
(32:38):
but it'll still be around a third and four, third
and five for the Bulldogs. So to get it to
the twenty five. Yeah, here at Calloway stadium. It'll be
a two back set here for the Bulldogs. Two wide
receivers to the right side. Now white out goes in motion.
It's Washington play action. Colby gonna roll right out of
(33:00):
defender in his face, has to dump it off early.
The receiver got bumped. No flag, boy, that should have
been an interference. Jalen Nelson. The back actually got hit
before the pass got there. But they know no flag
and do sigh. Garrett's the one that made the head
and uh no, Hank there. It's gonna be punning time
again for Opelike on a fourth and five coming up.
Speaker 3 (33:21):
Really little luck you got there. Yeah, that was very early.
I think he has interference called. But you ain't gonna
get that kind of call on road sometime, you know.
We got to we got to make some.
Speaker 4 (33:32):
Please high snap got down though. Reese be easily puts
a good punt over the head of the redeep man
and it takes a Callaway roll. Well, I's got to
get down there. Down it at the twenty four yard
line and that's where Callaway will take over.
Speaker 5 (33:48):
Bile.
Speaker 4 (33:48):
The Dogs right now, backs against the wall. Very similar
start than a couple of years ago when we were
here back in twenty twenty two. Yeah, and the Dogs
found themselves down fourteen. Nothing had to battle back and
certainly don't need to let Callaway get another score here
nice forty eight yards easily good, but excellently good putting
(34:08):
that one deep down field.
Speaker 3 (34:10):
Might gotta take charge now on our defense, we got
to hold them here.
Speaker 5 (34:15):
We need to make a plow down here.
Speaker 4 (34:17):
Six twenty seven room being here in the first order,
Devin nucky all away. They're back with Harrrington from his
twenty hard lines. Two receivers to the right, they single backs. Yeah,
gets the stamp play action. Harrington rolls here to the
near side, throws back across the middle and in and
out of the hands. Boy Xavier Thomas had it and
(34:38):
he dropped it. Actually, that was number twenty six for
the Bulldogs. That was that is Xavier Thomas.
Speaker 3 (34:44):
Yeah, that would have been a touchdown if he had
cocked out.
Speaker 5 (34:47):
Yeah, going the other way.
Speaker 4 (34:49):
Behavior Thomas almost had that one.
Speaker 5 (34:51):
Our defensive end. TJ. Thomas did a great play on that.
Speaker 4 (34:56):
Shill'll be second down in ten block stop with that
incomplete for the moment, here was six twenty one left.
Harrington is gonna let it fly and then always have
to be worried about the quarterback run as well. Two
wides either side here for Harrington, nobody in the backfield
with him here on this second and ten play from
his on twenty four quick throw gets it to the sidelines,
(35:19):
and a good job on the far side of the
field making that tackle for the Bulldogs was Jay Battle
as it was completed on that far side of the
field to Jeffrey Ellis third and six, maybe third and uh,
I think it is a four yard pickup, so it
(35:39):
will be third and six. So callaway from their own
twenty eight yard line, second down in six, five point
fifty left here in the first quarter, callaway trying to
keep their drive going here leading seven to nothing, five
wide look and a quarterback keeper. He's not going anywhere.
A good job by the defensive line coming in and
pick an app the quarterback Blake Rrington for a one
(36:00):
yard pickup up to the twenty nine Josh Davis first
one there and the callaway Calves will have to punt
it for the first time.
Speaker 3 (36:07):
Job.
Speaker 4 (36:07):
Andre then comes out to receive this punt. He did
a great job last week too receiving punts. He saved
one that almost went over his head. Coach made a
great pride on that one.
Speaker 3 (36:17):
Josh Davis number ninety three Senior five eight two sixty two.
Speaker 5 (36:21):
Great play, d Harris.
Speaker 4 (36:23):
The punter stands at this fifteen yard line awaiting this snap.
Speaker 3 (36:26):
Let see if we can make something happen here on
this punt. This boy is not a great punter.
Speaker 4 (36:31):
Yeah, no, no gain on that last place, or the
pun will come. The snap comes from the twenty eight
short punt and then comes up and fields it at
the thirty eight yard line. Makes a nice move at
the forty five at the cross midfield. Here comes andre
across the forty forty five inside the thirty yard line
and take it down at the twenty eight yard line.
A great return there by Andre Van all the way
(36:53):
down to the twenty yard line with his dang helmet.
Speaker 3 (36:59):
Should have been a pempalty there. That's okay, all right.
Speaker 4 (37:01):
Jelle's got the Bulldogs set up right at the twenty
eight yard line. That's worth snapped it. So great return
there by Andre Van. Let's go offense. See if Colby
Key and the offense come out trailing seven nothing, four
to forty seven left in the first quarter. Coming to
you from the Orthopedic Clinic broadcast bleacher location here at
Callaway Stadium under the tent here Orthopedic Clinic with two
(37:24):
great locations.
Speaker 6 (37:27):
C J.
Speaker 4 (37:27):
Johnson is the tailbag. They'll give it to CJ running
right side. CJ good tough running inside the twenty five.
CJ down to the twenty four yard pick up. Four
yards on that run.
Speaker 3 (37:38):
Excellent, excellent.
Speaker 4 (37:39):
This is the type of game you want to play.
You want to start wearing on these defensive linemen because
they're also playing offensive line.
Speaker 5 (37:46):
Right six one two oh seven senior stay j jot.
Speaker 4 (37:50):
Aj state he's in there. Two wide receivers to the left,
single receiver to the right side, and the handoff is
a reverse play. Here comes Jalen right and Jalen cut
down before he could get to the twenty yard line.
They're gonna mark him down at the twenty two and
so a short two yard pick up there. Jalen Washington
tried to set up that reverse that was defended well
(38:12):
by Callaway. And it will be a third and short.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
Yeah, will Well, it is gonna be two down territory
for sure.
Speaker 4 (38:21):
Third down and two for Opalaiko and the twenty two
yard line of callaway c J. Johnson, the tailback Colby Key,
out of the shotgun. Key gets the snamp, hands it
to Johnson. He's got the first down. CJ stays on
his feet inside the sixteen down to the close to
the fifteen yard line. I think I'll mark him at
the sixteen yard line. Good first round. He picked up
(38:44):
six yards. It's the Lambert transferring storage first down for
the Bulldogs. That'll move the chains. Clock running three thirty
three remaining here in the first quarter. Bulldogs trailing seven nothing,
trying to put a drive together and tie this game up.
Two receivers to the right side. Ce J Johnson stays
in there, tailback at the sixteen a callaway. CJ gets
the handoff met at the line of scrimmage. Days on
(39:04):
his feet. He's inside the fifteen down to the thirteen
yard line. He'll pick up three tough yards.
Speaker 3 (39:11):
Jeremy Dillard Corbin Fears went over there on the left
side that time. Just keep hammering at him even though
the hammer ain't in there.
Speaker 4 (39:21):
Come on, two fifty eight clock running here in the
first quarter. Two wide receivers either side now on this
second down play, Kobe drops back steps up in the pocket,
runs to the right side, trying to look down. Feel
nice move inside the ten, Kobe inside the five. He'll
walk it in the end zone for the bull done
touchdown Colby Key. He doesn't like to run it, but
(39:43):
that time he had no choice and he made a
nice nifty move and the defender slipped down and he
walked it in. And a nice job there by Kobe Key.
Speaker 5 (39:53):
Big touchdown right there.
Speaker 4 (39:55):
Thirteen yard touchdown run by kolbe Key with two forty three,
a point after away from tie in. This one up.
So we'll see if rees can shake off those cobwebs
from last week and get that point after up and good.
It will come from the hole to backup quarterback sophomore
with Cooper cam Railey will be the snapper. Good snap
and the kick is up and the kick is no
(40:17):
good extra pool, look like you met it to the right.
So the Bulldogs trail by one here, seven to six.
So the extra point woes continue for the Bulldogs. Well,
take a quick time out, we'll come back here, let's know,
but like a Bulldog football here on the kicker. Well,
(40:38):
the Bulldogs do get a score, but come up short
on the extra point. As the Dogs trail at seven
to six at Scoring Drive, Power by my friends and
Open like a Power Services hometown people working for you
online and open like a Power dot Com. Coach McCracken,
me Riggs, Jason Lee and Mac McCracken on the sidelines,
and we're coming to here for the North Peeda Clinic
broadcast location here at which we're in the stands with
(41:01):
OPLAKA fans tonight having a good time here. Dogs down
by one of six, good defensive trip out last time
for coach Massy's punch and Reese does get a good
end over end kick that seals all the way in
the back of the end zone. Ree's just having a
little mental issue right now with these extra points, and
you know, when that next one goes through, probably won't
(41:22):
be an issue the rest of the season, but getting
first one is the horse that I think, Coach it's
all mental something like that.
Speaker 3 (41:28):
Yeah, Rayley Snap wasn't real good on that when that
one's on the ground, but he's sit still should have made.
Speaker 4 (41:33):
It, you know, aside from any stamp holder, any you know,
extra points just you know, they got to be the
routine thing.
Speaker 5 (41:39):
But it's right, You're right.
Speaker 4 (41:43):
The line of scrimmage is the twenty yard line. That'll
be first and ten for Blake Harrington and the Callaway
ifence a man, we got to.
Speaker 3 (41:50):
Come back here now the first five minutes is gone,
and so hey, we got to get the ball back
right here.
Speaker 5 (41:56):
Make them punt two.
Speaker 4 (41:58):
Forty three left in the first a one point game
right now, as Callaway leads at seven six over Opalaika.
Speaker 5 (42:04):
Don't let him run the football.
Speaker 4 (42:08):
Harrington with one big pass play across the middle. It's
the snap he wants to throw here. Rolls Now tries
to throw back, got it at the twenty yard line
down at thirty and a tackle made around the thirty
seven yard line, and that one was complete to number
twenty four Jay mahone, and that will be enough for
a first down. Good misdirection there, rolled to his left
(42:29):
and a throw back here to the near side and
tight rope the uple like a sideline for the first
down up to the thirty two yard line. That was
a twelve yard pickup for Kellaway and a Cavalier first down.
Come on, Dave, let's go to iid left singer receiver
to the right side, and it will be Harrington on
the quarterback keeper. He's got some running room, cuts it
outside and he's tired, got the sidelines across midfield. There
(42:52):
goes Harrington. He's got a first down and more there's
a flag down though with a forty two yard line,
this one looks like a Callaway penalty and it's gonna
come back.
Speaker 3 (43:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (43:01):
He threw our guy down. That's going to be ten. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (43:06):
A good penalty on a big run there by Harrington,
which will be negated by that hold. So this one
is coming back. Two o seven remaining here in the
first quarter hold against Callaway. White hat makes the signal,
so again we'll replay first down. We'll see you exactly well,
(43:30):
they'll market at the at the thirty four, So a
gain two yards out of that, it's got to be
about first down in eighty or four Callaway a minute
fifty eight left. Harrington this time drops back, throws and incomplete.
He threw it to the right of Caden James unable
(43:52):
to catch it at the forty two yard line. It's incomplete.
It will be a third, a second down and a
coming up for Callaway. Cavaliering zero opik here Tadi mental
of Grange, glad you're with us here on ninety seven
point sipping Kicker FM, our Rheartradio app and of course
those listening and watching on the NFHS network tonight.
Speaker 3 (44:12):
Antonius Peters put the pressure on the quarterback then Van
they had a safety blitz on them.
Speaker 4 (44:18):
Good job trips receivers to the right side here on
this second down play for Harrington, gets the snap, hands
the ball off. This is Kennedy left side. Nowhere to
go for Kennedy and Kaden Harris and company were there
to greet him.
Speaker 5 (44:33):
Great job heard down here now.
Speaker 4 (44:37):
And this will be a loss. That was a loss of.
Speaker 6 (44:44):
Frist.
Speaker 3 (44:45):
I'm gonna try to get the They're gonna try to
go for the first down now the you'all got to
get good pressure here now.
Speaker 4 (44:50):
Yeah, But a third and ten after that loss on
the play on that run by Kristen Kennedy, come on
d two white outs either side. Harrington's out of the
shotgun GrimAge a thirty one yard line. Errington drops back,
got pressure in his face, throws across the middle to
a wide open target. First down across the midfield down
to the opal like a forty nine yard line, and
(45:12):
that is a first down completion for Harrington as he
hooked up with Caden Harris. I believe it was for
the first down. That was a twenty yard throwing catch
for the first down, and the chains move for Callaway.
First down and ten at the opal Aca forty nine
(45:34):
after that completion, forty eight seconds the clock running here
in the first quarter, Harrington trips right, single receiver to
the left side. Rrington gets the snap, hands the ball
off up the middle and wide open up the middle
is the tailback for a first down as he carries
at the end of the thirty five yard line. That
was a good run by Jordan. I should say number
(45:58):
dj mahone again on the carry for Callaway. Xavier Thomas
on the tackle for opal Like a first and ten
at the thirty five a Callaway too.
Speaker 3 (46:08):
Big play back running a pass can't do that defense.
Speaker 4 (46:14):
I believe Callaway will be content to make this the
final play of the quarter. Here down to ten, down
to nine, trips to the left side, single receiver to
the right, one loan back here for Harrington. They're gonna
let the first quarter expire, so that will be the
final play of the first quarter. Callaway with the lead
and the momentum as they have Cup a big first
(46:36):
down across midfield. They lead at seven to six as
we had to quarter number two. You're listen, know like
a bulldog football here on the kicker, welcome back here
at Calloway Stadium, time out on the field as we
get ready to head to the second quarter of play.
(46:58):
Seven to six, Sayska. Trails by one right now and
Opal like am missing an extra point of the difference
right now in this ball game. And we're just about
ready for play here and coach right now callaway moving
on down field again. They're at the thirty five yard
line of opalanc out of this time out here as
we get ready to start the second quarter.
Speaker 3 (47:14):
And big play running, big play passing. That's all that is,
Van running right up the tubes at us and then
they threw on us. Somebody's gotta step up and they
could play defensively.
Speaker 4 (47:25):
Yeah, they've done a good job of mixing it up
run pass. We'll see what they do here with trips
receivers right, singer receiver left. It'll be a fake to
the back and a quarterback keeper and a good job
money Thomas revering in there making a nice style shy
money and the rest of that bulldog front.
Speaker 3 (47:41):
I know we got to hold them for two more downs.
We can't even look at a field here.
Speaker 4 (47:45):
Now, loss of two on the play that backs it
up to the the thirty seven yard line.
Speaker 5 (47:52):
They don't throw it here.
Speaker 4 (47:54):
Seven six callaway up by one here, eleven thirty three
left in the first half. If you're just joining us
this one kicking off at seven o'clock Eastern time, is
we're not even towards the almost seven o'clock kickoff time.
Two whiteouts either side. Harrington second and twelve Now for
the quarterback drops back, rolls to his right's got pressure
from the back side, gets it off in time, and
(48:15):
he gets it complete to the twenty four yard line,
and he hooked up with Kate and James. That's good.
Be enough for a callaway first down, no pressure.
Speaker 5 (48:23):
That's another big play.
Speaker 3 (48:28):
It's terrible, good for you scheme.
Speaker 4 (48:30):
Can they marked it down to the twenty five yard lines.
That was good for twelve yards up for Halloway first
down though, first and ten at the twenty five vo
Polaiko two white outs left side, singer receiver to the right,
and eleven minutes remaining here in the first half. Rrington
(48:50):
out of the shotgun. Dogs need another negative play here.
Harrington gets the stamp and quarterback keeper again right up
the middle, stays on his feet and he is down
to the sixteen yard line. That is going to be
good for nine yards. Just shy. Another first in for Callaway.
(49:11):
This is a tough kid. He took a shot, boy.
He took multiple shots last year in that game at
Opal Liking. He had Malik Autry and Tomorrow smiling.
Speaker 5 (49:19):
Came just.
Speaker 4 (49:21):
Head hunting on them all night long. They were handed
last year and East Steed in there and.
Speaker 3 (49:26):
They're whipping our defense right now.
Speaker 4 (49:28):
This is a really good offensive line too. They got
a couple of seniors there. Elijah Rowe left tackle. He's
six four to three hundred, tyrone fitting six foot three hundred.
Both those are your tackles and big guys there on
that offensive line. Second out in three for Callaway, Harrington
play action, Roles right dumps it towards the end zone.
Jump ball tipped up and almost caught by Callaway boy.
(49:49):
Kate and Jims almost came down with it after it
was tipped up by Braden Howard. It was a jump
ball of the end zone and ople like a fortunate
that one landed on the ground, but calls number one
Kate and James was almost there for Callaway. So from
the sixteen it'll be third and one, third down and
right it. Yeah, they're going a long one at the
(50:15):
sixteen yard line of Opalaika Callaway trying to extend their
lead here. They lead it seven to six over Opalaiko.
Need to bring the house boys, DJ Mahoon the loan
back behind Harrington. Everybody else in tight on the line
of scrimmage on this third down play. Got a feeling
this maybe your quarterback run. I ought to be a
hand off to mahone right side, and he's got enough
for the first down as he carries it down inside
(50:37):
the fifteen down around the fourteen yard line. Didn't need much.
Got a couple though, and picks up the first down
for the Cavaliers. They'll move the chains here nine at
forty six. That clock continues to run and Calloway wants
to shorten the game up. And they're doing a good
job of it right now.
Speaker 3 (50:53):
Are they letting those other boys rest and on defiets
and they're taking their time. They're making first downs and
we're only by We're only down by one point.
Speaker 4 (51:05):
Need a play right here.
Speaker 3 (51:06):
He needs to make a play defensively.
Speaker 4 (51:09):
First down and ten for Harrington at the fourteen yard line.
Here's a coss play here near side of the tailback
cuts it inside the ten five and knocked out of
bound's herd at around the four yard line, and it
would be close to a first and goal situation. Now
for Callaway, it is so nine seventeen and the Cavaliers
knocking on the door again here. Depending on where they
(51:32):
spoted the football, they'll mark it down at the three
yard line. So that was an eleven yard run there
for the first down, first and goal, Cavaliers at the
three yard line as they lead it by one, seven
to six. Trying to add to it, though, Harrington the
(51:56):
quarterback as a tailback either said everybody else bunched in tight.
This is quarterback run time. He runs to the right
side and he gets down to the one yard line.
Defense stops him short. A good job there by Elijah
Oden coming up in Josh Davis on the stop. It'll
be second down in goal from the one though. Now
for the Cavaliers, Harrington goes to the sideline. I think
(52:21):
he's just getting his play give a little extra time.
They're very strategic with their operation here is are trying
to get these guys some breathing, some rest, as they
do have guys that play both ways. Coach Pete Wiggins
RUMs the sidelines, one of the coaches around I know
now that has no headsets on, but in control of
(52:42):
his guys in here twenty one years Harrington's second in
goal gets the stamp, runs left side, lunges ahead and
no signal. They're going to say they stopped them short
right there inside the one, So it'll be a third
in goal situation for the capitalis inside the one. As
a clock continues to run here eight sixteen to go
(53:03):
in the first half, and unlike last week, so for
this first half is flying by and the Cavaliers huddle up.
No Rush just goes to the sidelines to get his
play and runs back in. Don't see that much anymore, do.
Speaker 3 (53:20):
You, oh sir?
Speaker 5 (53:21):
They was run straight power right at us.
Speaker 4 (53:25):
Harrington huddles up, his group, comes back set at the
line of scrib his nose of the football right at
the goal line. Here on third down, you.
Speaker 5 (53:30):
Got to get some penetration. He's back at the sick
yard line.
Speaker 4 (53:33):
Yeah, Harrington's gonna get a big running start here on
this quarterback run low snaw gonna have a fall start
against callaways. There's a big break callaway pointing towards Opelaika,
but Opelika is tired. Defensive front comes up in applause.
So we'll see if this one's gonna be finally that
would be big.
Speaker 5 (53:49):
Oh, it's gonna be a hits.
Speaker 4 (53:51):
Us right at the goal line. Boy, So the white
hat comes over and now it's in cation. This is
going to be against Opelaca. Nowhere really to move the football,
so it's not gonna be not sure what the what
(54:14):
that call was here again like a substitution or something
penalty against Opelaika, but it won't matter much. You didn't
move the football hardly at all. So it'll be again
third and goal from right at the goal line. Here,
Harrington gets a snap, fell down and he didn't get it.
He's going to be short. He lost to the yard.
Harrington went down, tripped and fell into the fourth goal
(54:35):
from the one.
Speaker 5 (54:36):
Boy.
Speaker 4 (54:36):
See if the Bulldogs can come up with a goal
line stand here, boy, Harrington almost automatic there in that
short yarded situation. We'll see I think Callaway wants to
call out thin over here coach Pete Wiggins halfway on
the field, and there is the time out taken by
the Cavaliers, so we'll step aside as well. Seven to
six goal line situation coming up for the Calves, fourth
(54:57):
and goal at the one with seven seven team left
in the second quarter. We're back after this here on
the kicker well Calloway called a time out, but they
had a banged up player on the field. It was
one of their linemen, number fifty two, Kamar Simon, the
(55:19):
starting left guard for Callaway. So here they come out
of the time out here and they're gonna go for
it here at the goal line.
Speaker 5 (55:26):
This will be a.
Speaker 4 (55:27):
Fourth down and goal play, as Harrington's gonna spread everybody
out now on this fourth down and goal situation. Here,
He's got three receivers to the right, single receiver to
the left side of the Opalaka fans get on their feet.
They'll bring a man in motion. Ellis goes from left
to right and a whistle and a flag down and
that's gonna go against Calloway. That's gonna be a false start,
(55:47):
a big one there from the goal line.
Speaker 3 (55:50):
They might get the field goal out and.
Speaker 4 (55:52):
We'll see if they do bring in Jaden Bailey. I
don't know. Yep, yep, they're gonna bring in the field
goal team Callaway gonna let it go for a field goal.
What a big win for this defense. That was a huge,
huge victory there. Bailey made a thirty one yarder in
week one, so he certainly got the leg. And this
(56:14):
is right in the middle of the field. Opelika really
prides themselves on special teams and defending these kicks. Harrington
is the quarterback too, and he's gonna hold, so you
got to be in safe mode too. Bailey from right
in the middle of the field and a little chip
shot field goal is up and it is good. So
(56:36):
Callaway is there. Lead four over Oplaika ten to six
with six fifty nine remaining here in the second quarter.
But the Bulldog defense gets a round of applause for
keeping those Cavaliers out of the endzon and it looked
like they were destined for six. They settled for three.
You listened to bullet of football here all fickers. A
(57:00):
good job by the Opalaka defense to keep Callaway out
of the end zone. The Calves settle for three, but
they've got a four point advantage right now over open
like a ten to six as we head down for
a four seasons Federal Credit Union sideline report, Mac McCracken
down on the field, Mac, big win for the d there.
Speaker 9 (57:15):
Yeah, that's what I just told Eddie Owner right there
on the sideline, and listen to coach Spiduh. It's amount
down here right now and the defense is fired up
down here. They called us on that little move paut
van Dad, and we shifted. That's what they called the
penalty on us again. But hey, that's a great job.
That is a victory to hold them to three points.
And let's see if we carry something right.
Speaker 3 (57:34):
Here on this return and get us going here offensively.
Speaker 4 (57:36):
Manfter we'll wake up a little bit right here.
Speaker 5 (57:38):
Yeah, last five minutes and the half man, see if
we can win these last five minutes.
Speaker 4 (57:46):
Ten to six is our score right now with Callaway
leading and a short kick lined up here by Jaden Dailey,
and it's going to go out of bound, so the
Bulldogs will get good field position. They'll start from the
thirty five f yard line. So Callaway not wanting to
give C. J. Johnson a chance after he almost ran
(58:07):
one back in a penalty. What are they doing, I'm
not sure. Oh they're gonna rekick it. Yeah, yeah, they're
not wanting to get it to CJ. Coach Moore at
the luncheon this week, and if you don't get a
chance to go to the over like a Bulldog lunches
(58:28):
is a great opportunity to get insight into the program,
the game plan, and coach Moore said that a lot
of their starters are not in on special teams. They
really think they can take advantage. And now they're almost
teeing it up like they're gonna get an on side
kick attempt.
Speaker 6 (58:41):
Here.
Speaker 4 (58:42):
Jadeen Bailey has the ball laid over on his side here.
Now he tees it up normal as he gets some
direction from the from the sideline, so we'll see if
it goes regular kick here. He'll kick it now from
the thirty five yard line rekick after the penalty, kicking
from right to left. A squib kicked down the middle
(59:03):
of the field and it is picked up at the
twenty yard line. This is Andre Van and he's dragged
down to the thirty yard line. So the Bulldogs will
lose five there on the re opportunity but they'll start
for their own thirty yard line and we'll see what
the offense can do here. And well, you feel like
if the Bulldogs can score and get this lead, maybe
take control of this ball game here with six fifty
(59:24):
five left in the first half, it'd be nice to
go into the locker room with the lead.
Speaker 3 (59:29):
Yeah, well, here we go. We're gonna be five minus
upter and a half to do.
Speaker 4 (59:34):
Colby Key and the offense first and ten from their
own thirty yard line. We come d for the Orthopedic
Clinic Broadcast booth here at Callaowe Stadium in Lagrains ten
six Ball Game Dogs Trailer four. Here's Kolby hands the
ball off.
Speaker 5 (59:47):
This is C. H.
Speaker 4 (59:48):
Johnson saying on his feet CJ close to a first
down and he carries it up to the thirty eight
yard line and that'll be a pickup of eight yards
and it will be a second and two. That's more
like the Bulldog run game. We've come a cust them
to see in here over the years.
Speaker 5 (01:00:01):
Mason Winlow, Fears Dinnard and pretch It up.
Speaker 4 (01:00:03):
Front, and we see the tempo Oplaika wants to run
with that tempo with Calloway's numbers being limited. Second down
and two handoff is met at the line of scrimmage.
A good push from behind though it's going to be
a first down. Eric Mason did a really good job
coming in there and pushing C. J. Johnson for the
first down and the Bulldogs with the forty one yard
line so that they'll be picked up a three labor
(01:00:26):
transfer and storage first down. We see Calloway trying to
run subs in and get them in and the Bulldogs
can snap it here. Almost didn't get Tevin Mackfield off
the field in time, but it'll be first and ten
Dogs from their own forty one yard line, and now
Jalen Washington goes in motion. They'll give it a Jalen
on the speed suite, Jalen trying to turn the corner
(01:00:46):
at the forty five yard line and Jalen wrapped up
right at the forty five. They'll give them the forty six.
It'll pick up five yards. That's one of those plays
you hope to get Petert on it, but you'll take
six in and be second and four.
Speaker 5 (01:00:59):
Good job right there.
Speaker 4 (01:01:00):
Five forty five o clock running here in the first half,
Jordan Waits now in the ball game.
Speaker 5 (01:01:04):
Giving a breather to C. J. Johnson.
Speaker 4 (01:01:07):
That's a good two headed monster for the Bulldogs. The
senior five nine one eighty seven. He had eleven carries
last week for forty nine yards and that went over
Benjamin Russell. Second down and six for the Bulldogs. F
from on forty six yard line, Kolbe drops back, wants
to has to throw it at dirt into the turf.
(01:01:28):
Theres tyrone Fitting, one of their big stars for Callaway,
busted through the line and put the pressure on Colby.
Now to be third down and four for the Bulldogs.
They'll need to get the midfield. The first own wasn't
anybody opened there.
Speaker 5 (01:01:41):
I was looking.
Speaker 4 (01:01:42):
I think they were trying to almost it set up
a screen, but nobody there in time. Now to be
two white outs either side. Big down here, third down
and four for Opalaiko. That's five yeah, that should be
against Callaway. They came across the neutral zone Opelika move,
but it will be against Callaway, so that'll be five
yards and that will be enough for a first down.
(01:02:04):
Good job, that's a way to convert that first down
and that will be enough for a Lambert transfer and
storage first down Bulldogs now across the fifty at the
Callaway forty nine yard line. After that penalty, spirit of
the south marching ban has now finally arrived here. Maybe
they can make a difference five twenty to go here
(01:02:26):
the first town Bulldog's trail ten to six to Callaway
wide out either side. Kolby play action crowds down now
throws across the middle and it is underthrown. It intercepted
Calway now setting up a return at the thirty five
and out of bounds at around the thirty three yard line.
Speaker 6 (01:02:44):
That was a.
Speaker 4 (01:02:46):
Big underthrown ball by Colby, and I'm not sure what
he was seeing there, but it was just two defenders
and they came back and made the interception.
Speaker 5 (01:02:54):
They had a clipping penaltry.
Speaker 4 (01:02:55):
Back at the twenty five, all right, so that will
be on the return Callawai will keep the football though
with nine left, trying to set up a home run
toss there by Colby.
Speaker 5 (01:03:03):
But how they were not a good path.
Speaker 3 (01:03:06):
He got pressure, not a good.
Speaker 4 (01:03:09):
They did not bite on the playfake there at all,
and I think he was I think Kobe was thinking
they were going to be a lot more open than
they were.
Speaker 5 (01:03:16):
But that one.
Speaker 4 (01:03:17):
You just got to can't under throw a pass like
that either, been better off.
Speaker 5 (01:03:23):
To eat that one.
Speaker 4 (01:03:24):
Callaway will start though, from their on fifteen yard line.
The Bulldogs did get some tempo going, so maybe that
wore out some of these linemen that play both ways
and the Dog defense can get a big play here.
Down four, ten to six on the road at Callaway
five o night remaining here in the first half. We'll
see Harrington come out. He doesn't lay defense, he's fresh
and you know he's raring to go.
Speaker 3 (01:03:43):
Yeah, this is a little like last week's game. We're
down about four with five minutes to go in the half.
Speaker 4 (01:03:53):
Harrington in the ball game now is they'll start from
there on a fourteen yard line. Harrington quick throw here
near side and getting a block ahead. Nice tackle though,
and good pursuit at the nineteen yard line. It'll be
a pickup of five yards, but could have been a
lot more. Elijah Odin is there to take home take
(01:04:15):
on DJ Mahome wide receiver for Callaway.
Speaker 5 (01:04:18):
Yeah, we got to get a little closer up on him.
Those corners give that much, so up.
Speaker 4 (01:04:26):
To the nineteen yard line it will be second down
in five coming up here for callaway, two white outs right,
two white outs left, single back set here for Blake Harrington.
Now he empties the backfield. Harrington gets the snap, pressure comes,
they try to set up a screen. It's completely herded.
It up at the twenty four yard line. Was Jeffrey Ellis.
Tremaine Thomas was there to make the tackle, but it's
(01:04:46):
enough for a first down and to get six yards
on the quick throw here to the near side. Now
with four to twenty three, the clock continues to run.
Opalaika brings in a new crew on the defensive line.
Callaway up by four. Still ten to six here in
(01:05:07):
lagrange trips receivers now to the right side. Singer receiver
here to the left side. Now again Harrington empties the backfield.
They'll throw it to the back. Out of the backfield.
It's caught by Mahomes at the forty five to twenty
five thirty and he's across the thirty five yard line,
stumbled ahead across the thirty five la Keeddrick Burks was
(01:05:28):
there for the stop, but it's another first down. Ten
yard completions out of the backfield.
Speaker 3 (01:05:33):
He's out playing a fan. They're throwing the ball quick outside.
We can't get out there. Good execution by Callaway. Their
quarterback is really doing a good job.
Speaker 4 (01:05:44):
Yeah, dj mahone the tail back there, it'll be an
empty backfield. Now five White look three to the left,
two to the right. Here for the Cavaliers. Harrington out
of the shot. Good from his own thirty five yard line.
Harrington now across the middle, picktop by the bull Dogs.
That's Exavy Thomas across the thirty inside the twenty ten
cut at the five, stays on his feet, cuts down.
Speaker 5 (01:06:06):
Xavier Thomas picked six. That's what they needed.
Speaker 4 (01:06:10):
Harrington was looking across the middle and that time Xavier Thomas,
who almost had an interception earlier, got that one and
a nice return for the Bulldogs to the house for six.
Speaker 5 (01:06:20):
Now that's what you're talking about. A big play last
five minutes and a half.
Speaker 4 (01:06:24):
Junior boy, when your offense had just made a mistake,
you what do you do? You come out your defense,
You take one away and Xavier Thomas getting intercepted, had
six tackles for loss last week and that's his first
interception of the season. Now, Reese Beasley in for the
extra point, which has been nothing but a very high
(01:06:46):
blood pressure situation for the Bulldogs. We'll see if he
can get this one through. Got a boy and that
one is hump and it is good. Maybe that'll shake
the monkey office back there and the Bulldogs lead it
thirteen to ten over callaway that scoring drive power by
open like a Power's services home ten people working for
you online at opelakapower dot com. Dogs on top now
thirteen ten. We're back after this time out here on
(01:07:07):
the kicker leg of pick six for mister rick X.
Either Thomas the junior comes through in the secondary for
the Bulldogs taking it to the house and it's open
like lead here thirteen to ten or calib dogs first
even with the go in the first half and we.
Speaker 3 (01:07:29):
Still got three timeouts left. We need to Hey, we
need to kick, stay down and get the ball by
jun your life, I guarantee you.
Speaker 5 (01:07:44):
Thirteen ten.
Speaker 4 (01:07:46):
What Mac wants to talk to you, man, Well, Mike
can't hear us right now, and I can't fix it
right now.
Speaker 5 (01:07:51):
We'll get to it shortly.
Speaker 4 (01:07:54):
Come on, ree, Here is a kick gets end over
end kick and it's faled it down at the one
yard line up you picked it up at the one.
This is Jeremiah Dunn's in trouble and the defense comes
and brings them down at around the eight yard line.
Great coverage there by the kick team and Jamal Griffin
was in there on the stop for the Bulldogs.
Speaker 5 (01:08:16):
Check the power Oh yeah, came on plugging. There we go.
You're gonna have to get the power butt. I think.
Speaker 4 (01:08:31):
Threeh eight to play here in the first half. Mackie
got us. Now, well, it'll be a first and ten
situation here for Callaway. Backed up inside their ten, they'll
start for their own nine yard line. Here's ass player
the right side and cut inside and up to the
fifteen yard line gets stopped there by the pulldogs to
(01:08:53):
keep add into a five hard pickup.
Speaker 3 (01:08:56):
Now that's too much. You got to get the ball
back now. We don't want to let them put it back.
Speaker 4 (01:09:00):
To this up to the fifteen yard line. It will
be second down in five coming up here for Calloway.
They're trying to run this clock and not give the
football back dope like as well. Two white outs to
the left side need a big negative play here on
setting down Harrington out of the shot gun down, he'll
empty the backfield, gets the snappump things he wants to
run right and got tackled from behind shy of the
(01:09:23):
nineteen yard line. So that will be a four yard
pickup and looks like they're moving the chains. That'll be
enough for a first down. So that will move the
chain to give Callaway a first down. Two to twenty
three remaining, So Calloway now with two white outs to
(01:09:44):
the left side and two wide receivers out to the right.
Calloway taking their time as a game. Clock winds down
to two oh five remaining here this first half, Bulldogs
on top thirteen to ten. Harrington with a hard County
empties the backfield quarterback drops back, pump thinks, takes a shot.
He's got Kate and James wide open, caught it at
(01:10:05):
the midfield. Makes a man miss or the nice job
they're staying with it and making the tackle was number
eight Antonius Peters, and he says a touchdown at the
forty yard line, and that's gonna be a big pick
up of forty one yards and that's a Callaway first down.
Can't let Kate and James get you beat tonight. He's
(01:10:26):
almost like the number one last week from Benjamin Russell.
He's their go to guy. They want to get the
football to us. First down to ten YEP, trips to
the right, single receiver left. Harrington now rolls to the
right and throws and it is tip knocked away. Great
play there by Braden Howard who comes over and knocks
it away intended receiver Jeffrey Ellis.
Speaker 5 (01:10:47):
Good job, Braden. That'll stop the.
Speaker 4 (01:10:48):
Clock with one twenty nine second down and ten.
Speaker 5 (01:10:51):
We can't lose contain up there on the top side.
Speaker 4 (01:10:55):
Well, you see exactly what coach Wiggins' game plan is.
It's not gonna be sitting in the pocket because he
knows oph like his defense was too good. He's gonna
roll Harrington left or right any time. They haven't want
to try to take a shot down field right and
so far as working, if he doesn't like what he sees,
he can turn it upfield and run it Harrington out
of the shot and gun. Here's second down in ten,
(01:11:15):
trips receivers to the right, single receiver left Harrington again,
no flag on the play, and I believe a time
out taken by Calloway, So time out on the field
will step aside as well as a thirteen ten ballgame
Oplaika on tie, but callaway sitting second and ten at
the Bulldog forty. We come back. We'll go back here
(01:11:41):
to Calloway Sadium. Van Riigs alongside Jason Lee. We got
coach Spence McCracken, the Hall of Fame football coach Mac McCracken.
You got us down the sidelines now, yeah, okay, good Joal.
The plug got pulled. You know we're in the bleacher. Yeah,
we're in the bleachers. You know we're under a ten.
You know we've been scrambling around a little bit.
Speaker 9 (01:11:58):
Mack Tony, Hey, big one right here in the huddle.
We're gonna have a big stop right here, boys, all right,
out of the time out here for callaway. We'll be
sticking down in ten.
Speaker 4 (01:12:08):
Harrington is from his own forty yard at the opal
like a forty yard line calvs. Moving from right to left,
Harrington out of the shotgun, He's got trips to the right,
steps up in the pocket pressures. There he heaves one
deep down field and it is Timpton knocked away. What
a great play by the Bulldog defense on the far
side of the field. That was Antonius Peters with great
(01:12:29):
coverage as he knocked that one away from the intended
wide receiver. There for the Bulldog or for Callaway, and
I believe that was intended for Jeffrey Ellis on the
far side of the field, Callaway with that gray on black,
and it is hard to seek for the far side
of the field from where we are third down and
ten though at the Bulldog forty yard line, Callaway trailing
(01:12:49):
by three here thirteen ten. We only have one twenty
left here in the first half.
Speaker 5 (01:12:53):
Press through the quarterback pressuring.
Speaker 4 (01:12:55):
Two whiteouts either side. Mahone is the long tail back.
Harrington drops back pressure, come steps up in the pocket,
wants to throw deep, wide open inside the ten five touchdown.
Jeremiah Dunn got behind the defense and he was wide open.
And there's a flag in the ends of her celebrating
on Callaway. But somehow, after some great coverage, that was
(01:13:18):
a bust and Callaway retakes the lead with one twelve
left sixteen thirteen and a point after a timp coming
here for the Cavaliers. And this could be a costly
point after a tip that this sportsman like can be
assessed here on the point after probably we'll be on
the kickoff, but we'll wait and see. Like Callaway is
(01:13:46):
really good rolling out They've got some good receivers downfield,
and if you give Harrington enough time, he can make
you pay. Now, we saw it right there. The unsportsmanlike
conduct penalty was thrown on the Cavalier. That's lights go
out now here at the ballpark in the bleacher area here.
(01:14:07):
But I think the field of play is still illuminated.
Speaker 5 (01:14:09):
Okay, but.
Speaker 4 (01:14:11):
Something we may have to keep an eye on. Whistle
blown on the extra point. Believe early movement here by
Opelikah or a movement penalty by Callaway.
Speaker 5 (01:14:21):
Will wait and see.
Speaker 4 (01:14:24):
Sixteen thirteen right now, one twelve left in the first half,
and the white hat comes over and procedure penalty against Callaway.
This is a big extra point. It will make it
a four point game. Put some pressure here on Jade
and Bailey in this point after attempt just a one
(01:14:46):
twelve left. But Opelika has shown in special teams they
can return a kick and they've put the pressure on Callaway.
Still an opportunity here maybe to come away with some points.
If you're Opalaikah Jaden Bailey for an extra long after
attempt here, you know the snap is down and that
extra point is up and it is good. So one
(01:15:09):
twelve remaining here in the first half of play. It
is now a four point lead for Callaway seventeen thirteen,
and we'll be back after this time out. You're listening
to Bulldog Football on the nine seven point seven kicker
FM one twelve left here in the first half. Callaway
(01:15:34):
has marched it down the field to retake the lead
seventeen thirteen. Some great passing by Blake Harrington. Good job
to put that interception behind him, and right now, Pologa,
his offense is only accounted for six points. The other
seven points or six points came from the interception by
the defense, and the point after attempt on that touchdown
(01:15:54):
was good by Rhys Beasley. Short kick right toward midfield,
fair catch called for the forty one yard line by
Opelaikah and that was Jakari Walton calling for that fair catch,
so Opelaikah will have good field position. They'll have it
from their own forty six yard line, so fifty four
yards to go. Coach, let's get a touchdown here with
(01:16:14):
one twelve left.
Speaker 3 (01:16:15):
Hopefully we can. Yeah, bo that heard us last night.
Woo ay, we're still in the last five minutes of
a half.
Speaker 4 (01:16:23):
Well, I could tell you one thing. They're going to
say forty five yard line, so the Bulldolls have fifty
five yards to go for the touchdown.
Speaker 6 (01:16:28):
But this is.
Speaker 4 (01:16:32):
A great tune up for this defense to get ready
for us to come in the region, because you know
we're going to see some high potent offenses. It's going
to be able to run, scramble and throw just like this.
Callaway team, Yes, sir Colby Key with an empty backfield here,
four wide receivers to the right. They'll try to set
a screen up to Jalen Washington, Jalen at the forty
four yard line. Just gotta be wrapped up. Couldn't get away.
It's going to be a loss of one back to
(01:16:53):
the forty four yard line. And Calloway's defense has been
too fast for that screen game so far. Tonight, Yes,
clock continues to run under a minute. Now fifty two
to fifty one. Opal like again with a five wide
look here, three to the left, two to the right.
Colby drops back, steps up in the pocket, looks down field,
tosses it complete and now to the forty yard line.
(01:17:16):
Did not get out of bounds, though, as Keeling banks
on the reception stop with forty one seconds. Coch morganna
elect not to use a time out here. I think
he will take a time out. Yeah, he comes in
quickly and takes the time out. I think they got
about four or five second off the clock though it
stopped with thirty five seconds left and oheik, we'll have
(01:17:40):
a time out. They're trying to think it over. Coach More,
I think is going to hold some extra time put
back on the clock here. We'll see if he gets some.
I think they let um four seconds go off the
clock when he called a timeout. He's out talking to
nobody at the moment. He's trying to get an air
of an official back. Big situation here. I know, as
you head towards the huddle, we'll let you listen in
(01:18:01):
and try to figure out and we'll come back to
you here in just a moment. But it is a
seventeen thirteen game callaway with the lead here by four
with thirty five seconds left here in this first half,
mac big situation here. Dogs could use a at least
a Reese Beasley opportunity here. They need to get to
the thirty yard line for a shot of the field goal. Yeah, exactly.
May a lot of confidence right there in that huddle break.
Speaker 9 (01:18:21):
They know they needed a couple of yards, but you're right,
let's see if we get receranged right here.
Speaker 4 (01:18:29):
All right, thank you Mac. Out of the time out.
Thirty five seconds left, Bulldogs still with two timeouts and
the thirty yard lines where you need to get to
feel comfortable with a shot at the Reese Beasley field goal.
Two white outs either side. Colby drops back this time hastime,
but he throws another interception at the thirty one yard line,
picked off by Callaway. And on the interception for Callaway
(01:18:51):
that was number twenty nine, Caden Stargel and Callaway will
probably sit on this and take it to the half
as they guide it to. They're on forty one, forty
yard line. Just another tough interception there by Kobe Kiya
second of the night, and now we'll see Cawait come
out feel pretty good about the first half they played
(01:19:13):
against the Sopelanka Tea.
Speaker 5 (01:19:18):
So it'll be.
Speaker 4 (01:19:21):
Twenty nine seconds left, Callaway up by four, seventeen thirteen,
unless coach Wickins has tried decides to maybe push it here.
With twenty nine seconds, he's got two timeouts, we'll see
he could take a shot or two. Hey, it's worked
so far, pretty good. He's got trips receivers to the right,
single receiver to the left side, and callaway. The line
(01:19:41):
of scrimmage is their own forty yard line. Everything's gonna throw.
He pumped fakes, takes a shot deep down field and
is underthrown and that could have been offensive past interference.
But you're not gonna get that on the underthrown ball.
And it's good by Jay Battle. Kada James just did
a good job screening him a because that was a
(01:20:02):
that was an underthrown ball by Harrington. Clock stop with
twenty two seconds left.
Speaker 5 (01:20:06):
I got a good pass rush that time two. Van
almost got to him, all right.
Speaker 4 (01:20:12):
See if the Bulldogs can get another pick six here
Xavier Battle or Xavier Thomas rather already with one pick
six for the Bulldog defense, two whiteouts either side. Harrington
gets the snap, rolls to the right, pressure in his face,
and he heaves this one way downfield and overshot his
intended wide receiver. Jeremiah done. Sixteen seconds left and it'll
be third down, and now you're in a situation here.
(01:20:34):
If you run this one, Bulldogs can call a time
out and force a pun yep and Opealak has not
had to use any timeouts here, So Harrington electing to
go and coach Wiggins in the offense electing to go
deep and take some shots. We'll see what they decided
(01:20:55):
to do here. On this third down play with a run,
I would imagine we would see a quick timeout taking
by coach Bryan Moore. Cavaliers empty the backfield from their
own forty pump fake Harrington quarterback scramble. He's gonna run
for it, He's gonna be short of the first down,
and coach Moore comes in calls a time out. It'll
stop the clock with eight seconds left. As he carried
(01:21:17):
it up to the forty eight yard line, did pick
up eight yards, but short of the first down.
Speaker 5 (01:21:21):
And now.
Speaker 4 (01:21:22):
That will force a decision here for coach Pete Wiggins,
if he wants to go for it, are trying to
line up and punt it. I would imagine here.
Speaker 5 (01:21:34):
He may go for this.
Speaker 4 (01:21:37):
I don't know if he wants OPO like, if he
wants to try to risk a punt here, we'll see
eight seconds left.
Speaker 5 (01:21:43):
What you call it here?
Speaker 4 (01:21:44):
If you coach Wiggins, you're gonna get to try to
get the first down here.
Speaker 9 (01:21:48):
Yeah, I mean, the way their defense is playing, I
would I mean, I wouldn't rest the punt it at all,
but I'll just try to go for it because their
defense is playing pretty good.
Speaker 4 (01:21:56):
Yeah, I kind of agree. I mean, right now, Opalaika's
offense has not shown that there's anything to fear. Giving
them fifty yards and maybe three seconds, I think he
would think that Coach Moore will probably be content to
take a knee and take it to the house. Eight
seconds left. There be two timeouts for Opalaika, one time
(01:22:16):
out for Callaway. They are lining up light. They're gonna
punt it here. So this is a one of the
reasons we're not a coach. Dee Harris is the punter.
He stands inside the thirty five to await the snap
from the forty seven. Now time out taken by coach Wiggins.
We'll see maybe he's changed his mind here, maybe he
elects to try to go for it. He's having a
conversation with his coaches. You know, coach Wiggins does not
(01:22:39):
have headsets on. So we'll see coach McCracken, Hall of
Fame football coach, what do you think here? Coach, I'm
on punt, you're gonna punt, Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:22:51):
Go in there with a four point lead. And and
then if it's playing, because they're they're out playing.
Speaker 5 (01:23:00):
They've won.
Speaker 3 (01:23:01):
I see that won the last five minutes. That a
half won the first day, they've outplayed us.
Speaker 8 (01:23:07):
Fan.
Speaker 4 (01:23:08):
If you call a punt coach McCracken, though, and it's
blocked and returned for a touchdown. In the postgame interview,
would you say my offensive coordinator shouldn't have called that
that punt? I would you had have took the blame for.
Speaker 5 (01:23:19):
You, right, yep? Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:23:21):
You say you want to tell your punter here to
one step the ball. Yeah, you better get it off quick,
that's right, get it and kick it. Yeah, maybe Andre
Van can get a good return. Here he stands at
around the twenty five yard line. Throw the ball.
Speaker 4 (01:23:33):
Yeah, they're gonna go for it now, I think, and
we'll see if pays off either way. Here, two white
outs to the left, single receiver to the right side.
It's an empty backfield here for Blake Harrington. And now
Harrington looks like he's gonna away and he just swibs
it out of bounds and it got out of bounds
with three seconds left on the clock in Opalaika. I'm
(01:23:55):
sure wants to get to the locker room here trailing
this game only by four, and and try to regroup
and get the troops fired up. It's been a sloppy
first half here on the road in Lange, a line
of scrimmage with the Bulldogs will be there on thirty
eight yard line. Two time outs, but only three seconds
on the clock. So we'll see if Colby drops down
(01:24:15):
to a knee, takes a knee and heads to the
locker room here. It looks like a lot of the
open like a players are already heading in that direction.
Bulldogs shotgun formation here may run one play here. We'll
see Colby gets the snamp. It'll be a run play
(01:24:37):
for C. J. Johnson CJ left side at the forty
five and carries it up to the forty eight yard line,
and that will be the last play of the first
tap Colby key of the offense and sideline heads towards
the locker room here. Bulldogs trailed by four on the
road at lagrange to callaway seventeen thirteen and Dogs open
mutters coming up in half number two are at the
(01:24:59):
orth Pity Clinic Broadcast Booth, Jason Lee's going to be
coming to you and giving you what scores we do have.
Of course, most games have only been playing for about
fifteen minutes, so it's not going to be much around
as far as scores go. But we do have the
schedule coming up for tomorrow night with area teams. We
could run down and tell you what's going on there
and get you ready for the second half. And Jason's
(01:25:20):
got some first half statistics also that we'll run through
here at the half But Orthopedic Clinic Broadcast Booth, East
Alabama's go to center for orthopedic care online at the
Orthoclinic dot com. Matt McCracken's got coach. Let's go, mack. Oh,
he's with the TV right, Yeah, we got to wait
on all right, Yeah, he's talking with TV. And then
(01:25:40):
we'll get coach heading into the locker room here and
thank Coach mc cracking reminded me here when I didn't
see coach, we were wondering where he was, so he
is over there with the TV crew. We'll get a
visit with coach Brian Moore, and then we will head
towards the locker room and get ready for the second half.
(01:26:01):
All right, Mac, We'll send it downstairs till you go ahead.
Thank you, coach, one oh hard for a game right
now going on.
Speaker 9 (01:26:06):
I know there's frustration on the sideline as well as
the coach is staff, and I know you competitor.
Speaker 7 (01:26:10):
What are we gonna tell our dogs at half? Well,
we better show up or this is gonna be tough here.
We're lucky to be down four. Played absolutely awful in
the first half. That's on me, you know, multiple turnovers
the very first play of the game. We have a
we have twelve guys on the field. Like again, it's
on me. I've got to do a better job of
getting our guys going, and we're about to address it.
Speaker 3 (01:26:31):
Now as well.
Speaker 5 (01:26:32):
We've got two halves. Let's go get them all.
Speaker 4 (01:26:34):
Right, Thanks so much, man, This coach trying more there
as the heads and the locker around. Very frustrated and
as you can tell, it was a very mistake a
lot of mistakes here in the first half of the
Bulldogs and we'll hopefully come out and have a better
second half down the seventeen thirteen here on the road
against the Callaway Cavaliers. We're back after this time out,
you'll listeni p like a bulldog football here on the kicker.
(01:27:10):
Welcome back here on ninety seven point you seven kicker
fm O playka football getting ready for second half action
on the road here in Georgia. Score update from Vestavia.
Vestavia now has taken a twenty one to nothing lead
as they head to the second quarter in that ball game,
and a very surprising score around the state tonight as
Auburn handled Vestavia very handedly back at Duck Sanford Stadium
(01:27:34):
last year. But of course Opelaika and a battle here
against this callaway team right now trailing by four seventeen
thirteen here at the break, and Callawai will also get
the football to start the second half. So coach mcrack
is going to be very key. You really want to
get a three in out, get your offense back on
the field, and get back control of this ball game.
Speaker 3 (01:27:53):
First five minutes the third quarterban you know, you just
look like it is you got two more really crucial
times of the game. First five of the third quarter,
last five of the game. So and the first five
of the third quarter. We need to get the ball
back and scores. And that's basically what we need to do.
Speaker 5 (01:28:13):
We need to make Kim punt, don't give them any
big plays. And we gave you how our defense.
Speaker 3 (01:28:20):
Reacts to what's happened and the score in the Pensaman
Russell game at half, thinking we were down at half?
Speaker 5 (01:28:30):
Were we not by one?
Speaker 3 (01:28:32):
I think I'm not sure, but I know that when
we came out in the third quarter we did pretty
good there. But we're gonna have to play our butts
off tonight and you know, we'll see what happens.
Speaker 5 (01:28:46):
We'll see what we're made of.
Speaker 4 (01:28:47):
Right here, Van, Well, Mac McCracken was wondering about this,
and Mac, let me pass along to the Boise State
is trailing South Florida thirty one seven. It's top twenty
five team in Boise, Mac, and they are trailing right now.
And uh, South Florida thirty one seven, Max.
Speaker 5 (01:29:02):
So there you go. There's your update for you.
Speaker 4 (01:29:04):
That's funny right there.
Speaker 9 (01:29:05):
Well, hey, uh yeah, Coach Boar had a good luck
room meeting, met with the coaches, met with the players.
He knows frustration is in, you know, but look it's
it's just like Pop said. You know, if you played
the game of football, you know it ain't about being
on top the whole time. You got to battle to adverse.
Speaker 3 (01:29:25):
I thought it going up through it.
Speaker 5 (01:29:27):
Hard time times.
Speaker 9 (01:29:28):
So you know they don't hope like it's never laid
down and just quit on anything like that. So look,
we got we got, we got to stop right here
the second half like that, like Dad always harts on
those five minutes. This is a big right here. Hopefully
get a three and out, but continue to play hard.
You know, good things will happen, just like the X
factor with that great pick six right there.
Speaker 5 (01:29:47):
Age.
Speaker 4 (01:29:47):
You know, it's still a second half. You know football,
second half football, there's always two.
Speaker 5 (01:29:50):
Halves to it.
Speaker 3 (01:29:51):
So I just with the dogs, just you know.
Speaker 4 (01:29:54):
To to head back, head back home with the w
Here now, Mac, when you look up here in the
visiting stands, this just turned out to be an exceptional crowd,
broke Alika two.
Speaker 5 (01:30:02):
Yeah, sure it is.
Speaker 4 (01:30:03):
I mean you look across the way at Callaway, I
mean it's their home field. I mean that's it's very
very very sparse crowd. So if you can get this
opal like a crowd into it. Over here on the
business side, look at turn the home game. Hey though
loves their dogs now they do, and especially after that
Week one win against Benjamin Russell. And hey, the crowd
sticking in here ready for a big, exciting second half
(01:30:23):
Dogs trail seventeen thirteen on the road here to Callaway
and Reese Beasley has it teed up and he's getting
ready to boot this one away and get the second
half underway. And Callaway will have a couple of dangerous
return guys back there.
Speaker 3 (01:30:37):
I'm not in the.
Speaker 5 (01:30:42):
Now.
Speaker 4 (01:30:42):
We got too deep at the one yard line and
Reese Beasley, but it's a good end over end kick.
Reese is not allowed either one of those deep guys here,
Am I A done? Or their speedy tail back Kennedy
to a chance on a turn and there's another touchback
and here comes Blake Rington, this dangerous Callaway offense out
first in ten and they'll start from their own twenty
(01:31:04):
yard line. Coming to you for the North Peeda Clinic
Broadcast booth, East Alabama's go to center for orthopedic care
online at the orthrow Clint dot com. Two great locations,
one in Auburn and wan in Ople.
Speaker 5 (01:31:16):
Like it to serve you.
Speaker 4 (01:31:18):
And our good old buddy uh Bus Daniel, he's got
a Thursday the game you know what, if we had
the least got the score of lead, he's winning that
game seven seven. Okay tied up and he had had
a foot injury and hevers recently went to the North
Pedic clinic. Was talking to him this week and hopefully
he can get back one hundred percent soon. Here's Harrington
first and ten from his own twenty yard line, trips
to the right side. Harrington gonna try to roll here
(01:31:39):
in near side, wants to throw they throw back pass.
He's got a guy wide open and overshot him at
the fifty yard line. Bulldogs caught a break there. They
left a wide open Cavalier down the sidelines Geordia and
that was number twenty four of the tailbang DJ mahon
when it was down play two at midfield and there's
going to be in every time out. I'm not sure
if this was a cramp or if he entered his
(01:32:03):
leg laying out for it. This may just be a cramp.
Speaker 5 (01:32:05):
I think it is.
Speaker 4 (01:32:06):
He's up and hobble on off the field. Hopefully just
a cramp. And both of these teams have a long
season ahead of them, and Calloway is going to be
fighting for penalty peny mag and we missed it. Yeah,
I see, Yeah, there was a ten yard penalty that
(01:32:28):
backed him up to the ten yard line. So missed
that one.
Speaker 5 (01:32:31):
I didn't even see that.
Speaker 4 (01:32:32):
Yeah, that must have been a hole. Is this first
down still show to be firm?
Speaker 3 (01:32:37):
You up?
Speaker 4 (01:32:37):
First and first and twenty now from the ten yard line,
quick hand off. This time Harrington's wrapped up and he's
taken down for a loss on the play by Terres Thomas.
Terres Thomas in there to snatch him down. That's going
to be a loss down around the four yard line.
So a big time loss of six there for Callaway,
and that's the start the Bulldogs needed. Boy back him
(01:32:59):
up a ten yard penalty and then a big six
yard loss back inside the five down to the four.
Speaker 3 (01:33:07):
Don't let any of these receivers get by.
Speaker 5 (01:33:09):
You, no, sir.
Speaker 4 (01:33:10):
Come on second down and twenty six now for the Cavaliers,
they're inside the five from their own four yard line.
Harrington out of the shotgun, gets a stamp, hands the ball,
the tailback gets across the five up to the six.
That's just a pickup of two and it's going to
be a third and long. Bulldogs need a good sign
here and get this outfit some good field position here
(01:33:32):
to start in the second half. We're just underway under
eleven to go here in the third quarter, Bulldogs trail
by four seventeen thirteen. If you're just joining us, Harrington
out of the shotgun, he'll have two wide receivers to
the right side, nobody lined up to the left. He
checks the sidelines as he gets to play. Signaled in.
(01:33:52):
Now get to the quarterback. Now let's go press through
the quarterback. Quarterback stands at the one to get this
snaw from his center line of scrimmage of the four,
Harrington pump makes off, wants to run. He's gonna be
brought down at the one yard line. They're gonna say
Ford progress at the line of scrimmage, but baby TJ.
Tremaine Thomas there and brings him down. In what a
(01:34:14):
series for the defense. Ah, that's the way to start.
Speaker 5 (01:34:17):
That was and end up ben.
Speaker 4 (01:34:20):
Loss of a couple back inside the five and out
of the four yard line. Punting time though third and
a mile and the punter stands in the back of
the end zone. Dee Harris will await the snap just
about on the back line of the end zone here
and deep man for Opal like andree Vann. He stands
at the thirty five yard line. Maybe he can take
(01:34:41):
one to the house right here on this return, or
maybe the Bulldogs can block it. Harris gets it quits
a quick boot off. Fan's gonna get out of the way.
He shaked that one way out of hounds at lands
in row three on the home side and the Bulldogs.
Let's see where he walks it up. Looks like it'll
be around the twenty five yard line. Oh, he's inside
the twenty five. He keeps on going. It's gonna be
(01:35:01):
down inside the twenty at the eighteen of Callaway first
and ten Bulldogs. Boy, great field position now for Opulaika.
Gotta had off here, coach down of Tillaway first in ten.
Speaker 5 (01:35:16):
We need to rip through them right here.
Speaker 4 (01:35:20):
Oh gosh, Like I get a C. J. Hunson coming
out to work the tailback position. First up for the Bulldogs.
Opelaca trails by four seventeen thirteen. A good field position
for the first possession of the second half. First down
at the eighteen of Callaway.
Speaker 6 (01:35:35):
C J.
Speaker 4 (01:35:35):
Johnson gets it straight up the gut inside the fifteen
yard line or inside the sixteen. They'll say he's down
at the fifteen yard line, that'll be a pickup of three.
Speaker 3 (01:35:44):
Richard Dillard fears whitlow and Mason let's go knock him off.
Speaker 5 (01:35:48):
The ball.
Speaker 4 (01:35:55):
Shinegun formation. As the rain starts to come down here
at Callaway. It'll be second down on and seven.
Speaker 5 (01:36:02):
CJ.
Speaker 4 (01:36:02):
Johnson to the right now of Colby Key Cole gets
the stamp, little lotch and play handed the siege, trying
to work the out some sieg inside the ten. Good
run by CJ. He puts Dow down at around the
eight yard line. That'll be a pick up a seven
yards go ahead coach, Sorry, that's first down. Yeah, we'll
(01:36:23):
be enough for Lambert transfer in stored. No, it's gonna
be third and one Coachee. Okay, third down and very short.
It'll be an I formation down for the Bulldogs as
Kobe will go under center, the quick hand off to
Jordan Waits at the full back position, and Jordan's got
enough for the first down. Jordan down close to the
(01:36:44):
five yard line. They'll mark him down at the six.
Got two yards and that should be enough for the
first down. No indication yet though. Now it will be
first in goal at the six yard line of callaway
eight thirty four o'clock continuing to run. Here again I
formation here for the Bulldogs. Wait the fullback C J.
Johnson is the running back. It goes to Wait's right
side and Waits gonna be stopped shy of the six
(01:37:08):
yard line, so the right back of live scribbage, so
no game will play. Be second and six again coming
up before the Bulldogs. Now some substitutions coming in for Opelaka.
Andre Van will check in the ball game.
Speaker 3 (01:37:25):
Quarterbacks coming out.
Speaker 4 (01:37:27):
Jalen Washington also in the ballgame, so it looks like
wildcat formation with c. J. Johnson here CJ or Jordan Waits.
It's Jordan Waits play action. Jordan runs right and Jordan
hit at the five spun around right at the five
yard line, so a pickup of just one. So this
(01:37:50):
will be third and goal at the five. Here for Opalaka.
Seven thirty six clock continuing to run. Now Kobe Key
will check back in the ballgame here on the second
the third and goal play.
Speaker 3 (01:38:04):
Come on Dogs.
Speaker 4 (01:38:06):
He had a line of scrimmage right at the five
yard line, so third and goal from the five.
Speaker 6 (01:38:11):
C J.
Speaker 4 (01:38:12):
Johnson the tail back to the right wide out either
side motion to the right to the left. Now two
blockers move to the left side. CJ gets the handoff
out of the backfield, runs right into his man and
he is going to be stopped for no game or
right down to the and then you up and here
comes the field goal team for Opalaka here with six
(01:38:34):
fifty six. I'll try to make it a one point game. Boy,
not what you wanted to do with the starting field
position inside the twenty yard line. But the Bulldogs offence
has been unable to get any kind of really big
penetration on this callaway team. And now Reese Beasley, who
has had a tough start so far with extra points,
we'll see if that last made extra point, give him
(01:38:58):
a little momentum here on this field goal be a
twenty two yard field goal and it's up and good
great field goal there by Rhys Beasley. Dogs are within
one now seventeen sixteen, a one point game. That's scoring.
Drive power by Opelaca Power Services hometown people working for
(01:39:20):
you online at OPA Laka power dot com. We're back
after this time out. You're listening to Bulldog football here
on the kicker row Opelika. Starting offensive field position was
inside the twenty at the eighteen yard line, but unable
to get it in the end zone, they'll settle for three.
And it's a one point game now, seventeen sixteen here
(01:39:42):
on the at Callaway. Then raise a losside coach Bence
McCracken Mac McCracken, Roam of the sidelines MAC four seasons
Federal Credit Union sideline report gots the points, but certainly
wanted to touchdown there.
Speaker 9 (01:39:53):
Yeah, man, you know, of course they're a little frustrator
rut there, just like you said, you know, starting to
inside you twenty right there.
Speaker 4 (01:39:58):
But I wanted to get away three.
Speaker 9 (01:40:00):
But hey, now it's just you know, you're only down
by one point, so you got points on it, so
it's still a victory.
Speaker 4 (01:40:05):
But you know, you'd love to have that six right there.
But hey, what's that three?
Speaker 9 (01:40:09):
And look, let's see if we can get a repeat
of what just happened right here.
Speaker 4 (01:40:12):
With the three and now seventeen sixteen Callaway leading by
one difference in the ballgame right now, one point? That's it,
six twenty one left in our third quarter. Or to
glad you're with us here on ninety sipping point you
snipping kicker FM or right heart radio app man on
the NFSS network. Those watching and listing, there's respisa to
(01:40:34):
kick it right to left as it teed up at
the forty ready to go. Here runs up, puts a
good boot into this one. This one may be sure
of the goal line. None in the end zone. Unable
for again the return guy for Callaway, Jeremiah done to
get return. It'll be first in ten for Callaway for
(01:40:56):
their twenty yard line. Ali Uldos can get another. Goodies
at defense. It was a great job last time. Negative
plays penalty put Callaway back inside the fifteen at their
own ten yard line, and then negative play after negative play,
and that led up the guitardy deial position on offense.
Speaker 3 (01:41:15):
Yeah, a man looked for him to throw the ball
right here on first and then that of four times horror.
Speaker 5 (01:41:23):
Had some space.
Speaker 4 (01:41:26):
In the stub day day nothing that game of second
shocking score from up there Birmingham area six twenty left
here in the third quarter here as we're already underway
here in the second half, playing Georgia time football tonight.
Harrington out of the shotgun speed sweep given to the
motion man. He tries to run far side of the field,
turns it up at the thirties up to around the
(01:41:47):
thirty one yard line. He'll have eleven yard or just down.
So they're manned down for a too. At the twenty
four yard line. One of the injured peers full dogs
and believe that is Elijah Odin who is down on
the field. Training staff coming out to check on Elijah.
(01:42:10):
So we got to time out on the field. Looks
like maybe just a cramp though. Seventeen sixteen are score
six ten to go here in the third back after
this time out, you listen to bulldog football here on
the kicker. Good news is looks like alij Oden just
dealing with some cramps. But it'll be Callaway first and
ten or they're on thirty one when play resumes here
(01:42:31):
in Callaway up by one here seventeen sixteen six oh
five clock starts back here in the third quarter. Harrington
out of the shotgun on first down, quick throw far
side of the field, short side of the field, near
the Callaway sideline, across the thirty five and they'll mark
him up around the thirty seven yard line. So I
quick throw and catch for six yards six yards.
Speaker 5 (01:42:51):
Had twelve yards on the first play.
Speaker 4 (01:42:54):
They gave them seven yards. It's just gonna be second
down in two as he gets it's up to the
thirty eight yard line. Now the line of scrimmage.
Speaker 5 (01:43:03):
Come on, guys, play some d here now.
Speaker 4 (01:43:08):
And Callaway'll lull you to leave with those short passes
and pump theay can take a shut deep too empty backfield.
Now for Harrington, quarterback fake the run, steps back, throws
it to US full back Anderson a good hackle and
open space there by Ope Laika Jacoby Jackson comes up
and makes a nice stop, but it isn't enough for
the first down as he gets up to the forty
(01:43:29):
four yard line for six yards. So first down Cavaliers
as they move from left to right, getting up close
to midfield from their on forty four yard line, and
it'll be a first and ten with five point thirty
seven and the clock a running. And they're taking their time,
playing their speed here up by one seventeen sixteen.
Speaker 5 (01:43:46):
They're not making any mistakes.
Speaker 4 (01:43:49):
Two wide lefts and a receiver to the right side.
Harton thanks the speed, No gives it to the man
in motion. And this is Jeffrey Ellis making some men
miss cross mid field, cross the forty five, stays on
his feet inside the ford of the yard line and
mark him down at the thirty nine yard line. A
week run for seventeen yards by the Calais and they're
(01:44:16):
moving on down the field. Here with five fourteen left
in the third at the opal like a thirty nine
yard line, first and ten Yelloway, somebody's.
Speaker 5 (01:44:27):
Got to make up their mind. The fence over that
r side. Gosh, come on, guys, we're down by one point.
Speaker 4 (01:44:37):
A full back Anderson down tying his shoe. That was
the reason there was a stopage. Employe First and ten.
Now at the thirty nine of Opelaika Harrington with two
wide receivers to the left side, his full back lined
up to the left as well. Play action Harrington pump fakes,
try to take a shot deep and a nice sack
back in the backfield. Carson Riddle broke through the line
of scrimmage. Hello, mister Riddle, making his presence known here
(01:45:00):
game number two with a big one off the bench.
Speaker 5 (01:45:02):
I had a boy, Carson, good job. That a way
to make something happen.
Speaker 4 (01:45:06):
And he gets a big high high from the head
coach as he comes off the field. Now, come on,
do it aguine you guys back to the forty seven
yard line. That was a big time loss, loss of
eight yards. Callaway now for their own forty seven yard
line behind the chains. Big after that loss. On the play,
(01:45:26):
come on d second down, seventeen play action, Harrington, pressure
in his face, he rolls here in near side, throws,
dumps it. It's incomplete. That one was just dropped. That
was intended for number seven Nasaah Houston. But good pressure
by Isaiah Gray and it's incomplete. And that time Houston
(01:45:48):
just let it go right through his hands at the
thirty yard line. He's got a first down if he
comes down with that one. That's another one of the
defensive stats. Gonna be grambling over trying to figure out
how Houston got wide open.
Speaker 3 (01:45:58):
Well, first of all, quarterback that we lost contained on
the quarterback.
Speaker 5 (01:46:04):
That was the first thing that happened.
Speaker 6 (01:46:05):
Van.
Speaker 4 (01:46:06):
We're very fortunate on that play. Well, I could describe
it for those listening. Coach, he's almost Johnny Manziel like
he's gonna roll and scramble. He can run. He may
not be quite have the speed and agility that Manseill did,
but they call him mister football at Callaway.
Speaker 5 (01:46:24):
Don't give them this first down.
Speaker 4 (01:46:27):
It's gonna be a third and seventeen for Callaway. They'll
have it from their own forty seven, just across midfield
and open like a territory, moving from right to left.
They'll break the sideline. They had time to talk this
one over and after the Bulldogs left a guy wide
opening the secondary. See if they try to go back
to the air here take a deep shot. You'd imagine
(01:46:47):
so here on third and long, Bulldog crowd on their
feet here Cavaliers and they're on forty seven third and long.
Harrington rolls, tries to throw back again. He's got it
to my home and a bull to us have it read.
But he broke a tackle and he brought down at
the thirty five yard line, twelve yards short of the
first down. Josh Davis on the stop there. But it
(01:47:08):
will be fourth down, but it could be a fourth
down and go situation. Now for Callaway, it's gonna be
fourth and five. They're gonna get the offense on the field.
Speaker 3 (01:47:18):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (01:47:19):
So with the big pit up down to the third
five yarlt light twelve yard gain enough for coach Wiggins
to elect to go for it. But he's gonna think
it through first here time out on the field here
with three twenty five remaining here in this third quarter,
a one point game, seventeen to sixteen in Callaway, a
fourth down decision when we come back here on the kicker,
(01:47:48):
dog's trying to get a turnover on downs and the
defense is gonna have to come up with a fourth
down style offense staying on the field here for Callaway.
Here at the one point game, seventeen sixteen Cavs with
the lead three twenty five to go with the third quarter,
and it is a fourth down in five coming up
here for Callaway. They say fourth and six all the
scoreboard at the thirty five Opelaika Harrington with two white
(01:48:12):
outs left side. Harrington rolls to the left throws He's
got a man. It is called b he's short of
the first down. I believe they're saying he got enough,
no first down. He's got it down to the twenty
eighty yard line, and that's a seven yard pickup and
a first down as he hits the big man Caden
James on the Callaway sideline for the first down and
(01:48:32):
the clock starts back three eighteen three sixteen clock continues
to run as the Bulldogs try to get some new
troops out on the field. Senior and Blake Harrington's been
good tonight. Six foot one hundred and eighty five pound Senior,
he's been the difference responsible for one. Opalika scores two
(01:48:52):
on a pick six, but otherwise he's been just about perfect.
Here's a pitch play read goodbye Opalaikah, short pickup down
around the twentyenty six yard line. Lake Drick Burt's on
the stop there for the Bulldogs, and this will be
the pickup of one. It looks like down around the
twenty seven yard lines. It'll be second down and nine
(01:49:13):
or second and eight down to the twenty seven yard
line to twenty eight clock running here in the third quarter,
Harrington with one back in the backfield, two white outs
to the right side. Kristen Kennedy is the back. They'll
(01:49:34):
thinking to him. They throw out to the full back
Anderson turns out inside the twenty down to the nineteen
yard line, and that is eight yards and gonna be
close to another first down. Eliash Odin on the stop
and short of the first down at the nineteen it'll
be third down in one by fifty six. The continues
(01:49:55):
to run. Here's third seventeen sixteen, Callowe leading by one
and moving down the field. Here hearing it out of
the shotgun at the Bulldog nineteen a third and one
and a flag on the play. And this looked like
a procedure penalty against Oh, they're pointing towards Opalaika, and
(01:50:19):
they showed procedure penalty, but then he pointed at Opalaika.
I'm not sure. We'll let Matt get down there and
figure out what the call was there, but they're going
to penalize Opalaika. I'm not sure saying that they caused
the false start. That must be the penalty there, five
(01:50:41):
yard penalty back what they got is that what they
said they the Opelikah calls the false start. Well, it's
going to be inside the fifteen down to the fourteen
yard line. After that five yard step off, it'll be
first and ten. Calloway can get a first down. It
(01:51:02):
looks like inside around the three yard line. Harrington brings
a man in motion on first down. Harrington rolls to
his left, throws back, tries to get it and it
is almost picked off by Jacody Jackson of Opelika who
came and coverage here. He almost took it away from
the intended wide receiver or Callaway Jeremiah done, so it'll
(01:51:26):
be second down in ten. Good defensive play there by
Opelikah tried to get him on that misdirection. Clock stop
with one thirty three left here in the third quarter,
Callaway leading seventeen sixteen.
Speaker 5 (01:51:39):
Gotta make a play here, boys, and.
Speaker 4 (01:51:42):
A steady drizzle continues to fall here at Calloway Stadium
as well. There was no chance of reign today. Two
Harrington out of the shotgun gives to Kennedy and a
good tackle there by the Bulldogs. Nice job Josh Davis
on the stop wraps up Kennedy.
Speaker 5 (01:51:59):
Now we got third nine.
Speaker 4 (01:52:02):
And keep them out of the end zone here. One
twenty clock continuing to run here in the third quarter
and a one point game here with Callaway leading.
Speaker 5 (01:52:10):
Come on, Dogs, come on.
Speaker 4 (01:52:14):
Twenty four down of twenty three. Calloway taking their time
letting that play clock wind on down, Bulldog crowd on
their feet as you can hear Harrington drops back pressure
sacked luck Key drip and Burks get some down at
the twenty yard line. There's the linebacker flying back there
on the quarterback. It'll be fourth down and offense stay
(01:52:39):
and put. No, this is gonna be the offensive quarterback
to hold for the field goal kicker here, and they're
gonna attempt a field going. Jaden Bailey made a thirty
one yarder back in his first game. There'll be a
thirty eight yarder seven yards longer and this will be
from just inside the right hand. Big kick here to
(01:53:01):
put them up by four and a time out taken
by coach Pete Wiggins and he is frustrated. There was
not a late man coming on the field here, and
you can tell he just found out all about that coach.
That'll frustrate you, right, not having the right personnel out there.
Speaker 3 (01:53:22):
Yes, sir, that's a they get time out taking it
away from him.
Speaker 8 (01:53:27):
Now.
Speaker 4 (01:53:27):
Yeah, well let's send down Matt my Cricket with the
four seasons Federal Credit Union sideline report Mac. Big field
goal coming up here for callaway.
Speaker 9 (01:53:34):
Oh, absolutely absolutely big field goal. Hey, y'all are talking
of wondering on what that? What the what the penalty
call that we had there? YEA our d line was
can move and that threw a penalty for enticeing the
snap count. So there you have it straight right straight
from the sideline.
Speaker 5 (01:53:50):
So but hey, there we go.
Speaker 3 (01:53:52):
If we get a good push right here on the
right side.
Speaker 4 (01:53:53):
We blocked this thing, scoop score all right, Well thank
you Mac. Yeah, that's that's the right call. Then if
the defense was hollering a sick lout, that would be
the reason for that five yard penalty. Let's block this
kick and run it back here, that would be nice.
Jaden Bailey, this will be a thirty eight yard attempt
inside the right hash. There is a little bit of
(01:54:15):
moisture here as the rain continues to fall umbrellas around.
It's getting wet. So baby, that'll slip through Harrington the
holder's hands kind a good snaw. That's a low line
drive kick, but I think he got it through the upright.
So there's a flag down too, and Harrington is saying
this is on opelaika. I'm not sure if this was
(01:54:36):
rough in the kicker.
Speaker 5 (01:54:37):
He didn't.
Speaker 4 (01:54:39):
Go down, so I'm not sure what the flag would be.
Coach Moore shaking his head.
Speaker 5 (01:54:48):
He does not like the.
Speaker 4 (01:54:51):
The looking up flag on the field. What you don't
want is a fifteen yard penalty.
Speaker 5 (01:55:06):
Well, that's what we got. That would be a huge.
Speaker 4 (01:55:13):
That's gonna keep that's bringing there, bringing the offense back
down field.
Speaker 5 (01:55:17):
We need to see.
Speaker 4 (01:55:22):
Old wait and see if we can get some clarification.
Mac can figure out what this penalty is.
Speaker 5 (01:55:27):
That's roughing the kicker.
Speaker 4 (01:55:29):
Now the kicker wasn't down on the ground, so it
wasn't roughing the kicker. It's down to the ten yard line.
It's not going to be an automatic first down to
steal fourth down, but they're gonna put the offense back
out and they're going to go for it. So let's
make let's wipe the three points off and come up
with a fourth down. Stop here, No, let's say first down.
It's a for automatic first down? Whatever it was?
Speaker 5 (01:55:47):
What is the call?
Speaker 4 (01:55:49):
Now there's a stoppage in play. Old Wait, they're saying automatic,
they're saying first down. Boy, what a huge penalty. We'll
get back to get some clarification of what's going on
here in just a moment here when we get down there, Mac,
you know what the call is? Yeah, jumping over the center?
(01:56:11):
Oh the center? So now first and goal for callaway
play action. Harrington rolls right, throws it's caught inside the
five dies towards the end zone and touchdown. Boy, what
a series there, a personal foul on Opelaanka. It gives
the Cavs the first down and take the three off
(01:56:35):
and they get six and a point after coming. Boy,
what a huge turn there.
Speaker 3 (01:56:38):
That was.
Speaker 4 (01:56:42):
Hope alike, are gonna step my fence out. They're going
to try to go for two here.
Speaker 5 (01:56:48):
They drove over eight yards, so.
Speaker 4 (01:56:51):
Callaway try to make this two nation game here. They
can get the two points here and make it a
nine point game, and boy, that would be huge here
with seven seconds left in the third, the way this
game is gone, it almost feels like a thirty point lead.
(01:57:13):
Two wide to the less, single receiver to the right side,
hearing it in an empty backfield, Herrington gets the stamp,
rolls to the right, dumps it off. It is caught
and the two point conversion is good. It is a
nine point game. But there's a flag down on the play.
We'll wait and see what this flag is. Max saying
this is against They got a white hat, so there's
(01:57:40):
a flag and it looks like it's against Callaways.
Speaker 5 (01:57:42):
That's big.
Speaker 4 (01:57:42):
That'll take those two points off. Twenty three sixteen right now, callaway,
keeping the offense out and going for two, trying to
make this a nine point ball game. Here with seven
seconds left in the third tail back checks in the
game d J mahone two white outs to the right side.
(01:58:06):
Looks like in a single receiver to the left when
they line up here. Now they're putting the field goal
team back on here for the extra point. That'll make
it an eight point ball game. Hiff Jaden Bailey can
put it through the uprights here, so that was a
big penalty. Hopefully can keep it a one possession game
right now, seven point advantage and the extra point coming
(01:58:27):
here off the foot of cheating Bailey snap down and
this kick is wide to the left. He missed it.
That's huge. It's a seven point game. Big time stop
there by the Bulldog defense to keep it a one
possession game and a seven point game. Man at twenty
(01:58:49):
three sixteen, and we'll take a quick break. You're listening
to Bulldog football. You're on ninety sitting the point. You
seventy kick a FM callaway lady by seven here at
home twenty three sixteen. We only have three seconds left,
so after this kick we will be at the end
(01:59:10):
of the third quarter and we'll be at another time out. Hope,
like his offense, I hope to come out and get
a little bit sharper. It's been very very tough shortside
of the field and it goes out of bounds, so
no time. We'll go off the clock here. So hope, Michael,
we'll come out or run one offensive play and coach
(01:59:33):
Brian Moore says, hold on. They want him to rekick,
so Coch Moore is gonna have callaway rekick here. He
wants to try to get an opportunity.
Speaker 3 (01:59:41):
For a return.
Speaker 5 (01:59:41):
What are they kicking it again?
Speaker 4 (01:59:43):
They're gonna have them kick it again, yes, sir, right, and.
Speaker 5 (01:59:45):
Didn't want them to kick it again? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:59:48):
Did they pennal out them? Yeah, we're gonna move them
back five march again. They're gonna get them to move
back five and rekick here. They're gonna try to get
them to kick it straight to run it. Yeah, they're
going to try to set up a return. Jordan Waits
is short and so is Jacari Walton, and then back
deep you've got Andre Van and then you've got CJ. Johnson.
(02:00:14):
So here is the field or the kicker. Jayden Bailey
has it teed up at the thirty five yard line,
set to kick it away just three seconds remaining, and
that kick is in to over end. And here is
CJ inside the ten yard line trying to set up
her turn across the twenty twenty five. CJ cutting down
before he could get into the thirty yard line at
(02:00:36):
the twenty eight yard line, and that rekick does dined up.
Could help Bulldogs very much there, twenty sixteen. Well we
head to the fourth warter. Bulldogs will have the football
we come back. You're listening to Bulldog football here on
the kicker Bulldog football. As we get ready to start
(02:00:57):
at the fourth quarter here at Calloway Stadium, sixteen Dogs
trail by seven, and let's head down for a four
seasons Federal Credit Union sideline report make and cracking room
with the sideline. Mac, what you got for us?
Speaker 5 (02:01:15):
All right?
Speaker 4 (02:01:16):
Mac not able to hear us at a moment here.
All right, Mack you good, Macky got us?
Speaker 3 (02:01:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (02:01:24):
I was with Adjason okay, corresponding.
Speaker 5 (02:01:26):
All right, go ahead. What you got for is it
was starting the fourth quarter.
Speaker 4 (02:01:29):
One.
Speaker 9 (02:01:30):
I just said, hey, fourth quarter. You know everybody's coming
up and down the sideline saying this is it. It's
our time, so you hey, let's see what we do here.
Got a good old sustained drive, put it in here, and.
Speaker 4 (02:01:40):
Let's see if we can get sucker get going back
with the win.
Speaker 5 (02:01:42):
Boys.
Speaker 4 (02:01:44):
Yeah, I agree, Mac. It has been tough sledding on offense.
You'd love to see the offense, you know, get a
good drive going, get the run gag going. But it
has been tough against this callaway defense. And you got
to tip your cap to those guys because they have
been playing both ways, a lot of them, and they
have not missed a beat. They lead at twenty three sixteen.
As we get ready to start the fourth quarter, and
(02:02:04):
Opalaika will start with Jalen Nelson coming to the ball
game and getting a chance here at running back. He'll
be to the left of quarterback Kobe Key. Two white
outs to the left side, starting this drive here, full
dogs in there on twenty yard line to start the
fourth quarter. Key out of the shotgun hand off goes
to Jalen Nelson right sign Jalen a good run across
(02:02:26):
the thirty five Jalen nearly broke that one up to
the thirty seven yard line.
Speaker 5 (02:02:34):
Got a boy good blocking up front, so up.
Speaker 4 (02:02:41):
To the thirty seven yard line, they'll be second down
in one good run there by Jalen Nelson shot gun
from this twenty six yard line. From the thirty sixth
year line. Nelson again with a carry up to the
forty and that's a Lambert transfer in swords first and
four yard from Jalen and listen, two really good runs
there by Jalen new Wilson. Well, it's Jalab's first carries
(02:03:06):
of the season too. Eleven twenty one left in the
ball and Dogs down nice seven. I know, coach just
trying to go to the well here see if he
can find something. Who's got the hot hend and that
one scoops by Colby Key couldn't get the snap he
goes and it all the way back around the twenty
eight yard line. A big loss on the play for
(02:03:26):
the Bulldogs, and Jalen Nelson will be subbed out. C. J.
Johnson comes in and this is a loss all the
way back. They marked it at the twenty eight yard line,
so a huge loss there by Opelaika thirteen yard loss
on that play. Second down in a mile now for
(02:03:48):
the Bulldogs. After that loss, Colby drops back. It's got
tied steps up deep pass down Phil trying to get
it to andre Van, and he came down with him
and call it. That's a catch god drey Van comes
down with it at the thirty two yard line. What
a great snag by andre Van. I didn't think he
had a chance of coming down with that one. And
(02:04:09):
he gets it to the thirty two yard line for
a forty one yard catch.
Speaker 5 (02:04:14):
These catches I've ever seen.
Speaker 4 (02:04:15):
Boy, he laid out for that one down to the
thirty two yard line of Callaway first and ten. Bulldogs
go fast. Here's a handoff of the backfield.
Speaker 5 (02:04:23):
This is CJ.
Speaker 4 (02:04:24):
Johnson running right side. J stays on his feet and
they're gonna say he's down to the twenty six yard line.
That's a six yard pick up there by CJ. And
it will be second down in four Dogs trailed by
seven on the road here at Callaway twenty three sixteen.
But a good pass from Colby Keith and I think
it even better catch there by andre Van going out
(02:04:44):
for that one. White out either side here for the Bulldogs.
Colby hands into the backfield. That's CJ. He gets hemmed
up in the backfield. He gets back to the line
of scrimmage and that's it. It's gonna be third and four.
Just nowhere to go on that right side. Come on,
let's go, don't stall here ninety the clock running here
(02:05:05):
in the ball again, getting crunch. I'm here twenty three sixteen.
Gotta have a touchdown, yes, you do. Gotta tie this
game up here. Well, Calloway's fence has been going. They've
been hard to stop. Two whiteouts. Right Kobe in the
back with c J. Johnson. Now Jalen Washington goes in
motion from right to left hand off, goes to CJ.
He's hitting the backfield and know where to go. Lost
(02:05:26):
a yard back to the twenty six hit is fourth
down and the Bulldog's forced to go for it here.
Jalen Nelson comes in and we even see some substitutions
on that offensive side. Isaiah Howell checking in the ball
game and a time out on the field as their
offensive lineman is down, and boy, that is a a
(02:05:47):
big gun on that offensive line. Number seventy number seventy three,
seventy three Jeremy Dillard. Yes, so we got an injury
time out on the field, hopefully just a cramp, but
a fourth down around a fourth and five coming up
for the Bulldogs. We'll take a quick time you listen
to Bulldog football. Here on the kicker, Jeremy Dillar, the
(02:06:15):
injured and offensive lineman for the Bulldogs comes off the
field and you can tell he is in some pain.
They may got rolled up on and he is heading
to the training table. This is well, I tell you, coach,
two really physical games as we get ready to go
into region play next week against Auburn, and Auburn's having
a tough night on the road to Vest Davy tonight.
They're trailing thirty five to seven, and that game of
(02:06:36):
the second half yet Jason halftime halftime thirty five seven
fourteen fourteen least got a load tied up. All the
local games going on, and we're here in lagrange right now.
Dogs are trailing twenty three sixteen nine ozer eight left
in this ball game.
Speaker 3 (02:06:50):
That is it.
Speaker 4 (02:06:51):
Two whiteouts either side and Kobe Key having a go
forward on fourth down offense here at the twenty six
yard line of Callaway and Bulldogs talk of the defensive
lineman jump but no flag play c lockdown to thirteen,
down to twelve, crucial fourth down here for the Dogs
(02:07:13):
at the twenty sixth of Calaway. They bring the pressure
dumped off Jordan Waits, has it broke a tackle. Jordan's
stays on the s feet inside the fifteen. Jordan broke
it inside the ten five. Jordan Waits touchdown Bulldogs one.
I've played by Jordan Waits, the senior with some shifty
nifty moves for a touchdown a twenty six yard reception.
Cole dumped it off and Jordan's word.
Speaker 3 (02:07:34):
Oh boy, hey fan, big time players make big time
plays and big time game.
Speaker 4 (02:07:45):
Dogs trailed by one now twenty three, twenty two and
import an extra point coming up by Rehys Beasley. But
he'll have to wait as there's an injured player on
the field for callaway down at the twenty yard line,
right at the line of scrimmage. Only Jordan's third touch
of the night, and he made it pay. Coach McCracken,
(02:08:07):
like I said, man that wait, patient, wait patient.
Speaker 3 (02:08:10):
Big time players make big time plays and big time games.
Waits is a big time player. You know you said it, Afe,
you miss it. They don't have Blake Johnson and so
they they're looking through those running backs and hey, Jordan
Waits made and made a bunch of big plays last.
Speaker 5 (02:08:26):
Year on that was huge.
Speaker 4 (02:08:28):
I know Daddy Chris and his family are excited about
that one big extra point coming up and we come back.
You're listening to Bulldog football here on the kicker Day
Anderson is the injured callaway player, one of the really
good players. He plays full back and plays defense. He's
been on the field a long long time tonight and
(02:08:50):
he was very slow to get up and having to
be helped off the field. This is the time of
the game here where you can really make that depth pay.
But coach, you got to get an extra point up
here and tie this game up for a wit. Cooper
will hold, Cam Railey's your snapper, and Reese Beasley come on, bees,
We'll try to put up the extra point and tie
(02:09:11):
this game up here with eight fifty nine a remaining snap,
good hold down and the kick is up and the
kick is good. We are tied up at twenty three
with eight fifty nine remaining here at the ball game,
and the Dogs are back in this one twenty three,
twenty three time out on the field. We'll be back
after this. You're listening to the Bulldog football here on
(02:09:32):
Dicker neither proofing spot for date night, a catch up
with friends, or an elevated night out on the town.
Bulldogs tie it up twenty three apiece here with eight
fifty nine to play in the game. Now the defense
has to come out and keep this blake herring to
let offense off the scoreboard. Reese Beasley, who just put
(02:09:54):
up a crucial extra point, has the ball teaed up
and gets ready to kick it back off to the
Cavaliers and time of the game coach with a crack
and the depth needs to come through here in the
fresh team, the team with all the bodies needs to
win this fourth quarter.
Speaker 5 (02:10:07):
Last five minutes of the game. Headed to it.
Speaker 4 (02:10:12):
All right, So here is Reece Beasley, has it teed up.
It's ready to put a toe to leather here at
the forty. Get got a boy, great kidt a boy
end over end five yards deep into the end zone.
No chance for return. That is a touch back every
time tonight for Reece Beasley, eight fifty nine to play
in our ballgame. Callaway will start their drive from there
(02:10:32):
on twenty yard line.
Speaker 3 (02:10:34):
A van in the third quarter, they did this and
they win eighty yards with the ball.
Speaker 5 (02:10:39):
But we got a eight. We got to make some
stops here.
Speaker 4 (02:10:42):
Now let their back hurs absolutely. Well, this is where
the pressure has got to come through. And the fresh
team against this winded offensive line, you hope they can
get through there.
Speaker 3 (02:10:52):
And well, you know you were saying on the way
over here, these guys playing both ways.
Speaker 4 (02:10:57):
Yeah, so here's where it will happen. If it's gonna
have fifty four fitting and Garrett and also Hughton the
tight end will play both ways. Harrington's been fresh though,
and he's been good. Harrington the quarterback out of the
shotgun first and ten trips receivers to the right, drops back.
He's got all day floats one deep down field and
(02:11:17):
it is hauled in and caught it the forty five
yard line, just somebody wide opening the secondary and the
quarterback had all day down to the forty six yard
line and that was a huge kitch for thirty six
yards and a first down. And that's been the story
tonined Harrington in this offense. They've been able to find
the guy downfield wide.
Speaker 5 (02:11:39):
Open, big play.
Speaker 4 (02:11:41):
Yeah, hey goodness at the forty six. Now Vopolaika first
and ten, eight thirty eight to go in the game,
we're tied to twenty three. Harrington out of the shotgun.
He's got trips to the right side, tail back to
the left. Harrington drops back, throws in the flats and
what ain't getting there by the Bulldogs. That will say,
huge hit by Braiden Howard. He came up and laid
(02:12:03):
out the wide receiver number two Jeremiah done as soon
as he caught it. It's incomplete. They rule it was
almost backwards passing a fumble second down in ten. What
a play there by the Dogs. Braiden Howard ready for
that one. Eight twenty six left in the game. Clock
stopped after that big hit by Howard. J loan back
(02:12:27):
to the left of Harrington. Two whiteouts right white side
of the field, the right side, short side, left side.
Harrington gets the snap, hands in to mahone. He's wrapped
up in the fifty yard line. Big stop by Terres Thomas,
and that's a big loss. Back to the fifty yard line.
That'll be a six yard loss. It's third down and long.
(02:12:48):
And now Caden Harris tries to come off the field
and he's injured and he will go down to the
ground and training staff gonna have to come over there
and tend to him. I think that may just be
a cramp and as he reaches back, so this will
be a third and long coming up here for Callaway.
With eight to twelve left, ending the ball game.
Speaker 5 (02:13:09):
Somebody get out there.
Speaker 4 (02:13:11):
Yeah, they got the training staff coming, and they just
got to stretch him out. The problem was, coach, most
of the training staff's over there working on the other
injured offensive lineman right now. Yeah, it's kind of a
wounded battlefield right now. But a time out on the field,
let's head down. When we got a moment for a
four seasons Federal Credit Union sideline report, Mac, what a
great couple of plays by the defense.
Speaker 9 (02:13:32):
Yeah, that's what a step up right there after you know,
they gave up the big play and they just came
back with two big plays defensively. But here's the one
you circle on your chart right there, Pop, there's a
big third down, man, big big third down right here.
Speaker 3 (02:13:47):
Get them to rush that quarterback, pavee. Here we go,
pressurering right at midfield. Now after that loss is six
on that great play by Terres Thomas. So now at
the fifty yard line, coaching staff from Opalaika telling the
crowd here to get on their feet and they respond.
Come on third down and fourteen for Callaway from midfield
(02:14:09):
harrytonifty's the backfield, Harrydon hoops back throws and in the
flat set in.
Speaker 4 (02:14:13):
The fifty tackle down. I lost the one great play
there by the defense. That was Jamel Griffin coming up
to making the stop. And it's fourth down and alignment down.
Now for Callaway, I think he may have cramps. And
as a center, Ean hen and Calloway is gonna have
to send the punting team out and there's gonna be
another injury time out here on the field. I believe Wait, player,
(02:14:37):
don't believe Ethan is okay? Okay, he is down on
the field or everybody.
Speaker 5 (02:14:43):
Everybody's cramping, aren't they.
Speaker 4 (02:14:44):
Yeah, it's week one, coach, Really last week was week zero,
so you know in the first week we always have
these cramps. We can still say week one, yep. But
a time out on the field here as hand gets
tended to, and we'll take a quick break here listening
to bulldog football here on the kicker, Callaway forced to
(02:15:05):
punt it away here with seven forty five remaining here.
After that injury time out, they'll punt it from their
on forty nine line as Terris gets the snap and
it puts a high boot into this one. Bulldogs come
up make a catch at the fourteen. Here's a good
return by andre Van across the twenty Andrea up close
to the twenty three yard line. So a good return
there by then, and he's got the Bulldog offense set
(02:15:27):
up around the twenty three yard line. Mark it down.
It looks like at the twenty four. So good return
there by andre Van.
Speaker 3 (02:15:41):
Here we go Van, last five minutes of the game. Well,
this is where twenty eight laughing, This is where your
seven eight programs to come in and lean on this defense.
It's been out here on the field a lot and
go down and put a championship drive together.
Speaker 6 (02:15:57):
C J.
Speaker 4 (02:15:58):
Johnson will have a tailback now for Cold'll be key
and wide out either side Bulldogs from there on a
twenty four yard line the line of scrimmage, play action.
Colby throws at the twenty nine. It's caught. Andre Van's
got it. Turns up field at the thirty yard line.
He's got six yards. Good throwing catch there, and that
will keep the clock running down to seven seventeen. It'll
(02:16:18):
set up a second down and four. We are tied
up now at twenty three here with seven o nine
to go in the ball game. Here at Callaway, Bulldogs
will have two wide receivers van in Washington lined up
wide to the left side. Key out of the shotgun.
Now they'll bring Washington in motion and a flag comes
(02:16:39):
in and that's going to be I believe a motion
penalty against Opelikas coach Pete Wiggins puts his hands together
and that will set now a skin down.
Speaker 6 (02:16:50):
There.
Speaker 4 (02:16:52):
I believe it was just the it was thrown on
the motion. So second down and eight now rather than
second down and four. Gosh, all right, that's second down
and looks like second and eight. Two white outs either
(02:17:14):
side now for Colby Key after that penalty, buying the
scrimmage of twenty six yard line. Key again play acts
that one was almost to pick six. He was looking
across the field there for Keeling Banks, and Banks was
not turning around and looking for the football, and that
was almost to pick six. Bulldogs caught a break there,
(02:17:36):
but the clock has stopped and Banks didn't turn around.
The cornerback almost broke on that one and took it
to the house. Bulldogs light up now here. On third
and eight with trips receivers of the right side and
a wide out to the left side, colbe checking the sidelines,
trying to get his play from takeing in down to eight,
(02:17:57):
down to seven on the play clock. Third down, Colby
rolls here near side, try to look downfield and now
Kolby will try to tuck it, run it tight ropes,
the sideline stays in bounds and Colby has got a
first down. Colby up to the forty three yard line
and that's good for seventeen yards and a Lambert transfer
(02:18:18):
in storage first down.
Speaker 3 (02:18:19):
There's your first big play of this drive.
Speaker 4 (02:18:22):
Yeah, Colby noted on for a runner doesn't like to
do it, doesn't do it a lot, but he needed
to do it there. He didn't have anybody open downfield.
Good first down and he gets up to the forty
four yard line. This will be first and ten Bulldogs
with a Lambert transfer in storage first down. Come on
first and ten, hand off here near side.
Speaker 6 (02:18:38):
C J.
Speaker 4 (02:18:38):
Johnson breaks the tackle. CJ at the fifty stays on
his feet. CJ's got the first down as he carries
it down to the callaway forty five yard line for
eleven yards and a Lambert transfer in storage first down.
Speaker 3 (02:18:48):
Get into that five minute mark, Ben as you go.
Speaker 4 (02:18:52):
Six, Now check into the ballgame. Jordan Waits given cj
a breather here at the callaway forty five on these
guys six eighteen to go tight. At twenty three, Colby
out of the shotgun, gets the snap, hands the ball
off here near side Jordan Waits. Jordan's fresh, Jordan's inside
the forty. Jordan's down close to the thirty five. They'll
(02:19:12):
mark him down at the thirty seven yard line. He'll
be short of the first down. Well, that play will
be good for eight yards. It will be second down
and two coming up here for Oplaika at the callaway
thirty seven and Coach Moore wants to speed things up
and go quick here. Jordan wait stays in the ballgame
at the tail back behind Colby here on second down
and two spins hands gives to Jordan Waits. Jordan's got
(02:19:36):
the first down at the thirty five yard line and
lunges ahead down close to the thirty four. They'll mark him.
It looks like at the thirty five he just needed
too and that's enough for a Lambert transfer in storage
first down. This callaway guy is on defensive tired.
Speaker 5 (02:19:48):
I see it goes holding the hips.
Speaker 4 (02:19:50):
Baby, they are slowed again up five thirty seven left
in the ball game. Tight, it's twenty three, and here
is c J. Johnson the tail back now who gives
Jordan a break and a handoff goes to CJ left side.
CJ down to the thirty yard line as a five
yard run. There By c J. Johnson got a boy. Yep,
(02:20:13):
than Oiola chicks in the ballgame now, giving Colt Dixon
a breather. Five fourteen van Bulldogs continue to throw the
bullets in fresh running back, come on, fresh running.
Speaker 5 (02:20:23):
Back, offensive blindman date tired. They love this.
Speaker 4 (02:20:26):
Five oh four to go in the ball game, tied
at twenty three Dogs, Oh no running clock and we
got a flag down on the field and they're gonna
say a procedure penalty against opelaika on boy.
Speaker 5 (02:20:40):
I didn't.
Speaker 4 (02:20:43):
Almost like nobody was set. I don't know how, but
it was back to the thirty six. Now if in
your pocket, four point fifty eight left here in the ballgame,
tied at twenty three, it'll be second down and right
at eleven now for like after that penalty wide out
either side. Kolbe changing his play at the line of scrimmage,
(02:21:05):
tied at twenty three. CJ Johnson the tailbag. CJ gets
the handoff, trying to get behind his blockers, breaks the
tackle of the thirty five CJ inside the thirty yard line.
I think they're gonna call him out right at the
thirty one yard line. That'll be close to five maybe
six yards and little pushing and shoving after the play,
(02:21:29):
offensive lineman having to get held back. Julian Pritchett was
really frustrated. I believe we got time out called, so
a timeout taking here on the field as offense. We
actually got an injured player on the field, a callaoy
(02:21:49):
player is down on the field for twenty one left
in the ball game. We're tied at twenty three. Had
a big third down coming up for the Bulldogs when
we come back. It looks like around a third and
six for Opelaiko. We play continues after this here on
the kick third down coming up here for Opalaika. They're
(02:22:13):
at the callaway thirty one yard line. This will be
a third and six coming up here for opela Like
out of the time out here, we're tied at twenty three,
just four to twenty one left in the game. Dogs
trying to put together a big drive. They've ran a
lot of clock off on this drive and get it
down and gets points here. Ope like as Jordan Waits
back in the ball game. Two receivers to the right side.
(02:22:35):
Now Jalen Washington goes in motion from right to left.
Handoff goes to Waits. Waits has the first down at
the twenty five. Inside the twenty Waits stip arms of
man and pushed out of mounds inside the fifteen yard line.
They'll market him down at the fourteen yard line of
fifteen yard run by Jordan Waits and a Lambert transferring
storage first down or too fast now the four ten
(02:22:57):
and the clock has stopped as they move the chains
before eleven remaining.
Speaker 3 (02:23:01):
I'm just kidding, coach, you'll take a score now fast?
Speaker 5 (02:23:05):
You know anybody heard me say that? Just forget it.
Speaker 4 (02:23:08):
Yeah, don't worry. The games are archive for many years
to come. They'll always know you said it. First and
ten at the fifteen yard line, the sixteen yard line,
hand off it in Jordan Waite, Jordan inside the ten,
Jordan holding onto that football he's hitting down at the
sixteen yard line or down at the six yard line,
I should say, and that was a ten yard run
(02:23:32):
and everybody was an eight yard pickup.
Speaker 5 (02:23:34):
I should say, good time. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:23:37):
At that clock run down under three forty nine. Now
the clock continuing to run ted at twenty three here
at Calloway Citium in Love Range at the six yard line.
You can get a first down here with right at
three yards. Second down in three coming up for the
Bulldogs at the Callaway six yard line. Calloway's tired to
(02:24:00):
out to the right side. Jordan Waite stays in there.
He's been the hot hand on this drive. Handoff goes
to Jordan Head at the five. Jordan down close to
the one, and Jordan at the two. I think they're
gonna call him down at the two. One has him
at the two. One has him at the one, but
the clock will stop as the first down, so it'll
be first and goal at the one at the clock
(02:24:22):
run and now Wine's under three thirteen to go, continue
into Wine here, tied at twenty three. Dogs at the
two yard line of Callaway. We're tied at twenty three.
Been a hard fought game here, Bulldogs have found themselves
trailing this game most of it. Let's go come on
(02:24:42):
down to twoty five play clock down to eight, down
to seven. Right at that two yard line, down to three,
Kobe gets the snap and went over his head. Koby's
got to get on it. It popped away and there's
a scramble. Ford In Callaway comes up with it at
the forty two yard line. Oh my goodness, snap gets
(02:25:16):
away and it goes all the way to the forty
five yard line. That was not a hustle played by
a Plaika there. Opelikah could have gotten that football back
and now they just went to nine line about trying
to get it. That was the key to get the
football back. Now Opelika doesn't have the football. Callaways got
(02:25:39):
it from there on forty three. You can't let disaster
turn to extra disastrous. But that that play a horrible
turn right there. Two thirty nine left in the defense
has to come out on the field. Now, Opalaikah has
got to come up with a stop and Harrington and
(02:26:01):
the offense comes out and you got to feel and
they're gonna take a shot here. That'll flag down on
the play and Opelika pointing towards Calloway. Gonna be a
five yard penalty against the Calves, and we'll back them
inside the forty back of the thirty eight yard line.
(02:26:25):
The first and fifteen for callaway. Here just two thirty
eight left in the game. Callaway are the huge turnovers.
Opelikah fumbles the snap at the two yard line. It
scoots all the way across the forty. Now Harrington drops back,
throws and it's incomplete, and this will be second down
and fifteen with two thirty five left. Boy, you miss
(02:26:49):
Blake Johnson in these situations. Blake has not played night
as he's uh banged up from last week. But that
was hammertime down at the goal there and normally opal
like is under center. But defense got to play. Now,
second down and fifteen, callaway from their own thirty eight
yard line. Harrington play action, rolls to his right, takes
(02:27:12):
a hit, heaves one downfield, got a man wide open.
He's out of bounds though, and they say in Kenoe
say he caught it at the thirty yard line. Boy
a look like he was out of bounds. Both officials
come together and you know they're gonna give it to
him on the Callaway sidelines first down at the thirty
one yard line. It's just two twenty seven left and
(02:27:37):
a huge pass play down field as Jeremiah done all
the way down to the thirty one yard line of
Opal like a first of the tick Hallaway, two wide
outs left, single receiver of the right side, Harrington out
of the shotgun empties the backfield. Now Harrington pump fakes
(02:27:58):
runs to his rights, got a seamen the twenty five
inside the twenty at the ten, stays on his feet
inside the five, and Harrington walks it into the end
zone for a Callaway touchdown with two eighteen left. Callaway
leading at twenty nine to twenty three and an extra
point opportunity coming here for the Calves with two to
eighteen left and Opelika has three timeouts left. But oh
(02:28:22):
how quickly a game can change. Opalaikah was at the
goal line right at the two with a situation to
go in and take the touchdown lead, where they fumbled.
Snap leads to Callaway with the football back and the
Calves take advantage, so they put six on the board
and with two eighteen to go, here's Jaden Bailey for
(02:28:43):
the extra point snap down and the kick is up
and the kick off the upright six point ball game.
That could be huge, a six point game. Now twenty
nine to twenty three, with two eighteen to play, he
will take a quick time out. You listen to bulldog football.
You're on the kicker to eighteen to play now callaway
(02:29:13):
leads by six, boy, reminiscent of the last time here.
Ope like a one at by one? Could the Dogs
do it again? But coach, you got to put that
last drive behind you. On offense here, you've got to eighteen.
You're a sale football team. You still got the tired
defense coming out there. You're one big play away from
having a chance to take a one point lead here
in this game.
Speaker 5 (02:29:33):
We got three timeouts too, You got all our time out.
Speaker 4 (02:29:41):
So Jaden Bailey will kick it off. He's tried to
kick it away for the returnment every time. The last
two kicks they've had procedure penalties and had to rekick.
This time, he'll kick it straight down. Feel that's a
good one. It is called of the five yard line.
CJ will have a chance here twenty five thirty CJ
sidelines dragging the pile up close to the forty five
(02:30:02):
yard line. CJ. Carries it all the way to the
forty three yard line, So a good return there by CJ.
Johnson and good field position here for Opelaika. They'll start
from their own forty three yard line. Opelca trails by six,
though with two ten go here in the a game
at Calway Stadium, twenty nine to twenty three, our score,
(02:30:23):
Bulldogs have it from their own forty four yard line
is where they'll say, well, Bulldog's time to make a
play here. Jordan Wait's a tailback. We talked about the
tired defense, Well they've got everybody creaked in tight here too.
They're not expecting a deep ball. Jordan Waits gets the
hand off and Jordan carries it up to the fifty
yard line. That'll be a six yard pickup. Faun continues
(02:30:46):
to wind down. Now under two minutes to go. Bulldog
crowd on their feet, two white outs to the right side.
Jordan Waits remains the tailback. Hand off goes to Jordan
and he was cut down as he leaped across the
forty nine yard line, and the clock continues to run
one forty three. It'll set up a third down and
(02:31:06):
three here for the Bulldogs. Dogs taking their time one
thirty seven left in the game, Opalaika steal with all
three timeouts, snap goes to Jordan, Jordan left eye to play,
comes in right at the first down marker. And if
this is a hole, this is going to be a
devastating hole. And it looks like early indication it is
(02:31:29):
a hole against Opelaika. So that's going to be a
ten yard penalty, and we'll back the Bulldogs up, replay
third down. Just one twenty seven left now in the ballgame,
and may have to go to the air here to
pick this one up. Now call a penalty, you call
holding every down if you.
Speaker 5 (02:31:47):
Want it.
Speaker 4 (02:31:52):
Back to the forty one yard line now after that
ten yard penalty, and this is a third and twelve
for Opal like a four down territory here for sure
in a six point game one twenty the clock continues
to run. Colby got to make a play here, drops back,
dumps it off short. Here's Andre Van at the forty five.
Andre's hit down at around the forty seven yard line
(02:32:14):
is gonna set up a fourth in game. Coach Moore
comes in and calls time out here as this will
be a fourth of seven with the ballgame on the
line here for Opelika. Boy right here, you gotta go,
gotta go to your best play seven yards.
Speaker 5 (02:32:36):
Hey, I gotta get a first down.
Speaker 4 (02:32:37):
I mean, this is the game here, Yeah, just one
o nine to go, and you gotta go find your
best play in the playbook here and try to pick
up this first down. And mac McCracken in the huddle
here and give us a little insight into what's being
talked about after this time out. Reminder coming up next
week Thursday night again, Opelika will be hosting Auburn the
one hundred meeting of the Auburn and Opelika rivalry game
(02:33:00):
inside Bulldog Stadium. So make sure and get your tickets
early next week. Regardless of what happens tonight, that will
be an electric atmosphere. I gotta pick up this seven
yards here and get the first down. They'll need to
get to the callaway forty six yard line for the
(02:33:20):
first down line of scrimmage, Bulldogs from their own forty
seven yard line. Kobe with two whiteouts on either side,
Kobe drops back, pressure, steps up in the pocket, kind
of have to run for the first down. He's got
it if he runs and he's out of bounds at
the forty one. That should be a late hint. They
hit him out of bounds, and they're not gonna throw
(02:33:41):
a flag. Oh my goodness, he hit him out of bounds.
And Coach Moore letting him hear about it. The clock's
done with one minute. They've got to they gotta keep
going here, and they open like a crowd, letting him
hear about it. Down to the forty two yard line.
Bulldogs do pick up the first down. That the forty
(02:34:03):
one yard line is the line of scribage.
Speaker 3 (02:34:05):
Let's go.
Speaker 4 (02:34:07):
Two wide outs either side, and Kobe had a shot gun,
two timeouts left. Jordan waits a tail back to the left.
Kobe drops back, steps up in the pocket, takes off
the run, and now we'll get hit from behind at
the forty yard line. Coach More gonna have to burn
a time out. You'll have one timeout remaining, and the
clock will stop with fifty seconds left here in the ballgame.
(02:34:34):
Coach Moore coming over talking to his quarterback. You can
tell that Coach Moore signaling there, letting him know what
he expects here with this game on the line. So
a timeout on the field is a second down and ten.
(02:34:55):
It will be second down and right at nine, I
think are close to close to ten, but there is
an injured player down on the field as well, so
we will take a quick time out and we'll come back.
Fifty seconds left, twenty nine twenty three. You're listening to
Bulldog football here on the kicker. Just fifty seconds left
(02:35:19):
twenty nine twenty three. A six point lead for Callaway
and Opelaika has a second down and nine. Kobe drops
back trying to set a screen. He's got Jordan Waits,
Jordan at the thirty five. Jordan's slets a tackle inside
the thirty Jordan inside the twenty five yard line, and
Jordan close to the twenty one yard line. That was
a great pick up there by Jordan Waits. Thirty eight
(02:35:41):
seconds left. Fuller Young was in there quarterback there as
Kobe was getting tended to, so a great pass there
by Fuller Young. Come on, guys, show Now Kobe comes
back in. We're under thirty seconds and the sense urgency
has to pick up here for the Bulldogs. Five white,
three to the right, two to the left. Toby gets
(02:36:02):
a snap, drops back, steps up in the pocket. Kobe
rolls here to the right throws.
Speaker 11 (02:36:07):
He's got Washington touchdown on off Jayleen Washington all alone
touchdown blogs Jay Wash TD baby that a board, Jayalen
wide open and Kobe finally found him with the help
of the sidelines.
Speaker 4 (02:36:23):
And there is a flag thrown on the play. And
if that's a fifteen yard penley, that's gonna be on
the extra point. The Dogs are down by are tied
it up here, Well, that could be the winning play
here the extra point as we're tied at twenty nine. Boy,
you you gotta be smart too. I know you're celebrating.
(02:36:45):
Let's see what the white hat says. Maybe this is
off setting.
Speaker 3 (02:36:52):
Over yet.
Speaker 6 (02:36:56):
He gets.
Speaker 4 (02:36:58):
The bullgar Well, and coach, you can't do that. I mean,
I know at the end of the game like this,
I mean you saw the the team celebrating and jarring,
and you just can't put yourself in that situation. So
tie them out on the field. The Bulldogs will have
an extra point coming up here, twenty nine, twenty nine,
(02:37:19):
with fifteen seconds left. It'll be a long extra point. Certainly,
Reese pi'sa has got plenty of leg here to put
the extra point up, but it's gonna be from the
what is it the eighteen yard line, right at the
eighteen yard line, So this is gonna be thirty five
yarder right in the middle of the field. Yeah, right
in the middle of the field. Thirty five yards.
Speaker 5 (02:37:37):
You gonna make it?
Speaker 4 (02:37:38):
Yeah, you know. And I think Reese likes it in
this in this territory, He's gonna make it.
Speaker 3 (02:37:43):
Man.
Speaker 4 (02:37:43):
I'm not saying get the fifteen our penalty on purpose,
but maybe it's just what the doctor order here twenty nine.
Speaker 3 (02:37:50):
Hey, I remember when Matthew Motley lined up on a
field goal just like this and he said, coach, I'll
make it, disliking.
Speaker 4 (02:37:58):
The goosers ira the crowd up on their feet. Here
we're tied at twenty nine. The extra point could be
the game winner here for the Bulldogs. Just fifteen seconds
left here in this ballgame. Come on, Blake and it'll
be a thirty five yard extra point after that fifteen
yard penalty on the Bulldogs, who for the hold? Cam
ray Lea the snapper, good snap down and the kick
(02:38:20):
is up and it is no good wide to the left,
wide to the left, and we're tied at twenty nine.
Fifteen seconds left, and look like pushed it to the left,
(02:38:47):
So fifteen seconds left. Now the Bulldogs will have to
kick it off here and look for possible overtime here
in Callaway. So that was a tough one. They're certain
had all the leg but looked like he just pushed
(02:39:07):
it wide to the left. Mack, you had a pretty
good advantage point on that one that it looked like
it was just to the left or to the right. Yeah,
I just missed it, just left tied barely. Yeah, fifteen
seconds left, twenty nine, twenty nine extra point, no good.
Here's Rehees Beasley tritting out and the kicking team on
(02:39:33):
the field here and Boyd another tight one here at
Callaway twenty nine to twenty nine. Hope Pulika had a
chance to go in and score a touchdown, and you
feel like maybe put the game away. Had a bad
snap led the Callaway score, taking the lead, but the
Bulldogs were able to rally downfield it Jayalen watching didn't
on a big score, but two missed extra points and
(02:39:57):
both teams keep it at twenty nine here one off
the upright and one wide to the left, one by
Callowey and one by Opalaika, and that kick gets end
over end sells into the end zone and it is
a touchback. So Callowey will have fifteen seconds left. And
I tell you one thing, Harrington is a wizard back here.
You know they're going to try to take a shot
(02:40:17):
here with fifteen seconds left. I would imagine, Coach, we.
Speaker 5 (02:40:24):
Need to pressure that quarterback.
Speaker 3 (02:40:26):
We need to rush at least four guys, maybe five,
and don't let anything behind you.
Speaker 5 (02:40:36):
Bill goal wins the game.
Speaker 4 (02:40:38):
Yeah, phill goal wins it. Fifteen seconds away from trying
to get this thing to overtime. Now we could get
a pick. That would be nice. We could get well,
that would be really nice, Coach, it looks now one
of those up for us. I think they're going victory
formation here though.
Speaker 3 (02:40:52):
I think they're going to just right to run the ball.
Speaker 4 (02:40:55):
Yeah, quarterback Harrington takes it, drops down to a knee,
and he will be content with making this one to overtime. Boy,
it would be just like a Calawayopla, like a game
to be a tight one. Aside from last year, they've
all been way lays of ball games. We got one
here tied at twenty nine. We're heading overtime. We'll be
right back here listening to Bulldog football here on the kicker.
(02:41:26):
We getting ready for overtime, Matt my crack and we'll
head outo midfield. We'll get another coin toss here and
we'll figure out just how overtime wants to go here.
Both head coaches come to midfield, Mac and see if
you can find out what they're what the discussion is
there between the two head coaches. I don't know if
they're discussing overtime or not. If I won't wait and
(02:41:47):
see Mac an interesting conversation here, I don't know what.
Speaker 5 (02:41:53):
I've never seen the coaches come.
Speaker 4 (02:41:55):
Together, neither Van I was looking for the coin toss
myself or they wanting to call it a draw.
Speaker 5 (02:42:02):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (02:42:02):
Yeah, this is interesting, Yeah, coach, what do you think
these things?
Speaker 6 (02:42:05):
Just? This is just a.
Speaker 5 (02:42:07):
I have no idea. I'm still upset about that.
Speaker 4 (02:42:10):
Fiddlety Well, we'll wait and see what exactly goes down here.
Coach Pete Wiggins and coach Brian Moore, they're at midfield.
Normally they don't do the coin toss, but that may
be what they're doing here.
Speaker 3 (02:42:25):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (02:42:29):
Spirit of the South Marching Man continues to perform here.
They're counting down a minute. Forty nine. Here on the clock,
Lord tat twenty nine, Cali missing an extra point making
it a six point ball game. Bulldogs go down and
score with fifteen seconds left, and an extra point missed
by the Bulldogs has kept this a twenty nine, twenty
(02:42:52):
nine ball game. They did the coin toss. I've never
seen that. Both coaches come out on the field. Did
you see who won?
Speaker 5 (02:42:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (02:42:57):
Wiggins?
Speaker 4 (02:42:58):
Yeah that way, and I did coach.
Speaker 9 (02:43:03):
Looks like coach war deferred down here towards I don't
know what ends on that is away from the jumbo tron.
Speaker 4 (02:43:08):
All right, so we're on defense first? No, no, well,
hold on second offense. Okay, so we're offense first, all right,
So let's go down here and score and set the
tempo of the game here. I kind of like it, Coach,
because you get the entire defense back out of the
field here. Maybe that's a good good start here for
(02:43:30):
US coaches getting fired up, trying to let the offense
know they're got to get ready to get out on
the field. There comes heyll Looten. Likely they're gonna start
at the fifteen yard line. You know, normally in Alabama
you start at the ten.
Speaker 3 (02:43:50):
Hey, you know who's in the game, don't you. The
hammer is he yep.
Speaker 5 (02:43:55):
I just saw him going to huddle.
Speaker 4 (02:43:57):
He may be, may just be listening in I don't know, Maca.
They started at the fifteen here in Georgia.
Speaker 5 (02:44:02):
I guess yeah.
Speaker 9 (02:44:03):
I was just about to ask the official right here
and give you a little shout out and tell him Alabama.
Speaker 4 (02:44:07):
Was at the ten. Okay, I'll find out for us.
Speaker 5 (02:44:09):
Heah, No, he's not in there. He just down there listening.
Speaker 4 (02:44:12):
CJ. Johnson will be the tailback coming in the ball
game here for Opelaika. The starting field position will be
the fifteen yard line. That must be the way they
do it in Georgia. I do believe, unless there's been
a rule change. It was the ten yard line in Alabama.
But first down and ten at the fifteen yard line,
(02:44:34):
white hat blows play ready. We got I formation here
for the Bulldogs and it will be a quick inside
hand off to Jordan Waits and a tough sled in
there inside.
Speaker 5 (02:44:45):
The thirteen down to the got to the twelve, didn't he? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (02:44:50):
Down to the twelve. Looks like they gave him three
yards down to the seventeen yard line. Kolby you've out
of the shot gun here on second down. We're in overtime,
tied at twenty nine. Here at Callaway Bulldogs with the
first play from scrimmage. They hit Jalen Jalen inside the
(02:45:10):
ten and Jalen down to the five yard line. That
should be enough for a first down right at the sticks.
Max got it down there for the first down. Lambert
transferring storage first down, first and goal at the five
yard line. This is the first possession in overtime. Bulldogs
trying to set the tone here and get a touchdown.
(02:45:35):
Jordan Waits in the backfield. Waits gets the hand off.
He was hit right when he got the ball. He
was able to get inside the five and walk him
down at the five, right at the line of scrimmage.
So again to the second and goal from the five.
We're in overtime, no game clock now. This is the
first possession in overtime. We're tied at twenty nine.
Speaker 6 (02:45:57):
C J.
Speaker 4 (02:45:57):
Johnson checks in the ball game, giving Jordan Waits a break.
But actually Jordan Waits goes to play the wing back
position here and the full back for Polaika is in
the ball game. CJ gets the ball inside the five,
CJ going towards the end. Z on CJ pushing the
pile and he is down towards the one. No signal. Yeah,
(02:46:18):
they're gonna mark him down at the one. It will
be third down in goal at the one yard line
for CJ. Johnson. And now we see Ethan Oiola checking
the ball game along with the Cary Walton third down
and goal at the one, and now the coach. This
would normally be the hammer time territory, but it's gonna
(02:46:39):
be the c J. Johnson and Jordan Wait's show. Jordan
Waits will be the full back.
Speaker 6 (02:46:45):
C J.
Speaker 4 (02:46:46):
Johnson the running back. Here in overtime, Dogs trying to
get the lead. Here in the first overtime possession. Here,
quick hand off that Jordan Waits. Jordan's a nice job
bouncing it outside and he walks it in touchdown. Bulldogs
Dogs trit first in overtime and they take a thirty
five twenty nine lead. There comes Reese Beasley for the
(02:47:12):
extra point. See if reeskin shake it off here, not
one through the uprights here, very important extra point. Ree
steps it off, gets ready for the snamp here. Thirty
five twenty nine to six point game. Here's the extra point.
(02:47:33):
Good snap kick up and that is good seven point
lead for the Bulldogs. The defense needs a stop and
they win it here in callaway in overtime. Oh my goodness,
Coach McCracken. Wasn't easy, was it for them?
Speaker 6 (02:47:51):
All?
Speaker 4 (02:47:51):
We got to lead, gotta get our stops right here
and now, yeah, we'll ry back after this thirty second
time out here on the kicker Calloway comes out now
for their first possession in overtime. They're trailing by three.
Harrington takes a fade shot towards the end on and
it is called for a touchdown. One to play touchdown
(02:48:12):
as he hooked up with number one Caden James has
go to man and it was really good coverage over
there by the Bulldogs. But one play a shot to
the end zone to Cad and James and a point
after coming up here, and I think calloway is gonna
think about going for two here in the win, Coach McCracken.
I think they're going to call a time out. And
(02:48:33):
that's the only reason you would call a time out
in this situation. Here it's thirty six. They gave the
extra point to Ope like it's thirty five. Thirty five
right now, tie ballgame. But Calloway gonna think this over, Mac.
I think I think Coach Wiggins is going to go
for the win here.
Speaker 5 (02:48:53):
Did we lose?
Speaker 4 (02:48:53):
Mat he go go ahead?
Speaker 3 (02:48:54):
Mac?
Speaker 4 (02:48:55):
You there, yep, we got we go, we got we.
Speaker 9 (02:48:57):
Got jacked up speech right here down here by coach
more So I'm all in it.
Speaker 5 (02:49:01):
So here we go.
Speaker 3 (02:49:02):
You go.
Speaker 4 (02:49:03):
I plan on going on happy on the cheese wagons
back home.
Speaker 5 (02:49:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:49:06):
Well the big stop right here. Yeah, it's just they're
gonna go for the win here.
Speaker 9 (02:49:10):
Well, Van, I mean, think about everything they've done on
the short right, They've done the throwbacks, the little swing
out passes to the little running backs. I mean, you know,
not really powered it up, but they've ran that quarterback
a lot.
Speaker 7 (02:49:21):
So let's you know every hey, we made it happen
some time against Ben Russell.
Speaker 5 (02:49:26):
Let's go for two in a row, all right.
Speaker 4 (02:49:29):
And here comes to the Callaway Cavaliers trailing by one,
and they're electing to go for the two point conversion
to try to win it. Here Bulldogs want to stop
win it. Callaway with a two point conversion wins it.
Two white outs to the right sign a single receiver
to the left hand. Coach Brian Moore comes in and
calls a time out. He wants to think this over.
They still don't have the score right on the scoreboard. Yeah,
(02:49:53):
right now it's thirty five thirty five. Oh are you right?
You're right coach? Yep, thirty six thirty five, you're right, yeah,
Dogs are leading by one here. Now they finally got
the score right on the scoreboard. So Dog's up by one.
And instead of going for the extra point and tying
(02:50:15):
it up, Callaway going for the win. I like the
call here by coach Pete Wiggins by the Bulldog's defense
just heasa come up with a stop those of the
football at the three yard line, so it's basically three
yards to go here for Callaway for the two point conversion.
(02:50:38):
And the Bulldog defense trots out on the field and
Opolca coaching staff telling the crowd to get on their feet. Here,
one point lead for Polaka. Callaway going for the win
on the two point try Harrington out of the shotgun.
He's got two wide outs to the right, single receiver
to the left. Now he brings a man in motion.
Harrington rolls to his right throes and him is his
bass no no good, no good.
Speaker 5 (02:51:00):
Dogs win it.
Speaker 4 (02:51:02):
He had Jeffrey Ellis open and he threw it behind
him and the ball hits the turf and the Dogs
will get out of here with a thirty six thirty
five win. Woo coach, one point win for the Dogs.
Tip your captain, Callaway. That is an outstanding group and
(02:51:24):
a well coached team there by Coach Pete Wiggins and
the Dogs escape thirty six thirty five. A game, What
a game, coach, it was, thirty six thirty five the
final In overtime, Callaway goes for the win and it
comes up short only two point try. We're back after
this and we'll catch up with Coach More and our
postgame show coming up on the way. Here on the kicker,
(02:51:55):
I hope all like a winner in overtime over Callaway
thirty six thirty five. The one point win here for
the Dogs, as hope like it gets the extra point
in overtime, callawaya links to go for a two point try.
They missed their wide receiver in the end zone and
the Bulldogs escape. Well drawn up play by coach Wiggins.
Coach McCracken, that was a good drawn up play. He
(02:52:16):
had his receiver and his receiver just wasn't looking. But hey,
pressure by the defense calls that early throw.
Speaker 5 (02:52:21):
Hey, I've seen games just like that. Yeah, where the
quarterback rolls out.
Speaker 3 (02:52:26):
Hey, the Texas A and m Auburn game and overtime
last year.
Speaker 5 (02:52:30):
Yeah, the boy just dropped the ball.
Speaker 3 (02:52:32):
Yeah, I was saying, but this one was thrown behind
him and hey, big play. Golly, yeah you when there
was when we snapped that ball over the centers and
we snapping over his head.
Speaker 4 (02:52:48):
Well, we snapped it and I think it just went through, Uh,
got past Kobe and then and I got all the
way up to the forty yard.
Speaker 5 (02:52:55):
That we didn't let that beat us, You know what
I mean.
Speaker 4 (02:52:59):
I mean, that's all right, Mack. You're ready with coach.
You let us know when you get coach, and we'll
we'll go ahead and get this show on the road.
Speaker 5 (02:53:05):
Here.
Speaker 3 (02:53:06):
I know, coaches see if he wants to go ahead
and finish this and get it over with, all right,
go ahead, Matt, coach.
Speaker 4 (02:53:13):
Hey, a little bit different story here in the second half.
Just talk about your emotions and your kids.
Speaker 7 (02:53:19):
Yeah, I mean, I'm proud of the resilience once again,
and I'm proud and I'm grateful for a win, and
I'm thankful for that band and that you know, student
section and those parents. But I've got to get our
football team playing better, don't I don't want to do that,
and I don't want to take for granted what happened
tonight because I'm thankful for.
Speaker 4 (02:53:40):
An overtime win.
Speaker 7 (02:53:41):
Our kids are learning to win, but Gollly Moses is
so hard when we're snapping the ball over our heads
and jumping off sides on second three, you know, and
just the little things that have to be better, cutting
guys loose, tons and tons of guys, and coverage are
open and we have got to fix it. I'm thankful
for a real week next week. I'm thankful for you know,
(02:54:03):
being able to come in and V two and oh,
I mean, I am thankful for that. But I've got
to do a better job and figure out how to
reach our kids. And I've got to get our coaches
to do the same thing. Like we've got to figure
out we're staying connected, and we're fighting and we're being
resilient and we're playing hard.
Speaker 5 (02:54:15):
It's all all that's happening.
Speaker 7 (02:54:16):
They want to win for each other, but we can't
have senseless penalties at the end of the ball game
we should have won in regulation.
Speaker 5 (02:54:22):
We can't have a ball snapped.
Speaker 7 (02:54:23):
Over our head when we're at the plus five driving
into score. Like those things are just unacceptable, and we
have not done that. Like, we work so hard on
our discipline, and I've got to figure out a way
to reach these kids, because that's my job. My job
is to continue to fight and sharpen and execute and
be efficient. And I didn't do that to tight and
I and I hate it because our kids, you know, again,
(02:54:45):
are fighting so hard. But I've got to figure out
a way to get them to do those little things right.
Speaker 9 (02:54:49):
Well, I'm gonna tell you something that I know through
all of this you're looking for leadership early of course
with seniors, and I want to tell you that what
I witnessed in the locker room at halftime there was
Coach Landers came up to Jordan Waits challenged him, said,
you're the senior. Yeah, you know, hey, Hammer's out. I
need you to do something special. I need you to
let it go.
Speaker 5 (02:55:09):
Coach. That's Jordan of old right there.
Speaker 4 (02:55:12):
Man, he he I mean absolutely, And you know I.
Speaker 7 (02:55:15):
Was able to see him a little bit, and I said, man,
you know, it can't just be about you anymore. Not
that he's selfish at all, but he was always intrinsic
and you know doesn't want to, you know, open up
and pull guys with him. But we need that twenty
four that we got in the second half right there. Man,
he was a difference maker, how hard he ran and
the things he did for leadership things.
Speaker 5 (02:55:33):
You're right, Mack on the sideline.
Speaker 4 (02:55:34):
And in halftime, let me get you the van of
pots about some alburn cush congratulations. A roller coaster of
emotions in that one. But I you know, the fight
of your team to never give up, man, And he
comes down to the defense and the defense comes up
and I know that was a big question. I know,
you know, coming into the season in two games in
a row, your defense comes up big for you.
Speaker 3 (02:55:53):
Yeah, I mean, yes, yes.
Speaker 7 (02:55:55):
An incredible job by them is staying resilient. You know,
we had the snap you know there at the end,
and I just grabbed them, you know, before I ran
him on the field, you know, because you know, you're
worried about body language and they're worried about them running
out there and do what they needed to do, and
they just did roasted the occasion, went out, you know,
and and fought and you know again it wasn't pretty.
(02:56:15):
And but but I don't want to take for granted
these wins. And I'm thankful for the heart of our
team and the connection of our team and our fans.
And we just gotta we gotta grow, man, and get better,
and at some point we're gonna do that, and we're
going to clean up these mistakes.
Speaker 4 (02:56:28):
Well, coach, I'm gonna let you go enjoy this one
because you got to fired up Auburn team that's gonna
come in next week. This's getting beat forty two to

that's Davia shock in Auburn tonight, forty two to fourteen.
Our final score again here thirty six, thirty five, final break.

broadcast here from Calloway. What a win tonight for the
Bulldog thirty six thirty five. They win in in overtime
over the Callaway Cavaliers. Bulldogs go to four and two
in this series against Callaway, and boy, I tell you,
only one of them really was really a one sided affair.
The first meeting Tank Bixby kind of turned it on
and then last year Opelika had their way. But the
other games have been just barn burners, and it was
(02:57:25):
another one. Here we go into overtime and win this one.
Thirty six thirty five. Don't forget next week on Thursday
night again, but will be inside Bulltdog's Day and welcoming
in the Auburn High Tigers for the one hundredth meeting
of that rivalry game. Can't wait for that one. Dogs
will win an overtime thirty six thirty five Tomorrow night.

Bavarow and Eddy Owen. They'll be back at normal time
