Speaker 2 (01:10):
Well.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
We welcome you in this playoff time in Alabama and
the road to Birmingham begins tonight here in Trustful for
the Opalaika Bulldogs opening round of the AHSAA Class seven
eight State Playoffs as the Opalaika Bulldogs and hit the
road to take on the Hewitt Trustful Huskies in a
high stakes Friday night showdown alongside Hall of Fame coach
Spence mccrack and mc McCracken adjacent Lee.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
I'm Being Riggs.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Ope Like enters a postseason with a seven and three
overall record, finishing third in Region two. Under head coach
Brian Moore and the Bulldogs have battled through a tough
schedule and now look to make noise in their thirty
third playoff appearance in school history. Dogs have leaned on
the ground and pound identity. They've averaged one hundred and
seventy six rushing yards per game.
Speaker 5 (01:52):
C J.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
Johnson has been a work course. He's carried the ball
seventeen times for ninety nine yards of that regular season
finale and the hammer Blake Johnson has been the short
yardage machine, racking up seven touchdowns on the season. He
averages just under five yards of carry and at quarterback
sometimore with Cooper gonna ask me a game manager for
the most part tonight and delivers some timely throws to
(02:12):
keep that defense. And you at Trustville honest. Now on
the other side, who at Trustful? The Region three runner up?
They come in eight and two riding momentum after a
dominant forty nine to seven win over Tuscaloosa County, and
the Huskies feature a potent offense. They average nearly thirty
four points per game. Freshman quarterback Jack Floyd has.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
Led most of the season.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
He's the coach's son, but senior Zach Benedict is slowly
returning from injury. And we'll see a lot of the
action to night as well. And this marks the first
meeting between opal Like and he had Trustful, and it
promises to be a battle of grit, speed and playoff intensity.
Here tonight Bulldogs three and seven all time on the
road in first round games. But you know, hard to believe.
(02:51):
This is only the eleventh time in school history the
Oplika Bulldogs have been on the road in a first
round playoff matchup. Should have been exciting when win or
go home for the Bulldogs tonight here and Hewett trust boy,
and when we come back we'll hear from the Opelika
Bulldogs head football coach Brian Moore as we continue with
our pregame show here on the Kicker.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
You are listening to Opalika High School Football here on
ninety seven point seven Kicker FM. Now it's time for
Coach Spence McCracken's Keys to the Game, presented by Glenn Smiths,
Chevrolet GMC and OPA.
Speaker 6 (03:30):
Get ready to smile. Well, here we are Van Riggs playing.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
I think one of the best football teams in the
state of Alabama. Uh the hewittt Trustful group, the Huskies.
Speaker 6 (03:47):
And uh so the Keys to the Game.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
And this is the playoff, baby, this is the you're
you're you gotta play and win or you're out if
you play, if you don't play well and you lose,
your out the other way around.
Speaker 6 (04:03):
But we have got to do five or six.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Things that we're not doing consistently. Let's start defensively. We've
got to stop this hut trustful running game. We've got
to be able to stop their running game. They've got
two running backs that run well, they've got two season
quarterbacks and uh so we've got we've got to tackle,
(04:29):
got to stop the run and tackle well.
Speaker 6 (04:32):
We got to get turnovers.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
We hadn't gotten many turnovers in the last week or two.
If you hit people hard enough, you can knock.
Speaker 6 (04:41):
The ball away from and we've got to get some turnovers.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
We've got to stop third and fourth down conversions. And
we know stupid penalties by our defense, laid hits, face masks,
crap like that.
Speaker 6 (04:57):
We don't need to do that.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
And we need to pressure this quarterback on passing downs.
They're gonna throw the ball on us, but they're gonna
try to run first. I got a really, really good
feeling about that. All right, on offense, we have to
be able to run the football for three yards or more.
And I'm really serious about this one. They're gonna load
(05:21):
that box van with six seven people in the box
and they're gonna force us to throw, but we can
still run the ball. It's gonna be smart about what
we choose and so being able to run the ball consistently,
we need to make some big plays, big plays, big plays,
ten yard runs, fifteen yard passes that just de moralizes
(05:45):
a defense. No stupid penalties, and listen, our quarterbacks a
tenth grader, the other one's a junior. They don't need
to make any mistakes tonight. No mistakes, no turnovers, no
what interceptions?
Speaker 3 (06:01):
All right, well, coach, let's head down. We've got our
PA announcer, public address announcer going to bring us the
national anthem here at Husky Stadium, and you're a trustful
(07:13):
marching band with the national anthem. And again Coach McCracken's
keys to the game, Rodgerie Mick Glen Smith Chevrolet and
GMC and Ope IgGs at sixty two off of I
eighty five. Get ready to smile. More of our pregame
show continues after this. You're listening ople like a bulldog
football here on the kicker back here at Hewett Trustful Stadium,
(07:38):
Van Ridge, Lassigne, Coach Vince McCracken, mag McCracken on the
field tonight with our four seasons Federal Credit Union Sideline
reports Jason Lee also one of our engineers tonight and
helping us spot on be along for the halftime as well,
and they shout out to the Husky Fast Network. Also
Pat Smith their voice, Kevin Blair engineer that did an
outstanding job getting us set up here tonight. Fantastic set
(08:01):
up here at hew at Trustbell stadium and boy, broadcasters,
we certainly don't take for granted great press boxes and
set up, so they got a fantastic set up here,
don't think Coach mccrath.
Speaker 6 (08:10):
It was great ver here man. I love it up here.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
It's one of the best press boxes I think we've
ever been in. Yeah, and thank you for letting us
have such good facilities.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
Yeah, very very nice. They have the track around the
turf field here at Hewitt Trustful Stadium. But they've got
a triple decker press box here that's very nice, very
hospitable folks here and Hugh at Trustful to our left
up on the hill, they've got a fifty yard indoor.
I say indoor. It is a covered practice facility. But
they've got the lit up Hugh and Trustful logos up
(08:43):
there on the hill which is off to the distance
to our left, and before the sun set here the
mountains all around the stadium. It's a really nice venue
here at Hewitt Trustful. We got captains on the field though,
getting ready to take the field for the Open like
a bulldogs. Mac McCracken getting ready to bring out Jalen Washington.
And I also see here Lake Drick Burks a captain.
(09:06):
Jordan Waits, a captain for the Bulldogs and also for
oph Like is number twenty five. Jamel Griffin and captains
meeting at midfield, brought to by Rentals Outdoors.
Speaker 4 (09:19):
Hey, we'll head down with the white hat guys. That's
mister Howard.
Speaker 6 (09:21):
I'm mister Penway. Were two of them different down here.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
Congratulations on making it in the first round of the playoffs. Right, Hey,
you guys are captains for a reason. We need you
to take care of your team for right. This is
really simple.
Speaker 7 (09:33):
If you have a problem, if the guys in the
striped shirt solve before you.
Speaker 5 (09:37):
Okay, I got any pointing bro.
Speaker 4 (09:39):
Gay names, I want to let you call them. Okay,
this is his and that is tales.
Speaker 5 (09:45):

Speaker 4 (09:46):

it is tales. You want to talk to what you

Speaker 3 (10:02):

the second half. So we will see Hewitt trustfuls of
fence first up here on their home field tonight here
at Hewitt Trustbell Stadium. We'll come back on the way
next we'll continue with our pregame show right here on
ninety seven point seven Kicker FM. This is Opa Laika
High School Football on the Kicker w.
Speaker 8 (10:20):
KKR Auburn Opelaika is Lee County's best Country ninety seven

Speaker 3 (10:37):
Back here inside he At Trustful Stadium and AHSA reminds
fans now we all play a role in enjoying high
school sports. Be a role model in this play good
sportsmanship at all times. A public service message from the
Alabama High School Athletic Association. Huskies take the field first
to our lep as the Heuit Trustful marching ban on
the field along with the major ns and the flag crew.
(11:00):
Trustful comes out tonight with gray pants, red jerseys, white
numbers outlined in black, red helmets with a white husky
on each side of the helmet.
Speaker 4 (11:10):
Bulldogs and to.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
The right corner, far right corner, as we come to
you from the home side here at Hugh at Trustwill Stadium,
and the Bulldog's wearing the black pants Tonight white jerseys,
black numbers outlined in red red helmets, and the dogs
take the field across the way. Mac McCracken, somewhere down
on the field down there, Mac, how's the dogs getting ready?
Speaker 4 (11:30):
Down there on the sidelines?
Speaker 7 (11:32):
Van, they're fired up there in the fog store. Man, Hey,
you in the locker room. While coach boy gave the
floor to Bam Prescott, who gave one great speech, just
told them about being built differently. This dog team is
built differently, and whoever's built difference is gonna come out
on top tonight.
Speaker 6 (11:49):
The boys are.
Speaker 7 (11:49):
Well rested, you know, had the week off as well
as you it did, So look, just prepare for war tonight.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
All right, thank you very much, Mac. All Right, war
we got Coach McCracken, are you ready for?
Speaker 6 (12:00):
Ready for?
Speaker 2 (12:01):
This is the first time that we've deferred in about
three or four weeks. I think, well, we're going to
play defense first, which I basically like.
Speaker 3 (12:10):
To be interesting to see who comes out first. At
quarterback number fifteen, Zach Benedict is warming up down on
the field and he has forty of sixty two on
the season, six hundred and thirty nine yards, five touchdowns,
two interceptions. He's played in just six games this season.
He was injured in week number two, came back in
the pratbull game. Got the start there freshman Jack Floyd,
the coach's son of Josh Floyd. He had gotten a
(12:33):
lot of reps. He actually had nine hundred and sixteen
passing yards eighty two attempts for one hundred and ten yards.
But Floyd Moore of the runner one hundred and four
carries six hundred and twenty two yards just twenty one
carries one hundred and forty two yards for Zach Benedict.
So we'll see just what Hewitt decides to do with
the quarterback right out of the gate. Here here we go,
(12:56):
and the Bulldogs set to kick it off from left
to right. Grees has a teed up in the forty
yard line to our right. Awaiting things in the end
zone are the uit trustful Hope Huskies and Dylan Cope,
one of their star wide receivers, one of the deep
men for the Huskies, and also back deep one of
their outstanding running back C. J. Davis Reese hoid of
(13:17):
points sued into this one end over end and will
be fielded at the one, but it will be returnable
here for Davis. He's a dangerous return man, but he's
gonna be brought down shy of the twenty yard line.
Speaker 4 (13:28):
Could you're out of seventeen yard line.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
That's a great, great job. Our kicking teams excellent. Now
we're gonna start six junior, sixth juniors, four seniors, and
one sophomore on defense. And listen, we've been hurt the
last four or five games and Brian's done a great
job of getting them all well. We got all everybody
back well again. Now, so let's see how we can
(13:52):
play defense.
Speaker 3 (13:54):
Trustful will start out with two wide receivers right one
wide side of the field and then empty the backfield.
Benedict will throw a screen pass far side of the field.
It is complete cops got it up near the first
down marker across the twenty five. He's going to be
up close to the twenty seven yard line and it's
going to be close to nine yards depending on the
spot there.
Speaker 4 (14:12):
So just a little straight screen and they're gonna go
hurry back.
Speaker 3 (14:16):
Second down in short one here for the Huskies, and
that time almost a busted play in the backfield, but
they will get enough for the first down. Quarterback keeper
Zach Benedict Andy got it up to the twenty nine
yard line, picked up two yards, just needed one, so
a first down quickly for the Huskies.
Speaker 4 (14:32):
Out of the gate. It'll be first and ten hew
at Trustful.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
From there on a twenty nine yard line, they'll bring
a man in motion. Benedict quick hand off Noe quarterback
keeper straight up the middle. He gets to the thirty
two yard line for three yards. It's time by money
Thomas and it will be second down in seven upcoming
here for you at Trustful. Just underway you at Trustful,
(14:56):
a quick first down. They're going fast. They slow down
here on this second down play as they checked the sidelines.
Three wide to the left side of the field. Here
for Benedict. Out of the shotgun. He'll empty the backfield again.
Wants to throw a screen and it's dropped that time.
Just askin They say incomplete. Ooh, that was close, and
it was very close.
Speaker 9 (15:15):
You're right.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
I don't say it was a backwards pass or will
be an incomplete, but it'll be a third down up
coming here for you at Trustill. Big down here for
the defense, third and seven Huskies again with three receivers
here to the left side, hard count.
Speaker 6 (15:33):
Good pass rushed down.
Speaker 3 (15:34):
Now Benedict will check the sidelines Huskies from their own
thirty one yard line and Benedict drops backs, got time
throws across the middle incomplete at the forty eight yard line.
He tried to get it to Dylan Cope, but it's
incomplete and the Huskies will have to punt it away.
Good stop there. Defense gives up one first down, but
(15:56):
force the Huskies to punt.
Speaker 6 (15:58):
Good job, good job.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
Thirty nine and that'll send Andre Van inside the forty
at around the thirty nine yard line awaiting this punt.
The punt got away from the punter and the Bulldogs
happen at the ten yard line. Wow, oh my goodness,
another misk you this has really hunted. It was blocked
actually by the Bulldogs. That happens so quickly. But it
(16:22):
will swatted down Jason Lee on that one and it
got blocked and the Bulldogs will have it at the
Husky eleven yard line. What a play there by the
Bulldog special teams. That was something coach Moore thought they
could take advantage of. And now they're set up first
down at the Husky eleven yard line. So here's the
Bulldogs wide receiver to the right. Gotta cash in here,
(16:44):
quarterback with Cooper hand off in the backfield. See j
Johnson hit by one and laid down by another. When
it's Harrison alone that comes in and finishes off Johnson.
They were teen off on that play on first down,
and it will be second down at eleven. Backed up
now at the twelve yard line.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
Six seen years and five juniors on this offensive team.
We cannot get anything here but a touchdown.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
Van Jakoby Jackson was actually on that block punt there
for the Bulldogs.
Speaker 4 (17:09):
Good job on special teams.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
But second and eleven, the Bulldogs will shift from right
to left here and now wit Cooper a quick throat
in and out of the hands intended for Washington at
the nine yard line.
Speaker 4 (17:23):
But now it's gonna be third down and eleven for
the Bulldogs.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
And you'd really hope, like coach McCracken said, to come
away with a touchdown here, but it's gonna be third
and eleven now on the Husky crown on their feet. Well,
you gotta make teams really late. You gotta make teams
pay for big mistakes. Hopefully the Bulldogs can make them
pay here, empty backfield here for Wit Cooper. Now he'll
(17:50):
bring a man in motion from left to right, and
the tailback slipped down.
Speaker 8 (17:54):
That was c J.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
Johnson.
Speaker 3 (17:55):
Now Wit Cooper quarterback keeper, and Cooper's gonna get down
inside the five and Cooper gonna be brought down around
the four yard lines. To be interesting to see if
coach more decides to go for a field goal here
or try to go on fourth down.
Speaker 4 (18:06):
Is gonna be fourth and about three.
Speaker 3 (18:08):
Looks like the offense is staying and put right now
after that good run by Witt Cooper, and that was
a heads up play well out of a field goal.
Speaker 4 (18:14):
Team will come in.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
But c J.
Speaker 4 (18:17):
Johnson was gonna get it.
Speaker 3 (18:18):
We saw him slip down in the backfield and then
when Cooper made something out of nothing there. So it'll
be a field goal attempt here inside the five around
the four yard line. About a twenty one yard field
goal here from the left hash for Reese Beasley. Husky's
showing pressure here too with nine fifteen in a running
clock here in the first quarter. Now went will go
under center, and they tried to They tried to get
(18:42):
the Huskies to move.
Speaker 6 (18:43):
Oh, I thought they jumped.
Speaker 3 (18:46):
Lay clock is down to zero and they have yet
called it the lay a game. Now they do call
the delay a game against opall like it. I think
that was by design.
Speaker 6 (18:56):
It was.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
That will just back rece up, just a bump here,
that would have gave the Bulldogs a first down. Good
option there for coach. More so, now it will be
a twenty six yard field goal here for Reese from
again the left. Hash went Cooper to hole. The snap
(19:20):
is down and then kist up and the kick is good.
Bulldogs strike first, wanted more, but they'll settle for three
after the big special teams played by the Bulldogs.
Speaker 4 (19:30):
Three nothing Dogs.
Speaker 3 (19:31):

Speaker 6 (20:07):
Go Ducks bring home that win well.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
Jacoby Jackson gets a block punt on the Huskies. Bulldogs
had starting field position at the eleven yard line, but
they'll settle for three and a Reese Beasley field go
puts the Dogs up three nothing. The kick end over
end will sail into the end zone. That'll be a
touchback and that's where the Huskies will start now from
their own twenty yard line. Picked up one first down,
(20:39):
Coach McCracken last time out on offense, Bulldogs defense settled
in and did a good job. Yes, getting the punt
and defense will have a guy they got their hands
full of tonight with this Husky offense, we set the
average around thirty four points a game. And they're back
out to work here first and ten from their own
twenty yard line. Zat Benedict back out at quarterback.
Speaker 4 (21:00):
For the Huskies. Benedict gets the snap, looked left.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
Now all roll to the right, throws on the run
and nobody will yeah incomplete just threw it into the
opal like a sideline, so it'll be second down and ten.
Jack Floyd, I'm not sure his status tonight. He is
the freshman of coach Jack Floyd, his son who quarterbacked
a lot this season. Had a hand injury in that
prat ball game. This last regular season game against Tuscaloosa
(21:26):
County a couple of weeks ago. Deuce Austin, very good tailback,
who's a three star Kentucky commit. The right side of
Benedict here out of the gun. Now he'll empty the backfield,
going empty set here with three receivers to the left,
to to the right from their on twenty yard line,
go the Huskies. Benedict drops back again. It's got time
runs here near sigh. I got a lot of green
(21:47):
grass ahead of him. He'll take it and run. But
there's a flag down in the backfield, and that should
be a hole at around the nineteen yard line on the.
Speaker 4 (21:54):
Hustle bas.
Speaker 3 (21:56):
So that run by Benedict should be negated by the whole.
It will be coming back a twenty nine remaining in
the first quarter, a three nothing score right now, Opelaanka
with the lead here at Hewitt Trustwill Stadium.
Speaker 9 (22:09):
This is.
Speaker 6 (22:09):
We got it.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
We gotta make things happen now, Van, we got them,
We got them back up.
Speaker 6 (22:14):
We got a penalty on them.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
DJ Thomas, Josh Davis, Barney Thomas and Terres Thomas.
Speaker 6 (22:20):
We got Thomas's all over the field.
Speaker 5 (22:22):
Up front for the Dogs.
Speaker 6 (22:24):
Perks and Harris at the linebackers.
Speaker 4 (22:27):
It's a rerun.
Speaker 6 (22:28):
Griffin and Howard at the corners.
Speaker 4 (22:31):
Jack Floyd not dressed. There's a handoff and that a
nice lay.
Speaker 3 (22:40):
Carson Riddle in the backfield and he gets the tailback
Deuce Austin for a gain a one, they'll say, up
to the eleven yard line, but it's going to be
third in law now coming up here for the Huskies.
Speaker 6 (22:52):
Don't want to give him a first down here now, third.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
Down and eighteen for the Huskies. They'll have it from
their own twelve yard line. Too deep shale for the Dogs.
Two wide receivers either side. Benedict drops back, takes a
deep shot. He's got a man wide open, caught at midfield,
down the sidelines, inside the forty a foot race down the.
Speaker 4 (23:11):
Sidelines and he will not be caught. Touchdown.
Speaker 3 (23:14):
Huskies Jill and Coke got behind the defense and takes
it to the house.
Speaker 4 (23:23):
On a third and eighteen, Benedict to Coke.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
Wow, win a football game right there, eighty eight yard
touchdown throwing catch and the Huskies a point after away
from making this a seven to three ball game. And
goodness busted a Simon there on that defense somehow, and
right now Benedict's got too much time back there. Also
Nathan Fritz for the extra point. It was blocked by
(23:51):
the whistle, blew it dead and we'll wait the call
here if this was an all sides on Opalaika or
a motion penalty here on a trustful Huskies go big
shot on third and eighteen, a penalty was on Opalaiko
(24:15):
and Opelaika can't really get backed up in much.
Speaker 4 (24:20):
Or that they were here.
Speaker 3 (24:23):
Number two, Nathan Fritz for the extra point. Good stamp
and that kick is up and it is good, trustful
an eighty plus yard touchdown pass from Benedict to Dylan Cope,
and the Husky's now on top seven to three with
seven fifty one remaining. Here in the first quarter, you listen,
know like a bulldog football here on the kicker. Bullood
(24:53):
defense had the Huskies backed up third and eighteen from
their own twelve. But it was an eighty eight yard
touchdown throw from Zach Benedict to Dylan Cope. And here's
the kickoff to the Bulldogs at the twenty five yard
line and a big hit on Jacoby Jackson at around
the twenty eight yard line of the Husky special teams
fired up after that big knock on that return.
Speaker 4 (25:13):
You can see right there. Husky's not going to give
c J.
Speaker 3 (25:16):
Johnson and those dangers or turnament for Palaika eight chance
if they can tonight. So the Bulldogs will start for
their own twenty eight yard line. Last time out, Opelikah
special teams gave the offense the football at the twelve
yard line, but opl like I had to settle for
a field goal. And now Bulldogs, when they're on twenty eight,
we'll see what the offense can do with a regular
set here and.
Speaker 4 (25:37):
Dogs for their on twenty eight yard line.
Speaker 8 (25:39):
C J.
Speaker 3 (25:39):
Johnson the tailback here for Cooper a quick throw here
near side. It is complete to Andre Van and he
gets out of aunds at around the thirty one yard line.
Speaker 4 (25:48):
Not much there.
Speaker 3 (25:49):
They'll give him the thirty two, so we'll be a
pickup of around four yards. I'll check that two yards.
They gave the starting field position at the twenty nine actually,
and he kind a two yard pickup up to the
thirty one yard line. So it will be a second
down to eight now for the Bulldogs. Two wide receivers
(26:10):
to the right. Now Washington goes in motion from right
to left. A quick inside pitched to the hammer Blake Johnson.
Good run. Johnson's got close to the forty five yard line.
He'll be stopped at the forty five. So that's a
pick up of fourteen yards. It'll be elaborate transfer in
storage first down. Good creative way to get Blake Johnson
the football there.
Speaker 6 (26:29):
Very good.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
Julian Pritching, Dillard Corbin Fears, Darris Witlow, and Eric Mason
upfront for the Dogs.
Speaker 4 (26:37):
CJ.
Speaker 3 (26:38):
Johnson the tail back. Now, Jalen Washington goes in motion.
It'll be a gif to CJ. CJ runs right side
and CJ is going to be brought down at the
forty eight yard line. It's three yard pick up there
for c J. Johnson. So it'll be second down in
seven up coming here for the Bulldogs. Six thirty three
to go, first quarter.
Speaker 6 (26:54):
Got to Mott match what they did you.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
A trustful leading seven to three here at hew at
Trustwill Stadium, Bulldogs. From there on forty nine yard line
Dogs moving from left to right hard count there by
Wit Cooper Bulldogs with three receivers to the left side,
a single receiver to the right.
Speaker 8 (27:15):
C J.
Speaker 3 (27:15):
Johnson the loan back or Wit Cooper. Cooper gets the
hand off play action throw tipped in the air and
it lands incomplete, nearly an interception.
Speaker 4 (27:26):
That was a good play by Hayden.
Speaker 3 (27:28):
Chauvin number three came up and tipped that one up
in the air now to be third down for the Bulldogs,
third and seven.
Speaker 6 (27:38):
We didn't get any separation on that one, Van no, sir,
no separation.
Speaker 4 (27:43):
Hewett was.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
Dangerously close to getting a turnover there. Cooper out of
the shot gun, two wide receivers to the left side again,
the loan back is c. J.
Speaker 4 (27:55):
Johnson.
Speaker 3 (27:56):
Blake Johnson, the full back moves to the left and
they're going to get Opelika for a bar star. So
that'll back up the Bulldogs five yards and it makes
what was a third and seven a third in long
coming up here for the Bulldogs. Third down and twelve
for opal Aka. Now the ball spotted back around the
forty three yard line. Gotta be very careful here on
(28:23):
this third down and be interesting to see the play
call here from coach Atkins and coach Brian Moore here
on this third and long Bulldogs when they're on forty
three third and twelve six oh two to play, first quarter,
wit gonna drop back, throw a screen across the middle,
gets it to Andre Van but he is wrapped up.
Didn't pick but about a yard up up to the
(28:45):
forty three yard line, actually about right at the line
of scrimmage. May it gave him about a half a
yard and the punting team comes in for Opalika here
with five forty four to go here in the first quarter. Yeah,
the Huskies will bring in number five Will Phillips offensive
back for the Huskies return man. He'll walk up a
(29:08):
few steps around the fifteen yard line and Reese Beasley
stands at around the thirty yard line to catch this
punt rugby punt and shank this one out of mounds.
I'm trying to kick it away from him. That one
got off the side of the foot. I believe of
Reese Beasley.
Speaker 6 (29:27):
That was a bad punt.
Speaker 3 (29:30):
They marked it at the thirty three yard line, So
that's where the Huskies will start first and ten from
there on thirty three yard line. Five seventeen to play
here in the first quarter, Huskies league seven to three.
Their offense coming back on the field, though, we got
an official time out on the field, so we'll step aside.
You listen to Bulldog football here on the kicker back
(29:58):
here at you at Trustfull Stadium. Let's head down on
the for four seasons Federal Credit Unions sideline report.
Speaker 4 (30:02):
Matt mccrack in. Tough sledding so far for this offense.
Speaker 7 (30:06):
Yeah, you know, not getting six right there and getting
the three, but that was points on the board, and
you know that just nightmare scenario happening right there, I
think third and twenty. And then we let him get
bias and big plays and so truck that up for
hewittt can't allow that anymore for the rest of the
football game. Uh, this is a huge series right here.
To stop. Then we gotta get the ball back, gotta
(30:26):
be able to get to be able to run the football. Hey,
the sideline still upbeat here and gotta just take.
Speaker 6 (30:32):
It to him.
Speaker 3 (30:32):
All right, we got number zero checks in the ball game.
This is Floyd at quarterback wildcat quarterback and he gets
it across the thirty five up to the thirty seven
yard line. And this is Parker Floyd, who also plays linebacker,
and he's gonna get some reps at quarterback now out
of pears. He's a very much similar to his freshman
brother Jack Floyd, but Floyd will staying out of the
(30:55):
wildcat here out of the shotgun, gets the stamp hands
of the motion. Van Dylan Coat wide receiver here near
side cut at the forty five and up near midfield,
and coach gets the sidelines and he almost breaks it
down around the thirty three yard line and knocked out
of bounds by Jamel Griffin. But a big time run
and a big Husky first down thirty yard pickup, and
(31:19):
the Huskies go fast here inside the thirty five down
around the thirty three of Okalaika and quarterback keeper here
by Floyd inside the thirty down to the twenty eight
yard line. Lake Drick berks on the stop and it
will be second down and six coming up here for
the Huskies after that game of four.
Speaker 4 (31:42):
Down at the twenty nine yard line. And here's an.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
Inside hand off that one we'd d nicely by the Bulldogs.
And there is a flag coming in and appears a
hold on the Huskies as they get the football again
to their big play.
Speaker 4 (32:00):
And so that was CJ. Davis on the carry.
Speaker 3 (32:02):
There the kedrit burts again on the stop and what
appears to be a holding against the Huskies. It is
it'll back them up seven three are score four seventeen
to go here in the first quarter, Huskies with the
lee that penalty'll back the Huskies up to the thirty
nine yard line.
Speaker 6 (32:18):
Got to stop this running game, yes, we do.
Speaker 2 (32:21):
With all they did is running the ball, throwing fast,
and we're not able to stop them.
Speaker 3 (32:28):
Seck it down in sixteen for the Huskies at the
opal like a thirty nine yard line and this time
is a snap to c J. Davis the running back
who ran right. Ain't gonna be held up for a
pretty short game. Doram Matthews comes up and makes the stop.
They'll give them the thirty six yard line. So we
does pick up five yards.
Speaker 6 (32:48):
Yeah, that's too much.
Speaker 4 (32:49):
Be third and twelve coming up here. Thirteen Actually for
the Huskies.
Speaker 2 (32:53):
This is two down zoned for them, So we got
a we gotta pare down here. We can't let them
score anything.
Speaker 3 (33:00):
Parker Floyd back in at quarterback for the Huskies, the
senior linebacker, gonna play both ways tonight. He's a big
guy too, two hundred and five pounds senior. And a
time out taken and by the Huskies here on this
third down and twelve play. We'll step aside as well.
Seven three Huskies with the lead. We got three twenty
(33:21):
five to play here in the first quarter. And you're
listening like a bulldog football here on the kicker seven
three ball game, Huskies, have you had trustful leading with
three twenty five to play in the first quarter over
Opelaika and the Huskies facing a third and thirteen at
(33:42):
the Opelaika thirty six yard line, and we'll see what
they call out of the time out here they'll go wild.
Speaker 4 (33:51):
Can't look again here as Davis the court.
Speaker 3 (33:54):
Actually, this is Floyd, a linebacker at quarterback, goes straight
ahead to the thirty yard line, and he picks up
close to six yards and it'll send up a fourth
down and they ain't gonna go far to fourth in
about seven now they do keep the offense on the field.
Speaker 6 (34:10):
Yep, Well, we better stop from here Van.
Speaker 3 (34:15):
Floyd will stand at quarterback. He'll bring dal in copid motion,
drops back, wants to throw, he's in trouble. He's sacks
back of the thirty four yard line. Carson Riddle on
the sack. The big fella gets back there, and there's
a flag thrown after the play. And this may be unsportsmanlike,
but it will be after the play. But it still
(34:38):
should be a turnover on downs. But let's see what
the penalty is if this is against the Huskies. Are
the are opalaika here? White hat and sportsmanlike conduct against Opelaika?
(34:59):
And it's still open like a first down. You're gonna
lose a lot of field position there, but you still
get the turnover on downs, thankfully, first down Bulldogs. And
that's one of those things coach McCracken sending his keys
to the game. Can't get those fifteen yard posts, Oh no, no, no,
Bulldogs will have it inside the twenty from their on
eighteen yard line, first and ten, big stop though by
(35:20):
the defense there.
Speaker 6 (35:24):
You're right now. Offense. The first time out, we didn't
do it do we didn't do much, didn't do much.
Speaker 3 (35:32):
Second time out, Jordan Waits will check in the ball
game now and get a chance at tailback. Two fifty
two to go. Here in the first quarter seven to three.
You were trustful with the lead. Here's a hand off
to Waits. Waits inside a nice spin move up to
the twenty one to twenty two yard line. So Waits
does pick up four yards on first down. That'll set
up a actually picked up three yards and we got
(36:01):
another time out on the field. We got a Husky
player down on the field, actually.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
Julian Pritchard, Jeremy Dillard, Corbin Fears, Darius Whitlower, and Eric Mason.
Speaker 4 (36:12):
All right, a Husky player down on the field. Well,
we got a time out. Let's head down.
Speaker 3 (36:15):
Matt McCracken with a four seasons Federal Credit Union shineliner board.
Speaker 6 (36:19):
Mac.
Speaker 4 (36:19):
Much better job defensively there for the Bulldogs.
Speaker 6 (36:23):
Yeah there, you got me.
Speaker 7 (36:25):
They're telling some adjustments down there in the tent right there,
so that that paid big dividends. And you know they're
you know, they're talking here on the sideline. They cannot
give them the end zone anymore, thanks something the field goals,
but just keep them out and offensively, we got we
gotta get our big play there. You know, we're talking
big plays here, you go, we need ours. You know
they've had theirs.
Speaker 6 (36:43):
We need ours.
Speaker 7 (36:43):
So we got good sustained drive here, and listen if
we get some points.
Speaker 2 (36:46):
Out of this, and we got one right now Matt
Senior defense, big play seenor defensive tackle Preston Bozeman, the
injured Husky who's off the field now to be second
down and say second and.
Speaker 3 (36:57):
Seven Bulldogs from their own twenty two yard line. Here's
a handoff running here near sight is Waits and waits
up to the twenty four. Got two yards, gonna still
be third down and a third and six coming up
here for the Bulldogs. Two fourteen to play in the
(37:18):
first quarter. Sideline warning on the hue trustful I was
thrown on the play there. Two thirteen to go here
in the first quarter. Dogs gonna use a first down
here and a big play at that five wide look
here for the Bulldogs with Cooper drops back, throws right
(37:41):
across the middle to Blake Johnson, who's gonna be stood
up right there at the twenty five, spins his way
up to around the twenty six. They're gonna be well
shorten up the first down, just picked up two yards.
Try to get something safe across the middle, and it'll
be fourth down and four and the punting team trots
out here for the Bulldog's gonna have to take some shot, INTI.
I believe coach, they've really keyed down on this run.
(38:02):
We kind of talked about that on the right up here,
hopl like it was going to try their luck as
much as they could.
Speaker 4 (38:07):
Just line up and running the football.
Speaker 3 (38:08):
And this trustful front may not be the strongest, but
that line back in corps and that secondary is really
good coming down and closing down on the run. High
snaw rially scotted down in a line drive kick that
hits at the forty tanks, roll the balls on the
ground and there's a scramblefore it at the thirty two
yard line.
Speaker 4 (38:25):
He would trustful just came back up with it. It
looks like they did. Yes, they did. Boy, that was close.
Speaker 3 (38:31):
Will Phillips dropped it on the ground at the thirty
two and was able to secure it and the Truskeees
will keep the football with one forty five to go
here in the first quarter.
Speaker 2 (38:41):
The only the way we're going to get the momentum
back is with our defense. And when we're we didn't
stop them last time. They basically stopped and.
Speaker 3 (38:50):
Sales score update from Dunck Sandford Stadium best Stavia Hills
doing what they did in Week two. They lead Auburn
right now at the Duck Sandford Stadium fourteen to nothing.
It'll be the Huskies under center, and they moved and
they moved all popped out there as uh, there was
a lot of movement all over the place. We're gonna
be a false start against the Huskies and that'll back
(39:11):
them up five yards. We got one forty five to
play here in the first corner he would trust will
lead seven to three. It was an eighty eight yard
touchdown throw from quarterback Zach Benedict to Dylan Code.
Speaker 4 (39:22):
Benedict is back in at quarterback here.
Speaker 6 (39:26):
The defense has gotta get us back in this Caddy.
Speaker 3 (39:31):
Twenty seven yard line. The line of scrimmage here for
the Huskies. Benedict out of the shotgun here first and
fifteen for the Huskies.
Speaker 4 (39:38):
Low snamp.
Speaker 3 (39:39):
Now give it on a speed sweep to do saust
In the running back tries to run right kind across
the thirty up to the thirty one yard line, able
to pick up close to four yards Elijah Odin on
the stop for the Bulldog second down and eleven coming
up here for the Huskies one twenty five. As we
wind own on this first quarter, c J. Davis, running
(40:03):
back for the Huskies, comes off a little hobble on
the sidelines and very frustrated. Something to keep an eye on.
Benedict wants to throw rolls here near side of boy.
He let that one rip way over the head of
his intended wide receiver DJ Hall here around the thirty
five yard line on the near sideline. So it'll be
third down and eleven. The Bulldogs bring any troop out
trying to get a punt here on the Huskies. Then
(40:27):
one dick play here for Hewitt. Really difference in this ballgame.
Dogs need to blow up here on third down. One
tend to play here in the first quarter. Benedict checks
the sidelines. Quarterback out of the shotgun here, He's got
a wide out either side. Loan back is Deuce Austin
(40:49):
to his right. Benedict drops back. I could collapse. It
steps up and it's going to be brought down at
the thirty one yard line. Good job defensively coming up there.
Elijah Oden, the linebacker and they brought him down pick
up a maybe one and under a minute to go.
The clock continues to run. They'll bring out the punter
for the first time tonight or second time tonight.
Speaker 4 (41:10):
Last time the punter got it blocked. This one will
hit down.
Speaker 3 (41:16):
Andre Van gets into the thirty four yard line and
turns up it around the forty yard line, and that's
where the Bulldogs will have it first and ten.
Speaker 4 (41:22):
Boy, they do a man.
Speaker 2 (41:23):
We got to get our punt and ten puppet turn
team out there faster.
Speaker 3 (41:27):
I was just about to say, coach, you remember at
the lunch Coach Moore talked about how quick they get
the punt team out there, and Opelaca's punt team was
very late on the field there on that one. So
Bulldogs will have it first and ten for their own
forty one yard line, and right now o Pelaca with
thirty nine seconds to work with here before the end
of the first quarter, trailing you at trustful seven to three.
Speaker 6 (41:47):
Where we got one big play so far.
Speaker 3 (41:51):
With Cooper out of the shotgun, two wide receivers to
the right side of the field long back as Jordan
Waits Wit gets the stamp rolls here near side throws
and it's out to Johnson who slips down at the
forty two yard line. I tell you I was down
there on the field before the game. This the turf
is much different than Opelika's turf. It's very thin and
there's not much grip at all to it, and I'm
(42:13):
sure if you're used to it.
Speaker 4 (42:14):
It's one of the things I heard.
Speaker 2 (42:15):
Know.
Speaker 3 (42:15):
I'm talking to coach Keith Ethridge after their Vestavia Hills
game and he said the same thing. Maybe a type
of turf they like to go with up here. But
we've seen two or three Opeleika players slip tonight second
and ten final play here the first quarter as we're
under eight, down to seven, we'll see if Opelikah wants
to snap it here. Opalikah is going to be content,
I think to let it go to the second quarter.
(42:36):
They will seven three Huskies with the lead after one
and hear it you at Trustful Stadium, Bulldog's I have
a second and ten when we start quarter number two.
You're listening to Bulldog football here on the kicker, are
you looking Opika foot ball to start in the second quarter?
(43:01):
Seven to three our score, we're at a media time
out now as we head down on the field for
a four seasons Federal Credit Union sideline report, Mac offense
is gonna have to get a little more creative, you
think here down the stretch.
Speaker 6 (43:13):
Yeah, right now.
Speaker 7 (43:14):
I mean, you know they're talking about it in the
tents and everything, and by making some adjustments. You know,
right now, we're just we're not getting anything. You know, Dad,
you counted one one big play so far. And just offensively,
we gotta be able to run the football and that
of course that opens up the past. But yeah, we
gotta be able to move the ball because defense, right
now we're standing up and making good stands.
Speaker 6 (43:33):
Offensively, we got to move the ball and reward our defense.
Speaker 5 (43:36):
Boys.
Speaker 6 (43:37):
You're right, well said Mac.
Speaker 3 (43:40):
We are coming to you from a very nice Orthopedic
Clinic broadcast booth tonight. East Alabama's go to center for
orthopedic care are two locations, eighteen hundred Lakeside Circle in
auburt and eighteen Medical Arts Center one at twenty one
North twentieth Street in Opolaika. Play zoom, second and ten
for the Bulldogs when they're on forty one yard line
with Cooper is out of the shotgun. Actually, Wick Cooper
(44:01):
looks to be going under center here and again Jordan
Wakes will be the loan back. Still in a media
time out here. I guess for their NFHS crew, they
like to take media timeouts.
Speaker 6 (44:14):
Here.
Speaker 3 (44:15):
We need to give the we need to get the
red hat down there on the field for US coach
McCracken so we can take those long commercial breaks. Cooper
will go under center from the forty one yard line.
They'll bring a man in motion, a quick insight hand
off to Blake Johnson. Johnson across the fifty yard line
and I think forward progress are actually forty five is
up to the forty six yard line, so six yard
(44:36):
pick up there, and they'll bring up third down and.
Speaker 4 (44:40):
Five for the Bulldogs close to midfield.
Speaker 3 (44:48):
Dogs moving right to left Opelaka from their on forty
six yard line, Jordan Wakes, Blake Johnson in an I
formation here with five yards to go for the first down.
Cooper under center here on this third down play, Cooper
gets the snap play action. Cooper drops back, throws Blake
Johnson's got it at the fifty and cut down at
(45:09):
the forty nine yard line right at the first down marker.
It's going to be very close. And it looks like
they've got in mark just at the first down marker,
so it'll be a Lambert transfer in storage first down. Boy,
the you at Trustful sidelines that they've already marked a
first down. Now the coaching staff here from Hewitt Trustful
(45:31):
having a field day over here on the sidelines. He
moved that ball back, didn't he sure look like ida
a l Well? He at Trustfull trying to say it
was fourth down. They already moved the chains man. It
looked like the football. Blake Johnson was down at the
forty nine yard line. Now the ball is closer to
the fifty when they spotted it. I don't think he
(45:54):
had Trustful gonna win this argument. There's no way you
can go back and review the spot.
Speaker 6 (45:59):
Let's go.
Speaker 4 (46:00):
Are they gonna move it back and try to measure?
Speaker 5 (46:10):
Well?
Speaker 3 (46:10):
I had had to way. Coach Brian Moore moved. I
gonna be happy with this one. Well, you at least
got a measure for it, Mack.
Speaker 6 (46:23):
They moved the ball back.
Speaker 3 (46:26):
I know.
Speaker 5 (46:26):
I just told coach more good good.
Speaker 3 (46:31):
So they're gonna they're gonna market short. Coach Brian Moore
coming out on the field here boy, it looked like sure,
look like they moved the ball back towards the fifty.
Hopefully like it was lined up with the first and ten. Hope,
well I could go ahead and bring in some substitutions in.
(46:53):
It looks like here they brought out a really big
Errick Mason.
Speaker 4 (46:58):
Check it in the ball game, they brought Perching out
and put Mason in.
Speaker 6 (47:02):
That's about an extra twenty pounds.
Speaker 4 (47:05):
Well, they're not even gonna they're not even measuring for it.
Speaker 3 (47:09):
So they're gonna say fourth and short right inside the
fifty at the Hewitt Trust for forty nine. Now, well,
I hadn't seen this one before. With Cooper under center,
it'll be an eye formation here for the Bulldogs. Quick
hand off to Johnson. He's got the first down now,
and Blake carries it down around the forty six yard line.
So hopefull like it does get the Lambert transfer and
storage first down. It comes on fourth down though, as
(47:31):
he carries it down to around the forty six yard
line and hew a trustful so down to the Hewitt
Trust for forty six first down. Bulldogs, we're the second quarter,
ten thirty three to play. C. J. Johnson back in
the ball game now should be well rested. Here he'll
be dotting the I as Blake Johnson will be the
(47:54):
full back, the guy formation. As Cooper goes under center,
they'll bring a man in motion. Everybody loading that box.
Here CJ gets the hand off left side. CJ cut
down at the forty one yard line. Actually the forty
two five yard pickup though right at four yards bring
(48:16):
up a second down and six. So like you going
old school football, sometimes, coach McCracken gotta go with what's
working here, Yes, sir had is smash mouth football here
with the Huski's leading seven three, nine fifty to play.
Here in the second quarter, I formation again here Blake
Johnson the full back and against CJ. Johnson the tailbag
with Cooper under center. Quick inside hand off. Here's Jordan
(48:39):
Wake's trying to bounce it outside. Waits cut down at
the forties the first down, boy, they marked him at
the forty. He got down at the thirty nine yard line,
and they mark him down at the at the forty
yard line. I mean no, I'm telling you, oh, they're
getting h I don't know how I mean over the
(48:59):
forty yard line down to the thirty nine and they
mark it at the forty. It'll be third down and
four should be about a third and three here out
of the shotgun Cooper c J. Johnson is the loan
back to the left. Bulldogs will need the thirty six
for the first down. CJ gets the handoff. CJ spins
(49:20):
his way down to the first down marker and he
should have it. We'll see though he's at the thirty
six and well of wait, it is a first down
Lambert transfer in storage. First down eight and fifty one
to play here in the second quarter. Good drive going
so far. Power football coach McCracken.
Speaker 6 (49:36):
Right now, this is exactly what we've got to have.
Speaker 4 (49:40):
On the front here of Hewett.
Speaker 3 (49:42):
Trust will not their strength, and you feel like the
big physical line Opallika has with those three hundred pounders
up front, can can win some battles tonight. Absolutely, And
now we got another stoppage in play. White Hat talking
to one of the Opal Lake alignment and Darius Whidlow
have it to come out of the game for some reason,
and looks like here Mason will check in in his
(50:05):
place first and ten at the thirty six of Hewett.
Trustful Bulldog's moving from right to left I formation again
here for the Bulldogs. Wit Cooper out of the eye,
hands the ball of CJ. Bouncing outside. CJ down the
sidelines inside the thirty hen he's out of bounds it
around the twenty eight yard line. That's close to eight
yards on that run by c J. Johnson eight fourteen
(50:28):
Power of football here by the Bulldogs. They'll mark him
down at the twenty nine yard line. Of course, they
will raging down in three I formation again here for
the Bulldogs, Hammer and CJ. It's the Johnson and Johnson
I formation and Wit Cooper under center. Cooper gets the snap,
(50:54):
hands off, goes to CJ, runs into his line, bounces
at left, and now CJ going to be down around
the twenty eight yard line. Just a one yard pick
up there. Good job defensively there by Hewett, Trustfold.
Speaker 6 (51:07):
What they're two downs on?
Speaker 1 (51:11):
Van?
Speaker 6 (51:11):
Oh yeah, no, oh yeah, this is third and two.
Speaker 3 (51:15):
Coach Bryan Moore right there on the first down marker,
seeing it is a third and two coming up here
for the Bulldogs.
Speaker 2 (51:21):
Just go Corvin Fiers, Jumy Dillard, Isaiah Howe, Darius Winlow
bringing on boys.
Speaker 3 (51:27):
Seven fourteen to play here in the second quarter a
Dogs trail seven three and a third and two coming
up here for the Bulldogs with Cooper hands the ball
off to see Blake Johnson. He's gonna be stopped. Pick
up about a half a yard. You gonna be fourth
in short coming up here for the bulldogs'll be fourth
and about two. He gave me a yard, now I
(51:48):
did he ain't get I got it yo ask Gonna
be fourth and one, six forty eight clock continuing to
run here in the second quarter, I formation again here
for the Bulldogs wit Cooper under center Johnson and Johnson
again the I formation here. Dogs need to get inside
(52:09):
the thirty seven yard line for a first down line
of scrimmage right now, just inside about the thirty eight
quick hand off too by Johnson. He's got the first
down and then some. He's pushing the pile down close
to the twenty yard line. They're gonna mark him down
at around the twenty one yard line. A Lambert transfer
and Stewards first down for the big fella hammer time
(52:30):
in Hue and trustful, here you go.
Speaker 6 (52:32):
We might write a song about that one day.
Speaker 3 (52:35):
That's right, all right, let's go only thanks saving the
Hewitt trustful Huskies right now is a little prefab concrete
on that offense, on that defensive line.
Speaker 2 (52:43):
Got six juniors in there, six seniors, four juniors and
a tenth grader.
Speaker 3 (52:49):
And that be your quarterback. That's cot line of scrimmage.
Is the twenty two yard line actually for the Bulldogs.
First down and ten and off to CJ right side.
CJ's inside the twenty and CJ's down close to the
sixteen yard again. Yeah, they blow that whistle though, and
he's down to the seventeen at six, isn't it should
(53:12):
be five? Second down and five coming up here for
the Bulldogs. They mark it down at the seventeen yard line.
Speaker 4 (53:22):
It will be.
Speaker 3 (53:25):
Second and five coming up here for the Bulldogs. Five
twenty two. Great drive. It's been ground and pound. Now
the Bulldogs will go out of the shotgun.
Speaker 6 (53:31):
It's gonna be a quick game.
Speaker 5 (53:34):
C J.
Speaker 4 (53:34):
Johnson the tailbag.
Speaker 3 (53:35):
Bulldogs try to spread things out now, Blake Johnson comes
back inside. They'll give it to CJ and CJ again
pushing the pile down close to the fifteen yard line.
Speaker 4 (53:45):
So CJ.
Speaker 3 (53:47):
Against two yards and it will be again third down
at about three here for the Bulldogs.
Speaker 4 (53:52):
Third and two.
Speaker 3 (53:56):
Again, four down territory coach McCracken, you gotta feel in
the way this way, this drive has been going third
three and a half.
Speaker 4 (54:04):
Jordan Waits checks in the ball game now with C. J. Johnson.
Speaker 3 (54:06):
Waits is at the wing back position, and it'll be
third and two at the fifteen yard line of Hewitt
trustful the Dogs trailing seven to three with four thirty
four to play here in the first half.
Speaker 6 (54:19):
We've kept the ball about eight minutes, haven't.
Speaker 4 (54:21):
We been a long drive? It sure has.
Speaker 3 (54:25):
Cooper under center and a time out taken here by
the Opalika Bulldogs. We'll step aside time out on the
field for twenty two to play. Been a heck of
a drive for the Bulldogs. Trying to pay it off
here with a third and two when we come back
here on the kicker back here here at Trustball Stadium.
Speaker 4 (54:48):
Big down for the.
Speaker 3 (54:48):
Bulldogs here, third down and three, they'll say on the
scoreboard here.
Speaker 2 (54:54):
Ason Winlow fears Dinard and preaching. I wanna keep calling
you name found boys. Oh with Cooper get him in
the end too. I think it's more of a third
and two. We'll see down at the fifteen regardless though
here on third down, Bulldogs will go I formation here
Cooper under center, and the handoff goes to CJ. And
CJ's wrapped up right at the line of scrimmage. It
(55:15):
will be fourth down for the Bulldogs and the field
goal team will come out here on a fourth end
at two with four to ten to play. An check
that looked like the field goal team was about to
run on the field.
Speaker 6 (55:28):
It didn't make a yard on that one.
Speaker 4 (55:33):
I see the field goal team now will come on
the field. Long drive.
Speaker 3 (55:39):
Hate to come up with just three there. You chewed
up a lot of clock here. The clock continues to
run here three forty seven left. Try to make it
a one point game. Here Reece Beasley inside the right
hash line of scrimmage the fifteen. This will be a
twenty two yard field goal and it is through the
(56:00):
uprights and good scoring drying power by Opal Laca Power Services,
Hometown people working for you. Bulldogs have it a one
point game now down seven to six, So the Hewit
trustful Huskies with three thirty to play here in this
first half, you're listen to Bulldog football here on the kicker.
(56:24):
We got a one point game here at Hewitt trustful stadium,
seven to six, low scoring affair here, three thirty one
to play here in this first half, Coach mc cracking.
One of the things we're talking about on the ride
up here. You said, if we can keep this game
around a seventeen point game with them, we got a
good chance of winning this ball game. Holding them right
now to seven. I know we still got three thirty
one to go here, and Bulldogs will get the football
(56:45):
to start the second half. So if you can, if
you can keep Hewitt trustfill off the scoreboard here, maybe
even get a turnover in a score you get the
football to start the second half.
Speaker 4 (56:54):
That would be huge.
Speaker 3 (56:55):
Yes, sir, this one's gonna be good right at cracking
down on the field with the four seasons Federal Credit
Union sideline report, Mack. I know Bulldogs didn't find the
end zone, but you're in a one point game here
on the road late in this first half.
Speaker 6 (57:09):
Yeah, that's right, got me here, go ahead, Yeah.
Speaker 7 (57:14):
Great call right there, you know, my coach, or to
go for the old you know, like you just said,
now you got to you know, phil goal, you know,
put you to so points on the board. Points, points,
points is the most important thing in a football game,
and you got three, you'd love to have six.
Speaker 6 (57:29):
You know you're going down by one. Try to get
it the ball back before the half's over.
Speaker 10 (57:33):
Now or.
Speaker 3 (57:36):
Here? Yeah, Mac, you try to get the football back. Okay,
you try to okayh.
Speaker 6 (57:42):
He's my son. He can do anything.
Speaker 3 (57:44):
Hey, we're gonna we're gonna run him out their coach.
All right, Reyes Beasley has it ted up. He'll kick
it for right to left, three thirty one left here
in this first half, he trustfull up by one here,
seven to six. It's gonna end over end kick. It
will be field at the three yard line, returnable here
for the Huskies. And wrapped up right at the shy
(58:06):
of the twenty around the nineteen yard.
Speaker 4 (58:07):
Line was CJ. Davis.
Speaker 3 (58:09):
We saw him on the sidelines earlier, but back out
there on the kicking team. There, the sophomore running back,
his father. A lot of people remember Christer Davis. Mister Davis.
He oh, I was at Jorden Hare was a mighty
good one there for the Tigers.
Speaker 6 (58:26):
He's gonna go all the way.
Speaker 4 (58:27):
Auburn's gonna win the game.
Speaker 3 (58:29):
Let's keep son checked up tonight. Though we don't need
to get him running running free.
Speaker 6 (58:33):
I got you, come on, let's go. Gotta stop him
here dogs.
Speaker 3 (58:38):
Shy of the twenty yard line and hew At Trust
will start from their own nineteen yard line. Benedict at quarterback,
hands the ball off in the backfield to city joint
on Que. He stopped right at the line of scrimmage.
No gain on the play. Good stop there by that
Bulldog defense Tremaine Thomas, Braden Howard coming up on the
stop and it will be second down and ten. No
game there, three nine to play here in the first
(59:01):
half of the Huskies. Now they'll spread things out five wide.
Look three to the left, two to the right. Watch
the quarterback draw Benedict's he stays on his feet somehow,
and he's still tripped up and he's in trouble going
down right at the line of scrimmage. Trey Stone was
on the pressure regroup got back there along with little
Keydrick Burts, and they brought him down third down and ten.
(59:23):
Now with two forty four play what Trey Stone got back?
There're so quick, coach, I think he just slipped right by.
Speaker 6 (59:29):
He timed that up just perfect.
Speaker 4 (59:31):
Stone and Bert's still remaining there at the linebacker spot.
Speaker 6 (59:35):
This is a huge play right here.
Speaker 3 (59:37):
Two wide to the left side. Low snow, come on,
Benedict drops back. Want's take another deep shot down Field's
got a receiver there and it's caught at the forty
yard line. Another shot, Dj Hall is there and another
huge play forty one yard throwing catch. Bennedict got enough
time and he didn't sit downfield. And again it's been
that chunking passing game down the heel of the Bulldogs
(01:00:00):
have gotten bid on.
Speaker 4 (01:00:01):
It was an eighty eight yard touchdown earlier. And now
they'll go fast here.
Speaker 3 (01:00:05):
First down inside the forty at the thirty nine, hand
off to the tailbag, trying to bounce it outside. Good running,
hard running by Deuce Austin there before Norman Matthews brings
him down.
Speaker 4 (01:00:16):
But he did a good job.
Speaker 3 (01:00:17):
He was he had nothing there and kept those feet
moving inside the thirty five. He gets it down to
the thirty three. Second down at four coming up here
for the Huskies. We're one forty nine to play now
and off again. This time is Davis broke a tackle
inside the thirty down to the twenty nine. They're a
lot more explosive at times than we are coach on offense.
(01:00:38):
That's the dangerous thing about getting behind a team like this.
Speaker 6 (01:00:41):
Now they make those big plays at we do. We
can't make the big plays down the field.
Speaker 4 (01:00:47):
There's a flag on the play.
Speaker 6 (01:00:49):
Where's this going to be?
Speaker 4 (01:00:50):
It looks like against.
Speaker 6 (01:00:51):
That's that boy's shoes.
Speaker 3 (01:00:54):
Oh, I like a face mask on opal like I
believe it looks like it's going to go against the Bulldogs.
So personal foul face mass two. So that's going to
be a fifteen yard and didn't need that one. It
was close to a first down. It definitely is a
first down now and all the way down to the
fifteen yard line after that penalty. So now Hewitt trustful
(01:01:18):
first and at ten at the fifteen yard line of
Opelakah one forty one to play here in the first half.
Speaker 6 (01:01:24):
Oh, we cannot let them score here.
Speaker 3 (01:01:26):
Now you don't need to, that's for sure. Benedict out
of the shotgun at the fifteen of Opalaika. Low snap again,
gets it to the tailback, who's got a good scene
over here. Hard running from Duce. Austin knocked out shy
of the eleven yard line by Brayden Howard, but he
picks up four yards and he got out of bounds
too and stopped the clock. With one thirty two to play,
(01:01:50):
tek it out of six coming up here for the
Huskies one thirty two to play Benedict again this time
Austin's got to see him up the middle. He's cut
down right at the first down marker at the five.
The bullline defense looks a little gassed here on this drive.
Norman Matthews slow to get up along with Arrest Thomas.
They'll hustle back, but to the first in goal. Huskies
now with one twenty to play here in the first
(01:02:11):
half the part Clark stop one sixteen a time out
taken by coach Brian Moore. I think just to get
his group rested up here to try to come up
with a stop here laid in this first half seven
six Huskies on top but threatening and we're back after
this time out. You're listening to Bulldog football here on
(01:02:31):
the kicker.
Speaker 8 (01:02:32):
W kk R, Auburn Opalika is Leae County's best country
ninety seven point seven kicker FM, and iheard country station.
Speaker 3 (01:02:50):
Hair seven to six Huskies. If you had trustful leading
with one sixteen to play and out of the time
out'll be first in goal. Huskies down at the five
yard line of Opelaika. Benedict quarterback gets it, wants to
run right side. Benedict hit down lunges ahead of the
goal line. He's in for the Hewitt trust will touchdown
with one ten to play here in the first town
(01:03:15):
and on comes Nathan Fritz for the extra point. One
thing Opelika was hoping to do is keep the Huskies
off the scoreboard late here in this first half. Hopeliah
will get the football to start the second half and
the Huskies will look to him.
Speaker 4 (01:03:36):
Put the extra point through. And it is hump and
it is good.
Speaker 3 (01:03:41):
Hewitt Trustful leads by eight with one ten to play
here in this first half, fourteen sixteen. You at trust
for back. After this time out, you'll listen op likea
football here.
Speaker 4 (01:03:50):
On the kicker.
Speaker 6 (01:03:51):
I'm Jessica Samuel.
Speaker 4 (01:03:59):
Back here at Trustful Stadium.
Speaker 3 (01:04:01):
Huskies on time by eight, fourteen to six one tend
to play here in this first half of play. In Alabama,
high school sports is a tradition, whether at home or
on the road, make our schools, our communities, and our
students proud by being a support of fan.
Speaker 4 (01:04:14):
We are counting on you to continue our high school traditions.
Speaker 3 (01:04:17):
Public service message from the Alabama High School Athletic Association. Well,
the Huskies will do a squib kick and the Bulldogs
will let it roll inside the ten yard line, picked
up by a C. J.
Speaker 4 (01:04:30):
Johnson.
Speaker 3 (01:04:31):
Huskies do a good job keeping that to a short
pickup and Bulldogs will have it from their own twenty
four yard line. But just one oh five to work
with here, and the way Bulldogs have like to control
the offense on the run game, not where Opalaika wants
to start. With just a minute to go in the
game here from their own twenty three yard line. I
got a feeling coach coach Brian Moore will be pretty
(01:04:53):
content here to try to get this to the locker room.
Speaker 4 (01:04:55):
But we'll see if do it.
Speaker 3 (01:04:57):
Trustful who I yes has two timeouts, tries to play
a little time out to get the football back here.
If Opelika can't get something going offensively Cooper is out
of the shotgun, he'll bring a man in motion toss
play to CJ. CJ trying to find some running room outside.
Couldn't do it, lost the yard and no time out
(01:05:20):
called on that play by coach Josh Floyd under a
minute to play and Opelika trying to just run the
rest of this first half, clock off and get to
the locker room, make some adjustments. And Opelika wants to
win this football game tonight. Coach is gonna have to
(01:05:40):
have to get a little air game going tonight and
get a little loosened up.
Speaker 4 (01:05:45):
I think on offense a little bit.
Speaker 6 (01:05:47):
Yeah, sir, well we can't get big plays.
Speaker 3 (01:05:51):
Yeah, that's right. Run across the twenty five up to
the twenty six yard line. Jaalen Nelson his first carry
of the game, and we'll be third down man.
Speaker 6 (01:06:02):
Our longest run of the night is eight yards.
Speaker 3 (01:06:06):
Obolaika will not take another snap. That will be the
end of the first half. Oblika will head into the
locker room down by eight tier fourteen to six, and
we'll get Mack McCracken to catch you up with coach
Brian Moore down on the field as the Huskies get
(01:06:26):
ready to take it into the locker room and the
Opelika Bulldogs get ready to head in and Mac I
got you spotted down on the field. So as soon
as you get coach Moore, he's had a couple of
words with the officials as he heads into the locker room.
Speaker 7 (01:06:45):
All right, Max, thanks a lot, coach, War. We knew
it was going to be a war that we're in for.
You know, tell us a little bit what the first
half of what we got.
Speaker 9 (01:06:53):
To do around the second over five We missed opportunities
and we blocked upon We don't scoop and score it,
which is seven five another time inside the US, two
drives in the red zones, all out. We hit field
goals out of it. I mean, at least we did that.
So it's the one score game. But the deal, whole
game is two third longs letting the post get over
our head, which absolutely cannot happen. Man, We understand what's
going to happen there. Right, We're in decent position. At
(01:07:17):
least your mail was we got to get that ball out, man.
That can't happen. That changed this whole ball game.
Speaker 3 (01:07:21):
All right, thanks so much, Matt mccracking down the field
there with coach Brian Moore as they head off into
the locker room. Fourteen to six is where we're at now.
He at trustful with the Lee we come back to
Jason Lee will have some scores from around the area
as we continue here from here at Trustwill Stadium here listen, Nope,
like a Bulldog football here on the kicker. Bulldogs returning
(01:07:41):
the kick to open up the second half and Jacoby
Jackson carries it up around the thirty eight yard line.
So Bulldog should have good veil position here to start
as we open up the second half. Hoes hw at
trustful leading Opelaika fourteen to six eight point ball game
here to start the second half. And Opelika again to
start from their on thirty eight yard line. Cooper out
(01:08:03):
of the shotgun here. On first down, it will be
a hand off.
Speaker 4 (01:08:06):
CJ.
Speaker 3 (01:08:06):
Johnson runs left side and CJ stood up right at
the thirty nine yard line, picks up two yards or
just a yard actually, so it'll be second down in
nine coming up here for the Bulldogs eleven thirty eight.
Coach McCracken, what do you think you want to see here?
For the Bulldogs offensively?
Speaker 2 (01:08:23):
O way, they got to be able to run the
ball consistently and throw the ball a little bit.
Speaker 6 (01:08:27):
Theyhead eight yards passing in the first half.
Speaker 3 (01:08:29):
All right, we'll see some wildcat now. It's Jordan Waits
at quarterback, CJ. Johnson to the right, and now the
Brooke Bulldogs will bring a man in motion and Jordan
faked it left, went back to the left side on
the run himself and going to be stopped at the
line of Scrimmage's going to be third and nine. Nothing
doing there for the offense. And now it'll be third
(01:08:50):
down and nine and he at trust will trying to
get a big stop with Cooper races out on the
field here on this third down, Coach. Only a couple
of completions for the Bulldogs in that first half, right right.
Speaker 6 (01:09:05):
Two completions for eight yards.
Speaker 3 (01:09:08):
Total, third down nine for the Bulldogs, ten forty seven
to play. We're just underway here. In the second half,
Bulldogs bring Blake Johnson in motion. They'll throw a screen
pass out to Jalen Washington, and Jalen is tripped up
right at the forty gets up to around the forty
two yard line, but not enough to break it and
pick up the first town out to be fourth and sixth,
(01:09:29):
and the punting unit comes out for the Bulldogs. But
there is a dog down on the field and that
is big Blake Johnson. When he went in motion, he
just did not look like he was running full speed
and the big fellow slow to get up to Blake
Johnson the injured Bulldog, and Bulldogs will send on the
(01:09:54):
punting team here with a ten thirty two to play
here in the third quarter. Here, I don't know, Coach,
I think they're in safe mode here.
Speaker 6 (01:10:04):
Coach Black, I mean Coach Moore said they've.
Speaker 4 (01:10:07):
Worked on it and it'll be interesting to see when
the right time is for it.
Speaker 2 (01:10:11):
Here.
Speaker 4 (01:10:11):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:10:12):
I don't think they're looking.
Speaker 4 (01:10:13):
They've got a pretty good base defense here.
Speaker 11 (01:10:15):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (01:10:17):
Snap goes to Beasley and a high hanging kick fair
catch called for at the twenty four yard line by
Will Phillips, and that's where the Huskies will start from
there on twenty five yard line, ten twenty one to play.
Defense will have to get a stop here and keep
this an eight point ball game here to start the
(01:10:38):
second half. Now what you wanted by this offense here
to start the second half. We'll get down to mac
McCracken here in just a minute. Find out what the
message was in the locker room. There.
Speaker 6 (01:10:48):
They coming out fast again.
Speaker 3 (01:10:50):
They are five wide. Look here from Benedict out of
the shotgun. Three receivers left and Benedict, a quarterback keeper,
got hit spun his way up to the thirty yard
line there by Benedict, that's not his strength, but he
had a good pick up there up to the thirty
one six yards. Second down in four, so Benedett carries
(01:11:13):
it up to the thirty one yard line. It will
be segging out. In five, they'll say handoff goes to
Austin and due. Austin carries for the first down across
the thirty five up to the thirty eight yard line.
He picks up seven yards on the run and that's
enough for a Husky first down and the Huskies will
(01:11:38):
go quick. First down play is a hand off to CJ. Davis,
breaking tackles. CJ's close to the first down as he
is up close to the forty seven yard line, so
he picks up nine yards right up the first down
again here for the Huskies. Nine to twenty five to play,
and the Husky's on offense and they're rolling and off
(01:12:00):
goes back to.
Speaker 4 (01:12:02):
CJ. Davis. He carries it up to the forty nine.
Speaker 3 (01:12:05):
Didn't need but a yard picked up two and that'll
be a Husky first down near midfield here, Huskies from
there on forty nine with an eight point lead in
with the football near in midfield, they'll have two wide
receivers right, single receiver to the left side, and Benedict
close nap hands the ball off again to the tailback
who was across the fifty down to around the forty
(01:12:25):
eight yard line, Carson Riddle on the stop three yard pickup.
It'll be second down and seven upcoming for the Huskies.
Benedict quarterback checks the sidelines. Bulldogg defense trying to get
some new bodies out on the field here. On this
second down and seven play, Benedict out of the shotgun
(01:12:46):
and wants to play action, steps up of the pocket.
Another deep shot down field again he's gotten the wide
receiver caught inside the ten cuts it at the five touchdown.
Dylan Cope again downfield. This time he had to come
back for the football and the de fence was beat
at the five yard line. He caught it, turned right
and went right into the end zone for the Husky touchdown.
(01:13:08):
And that is a forty eight yard touchdown. Throw and catch.
An eighty eight and a forty eight yard touchdown, both
of them from Zach Benedict to Dylan Cope ain't thirty
one to play here in the third quarter. Nathan Fritz
for the extra point, snap down, and the kick is
up and the kick is good. Twenty one six Huskies
(01:13:32):
with a two possession leave of what feels like a
about a four or five position lead right now where
the Bulldog's offense has been working and all you got
to get something going quick here. Eight thirty one to
play in the third quarter. We're back after this time out.
You're listening to Bulldog football. I'm the kicker. Forty eight
(01:13:57):
yard touchdown from Zach Benedict to Dylan Cope for the
Husky touchdown, and now the Bulldogs on the kick, build
it at the five yard line.
Speaker 4 (01:14:06):
CJ.
Speaker 3 (01:14:07):
Johnson tries to carry it up to the twenty yard line,
got to the twenty and got wrapped up, but still
was able to get up around the twenty two yard
line with a good push there at the end, Bulldogs
will find themselves down here twenty one to six, eight
twenty two and it's a must get drive here for
the Bulldogs offensively.
Speaker 2 (01:14:24):
Yeah, this is the one right here. They got to
come up with points here, I mean a touchdown. They
gonna stay in this game.
Speaker 3 (01:14:35):
Well, Huskies have done a good job. They're saying we're
gonna stop the run if we can. They've Opelika has
had drives today going for the run game. But Opelika
under center here with Cooper, and Cooper gets the snap.
It's a reverse play here to Jalen Washington. Washington running
rim across the thirty in Washington's gonna be up close
(01:14:56):
to the first down marker.
Speaker 4 (01:14:57):
Good designed there by.
Speaker 3 (01:14:58):
The Bulldogs too, try to get a little misdirection run
to a mark shy the first down by a yard
up to the thirty two yard line, so nine yards
on that play there by Jalen Washington on the end
to round reverse second down in one Cooper out of
the shotgun. Loan back is Jordan Waits eight fifteen to
(01:15:23):
play snap. Jordan gets the snap, Jordan across the thirty five,
Jordan across the forty and up to the forty one
yard line.
Speaker 4 (01:15:28):
Good run there by Jordan Waits.
Speaker 3 (01:15:30):
That's a Lambert transfer in storage first down, a nine
yard pickup. But there is a flag on the play.
Wait and see what the call is here. It's like
it may be going against the Huskies on the tackle there.
It is personal found face mask on the Husky, so
(01:15:51):
fifteen yards. Bulldogs needed that and that will mark it
all the way down to the forty four yard line
of Hewett.
Speaker 4 (01:15:59):
Trustil.
Speaker 3 (01:16:01):
Fifteen extra yards moves it into Husky territory down to
the forty four If you wit trustful twenty one six,
you went trustful with the lead. Seven fifty nine left
here in the third, here's wit dropping bag wants to
throw pass near sidelines, caught by Jalen Washington at around
(01:16:23):
the thirty four yard line, and that's going to be
a pick up around ten yards. But there's a flag
on the play in the backfield. Sure if this is
a hit on the quarterback late personal foul? Yeah, roughing
the passer got a hit there on Cooper.
Speaker 6 (01:16:38):
That's fifteen more.
Speaker 3 (01:16:39):
Baker leading Florence thirty one seven score update. That's the
winner of this game. We'll face the winner of that game.
Thank you to mister Youngstrom for that update. Seven fifty
two left here twenty one six. He went trustful with
the lead Bulldogs, though with a couple of big penalties couple.
Fifteen yarder is here on Hewitt trustful and Bulldogs have
(01:17:03):
it down at the twenty yard line. If Hewett was
something going here right.
Speaker 6 (01:17:06):
In here is where we we messed up. We hadn't
been able to get it in there.
Speaker 3 (01:17:16):
Too wide to the right for Cooper out of the
shotgun loan back as Jordan Waits. Waits gets the hand
off straight up the middle. Wakes broke a couple tackles
down close to the sixteen yard line to a good
run there by Jordan Waits. There's an injured player down
on the field too for opal like and a late
flag and thrown after the play. I think that's going
(01:17:37):
to go against Youtt again. An injured player is a
bulldog down on the field, so we'll step aside. You're
a snowball like a bulldog football twenty one six time
out on the field here on the kicker penalty while
(01:17:58):
we was away. Was it sportsmanlike conduct against Hewett? Trustful?
The injured player though, is Jordan Waite's running back, senior
running back who's coming off the field very slowly, being
helped off the field by both trainers, and certainly hope
Jordan is okay. Blake Johnson and C. J. Johnson Now
in the ballgame, I'll check that Jalen Nelson in the
(01:18:18):
ball game. We'll check down Matt McCracken. We'll get an
update on Jordan's status coming up here. But the Bulldogs
after that penalty though, first down and goal now at
the seven yard line. Under center goes with Cooper. It's
a toss play to Nelson and Nelson hit up right
at the line of scrimmage. Again, good defense, helmet off
(01:18:40):
the field and Bennett Young lost his helmet there. Then
it goes to pick the helmet up. Gotta be careful,
you know you can't participate when your helmet comes off.
Bulldogs may be an okay to arm may have dodged
a bullet there.
Speaker 6 (01:18:58):
On that one.
Speaker 3 (01:19:00):
It down and goal from the eight, actually lost the
yard on that play. Nelson remains in the ball game. Yeah,
jayaln Nelson the tail back here for the Bulldogs. Seven
minutes now under seven to go here in the third quarter,
and off to Nelson.
Speaker 4 (01:19:17):
Hit again right at the line of scrimmage. Third down.
Speaker 3 (01:19:23):
Tough sledding, and you gotta kinda come away with some
points here if you're opal like it's four down territory.
Speaker 5 (01:19:30):
C J.
Speaker 3 (01:19:31):
Johnson now checks in the ball game and it's third
down and goal from the eighth, six point thirty one
to play in the third quarter in Dogs trailing hew
at Trustful twenty one to six. Must score drive here
for the Bulldogs, especially where this drive started at around
the twenty eight yard line.
Speaker 4 (01:19:49):
Got it all the way down inside the ten.
Speaker 3 (01:19:51):
Now late guy on here for you at Trustful and
the you trust will trying to run somebody off l
eight Bulldogs didn't see it, didn't snap the ball in time.
Now play act and we have wants to throw towards
the corner. It is camped out of bounds and incomplete.
Tried to get it to Jalen Washington, but they rule
it incomplete around the three yard line. Just led him
(01:20:13):
just a little too much and then you rolled with
to the to the throwing side. But another rough in
the passer on wit Cooper. So again that's another rough
in the passer and that's gonna be an automatic first down.
So at the four yard line. Now first and goal
from the four and again a late hit on the
(01:20:34):
quarterback call.
Speaker 2 (01:20:37):
CJ.
Speaker 3 (01:20:37):
Johnson in the in the game at tailbag. What a
huge call there against the Huskies. First down play Cooper
brings a man in motion, gets the stamped handsed to CJ.
CJ tripped inside the five and he's in the end zone.
Touch down Bulldogs. Six minutes to play in the third
(01:20:58):
and the Bulldogs get in the zone. Here's Reees Beasley
for the extra point twenty one to twelve. Not gonna
go for the two point conversion here with Cooper to
(01:21:19):
hold and Reese Beasley for the extra points. Nap good
and the kick is up and it is good score
and drive power by Opal Laka Power Services, hometown people
working for you.
Speaker 4 (01:21:31):
It's a big penalties on a hit. Trustful along the
way with the Bulldogs. Make them pay.
Speaker 3 (01:21:35):
Twenty one thirteen, six minutes to play in the third
and you're listening Ople like a Bulldog football here on
the kicker.
Speaker 6 (01:21:41):
Listen to Hote with Opalhika powers.
Speaker 4 (01:21:52):
Well.
Speaker 3 (01:21:52):
The Bulldogs marched it down the field and put it
in the zone for the first time tonight, hope alike
can find themselves back down by eight here twenty one
thirteen with six minutes to play.
Speaker 4 (01:22:05):
Here the third quarter, here's Reece Beasley has it teed up.
Speaker 3 (01:22:13):
A couple of big passing plays have been the dagger
Tony Dylan cope An eighty eight yarder and a forty
eight yarder. Nice kick off that was a good one,
end over end that one gets into the back of
the end zone. Very nice kick there by Reese Beasley.
So Dogs defense needs to get a turn over here,
and right man, how about another one of them? Picked
six by Bradon Howard. He's got four interceptions on the season.
(01:22:39):
Dog's down by eight here with six minutes to play
here in the third, twenty one thirteen is our score,
and here's the offense back out for you at trustful
they going to start for their on twenty yard line, Yes, sir.
They hurry to the line of scrimmage as Benedict has
an empty backfield. Now he'll bring in his tail back,
Duce Austin to his left. Out of the shotgun. They'll
(01:23:00):
give it to Austin. He busts through their twenty five thirty,
cuts it outside, dragging defenders with him to the forty
yard line. Tough run there by Austin. Twenty yard pickup
and a first down run for Duce Austin. Tray Stone
or Lake Trick. Birks finally brought him down first down.
(01:23:20):
He would trustfull from their own forty yard line, low
snap miscommunication, the quarterback busted play and he'll be brought
down and lose a yard. Good stime by Terres Thomas
for the Bulldog second down on eleven. That one, he
had just got going too fast on that one. Good
job by the d Then at low snap just threw
everything off on that play.
Speaker 4 (01:23:42):
Twenty one thirteen.
Speaker 3 (01:23:43):
He went with the lead with the football of five
twenty two to play here in the third trustful from
their own thirty nine yard line and the quarterback in trouble.
He's hit, dropped down, sack to the thirty five yard line.
Great job, a good job there by the Bulldog. We
had good coverage on this combat here two Josh Davis,
Terres Thomas on the stop for the Bulldogs, and it
(01:24:04):
will be third down and fifteen. Antonius Peters, Yeah, Antonius
Peters was on that coverage.
Speaker 6 (01:24:11):
Good job. Now here you go Van's third and fifteen.
Speaker 3 (01:24:15):
Yeah, this is where this is where, Hew, it's really
really been tough on these third and longs. Benedette gets
the snap, drops back, throws across the middle, timp to
nearly pick toll.
Speaker 4 (01:24:26):
That was a nice job. Elijah Odin, the linebacker.
Speaker 3 (01:24:28):
Got a hand up on that one, and the Bulldog
defense forces the punt they needed here with four forty
one to play in the third.
Speaker 6 (01:24:34):
All right, having get out there, hurry up, are we up?
Speaker 3 (01:24:36):
Bulldog punt team races out Bulldogs of the thirty five
yard line, awaiting this one. That was a short punt.
Get out of the way of this one, let it
roll and it takes a Bulldog roll back around the
thirty nine yard line, so the Dogs will have good
field position here with four four thirty two to play
here in the third quarterback mccrack in, four seasons, Federal
(01:24:57):
Credit Union signeline report, Mac, I.
Speaker 7 (01:25:00):
Different feel right now, man, after that touchdown right there,
the great job and great stop right there. So let's
see if offensively we go down there gets the points
the momentum that we've.
Speaker 6 (01:25:10):
Been looking for.
Speaker 3 (01:25:13):
Yeah, I agree, Matt, good report there from the sideline
twenty one to thirteen, four seasons, Federal Credit Union Sideline Reports, Tonight.
Speaker 4 (01:25:23):
Twenty one thirteen is our score.
Speaker 3 (01:25:25):
He wit trustful with the league Dogs down by aid,
but no pelakah with the football. Now Dogs when they're
on thirty eight yard line, coop right of the shot
gun hands the ball hover. Here's Jalen Nelson. Good run
Dalen across the fifty and he's down to the Hewit
Trust for forty nine yard line, and that is a
thirteen yard pickup and a first down at the Huit
(01:25:51):
Trust for forty nine yard Life Bulldogs was something going. Now,
well you wait for o Plaika to take that shot
through the air. Opelika hadn't done it yet. Witkoop out
of the shotgun. But good run there by Jalen Nelson.
Speaker 4 (01:26:07):
Cooper. The hand off is to Nelson, hit of the
line of scrimmage, but.
Speaker 3 (01:26:10):
Spins and he's still there, gets all the way down
close to the forty. They'll mark him down at the
forty one yard line, an eight yard pickup.
Speaker 4 (01:26:17):
Great run, Jalen Nelson.
Speaker 3 (01:26:19):
He got hit at the line of scrimmagee fun to
his left and picked up seven yards.
Speaker 6 (01:26:25):
You know, he is the fastest kid on our team
as far speed goes.
Speaker 3 (01:26:29):
They had a fifty seven yard run in two weeks
ago in that game against Carver, which was a big one,
Yes sir, second out in three for the Bulldogs at
the forty two. Now if you at trustful three thirty
three to play here in the third quarter, Cooper out
of the shot gun. Jalen Nelson still in the ball game.
A couple of good runs. He lines up to the left.
(01:26:50):
Now they'll bring Blake Johnson in motion from right to left.
Cooper throws a screen pass out to Washington, who's got
the first down, and Jalen is down to the thirty
five yard line for a yard pick up. It's a
Lambert transfer and storage first down with three twelve to
play here in the third.
Speaker 2 (01:27:06):
Pretching Dillard fears Winlow and Eric Mason up front.
Speaker 5 (01:27:13):
C J.
Speaker 3 (01:27:14):
Johnson out checks of the ball game for Opalaika. Blake Johnson,
who was a little gimpy earlier, is back in the ballgame.
Blake moves over to the left side here on this
first and ten play at the thirty five of Hewitt trustful,
they'll give it a c. J. Johnson trying to find
the outside. J broke a tackle, stayed on his feet.
(01:27:34):
See J gonna get to around the thirty three yard line.
Not much there, just a couple of yards. Hewitt Trussell
is so good on the back end of their defense.
Their linebackers are really good too. Denarius Crawford number four,
one of their better linebackers, and of course Parker Floyd
that we saw play quarterbacks some. He's the coaches son
back there, number zero.
Speaker 6 (01:27:56):
I'm on with Cooper.
Speaker 3 (01:27:58):
Second down eight for the offense at the thirty three
of Hewitt trustful, stopagen play for a moment. Opelikah checks
the sidelines. Cooper out of the shotgun. He'll have a
receiver to the left and the right, Jalen Nelson, all right,
(01:28:18):
Jaalen Washington rather to the right, Andre Van to the left.
Now they'll bring a man in motion, that's CJ. They'll
quick toss it inside to Blake Johnson. That one was
defended really good by Hewitt trustful. No gain on the play.
It'll be third and eight for Opelaikah. Under two minutes
to play here in the third. Now, if you are Opelaikah,
(01:28:39):
you want to pick up some to try to give
yourself a shot, maybe in a field goal here with
rehyes Beasiley right now, still too far out for them,
down by eight here with one forty one to play
right now, bulldos just got to come away with some
sort of plains here. Three or seven you'd prefer seven, Well,
(01:29:03):
you'll take the three two wides to the right, single
receiver to the left.
Speaker 4 (01:29:07):
Here on third down, it's a double handoff.
Speaker 3 (01:29:09):
Jalen Washington's got something set up at the thirty and
he's close to the first down marker. But he may
make this a little bit easier here for coach More
to go for it on fourth down, it's going to
be very close to the first down market around the
twenty six yard line. Needs the twenty five for the
first down. I think it's fourth and one yard Yeah,
fourth and one, boy, big one coming up here for Oplaika.
Here at one twenty left in the third, we'll see
(01:29:31):
a new group come in for the Bulldogs.
Speaker 6 (01:29:33):
What you go run here? Van?
Speaker 4 (01:29:35):
Oh, they're kicking the field goal?
Speaker 6 (01:29:37):
Oh they are?
Speaker 3 (01:29:40):
Well, this may be that shift. Maybe trying to get
the first down. Maybe try to kick the field goal.
Here we'll see, oh, snap down and the kick is
wide to the left.
Speaker 4 (01:29:59):
Missed it.
Speaker 3 (01:30:02):
Went for the field goal on fourth and one and
missed it wide to the left. Here with one o
seven to play here in the third, twenty one thirteen,
our score remains and Hewitt trust will comes back out
on the field. You a trustfill didn't even get set
(01:30:23):
I thought they I'm pretty sure they thought something was.
Speaker 4 (01:30:25):
Going on there that they weren't going to even.
Speaker 3 (01:30:28):
Attempt to try to block it. And now the huge
trustful offense comes back out on the field and a
tough one there for the Bulldogs. You have trustful from
their own twenty yard line, had a run play to
the right side and up to the twenty three yard
line for a three yard pickup. Isaiah Gray on the stop.
(01:30:56):
Winding down close to under a minute to go, second
down and seven here for you at trustful five wide.
Look now they bring a man in motion. Davis goes
from right to left. They'll throw a screen here near side.
It is complete, but defended nicely by the Bulldogs. That
was Jamel Griffin on the stop. Really good play there
by the Bulldog defense as they wrapped up DJ Hall.
(01:31:17):
And it'll be third down coming up here for the Huskies.
Speaker 6 (01:31:20):
Good job you maail, big, big down right.
Speaker 3 (01:31:24):
Here in some new troops here on third down, the
third down and seven now under thirty seconds to play
here in the third quarter in an eight point game,
you trust will leading twenty one to thirteen. Which jump
and a flag on the play Opelaika jumped off side.
It's gonna be five three yards. It'll make this a
(01:31:49):
third and two. So Baul now moves up to the
twenty eight yard line, and I believe you at Trust
was going to take this to the fourth quarter for
under ten to play. Got down to five, down to four,
(01:32:12):
head to the fourth quarter here at you at Trust
Will a eight point game. Who at Trust Will leads
twenty one thirteen, and you're listening opal like a Bulldog
football here on the Kicker Light Show here at You
at trust Will Stadium, twenty one thirteen. The Huskies with
(01:32:34):
a eight point lead to start the fourth quarter, and
it may be the play of the game coming up
here to start the fourth quarter to be a third
and two for the Huskies as the Bulldogs try to
get a stop and get the football back on off
sides penalty on the Bulldogs made this third and seven
a little bit easier though for the Huskies.
Speaker 4 (01:32:50):
But Bulldogs with an.
Speaker 3 (01:32:52):
Opportunity there late in the third quarter as Oplanka was
going down. Bulldogs had a fourth and one, attempted to
field goal and missed the field goal to the left,
and you know one of those head scratching call. I'm
sure you go back at a lot and you know
Coach Moore, and I'm sure that coaching staff will go, boy,
should we have or should we not have? That'll be
(01:33:12):
one that may haunt them, but hopefully not. Coach will
just come back and get a stop football and go
down and then it'll just be a distant memory.
Speaker 2 (01:33:18):
We got a whole quarter, and listen, our defense has
done a decent job this half of stopping them.
Speaker 6 (01:33:26):
We're giving them one touchdown. I got twenty one points.
Speaker 2 (01:33:32):
I think we talked about if we could hold them
to seventeen, we'd have a chance.
Speaker 3 (01:33:39):
Yeah, I agree, And coach will right there, right there
in that ballpark at least right now twenty one thirteen.
Whit trustful leading by eight, and here's that big third
and two to start the fourth quarter we talked about.
Trustful will be from there on twenty eight yard line.
You at trustful from there on twenty eight deuce awso
will be the band to watch out for. Here the
tailbacks two hundred and ten pound Kentucky commit the go.
(01:34:03):
It'll go up to the left of a Benedict out
of the shotgun here and it'll be a quarterback keeper
left side. He got the first down and then some
he gets all the way up to the thirty eight
yard line. Benedict does fix up close to ten yards
on that run. It'll be a first down for the Huskies.
(01:34:24):
Ben Adict out of the shot gun, going fast here
from his own thirty eight yard line. They'll hand it
off to Austin to pull down shy of the forty
yard line. Nice play there by Norman Matthews storm and Norman,
as coach Massey calls him, and he stormed in there
and cut him down for a pickup of one. Great
tackle down at the thirty nine yard line. Just to
pick up of one there on the play. It'll be
(01:34:45):
second down and nine.
Speaker 6 (01:34:47):
Well, I love to get a turnover right here.
Speaker 3 (01:34:49):
It'd be nice two wide left, single receiver to the
right side, and you have trust Will trying to say
bulldogs went on across the line.
Speaker 6 (01:34:58):
Oh yeah they didn't. I didn't.
Speaker 3 (01:35:01):
Second down play here for Benedict out of the shotgun,
pressure coming from the Bulldogs.
Speaker 4 (01:35:05):
He gets it away. It is picked off by the
Bulldogs down.
Speaker 3 (01:35:07):
The sidelines inside the twenty, inside the fifteen and knocked
out of bounds of the fifteen yard line.
Speaker 4 (01:35:13):
That was Braden Howard.
Speaker 3 (01:35:14):
Again, mister pick six almost had him one, but he
gets the Bulldogs down at the fifteen yard line. Howard
that interception of the season. Here we go, hop like
the folks. Here we go and once again that's just
what we needed. Dogs down at the fifteen of Hewett. Trustful,
(01:35:34):
come on with Cooper.
Speaker 2 (01:35:35):
Get this funching end zo let's go well on the
fifteen yard line.
Speaker 3 (01:35:40):
Boy, I thought he almost had that pick six. He
had the sidelines just couldn't get enough. But he's down
at the fifteen now, Hople like a pack with the
football one oh one to play here in the game.
Dogs down by eight twenty one thirteen. Cooper with his
eefence out on the field.
Speaker 7 (01:35:59):
CJ.
Speaker 3 (01:35:59):
Johnson the tack. Jordan Wait's out of the game now
with an injury. His night is done, we have been
told and it's a lay a game. On Opalaiko. We
had to be a five yard penalty as Opelaika was
late getting the offense out on the field getting set
and that'll back the Bulldogs up to the back to
(01:36:19):
the twenty yard line. So a tough penalty there on Opalaiko.
Speaker 6 (01:36:25):
We can't have those kind of penalties.
Speaker 3 (01:36:27):
Come on, same formation again. Cooper out of the shotgun.
They'll fake it. Nope, they'll give it here near Sy
and Washington slipped down. It'll be a loss of four
back around the twenty four yard line. Believe there's a
flag on the play. Are either all or no?
Speaker 4 (01:36:47):
There is a flag? Maybe another flag on a Hewitt
trust will player here.
Speaker 6 (01:36:54):
It looks like that point in the ward opli like, yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:36:56):
That's the coaching staff from Hewett. Cut the on number
three Hayden Chavin. Now personal foul on Opalika, so it'll
be a fifteen yard penalty on Opalaika. Boy Opalikah had
it down to the fifteen yard line. Now Bulldogs are
gonna be back all the way up now to the
(01:37:18):
thirty nine yard line. Drive killer there and it will
be second down now, but sec it down in twenty nine.
Speaker 4 (01:37:34):
After a loss on the play and then a penalty.
Speaker 3 (01:37:37):
Now bring Washington motion from left to right, Cooper play
action drops back, nobody opened down field, went rolls to
the right. Now throws at the last minute and it.
Speaker 4 (01:37:46):
Is halting and caught it the twenty one yard line.
Speaker 3 (01:37:49):
Nice snag by Jalen Washington as he comes down with
it at the twenty one yard line.
Speaker 4 (01:37:53):
And I'll make it.
Speaker 3 (01:37:54):
Now about a third and fifteen coming up here for
the Bulldogs. Boy, what a snag by Jalen one up
top high came down with that one. Bulldogs needed that
ten twenty six to play eight point ball game.
Speaker 6 (01:38:08):
At least.
Speaker 3 (01:38:08):
Now you made yourself in field goal range, even if
you can't pick up the first down here, yep, Cooper
with a hard count trying to get the Huskies to jump.
They were able to get back across the line though,
third down and sixteen at the twenty one yard line,
of you at trustful and off to CJ. Johnson, CJ.
(01:38:31):
Spence his way down at the fifteen yard line, and
it's a push lape. They'll blow the whistle right there
at the fifteen yard line. And now they'll call back
on Reese Beasley missed one earlier.
Speaker 6 (01:38:43):
Bason if easily needs to make this one.
Speaker 2 (01:38:45):
Now it's a thirty yarder right here, twenty five, Yeah,
thirty yarder.
Speaker 3 (01:38:56):
Believe there's an injured player down there is for the
Huskies if you at trust so Huskies with an injured player.
So we'll step asaud time out on the field there
twenty one thirteen Bulldogs will attempt a field goal. We
come back with nine thirty eight to play here at
the ballgame at you at trust Will Stadium. You're listening
to Bulldog football on the kicker nine forty three to
(01:39:21):
play here in the ballgame, and Reese Beasley back out
on the field to attempt a field goal. This will
be from the fifteen yard line. Yeah, thirty two yarder
here for Reese from the right hash right footed kicker.
We'll have to pull it a little bit to the
left here, high snap, got it down and that kick.
Speaker 4 (01:39:42):
Looks like it's good.
Speaker 11 (01:39:43):
It is.
Speaker 4 (01:39:44):
It's good.
Speaker 3 (01:39:44):
Big kick there makes it a five point ball game
here twenty one sixteen and nine twenty four to play.
That score and drive power by opal Laka Power Services
Hometown People working for you online and oplelikapower dot Com.
You're listening to bulldog football here on the kicker, Braden
(01:40:09):
Howard gets his fifth interception, He sets up a Reese
Beasley field goal, and Reese knocks through a thirty two
yard field goal to make this a five point game
here with nine to twenty four to play.
Speaker 4 (01:40:20):
Twenty one sixteen.
Speaker 3 (01:40:21):
Husky's on top though, and Reese has it teed up,
getting ready to kick from right to left and pulled
on defense, hoping they can come out and get another
stop here against a very dangerous Husky offense. Reece has
it teed up, getting ready to kick from right to left.
(01:40:44):
Pries walks up, puts a high end, over end kick,
and we'll get into the end zone and away from CJ.
Davis where he's unable to return it. So the Huskies
will start first and ten from their own twenty yard
line here, nine to twenty four to play here at
you at trustfull Stadium, here in trustful tonight been a
(01:41:06):
great venue for this one.
Speaker 11 (01:41:10):
Not a.
Speaker 3 (01:41:14):
Best stadia. Leading now twenty eight twenty four over Auburn
and a tight one there.
Speaker 6 (01:41:21):
They got nobody in the backfield.
Speaker 3 (01:41:24):
You at Trustful will go Benedict out of the shotgun here.
Now he'll bring a tail back behind him here as
they work from their own twenty yard line. On first down,
there will be a handoff and again, good job defensively
there for the Bulldogs. They hold him up to out
a two yard pick up up to the twenty two
old offensive front there for the Bulldogs, making a nice stop.
(01:41:47):
Nine oh seven to play here in this fourth quarter,
twenty one sixteen You at trustful with the five point lead.
Speaker 6 (01:41:53):
All right, we got some These are huge dawns right here.
Speaker 3 (01:41:59):
Seck it down and eight coming up here for the
trustful Hewitt trustful Huskies. Ben Adict with three receivers now
to the right side as he brings his back in motion,
Bendict in trouble. He's pressured in the backfield and he
gets down sack backing around the seventeen yard line. That
(01:42:20):
was a big sack by Jay Holloway, his first sack
of the season and a big one there, and it
sets up a third and fourteen coming up here for
the Huskies.
Speaker 6 (01:42:29):
Yes, Sir JV and Hollyway, he's a tenth grader.
Speaker 3 (01:42:35):
Brayden Howard covering Dylan Cope, who's been the go to
guy on these third and longs. It's third and thirteen
officially now with eight thirteen to play in the game,
Hewitt trustful from their own seventeen yard line. Drop back
sets up a screen down the sidelines and he's brought
down sih of the twenty five yard line and I
stopped by Jamil Griffin. It is fourth down and seven
(01:42:57):
and the.
Speaker 4 (01:42:57):
Punt team runs on here for the Bulldogs.
Speaker 3 (01:43:03):
Back to punt, Dane askins, he rolls here to the
near side, puts a boot into this one and a
fair catch called for there by the Bulldogs coming down
with that as Andre van so Opelika gets the football
back down five with seven forty four.
Speaker 4 (01:43:17):
To play and Opelika at their own.
Speaker 3 (01:43:21):
Right at their on thirty nine yard line, should be
the starting field position. Mat McCracken, Bulldog offense, time to
step up.
Speaker 7 (01:43:29):
Here we go boys, that was a great stop right there. Look,
we got all the momentum here. Let's continue in a
good drive and we got to get us a touchdown boys.
Speaker 3 (01:43:36):
Four seasons Federal Credit UNI Sideline report with Mac McCracken.
As we come to you from the Orthopedic Clinting Broadcast
Booth East Allamama's go to center for Orthopedic care. Five
point game here, seven forty four and Bulldog's back with
the football. Opalaika from their own thirty nine yard line
with Cooper out of the shotgun with play action drops back,
takes a deep shot down field and it is tipped
(01:43:58):
around and I think what at the thirty five yard line.
Jalen Washington comes down with it at the thirty four
a Lambert transfer in storage first down. What a huge play,
a huge throwing catch and the Bulldogs get it all
the way down twenty seven yards for that Lambert transfer
in storage first down inside the thirty five of the
(01:44:19):
thirty four A Hewitt trustful. What a passer went Cooper
trusting his senior wide receiver Jalen Washington. First and ten
at the Hewitt trustful thirty four shot gun stamped the
hand of to CJ. Head at the line of scrimmage.
C EJ loses a half a yard back around the
thirty five yard lot. Not much push there on that play.
Speaker 6 (01:44:42):
Come on, guys, we can't have any more plays like that.
Speaker 3 (01:44:44):
Now under seven to go, Jalen Nelson, Now we'll check
in the ball game. As we mentioned earlier, Jordan waits
out of the game right now with an injury. So
Nelson now the tailback here for the Bulldogs. That will
be second down in ten. They say no loss on
the play for the Bulldogs. Cooper out of the shotgun,
(01:45:06):
quit drops back, throws one out in the flask down
the sidelines, and they say he stepped out of bounds
right at the twenty seven yard line.
Speaker 4 (01:45:17):
So it'll be a third and three coming up here
for the Bulldogs.
Speaker 6 (01:45:25):
Two downs. Old Flock stopped.
Speaker 3 (01:45:29):
Six twenty two to play here in the game. He
had Trustful leading by five clock starts well, they ticked
one second off the clock. Guy formation here for the Bulldogs.
Three yards needed for the first down inside the thirty
down at the twenty seven yard line. They'll give it
(01:45:52):
to Blake Johnson. Johnson pushes the pile down close to
the twenty five yard line. They marked him down at
the twenty inside the twenty five down around the twenty four,
so he's gonna be very close to the first down. Hey,
you got a first down? Yeah, Lambert transferred starts first down.
What a push by Blake Johnson. Boy, Josh Floyd coaching
(01:46:12):
you had Trustful didn't like the spot, but I said
it is a first down, too bad, mister Floyd. That's right,
that's right, mister Floyd. Here we go send him a
thank you card. Down to the twenty four yard line,
first and ten, Opelaika. Time for that ground and pound game.
Speaker 6 (01:46:29):
Let's go.
Speaker 4 (01:46:31):
Hand the ball off Nelson right side.
Speaker 3 (01:46:34):
Nelson down close to the twenty one and they'll mark
him down at the twenty two though two yards on
the play, five point forty one left in the game,
five point lead here for you at Trustful Bulldog Football,
and they'll say he picked up just two yards second
down to eight.
Speaker 6 (01:46:55):
Come on, come on, wit, make something happen.
Speaker 3 (01:47:00):
Bulldogs down if it's twenty two, if you had trustful,
it brings a man in motion. Cooper drops back, throws
one deep in the end zone, back corner, going up
top down and get it. Touchdown Bulldogs. Touchdown, Bulldogs. What
a catch in the back corner of the end zone.
Sail in Washington went over to he had trustful Huskies.
(01:47:21):
Touchdown Bulldogs. Holy smokes, what a snag.
Speaker 6 (01:47:27):
What a throw?
Speaker 3 (01:47:28):
Twenty two yard touchdown, snag in the back corner of
the end zone. Touchdown Dogs. Hopefully up by one. They'll
line up to go for two here with five eleven
left in the game.
Speaker 6 (01:47:41):
What a throw with.
Speaker 4 (01:47:42):
Cooper, What a catch?
Speaker 3 (01:47:43):
Jam in Washington, What a game, Joe Wash back corner
of the end zone. Here comes in a very important
two point play. And now coach Brian Moore, I believe.
Speaker 6 (01:47:58):
Your time out.
Speaker 4 (01:48:01):
All right?
Speaker 3 (01:48:01):
He coach more wants to change the hash here. But
now they get the play in play clock. Now starts
at twenty five two point conversion coming up here for
the Bulldogs, opal like it leads by one. Twenty two
twenty one, five eleven to play, Cooper brings a man
in motion, wh It gets the stamp inside tossed to
(01:48:21):
Blake Gison, Jake spending this way down close to the
goal line, and Hewitt Trustful comes up with the stock
good play design. They're getting to the Blake Johnson, but
the good defensive play and Hewitt Trustful stops the Bulldogs
and it's a one point lead for the Bulldogs though
twenty two twenty one here at hew at Trustful Stadium.
Speaker 4 (01:48:39):
That's score and drive power by opal.
Speaker 3 (01:48:41):
Laca Power Services hometown people working for you online at
oplelakapower dot com. Back after this time out here, I'm
the kicker. One of the biggest rules we've seen Opelika
make in a long time. Cooper a twenty two yard
(01:49:01):
touchdown strike in the back corner and double coverage two
to get it to Jalen Washington. I want to throw
Coach McCracken. I want to grab there by Jalen in
the back corner of the end zone. Bulldogs up by one.
They missed the two point conversion.
Speaker 6 (01:49:14):
I told you when Cooper has lit up this team.
Speaker 4 (01:49:17):
Man, Yeah, he made some plays when he needed to.
Speaker 3 (01:49:19):
Twenty to twenty one and one point lead here for
the Bulldogs, but we got five eleven left. Defense has
got to come up with a stop. There's a line
drive kick out of the back of the enzone all
and the huit trustful Huskies will start from their on
twenty yard line with five eleven left in the game.
Speaker 6 (01:49:36):
Oh, I'm gonna talk about one uh hut. Trust with
a second.
Speaker 2 (01:49:41):
When you get in a situation like this and you're
a player or a coach and you're it's like, I
don't know whether we can come back or not.
Speaker 6 (01:49:50):
Do you know what I mean? Here we go.
Speaker 3 (01:49:56):
So here's Hewitt, trustful Zat Benedict out of the shotgun.
He's got three receivers to the right, shine cornerback paper
as a sables, a scramble for it, and a cell
of the ground. Bulldogs pick it up down at the.
Speaker 4 (01:50:07):
One yard line. He a trustful comes up with it
at the one yard line.
Speaker 3 (01:50:11):
Bulldogs almost got the call of safety, and safety he
would trustful fell on the end zone.
Speaker 4 (01:50:17):
It's a safety that the Bulldogs will get.
Speaker 6 (01:50:19):
The football back. What a play, What a play by
the Bulldogs.
Speaker 4 (01:50:24):
Pandemonium and you at Trustful Stadium, twenty four to twenty one.
Speaker 3 (01:50:29):
Five bull one to play a safety and the Dogs
will get the ball back. Oh gosh, fumble, scramble for
it and he at Trustful comes down with in their
end zone, tackled for a safety.
Speaker 6 (01:50:42):
And I love the play. I love the way they're
coming off the field. You had Trustful with the helmets
and stuff, you know, got that little pout and going on.
Here we go.
Speaker 2 (01:50:54):
Oh man, my friend Jack Wood, I love you, son,
I love you, but I sure do want to beach tonight.
Speaker 4 (01:51:02):
What they play by this Bulldog defense. That was pressure in.
Speaker 3 (01:51:06):
On the quarterback right out of the gate and the
ball came loose, so scramble for it and it shot
all the way into the end zone. He went Trustful
tackled in their end zone and a huge safety. It's
twenty four to twenty one and now Opelaika, we'll get
the football back. That's the big thing here.
Speaker 6 (01:51:24):
Now they have to punt it, don't they.
Speaker 3 (01:51:26):
You can put our kid kick it on our kick,
but they'll have to kick it to Opelaka. Here with
five o one to play, you went trustable with all
three timeouts. O Plaika all three timeouts as well.
Speaker 6 (01:51:40):
Man.
Speaker 2 (01:51:40):
When I was at I was watching YouTube and Pat
I was talking about this. He said, hey, you're a
football You never know where a football is going to
bounce because the way it is. He said, just hey,
just keep playing hard, play sixty minutes and see what happens.
Speaker 3 (01:51:58):
Adrian Yant, So hope you're doing well home watching and
listening to this one tonight.
Speaker 6 (01:52:03):
Now, they wouldn't try on side kick here?
Speaker 5 (01:52:05):
Would that? They?
Speaker 4 (01:52:06):
They might, They're probably gonna swip it here.
Speaker 6 (01:52:08):
Well they don't.
Speaker 4 (01:52:09):
They down by three banks.
Speaker 3 (01:52:11):
Floyd s getting ready to kick this one off and
from the safety it'll kick from the twenty and he
will kick a short kick.
Speaker 4 (01:52:19):
Opelika will field it at the twenty nine yard line.
Speaker 10 (01:52:21):
This is c J.
Speaker 3 (01:52:22):
Johnson broke a tackle. CJ cross the fifty, c J
at the forty five. CEJ in the side the thirty
five and CJ's down to the thirty one yard line.
Speaker 4 (01:52:29):
I want a big return by c J. Johnson.
Speaker 3 (01:52:32):
And now the Bulldog crowd on their feet as the
Opelaika crowd comes alive. The Bulldog's coming off the field,
hands in the air telling the crowd to get up,
and Opelika's offense comes out, and boy, a big touchdown
here would be huge. With four fifty two to play
in this game. As Opelikah leads at twenty four to
twenty one.
Speaker 6 (01:52:54):
It ain't over till it's over. No, some more guys.
Speaker 3 (01:52:57):
Dogs down to the thirty one a Hewet trustful on
the road here at Husky Stadium.
Speaker 2 (01:53:03):
Pritchet, Dillard, Fears, Whitlow, and Mason, I'm gonna keep calling
you names out.
Speaker 3 (01:53:08):
Well, if Cooper out of the shotgun, they'll bring Washington
in motion from left to right. Jalen Nelson cut down
in the backfield stop for no gain at the thirty
one yard line. Well, you really want a touchdown here,
(01:53:30):
even if you have to kick a field goal, you
still just make it a six point ball game.
Speaker 2 (01:53:35):
That defensive end came in there and made that tackle.
Then we didn't cut him off.
Speaker 3 (01:53:41):
Opelika letting some clock run down here for twenty six.
But Blake Johnson is the tail buyer, the blocking back
to the left of Cooper out of the shotgun. Now
I'll move over to the right Jalen Nelson stays in
there at the tail back to the right. Two wide
receivers to the right. Nelson gets the handoff out of
(01:54:01):
boy J. Nelson with a good run down close to
the twenty six yard line.
Speaker 9 (01:54:07):
C J.
Speaker 3 (01:54:07):
Johnson, Now we'll check in the ball game. Is you
at Trustful? Will take a time out here with four
oh one left in the game. That is their first
time out of the second half. Twenty four to twenty one.
A big third and five for Opelaika. When play resumed
after this time out, you listen to Bulldog football.
Speaker 4 (01:54:24):
Here on the kicker.
Speaker 3 (01:54:32):
Opelikah Bulldogs four to oh one away if they can
hold on here at you at Trustful Stadium, twenty four
to twenty one. Right now Opelikah with the lead, Dogs
with the football and it'll be third and five at
the Husky twenty eight yard line. Big third down here
coming up for Opelikah and out of the timeout with Cooper,
(01:54:54):
we'll be an empty backfield here. One wide receiver to
the right, to receiver to the left.
Speaker 6 (01:55:00):
That's c J.
Speaker 3 (01:55:01):
Johnson, lind up as a wide receiver to the left side.
Now they'll bring CJ in motion and they'll hand it
to CJ. Breaks a tackle inside the twenty five. CJ
lunges down close to the twenty yard line. That's a
first down. Lambord transferring storage first down. That'll move the chains.
What a big run there by CJ. Johnson down to
(01:55:23):
the twenty one yard line. Big time play there by
c J.
Speaker 4 (01:55:27):
Johnson.
Speaker 6 (01:55:29):
We're gonna have a touchdown now, guys, come on.
Speaker 3 (01:55:32):
Two timeouts remain for the Huskies three forty one to play.
Dogs again, leading twenty four to twenty one.
Speaker 4 (01:55:38):
Boy oh boy, that.
Speaker 6 (01:55:39):
Offensive line doing a great job. Let's go boys.
Speaker 3 (01:55:45):
With Cooper out of the shotgun. CJ. Johnson to the right. Cooper,
let's that clock wind on down now. The blockers will
move from left to right, including the hammer. Cooper gets
the snap, hands it to CJ. Expenses way down. Look
at it down to the fifteen yard line. That is
six yards by c J. Johnson. It will be a
(01:56:07):
second down and four and a time out taken by
coach Josh Floyd. Here on the field, Bulldogs three to
zero eight to play. Just one time out left for
coach Floyd and the Huskies. They trail twenty four to
twenty one and it'll be second down and four. Mac McCracken.
Hire things down there on the sidelines. A little bit
different field there on the Bulldogs sideline now.
Speaker 7 (01:56:28):
Right, Yeah it is they know, hey, listen, they know
fall control, power football, pull like a Just continue to
run that rock. No need to speed up the offense.
Stay with about two seconds to go in the play clock.
Just get you one, get you another first down here,
but just keep powering that offul and run it up.
Speaker 6 (01:56:46):
Pull like a style.
Speaker 4 (01:56:47):
Max sounds out of breath, coach. We need to let
him alone.
Speaker 7 (01:56:50):
I think he Mac get Prescott over there with you, man,
don't I can't find him.
Speaker 3 (01:56:56):
Oh yeah, hey, Kenny might need to just close his
eyes for the record for the last little bit of
this one. Here thirty four to thirty one vesth Staviia
with the lead as they just knocked a field goal
to break up the tie there in Auburn. Here it
is twenty four to twenty one Oblaika with a three
point lead over Hewit Trustful and the Bulldogs a second
and four at the fifteen yard line off Hewitt, trustful.
(01:57:19):
Jayalen Nelson back in the ball game at running back.
A big shift by Hewitt trustful. They're loading the box
and they're gonna say a false start on Opelaka. Boy,
it sure didn't look like anybody moved, but that will
back things up five yards. Opalaika will get a substitution
(01:57:41):
there on the offensive line. That was a second down
in nine coming up.
Speaker 6 (01:57:48):
Now we've been doing that against.
Speaker 3 (01:57:51):
The down to the twenty yard line after that penalty,
and it will be second down to nine here for Opelaikah.
Another shift here by Hewitt, trustful, trying to bring the
pressure and off goes to Nelson.
Speaker 4 (01:58:04):
Nelson brother. Hey, let's say the twenty Nelson inside the fifteen,
he's down to the ten. That should be enough for
a first down.
Speaker 3 (01:58:10):
This first down Bulldogs, Lambert transfer and storage, first.
Speaker 4 (01:58:13):
Down on a huge run by Jalen Nelson, the junior.
Speaker 6 (01:58:17):
I'm as good as I've ever seen Jalen run.
Speaker 3 (01:58:21):
One one time out left for the Huskies here, two
fifty three to play and the clock continues to run.
Speaker 4 (01:58:27):
Just one time out left for coach Josh Floyd and
these Huskies.
Speaker 3 (01:58:32):
A touchdown here would just about put this game on
ice two forty to play. Jalen Nelson still remains a
tailback here for the Bulldogs. It will be an I
formation right at the ten yard line of Hewitt trustful.
They'll give it to Blake Johnson. Blake Johnson down for
(01:58:52):
a yard maybe two, down to the eight yard line.
Speaker 6 (01:58:55):
All right.
Speaker 3 (01:58:57):
The clock will continue to run down to eighteen to play.
I sure want to find the end zone though, coach
too Van twenty four to twenty one. Opelaka with the lead, Opelaika,
trying to run this clock down to two o six,
down to two o four. Bulldog's huddling up here, play
(01:59:17):
clock down to fifteen, down to fourteen. Bulldogs will break
the huddle from the eight yard line. I formation again
here for the Bulldogs. Nelson the tailback. Cooper gets the snap,
hands it to Nelson. Nelson headed the line of scribbage,
lost the yard back to the ten.
Speaker 4 (01:59:37):
Lost two.
Speaker 3 (01:59:38):
Actually, it'll be third down and a timeout taken by
Hewitt trustful, and it'll be third and ten for the Bulldogs.
Opel I can get a first down right at the
one by a time out on the field. We'll take
a time out with them, you let's knowe like a
bulldog football here on the kicker back here at here
(02:00:07):
at Trustbill Stadium, twenty four to twenty one. Opalakah leading
here with one forty to play, but cracking interesting deal
here for the offense. You know, that's no time outs
left here, so they can't stop the clock anymore.
Speaker 6 (02:00:19):
No, they can't just keep it on the ground here.
Speaker 7 (02:00:21):
If we can just fan, if we can just bust
one here and it'd be nice, are right, the biggest
celebration Opolaca c J.
Speaker 3 (02:00:29):
Johnson the tail back to the right of Wit Cooper.
It'll be third down from the ten, hand off to CJ.
CJ's inside the ten, spending his way down close to
the five yard line. They'll mark him down at the six.
No time out, so one thirty the clock gonna continue
to run, and coach Brian Moore got a feeling here
they don't really have a strong field goal game.
Speaker 4 (02:00:49):
Opalaca may go for.
Speaker 3 (02:00:50):
It here and try to burn every bit of clock
they can here because coach Floyd and the Huskies right
now can't stop the clock. So Opeleakah may may take
a time out here and think about it. It'll be
down to fifty three seconds if our math is correct
here when coach Brian Moore takes a time out here,
(02:01:14):
go ahead, Coach.
Speaker 6 (02:01:15):
Mack go ahead. Are you there, man, I'm here all right? Hey, hey, hey,
what if we don't kick the field goal.
Speaker 9 (02:01:26):
It?
Speaker 6 (02:01:27):
Yeah, go for it? Okay them.
Speaker 9 (02:01:31):
Five?
Speaker 7 (02:01:31):
Yes, correct, and they got it. If you get it here,
you win to you know, no time out, hey, kind
of like last year. You got to get the first
down and win the game. So let's let's see if
we can win it here. I don't think we're kicking
it because Dad, you got a chance of a block,
scoop and score. Yeah, that out the window. We've seen
that happen in your career a lot. So let's just
see if we can get this first down here and
(02:01:54):
then let.
Speaker 4 (02:01:54):
You run every bit of clock you can.
Speaker 3 (02:01:56):
Rightfuly three point one remains, Mac, we'll bring it back
to the booth here. They for that report four seasons
Federal Credit Union Sideline reports tonight. So fifty three point one,
you run one more play and you basically give you
at trustful ninety five yards to go for a touchdown
to try to win it. Fourth and six for the
(02:02:19):
Bulldogs that can get a first down right at the
goal line. Opelika taking a time out here leading twenty
four to twenty one, and at the Hewitt trustful six
yard line.
Speaker 6 (02:02:29):
When play resumes, have we got any timeouts?
Speaker 3 (02:02:31):
They still have two timeouts remaining, So ope Like is
in business there with timeouts. So Auburn leading vests staviia
Now thirty eight thirty four. What a game that's been
at Duck Sanford Stadium tonight auburnt was down twenty one
to nothing. Hell, Opelike is going to kick the field
(02:02:53):
goal here? Oh so hopel like, I am going to
elect to kick the field goal here at the six
yard line, So this will be a twenty three yarder
just about like an extra point. And now coach Brian
(02:03:14):
Moore calls him time out, trying to get him to jump.
Smart move there, I like that. So coach Brian Moore
trying to get best Davie Hills to jump, and they
stayed putting there did the old shift to rue? Now
I think Opelaka's offense will come back out here all
(02:03:35):
right about mister Beams deer hunting up in Kentucky listening
to us coach McCracken, new councilman Chuck Beams former op
L like a school board.
Speaker 2 (02:03:43):
Yeah, congratulations on Earth on your little victory there. Absolutely,
and Eddie Smith wherever you are, h you enjoy this
when they're mister.
Speaker 3 (02:03:52):
Mayor, he's in the he's in the mayor's office. Now
down there at city Hall, twenty four to twenty one,
Opa like with the lead, fifty three seconds to go,
and it is a fourth and six for the Bulldogs
at the uit, trustful six yard line. Dogs trying to
burn all they can out of this one over down
twenty to ten at Central Tonight and Auburn with just
(02:04:18):
about a minute to go in the game, leading ves
Davia thirty eight thirty four fifty three point one left.
Offense comes back out here for the Bulldogs. No check
that it's the field goal team again here for the Bulldogs.
So hope like a will let to go for the
field goal here twenty three yard field goal again by
Rhys Beasley. Well you can't let a block cap in here.
(02:04:44):
Good snap, the place is down and the kick is
up and it is good. So the Dogs make it
a six point ball game here with forty eight point
seven left, twenty seven twenty one and that score and
drive power by ople like of Power Services Ontown people
working for you. Just forty eight point seven seconds left
(02:05:07):
and we're back after this here on the kicker, hopefully
I can unable to punch it in the end zone.
But the Dogs do get another field goal by Reese
Beasley twenty seven to twenty one, Dogs up by six.
Forty eight point seven seconds left, no timeouts for the Huskies,
(02:05:28):
and they await the kick here from Reese Beasley with
forty eight point seven left. Husky fans trying to get
on their feet and need Reese to knock one through
the in zone here and hopefully give the Huskies eighty
yards to go in forty eight seconds to work with
Reese high booming kick and it goes into the end
(02:05:52):
zone for a touchback. So Huskies will have it from
their own twenty yard line. And we've seen them beat
opal like a deep tonight on a couple of deep passes.
You can't have one here Antonius Peters and that secondary
I'm Jamel Griffin, Battle Howard. Those guys got to be
on high alert for that deep shot here tonight. Watch
(02:06:12):
Dylan Coke number one. He is their big play receiver
and you gotta watch any trick play you can think
of here. Deuce Austin lines up at a wide receiver
now empty backfield here for Benedict. Benedict drops back, he's
got time, chunks one deep down field and just got
passed the secondary and it falls incomplete.
Speaker 4 (02:06:33):
Boy almost got CJ. Davis. Boy, they wanted to hold
or a pass interference.
Speaker 6 (02:06:38):
But you might have got away with one there.
Speaker 3 (02:06:41):
No flak on the play though. Forty three point three
not much off the clock there. But they'll be second
down and ten for the Huskies from there on twenty
yard line op But like E leading twenty seven to
twenty one, and you see just how difficult it is
to keep up with these receivers. Boy, defense is gonna
have to We were a really good rib here.
Speaker 2 (02:07:00):
We're rushing three and so we're not gonna get a
great pass rush rushing three.
Speaker 3 (02:07:05):
Empty backfield again. Benedict drops back, steps up in the pocket,
he's pressured, tries to run and throws far side of
the field and it is incomplete at the twenty four
yard line.
Speaker 6 (02:07:19):
Very good.
Speaker 4 (02:07:20):
I think they said he came down with it.
Speaker 3 (02:07:21):
Call him, but knocked out of bounds in the twenty
five yard line, so it'll be a five yard pickup
third and five with thirty six point eight seconds.
Speaker 4 (02:07:28):
Again, no timeouts.
Speaker 3 (02:07:29):
Here for you at trustfill as a trail opalaika by
six with thirty six point.
Speaker 4 (02:07:33):
Eight, got to rush at least four five wide.
Speaker 3 (02:07:36):
Look again, a quick throw and it's complete, but short
of the first down by Davis, and that's gonna keep
the clock running under thirty twenty eight, twenty seven, twenty six.
They can't stop the clock down to twenty four, down
to twenty three. Benedict finally gets the fourth down snap
he throws and there's a stoppage in play and it
is a false start against you and trustful that'll back
(02:07:59):
him up five yard. It'll be fourth down and seven
and that should be a runoff too. Clock stock with
nineteen point seven seconds left in the game. Now they
start the clock down the seventeen down to sixteen, fifteen
(02:08:19):
down to fourteen, one final play for the Huskies.
Speaker 4 (02:08:22):
We're down to ten, down to nine.
Speaker 3 (02:08:25):
Benedict drops back, steps up in the pocket, chunks one
down feel and it is tipped around and I didn't complete.
Speaker 4 (02:08:32):
Two point seven seconds left, but it's a.
Speaker 3 (02:08:34):
Turnover on downs, turnover on downs, and the Dogs are
gonna get out of here at trustle with a win.
Speaker 4 (02:08:40):
Dogs are gonna win it.
Speaker 3 (02:08:41):
Dogs are gonna win it two point seven seconds left,
the leaguean dropped two a knee and head home. Save
us room next Friday night at Pulledogg Stadium and Hewett
(02:09:04):
Trustful players and frustration throwing helmets on the side, and
the Bulldogs will come out on the field and take
the victory formation.
Speaker 4 (02:09:13):
With two point seven seconds left.
Speaker 3 (02:09:16):
What a second half by this Bulldog coaching staff and team,
and Wit Cooper will drop down for one final time
here in Hewett Trustful Stadium and the Bulldogs will head
to round number two.
Speaker 4 (02:09:32):
And go snap knee.
Speaker 6 (02:09:35):
Ball game, ball game.
Speaker 4 (02:09:38):
Listen to the dogs across the way.
Speaker 3 (02:09:45):
What a win, what a proger win for the Bulldogs
on the road against this Huet trustful Husky team.
Speaker 4 (02:09:51):
Twenty seven twenty one. Dog's a winner.
Speaker 3 (02:10:00):
And Baker will be coming to Bulldogs Stadium next Friday night.
Dog fans, make your plans to be with us for
round number two. The postgame show comes your way next
on ninety seven points. If at Kicker FM, well the
(02:10:23):
party is on, at least for the Bulldogs here and
he at Trustful Stadium, Opulaca Winter Tonight on the Road
twenty seven twenty one, Matt McCracken, Where are you, my friend?
Speaker 6 (02:10:31):
I'm right you're by Coach Moore wants it getting interviewed.
Speaker 7 (02:10:34):
Holy cow, what a game, Mac, what a game? Just
dead and out of it and those dogs ever quit.
It's just like you know Bam Prescott's pregame speech when
Bam said, you know it's if you're built different, the
winner of this game's gonna be built different.
Speaker 5 (02:10:50):
And look like the dogs were built different.
Speaker 4 (02:10:52):
Yeah, they were built dog tough tonight.
Speaker 3 (02:10:54):
Matt McCracken postgame show continues here, And uh, Rhys Beasley,
he missed one and in the second half, a boy coach,
he was huge tonight, the difference maker for Opelika, kicking
these field goals down the stretch and Opelika went at
twenty seven to twenty one. Scored two touchdowns tonight, but
the rest were all field goals. Hopelika went for two.
Didn't get it one time in the game, had a
(02:11:15):
lot of opportunities, try to put this one away, and uh,
you know, kept letting Hewett trust will really hang around
in the second half, Hope, Like I had multiple opportunities
and a couple of times you felt like coach you
boy was let that slip away, but what a game
it was.
Speaker 4 (02:11:28):
And Mac, as soon as you get coach, let us know,
and uh we'll catch up with him on the field.
Don't forget.
Speaker 3 (02:11:33):
Coming up tonight Encore Rehabilitation High School Scoreboard show here
on the Kicker, and we'll continue here with our postgame
show as we come to you here from Hewett. Trust well,
he's gonna talk to his team down on the field,
right Mac.
Speaker 6 (02:11:46):
Yeah, I love him talk to his boys worse.
Speaker 3 (02:11:48):
Okay, Mac, thank you down on the field and coach Brian,
we're going to talk to his team on the field.
And uh, hey, don't forget next week. Also there'll be
another Bulldog lunching First Baptist Church Opalike on Thursday as
we get ready for round number two and Opelika will
be hosting Baker inside Bulldogs Stadium and it should be
a big one next week.
Speaker 4 (02:12:08):
Coach, I'm telling you what about this dog team.
Speaker 3 (02:12:11):
Hell, the first half, I know everybody's sitting around you know,
just Opelikah wears on you, Coach, They wear on you.
Speaker 4 (02:12:16):
This team just wears on you.
Speaker 3 (02:12:18):
And I was talking to you at Trustful Guys at
halftime and he goes, boy, tell you those big running
backs you got.
Speaker 4 (02:12:23):
I'd keep running those guys over and over and over again,
and it does wear on you.
Speaker 6 (02:12:27):
Coach.
Speaker 3 (02:12:27):
You may, you may, You may lose the yard, you
may gain two, you may lose the yard. You may
game one and you punt it back to them. But
over the course of a game, I think we saw
tonight just what it did on that defense. It wore
them down here in the second half, Yes, sir.
Speaker 4 (02:12:39):
And that was big.
Speaker 3 (02:12:40):
We'll come back and we'll catch up with coach Brian
Moore will continue with our post game show on the
way next to Opela like a winner on the road.
And you at Trustful twenty seven to twenty one, back
after this time out here on the kicker, Welcome back
here do you at Trustful Stadium? Opalaka Winter tonight twenty
(02:13:02):
seven to twenty one. Dogs found the end zone twice,
got a safety and the rest was on Reese Beasley
tonight with some big field goals for Opalike and Matt McCracken.
Speaker 4 (02:13:10):
You got coach, yet we lost you in the shuffle here.
Speaker 6 (02:13:13):
He's doing some reunion time right now.
Speaker 7 (02:13:15):
We've got a lot of older dogs coming came to
Birmingham to watch this.
Speaker 4 (02:13:18):
Well, that's great, and you know all of them are happy,
So yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 3 (02:13:22):
Matt McCracken four seasons, Federal Credit Union Sideline reports tonight,
and we'll catch up with a very happy coach Brian
Moore coming up here in just a bit. I see
him down there with his wife Lindsey. They're taking some
photos with I'm sure some family too, and some friends.
Cost Coach Moore coach up this way in North Alabama
for a while. I know he's got lots of former
players too. They'd like to come keep up with Coach
(02:13:42):
Moore and his family. Twenty seven to twenty one though, Ope,
a like a winter tonight over he at Trustful Baker again.
Coming to Bulldog Stadium next week on Friday night. Make
your plans to join us inside Bulldog Stadium. Well, it's
going to be an exciting fun time next week inside
Bulldog Stadium. Coach Moore is just about to catch up
with Mac McCracken.
Speaker 4 (02:14:02):
But what a game that was?
Speaker 3 (02:14:04):
Auburn gonna win tonight to forty five thirty four? They
lead with just nine was that forty seconds left? Nine minutes?
Holy smokes? They still got nine minutes left in the
fourth quarter there in Auburn. Of course we maybe a
little behind two on the NFHS network, but well they
win tonight as we get ready for coach bry and
(02:14:24):
Moore to visit with coach McCracken, and uh, it's a
mac McCracken. Mac walked this way just a little bit too,
as as we can get a little better signal. We
don't want to start cutting out with coach, but go
ahead and when you win, you're ready, Okay, all right,
go ahead.
Speaker 7 (02:14:38):
Therese more congratulations on this hard, hard fault victory.
Speaker 6 (02:14:43):
We're going to the next round at home.
Speaker 7 (02:14:45):
To host Baker and look for being on those sidelines
and watching this game have ups downs, You got points
when it needed. Yeah, and I think when you take
you know, the old man has always talked about that
tenth grader, that tenth grader.
Speaker 11 (02:14:59):
You know you.
Speaker 6 (02:15:01):
Cooper grew up a lot of night.
Speaker 7 (02:15:03):
How about the throw to Jaywash right there that turn
the turn the game basically around, And just tell me.
Speaker 6 (02:15:10):
Describe the joy you got right now for you and
your kids as you're going on to the next round.
Speaker 9 (02:15:15):
Man, you know, you know, first off, you know it
was it's been a tough year, make I mean, you
know it's been it's been ups and downs all year,
you know, And for for our kids to come out
and do this and stay in this fight, I mean,
we had every reason to to to shut it down,
but our pride, man, our heart like and our love
for this community is too great. Like these kids just
(02:15:35):
continue to battle. I mean, we're down two scores in
the third quarter. You know, it wasn't pretty. You know,
we got the ball, it's three and out. They drive
right down and score. It was not pretty at all.
And for us to continue to battle, find ways back
in the ball game and just stay the course. Like,
you know, this is about life, right. This game is
about what it does for young people, old people like
(02:15:57):
me in life and the resilience that teach you. But
I've never met a more resilient group of people than
this in my life. How many one score games have
we won, how many times have we trailed in the
second half at halftime, and these kids just continue to
stay the course, man, and they just continue to believe
our Dank Cafton goes down, Jordan Wait's goes down, and
our kids just rally. Jalen Nelson comes in. C. J. Johnson,
(02:16:18):
Our offensive line, our defense gets stops.
Speaker 5 (02:16:20):
Braden Howard.
Speaker 9 (02:16:21):
Huge pick, I mean absolutely huge pick for like the
I don't know how many weeks like it feels like
every week, you know, for Braden.
Speaker 5 (02:16:27):
And I just man, I love this place. I love
these people.
Speaker 9 (02:16:30):
I love our community, our parents, our kids, and I'm
just blessed to help, you know, put this pride in
this program and help help lead these kids. But man,
they've taught me more this year than I can ever remember.
It's been incredible, and I'm just so proud of them
and so much joy right now.
Speaker 7 (02:16:44):
Right before I send you back up to Pops and
Van and Jason. I know you discussed this on your show.
You said, you know, hey, Van, every once in a while,
take a peek up at that crowd. Yeah, you know,
and I get lost in the game. Coach dog Nation
never left that and they never left.
Speaker 6 (02:17:01):
You know.
Speaker 9 (02:17:02):
Coach Floyd asked me before the game, he said, well,
how will y'all travel? I said, man, you ain't never
played Oplaika. I mean, come on, every had black are gonna.
Speaker 5 (02:17:09):
Be full over there. Just so incredible.
Speaker 9 (02:17:12):
Great to see Coach Blackman, you know, tonight and see him,
you know, on the sideline and just you know what
he's done for me in my life and the mentorship,
and you know about to talk to the other great mentor,
and so really three of my dad's here, So three
of the greatest leaders in my life.
Speaker 5 (02:17:26):
I'm just blessed. Let me get you up top.
Speaker 3 (02:17:31):
Coach, Congratulations on the wind. Talk about some of those
coaching calls you had to make tonight. I know you
were on the edge of your seats making a few
of those tonight field goal, go for it those type
of things.
Speaker 4 (02:17:42):
What went on to that on the sidelines talk to
us about.
Speaker 5 (02:17:44):
Them more tonight than in a season.
Speaker 9 (02:17:47):
It just it was so many friends, you know, friends
type opportunities for us, you know, just trying to you know,
decide to kick it. And I just kept, I kept
believing that, you know, our defense was going to get
stops and so for us to continue to chip away,
that eight point lead had to come down, you know,
so that a touchdown mattered.
Speaker 5 (02:18:06):
And we finally got that one.
Speaker 9 (02:18:08):
And so we had missed one earlier with Reese and
then for us to you know, him to knock one,
you know two through at the end, I thought it
was just crucial.
Speaker 5 (02:18:15):
So they had to go eighty yards. I thought it
made the whole difference.
Speaker 9 (02:18:18):
And man, just like I said, just so proud of
our kids and you know, everybody for continuing to believe
we could win the game.
Speaker 3 (02:18:24):
Talk about how you coached with Cooper tonight, your quarterback,
because you know, not a lot of pressure early in
the game, but when it mattered the most, you let
him loose.
Speaker 9 (02:18:33):
Yeah, I mean, you know we had to get you know,
first off, Carson Daniel and j d Atkins have done
a fantastic job with him.
Speaker 6 (02:18:38):
You know.
Speaker 9 (02:18:39):
Now he's in i think his fifth start, you know,
and and he's a gamer man. That kid's so dang tough,
you know, and did things he needed to do. I
mean a couple of throws. I mean he got too
rough in the passer you know, penalties where guys were
trying to knock him out of there, and you know,
for him to continue to fight and stay in there
and made crucial throws. I mean the double move was
another great call this time instead of Dre to Jaysh
(02:19:01):
and he just goes up over the guy.
Speaker 5 (02:19:03):
I mean, he had the guy's number.
Speaker 9 (02:19:05):
And just so proud of with And man, let me
tell you something there's not a kid that deserves that
more than that kid right there. He is a special
young man and uh man, just what a what an
outstanding family, and I'm just proud for them.
Speaker 2 (02:19:16):
Now.
Speaker 3 (02:19:16):
I've known Jalen a longtime coach. He listened my neighborhood,
one of my neighbors. I loved this for him tonight too,
because you know, this season, I think it's been a
little frustrating for him at times. You know, he's missed
the pass here, missed the drive, slipped it down. You know,
it's just hadn't been that breakout player this year that
he wanted to be by he came through tonight.
Speaker 9 (02:19:32):
Yeah, I mean he has, like it's so funny called
intuition or whatever. But at halftime, I just you know,
we had talked about him. We always go make adjustments,
and typically it's players over plays. You know, we're trying
to figure out you know what, you know what, guys
don't have touches, and we charted all that stuff, and
you know, for us to get Jalen going there, I
thought was absolutely crucial. You know, in the game we
needed him, and uh you know, he obviously rose to
(02:19:53):
the occasion and just kept fighting, and like you said,
you know he's look musical chairs at quarterback too. Now
that's right, and it's been tough for those receivers, Bennett
and those guys, but just credit to them to continue
to stay in there and get after it all night long.
Speaker 3 (02:20:05):
Well and being ready to because in all off season, coach,
he's the third string quarterback. You don't get a lot
of rips at seven on seven's at all these camps
preparing for this season. I know he prepares, but boy,
he had to grow up quickly this year, didn't he.
Speaker 9 (02:20:18):
How about your third string quarterback coming on the road
and beating Hewett.
Speaker 5 (02:20:20):
I know, get you some of that.
Speaker 4 (02:20:22):
I'm telling you.
Speaker 6 (02:20:22):
Oh, that's big time.
Speaker 5 (02:20:24):
And that's him.
Speaker 9 (02:20:25):
I mean, that's his belief and heart and readiness to play.
I mean exactly what said band being ready to go
when his numbers called.
Speaker 3 (02:20:31):
Hey, Baker is at home next Friday night. You're ready
for that. Coach McCracken's got something.
Speaker 6 (02:20:34):
For you to I enjoyed that little conversation with you
this morning. Son. I didn't think i'd catch you in
the office.
Speaker 5 (02:20:43):
Hey, but I watch.
Speaker 2 (02:20:45):
YouTube and I watched coach Pat Dye on there and
he looked.
Speaker 6 (02:20:49):
At that reporter and said, how do you win a game?
A big game, you know? And he looked right at
him and said, you play sixty minutes.
Speaker 11 (02:21:00):
And you know what you did this morning? You said
sixty minutes before I said it. I don't know whether
you remember that, and that I said that man knows
something about coaching football.
Speaker 5 (02:21:10):
I know somebody goes died to He was my grandfather's favorite.
Speaker 2 (02:21:13):
Oh man, Brian, I'm so proud of you and so
happy for this team.
Speaker 6 (02:21:17):
Man, we get to play again. Said now this is
this was Hoover last year. It was the second round.
Speaker 2 (02:21:25):
It was now y'all need to take this team and
throw them in the trash can and get ready for
for Hey.
Speaker 6 (02:21:34):
Yeah, they're gonna come up here wanting to win too,
you know that.
Speaker 9 (02:21:37):
And they and they got a big time quarterback. I mean,
I know a little about him. We saw him in
the summer, you know. But we're gonna, we're gonna, we're
gonna enjoy the busy. Now you enjoyed this, sir, and
I love you, And I'll try to come Sunday.
Speaker 4 (02:21:49):
Coach you general manager, you'll have a good scouting report too.
Speaker 5 (02:21:51):
Hey, Hey, between them and Hewett.
Speaker 9 (02:21:53):
Back to back weeks for Tucker Brown and he's got
a lot so good Sko really proud of everybody being
great win. Thank you for what you guys do and
just love this team and proud of them. And let's
just keep rolling. Man, Let's get back to Boardogg Stadium
and absolutely packed that thing out next week.
Speaker 4 (02:22:06):
Thank the coach.
Speaker 3 (02:22:07):
Amen, congratulations again coach coach Brian Moore. There on the
sidelines tonight here at Hewett Trustful Stadium. We'll wrap things
up and come back with more here as our postgame
show continues on the kicker. Well, celebrate good times. We
are here at Hewitt Trustful tonight. Van Riggs, Coach Spence McCracken,
(02:22:30):
Mac mccrack and Jason Lee. What have all we had
tonight and Opelikah Winter tonight twenty seven to twenty one.
Heading into halftime, Dogs trailed fourteen to six Opelikah tonight,
and the way they scored was in multiple different ways.
Opelikah was able to get twelve points off four field
goals from Rhys Beasley, a safety added two and then
Dogs got seven on a touchdown and six on a
(02:22:52):
touchdown and they missed a two point conversion. As Opelikah
wins it here twenty seven to twenty one, Opelikah will
advance on next week they'll host Bay Think or inside
Bulldog Stadium Round two of the seven eight state playoffs.
Is Opalika wins it here twenty seven twenty one. What
a fun one tonight, Jason Lee. Appreciate all your help
at halftime and getting here. And I want to say
(02:23:13):
this before we sign off. There's a lot of places
we go on the road and people you know, are
accommodating some I say this, these folks here to hear
at Trustful went above and beyond accommodations tonight for us.
I mean just an outstanding administration. Husky Fast Network crew
Pat Smith, his folks here did an outstanding job hosting
(02:23:34):
us fed us. I mean, just roll the red carpet
out the way we try to treat people at opal like,
and a big thanks to them for helping us out tonight.
Leading up to this game, we had a couple of
weeks they were telling us where to go send us
pictures of our setup. Means a lot to us as broadcasters,
and we certainly appreciate them, and hopefully we'll see them
again down the road with similar results like we had tonight,
(02:23:56):
but maybe we can host them and return the favor
at Bulldog stadiums prove though to eight and three on
the season with this win over here at trustwill here
in the first round again Baker next week inside Bulldog
Stadium and looking forward to that one. Jason Lee And
for my broadcast partner Spence McCracken. Mac McCracken and Jason Lee,
(02:24:16):
stay tuned for the Encore Rehabilitation High School Scoreboard show
that's coming up on the way next with Jerry Bavarrow
and Eddie Owen.
