Speaker 4 (01:46):
Know I really liked the first episode. It's not scared.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
It's like a weird suspense, so you don't know what's
gonna happen next.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Do I need to watch it to be in the know.

Speaker 5 (01:56):
You may not like it.

Speaker 4 (01:58):

Speaker 5 (02:00):
I just know the stuff that you kind of like.
I don't know that you'd be into this. Am I
moved too slow for you?

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Oh yeah, I don't like slow train?

Speaker 5 (02:07):
You know what you would like? Is what I'm going

Speaker 2 (02:10):
I can is it? Is it the Veil.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
It's a movie and it was written by Jerry Seinfelony
stars in it.

Speaker 5 (02:18):
It's called Unfrosted.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Might you think I'm gonna like that?

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Because it's kind of like a it's like out, it's
out it's on Netflix.

Speaker 5 (02:25):
Yeah, all right, Well i'll tell you why later.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
I don't if we build the show while we're on
the air. All Right, Honestly, this may be the best
weekend of the year, so just do something for it. Sunshine,
Sky's sunny, clear, highs in the upper seventies and the
mid eighties inland, and it's the weekend. It's time.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
Yeah, weekend, Friday night, Mother's Day weekend.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Tanya's got a weirdness about her because she's going on
a date for the first time in a month.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
I'm gonna wear something Mike sexy.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
That's great. You know what I'm gonna wear tonight. I
got these very comfortable, sort of like velvety sweatpants that
sounds nice, and I put them on when I watch something.
I curl up on the couch and Georgie gets next
to me with her green dog bone treat that cleans
her teeth. I smell it, she smells it, we all
smell it. And that's what I'm gonna do tonight.

Speaker 5 (03:23):
I need to know what treat that is.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Yeah, hit us with the link, Georgia, what's that she
can't tell me? All right? I'm also hosting charity event tonight.
Let's say about that later. Look at you at UCLA
the Johnson Cancer Research Center.

Speaker 5 (03:40):
Oh okay, yeah you were there not too long ago.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Yeah, I'm gonna host that tonight. So looking forward to
big night, Yes, big night, big night out. So I
guess I'm not gonna wear my sweat still later but no.

Speaker 5 (03:52):
But they'll feel so nice when you put them on
after you after.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
My tight shoes. Today's Mexican Mother's Day. All the mother's
celebrating Happy Mother's Day.

Speaker 5 (04:02):
Also its Salvador in Guatemala.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
And it is also Mother's Day weekend here in the States.
Sunday is the day we celebrate old moms.

Speaker 5 (04:12):
Oh about you.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
My mom's birthday is Friday. Mother's Day is Sunday. It
is a extravaganza, a bookend of celebrations. Yeah, I mean Saturday.
We just continue through. And she's very excited because she's
having a birthday on National Shrimp Day and she likes shrimp.
Beautiful weekend this weekend. As I was saying, it's coming
on the best ones. So for me, the best part

(04:37):
of this weekend is can be so beautiful is now
before it happens, because once it happens, it's over.

Speaker 5 (04:43):
I enjoy the moment.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
I might talk about it all morning, how great it's
going to be this weekend. Because this, to me, it's
like the journey, right, The leading up to the planning
is almost better than the actual thing.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
In my mind, I enjoy the actual thing. The planning
can sometimes stressful.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
Well you gotta make it not stressful. Tan you planning
a wedding? Stressful? Me planning? Me? Planning like free time tomorrow?
Not stressful?

Speaker 5 (05:10):
Sure?

Speaker 7 (05:10):
Plan?

Speaker 4 (05:11):
What are your free time?

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Yeah? It's fun to be in my head.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
It sounds like an oxy.

Speaker 5 (05:16):
Let's see what's on the schedule.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Now, free time? You got hurt, it's gonna run out. Yeah,
and by the way, once we start free time, it's
almost over.

Speaker 5 (05:26):
You cannot think that way.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
How much free time do you have? Three hours? Two hours?

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Take a good look, four hours. Let me just take
a game.

Speaker 5 (05:35):
You put it like an emoji next to your free time.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
I thought you said you'd get my schedule.

Speaker 4 (05:41):
No, get your work schedule, not your free time schedule.

Speaker 5 (05:44):
Yeah, we get like a show schedule.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Do you want my free time schedule?

Speaker 5 (05:49):
I'm okay, I'd like it.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
Why not?

Speaker 5 (05:52):
I like your location that you're not sharing locations with me.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Because then you'll show up.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
I want to show up.

Speaker 5 (06:00):
Is the safety thing.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
Tommy will show up at a park. I saw you
were on your way here.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
It comes in handy sometimes, like if you're like running,
like I was like, oh, let's see where he's at.

Speaker 5 (06:10):
Like, oh, he's exiting the freeway. He'll be here in
two minutes.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
I don't have to check your call. He's been known
to drop things at my home. I don't so.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
Kind that I did that.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
And by the way, the group, so you're saying, I'm
bringing you these cookies, and I was like, what are
you bringing me cookies too?

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Exactly, that's why you don't want.

Speaker 7 (06:27):
To very confusing because I told you on the air
that I was going to bring you these cookies so
you could watch the movie.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
I know, but I couldn't watch the movie because I
need to be in the right headspace to watch that movie,
and I wasn't ready for you.

Speaker 5 (06:41):
No, we can't help you with your headspace.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
No, well, my location is here. Guys, like, you're with
me for hours a day. This is our location.

Speaker 5 (06:48):
It's just my thing.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
I share locations with everybody. I'd be on his location.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
I do think it's weird you don't share it with us,
But it's fine.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
You share a location with all these no right, So Mark,
do you share your location? Yes?

Speaker 8 (07:02):
I do?

Speaker 5 (07:03):
Yes, Marke does.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Why. I think it's fun. I like to looking through
everyone else. You guys need to get out. That's fun.
Do you guys share your locations in the back room?

Speaker 9 (07:11):
Now?

Speaker 5 (07:12):
I do the name it not Mark. I won't let him.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (07:17):
I can see his location.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
I'm with.

Speaker 5 (07:23):
Marx is literally his home and Burbank and Burbank.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
And o Hi once a year, Sudney. What do we
miss overnight while we were sleeps? Well?

Speaker 3 (07:35):
Justin Haley Bieber will become parents this summer. People magazine
reports that Haley has entered her third trimester. The Eras
tour resumed for a two month leg in Europe. Taylor
altered the set list to include songs from the Tortured
Poet's Department, including but Daddy, I Love Him, Fortnite and
I Can Do It with a Broken Heart and Heads Up.

(07:56):
Another Sacha shortage could be coming soon. The company announced
a halt in production until Labor Day due to ongoing
supply chain challenges.

Speaker 5 (08:06):
And that's what happened overnight.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
We are gonna get to the morning coming up. If
you're going on a date tonight or this weekend, I'm
gonna pay bills. My mom is gonna join us. I hear,
I'm gonna wake up. Oh she's on the East coast,
so I guess she won't be woken up, but she's
gonna be on with us in just a few minutes.
Connie Seacrest's birthday on this Mother's Day weekend, celebratory weekend.
And NICKI isn't up on Nikki, Good morning, It's Ryan,
It's Systney's Tony.

Speaker 10 (08:28):
How are you okay?

Speaker 1 (08:30):
Never?

Speaker 6 (08:30):
Are you guys good?

Speaker 2 (08:32):
I'm just was curious. I wanted to talk to anybody
you know calling in. If you have a long commute,
you have a pretty long commute, right.

Speaker 6 (08:39):
I do have a pretty long commute. I commute every
day sixty miles each way, one hundred and twenty miles
per day. Wow.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
What freeways do you use? Wow? It's long.

Speaker 6 (08:51):
I use two ten, six, five, one oh five to ten.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
So where do you start Pasadena? Do you start on
two ten?

Speaker 6 (09:02):
I start to ten. That's where Foods Hit Lives.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
And upland screen here.

Speaker 6 (09:09):
Yes, yep, okay Upland that's where we start. And then
I go uh six o five and to Norwalk and
Norwalk I changed to one oh five and then all
the way to Lax that's where I exit.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Wow, wow, that's real. What do you do during that commute? Uh?

Speaker 6 (09:31):
Well, I do a lot of things. Uh this is
a way for me to mentally journal. So I go
through a lot of thoughts. I put some on the shelves.
It's actually uh good for my mental health. I figured
that I've been doing this for three years now, so
I'm getting my priorities trade. I'm listening to podcasts, I'm

(09:52):
listening to you guys. I'm catching up on the news
a lot of things. Actually, I would never have the
downtime for myself. I'm a mom of a special needs child.
I have a smaller daughter as well, so there is
no way I could have had this much time for myself. Like,
that's that's not interesting.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
So it's a it's a blessing and it's wellness for you.

Speaker 5 (10:13):
It sounds like, yeah, that's a positive way to look
at traffic.

Speaker 6 (10:16):
Well, it is what you make out of It looks
like our lives, everything we do it's what you make
out of it. I decided I committed to this, and
I decided this is what I'm going to make out
of it. Otherwise there's no way I could have coped
with this.

Speaker 11 (10:32):
Honestly, we should call you more often, I know, But
that's such a great way to think of it, because
traffic and glng commutes can make people so grumpy, and
you're just choosing not to have that attitude.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
Well, what's the longest it's ever taken you to do
the sixty miles?

Speaker 6 (10:48):
Three hours when it's rainy and it's Yeah, sometimes it's
three hours just to get back, and I'm commuting because
I'm taking my son who special needs to this cool
to this specific school that he goes to for for
this many years, and sometimes when it's a latey day
and then wonders like some traffic and stuff like that,

(11:11):
it takes three hours. That's what I noticed that he's
getting tired of this. But you know, you gotta do
what you got to. You got to make the best
out of what you're gonna do.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
Well, you are a good mom, a good person. We
appreciate you listening to us. Thank you for the positive vibes.
It's definitely something we love hearing. And we'll be thinking
about you every day when we're doing this every day. Okay, Nikki,
thank you guys.

Speaker 6 (11:35):
I love you. I love listening to you, and you
give us a lot of good vibes too. Bye, thank you.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
I need to just think about Nicki when I get
all worked up, like when Nikki get bothered that Nicky's
running late. No, would Nikki get bothered that it took
thirty minutes, not twenty. No would Nikki get bothered that
you guys often gang up on me? No, she wouldn't.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
First of all, a circle across the board.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Here, what WOULDNICKI think? I don't think you she would
think it's full circle. I'm gonna ask myself. It is
all right? Coming back with the morning hack, the three
ways to make a good impression on a first date.
So early we had three ways to make a good
impression on a job interview. Well, now pay attention to
these three things you'll be judged on a date, and

(12:28):
they are your teeth. Have you ever had something in
your teeth.

Speaker 5 (12:34):
Like something in your teeth or just crooked teeth?

Speaker 2 (12:37):
Well, no, something in your teeth. I got I don't
know maybe it's just the way your teeth look, Maxico.
Make me self conscious. Now, what if I don't like
my teeth?

Speaker 5 (12:46):
Keep your teeth clean or keep your mouth shut?

Speaker 2 (12:49):
Yeah, keep your lips like smile with your lips look
like tight? Your confidence? How are you with your confidence?

Speaker 5 (12:55):
Well, if you're not showing your teeth, it's gonna be tough.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
Well, it's like that guy at the gym that got
my numb. We're so fast.

Speaker 5 (13:01):
That guy was all over it.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
Well he wanted to teach me, to teach you, but
maybe one of my numbers, I don't know. And then
your grammar. Oh, yeah, these are making me like I
wouldn't stress. I'm stressed now. I don't want these in
my head. Terrible, terrible.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
I mean, grammar is a big deal, but grammar is hard.
We do it every morning, guys, but we don't get
it rot rot.

Speaker 5 (13:34):
What's wrong?

Speaker 2 (13:35):
We don't hit it right. We don't get it rot y'all.
Where I grew up, you don't get it rot A
lot of time. Right, I'm finn to go do something
that really Wow, that's well, that's how I grew up
to assistant Tony whoever mad at me?

Speaker 3 (13:53):
Today's quote why are you where's your confidence?

Speaker 2 (13:58):
My confidence is fleeting and Tanya is stressing me out
with this wedding planning. So, Linda, did you know that
Tanya changed the date on the wedding? Okay, see Blenda
in my office didn't know either.

Speaker 4 (14:09):
No, I didn't change it. There just isn't one.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Well, there's no wedding now, she said, there's no way.

Speaker 7 (14:14):
No, no, there's no wedding Thanksgiving weekend.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
Did you know that she's now not doing the wedding
on Thanksgiving weekend? No, she didn't know that.

Speaker 5 (14:23):
So so as of now, it was still in your calendar, Ryan.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
So as of now, was it still my calendar to
perform at her wedding over Thanksgiving? She's holding it?

Speaker 4 (14:32):
Oh yeah, see okay holding there's a.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
Hold, but my date's book up. I got performances everywhere.
We're got a hold off. The hold of the Aras
tour kicked off. My tour is gonna start soon. Today's squall.
Just because you don't I ripped page, so I have
to put the paper back there. Just because just because
you don't require much doesn't mean you deserve the bare minimum.

(14:57):
That's good for us. We don't require much We're easy,
go easy on me.

Speaker 5 (15:04):
Nobody wants the bare minimum.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
It's Friday, okay, let's not care about anything. Just FM
headlines with siciny well.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
More than eight hundred uc faculty and staff urged UCLA
Chancellor Jean Block to resign immediately and are calling for
all charges to be dropped against all students' staff and
faculty involved in the campus protests.

Speaker 5 (15:24):
The graffiti covered outside.

Speaker 3 (15:25):
Ocean Wide Plaza building located opposite of Crypto dot Com
Arena in downtown La is set to be sold after
sitting vacant and half finished since twenty nineteen. The California
Public Utilities Commission unanimously approved a flat rate for electric bills.
This will likely mean a decreased bill for large families
and those in the hottest climates. And Justin Bieber and

(15:46):
Hailey Baber are expecting their first baby together. The couple
announced the news on Instagram with a video as well
as pictures from their vow renewal.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
On air with Ryan Seacrest, I like my whiskey neat.
I actually don't drink whiskey at all.

Speaker 5 (16:02):
If you had to, would you drink it neat?

Speaker 2 (16:04):
Or would you do it? On the can't drink it warm?

Speaker 5 (16:06):
Can you drink anything that means meat is warm warm.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Without anything in it? Can you drink anything neat? You're
like your gin neat tops you drink, you might be
a neat drinker. Of all the neat drinkers, my favorite
are you at the top of the list? Tops you
drink neat?

Speaker 3 (16:22):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Yes, uh huh. My hunch was right, and by in
the back room drink anything neat.

Speaker 5 (16:26):
My dad does his chieve us, but sometimes it puts
them on the rock. So I don't know.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
Every time I've talked to him, he's told me Rock, you're.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
Right, actually, But sometimes I say, Imna, maybe the eyes
has melted, you know.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
What, then it's better. Okay, let's grab this call here
from Emily before we get into paying your bills. This morning.
Good morning, Emily. How are you doing. Hi?

Speaker 6 (16:47):
I'm good good.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
So what's up?

Speaker 12 (16:51):
Okay?

Speaker 13 (16:51):
So, basically, I got my friend a gift like two
months ago, and I found it at Goodwill and I
know that it's the one that I gave her because
it was it was personalized.

Speaker 5 (17:02):
Oh so she donated it to the good Will.

Speaker 13 (17:06):
I guess that I got her two months ago.

Speaker 2 (17:08):
But what are the odds that you found it, like
it seems yeah.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
I always thought those were like shipped to different goodwill
department stores.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
It's crazy all the time.

Speaker 13 (17:19):
And like also she knows that, which is kind of weird.

Speaker 2 (17:21):
What was it?

Speaker 1 (17:22):
Oh?

Speaker 13 (17:23):
It was a bag and it was personalized with her initials?

Speaker 2 (17:25):
Mean well that's how you know? Yeah, and so what
are we going to do about it?

Speaker 6 (17:31):
I think you what I'm thinking?

Speaker 13 (17:32):
Like, I took a picture, Like should I send it
to her?

Speaker 8 (17:34):
No?

Speaker 7 (17:34):
You should buy it back and give it to her,
get something, some money.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
Now it's a gift.

Speaker 5 (17:42):
Clearly didn't want the gift in the first one.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
Whatever that's I say, you call her out, take a
picture and text it to her.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
I mean, here, can we just can we actually be
real people for a second. Okay, we've all gotten gifts
that we don't want. So good on her for donating it.
I said, we've all gotten gifts we don't want. Good
on her for donating and not just keeping it, not
using it.

Speaker 5 (18:04):
I usually do not donate personalized gifts, even if.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
You have to be nicer about donations.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
It's almost the opposite. I'm too nice because the person
that gave it to me, was it was so thoughtful.
I would never want to get rid of it.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
I'm thinking, if you're not using it, you don't like it,
and it's a waste, why not let someone else enjoy it?
So I actually appreciate your friend on this one, Emily.

Speaker 6 (18:21):
Sorry, So should I tell her?

Speaker 2 (18:23):
I would?

Speaker 5 (18:26):
That depends on how good of a friend you want to.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
Still you're telling us, let's tell her? Why not? Thank you, Emily?

Speaker 6 (18:33):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
So Mother's Day weekend here talked about what you really
want from Mother's Day. Some moms say they don't want
flowers or what used to get your mom when you
were a kid. Doesn't you used to make something?

Speaker 3 (18:47):
Well, honestly, I can't even remember. But my kids are
making me stuff because they st the other day. I
always go through their backpacks and they go home from school,
take out their lunch pails and their you know, olive
papers and read stuff.

Speaker 5 (18:58):
And MAXIMUM was.

Speaker 3 (18:59):
Like, Mom, don't open my backpack because I have your
Mother's Day gift in there.

Speaker 5 (19:03):
And here's a Now.

That's right, girl, birthday month. I'm a birthday month girl too.

Speaker 2 (19:37):

in your celebration tour?

Speaker 12 (19:42):

Speaker 2 (19:54):
But what do you want to do or what are
you going to do this evening on your actual birthday evening?

Speaker 12 (19:59):
I'm so object to what Meredith and Flora have planned
for me.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
That's exciting. Well, I'm sure Flora is gonna either make
you a cake, say she made you a cake, but
at least blow out the candles on the cake for you.

Speaker 12 (20:13):
You got that right, I can't wait. You know, she
always comes up with some really cool idea, So we'll
be sure take a picture and send it to you.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
Guys. Let's see if Tanya or Siciny can remember. We
celebrate your birthday every year on this show. Tany been
here for how many years on this show?

to tell them, so tell me, Sue, No, Mom, tell
them no lemon meringue, peanut butter yogurt pie with what
mother never pretzels with pretzels.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
Peanut butter yogurt pie with pretzels.

Speaker 5 (21:14):
I never even heard of it, but I am sharing.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
Okay, guys, we say it every year.

Speaker 4 (21:17):
No favor your ice cream cookie, cooka.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
That's not what I have. What's happened with these two?

Speaker 12 (21:31):
Well they remember the pie. I'll give them credit.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
And the sausage balls.

Speaker 6 (21:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 12 (21:41):
None of us are really big dessert people, so I
forgive them.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
Thank you, Connie, Okay, hey, I'll let you go and
celebrate your birthday.

Speaker 12 (21:53):
I love you, Ma, I love you, thank you, guys.

Speaker 5 (21:56):

Speaker 2 (21:58):
Before you go. You know who's like she can't make
a decision. Khanie can't make any decisions about her wedding.

Speaker 12 (22:07):
Oh well, I'm a bridal consultant. Maybe I can help her.

Speaker 5 (22:10):
She needs all the help at this time.

Speaker 7 (22:15):
She's like Connor, there's too many options, and I'm like
such a perfectionist, So when I find one thing wrong,
I just move on to like somewhere else.

Speaker 12 (22:24):
Oh boy, we got to work on simplify.

Speaker 4 (22:27):
Yeah, I hear you.

Speaker 5 (22:29):
Compromise.

Speaker 12 (22:30):
It's all about you and your fiance.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
You're not about everybody else.

Speaker 12 (22:36):
Worry about anybody else.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
My gosh, Like listening to myself.

Speaker 7 (22:42):
In theory, I'm so wonderful, but in reality, it's like,
not the case.

Speaker 4 (22:48):
It should be the case your experience.

Speaker 12 (22:54):
Yeah, I've been.

Speaker 5 (22:54):
Trying to tell her. I was like, I'm going to
pick your date and I'm going to pick your venue.

Speaker 1 (22:57):
At this point, well, clock is ticking, my dear, you
heard it.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
Engagement. I think that's what she's trying to tell.

Speaker 4 (23:14):
Time really goes by so fast, it's crazy.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
Did I tell you she booked out Thanksgiving this year
for me to perform at her wedding, So you know
what that means. Ok, First of all, she canceled, cancel
it before I told you, So I didn't tell. I
didn't have the heart to tell you I was gonna be
there for Thanksgiving. But she can't say that like your
mom was OK about it.

Speaker 5 (23:40):
It's a good reaction, honestly.

Speaker 12 (23:43):
Oh, I'm just excited for you to make a decision,
my dear.

Speaker 4 (23:48):
Thank you, Thank you me too, Wisdom.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Happy birthday, Mom, Happy, I love.

Speaker 1 (23:53):

Speaker 1 (28:13):
Day, Thank you, happy, Thank you so much.

Speaker 5 (28:18):
I appreciate that.

Speaker 2 (28:19):
I'm a hustler bird. So it's our hometown hustler segment
of fun, celebrating local business here in southern California. Also,
somebody had a previous gig doing something that they love.
So Jared, who were about to talk to you of
speakeasy barbecue in Norco. Jared was a pastor at a
local church.

Speaker 4 (28:38):
I love that.

Speaker 2 (28:40):
So COVID hit. Now he's doing barbecue. Jared was he
was laid off when COVID came, so he started selling
barbecue from his porch. Like he's got a knack for
the queue, made some extra cash.

Speaker 4 (28:51):
Now wait to the queue.

Speaker 7 (28:53):
I love.

Speaker 2 (28:53):
It turns out that Jared is now doing this as
his full time business and he's and that's what we
celebrate with the hometown hustler Jared of Speakeasy Barbecue and Norcoe.

Speaker 6 (29:05):
How are you, bro, I'm doing great.

Speaker 10 (29:07):
How are you doing?

Speaker 2 (29:09):
I'm good? So take me back to your barbecute roots.
Like you started doing this, this was in your blood.
But yeah, you can't just go from your porch to
a popular spot without knowing what you're doing.

Speaker 10 (29:21):
Yeah, you know, I guess I've cooked as long as
I can remember. I've always loved cooked in and you know,
my friends when I was a teenager, eighteen maybe nineteen
used to always ask me, you know, if you could
do anything in the world, what would you do. And
I'm like, man, I'd run a beef and chicken joint.
And back then I rode Bulls and Bronx professionally. And

(29:49):
then I've just over the years, I've just done what
I've had to do instead of doing what I love
to do. And you know, I was laid off from
my full time job and I'd never been on unemployment
my whole life, you know, and they laid me off
as soon as it was declared a national emergency, and

(30:11):
I was I was bored at home and just started
smoking meat. And I remember telling my wife, Hey, you know,
I'm gonna I think I'm going to try selling barbecue online,
you know, a little selling family dinners and just to
make a little cash. And so my unemployment checks start
rolling in and we just posted it on social media

(30:34):
and the local forums and it just blew up.

Speaker 2 (30:37):
And this is Texas style barbecue, right, Yeah.

Speaker 10 (30:40):
We call it Texas style with a California vibe. So
you know, our rub, our house rub is a little
bit more like Santa Maria style. But and so we
just kind of like combined some of our favorite flavors.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
So Jared is of Speakey's Barbecue and Norco. This is
off to fifteen on Sixth Street in Orco. They've got
a Mother's Day special. Were gonna get too real quick.
But he's our hometown hustler. You know, any guy that
barbecues with a smoker and smokes his home meat, not
only do I trust, I feel safe around like I
feel protected around a meat smoking barbecue expert. Yeah, you know,

(31:16):
like I I would be next to you and there's
no threat at all.

Speaker 10 (31:22):
Yeah, a kind of a manly thing. I guess.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
I don't know. It's like I feel good and i'd
have a whack camera Sayinggria that you serve and just
enjoy myself, you know, letty get to me. So what
is the Mother's Day special? Because anybody in the area
you should check this out and support this local business.
Jared's got what's our Mother's Day Special there at Speakeasy, So.

Speaker 10 (31:43):
It's thirty two ninety nine all you can eat barbecue.
And this is kind of a first for us. We're
just kind of testing it out and see how it goes.
And yeah, I get you unlimited portions as much as
you can eat.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
Okay, well it looks amazing. The key is that slow
cook so it's so flavorful moist Jared to speak Easy
support this local business doing his own thing and making
it work, and I love that bro. Check him out
at Speak Underscore Easy Underscore Barbecue on Instagram. Congratulations Jared,
keep it up. I can smell it from here.

Speaker 4 (32:19):
I can too.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
Appreciate it, you know what I mean about? Barbecue may
feel good if our not me, or maybe if I
were me, I would want to be him.

Speaker 4 (32:35):
You don't want to do that.

Speaker 5 (32:36):
I feel like I've seen you.

Speaker 2 (32:38):
I don't. I I can cook, but like that is
that the master of a smoker in your backyard to
make tender barbecue is a real art. The closest to
me feeling safe of someone doing that here is Chups.

Speaker 4 (32:55):
And yeah, I would trust hubs did it too.

Speaker 7 (32:58):
But I feel like you're barely your so close to
being there if you maybe just tried YouTube videos.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
I need a smoker, Okay, I need a smoker and
your backyard great done? All right? Uh you know what
I'm saying. Though, I love that guy, really do support
him from Mother's Day. That'd be great. And all you
can eat is with that. So one thousand dollars to
pay bill go to the A one eight. Now, Ruby
wants to tell us about a clothing store in downtown
LA that's live streaming their store all day every day.

(33:25):
Is that right?

Speaker 14 (33:26):
Yes, there there is this local clothing store that is
doing that. You're basically live on TikTok all day every day.

Speaker 2 (33:32):
When you shot there. Yes, what about trying stuffun.

Speaker 5 (33:36):
Not in the not in the rooms, No, not in
the dressing rooms.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
That's even when I try stuff, well, not in the
room but even when I try stuff fun and I
walk out, look in the mirror that's on the wall.
I don't know you should need the poses I do.
I don't want that live streaming sistany has gone home
sick now. I don't want to mention it. But feel better?

Speaker 4 (33:57):
Yes, yes, feel better? Don't you need anything? We're here,
we got.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
Are here and matter of fact, we're here and you're
not and you should not be here, but we are.
So if you need anything, reach out. But I don't
want to mention this. But didn't she just tell us
the kids were sick, yes, that one one had it,
then the other one had it, and then she came
in and said, but it's not contagious, so she's not
going to get it. Yes, but then she got it.

Speaker 7 (34:22):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
So how are we feeling?

Speaker 4 (34:23):
I'm stressed.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
I don't know what's going on, but I think I
need to use the potty.

Speaker 7 (34:28):
Yeah, I you know, I may Yeah.

Speaker 4 (34:34):
What's the word. It's like phantom symptoms when you think
you're getting.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
Something impostor phantom. Yeah, I don't know. I feel a
bowel movement.

Speaker 4 (34:41):
Feeling phantom symptoms. I'm like stressed.

Speaker 2 (34:45):
But is that because we think it's happening to us now.
She was very I'm a doctor adamant about the fact
that it's not contagious. Exactly do you remember this?

Speaker 4 (34:54):
Yes, Mark, Mark.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
I remember she said this is more of a kid thing. Yes, Well,
who told her that adults can't get it because the doctors? Yeah,
well she needs to rethink her carecter.

Speaker 4 (35:08):
I'm with you.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
I mean, because we all looked at each other and
we're like, okay, but it doesn't sound right.

Speaker 4 (35:15):
I was not like I was the only one. I
was like anybody else stressed out.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
Now she's vomiting, and remember she was talking about having
to hold the kid's hair back. Should we bet who's
next and have a little Why not? Let's have a
tote board. Oh, it's it's where we're going to keep
track of who wins a tally board. Oh, both, Mark

(35:40):
explained it. While I talked to say, those are the
same kind of idea. Yeah, explained to her. Why I
talked to Ruby. Uh, but one of us is going
to get it. And honestly, I feel the gurgle in
my tummy right now. I don't know if it's something
I ate, if it's imposture, or if it's that virus
the adults can't catch.

Speaker 7 (35:59):
It's for her imposter because we couldn't have caught it
that fast from her that fast.

Speaker 2 (36:04):
She's had it for a couple of days in here.

Speaker 7 (36:06):
No, no, no, But I'm saying like I think it
leaped from kid to kid like a few days after
So if we go down, we're going down in a
couple days.

Speaker 2 (36:13):
Oh, something to look forward to. Okay, So let's go
downtown and on top of this clothing store that is
streaming live on TikTok every day. What do they what's happening? Yeah?

Speaker 14 (36:24):
So, how would you feel about being filmed for TikTok
as soon as you entered a clothing store?

Speaker 2 (36:29):
Well, it's not then, it's when I try something on
and I do ridiculous contorting of my abdomen and my cheeks.

Speaker 14 (36:38):
Yes, it's it's your sony face.

Speaker 2 (36:43):
But I like the way I stand to see if
clothes look good on me. I would never stand in,
but that's the only way I'll buy them.

Speaker 5 (36:49):
Yeah, one hundred percent.

Speaker 14 (36:50):
While at Elegant Fashion on Eleventh and Maple in the
Fashion District, they're always live, so they basically have the
TikTok on live at all times. So when you walk
into the store, there's all these signs that say smile,
you're on the camera, so basically letting you know that
they are recording you twenty four to seven.

Speaker 2 (37:09):
And is it helping with sales? What's happening.

Speaker 14 (37:12):
So they did this because they want people to feel
more comfortable before coming into the shop. But they also
started doing this because they said that they were getting
a lot of interactions with rude customers, and so they
just wanted it to be like a warning if you're
going to be rude, you're always.

Speaker 2 (37:26):
Going to be live. Like, I'm for that because I
don't I'm not a person that I don't tolerate the rudeness.
I don't like it. I don't like I don't like
it when people don't say hi and I say hi
to them when I'm walking to like a stranger, you
know exactly.

Speaker 5 (37:41):
It's just not necessary.

Speaker 14 (37:43):
But but what's also cool is that you can get
feedback from people right like on the live they'll tell
you like, no, you should go with the red dress,
or go with the blue dress, or you look better
in that gold dress.

Speaker 2 (37:54):
Pick that one instead.

Speaker 14 (37:55):
Yeah, So it's like thousands of people letting you know, like, no,
you should take the black dress.

Speaker 2 (38:00):
They're telling you, yeah, which is the right choice for you,
because we can be biased and frankly, a consensus is
a good idea.

Speaker 5 (38:10):
Yeahs too, right.

Speaker 2 (38:14):
Okay, we're gonna shine the light on something really cool.
A spotlight here on a standout teacher from Santa Clarita.
His name is Casey Cooney. Casey Cooney's a high school
honors English and senior myth and folklore teacher at Valencia
High School. Represented California at the White House last week
for the first Teachers of the Year state dinner. So

(38:36):
congratulations to you, Casey Cooney. Congratulations.

Speaker 8 (38:41):
Let me thank you guys.

Speaker 2 (38:42):
What was it like to go to the White House
being honored for being our representative in the world of teachers?

Speaker 8 (38:50):
It was truly magical, you know it was. It was
just such an incredible experience. I was able to take
my son, which was really cool, and he was the
class of twenty twenty, so he joked, this is the
prom I never got.

Speaker 2 (39:02):
Oh yeah, I get that. Well, wait, what did they
do when you got to the White House? Did you eat?
Did they what did they serve?

Speaker 8 (39:09):
Oh? Yeah, I mean they brought us all through. We
took pictures with doctor Biden, doctor Joe Biden, the first lady.
We hung out in this reception area that was really
cool with all these senators and House of Representatives members
and Cabinet members. And then eventually they brought us up
to the dining room and then we're at our tables
and the seat next to me was open, and then

(39:29):
suddenly they announced the second Gentleman, Doug M. Hoff, And
the second gentleman walked in and he came right over
and sat down next to me, which was crazy, and
we were talking all throughout dinner.

Speaker 2 (39:40):
What an honor to be recognized for your great work
as a teacher and your dedication to the classroom. They're
also significant because I was reading that you overcame childhood cancer. Yes.

Speaker 8 (39:53):
Yeah, I had a bone cancer in eighth grade, eighth grade,
ninth grade, and it definitely informed my decision to become
a teacher because of my teachers that were so pivotal
in that time of my life. And really I credit
with you know, saving my life and then teaching me
what I was capable of in the aftermath.

Speaker 2 (40:12):
That's amazing, and I mean, I'm glad you're feeling so
good and also giving back in the way that you
felt that impact happened to you. What about senior myth
and folklore? I don't even know where to stay.

Speaker 4 (40:22):
Does that mean?

Speaker 2 (40:23):
What does that mean?

Speaker 8 (40:26):
It's literally my passion, it's mythology, it's world mythology. We
just read Gilgamesh. We did an amazing myth from Japan
about Amasarasu, the sun goddess. And but really I'm teaching seniors,
you know, to hopefully view their lives as a as
a hero's journey, and that they're their own hero on
their journey, and that the trials and the tribulations of

(40:48):
life are all part of it. And we learned from
the tough times and embrace them, and then cherish the
glory glorious times and embrace those as well.

Speaker 4 (40:58):
My gosh, we are our own heroes.

Speaker 8 (41:02):
I think I see it that way, and you know,
I tell them I want you to You could see
your life as a boring history of events, but I
want you to see your life as a poem, where
events might have more significance or meaning than just something
listed on a timeline.

Speaker 2 (41:17):
Wow, it's very profound. It actually resonates. This is Casey
Cooney Santa Clarita, who was just at the White House
being honored for the Teachers of the Year state dinner. Congratulations,
thank you for representing our state here in California and
continued success. We really appreciate what you're doing and the
other teachers that are being honored and all the teachers

(41:39):
that are being celebrated this week and every week.

Speaker 8 (41:41):
Yeah. So that's the big thing is that I'm just
representing the teachers of California. And there are so many
amazing teachers in the state, and I think they're doing
such great work. I believe that the democracy depends on
a robust public education system, and I think teachers are
going in every day and tireless doing the work and

(42:01):
you know, trying to make a difference. And so I'm
just honored to represent them.

Speaker 2 (42:06):
All right, Well, thank you, big hugs to you, and
keep it up. You take care, Casey Cooney, Santa Clarida,
our great teacher, Take care, buddy. Hey you guys all right,
bye bye? H So cool. What an honor. What a
great way to sum up life as a poem.

Speaker 4 (42:22):
You don't understand. I'm gonna be thinking about that all weekend.

Speaker 2 (42:25):
All right, let's get to our trending report, Tony. Then
I have to pay a bill, so here we go.

Speaker 7 (42:29):
Okay, So we all know Taylor Swift revisited her feud
with Kim Kardashian in the Tortured Poets Department in the
track Thank You Amy.

Speaker 4 (42:36):
Right, we all saw that.

Speaker 7 (42:38):
But that's not the only Bad Blood returning to the spotlight.
So Warner Brothers, Discovery UK and Ireland will dissect Taylor's
public clash with Scooter Braun over the ownership of her
music on the new season of Versus, the docu series,
and it's airing on Discovery Plus. So basically, it's Taylor
Swift versus Scooter Braun Bad Blood. It's going to be
a two hour long episode and it's going to follow

(43:00):
both sides of the argument. So one hour is going
to be Taylor's side and the other hour is going
to be Scooter side, and it's going to be legal experts, journalists,
and individuals close to Taylor and Scooter that will present
their input in the series. There's no date attached to
this yet, so I will definitely keep my eye on
it and keep you posted. But it's something that I'm
definitely going to watch because I've obviously been so invested

(43:24):
in this Taylor Scooter saga. But it's weird because I
feel like because of this feud that they had, we've
been blessed as fans, as Swifties, because who knows if
we ever would have gotten these Vault tracks had she
not had this feud with Scooter Braun.

Speaker 2 (43:41):
Do you know? I was reading a story and watching
the news about her now in Europe, right, so she
launched her tour arastour there. She's in Paris, and it's
like twenty percent of the ticket sales for the European
venues are US citizens, people who live here who couldn't
get tickets. They have gone over there, as we talked about.

Speaker 4 (43:58):
Because they're much cheaper there.

Speaker 2 (44:00):
The tickets are traveling go. But we talked about that
whole concept of making it a vacation, a contrition, gig trip.
I like concertcation.

Speaker 4 (44:09):
I like concertation too. Actually, gig tripping makes me feel
like I'm guilt tripping.

Speaker 2 (44:13):
If I say concertation. MICHAELA, what comes to.

Speaker 5 (44:16):
Mind traveling for a concert making it a vacation.

Speaker 2 (44:19):
It's not too close to constipation, is it.

Speaker 5 (44:23):
I didn't think of that.

Speaker 2 (44:25):
What I call it concert concertcation, concert concertcation, concertcation. I
think it rolls off the tongue. It's not constellation, it's
not the other one. It's concertation.

Speaker 4 (44:36):
I think so to it always makes It's like, who
wants gig tripping?

Speaker 2 (44:39):
No, you want concertcations, staycation, concertation. Mark take it to sales.
Let's sell this.

Speaker 4 (44:46):
Youman sales lately.

Speaker 2 (44:48):
Well, I know, I'm just trying. I'm working for all
the departments here. Have commercial, we can run that. I'm
going to summer myself. I'm gonna summer up my legs
this weekend.

Speaker 4 (44:59):
Say what are you gonna set the What are you
gonna say?

Speaker 2 (45:01):
I'm gonna set the guard at something and trim them up.
I think you're gonna see some hairless knee. It's that weekend.
It's the weekend that I should get it done. So
I'm gonna I'm gonna maintain to I don't want to
peer press you, but I would recommend you also use
a guard. Trim it down a little bit, trim it
up a little bit, but trim it down a little bit.
Trim what your leg hair that's too much, No's I

(45:25):
know it is.

Speaker 5 (45:26):
It's a little patchy, but.

Speaker 2 (45:28):
But you're very dense. Don't you want to be less dense? Yeah?
When you like to your leg to shine a little bit,
a little shine. Yeah, it's gonna be nice this weekend.
We'll see. Okay, Well it doesn't sound so on board.

Speaker 4 (45:40):
Uh, it's common.

Speaker 7 (45:41):
I don't know a lot of I don't know personally
a lot of men that shave their legs.

Speaker 2 (45:46):
Well, let's talk to the back room. Ruby. Does your
fiance shave his legs or trim?

Speaker 14 (45:51):
No, David doesn't. But my brother does shave his legs.

Speaker 2 (45:54):
Does he have nice legs? I don't. Sam. Does your
boyfriend shave his legs or maintain? No, he does not.
Would you do you want him to? Ummm, that's a yes. Okay, Mikaela.
If you were dating someone, would you want them to
maintain their legs?

Speaker 5 (46:15):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (46:16):
No, I never thought about it.

Speaker 2 (46:18):
Well, take some time. We'll come back to you. Veryone
else back there? Who else? There?

Speaker 6 (46:22):
Hi?

Speaker 2 (46:23):
Marianna, where's your dogs?

Speaker 4 (46:25):
You want to say that?

Speaker 14 (46:26):
I do want my man to be have harry legs
for some reason?

Speaker 2 (46:31):
At Arms, you guys are out of touch. Goodness, I'm here,
I'm right touch. The weekend watch List just let's get
to the weekend watch list. Sistani is not here. She
wanted me to watch Unfrosted on Netflix. She said that
in nineteen sixty three, Kellogg's and Post were serial rivals,

(46:53):
and the race to create a pastry that will change
the face of breakfast forever is Jerry Seinfeld in this one,
and she said I would love it. So I'm gonna
take Systey's recommendation. And she's not feeling well, so definitely, Sysney,
thank you and feel better. Tony. What's on your weekend
watch list?

Speaker 7 (47:06):
So this one's a little bit different for me. It's
not a dating or competition show. It is Baby Reindeer.
It's on Netflix.

Speaker 2 (47:15):
Hey, everybody's telling me to watch this too.

Speaker 7 (47:16):
Yes, me too, And so I was like, you know what,
We're gonna watch it. So we're only on episode three
and I'm very into it. But it's an interesting concept.
It's a man dealing with a female stalker, and it's
interesting to see the setup and kind of how he
played into it in the beginning. I haven't finished it yet,
but all seven episodes are streaming now on Netflix, and

(47:37):
I'll get back to.

Speaker 4 (47:38):
You if I do finish it. Because Oh, I don't know.
I'm scared.

Speaker 2 (47:41):
I may jump in on that one. Ruby. What's on
your weekend watch list?

Speaker 14 (47:44):
So mine is called Love Undercover on Peacock and it's
basically Ted Lasso meets Love is Blind. Yes, I'm gonna
binge this this weekend.

Speaker 2 (47:54):
All the Auctioneer was sucked from both studios live.

Speaker 14 (47:58):
International soccer stars are trying to find true love. But
the catch is they basically go undercover. So these women
have no idea that they are these huge international soccer superstars.
They don't find out until the end, so they go undercover.

Speaker 5 (48:12):
They're like, oh, I work in construction.

Speaker 2 (48:14):
Yeah, this is right up my alley.

Speaker 4 (48:15):
Yeah, this is right up my alley.

Speaker 2 (48:18):
Well good, all right, good suggestion. And American Idol is
on on Sunday, right up my alley. I will be there.
It's Disney Night. It's Disney Night, so big family night
of programming. If you want to watch with the kids
Disney Night. I will tell you this that the other night,
during the middle of the night between this show and
this show, I went down with Katy Perry Luke and

(48:39):
Lionel and there's a number, a singing number, and I
sing with them in this number for the first time.

Speaker 7 (48:48):
Wow, that I gotta watch and it.

Speaker 2 (48:51):
Is a little jarring, I might say, because they're pros.
But I don't hate it. Oh, I don't hate. I
hate the outcome. But let me know if you get
a chance to see that. That's at the top of
the show on Sunday at five and Sunday at five
and Sunday at eight live on AB Seats all night
long Live. Top three will be revealed. Very exciting. King Brown,

(49:12):
It's gonna mentor So that's cool, love him with Ryan Seacrest,
Gonna roll out, enjoy your weekend. Let us actually make
some notes about what fun stuff you get into this
weekend and talk to us on Monday about that. I'd

follow her flake? We shall see follow Sisney feel better? Sisney,
her kids had a little vomit virus and now she
has it, so we'll get it. Next is the game
we're playing and we could spin the wheel. Uh, and

(49:58):
let's go to the back room. M hmm. I don't know.
If I want to know what you guys talked about
while we were doing the show. I might want to
know anybody have anything fun this weekend? They're going to
do that? We want to live by KEROSEI through or
rehash on Monday. Who's got the biggest plans? Sam? Why
are you even here? Like you're never here?

Speaker 4 (50:13):
What you said?

Speaker 7 (50:15):
Say Sam, it's such a delight to see you.

Speaker 2 (50:18):
It brings you here today. It brings you here because
normally you're not in person.

Speaker 4 (50:22):
I know.

Speaker 2 (50:23):
It was my boyfriend.

Speaker 9 (50:24):
Yeah, it was my boyfriend's birthday, so I decided to
come it down and I figured I should.

Speaker 5 (50:29):
Come say hi.

Speaker 2 (50:30):
I like it, make it more regular, more often.

Speaker 4 (50:33):
Love having Sam here.

Speaker 9 (50:35):
I know, I love coming to see everyone.

Speaker 2 (50:37):
What did your boyfriend with the unkept legs want to
do for his birthday? You know?

Speaker 9 (50:41):
He actually wanted to have three full meals out so
we I know, so we tried, but we only made
it to like a late lunch and then we had
to tap out because it was so much food.

Speaker 2 (50:53):
I love him.

Speaker 4 (50:54):
Yeah, that's a cute plan.

Speaker 5 (50:55):
That is a good idea.

Speaker 2 (50:56):
That's what I want to I know, I know, And
then we ended up.

Speaker 9 (51:00):
I ended up just standing near Lax and watching planes
take off because he loves.

Speaker 2 (51:07):
I have to tell you that time. You know, when
a plane is landing and you're on the four or five,
I stole down to time it so I'm right under
it when it crosses over the four or five and
I read the big delta on the belly of the plane.
It's so fun. Yeah, so fun. It was fun. It's
actually fun, and it is fun.

Speaker 4 (51:23):
You and Matt just, you know, laying down watching the
airplanes go.

Speaker 2 (51:28):
Watching planes take off. It's fascinating. All right, Well, thank
you everybody. Every good weekend. We will talk to you
tomorrow for America Top forty Sunday morning, eighteen forty Sunday
night for American Idol. And you just escape Systney. Who's
gonna do Sysney show?

Speaker 10 (51:40):
