Speaker 1 (00:00):
Harry Styles says it what number one eight music station.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
I got your morning hacket if you if you're going
camp in this summer's going to keep the mosquitoes away.
And I feel like we talked about it before, but
it's always good to remind her this time of year.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
To Tanya, before we go any further, we need to
have a house meeting.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
Have you ever had one of these?
Speaker 1 (00:22):
Have I ever had one of these house meeting? Uh?
Speaker 3 (00:25):
A skunk at your house?
Speaker 1 (00:26):
I have.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
I've had squirrels in my wall and I've had a
skunk somewhere in the house. We've had to call for
the skunk remover to skunk okay.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
So it's not so easy because when I lived in
an apartment, if I had a skunk, I'd call my
landlord and be like, hey, there's a skunk and figure
it out, and they would do it. When you live
in a house, it's very different situation.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
The skunk is your problem. Where tell us about when
did you start smelling the skunk?
Speaker 3 (00:50):
So we didn't smell and we saw him so.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Sunny, then you're good.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
No, no, no, Sonny. Our dog was like losing her mind,
like barking outside the wind and Robby and I go
and we look out there and we're like, oh my gosh,
we've never seen a skunk this close in person. It
was kind of like in the sidewalk in front.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
Of our house. And am I taller than a skunk?
Speaker 3 (01:11):
Way taller? It's like probably the size of your hand, no,
actually the side of your arm, the size of your arm.
And it looked like it was hurt, like it looked
like maybe it had been run over, and like it
was because it was going so slow, like it was
moving at like a snail's pace.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
But it's a skunk.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
But it's a skunk and we know that they go fast.
So we're like, Okay, the skunk is injured. What do
we do?
Speaker 1 (01:29):
Because he's like, we should help the skunk. What if
we get sprayed? Correct?
Speaker 3 (01:33):
So cut to the skunk ends up somehow moving and
like now he's in our doorway, he's on like our
doormat in front of our front door.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
He really needs a band aid.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
So Robbie calls the La County Animal Services to tell them, hey,
we have the skunk, and they were like, well, how
injured is the skunk?
Speaker 1 (01:49):
And he's like, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
I'm not like going up and giving him an inspection, right,
And they were like, because what they do is they
come and they euthanize to kind of like if they
get run over by car and stuff, to kind of
put them out of their misery. Then you have to
call La Sanitation to come and remove the body. And
Robbie was like, well, we don't want to kill the skunk.
The skunk seems to be moving and fine.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
It's kind of cartoony.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
So then we gave up that route. So then we're
like at work, we come home from work, the skunk
is now in our.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Backyard because the skunk's making skunk at home.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
Yes, and Sonny is actually the skunk.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
I overheard the call like they're not going to do
anything with me. I'm good. Yeah, So we started.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
Now we named him pepe pepe le Pume, And now
he's in our backyard and we can't let Sonny out
to go potty because.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
He's living in your backyard. He's healing, yes, and he's
not sprayed.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
He has not sprayed. This is good. Maybe he knows
that you're trying to help out. He's not gonna spray.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
So then I got the phone number to this guy
who comes to your house, collects this skunk and then
releases them off the ninety one freeway in Orange County.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Is this just a random dude?
Speaker 3 (02:48):
This is some random dude because apparently it's illegal, Like
you can't advertise that because the freeway. Yeah, I don't know,
you're not supposed to like move animals.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Like I remember I had gerbils, and my gerbils had
babies and I let them go in the church parking
lot and everybody was like, oh my gosh, you.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
Can't do that right right, But now we've lost The
skunk went to some shrubbery and now we've lost We've
lost Pete.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
But that's okay. Maybe he's gone out back into the wild.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
I smelled a little skunky smell on my way to
work this morning, so I know Pepe is still around.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
That is a really interesting thing.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Yeah, you're trying to do But I love that you
guys are trying to do the right thing here.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
Well, I know, because we're like, he's not injured to
the like. I guess the point that they come is
if you know when car car misery.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
Yeah, but we're like this guy that's picking up animals
and taken into the freeway, Like, when does he decide
that's going to be his side hustle.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
I know, I don't think it's a side hustle. I
think it's because of this issue. Like a lot of
people have these animals and they'll call, you know, like
County they didn't want to euthanize the animal, but they
don't know what.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
To They call herb correct. I don't even know his name,
Herbs the skunk Rescuer.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
How wild though?
Speaker 3 (04:03):
And then I saw Chrissy Tiegan on her Instagram story
they have a skunk at their house too, am I go.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
On her pet based I don't know how close you
guys live there, Maybe he's roaming around. Well, thanks for
being sweet to Pep bang Man, good morning.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
Hack is next? How to keep mosquitoes away from your skunk,
I mean your campsite.
