Speaker 1 (00:00):
Two seven Kiss FM. This is a great story. This
is a vibe, this is a good viber. There's a
woman named Helena and she shared the story on social
media on TikTok actually, and she shared that her sister
was going in to take a standardized test four years
ago and the testing center and I just get that
feeling of talking like thinking of how I did not.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Do well in those kinds of tests.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Same.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
The testing center called the day before with details, and
there was a woman that worked at the testing center
that left her this message. Here's how you prepare, here's
you need to think about. Here's what you gotta do. Listen, Elia,
this is.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Problem that's giving you a courtesy call for your grid
that's tomorrow. It sowll know that you can arrive forty
five minutes early. If you come early, we start you early. Missimelia.
This is what she studied for. This is what you
work hard for. Bring your best girl confidence, bring your
best girl magic. It's called girl power. Girl power is
the best. Probably ain't nothing better than that. Just come confident,

(00:56):
come prepare, and just tell yourself I worked hard for it,
and come with a smile, because I'll have one already now.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
That's someone that loves again.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
So Helena and her sister listen to that voicemail, you know,
day after day, week after week, after all the testing
years later, because it motivates them and it reminds them
of how a simple motivation can really help in the
things in life. And social media did its thing and
tracked down to Meeka Rooks because she wanted to meet
that person. She didn't know her name, but they found
her from the testing center and it was four years ago.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
We got her on the line.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Now, Tamika Rooks is in Boston. Now, Tamika, good morning.
It's Ryan Seacrest. Nice to meet too.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Nice to meet you, Ryan.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Tell me, are you still working at the testing center?

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Yes? I am.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
And do you always go to that work?

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Right now?

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Where you are? Do you have to make any calls?
You want me to join you?

Speaker 3 (01:54):
F Aenny, we'll see somebody already or.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
Somebody made the call. Do you have anybody? Are there
any other students we should we could call them motivate.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Yeah, we can. We can actually recall some of them people.
Yeah you didn't.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Yeah, let's do it. Go ahead, you die, Okay, you
do your thing, I'll do my thing. You know what goes?

Speaker 3 (02:15):
All right?

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Yes, sir, Okay, here we go, jump right in.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Hi, Sarah, how are you today? I'm doing good. This
is Prometrics giving you a courtesy call for your exam
that is tomorrow at eleven fifteen. You need to reschedule, honey,
Why what's the problem? So okay, so let's say this.
You know that you also can if you can, if

(02:45):
you talk to me, I can work with you with
your time. If you need to come in earlier, if
you need to come in late, I don't mind accommodating
you if that's the problem, because I really don't want
you to miss your exam.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
I gotta tell you, Sarah, Tamika is very flexible here
and he's gonna, you know, try and make sure you
get in so we don't get off track right and
get that test taken. So, by the way, my name
is Ryan Seacrest. I'm working with Tamika today on the
outgoing calls.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
Okay, that's all right. Well, let me let me say
this to you, honey, don't ever think that you can't
move forward and don't let nothing hold you back. If
this is what you want to do, then you'll make
time for it. At this given point, you have other
important things that you need to put forth, so this
can be on hold. We are not going nowhere. They
got a million testing centers, you know what I'm saying,
So whenever you're ready to come, it's here for you.

(03:34):
So you know, just come when need be.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Have a good day.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Bye bye. Well Ryan, I'm sorry that one didn't go
with court.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
So lovely. Now do you generally like tailor your conversation?

Speaker 3 (03:58):
I don't. I'm just come natural, you know what I'm saying.
Like you said, to tailor it to each individual, like
just to make them feel comfortable when they come in.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
But what I love to make who's calling from the
testing center to set up students so that they're ready
and prepared, they get the right mindset, Like we're all
nervous for tests. Why do we get nervous for tests?
Kind of make that point. Hearing someone like you on
the other end makes me feel like, Okay, I can
do this. I'm not alone.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
I can go in and I can get this test.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Done and and be the best me. And I think
it also shows to Meika how much you care and
love your job.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
Yeah, I do, cause I like talking to people.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Ryan, I'm like, youde, we should do a podcast.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Of course, why not. I don't see why not, you.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Know, and Tamika Rooks could come back with a positive spin.
I like, exactly, yes, I like that.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
You're awesome for that. Well, you know, Ryan, I The
thing is is, you know a lot of people, they
do come here and they do be stressed. But it's
like in my head like it's they happen to just
take a breather step back, and my second guests themselves,
they'll put theyself right right where they need to be.
But it's all about creating the environment, the atmosphere and

(05:10):
letting people know that we are here, like this testing
center right here, I'm trying to beef it up to
the biggest one in the world if I possibly can.
You know, that's my that's my goal. That's to maintain
people and keep them smiling. Like the candidate walking out
the door.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
We need you every now and then on our show
at the beginning of it to get us ready to
me thank you for coming on.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
It's so super nice to meet you. Keep up the
positive spirit.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
Nice to meet you to Ryan. I appreciate it. I
was like, Ryan Seacrest wants to interview me, get that
out of here, like you made my freaking day. I
was like, oh, Snell, what are we doing now? No,
you you definitely made my day and I appreciate it
so much and thanks for the opportunity of being on
your show. It is oh and don't forget Ryan. Don't

(05:56):

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Everybody does need it to meet everybody needs is Tamika.
I will never forget that. Big hugs to you, Tamika.
You take a care.
