Speaker 1 (00:00):
Serena Carpenter is Feather on Kiss FM.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
It's Ryan Seacrest, Any, Tanya, everybody is here this morning.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
Go to have you with us on a Tuesday, July night.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
So we were talking earlier about meditation and Tany is
a very rigid definition of what meditation is, and I
just think for me it is.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
The definition of what it is.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
No, I don't believe you because I say I can't
and Sisney, I agree, we can't. I'm not good at
mantraing meditation or doing what a lot of people do,
and I know it's good for you where they can
go sit on a bench and take ten minutes and
not think about stuff or trying not to think about
stuff and repeat a mantra.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
I can't do that.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
I do find it meditative to go to the coast,
to go to the beach, to go not get in
the water because I think it's polluted right now, but
go to the beach and watch the sunset. If I
have an opportunity to do that, especially in the summer.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
Nights when it's a year later version of it.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
That's a version of meditation to me. Another version of
meditation to me is running.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
I can see that's meditation.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
It can be you can see how it clears the mind.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
So you are the reason I bring this up again
is you're cutting down, Tanya on your social media and
you're cutting down on drinking.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
I'm trying to cut down on those two things.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
And when how long has this attempt been active?

Speaker 3 (01:17):
About five days?

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Why would you try cutting down on drinking in the summer? Summer?

Speaker 3 (01:22):
Is like, because that's the problem.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Keep saying it's Tuesdays fay right.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
Right, yes, wednesdayday all the time. And I'm just like,
I don't sleep my best when I drink alcohol, so
I it's I always regret it the next day. And
I'm like, why am I doing this? So I'm trying
to cut down to two drinks.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
A week meaning.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Enjoy Robbie, no, like two sessions like okay, so two
nights of noting out.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Correct or like whatever am I choosing?

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Is that was a very astute detail.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
You shouldn't be more than that.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
That's not cutting down for me. And then how many
sessions of social media are you cutting?

Speaker 4 (02:16):
So that's the other thing I've found. I've been becoming
very Stagnan's not the right word.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Uh, it takes me a lot.

Speaker 4 (02:23):
No, it takes me a lot longer to get something
done than it ever has my life. And I'm like,
this is crazy that this just took me an hour
and it should have taken me ten minutes. And I
realize it's because I get distracted and I go and
I start looking through my phone. I get sucked into TikTok,
sucked into whatever. No, so now I'm trying to put
my phone down whenever I'm doing tasks, and I'm not

(02:44):
allowed to look at it until I finish the task.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
What happens if you need your phone for the task.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Sometimes that happens to me, and then I do get lost,
like I'll always I'm like a on Instagram when I
wanted to check my email.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
Right or like you just see to send a quick
text like what time is thissappointment?

Speaker 3 (02:56):
Need to start scrawling. I can't do it. I can't
do it.

Speaker 4 (02:59):
It hasn't happened yet.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Get a ship phone.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
It feels it feels way harsh.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Yeah, I like what you I like what you're trying
to do. It is tough to do it in summer. Fact,
this is a fall. This is like an octoberg.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Over in September. January first type of thing.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Yeah, this is the dry January, no social January program.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
I know, like this is social months.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Whatever you need.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
I'm really with you on the putting the phone down
in a way when trying to focus on something, because
I too find that, oh my gosh, I can't get
through a page I'm trying to read because I've got
my phone in my lap and i keep having to
reread the same page over and over again, and I'm
trying to respond to what I'm reading and it's just
too overwhelming.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
Yeah, Like I.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
Was doing this a global entry application that should take
five minutes, and it took me forty five minutes the
other day because I was just like, they.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Should not let you enter. Yeah, it takes you that long,
it should be denied entry. All right, coming out your
morning hack, this is something you and your partner should do.
You got to do this before you go to sleep.
They say it's going to make your relationship healthier, it's
gonna lasts longer, it's going to diffuse any detention coming up.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
