that a lot of people are talking about. It's very interesting.
Doctors are trying to set a new norm when it
comes to what our menstrual cycles.

Speaker 4 (00:51):
As most women know, being on your period, menstrual cycles
in general just a lot to deal with or PMS scene.
We might be cranky, we might be tired, might be irritated.
So is there something that could be done when it
comes to actually having to come to work. Well, a
California doctor is urging businesses to give female employees three
days off each month, why not in order for them

(01:13):
to deal with their menstrual cycle. And so, doctor Mindy
Pels says that male workers should also be able to
get the same number of days off, just.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
To keep it fair. Don't know if that's necessary or
not fair.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Give them a uterus, but I.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Think we'll pass on that and just take the days
to work. Okay.

Speaker 4 (01:31):
And this is where I think maybe Tong is going
to disagree with me. I don't personally think it's necessary
for us to take three days off, like, but what
about having the option having I guess sure, So I
guess an equivalent that you're saying, like, I shouldn't have
to use a sick day if I'm really feeling so
sick because my period. It's like, that's not fair? Yeah,

(01:51):
like you just don't abuse it. I think it might
be fine.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
It would need to be the honor system.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
So where do you draw the line on this? Because
I got my period when I was twelve, Like when
I was in my teens, my cramps were way worse
than they are now.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
So like I could have been able.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
To take off school.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Yeah, what are those Where do you draw the line? Basically?

Speaker 4 (02:08):
School work all that.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
So have they started to do this anywhere they have?
Have they tested this?

Speaker 4 (02:14):
Of course they've had in Europe, Spain entitled workers to
paid menstrual leave, giving women three to five days off
per month. And meanwhile, in Indonesia, female workers don't have
to work on the first two days of their menstrual cycle.
If there experience any pain whatsoever, we can have.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
A proper pole. Right here, we have a proper pole. Tanya,
your vote, yes, Ruby, your vote yes.

Speaker 5 (02:39):
I actually had a boss when I used to work
at the Four Seasons.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
She would let us take off it the Four Seasons.

Speaker 5 (02:45):
Yeah, at the gift shop, but yeah, she would let
us take off for for if we were on our periods.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
A modern woman right there, all right, I don't feel
any pain. I mean I kind of just deal with it.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Mikaila, I vote yes. Anybody else back there want to
get in on this.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
I just like the fact that these conversations are happening,
that's your I mean, like it's not necessarily I'm such
an advocate about like talking about periods and having these conversations.
I don't necessarily want to take three days off a
month because of my period or my cramps. But I
just like that these conversations are being had because I
just feel like that word is still so taboo, and

(03:26):
it's just like such a part of our everyday lives.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
I think it just needs to come down to us
being completely honest. And then if it's really that bad,
you say to Ryan or to Mark or to whoever,
like you really can't come in today because of my period,
And then Mark.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
I trust you all. I don't need you to tell me.
I believe you without you.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Can tell when I'm on my when I have my
bad day.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
I don't know that. I can't. Really.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
I feel like there's one day a month. I feel
like the grim Reaper has come and just.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
Can you identify going forward everything she's like over sensitive
to everything, she thinks that everyone's against her, and then
she'll crush.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
I don't recognize all, honestly, I don't. I don't think
that's one day and I don't recognize it as a
difficult day or a different day.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
Personality.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
It's just like the stripes of who she is.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Do you ever get like, do you ever want snacks
or fruit treats?

Speaker 4 (04:21):
Chocolate, red meat, all that fruit?

Speaker 1 (04:24):
No food treat?

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Yeah, because I think that it's it's I mean, it's
one thing to try and help out with co eating
food treats, you know, so you're in it together that moment.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
Yeah, that's true.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
I mean mine's more like a burger than.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
Because I'm saying that.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
With you, it's very sweet.
