Now, like, good morning, how are you?
Speaker 7 (04:56):
Good morning man?
Speaker 4 (04:58):
Good morning Garrett. So you've got a tip for us
for what is it for waking up and not waking
up your partner?
Speaker 7 (05:07):
Yeah? I think last week you guys were talking. Well,
first of all, it's good tray on the show. I
listen every morning on the way to work, so thanks
for thanks entertaining me on the commute, and I'm all
about to drip coffee too, right, So don't don't want
them tell you your life.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
I'm not knocking it. I'm just saying I personally don't
have time.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
Sound like you were hating it.
Speaker 7 (05:29):
So anyway, last week you guys were talking about getting
up early in your alarms and all your terrible funding
alarms that wake you up, and I just wanted to
call in with a tip. I wake up a lot
earlier than my wife and so, and your sleep is precious.
You've got two kids. And this actually started when I
(05:49):
had my first kid, because you did a lot of
co sleeping in the bed with us, and so I
didn't want to wake him up, and I didn't want
to wake my wife up. And so I found online
this little disc, a little vibrating disc that bluetooth connects
to my phone battery powered, and you stick it under
your pillow and it vibrates you awake.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
Oh my gosh, can you does it feel like there's
a p under there or can you feel it like
do you know it's under there.
Speaker 7 (06:18):
I don't feel the disc under my pillow because it's
only about like a quarter inch thick. Oh yeah, it's
like it's like having your phone on vibrate next to
your head.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
Right, say, well, I just thinking, I don't know what
it's doing your brain. But think for me. Is I
flip my pillow back and forth left and right? You
the map?
Speaker 7 (06:41):
Probably I'm not. I'm on a pillow slipper and I
just stick it between the pillowcase and the pillow on
the underside, and that's a that's a different place.
Speaker 8 (06:51):
Yeah, I.
Speaker 3 (06:55):
Mean think about the.
Speaker 4 (06:57):
Well, there's a lot of thoughts there. We're throwing a
lot of things out. You got it for I'm thinking
how peaceful you are just to be able to sleep
like like not move and also to your wife for
her and if anybody moves, I wake you know, everybody
gets out.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
I wait.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
So yeah, well, I like I think a lot of
people listening might be able to use that disc.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
Look it up, look for it on Arizona or every
where you can get it.
Speaker 7 (07:18):
Right, Yeah, the letter I and then l u V.
Speaker 5 (07:26):
Got it and like a good gadget.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
All right, brother, you take care? Thanks for listening to us.
Speaker 7 (07:32):
Yeah, of course, thanks for having me on.
Speaker 4 (07:34):
See I by. It's a great idea if you can
make it work. So there's a food you need to
eat less if you want to live forever. Yeah, I
saw it, and I was going to share with you.
How long you want to live as long as you can? Right,
you want to live a healthy life as long as
you possibly can. Kids, your grandkids and their grandkids or
whatever it could be. So, as a study came out
(07:55):
and they found it eating this is not helping out
with that. And as a matter of fact, someone shared
their with me over the weekend. I haven't had any
since Saturday night. But I do like them. I like
them thin, not thick. I like them crispy. Oh so
here's what they say. An eight year study found the
people who eat these more than twice a week are
(08:16):
at least twice as likely to die early compared to
those who didn't that.
Speaker 5 (08:22):
Earlier lot of information.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
Yeah, what is it?
Speaker 10 (08:26):
Well?
Speaker 3 (08:26):
Do you not want it?
Speaker 8 (08:27):
I do?
Speaker 10 (08:27):
I do.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
I was gonna I was thinking if you read meat,
but you're saying thin and christ.
Speaker 5 (08:34):
Anyone that doesn't like French fries, and everyone loves French fries.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
Everyone loves French fries. It's like you could debate the
style you don't like fries?
Speaker 1 (08:41):
Can we talk about who you were sharing French fries with?
Speaker 4 (08:44):
On the Mark Consuelas adorable. Mark Consuelos, dude is a
good looking solid.
Speaker 5 (08:50):
Do you feel better when you share fries?
Speaker 3 (08:53):
I ordered a salad and he ordered steak and fries.
Speaker 5 (08:55):
Yeah, that'd be my move, And I told him he.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
Was annoying by doing it.
Speaker 4 (09:01):
Now, today's quote, so many people are hanging on by
the thinnest of threads. Treat all people with kindness. You
never know what they're going through. It's true.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
People has a.
Speaker 4 (09:10):
Song about it. You could be that thread one day.
So I think it's actually a good one.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
It is a good think about all the time.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
All right, friends, My stomach's growling actually right now talking
about French fries.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
How good is that?
Speaker 5 (09:20):
That's not gonna go well for good French fries?
Speaker 4 (09:23):
Just so goods FM headlines with siciny.
Speaker 2 (09:27):

my favorite things to do is play this game. You play,

Speaker 8 (11:46):

our go too.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
But we're learning.
Speaker 11 (11:56):
We're learning about avocados like and all the benefits and stuff.
Speaker 4 (11:59):

benefits for all of like anti inflammation and fight certain
cancers and tastes good. Anyway, we'll talk later, Paula, Andrew,
here we go. It's called match game. Here's how it works,
Andrea and Paula. We're gonna give you a phrase with
a blank in it. Our panel here, Sisney, Tanya, Ruby,
(12:19):
and Tubbs, our engineer will write down what they think
should go into blank. Will hear your answer, and the
more matches wins. I'll walk you through it. Let's start
with you, Andrea Paula, hold tight, Andrew. Your first one here.
Don't say anything out loud, Andrew, just think about your answer. Okay,
your first one is life blank? So life? What any
word that would go with life? Basically life blank? You
(12:39):
try and think of a word that might be the
most common. You can match with the panel, and let's
see how it goes. Just stand by life blank, and Andrew,
what'd you say?
Speaker 3 (12:49):
Life?
Speaker 4 (12:49):
What?
Speaker 8 (12:52):
Life?
Speaker 2 (12:54):
Style?
Speaker 3 (12:56):
Good? One? I was seeing. LifeLock was the.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
Person that came to my mind that I was like,
I'm not going to say that.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
Right, LifeLock.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
I know.
Speaker 4 (13:04):
Okay, let's go to our panel Assistant Lifestyle Life Goals.
Speaker 9 (13:10):
Tanya Lifestyle Life Partner, not Shocked, Ruby, Life Life Alert.
So it comes down Andrew to our engineer, Tubs. If
you said lifestyle, you get a match.
Speaker 4 (13:23):
Tubs, did you say a lifestyle life hack. Because you're
not supposed to match with tubs. How many times have
we played this game? Sorry, Andrea, the panel let you down.
Hold on one second, don't don't do anything, Paula, your turnout.
All you gotta do is get one match, otherwise it's
a tie. Paula, yours is don't say that, allow yours
(13:44):
is wedding blank, wedding blank, wedding blank. Think about that.
Panels writing down their answers. Some are thinking longer than others.
And here we go, Paula. Would you say wedding.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
What day.
Speaker 12 (14:00):
Day, wedding day?
Speaker 3 (14:02):
Okay, okay, wedding day, Sysney wedding.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Day, I said, chapel, Oh good one.
Speaker 5 (14:09):
Good wedding day.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
Wedding dress.
Speaker 4 (14:14):
Down to two more, only two more shots to get
a match. Here Ruby, wedding wedding party. Once again it
comes down to tubbs or engineer for the win Tubs.
Did you say wedding day? I said wedding cake.
Speaker 5 (14:34):
I mean that was a broad one and you could
have said anything.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
Wet.
Speaker 4 (14:37):
I thought that was going to be easy. I thought
everybody'd say cake. Panels let you both down. So we're
back to another round. Andrew's for a big trip by cake.
I can't just throw it. It's Andrew.
Speaker 3 (14:50):
Next round.
Speaker 4 (14:50):
Yours is hand hand blank hand blank hand blank. People
going to say to this one, Tony's getting real kick
out of it.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
I'm not choosing that.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
Okay, hand.
Speaker 4 (15:10):
Andrew's getting a real kick out of it too. A handshake, Okay, handshake,
had shake. Here we go, Sydney handshake.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
I said, hand model, Tony handshake, I said, hand model to.
Speaker 3 (15:24):

Speaker 4 (15:27):
Comes down to our engineer tubs, handsha, hand soaps. It's
never going to end. All right, Andrew, hold on one second. Paul,

Speaker 4 (15:41):
Yours is blank door, blank door, blank door? Okay, Paula, what.
Speaker 3 (15:51):
You say back doors?
Speaker 4 (15:53):
Back?
Speaker 3 (15:58):
Well, clearly Sidney didn't say back what'd you say?
Speaker 11 (16:00):
Sis?
Speaker 1 (16:01):
I said, front door?
Speaker 3 (16:04):
How many questions are there here, guys, Tanya.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
I said, back door.
Speaker 4 (16:12):
Paul, you're a winner. You go to the Ihet Radio
Music Festival. Thank you very much, Andrea, we love you.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
Okay, what'd you say?
Speaker 11 (16:29):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (16:29):
Ruby, I said front door.
Speaker 4 (16:32):
It always comes down to you. What you say car door? Shocked, Shocked.
Let's go trending report, Tanya, what do you have for
us right now?
Speaker 1 (16:39):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (16:40):
Great?
Speaker 6 (16:40):
So Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have been married since
twenty twelve. They have four kids together. But she's been
doing a ton of press, like I told you, for
her movie It Ends with Us. And when she was
talking about the start of her relationship with Ryan, she
said this, When my husband and I first got together,
he would send me a bouquet of flowers every week.
He would always send a card and it would just
(17:01):
be like a sentence of something that had happened that week,
something funny or emotional that one of us said. It
was like a little quote of the week, and it
was just such a beautiful, romantic.
Speaker 3 (17:09):
Thing, Oh my gosh.
Speaker 6 (17:10):
And I thought it was such a sweet idea. And
it's not even like you don't have to send somebody
flowers every week. It's not about the money, and like
say it, say it, or like pick them flowers from
like a garden or like even just do the card
the cute little quote.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
Yeah, like I just think it's so thoughtful.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
Like I don't know, I just can't.
Speaker 6 (17:30):
I can't picture Ryan Reynolds being that romantic in a
weird way because he's so funny. But that's funny and yeah, yeah,
but I just thought it was like such a cute
idea if you're newly dating someone steal it.
Speaker 4 (17:44):
But it doesn't it Like, isn't it like to hear that?
Doesn't it hurt and make you feel good at the
same time? That story hurt Why does it hurt? Well,
it hurts, it makes you feel good at the same time.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
Why does it hurt.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
Well getting over? Like these are not doing that anymore.
Speaker 4 (18:02):
No, it's talking about for each of us like it
hurts because they Oh, that's so amazing. Imagine being the
recipient of that or the sender of that, Like why
have we never done that?
Speaker 6 (18:12):
Well, here's the beauty in it, Ryan, you it's not
too late, do you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (18:19):
No, part is that part.
Speaker 4 (18:22):
Of it is it's so beautiful and like these two from
what we hear, know and read, have figured it all right,
all of it. I mean even the mint commercial he
does I love.
Speaker 5 (18:33):
It's like they're the goats of relationships.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
Mint Mobile seemingly but don't let it amazing, don't let
it hurt.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
Take this and use it.
Speaker 4 (18:42):
But somebody, somebody less understand somebody, somebody like this could.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
Never be me because it's just not really what I
would do. But it's so beautiful.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
But why not? Why couldn't it?
Speaker 5 (18:53):
Because I can't.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
It could be you.
Speaker 5 (18:56):
It's like the same reason I wrote like one.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
You know, I wrote a cute little no on the
day school and my kids lunch, and then I just
never did it again, you know.
Speaker 5 (19:03):
The first day it's just like, oh, it's exciting, don't
keep it?
Speaker 4 (19:07):
Yeah, can't you get those printed? Probably like paper bags?
Speaker 2 (19:11):
That defeats the purpose my notes too, I mean, now
Aliso throwing in.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
All right, well, let's just move on. Thank you for that.
Speaker 4 (19:18):
I'm very happy to hear that story. Actually, it's a
beautiful story. So let's get to Meghan here in Downy.
Good morning, Megan, how are you doing.
Speaker 11 (19:28):
Hey, I'm doing pretty good.
Speaker 4 (19:30):
Good well, thank you for listening to us, first of all,
and second of all, we want to get right into
your ex boyfriend's girlfriend DM, and you what happened?
Speaker 2 (19:38):
Okay?
Speaker 13 (19:39):
So yeah, my my ex boyfriend's new girlfriend DM me
to ask why I had called her boyfriend, which I
had done, but it was it was like super innocuous.
I just needed a phone number of someone that he
and I both knew this event planner Like, I mean,
that's okay, not even important. You know, we both moved on.
Speaker 6 (19:59):
The break up was.
Speaker 13 (20:00):
Fine as far as breakups go, Like I'm seeing someone new,
he's seeing someone new, and I explained this to this girl.
But my question is the only way that she knew
that I'd called him is because she went through his phone.
So do I tell my ex that his girlfriend is
going through his phone? Because I would for sure want
to know if the person I was seen didn't trust me.
Speaker 3 (20:23):
Yeah, I would.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
Who cares?
Speaker 3 (20:25):
Do you really get? Really No, I don't think you do.
I don't think you do.
Speaker 4 (20:33):
That puts you in the middle of it.
Speaker 1 (20:37):
Well, she's putting her in the middle.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
I'm saying that the girlfriend already has reached out to her,
and I would say, tit for tet.
Speaker 3 (20:47):
I think Sistany's right.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
Actually stay out of that.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
Yeah, what's the downside?
Speaker 1 (20:54):
So much downside?
Speaker 2 (20:56):
Why did it end with your ex? Are you guys
good or no?
Speaker 11 (21:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 13 (21:02):
I mean, you know, we were sad for a little while,
but then we are on just like neutral terms. You know,
we don't talk a lot, but like every time we do,
it's in cordial I.
Speaker 4 (21:12):
Say, okay something, So I think Sisney's giving some good
advice this morning.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
What do you want to do? Are you going to
do it? Megan?
Speaker 13 (21:19):
Yeah, I think I will, because I mean, the way
I look at it is, if it were me, i'd
want to know if my partner was doing something shady
behind my back.
Speaker 4 (21:29):
Ever, however, is it possible that he might think you
want to get back with him because you're sabotaging his relationship?
Speaker 3 (21:38):
Just throwing out there.
Speaker 11 (21:41):
I don't know.
Speaker 13 (21:41):
I guess that's a chance I'm willing to take in
the interest of trying to do the right thing.
Speaker 3 (21:46):
Well, you're a good person, Megan, keep us posted. You're
a good person.
Speaker 4 (21:50):
I'll talk to you for twenty seven seconds and I
know you are.
Speaker 11 (21:54):
Well.
Speaker 4 (21:54):
Thank you for listening to us. You take care and
good luck. Yeah, Disney's got that one.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
I mean I would want to know too. I say,
stay out of it. Yeah, but I have a snoopy.
Speaker 3 (22:05):
Are you married? You don't have to worry about anything,
neither do.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
Pretty on air with Ryan Cred.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
Back to school time.
Speaker 4 (22:18):
A lot of school districts back in today, Arcadia, Monrovia,
joining LAUSD from earlier in the week, Duarte, Downey, Los A, Linwood, Wittier.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
And it's expensive, you know, if your parent's expensive.
Speaker 4 (22:29):
Get the supplies, get the clothes, get the stuff that
the class needs for your kids. So Takui Tarkanian is
on the line now. We're helping people out, getting them
twenty five hundred dollars to buy stuff for back to school.
And actually is it teacher? Good morning, TAKUI are you?
Are you in class right now? Yes?
Speaker 12 (22:51):
A class right now?
Speaker 8 (22:53):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (22:53):
Hi kids, what do you so?
Speaker 4 (22:56):
You're a special you're a special ed teacher in LA
Is that right?
Speaker 3 (23:01):

Speaker 12 (23:04):

your tobar yees this whole bart Elementary?
Speaker 10 (23:10):

Speaker 2 (23:11):

Speaker 4 (23:12):
Hi, Hi kids, Hi everybody. What's it like being a
first year teacher?
Speaker 3 (23:16):
There?
Speaker 10 (23:18):
Pretty good student in the class.
Speaker 11 (23:23):
Okay, so that's what it's like to be a student.
The teacher don't know.
Speaker 4 (23:33):
I'm almost about as tall as a teacher, I can
never have said that.
Speaker 3 (23:37):
I'm glad. That's good news.
Speaker 4 (23:39):
All right, So you need being a first time teacher,
you need some stuff in the classroom.
Speaker 12 (23:42):
Might take it right, Yes, our rug is too small
to fit everyone, all right?
Speaker 3 (23:52):
What else, you guys?
Speaker 11 (23:55):
What else did we need? Trashic plan? Okay, we could
use some stickers.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
It, okay, got it.
Speaker 13 (24:08):
I'm a stapler.
Speaker 12 (24:11):
We get animated stickers.
Speaker 5 (24:13):
An I love that.
Speaker 4 (24:19):
Why don't we Why don't we just tell you we're
gonna give you twenty five hundred dollars to get all
that stuff?
Speaker 12 (24:26):
You can tell the kids, you guys, we're gonna get
all those things. Everything we just said we're getting.
Speaker 3 (24:37):
Okay, this is very matter of fact. Yep, okay, sorry,
put it.
Speaker 4 (24:44):
On the list now to Kowey before I let you go.
Thank you for what you're doing there, and thanks for
reaching out to us. I understand that you never have
ever reached out for radio contest before.
Speaker 8 (24:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (24:55):
This, I can't believe this is happening.
Speaker 14 (24:59):
You guys can go.
Speaker 3 (24:59):
Back our seats.
Speaker 4 (25:03):
Okay, Well, we're gonna put you on hold so we
can go. If they can go back to our seats,
and we appreciate you. I hang on one second, we'll
get this right to you. If you want to nominate
yourself as a teacher or you for your student, your kid,
kiss of them dot com slash schools where to go. Well,
this is interesting. You know, some people have magic power, superpowers.
Sistany's superpower is being able to meet somebody and get
(25:24):
to know them them come up with really good, unique, interesting,
meaningful names.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
For their kids baby names before the baby is born.
Speaker 4 (25:30):
So we talked to Ryan and Kayla Conger about their
lives and their travels and their jobs and all that stuff.
And we learned that she's from Portland and he's from
Orange County, and they've gone to Italy. They're like Florence
and Positano, and they're like Switzerland, specifically Lucerne. So anyway,
we gathered all that information. Sisney interviewed them, got all
those details I remember they had.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
They wanted to incorporate either the grandpa's name Alan or
the grandma's name Nancy as well.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
It's just fascinating. You're good at this.
Speaker 5 (25:59):
Thank you. I enjoy it too.
Speaker 4 (26:01):
A lot of listeners have taken your suggestion and named
their kids given them.
Speaker 5 (26:06):
I have named a few babies here in southern California.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
Ryan and Cayla.
Speaker 4 (26:10):
Good morning, the congers, Good morning. Uh, we're well, I understand.
I congratulations is in order. You've had your baby Yay's.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
On Thursday. I love it.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
Don't tell us anything, don't tell us anything.
Speaker 4 (26:27):
So she's here. Congratulations, very exciting. Everybody sounds happy and healthy.
Speaker 3 (26:31):
That's good news.
Speaker 11 (26:32):
Oh yeah, too, lovely.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
The list is you have the list of the name
you gave me right my suggestions.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
The options that I gave you, guys, I remember was Sage,
which could be gender neutral and means wise and profit,
and because it's kind of a spice in their life,
thought Sage would be pretty Valentina. You know, you guys
love Italy and takes you back to maybe the Amalfi
coast and incorporates Alan into Valentina.
Speaker 5 (26:57):
You know, you can either spell it with two l's
if you wanted to.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
And the one I really liked I remember was Alena
spelled to the Y for the both whys and your
names and the na for Graham and Nancy. Plus it
also kind of still incorporates Alan, so Elena and then
I remember Capri could be used as like a middle name.
It just goes so well with all those names. I'm
really curious if you chose any of those.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
Okay, all right, hold on now, let me play this.
Speaker 4 (27:26):
Ryan and Kayla Conger. Who is the newest member of
the family.
Speaker 3 (27:31):
Well, we welcomed baby Alena James.
Speaker 8 (27:35):
Oh I named your baby.
Speaker 5 (27:39):
That makes me so happy.
Speaker 7 (27:43):
So yeah, we Aleena and James.
Speaker 6 (27:44):
We just we fell in love with the the kind
of the nod to the family heritage, as well as
the meaning and all the things.
Speaker 11 (27:51):
And then we did make one change. We did not
include the why Okay, we put it in James.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
We did put it in the James.
Speaker 5 (27:59):
Oh that's cool.
Speaker 11 (28:00):
I like that.
Speaker 7 (28:01):
So we were like, wow, we didn't even realize that
we had all had wiser names. So we don't want
to say lose that, but we just didn't want to
spend the rest of her life in our life convincing
people that it's not Alina.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
It's Alena, right, right, right right. They made that light.
Speaker 11 (28:18):
Adjustment, So she is Alena James a for sure. Oh sorry,
I didn't hear you.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
Ajs cue.
Speaker 2 (28:25):
Just it's so great, cool, it is really really cool
and so excited. I'm I'm touched that you guys went
with a name that I suggested.
Speaker 11 (28:34):
It just like immediately jumped out at us. And it's
particularly all the meaning wrapped up into it really was like, yeah,
that fits that work. Yes, we are complete, no more.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
That is it.
Speaker 5 (28:50):
That's our congratulations Sysney.
Speaker 3 (28:52):
Once again it pulls through. Thank you, Ryan and Kayla.
Speaker 5 (28:56):
Oh I'm looking at her picture right now. Wow, she
is beautiful.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
Oh, thank you, and Torres. She's going to be a strong,
modern woman.
Speaker 11 (29:05):
She's already pretty spicy, so I'm looking forward to that.
Speaker 3 (29:09):
When you guys take care, enjoy. Thank you very much.
Speaker 4 (29:12):
Well, tistany how about that You've named actually a handful
now of listeners babies.
Speaker 5 (29:17):
And I love it.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
Keep them coming business, keep them going very business and
not just different.
Speaker 11 (29:23):
Free.
Speaker 4 (29:25):
Let me before we do anything else, let me grab
Myra and La Puente here at eight hundred and five
two one O two seven. Myra and Lae, good morning.
Speaker 8 (29:34):
Good morning.
Speaker 10 (29:35):
How are you?
Speaker 4 (29:36):
I am doing well? Thank you for listening to us.
So you want to talk about your daughter big day?
Speaker 8 (29:43):
Yeah, So Alyssa is twelve years old and she's going
to be starting her first year in junior high. So
she's starting seventh grade.
Speaker 4 (29:55):
How is she feeling? And then how are you feeling
about seventh grade?
Speaker 8 (29:59):
Well, you know what I was just thinking. I was
kind of thinking about my oldest just graduated from high
school this past June, and I was remembering when I
took him to seventh grade. He was crying, he was
all emotional. He made me emotional. So it kind of
gave me a flashback. But Alyssa is more, more bold, more,
(30:22):
you know, so I don't see Alyssa having that kind
of experience, but it did reminded me of how it
was for my firstborn. And I'm excited for her because
you know, this is the reality that she's getting older
and before you know, and she'll be eighteen as well.
Speaker 3 (30:41):
Well, can I speak to this bold member of our future?
Is she around?
Speaker 8 (30:45):
Yeah, she's plans to be the president, so let me
pass the four point zero DPA.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
There's an election coming up.
Speaker 6 (30:54):
Yeah, let me have her talk to you.
Speaker 3 (30:56):
Okay, Well the president, Bhie. It's nice to meet you.
Speaker 4 (31:05):
So your mom is you tell me you have amazing
grades and you're excited about seventh grade?
Speaker 3 (31:09):
What are you looking forward to?
Speaker 10 (31:11):
What am I looking forward to? Shame my friends?
Speaker 3 (31:17):
Yeah, and making new friends too.
Speaker 4 (31:20):
Yeah, So when you're eligible for president in twenty forty
six ish, what do you want to do?
Speaker 3 (31:29):
What are your plans?
Speaker 10 (31:33):
I want to say somethings like like make you know,
like something like make it more equal in a way,
so like everyone's happy and no one like complains about anything.
Speaker 8 (31:48):
I like that.
Speaker 3 (31:49):
Yeah, that's a good platform.
Speaker 4 (31:52):
Well, you're taking your first steps to get there, to
make us happy by getting the seventh grade, and we
wish you tremendous luck and happiness.
Speaker 3 (32:01):
Thank you so much, Alyssa for listening to us.
Speaker 10 (32:05):
I wish I could all work with you instead of
going to school.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
Well, you uh will probably feel that way for about
a day and then you want to go back to school. Okay,
all right, nice to meet you. Take care. Tell your
mom thanks bye, mom, bye bye.
Speaker 8 (32:23):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 4 (32:24):
All right, you take care. Shout out to all the
districts starting school today. Maybe you're going to seventh grade
this morning, just like Alyssa. How are you feeling about it?
Maybe you want to run for president too.
Speaker 3 (32:36):
I like that.
Speaker 4 (32:37):
Happiness and fixing some things. Six something now, Sophia and
Glendell on the phone. Good money, Sophia, how you doing good?
Speaker 2 (32:47):
How are you guys?
Speaker 4 (32:48):
We are okay, thank you for asking. So fill listen
on what's going on. It's about your friend's birthday party
and the question you have.
Speaker 14 (32:56):
Yeah, So basically, my friend texted all of us that
she wants to do something for her birthday, and she
was asking if, like we all want to celebrate and
go to dinner. But then she didn't say anything else,
and now we're just kind of like in this weird
limbo where like, I don't know if we're supposed to
be planning it, and my other friends were like asking
me if we should plan it and or like, but
she asked us, so we're like, we're kind of confused.
So I just wanted to know what you guys thought.
Speaker 4 (33:20):
Well, I mean I have to say that I am
planning my birthday party now. A couple of my best
friends got involved, and I'm letting them run with.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
It a little bit, okay, And so I think it's.
Speaker 4 (33:38):
Kind of kind of nice, kind of cool. I mean,
planning your own birthday are they does your best friend
have a partner?
Speaker 11 (33:47):
No, she's single.
Speaker 3 (33:50):
My point, how did she come from? Kind of nice?
Speaker 14 (33:55):
She well, she kept like asking about if these dates
work for us, and then we were like yeah, and
then she was like, actually, I can't do that date anymore.
So we're like, I don't know. She just seems kind
of like sniffy about it and weird, and I just
feel like she's kind of hurt that we haven't like
taken the reins.
Speaker 3 (34:10):
Take your friend, come on.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
The rains.
Speaker 4 (34:16):
But but but but sometimes you don't want to ask.
It can be a little awkward, uncomfortable.
Speaker 3 (34:20):
Just step just step in. What's the bad news there?
Speaker 2 (34:23):
And she expecting that you guys are going to pay
for the whole meal.
Speaker 4 (34:26):
Like it's just so weird to be like, guys, she's
she's saying, I'm available if you guys want to Ye,
that is that's.
Speaker 3 (34:33):
What she's says.
Speaker 1 (34:33):
Bizarre. It is bizarre.
Speaker 3 (34:35):
No, it's not hang up with us and take the rings.
Speaker 5 (34:40):
Okay, I mean it would be the right thing to do.
I guess I don't just do it.
Speaker 1 (34:45):
Just ask her, like, do you want us to plan this?
Speaker 10 (34:47):
Is that?
Speaker 11 (34:48):
Like?
Speaker 4 (34:48):
No, I think it's so much cool to go. You
know what, We're gonna do a little, We're gonna help
outle do so something special for you.
Speaker 3 (34:52):
It's your special day, Sophia.
Speaker 5 (34:54):
It is a little bit more special that way.
Speaker 14 (34:57):
Okay, that's what I'm gonna know what you plan all right?
Speaker 1 (34:59):
By It's so then what what if she's like, actually,
I don't What if you just.
Speaker 4 (35:05):
Let Sophia do what she's gonna do there, like she
knew that bring me to other plans. She's hinting that
she wants help.
Speaker 6 (35:13):
But what if she's reading the signs wrong and she's like,
actually not, she just wants to make sure everybody has
this the right date so that she can plan something.
Speaker 5 (35:22):
Yeah, but then she say it's like almost here and
there's been crickets.
Speaker 3 (35:25):
I think she's basically saying, plan my party, let's see
what happens.
Speaker 8 (35:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (35:30):
Last went back to school on Monday, with a dozen
other school districts starting back this week, dozens of them.
Speaker 3 (35:35):
Actually more than a dozen. Teachers are speaking out.
Speaker 4 (35:37):
This is so interesting, teachers, and I'm glad you are,
and feel free to speak out right here anytime. Eight
hundred and five too. I want to two seven exactly.
We had TAKOOI on earlier. Who's like first time teaching
and back to school. I'm in a new school, it's
my first day. I need a rug a trash can
and a stapler.
Speaker 2 (35:55):
Simple thing.
Speaker 4 (35:57):
But teachers speaking out about a few things they wish
parents would do to their kids for the school year.
Speaker 3 (36:02):
Interesting, What are they saying.
Speaker 2 (36:03):
Well, one thing that they wish is that you re
establish routines a little sooner than maybe just the night
before the first day of school. So getting them to
wake up and going to bed at a normal time
even through the summer months, that alone is huge with
their grumpiness in the morning, the way they learn all
that stuff. Read every day, and it just seems like
(36:26):
it's such a hard thing to do sometimes because you're
so tired at the end of the night.
Speaker 5 (36:30):
I mean, I know I'm guilty of and they want
to read a book. I'm like, oh, not Tony, good.
Speaker 3 (36:33):
Night, But yes, I want to read and I'm too tired.
Speaker 5 (36:37):
Yeah, So reading it's huge, especially for younger children.
Speaker 2 (36:41):
Teachers often see a very like big back to school
dip with kids and reading in those early years. It's
just so important. Find opportunities to practice, find motor skills.
I would never even think about this, but like kids
in lower grades, this would be like do you using scissors,
working on puzzles, even playing with plato? These activities help
improve their hand eye coordination and make tasks like writing
(37:04):
and using classroom tools easier once they get back well.
Speaker 4 (37:06):
And also the teacher doesn't have to spend the time
teach them how to use the tools. The teacher can
focus on the teaching and the other students too.
Speaker 5 (37:13):
Exactly exactly.
Speaker 2 (37:15):
This is actually an interesting one. Give kids responsibilities. Doing
chores at home can prepare kids for classroom responsibilities such
as being like line leaders and things like that. It'll
give them the confidence to raise their hand for that
and volunteer versus kind of be like, I don't know
because I've never done a tour in my life.
Speaker 3 (37:31):
So this is what teachers.
Speaker 4 (37:32):
If you're just joining, is what teachers are saying that
they wish parents did before the first day.
Speaker 3 (37:37):
Keep going.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
And this is a big one that I have actually
adapted into my life and I've seen a difference. Send
her kindness And it sounds simple, but instead of calling
children out for what they're doing wrong or what they're
doing unkind call them out for when they are being kind.
And I started doing this with Asa with her little
sister because it's just been like kind of a little battle.
Speaker 5 (37:57):
They share a room and.
Speaker 2 (37:58):
She's just kind of like, why do I have to
share a room my little sister? And I've started just
calling Asa out when she's being really kind to Saveyah,
and I was just like, that was really nice that
you let her borrow your doll or that was really
nice that you did that instead of doing the opposite
and you know, yelling at her when she is mean
to her. And I've noticed that their relationship has actually
gotten a lot better since doing this, Like little.
Speaker 4 (38:20):
Tweak, it's it is great. My sister does that with
my niece. Yeah, and who by the way, Flora started kindergarten.
Oh first day of school. Shot a nice little video
wishing her the good luck, so she's very excited. But yeah,
I think it's a it's a good all. That stuff's great.
I mean, glad teachers put that out there too. And
if you are a teacher and you want to add
to it's eight hundred and five to one to two seven,
(38:42):
call this morning, call tomorrow, call this week.
Speaker 3 (38:43):
