Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, well, well let's just go tob set her up
brand new headphones, scoot in. It is so nice to
see her. The Golden Bachelorette. Are you watching it? We
are Wednesday's eight seven Central ABC. Its on who Moved
the next day and the Golden Batzerette herself Joan Vassos.
You know we have history Tanya and Sisney. I heard
Joe and I go back to last spring.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Right, Yeah, quite some history there.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Yeah, some history. I mean I I introduced her at
the Disney sales advertising up front, this big event that
they have, and that was the first time we actually,
I think it's the first time we met.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Right, it was the first time we met. And do
you remember I came up to you at the reception
afterworts and I said, I'm applying for the van a
White position when she wants to retire.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Oh, I the one I've been looking for. Sorry, I
camestrue that to the whole world.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Ba, I'm on the show for dating.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Well let's talk about that for a second. So you know,
for those who've never seen the Golden Batsurette, what are
you what are you trying to accomplish here? What do
you want?

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Well?

Speaker 3 (00:58):
So I guess traditionally they've tried to go for an
engagement maybe, but I like not necessarily have to be engaged.
I would just want to find like a person that
I want to pursue outside of like the Bachelor bubble.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
Yeah, I like this whole Golden franchise because I feel
like when you're in the Golden Universe, you kind of
know what you want. You've learned a lot, you can
cut through all the small talk. There's not a lot
of plate spinning. It's like you you really have an
idea of what works for you and what doesn't.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Is that accurate? It's so accurate.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
And it's very different when you're younger and you're looking
for somebody, because you're looking for somebody that you can
create a life with and that's going to be a
good father or you know, good spouse that you're going
to build a life.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
We already have lives.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
We've already built our lives, we have where are like
established where we want to be already in life. So
now you're looking for somebody that you can picture in
your life, and you picture in their yourself in their lives.
So it's completely different. And that's why like like hometown
episodes are really important because you're saying, hey, like looking
at is this going to be good for me? Is
it going to be a place that I could live? Like?

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Do I like the family?

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Because you're like, it's not so when when you're younger,
you're spending time, like you know, with the person and
maybe see their parents and their family later on. Sometimes
these are their kids and grandkids. You're going to be
spending time with them. So these are important relationships, important
like kind of interactions you have to have before you
ever decide on somebody.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
It's different perspective. Joan Vassos, The Golden Bacchorette is here, Tnny,
what I said, I love this franchise. You gave me
a look that was as if you had a tart
jolly rancher. What was that about?

Speaker 2 (02:33):
What do you mean you gave me a look like you?

Speaker 1 (02:35):
How do you compare the two? Because she's obsessed with
for his Anatomy and the original that's so that's red franchise.
But how do you compare the two? Because I thought
you gave me a look of like, really you like this?

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Right?

Speaker 4 (02:44):
Because I try to get Ryan to watch dating shows
like every single day of my life and then this
one you're like, oh, I'm gonna watch this one. I'm like, okay, finally,
like just listen to me, because dating shows are like
very heartwarming.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
But jo I'll tell you why else. I like this
show because the guys cry.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Like these guys, I mean, everyone is so emotional. They're
so emotional.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
I've never seen so many guys get so emotional.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
It was such a surprise because I think we all
had this vision that they were going to come and
talk about like how their baseball team is doing, and
like what.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Their golf game is like.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
And they immediately like entered the mansion and found their tribe,
which is exactly what happened to the Golden Bachelor. Yeah,
you know us women in the mansion you walked in,
You're like, Okay, these are my people because they are
at the same place in life, which is a really
weird place to be. It's not what you picture when
you're in your sixties and seventies to be single, Like,
that's not how you pictured life. Tried very hard up

(03:38):
until that point to not be single. Brian, are you
relating to this a little?

Speaker 1 (03:43):
I'm just a fan of the show. That's all here
as a fan. All right, So Joan the h this
guy Mark. I mean I kind of thought this was
a thing the two of you, and then you kick
him right out. What was what was missing? And this
is why the guys got so emotional, says They were.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Like, yeah, they're satisfying goal.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
What was missing?

Speaker 3 (04:00):
I know, well, right now I'm probably the villain because
we don't have a villain on the season.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Probably right it's my new role.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
So I think that Mark and I had like a
really unique bond because we kind of shared weird experiences
from after the passing of our spouses. We talked about
like them coming to us, and I don't know, you know,
I always thinking of my I a crazy person that I
like see John and things.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
But I think it's because I want it so badly.
I don't want him to be gone from my life.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
So he has had the same experience, and we talked
about that a lot on that episode on the date
when we were on the eye. So but the thing
I didn't see was that he was healing. He was
like on this healing journey that he didn't even know
he needed to be on. And like a lot of
times you.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Donate like hits you.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
You're like, wow, boy, I feel a lot better. Oh wow,
I feel a lot worse while you're doing this journey. But
he like had healed so much, and he talked about that,
but I never heard him talk about me as part
of that journey. He talked about it with the other
men and about like having feelings about his about his
late wife, and I totally get all of that, and
those are like places you needed to visit, but I

(05:03):
never heard him talk about me being part of that healing.
So I just thought I'm missing from his whole equation.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Wow, maybe I would like to be on the other show.
The other show seems easier. This is hard.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
This is harder, way harder than I ever expected. I
thought I was in a good place going there, and
oh boy, I had all this stuff come cropping up,
like bubbling up to the surface that I had no
idea was way down there.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Well, let's come back with Joan Vassos The Golden Bachelorett.
It's on Wednesdays, ABC, Next Day, Hulu. Let's take a
quick break. Come back here one of two point seven
Kiss FM. I got a five hundred dollars cash card.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
For you to win.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
If you're listening and more with John after this kiss
FM Christ here and what kind of music do y'all
play in the fantasy suites?

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Do you have like good playlists for that fantasy Wow?
Like Unchain Melody and I have the Tiger Champions exactly, we.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Are the champions. What would you play in there, Sisty,
we are the champions? You play, Queen.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
I was just saying, I the Tiger just really pumping.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (06:05):
Are you calling us?

Speaker 1 (06:07):
No? I love that song the Golden bats Orrette. So listen,
you're on the cover.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
I'm looking at it now, crazy, I haven't seen it yet.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
Oh well, I'm looking at it. You can say it.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
I'm looking.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
I don't want to the surprise.

Speaker 4 (06:20):
So I have.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
Love loss and doing it my way. What did they
I've not read the article. What what did they ask
you about?

Speaker 2 (06:28):
What do you reveal?

Speaker 3 (06:30):
I think the my way a part was probably geared
to the Fantasy Suites because that was like the biggest
change I made.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
I made little change along the way.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
I didn't give roses out at certain dates that you
normally would give them because I needed to like investigate
like more than one person in that week, So I
didn't want to eliminate anybody without having gone on other dates,
but fantasy suites. I said, I'm not doing a physical relationship.
I didn't picture myself being able to have a physical
relationship with more than one person. So I said, we're

(06:58):
not having a bed.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
I want to.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
I see the value in having fantasy suites, of having
conversations off camera.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
It's very important.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
So I wanted to do that, but I didn't want to, Like,
I just wanted to take the physical element off the
table and not make that a thing because I just
wasn't comfortable with it. So that was kind of the
biggest change I made.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
That is huge.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
Yeah, that's the first time ever in the franchise, right, So,
and I like, I.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Don't want anybody think I'm judging them that people that
did do fantasy suits. Not my business. Whatever you do
is up to you. I just know it was right
for me.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Joan, has this been a great thing? We forget about
the outcome because we don't know yet, but has this
been a great thing for you personally?

Speaker 2 (07:29):
So good?

Speaker 3 (07:30):
Like I feel like it grew so much on this
and like I went into the Golden Bachelor thinking that
I wanted to find love and came out going, wow,
that's like a lot, and I'm not sure if I
can do this. And then I got the opportunity to
do this, and I did a lot of soul searching
and talked to my family and said, yeah, you know,
I think that this is a good way to find
somebody because dating at this age is not easy.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
It's very difficult.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
I tried, and so I thought, well, they'll bet, you know,
twenty five whatever guys for me, and you know, why
not give it a try. And it's been even better
than I worked.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
And are you think your grandkids? Everybody, they were a
little nervous. I have to say.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
They are mortified that I might be kissing guys on
National Day.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
They're like, my friends are.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
Watching Jojo have so many flowers on TV.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
I know, so yeah, the commercials are really funny because
my kids, my grandkids see them, the commercials, and they
just freeze while the TV's on, like that's I think
that's Jojoe. But my kids were really mortified about me
kissing on TV. And certainly Fantasy Suites would have just
they would have gone, oh, I would not have children anymore.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
They do they ask you questions about how it went,
and I mean, you can say maybe in confidence, but
do they ask you about it?

Speaker 2 (08:43):
Oh my gosh, yeah, of course, of course.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
And they watch each episode and I get the low
down the next day from all of them, and like
my one daughter called me, I think last week. She goes, Mom, uh,
you kissed a lot of guys last night, didn't.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
I said, didn't? I said, I like, kiss one or two?

Speaker 3 (08:58):
And she goes up four and I keeping I was like,
you were counting and she's like and then she names
them off to me.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
I was like, yeah, i'd you kiss for I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
Well, good luck with your Journey's so great to see
you again, Jim. Check out the Golden Match are at
