Speaker 1 (00:02):
The great things about doing this every day as we
get a chance to meet with and talk with so
many different people any given day, any given hour, and
the conversations can go in all kinds of directions. The
last couple of weeks we have had tough circumstances because
we've been talking to people who are helping friends, helping

(00:25):
families start to think about rebuilding, start to get their
life back on track. And we were talking about Grandma
Ruth and she unfortunately lost her home and the eaton fire,
and she now has a new outlook on life that
went viral, and I think it's a great outlook.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Oh, I'm going to be changing my life and simplifying
it because I don't need all this stuff. I know
it's not important, and so I'm going to think about
what I buy, what I eat, everything to.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Be thought out.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
I don't mean I'm not going to have fun and
enjoy myself, but I'm just not going to just go
buy stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
And I'm going to think about it a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
And also, ninety is a hole in a decade and
things are different, and so I have to take that
into account.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
Wow, I can't wait till we're ninety and we have
that energy. Yeah, but it's a good outlook. I mean,
it's stuff. A lot of posts on social media about
the things we have but we should just get rid of.
And that's where this list comes from. So Grandma Ruth,
she has that view on life, and then people start

(01:34):
talking about things that they just get rid of, just simplifying.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
And everything on this list makes sense to me. And
I have everything on this list still at my house.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
Why are you holding onto old remotes? Get rid of it?

Speaker 4 (01:47):
No, I don't know, and yet I.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Have them, right, what's the point.

Speaker 4 (01:53):

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Single socks that no longer have a boyfriend or.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
Girls, because maybe one day you are going to find
them aching side of that song it's gone, it got up.
And also like you have a whole drawer of socks,
and how many do you actually use? Like I just
use the same five.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Things to get rid of that drawer of take out
menus all the restaurants that you take out from that to.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
Go user manuals put on the list as well.

About packaged sports that you take from a restaurant. Don't
need that sports, water bottles with missing lids, don't need them.
Nail polish close with holes in them pens. How many
pens do you need?

Speaker 4 (02:33):
But why do I have so many pens? I have
a whole drawer. Half of the drawer is a little
container with like a hundred pens in it.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Get rid of them.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
I don't know what. You take them from hotel, That's
why it's nice.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
But you keep them. And I don't know why.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
It just takes something on that list and get rid
of it later today, you don't, Yeah, simplicity about mystery keys.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
The keys to gosh knows what right.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
