Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:00):
So British singer songwriter Lily Allen opened up about her
own relationship red flags and that she didn't have the
healthiest dynamic with her first romantic partner. She said, not
only did I not want to touch or be cuddled
or be kissed by anyone in my family, I couldn't
engage in it with them either. I was like, this
person is where I've put that now, And she went
on she said, it's incredibly a red flag codependent behavior

(00:22):
that I just put all of my emotional dependency on
that one person. And I want to talk about codependency
because I don't think like, when you're with somebody for
a really long time, you start to depend on, like
you start to have dependency on another person. So does
that make you codependent? And then how do you stop

(00:44):
that from happening? You know, Like, I've never been in
a relationship as long as the one I'm in now,
and you know, you hear about codependency all the time,
and I want to be independent, you know, like I
want to be independent in a relationship, And so I
thought it was interesting that she was talking about that
she saw that in herself, and I was like, how
do you stop yourself from becoming codependent.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
Break that cycle. You have to get out of it.
And when you're in a relationship where you're not codependent,
you can compare, like, oh my gosh, I was like
that in that last relationship. It was so bad.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
But can't you see yourself going down that path.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
It's hard and then you'll have friends tell you and
then you don't want to believe them, and it's like
a really slippery slope.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Can I say something, yeah, oh you're here. Yeah, you
guys are into that codependency. Cha. I think I'm both.
I'm codependent and independent, which is a total conflict in
my head.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
But I don't think that is bad. If you have
a balance of it, it's not good. You can't just
be super independent.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
It's like I'm forced to be independent, but I'm really codependent.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
I don't think you're codependent.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
I think here, I think you love love like you
love to be coddled. Every now and then.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
I think.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
I'm forced into independence, but yearning code of dependance.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Interesting.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Thanks for Let me chime in on that anytime.
