Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's a trending report from Tanya, and she says that
former Bachelor star Rachel Kirkconnell shared her biggest lessons from
her breakup with Matt James. Now, I think I saw
Bachelor in Paradise stars that you were getting Yes, and
they really stick together.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (00:19):
Did they meet? Did they meet on Bachelor in Paradise?

Speaker 2 (00:22):
And yeah, yeah, they didn't get married. None of them
got married on Bachelor in Paradise, but.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
They met in that crazy wor yeah, yeah, franchise. Yeah,
and then they got into it for life together.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
I thought they're on the Bachelor and then the dude's like, no,
we're on the Paradise version.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
All well, they all were on either of the Bachelor
bchel and then they go on to Parry. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
If you follow, yes, yes, all right, and if you do,
check this out the tiny trending report.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Yes. So, Rachel Kirkconnell, she just went through a very
public breakup with Matt James and it was a lot
of drama. She went on the Call Her Daddy podcast
to tell her side of the story. It was very
fresh off of the breakup, and the takeaway was that
this poor girl was so afraid and timid in her
own relationship, but now she's sharing some of the lessons
that she's been able to kind of reflect and learn from.

(01:09):
She said, standing up for myself a bit more and
just not losing your confidence or not putting yourself aside
for someone else. And I thought it was an interesting
point that Rachel brings up, because she's absolutely right. You
can't lose yourself in a relationship. Otherwise you're always bending
over backwards and you're gonna start resenting that person. But
relationships are all about compromise. So where is that fine

(01:30):
line and when does that begin to blur?

Speaker 1 (01:35):
Compromise? It is so true. What are the key words
to relationship? Yah?

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Because you can't always get your way?

Speaker 1 (01:41):
You got the balance. It happens naturally, time goes by
you just you know, you learned this, You learned this
compromise concept. You're right, it's like maturity. It is maturity,
master compromise. By the time I found my human.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
I compromise so much more then I did at the
beginning of my relationship with Michael.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Just because it's okay, it's not worth it. It's not
worth it worth like battling over every little I know.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
But if you don't stand up for yourself at all,
and then you just you're always like being submissive, then
I feel like then maybe that's when the resentment starts
to build.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
I have one easy way to get through it all
with your significant other. Just stop turning them, look him
in the eyes, and say you're right. Music to my ears, done, done, done,
and done. Now we can go out for hot dogs.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
