Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, let's get to this trying to report and
then I've got some more music coming up.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
It's over two minutes. Do you have a tony So?

Speaker 3 (00:07):
Miley Cyrus attended the Tribeca Film Festival to debut her
new film Something Beautiful, which is a companion piece to
her album of the same name. She was on stage
discussing the film with a producer when an attendee interrupted
the convo. From the crowd, they said, we thought this
was a concert. Are you actually going to sing? Initially,

(00:30):
Miley tried to ignore them, but after many loud remarks
from the crowd, she gave in and then she performed
the climbs.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
So just the crowd went nuts.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Yes, and I mean justic set the scene. She's sitting
like up on a panel. I'm sure she didn't like
rehearse anything because she wasn't supposed to sing. This was
for her movie premiere. But this footage of this went
on TikTok and it quickly went viral, hundreds and thousands
of views and tons of angry comments because people are
saying that Miley felt bullied into singing, saying people have

(01:24):
no decorum anymore. Read what you bought your ticket for
but it sparked quite a debate online because you could
tell throughout the whole thing she didn't want to sing.
She wanted to make it about this film, and that
she did. She kind of felt bullied into it.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
It was a Tribeca Film Festival in the format of
a Q and a right with a moderator and two
seats where you're sitting up there on a stage and
it looks like a Q and a right, and then
it's almost like if if you wanted to ask her
if she would or could sing, that's not the way
you do it.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Decorum is a great word. We have lost. I think
I could spell it, but I know how to say it. Decorum.
We have lost decorum, yes, and I don't know.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
Like what the cause of it is. Maybe social media
because we can comment, we comment on everything, we have
an opinion about everything, so now it's like we've lost that,
like social awareness.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
It's not any different than manners. People have lost their
manners in decorum on flights as well. And I think
it does have to do with the casualness and the
instant immediate commenting on social media that you take that
into the human world and think that that's okay, right.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
It sounded like it sounds like her.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Fans stood up for her obviously, and that they really
did love her singing a few seconds of that song
or however long she did it, I know.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
And like I pluged Miley Cyrus too, because a lot
of artists if they didn't practice beforehand. You know, she
didn't have any of that. She just did it straight
into a microphone.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Yeah,
