Speaker 1 (00:00):
So something that is coming up every once in a
while is this topic about how do you break up
with somebody? They're calling it a dumper? How do you
dump someone? How have you been dumped? What kind of
a dumper are you? And you suggest that you can
be direct, or you can drag it out, or you
can just be sort of evasive about it.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Think I'm a direct I think I've always been a
direct to the point. Once I kind of felt like
it was over. It didn't last more than a week
or so, and then I was like, all right, this
is done.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
I think I'm a mutual dumper.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
So there's this new version of dumping, and it's called
quiet dumping, kind of like ghosting, but a little bit sneakier.
So instead of just disappearing, the person slowly pulls back
and it's just less text messaging, less intimacy, which is obvious,
fewer real conversations, and you can feel that pull, you
feel that pool, and if you've ever done that, that's

(00:48):
the name that you have. Now you're a quiet dumper.
The twist is that they don't officially break up with you.
They're hoping that you notice.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
All this behavior and then you push it away.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
And then you end it and suddenly it leaves the
other person very confused, second guessing themselves stuck in this
weird limbo like what did I do wrong? And that's
basically very cruel and manipulative, just like you said, so
quiet dumping. This is kind of tied to quiet quitting.
Remember you talked about quiet quitting when you show up
to work and you just do the bare minimum and

(01:20):
you just kind of wait to almost get fired. Yeah,
it's kind of like that, but just the dating version
of it.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Mean's just the worst, best, bad, all right, thank you
for that. I'm down on it. This is on Air
with a Ryan Seacrest.
