Speaker 1 (00:00):
Mr. Welcome to episode to nineties seven. This is a
special edition of the Bobby Cast. I do a live
stream show on Twitch called On Time with Bobby Bones.
It's basically just a once a month show where I
tell us some jokes, hang out with a couple of
country artists, play some games, and so it's live and
it doesn't really exist anywhere after it happens, so I
encourage you to watch it. But we do put up

(00:20):
a version of it here. Some of the very visual stuff,
like Eddie and I played, Uh, what do we play, Eddie?
What's the game called Jinga? Jenga? Yeah, we played Jenga
for like an hour and is all visual, So if
we didn't put that on here. But in this episode,
Jordan Davis and Nico Moon both stopped by. You'll even
get to hear a little bit of then perform, which

(00:40):
was different than when they were on the Bobby Cast.
Plus my fiance Caitlin and producer already stoped by as
well to talk a little bit. So check it out.
Here is a little special edition for you. It's On
Time with Bobby Bone. Enjoy. The funny thing is I
can't hear any music in my ears at all. I'm
just dancing along as they said music. Hello, welcome to
another edition of Time with Bobby Bones here on the

(01:02):
Control Music Channel. I'm your host, Bobby Bones, otherwise known
as a guy who talks on radio stations across the country,
wears dorky, dark drymglasses, and I once won that dancing
celebrity show on TV. The craziest thing about that whole
experience is that I fold everyone into thinking that I
was a celebrity. At best, I'm regionally known for everybody
out there watching us, no idea who I am. Also

(01:23):
have a strong fan base and retirement homes across America.
Ask your grandma, she loves me. Tonight, I will bring
on some of my friends and country music, will play
some games. We'll look at this we have with scratch offs.
We may we may have a million dollar winner here tonight,
and you were watching it. We want a million dollars.
We're gonna play some music and we'll have some fun.

(01:43):
We'll take your questions in the chat and we'll put
on some of those all throughout the show. So I
have the chat screen up over here. Um, I do
see someone. Brent Kramer Levin says, love Nico Moon's new
song no sad songs. Well, you are in luck. Tonight
we have my friends Jordan Davis and Nico Moons stopping by.
They will play music, plus special appearances from my fiance
Caitlin Yes and musical comedy partner and fellow Raging Idiot producer. Ready,

(02:08):
but before we get to our guests, let's get to
the monologue. And all late shows have a monologue and
it takes way too long, but not us. We do
something quick. It's three jokes. It's called the jokes for
the folks. Here me that music. I still can't hear
no music. I just Mike dances over in the corner,
and that's how I know music is playing. All right,
it's three quick jokes so we can get on with
the show. First up, joke number one. Oklahoma woman was

(02:31):
charged with a felony for not returning a v h
S tape twenty one years ago. Online documents show Karen
McBride is a wanted woman for never returning Sabrine of
the Teenage, which on VHS tape and nineteen. She's being
charged with the felony. There's some embezzlement. It's all because
she had rented property. She was also facing additional charges
for not rewinding the tape. See that's how they got

(02:53):
you back in the day kids. In related nineties news,
another woman was also charged with animal abuse for not
feeding her tomagotchi. And if you're not over thirty three
years old, you don't get that joke. A teacher who
got drunk and took students to a strip club on
a school trip as banned for three years. The fifty
five year old he's fifty five. You would think he's
smarter than this. The fifty five year old reportedly got
drunk with sixteen eighteen year old students took him to

(03:15):
a strip club while on a school trip in Costa Rica. Wow.
In regard to his three year suspension, he told the students,
man that stinks. Next time, you guys are buying, and
finally your third joke. New artist to Neil Towns and
Country Music has the number one song in the country
this week with her hit Somebody Like That, making it
Get This the first number one song in country radio

(03:38):
history that was written, produced, and sung by a female artist.
It's also the first song in ten years to not
reference whiskey, tan lines or back road and for that
we thank you. What's that the BA bonus joke? Okay uh?
In Country music news, Eric Church released the final album
in his three part album series, Heart and Soul, which
features twenty four new tracks and for the fans that

(04:00):
just must have it all because I know you want everything,
Eric Church. Eric is rumored to be releasing all of
his voice memos this Friday, Big News, and those consists
mostly of reminders to himself to order more aviators on Amazon.
Thank you outque Music. Yeah, all right, before we get
to our first they could prank me and not play music,

(04:21):
and I could just dance and I'd have no idea
Before we get to our first guest, It's now time
for something I call thirty seconds to shamelessly self promote,
or a thirty seconds promote all my upcoming projects. Are
you ready? You should check it out? Start the time
or now breaking Bobby Bones from Yours May thirty one

Your friend in certain name by this message to say
congrats on insert event. You did it, You're so amazing,

(05:25):

I heard laughter over there. We have a great show
for you tonight. Jordan Davis and Nico Moon will stop
by to hang out and perform. Be sure in the
chat to use the word cheer if you're enjoying the show.

(05:46):
We'll pull questions throughout the show too, but write the
word cheer first, like to welcome my favorite guest and
the only guest tonight that I've kissed. That's right, the
same guest who travel the furthest of any guests to
be here, Caitlain Parker. There she is. You can follow
Kayle on Instagram at kate cy Parker and you can

(06:07):
watch Unfancy Cooking Unfancy Cooking on YouTube and that she
has her own channel. Welcome to the show. I haven't
seen you in about six minutes since we were over
at the house and walked over. Um, it's great to
see you. I think we should play a game. I
want to tell you my favorite thing about you, and
then you tell me your favorite thing about me. People

(06:30):
like when couples are doing loving things on camera. An okay,
I'm here for it. My favorite thing about you is
that you are so funny all the time and you
consistently make me laugh out loud. Okay, what's the game
that we just say that we just say a favorite
thing about each other. Okay, now, but did you have
to do me? Okay? My favorite thing about you as

(06:51):
you always protect me. Oh remember that time at the
bar and that guy came up. I was talking a
little trash. Him and his biker buddy, him and his
biker buddies. We're getting a little handsy, and let's just
say I had to wop all their butts. Never happened.
Never happened. But what do you mean be protective? I'm emotionally, mentally, physically.
You just always protect me. Are you excited about our

(07:13):
Bear Girls episode to come out my seventeen I am excited. Yeah,
I'm excited to see it. Yeah. Was that a good
experience for you? That was a great experience A good
word for it? Not fun, right, not fun? Not fun
at all while doing it. Actually, except for Bear, it's

(07:33):
pretty miserable totally. We're freezing, We're doing stuff that we
didn't think was fun when we're pelling off cliffs and rocks. However,
Bear just a delight, one of my favorite people I've
ever met in my life. Bear Girls. We invited him
to the wedding and he said no, he said, you
can't make it, can't make it. But we didn't invite him.

(07:54):
That's how much of an impact he had on on
both on Well, I know you've met him before, but
I only met him the one time. But I just
enjoyed him as a human so much. And you know,
at night once the cameras were off. We did not
immediately fall asleep because it's two degrees and it was
hard to get on three of us in a sleeping bag.
It took a while, okay, Um, anyway, he stayed up
late and he talked to us about marriage and gave

(08:15):
us advice and kind of opened up about his wife
and it was lovely. Yeah, great dude, And we invited
him and he texted me goes, hey, he's a boy.
I can't come. I'm over in the UK. And he
had a trip with his family and teario. It was
we've only had two people r s v P no
so far, two couples bear and then do you know

(08:36):
the other Ryan and Marin. That's right, because they have
a show, have a show, and I think we're going
to end up getting an RSTP NO from I supposed
to say it Luke. I was gonna say Luke because
he has a show. Yes, and someone else that has
a show. See, everybody has Showsically, the only people that
are saying no are those that have shows. Stop with

(08:58):
the shows. Yeah, okay, now let's do what we would
change about each other if we could. Oh my gosh, Okay,
we did. We played this earlier and I didn't like
your answer. Oh you did it. What would you change
about me? Though? Really? Um, you have a short annoyance views.
You get annoyed by things really easily, not even I'm

(09:19):
not even just saying me me, of course, but you
get annoyed by people very easily. Is that true? Yes?
We could probably survey the room. There are a lot
of people whose heads are looking down. Can you guys
see Mike on camera? Mike, what would you feel like
the saying fair? I don't see that. Thank you. Of course,

(09:42):
Mike's always going to take your side. Can I pull
someone in Morgan? Oh, here we go. I have seen
the short views a time or two. Thank you. I
don't get angry at No, I'm not saying you that's
that doesn't mean that you are rubbed when the fuse
is all the way dismissed. It just means your allowance

(10:07):
for annoyance is a lot shorter than mine or a
lot of other people that I know. So you would
change that? I don't. I don't get annoyed at things
so quickly. Yeah, yes, I would change that. I would.
I guess a better way to say that is, I
would give you more patients. Okay, what I would change
about Yet you asked, by the way, like you're asking
me these questions. I didn't ask you what you would

(10:29):
change about me. I would say that you're too pretty. No,
I would. And when we go out and people wonder
what's up with that couple, they don't wonder that. Do
you wanna tell everybody who we met this weekend? You
met for the first time. He was super nice. We
were in lunch. We're reading lunch at them all. Oh, yes,
kildes Child from a little bit time. She was so

(10:52):
nice that I tell you guys all the time, she's
the nicest. First time this ship met Caitlin, Yeah, just
stop buying. Chatted with us for a while shooting the breeze.
It's great. All right, Well, you've been the first guest
in both episodes. I'm gonna do some scratch offs coming
up with Jordan Davis. How do you feel about my
scratch off obsession. I don't get it. It's mostly not

(11:12):
an obsession with the lottery or scratch offs. It's just
seen if you can, if people can win. You know, No,
I know I don't like scratch offs. I think there
are a waste of money, but also I don't like
to scratch them. It gets a little debris everywhere, and
sometimes it's not cleaned up. Watch our episode of Bear
Girls May seventeen on n g O and then you
guys right cheer over here and if you like the

(11:35):
message or like the show is what does that mean here? Yeah,
it means they're watching Cheer on Netflix to say that's
a good show. Now they write that on the side.
I think it does something. I get like a dollar.
Anything you'd like to say, any shout out you want
to give, we have. There's like eleven people watching. Um
shout out to all eleven. Thank you for tuning in.
That's play more than I'm just getting ad. I hope

(11:55):
you enjoyed the show. Um Eddie's coming up? Yeah all right,
Kim and we were listening to Nico Moon in the car.
We were so good. I mean I could sing it
if you want to take a break. All right, there
she is everybody, my fiance and yours. Actually yeah, alright, Kyla, Kylin, everybody,
thank you, there you go, thank you, thank you. Well,

(12:20):
wasn't that fun? Hey, I'm actually in the chat room
right now. Hi, everyone. Oh, never mind, No, I'm not.
I guess I can just read it all right, Well,
I am reading your your interview, your things here, ask
questions if you want. All right, let's do this. My
next guest has three number one country songs, including his
breakout smash singles you up and if drub his beard,

(12:41):
he will grant you three wishes. Welcome to the show.
Jordan Davis. There. It's awkward because there's nobody clapping but
me and you. Thank you, thank you, Jordan's how are
you man? I'm doing fantastic. What's the hats out? A
new hat? It's fresh, it is fairly new. Henry's fork
sky anglers. Uh, it took me on a great fishing

(13:03):
trip in Montana. Do you get let's talk about and
let's be honest here. What kind of cool free stuff
do you get for being a celebrity? A lot of
free beard care? Send more beard care, like I have
more beard oil, then I know what to do with Uh.
It does make like if you're like touring places, like

(13:23):
if you reach out like, hey would love to go
fishing today, how do get hooked up with some good
fishing trips? But like nothing, I'll be honestly, I wish
a little more like I wish I could get some
free ls U stuff. Do you think at five number
one singles should be I feel like there should be
a change there. Do you and his honest question ask

(13:44):
somebody with three number one songs and success in Nashville
and country music, do you ever have your people call
a restaurant and say, Jordan Davis is coming, can we
get a table? I never have. I never had. We
tried that. Morgan tried that for me and they didn't
do it. We tried it once and we were rejected.
They didn't let you in. No, the player, no, nobody cares.

(14:06):
I figure like, I definitely you could get could It
didn't work for us. Actually we try to. I kind
of had Morganto it as a joke. I was like, hey, Moregan,
call up and see if you can get us in
and she was like yeah, they said no. We were
in Chattanooga and they were like no. We were like,
all right, we get it. Yeah. I would feel like
Nashville that would be harder to do than but like
anywhere outside of town. I feel like if I was

(14:28):
a manager of a restaurant you called me, I'm all right,
I can make rent for bike pones, Thank you very much.
What are the best fifteen minutes of your day today?
I went fishing this morning day all the time. Huh yeah, man,
I did I have asked you to play golf? I
think three times now, dude, I'm trying. And the only
time that you've asked me to play golf, which just
happened to be on a weekday in the morning. And

(14:51):
you do realize that would be like me calling you
on a Saturday night when you have a show, being like,
hey man, let's watch them TV. You said that. I
was kind of like, you know, I'll probably should I've
found a better time, But I am gonna keep just
texting you to play golf, So you're probably gonna at
some point be like, dude, stop texting me. But that
the only way that we're ever gonna get on the

(15:11):
golf course is if it's just had to be like
a week day, early afternoon, early afternoon. You've toured with
Rascal Flats, Jaco and Kip Moore, Brett Young Old Dominion,
have you and I've been honest here, have you seen
any of them naked? No? Okay, marked that off all right?
How do you avoid because it's a problem that that

(15:32):
I have when I have to get a haircut out
of town, because in town I got my girl, she's excellent.
How do you avoid the annoying small talk when getting
a haircut? I I don't know. I don't do haircut
like on the road a lot. I usually have like
my one person and the same girl, the same girl.

(15:53):
I guess. Uh. The last time I had to get
my haircut, I was actually it was in Washington, and
I just like it was really short. So if you
you know, just like, how's your day going? It's good.
That's rude, all right, But I mean they're just gonna
keep peppering you a question. That's rude. I'd like to
talk to mine, and I feel like they deserve a

(16:14):
good part of my day. Dang rude with Yeah, and
he hasn't called a restaurant either. Okay, we're seeing the
real Jordan Davis. Now, alright, Beyonce, um Jordan's do you
ever come back and visit in Louisiana? This is from
w car twenty five. She's from Monroe. I do I
go back to Streeport? Uh? Still got family and Streeport,
New Orleans a lot like still one of my favorite

(16:35):
places to visit and baton rouge, but amazing. You know,
majority just football season. Do you try to go back
for one to three games? Hard? I try to make
one game a year, which I've failed at for the
last three years. Oh, you haven't been to a single game.
I've been to a single game. Yeah, that stink. I
try to get back for a game a year. Me.

(16:57):
You do pretty good, though. What made one game during
pandemic year? Me? Hambroke, Matt still Eddie, we got to Arkansas.
Beating Tennessee has a good game for us because here's
who we can beat Tennessee in Mississippi. That's that's pretty much.
If you're from that state, we can beat you. Yeah,
you'll take care of both Mississippi's That's what I'm saying.

(17:18):
All in Mississippi. Yeah, your wife's a lawyer. If there's
an argument in the house, how do you try to win? Uh?
I usually just give up every I objacked what she's saying, Like, really,
though I haven't pulled the object card. I think like,
if we're in a legit fight, my only way of

(17:39):
winning is to just like remind her, like hey, turn
lawyer off, Like I'm not talking to like lawyer. I'm
talking about did she come out? And lawyer mode? She
kind of like just has like this kind of just
like little snarkiness to her classic you know where it's
like partner, Yeah, where she asked you a question and
like it's like she knows the answer to it and

(18:02):
it's kind of like, oh so you so you didn't
know that was gonna happen. And I'm like, all right, lawyer,
be my wife here, true real life question. This is
me turning off the shick a minute. You are one
of the smartest guys that country music. How do you
separate yourself from being another one of the bros in
the format, because that is difficult to do one of

(18:23):
the bros. Well, you know a lot of dudes and
country music all kind of blend together and it's all
like party, party, drinking drink e How do you how
do you separate yourself? I don't, I mean, in all honesty,
like I just kind of I just feel like I
have like a standard that I feel like I need
to live up to. And two it's like, you know,

(18:44):
being married changes it. Having a daughter is changed it huge. Um,
you know, just one of those things where like I
don't want to have to explain something dumb I've done
and I'm taking it like fort but it's like I
don't want to I don't want to have to go
back and I have to say, like, man, I screwed

(19:07):
that up, and I need to explain this to her,
for like your daughter, for like or my wife, like
you know, like if I'm out on the road and
do something stupid, or I just kind of try to
I just try to stay stay true to who who
I think I am. Let me ask you about this
daughter thing because I'm getting married this late this summer.

(19:30):
You may have seen my fiance. She was walking out
of this bedroom, and so we talked about because I
think in the next couple of years we'll probably have
a kid. When you found out it was a girl
and not a boy, because right now I'm thinking, how
in the world can I raise a girl. I don't
even think about girls. I think if if I did
one of those you know, the little Papa balloon and

(19:52):
get the color and it was pink, I think I
would be like, I'd be like, oh no, not that
I wouldn't be super pumped later daughter, but I'm I'm
so confused as to how I would raise a girl.
I don't know, dude, I really think like when it
you know, good Lord Willing, if you'll decide to have kids,

(20:12):
you'll get blessed with a child. Dude, you're not gonna
care like you are. You are not going to care.
And either way, I feel like male or female, she's
not gonna want anybody but mom for like the first
six months anymo. Yeah, like you're just like I mean,
you're just there to help out, wash the dishes. Every

(20:33):
wants to age the diaper, and you're good. Is it
really like that? Do you feel like, dude, as a dad,
you're just kind of like one thing I wish somebody
would have like told me, like I tell that now.
So this is my my early fatherhood advice to you.
And because dude, it hurt, like the like they you
pick them up, their cryme, like even three or four
months in and then one day I walk in the house,

(20:57):
she's like crawling around and then she just lights up
and just like crawls after me, like the best moment
in my life. And and since then it's like change
and like now she's happy when dad's there. But yeah, man,
those first couple of months, it's they want mama and
that's it. See I say when I talk with Caitlin
a bit and she's like, hey, we're talking about naming

(21:19):
the kid, and we're going back and forth a little
bit on some some names, and she's like, I'm having
the baby, like you have respect what I want to
name it. And I'm like, I get it, but I
think Bobby Jr. Is what I'd like to do. But
she did it together, and so we talked about the
names of it. But she's like, and my comeback to
her is, I'm jealous of you that you get to

(21:40):
hold that baby in mind for nine months. And she
thinks I'm crazy for saying that. Dude. I mean that's
and and that's one of those first couple of months,
like after birth. It's like, I mean, dude, they're they've
been hanging together for a while. They got nine months
on us. Man, that's what stands. I'm jealous. That's why
I'm jealous. You're song almost maybe it's just cracked the

(22:01):
top ten. If it goes number one, will you you
you tremed your beard down a little bit? Will it
go completely bear? No? No? Never, never. One time my stepdad.
He had a beard his whole life. He shaved and
I was like thirteen because my mom didn't remarry until
I was later in my teen years. But he shaved
his whole face off and it was the weirdest thing.
And it's still burnt in my face, like in my mind.
I just can't he walked in with a hairless face. Yeah,

(22:24):
I don't think I'll ever like go like Razor. It
looked like one of those hairless cats. And you're like, well,
that's weird. I know that I should love it, but
it's weird. You ever see a hairless cat? Yeah, they're creepy.
What are you gonna say? I'm what? I think you
should go back to the beard man. I had a
beard for like four days. No, dude, you had it
for longer than that. Are you telling me how long

(22:45):
it had a beard? And it wasn't even a real beard.
It was like a thing. It wasn't even real. I
don't know. I'm just trying to get another I'm just
trying to get another bearded pal. Yeah, let's see here. Um,
why don't you got your guitar? Yes? A hey, while
he's getting his guitar ready, coming up, Nico Moon also

(23:05):
produced a Ready. You can follow Jordan on Instagram at
Jordan Davis Official. Are you already? Are you are here
to go? Let me tell you this too. The sound
on Twitch is fantastic. Yeah, we couldn't believe it. And
the sound of this room is awesome. Well, Maddie and Tay,
we're playing the last show and I was like, how
does this even sounds? All walked out? There? Sounds fantastic.
They sound pretty much. Just know that. I mean, because

(23:28):
you're pretty you sound pretty average, but normally you're gonna
sound even better in this one. Yeah. It actually it'll
lift you up a little bit. All right, what are
you doing here? I'm gonna play one one of my favorites. Uhurs,
hold on, hold on, tell me tell me about this song?
A This is when I wrote right after meet my wife.
I met her in New Orleans and uh I got

(23:50):
back and she's gotten pretty good. So I wrote this
one about two months into this date. And what's it calling?
De tours? Would you write it with? Or with David
Turnbull and my brother Jacob. There have been more requests
for this song really, Yeah, I'm watching the detours detours
so many requests for detours. Yeah, how do they know?
How do people know it? It's on my last of course, duh,

(24:12):
I'm the biggest fan. I knew her. I know every
track on on that ep A. Here we Go. I
was way outside the lines and yeah, I got away on,
took some wrong ts looking back, one hell of a ride.
In my review, I think the Good Lord for the

(24:35):
detours to you. She wasn't everything, but the wings ain'tel
let her knowing across the room, crooked, smiling. I just
had golden, sitting with a group of friends and sipping
on a glass of red, and I don't remember what
I said. She wrote her numbered down all I ever wanted,

(24:57):
but I never knew I needed. She's a dotted line
in every signing. Led me straight to Jesus. Was a
loss that made me hit the brakes, slow it down.
Has some faith, and I had to learn from my mistakes.
I'm on the right for now, yet lost my way.
Damn he lost my mind. Head to the metal left,
never leave me blind. I was way outside the lines

(25:22):
and yeah, I got away on, took some around turns.
Looking back, He's been one hell of a riding my review.
Only he knows all a hell that I had to
go through. Ude, I think him for the deep tools

(25:43):
to you all of detalks to you song, thank you, Dang.
I love that, man, that's really good. I appreciate it.

(26:05):
I think some people also. I was reading the thing
here as everybody is going, Hey, sounds great. It sounds great.
A lot of people have heard your brother play that too,
is playing shows. Jake's played it at a few uh rounds,
but also too when he had his record deal. He
was playing some shows out and he would play that
in like an acoustic breakdown part of his show. So

(26:26):
I think I do it better. That's a good one. Hey,
you know I love you right serious, hey, and I'm
being serious like when I'm gonna keep texting you so
just I literally have texted you more, I know, but hey,
I just I'm just gonna keep well. I only give
you a hard time because I love you. Everybody. You

(26:47):
guys follow Jordan's Jordan Davis Official at Jordan Davis Official.
Thank you guys. You guys buy bits and give them
to us, right yeah, come on, that's all I want
to do. I'm doing. I'm doing the Internet show here,
buy beds and then use them on us. Please. This
guy struggling over here, it's a beard cream uh. Nico

(27:09):
Moon coming up next, but first this quick break here.
What did you think of that performance? Amazing? So good.
It sounds like the radio exactly exactly. And everybody keeps
saying this room sounds good. But it's just empty bedroom.
It really is just an empty bed. And they think
we have some fancy thing happening here. No, not really.

(27:32):
That fancy he said behind me, is fake too. What
makes it fake though, Well it's not a real bookshelf,
and that we didn't hang this up shelf that holds
books a bookshelf. But we're in an empty room. Why
would we put this up except for well, it's a
real set in an empty room. It's a six that
would be like a green screen. No, listen, it's a
fil okay. Um, Jordan's a nice guy too, huh. I

(27:55):
told him he's walking only like like four people in town.
He's one of them. Yeah, and that's a high number,
high number. Um. What what did you think about Godzilla
versus Cang Okay, to be honest, I was on my
phone the whole time you were watching it. I feel
like that was like You're a movie that I just
was in the same room. What do you think about

(28:17):
the College Admission Scandal on Netflix? Well? I love the
College Admission Scandal. And then we're now in Succession. It's
finally getting good after like seven episodes and like six
months for us. Yeah, yeah, we yeah, we were told
it gets good, it gets good. I still I kind
of believe it. Did you meet Nico Moon he's about
to come in. I did. Yeah. Did you sing a

(28:38):
little bit of a song? Course, um, start me off? Hey,
just trying to have a good time, even if it
taks all night. No need for you anymore, Nico, I
think you're off a little Bitva Dada. I want to
see my favorite partner, Da Dada. I gotta get there,
Dad Dad. Everybody singing Dixie land Light. All right, there

(29:01):
she has kitlin. She's not leaving. All right, I got
you have leave. I gonna bring go in. Okay, all right,
good bye? I love you. Hey, kiss on camera, kiss
on camera, zoom in. My family's in the rooms. I
don't want camera. Kiss on camera. There it is. See,
it's true. It's not fake. People think it's fake romance.

(29:24):
The internet, the internet to think she's like a paid actress.
All right, let's do this next up. This guy's written
songs for Zach Brown, Rascal Flats, and Dirk Spinley, and
he recently landed his first number one as an artist
with this song good Time. This is jam. This guy
is single handedly keeping tattoo and hat shops and business
across America. Welcome Nico Moon. Yeah we can class. We

(29:47):
have more people in earlier there. Hey buddy, good to
see you. So a couple of things. One, I must
you have tattoos on your thighs? Due, man, I got
good Time on my legs. Wow. So I got these
before the song ever came out. But when I found

(30:08):
out that it was gonna be my first single that
was gonna go to radio, Like for me, it's a
massive moment in my life. And I like to think
of tattoos is like bookmarks, two big moments, And that
was a really huge moment for me, having my first
song to radio. So I was like, I gotta get
a tattoo, And so I was kind of juggling, like,
all right, I could get like a bottle of moonshine

(30:28):
or maybe a fishing pole or something. But then I
just like I'm just gonna get good time on your thighs?
Are you out of room? Everywhere? Else? A lot of
real estate has gotten used of. Yeah, so my whole
like chest and stomach and arms and a lot of
my legs. So yeah, I have actually on one butt
cheek and have good and the other bucheek have time okay,
and I put it l and says good old time.

(30:49):
Oh I love that? Was that for me? You know?
It's that's the thing. Let me say this about you.
Niko got here like an hour before the show started.
I did good. This guy is on time, smiling happy,
I'm punctual. Him and his wife were hanging out. His
wife wrote good time with him. Yeah, yeah, she's out there.

(31:10):
We're too little peas in the pot mass. I don't
really go no where without her if I can help it.
She's a songwriter artist, she is. Yeah, is she pretty good?
She's a helpful lot better than I am. Do you
do you really think that? Yeah? Yeah, I did think that.
How so well, if you were to hear her singing,
then that right there would would uh uh put that
point in place that she's a better singer than me.

(31:31):
And then when it comes to songwriting, you know, that's
a little more subjective for people because it's taste. But
I just love the way that that she writes. And
when it comes to write my own music, I want
to write songs that are personal, that are you know,
that are from experiences of my life, you know, and
like who knows me better than my wife satis why
I just choosed to write all my songs with her.
Did she ever tell you has a dumb idea? Nico, Yeah,

(31:54):
she does, but she said she's saying that's saying that.
But that's the other beauty of it is because like
when you go into a rite when maybe someone you've
never met before, you've only written with a couple of times,
you can't be maybe as blunt as you want to be.
But that's important because at the end of the day,
the most important thing is to get to the best
song possible. So we can just be like just super

(32:14):
honest with each other, which is what I'm always looking
for because at the end of the day, it's all
about the song. So good Time, which is I told
you it's it's like one of my top three songs
of the year so far, like it legitimately is a
number one song. At a time where I don't think
all number ones are legit number one. I think record
labels play games and they trade out stuff. I think
your song is one of the legit number ones. And

(32:34):
when I was listening to it, because we're listening to
today driving in, there's that uh it's um you know,
kind of drum like program drums. Did you ever think
about hopping in the studio and do it and playing
like like the the traditional snare us And how did
that sound if you tried that? Yeah, we actually recorded
traditional drums on the whole on my whole ep that's
out right now. I had Chris MQ, which is one

(32:56):
of the greatest drummers in Nashville, lay down drums on
all the songs and on good Time. And I was
listening to it afterwards and I was like, you know,
this sounds like the radio, but it don't sound like me.
It don't sound like what I'm hearing in my head.
That fills honest in genuine who I am. So I
muted it and I was like, yeah, there we go. Yeah,

(33:17):
and I say that the biggest compliment like it. I
love it. I mean I love it. I love the
what do you call that what is that? Just if
I what is that drum? What does that? Just like
a ow drums? And I'm gonna start calling it that. Yeah,
some people call him trap drums or whatever, but you
make them on an eight oh eight machine. And you know,
I grew up right outside Atlanta, so I was in
the country. Travis Trip was like fifteen minutes down the

(33:37):
road for me. I'd see him all the time around town.
But I was also so close to Atlanta. I was
getting that influence of like Outcast and all that great music.
And I just always love the way that drums sounded.
They just hit so hard, and you know, I guess
I just the way I hear country music is very
much lyrically and melodically about small town life, you know.

(33:59):
But when it comes to uh, what's you know what
we call the rhythm section, which is basically drums and bass.
I wanted to hit you in the chest, like I
want those car speakers blowing up. Travis Trip block me
on Twitter? Really, what you do? I don't know. I
would say I talked to him about it, but I've
never met him. Block. I went over this page when
I could love Travis Trip went over there. You have

(34:20):
been blocked. Called his manager said, unblocked me and he said, no, no,
they have blocked me. But I don't think he. I
think that thinks she's gotten his account and I'm blocked me,
but blocked me on Twitter? Cool story, Okay, I need
to check out if I am. I don't know. So, uh,
you played the opery because I was there. I setting
you up. We were doing the TV show and I

(34:40):
just played for the third time this past weekend, first
time in the circle. Were you able to actually see
the people? And I say that because the first time
I played, I was so nervous. It was hard for
me to see the people. I was a big I
was just the lights and I was so focused on
please don't screw up. Were you able to see the people?
I saw the people? He did for me. It helps

(35:01):
me to to look at the people. It makes me
feel connected, and it gets me in the moment so
that I don't get lost in my La la land
and the song and like forget where I'm at in
the song and everything, so making that all contact and
I always look for the people who are the most
into it, and I kind of those are my rocks
during my performance and I latch onto them for inspiration.

(35:24):
What did you play first? I played Homegrown, which is
a song I wrote for the Zack Brown Band. I
mean a lot of people would look at you because
you definitely have a different sound and look and they
would go, you wrote some songs. Yeah, I wrote that
about my hometown, Douglasville, Georgia, and it's like the most
not like unbelievable, off the chart like place. I mean,

(35:47):
if you were to drive through it, you'd be like,
that was it. But to me, it's like the most
special place in the world. And I was thinking one day,
like why is it such? Why do I love this
place so much? And it's like, you know, it's because
my family is here, my friend ends are here, all
these experience that I had growing up or tied to
all these locations around this town. So when I see it,
I see it with different eyes. And someone else would

(36:08):
probably like if I were to dropped through your hometown,
you know, I'd be like this is it and you're like, no,
you don't understand, you know, and you see it with
different eyes. And I wanted to write a song that
made people not think of my hometown. I wanted them
to think of their hometown and why they love it
so much. When you wrote that song, did have a
different vibe to it than what ended up. Yeah, it
had like a little bit of more like laid back

(36:28):
back vibe, but they like kind of took it and
rocked it out. Um J Joyce produced it and they
just absolutely killed it. I love their version of it.
It's different than how I wrote it, but it's still great.
It's just different. Did you ever think about keeping it
for yourself? That was one of the only ones that
in my mind, I was like because that one was
a little more personal for me. But at the time

(36:50):
I was a d percent full time songwriting, so you know,
it wasn't kind of like a thought to release it
on my as my own thing. I didn't decide to
do my own thing until about a year and a
half or two ago. And Nico Moon is the name
that you You have changed your name to Nico Moon
about ten years ago. That feels like that's a big
step to just commit to change in your name all

(37:12):
the way. Yeah, why Nico Moon, Well, Nico is like
a nickname. My full name is Nicholas, So that's just
a nickname, nickname that I got for for uh, you know,
growing up and then Moon. I don't know, I just
always I've always kind of like I loved space and
not to get all like super that guy, but that

(37:32):
stuff has always interests me and and uh yeah, so
that's like the way it sounded. But when I changed
my name, it was at my courthouse and my small
town that grew up, which is like most people don't
do that kind of thing where I'm wrong, you know.
So I remember when I when I went there there
get my name changed, the judge was like, all right,
come on in, all right, now, come on up. And
so I came up and there's people in there for

(37:53):
all different kinds of things, but it's magistrate courts, so
for the most part it's people getting divorced and child's
and child support and so it was a super grim,
super sad environment, you know. And then I get up
there just like change my name, and and the judges
like her, So you wanna change your name to Nico Mood.
I remember there's this lady sitting in the sitting in
the bitch benches or whatever you call, and she's like, oh,

(38:18):
hell no, I guess she wasn't uh she didn't think
that was too good of an idea. But for me,
it just felt like the right thing to do. It
feels like the right thing. It feels like the right
name for you. Thank you. I wanted to change my
name to wilbursh Scrotum, and I was told I couldn't.
Don't let nobody tell you what the And that's what
I was saying, as I was saying to Caitlin earlier,
that's your dream, that's my dream. Uh, Nico Moon is here?

(38:41):
Will you play because I want to hear the new song?
But would you mind playing a little verse and chorus
of good Time? Yeah? Are you tired? Are you tired
of playing it? Now? Now that that's it, it's old news. No, man,
I'm not tired of playing it because you know, this
is the song that got me connected to everybody. This
is the song that's why I decided to go from
being a songwriter doing artist. I love people, I love
connecting people, and I wanted to do that directly as

(39:02):
an artist, and this is the song that's made that possible.
This is a song that right now is my my
first number one. When I go and play shows, this
is the one everyone is singing along to. So I
love this song on my heart. Look what is it?
I'll play? Oh yeah, yeah yeah, poor note y'all out
there watching. Uh. You always want to plug your guitars

(39:24):
and it makes them sound better. All right? Wait, are
we ready? We're just trying to catch a good time,
even if it takes all night. Pass that bottle around
the camp fire, sipping apple pipe moves time. Yeah, we're

(39:45):
picking on him. Git talks just right. Everybody's singing dick
see landing light like a Barbara on the wed line.
We're just trying to catch a good time way down here.
We all got that Southern draw. We take our time
when we're talking. Hey, y'all, yeah, it don't take much first,

(40:09):
have it all? Just something about night. This clear takes
your problems. This uppy he just gonna stay right here
and let the world go back nice. Come on, come on.
That's that's that's such a fun that's the most fun

(40:31):
song too. That's here we go. Pam Salton tells me,
need to better look at Nico's boots. This guy you
get to do a whole docuseries on everything he wears
all the time. What's up of those boots? Man? That's
just like old boots. I don't know, it's just uh,
I don't question myself anymore. If I like it, I
like it. So I saw him, I like him, I
wear him. Yeah, that's kind of what it is. That

(40:53):
what's let's do something new? Is this the next single
you're gonna play for us? This is my brand new single? Okay,
I haven't heard this yet. So this is uh called
no Sad Songs. And I wanted this to be my
next single cause we're getting back to living and I
wanted to put out a song that people can really
take hold of and ride back into us getting back

(41:15):
to enjoying life again. I love it. Here is Nico
Moon doing no sad songs. I don't want to hear
no sad songs. We go, y'all. Yeah, I'm out of it,
cutting it loops to thank you some seasoned by the way,

(41:36):
I'm killing the good. It's got me feeling the group
to step in with my baby breaking in these Luke
Casey boots. So play something we could sing, to play
something we can raise hell and a dream too. Don't
get me going, Just to go and slow it down,
pour up another round. I don't want to hit no

(41:59):
sad songs. I just want to have some fun tonight.
That'sn't not the way to the last call. Drinking my
hand got me feeling right. It's been a long week
gone wrong, Meek, keep that good time spinning on repeat.
I don't want to hit no sad songs. I don't

(42:20):
want to hit no sad songs. Come on, play that wagon,
will turn up that sweet on Alabama, give me all
lot of bits. Don't forget the chicken fry it. I
want to hurt up with a little sweet Caroline. So
play something we could say, to play something we can raise.
Hell and a dream too. Don't get me going, Just

(42:44):
to go and slow it down, Pour up another round.
I don't want to hear no sad songs. I just
want to have some fun tonight. That'sn't not the way
to last Carol drinking my head at me feeling right.
It's been a long week gone wrong with keep that

(43:05):
good time spinning on free bee. I don't want to
hear no sad songs. I don't want to hear no
sad songs. Ain't got no time of those sad songs
for me. Y'all, come on and play something we could

(43:28):
sing to play something we can raise hell in a
dream too. Don't get me going, Just to go and
slow it down, pour up in norther round because I
don't want to hear no sad songs. I just want
to have some fun tonight. There isn't know the way
to the last drinking. My hand got me feeding right.

(43:52):
It's been a long week gone wrongly, keep that good
time spinning on, bree Be. I don't want it hed
no sad songs. I don't want to hear no sad song, Oh,
no sad song. I don't want to hit no sad song.

(44:22):
Flap dang. I would hate to have to follow you
like on a show. I'd hate that to play after you. Man.
I just want to make people happy in what country music? Man.
That's that's what I feel like my my purpose in
life is. And I just love music so much, and
I just feel so grateful to be able to do
this for a living. Man. I've been doing it for
a long time on the song right Inside, and I

(44:43):
got this chance now to kind of do my thing
and show people my style of country music. And I
just feeling blessed. Well. I'm watching just the comments blow
up thousands of people talking about you. Just how yeah,
that's how happy you may come, how happy you may hope.

Like I'm such a big fan. Man. You are unapologetically
you and that is needed. Thank you. Man. You know,
my dad always told me growing up, and I just
wrote a song for my dad yesterday that kind of
talks about this actually, so it's funny we're talking about it.
But he was like, man, I was like, you know,

(45:27):
what's like the most important thing in life? Do you
feel like, you know, like the best piece of ice
you can give me? You know? When I was getting
ready to leave home, he was like, just be yourself, man,
just be yourself. If you do that, you're gonna be
just fine. And I've always kept that close to me,
uh here in this world of music, you know, and
and making sure that I'm just doing me Nico Moon,

(45:48):
You guys follow him on into what's your Instagram name? Nico?
Do you have an Instagram? It is. I got it.
At first, I didn't have it because someone else had it,
but they hadn't posted for like two years. So I
got in touch with Instagram and they gave it. How
do you call Instagram? You got in touch with it?
I didn't. I didn't personally call them, but my manager
did reached out to him and said, hey, this this

(46:08):
account is Nico Moon, but they don't even post on
It ain't posted in like two years, and there's only
like like two followers, you know, so since they weren't active,
they gave it to me. Before that, I was like,
Nico Moon music classic, you know, glad you came by
loving anytime? Oh you won Nico Moon covered in tattoos
and got the coolest hat, the biggest smile. Follow him.

next week we're announcing something big. Yeah, and we'll be
in a couple of different cities doing something bigger than
just a show. Let's do the I don't, I don't.

(48:22):
We haven't played together in a long time. Let's do that.
Let's do the sad slow go ahead, Mike, can you
hear his a guitar? Can you hear me? Yeah? All
r Let's see how this goes. Everybody's got that one
special memory that when they closed their eyes sometimes they

(48:47):
still see. Well. I was a years old when mine
happened to me. I was trying to find a place
to hide, play and hide and seek, and then it happened,
what happened? And then it happened. I saw my grandmother naked.

(49:15):
She was stepping out the shot hour. It was so unexpected.
She didn't have a telerat out her. She screamed, and
I screamed. We never spoke about it ever again. It
only lasted a second. I saw my grandmother naked. Well

(49:42):
that was long ago. Now I'm a full grown Bobby Bee,
but I still have to talk about it in therapy.
You know what happened. What happened? You know what happened.
I saw my grandmother naked. She was stepping out the

(50:06):
shot hour. It was so unexpected. She didn't have a
talleand out on her. She screamed and not screamed. We
never spoke about it ever again. It only lasted a second.
And I saw my grandmother naked. So did my granddad.

(50:30):
I reckon, I saw my grandmother naked. Hey, we thank
you very much, thank you for thank you very much. Uh?
And how's life good? Good? I just left a baseball
game to be here. So a little little league baseball game?
Are you playing later? How they are you coming back

(50:51):
from a game? You just you just finished the game.
I don't think there's anything wrong with it. You guys know,
As I was waiting outside and Caitlin was like, you
have to make fun of his jersey? Is he twelve
years old? Yeah? Come on, you know, but she was
giving me a hard time when I walked over and
she was like, oh, you're you're gonna wear that. I

(51:14):
was like, yeah, this is the Ryan Sandberg jersey. Oh
I didn't see that. Yeah, that's awesome. And she was like,
I just don't know about men in jerseys. And I
was like, well, what's a shirt. It's like, it's more
like a shirt jersey. And so you pull it off. Man,
you look good. Thank you all right, and the sandals
look good too. These are no these are slides slides.

(51:34):
Thank you. I didn't know I was getting harassed here.
We lost someone, we broke the camera man down. If
you're watching still, thank you. Just remember be excellent to
each other. Goodbye friends,
