Speaker 1 (00:00):
How did road kill a relationship?

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Sam, Well, this guy went on his first date. But
this really really pretty woman. She's a model. She's very hot.
So will you guys always want to ask is she hot?

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Yes, she's hot.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
So on the date, he learned that she collects roadkill
and when she finds dead animals, she will bury them
in her garden to help the soil. She also said
that she recently dug up a goose from said garden
because she felt like a goose needed to feel the
wind between the bones.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Well, I guess the goose is dead.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Yeah, but she turned the goose into windchimes and so
combined with that and some other things that he learned
on the date, he realized that she was just not
the girl for him. And I was just curious. So
if you two were on a date with a super
super hot chick and she expressed this affinity for things
like roadkill and creating art or wind chimes or whatever

(00:50):
out of bones, what would you.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Say to that.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
I wouldn't have any issue with it because she's hot. Well,
I mean, no, he has nothing to do with it.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
It has nothing to do with it, really not.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
No, there's nothing to do with the fact that she's hot.
I I have no issue without what's do you have
a problem with that kind of why?

Speaker 4 (01:07):
Really? Because is she like a relative of ed geen?
Because making wind chimes out of goose? And then one
if we're dating and she kills me and then my
bones are now her wind.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Well you had to come and probably imagine, well, I
don't know, you probably ate all of her food.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Okay, I mean she's not killing anything.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
What is wrong with an eternal resting place that she
is finding for these for these creatures of God, under
God's lovingness. She's just making sure that all the roadkill
has a place to be, you know what I mean,
No disrespect to you. You guys have a gut pile.
She has an actual cemetery for roadkill. That's a caring
person right there.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
I honestly don't have an issue with this at all.
I think it's totally fine. I think that she is
first of all cleaning up our roads. That's nice. And
then also she's making she's making use and giving purpose
to a little animal that otherwise would have just wasted
away or been eaten.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Let's bed on the guy who eats anything and everything.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
Could you imagine going on at her saying, hey, you
want to go on a date where we're going oh
three ninety four, I just saw a raccoon.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Yeah, it's not bad. I can't that's going to be
you in a few years. Oh please, Right, don't you
think Dubs eats anything. Let's just set that up. Doves
really eats just about anything. And you're you're not too
far away from that. I think you know it tastes good, Dubs.
I'm told that some tough. Some stuff tastes kind of
get a little tough every now and then. It depends
on how long he's been sitting there.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
But Dubs, would would you eat roadkill?

Speaker 3 (02:35):
No?

Speaker 4 (02:35):
Never, I will not be eating at the road killed cafe.
You kill him, we grill him.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
What if it's fresh? What if you know?

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Absolutely?

Speaker 3 (02:43):
This sounds like the Christmas concoction? Yeah, the Dubs, we're
working on a Christmas concoction.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
We are.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
It's the came on two Christmas concoction. It's basically where
we throw whatever we want into a blender and then
he has to eat it.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Company came onto two Christmas concoction. Yeah, say that five
times fast.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
Ask that you put in the little Debbie's Christmas trees.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
That's all I asked. Then you'll eat it. Oh, that's cheating, cheating.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
He just said, we can put anything in the blender,
and as long as we put in little Christmas trees,
he'll eat it.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Last time he did it, he did it at the
State Fair and kept it all in and it was
all good. Remember that Ghost Pepper and the California Reaper
and that was in there or whatever.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Glorious, let's do it.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Let's have an event where we just invite everybody out
and they bring a little piece of leftovers from whatever
they ate at Christmas meal, or whatever they have in
the back of their fridge or whatever they find on
the road that's not expired. That's not expired, sure except
for the roadkill. And then we put it all in
a blender and then just toss in a couple Christmas trees.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
On that event just called the Secrets Show.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
My guys, they bring their secrets and whatever, put it.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Let's do it.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Christmas Concoction

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
