Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to another episode of I Tell You What. What
were your dog's names back in the day? You just sadly, Dubs,
you just lost a pup in the last what six
months or so, didn't you?
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Yeah, back in August?
Speaker 1 (00:12):
Eva Sweet. Name any other dog names that you've had, Yep,
Lucky and Gizmo, cute Sam. You you're on a farm.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Yeah, I don't know name of all, honestly, for oh
my gosh.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
You think it over. We had like Blitz, Sonny and Chaer.
We had Pat and Yogi, Sage. I can't jet, I
can't think of all. The dot Flick was one of them. Yeah,
that dog was spastic. It was like it looked like
a flick all over the place. And we have Aaron Yep,
(00:48):
and you.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
We've had Nachi, Chia, Sadie, Riley.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
Boomer, Oh gosh, Simba Mojo.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
I can like on and on and on. Right now
we have Emma, Cody and Anny.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
I don't think any of us as we rattle those off,
have the ten most popular puppy names in our past. Oh,
winnies up there this year in twenty twenty five. This
is really what not to name your dog because you
want Yeah, you go to a dog park and you
yell dog's name, and you can have four hundred dogs come.
But if you're in the most popular puppy names, right
some Winni's in there, Teddy, Bella, Penny, Lucy, Cooper, Milo, Charlie, Daisy,
(01:27):
and the number one dog is Luna. Our neighbors had
a Luna.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
It's funny because you say all those names, and I
think that, like, I can think of friends that I
have that have either had dogs with those names or
pretty much all of them, so I can see how
those are really really common dog names.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
But I think you're right. I don't think that I've
had any dogs name those names.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
What not to name your dog?
Speaker 2 (01:47):
Well, let's say your what.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
You can name your dog whatever you want, and if
you want a popular dog name, this is fine. No, no,
you can't name your baby these names because they're popular. Well,
Samantha was one of the top names of nineteen ninety five.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
That didn't stop my parents with Michael.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Yeah, Chris is like boring every I mean, there's a
lot of chris.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
Is Christopher, Chris and Michael. Those gotta be two of
the most popular names every year forever.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
They're biblical well, Michael the Angel Angel Angel and Christopher
Bearer of Christ.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Yeah, and I'm just Sam.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
Well, Sam is in the Bible. Sam was there was
a major due in the Bible. Yeah, well no, I
think like, what are some names you would never want
to name your dog? See? I would never go to
the popular names. Again, you go to the dog park
and everybody's you're yelling out you're looking for your dog.
And I like the people names, yeah, because it's funny
(02:41):
because you just be like, Frank, get over here, stop
looking that.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
And you go to rodeos and there's so many people
who have dogs named cowboy names like you.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
I have a friend that has a dog named Hank.
I think that's so cute.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
That's a traditional cowboy name.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Yeah, yeah, total yeah, marbh.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
Right, it's so funny that we're talking about this because
I was just talking to some of the salespeople here
about dog names because we got to talking about the
puppy and this is just yesterday.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
And uh, you knew, puppy is what again? Annie Annie?
Speaker 3 (03:09):
And we named her Annie because of Annie Oakley. And
we named Cody because Buffalo Bill Cody's they're kind of
like cowboy cowgirl themed?
Speaker 1 (03:15):
What's the other one?
Speaker 2 (03:16):
Emma, Emma, it's just because I thought it was cute?
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Is that the falon? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (03:19):
But she's not fat anymore. She's lost a lot of weight.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
Oh good for her.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Yeah, and so it's been a it's been a struggle.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
But she's the dog that if anyone may recall, the
vet told us that she was obese and needed to
lose over twenty pounds and she did, so.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
She's doing to talk about a woman's weight, I.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
Know, thank you, But uh, it was so funny because
I was talking to some of the salespeople and yesterday
one of the guys was complaining so much about his
son who named his dog Kale.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
He thought it was the stupidest name ever.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
And I'm like, I would hate that as a human.
There are yes kails that crappy, right, that has no
taste to it.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
I love Kale, Nobody loves Cale. I do, I do.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
It has no taste. It's one of those things that
just doesn't have any taste. I think, caln, what's that
stuff that my wife every now and then makes? Oh?
What is that dog? Gonet used to make fun of? Yeah,
kids used to make fun of it all the time.
You ware, Jean wah keen Wa is great.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
It's like an alternative to Rice.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
Yeah, I like maybe something else then I don't know. Yeah,
I wouldn't name my dog Cale. Would you name your
dog ponscious? A word? No? Imagine that? No, Hey, Lucifer,
(04:44):
everyone would stay away from your dog. Come. Oh, Lucy
is number six.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
Lucy's a pretty popular name. I named a cat Lucy once.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Yeah, I know, I had a friend they had a
cat named Lucy. Yeah, Lucy's had a friend that had
a cat named Hank.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
I think Hank's a great name.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
It is.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Yeah, I love that name.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
It's overused. I just don't like I never like regurgitating
stuff much, you know. I'm just it's not like my thing,
and I just wouldn't again. I just don't like going
down the beaten path. That's why I went with Jamison,
which is it's not unpopular. It just it's a little
more uncommon. Land and now all took off. Yeah, name
Land and Land and I mean that name wasn't much
(05:22):
when we started. Now he's you know, he's among a
number of them. Still not one of the most popular
baby names, but it's up there.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
It's a difficult balance because you want to pick a
name that's not too common, but you don't want to
pick a name that's so far out there that it
makes no sense that it's even a name, which you
see a lot these days.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
I feel like a lot of.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
People that are trying to have like the most unique
name ever for their child, and then they just end
up with this weird monstrosity that nobody can spell.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
That's why you just name your kids so it comes
out different every time. Every time it's different, Doctor Rosens. Yeah, well,
movie that was from was Chevy Chase. Thank you for
