busy really, No.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
I didn't feel I mean, there were people there, but
I didn't feel like it was too much. They were
quiet too, which was nice. Gladiators just want It's one
of those things to see on the big screen. My
husband actually said, do you want to gues see Wicked
or Gladiator? Gave me the choice.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
And I chose. Was he secretly hoping that you would
say Gladiator? Probably? Yeah? Yeah, but I did. I made
the right choice. I've done that before. Yeah. That being said,
I saw West Side Story in the movie theater and
reredit it. That's awful feel because you've seen that movie before.

six forty dot com slash postathon and find out all
the information.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
What else is going on? Time for what's happening?
Speaker 4 (03:53):
This is water damage, fire damage. Burglary called publica Abner
Dath eighty one eight nine seven five to two five six.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
We'll get used to it right when it ends.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
A father has been arrested in connects with the shooting
death of his nine year old son in Conton over
the week, and it happens Saturday night on Haskins Avenue.
Deputy said they found the boy uh suffering from a
gunshot wound in the backyard of his home, and he
was pronounced dead at the scene. His biological father apparently
is the suspect, thirty two year old Nicholas Jones, arrested
(04:28):
for murder and child abuse resulting in death.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Just awful, I mean, was there abuse going on before that?
Is that what they're saying? Or I mean, it's it's
all bad on it.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
Mom says the boy had autism and that he was
staying in his grandfather's house when this shooting happened, so
they continue to investigate.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
We know that.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Let's see here more residents reporting Apple packages being intercepted
expensive packages. The latest one was a package containing a
laptop that was stolen, and he says this is the
third time it's happened. He wanted to buy a MacBook
Pro and the latest theft occurred. What was supposed to
(05:16):
be is in store pickup appointment, which he scheduled following
the two packages that had been shipped to his house
being intercepted by thieves.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
In both of those, they said he said that they
stopped the delivery truck before it actually got to his
house and took the laptop. And he believes there's either
a leak on the employee side, maybe even at Apple itself.
A guy in Lawndale reported a theft directly in front
of his house had taken place two weeks prior.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Was caught on video.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
He's notified that his package had been delivered, but he
said he didn't actually have it. He said, obviously some
thief had some insider information and he knows that this
package had a laptop in there because they don't mark them.
I mean, it's not like they send it in an
apple white apple box.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
They send it in brown car hardboard.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Chin yen. Yes, you've seen the ads. They're everywhere. They're
on the TV, on the billboard, on the telly. The
Shenyun Dance group is facing allegations of forced labor and
child labor and a lawsuit filed by a former dancer
for the troop.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
I didn't know, I knew anyone that went to Shenyin.
I always wondered if it was any good.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
Chris Little went one year and he said, let's just
say half the place left it the intermission because it's
not good. This because it's just not good, boring, not good,
not good.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
E cigarette sales are booming.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
The Supreme Court is going to decide whether the FDA
unlawfully blocked approval of more than a million new flavored
nicotine products. The case comes as these fruit and candy
and minty flavors and things like that, which are not
approved by the FDA and are on the market illegally,
have begun fueling an explosion in the retail sales of
(06:54):
e cigarettes. Vaping among kids is declining, but still more
than one point six million children use these products. A
ninety percent of the of them consume illicit flavored brands
even though they're not supposed to.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
John Benet Ramsey back in the news because they're looking
at new evidence sold evidence, but with new technology. They
want to use genetic technology to link DNA evidence found
in her underwear to a suspect that they're making progress
in the case. This comes as there is a new
(07:32):
docuseries on Netflix involving extensive interviews with the father, who's
pretty much you know, I was watching that a little bit.
I mean, I'm kind of all full up when it
comes to Jambrenet true crime tales. I think I've kind
of seen them all, but that brother interview to me
is always just so weird. Yeah, his demeanor that I remember.
(07:56):
I was in Sacramento working for the radius of there
when that happened, and I remember just that odd feeling.
And then I was in Seattle. Remember when the guy
was arrested. He claimed to have done it. He was
the weirdo butterfly.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
OK.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
Yeah, And then of course I saw a headline last
night that suggested that detectives believe that this is the sorry,
that twenty twenty five is the year they'll be able
to sew that crime.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
All right, so what a nice wild weekend Week thirteen
in the NFL it was, and the weather games have
been great this season, right Like I didn't.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
I would have loved the idea to go to Buffalo
to see.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
The forty nine ers, had I not known the tragedy
that would befall that team in terms of the injuries.
But that just looks like such a cool atmosphere in
Buffalo in December in the winter with the snow, and
I just love that stuff. Although I did that in
Chicago years ago. I went to go see the Niners
play the Bears in December. And what sounds like a
(08:57):
fun idea and theory is a terrible idea when you're
not used to cold.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
I don't like it. I don't.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
Yeah, I don't see why you would even think it
was fun, especially you look at you've experienced now watching it.
Watching it would be great. And even if you were there, listen,
watching a game from a suite is not the same
as seeing it amongst the people with the crowd. But
that would be one where I'd be like, I'd love
to go. I just don't want to be outside.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
The Chargers game yesterday, big win in Atlanta said that
it was a must win because of when you look
at the schedule and what's going on in the AFC,
so many good teams, and it was a time for
the Chargers to break away from the pack and look
at them at eight and four. You know, everyone said
this was going to be three years of rebuilding under
Jim Harbaugh. Well, hell, he has turned that program around.
(09:45):
You look at the numbers on defense. It's the number
one scoring defense in the league. They were at the
bottom of the league three years ago. They were damn
near the bottom of the league the past two seasons,
and now they're number one.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
That's incredible.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
It's a completely different mentality with a lot of the
same guys on defense as well. Their rookie quarterback came
up with two picks yesterday. Dj Derwin James got another one.
The new guy Marcus May that they claimed over from
the Dolphins got a pick. I mean, it was a
lot of fun. It's like Jim Harbaughs alive, Jar Harry.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
Yes, you've got a packed full of you gotta pack
jar Jar packed full of olives, and you turn it
upside down and nothing happens. But then one slides out
and then another and then another and another, and that's
exactly what happened. And the defensive coordinator, Jesse Mentor said
over the week that that was what was going to
happen in the turnover game, and he was totally right
because they hadn't forced a turnover in like three games.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
So now they just have to win two more.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
And they've got the Chiefs on Sunday night in Kansas City.
Then they've got the Buccaneers at home, the Broncos at
home on that Thursday night game that was flexed, and
then Patriots the last weekend and in New England.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
Burr, burr, careful what you wish for? You think about
these winter.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Games right now? What a dumb Assborough Massachusetts on what
is it?
Speaker 4 (11:10):
Just?
Speaker 2 (11:11):
Oh that okay, that's still that's no different than January.
Whatever you're going to say. Fifth, I think is what
it is.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
That will be uh, that will be funny to watch
Because somebody asked me the other day, Oh, I think
it was my father in law. He was asking about
you the work that you do with the Chargers for
sideline stuff, and you traveled the team and has she
done these cold games before? And I said yeah, and
I showed him the video of you over Patrick sorry
(11:43):
Philip Rivers shoulder watching him get hit in New England
in that game from many years ago. Where your face,
I mean, you're covered head to toe.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
I didn't have I didn't have clothes for that weather,
so I just put on all my clothes.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
I put on like every piece of clothing I own, multiple,
probably nine layers. Do you remember that scarf your wife
gave me for Christmas that year.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
If I didn't have that scarf, because it was a
massive it was like a blanket scarf, I would have died.
That scarf got me through some seasons, man.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
So that was fun. Tonight's game is going to be no,
well you said it was going to be. I mean,
I guess it'll be good.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
What's the line on that game? I do not know.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
But the Cleveland Browns are in Denver to take on
the Broncos tonight from Monday Night Football. The big deal
over the weekend, I want to say probably the biggest
deal was Trevor Lawrence from the Jacksonville Jaguars got hit
when he was running play broke down. He runs off
to the left and gets absolutely clobbered by a guy
(12:51):
from the Houston, Texas.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
Rolling to his left looking downfield. Trevor's looking who wants
to running midfield?
Speaker 4 (12:56):
Slidest groom.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
So he goes down in that prone position.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
And his line starts attacking the defense immediately.
Speaker 2 (13:08):
Right, that's what's done.
Speaker 1 (13:09):
But there's Trevor Lawrence like literally dying on the field,
not literally dying, but he's on his back, his hands
are kind of that prone position and no one's tending to.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
Him, the fencing position where at least one of his
hands kind of sticks out in front of him.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
And you said that one of the players did kind
of come over and see who was knocked the f
out and what is he going to do? So he
just to wait for the training staff at that point,
but move away from him if you're going.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
To go fight.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
Yeah, there was an official who has kind of had
his back to Trevor Lawrence. He's trying to prevent people
from you know, walking backwards into him. Yeah, and the
training staff did get out there pretty quickly. But that's
that's that that fencing position we've talked about before, that
when people get knocked out like that, it's uh, it's
the sign for if you were to watch head injuries.
(13:57):
I don't know who does that other than every Sunday
when we watch the NFL.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
If you watch, that's a traumatic brain injury. That's often
a sign of a traumatic brain injury. And I haven't
seen anything.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
To protect yourself your brain's ring, to protect your fall
by sticking your arms out. But I haven't heard anything
about his condition. Concussion obviously, But that's minimum. I mean,
I know that's.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
Probably all it is.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
It's you know, we've seen this before, and it's just
it's a it's a bad concussion.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
You know, it may last a while. I think that.
Speaker 3 (14:24):
But the worst part about it is that guy knew
the defender. Uh, he knew what Trevor Lawrence was doing.
There's there's no there's no world where a Trevor Lawrence,
you know, lowers his shoulder to get the extra first down.
I mean, he'd already made it to the first down
marker and the idea that he was trying to hold
(14:45):
up or I didn't know what was going to happen,
so I just, you know, I couldn't.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
I'll shaw you're by the way.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
Is apologized profoundly and profusely and said, you know you
got everyone online that says I'm dirty player. You don't
know my heart like that was not an intention, you know,
you get in the heat of the moment. He's a
line back.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
I get it. I mean, I don't you know what
I mean.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
The Broncos are favored six points at home, which means
they're favored by like nine and a half, which means
that then the analysts and the pickers don't think this
is gonna be much of a game there in Denver.
But how are we doing? Like, how did we do
with our picks? I don't even remember who I picked.
We did it so long ago.
Speaker 3 (15:21):
It does feel like it was a week ago. It
almost was. We did get a lot of winners.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
Chargers girl, that's her third win. That's a lot. I think.
I think I bet against the Cowboys. If I'm not mistaken.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
I was double checking our second and third wins right now,
and everybody but two are on their second or third win.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
Wow, gained the system. Hmm, Well, Chris, Chris is on
the list.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
That's good because the Jets are a dumpster fire, so
something needs to provide him with happiness.
Speaker 2 (15:54):
Happiness.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
I have not made it back into the movie as
much as I used to go.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
Ever since the pandemic, it was like shutting.
Speaker 1 (16:05):
Everything was shut down, right, and then when you did
go back, people didn't know how to act.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
It was also the rise of peak streaming. You know,
we saw because of what happened with COVID and everybody
was told not to go anywhere. And we even did
our segments of you know, our what did we call it?
Speaker 2 (16:27):
COVID theater? Oh god, how did we do that? We
just wrons.
Speaker 1 (16:31):
We didn't know what to do. We were just trying
to get through it. We would like pick a movie
and we'd have everyone to watch it.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
It feels like we were drunk when we said we were.
For like six months, we watched a movie together, dummies.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
We had a pulp a Korean church pulpit full of
liquor in our office and the world was shut down.
Speaker 2 (16:52):
We were making bad decisions.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
And there was nobody here. Oh now, look at it.
It turns out that that that kind of recipe spelled
disaster for a lot of Hollywood studios and a lot
of productions. Obviously they went by the wayside, and now
they're trying to figure out this new world of do
they release things to movie theaters in some cases yes,
(17:14):
or do they just send them to streaming in some
cases yes. Now, this Thanksgiving we saw the biggest Thanksgiving
box office ever, four hundred and twenty million dollars As
of yesterday. You've got Malanaitu from Disney, Wicked from Universal,
and Gladiator two from Paramount. So the five day Thanksgiving
(17:38):
holiday total four hundred and twenty million, more than half
of that just from Mowana. Thanksgiving holiday hasn't top two
hundred million since five years ago. Prior to that weekend,
Prior to this weekend, only one Thanksgiving had even surpassed
three hundred million. And like I said, now we're up
over four hundred million the previous record.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
Think about how ancient this appears. The previous record.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
Was held in twenty eighteen Fantastic Beasts, The Crimes of
grindle Wald.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
That's a Harry Potter thing. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
Yes, Creed two, Thank you Ki, Thank you Creed two
right from the Rocky franchise.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
Good movie.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
And Ralph breaks the Internet. We are such a broken people,
they said.
Speaker 3 (18:34):
This has helped narrow the gap between the twenty twenty
four and twenty twenty three hauls the box office was
hit hard this year because of the dual labor strikes
in Hollywood from last year, which halted production and pushed
many major blockbuster releases to next year and beyond in
some cases.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
Again.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
The big hal Mawana Tu came in with two hundred
and twenty one million dollars for the for the five
day weekend, which is pretty amazing considering they were only
expecting about one hundred million to come in and.
Speaker 2 (19:07):
Considering all the negative reviews of that thing, which is funny.
Speaker 3 (19:11):
That'll be the test of that will be the next weekend,
on the weekend after that, and maybe as they get
into Christmas because people want to see it then whereas
people watching Wicked continue to you know, that was not
a drop off a huge drop off from the first
weekend to the second weekend, right because the word of
(19:31):
mouth on Wicked has been so good the whole time.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
Except for when Amy King told me the running time
and that kind of kept me away.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
Which is kind of funny because I think people that
actually became a that came a value add for a
lot of people this weekend to get away from family
for that long or if you're watching Wicked, some people
wanted to get away from football, so you figure might
as well replicated Football Time two hours and forty minutes. Yeah,
I see it wants to get away from football. Not
(20:01):
everybody Canadian, Not everybody's like you. Thank god you've been
