Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Gary and Shannon and you're listening to KFI
AM six forty, the Gary and Shannon Show on demand
on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Hey, Gary and Shannon, listen to you in between work calls.
And I heard a rumor of a news and bruse
on Thursday. Yes, I need more info. Please, I'd like
to be there. But have you checked with the city
whatever city.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
You're holding it in? Yes?
Speaker 2 (00:22):
And do you have all the appropriate permits. Have you
done the environmental research study yes? And the telecommunication and
the environmental impact and make sure all the fish are safe.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
We need to make sure you can get all.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Those licenses in place before the News and bruises And
then I want to be there.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
So where's that?
Speaker 4 (00:39):
Yes, the snail darter permits have been not only entered
but approved. But the city of Huntington Beach is a
city of freedom. So we will be live in Huntington
Beach at the Bjay's Restaurant and brew House there on
Beach Boulevard Thursday this Thursday.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
And we would love it if you would come on
out and say Hi. We'll be out there. The entire
show and sharing is today. You're all his ten year
anniversary toss on my birthday. Happy birthday.
Speaker 4 (01:06):
Cool, but the actual anniversary was yesterday, October twelfth of
twenty fifteen, was the first day of whatever this show
is today. Is Tim Conway Junior's birthday today? Oh, that's right,
because it's your husband's birthday too. They are not the
same person, but they share a birthday.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
Right.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
The last time I checked, and my wife's birthday was Friday. Right,
there's a lot of what's going on. Was that New
Year's Eve?
Speaker 5 (01:30):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (01:31):
What was it? You're the one who told you're the
one who does that back counting that. Yeah, it's it's
late January, early February, right, unless someone's a premium ten years.
Did John and Ken call you guys fun buddies?
Speaker 6 (01:47):
Yes, say they It only lasted about two weeks something
like that.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
It just kids up, Bob, Yeah, he said, oh, Bob
just kidding. O. My god, that is so perfect.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
Comparing this show to that is my favorite thing I've
heard all day.
Speaker 7 (02:02):
Okay, good morning, Gary and Shannon. Congratulations on ten years.
I thought it was longer, but okay, And that guy
I just heard say that Gary aged better. He's just jealous.
He can't get a woman like you, Shannon, like you
look amazing. So that's that guy.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
You look great.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
Jesus, such a good girlfriend slash mom slash sister.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
That's what they say. They're just jealous. They're just jealous.
They'd never be able to touch you with the ten Thanks girl,
Thanks girl? What else is going on? Thanks time for
what's happening?
Speaker 8 (02:37):
Wow time?
Speaker 1 (02:39):
President Trump arrived in Egypt today for that global summit
on Gaza's future as peace in the Middle East. Was
the slogan actually in big block letters, kind of like
you'd see at the Olympics opening ceremony.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
It said, in the big block prop.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Letters, piece twenty twenty five, right before that table of leaders.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
Pretty quick trip.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
Actually, President Trump gone on Air Force one last night
to make his way to Israel, gave a speech before
the Knesset in Jerusalem, and then went to Charmel Shake Egypt,
and then got back on Air Force one, and we
believe that he set it home back to the United States.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
Expressed a sense of finality in his speech before the Knesse.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
It's done, the piece is done. I don't want to
hear about it any more.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
Unrest.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
We've got peace now and it's going to stay something
like that.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
He said, now it's time to translate these victories against
terrorists on the battlefield into the ultimate prize of peace
and prosperity for the entire Middle East.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
We've got an early storm heading here today, possibly heavy
rainfall and flooding. Tomorrow looks like it's going to be
the day. It's going to arrive later today tonight and
then leave on Wednesday. But they said the temperatures really
are going to plummet tomorrow well before a below average
temps only reaching into the sixties and in the low forties.
Speaker 4 (04:07):
There's some weird weather also going on in New York
City and also up in Alaska. New York they're dealing
with the northeaster there and in Alaska they're saying thirty
people rescued and three still unaccounted for because of the
remnants of what was Typhoon Halong brought hurricane force winds
in flooding to areas of Alaska, including eighteen people that
(04:27):
had to be rescued in the area of Quagilla Quagilling Gawk.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
Three people still missing in that little town.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
The gorillas are fighting back well. At least one ten
year old Western Lowland gorilla at San Diego Zoo is
fighting back, suddenly charging at guests inside its viewing enclosure,
smashed a layer of protective glass on Saturday. It happened
when the gorilla named Denny broke through one of three
layers of tempered glass that separates the animal from visitors
(04:56):
at the forest habitat. Another gorilla was all so in
the compound at the time of occurrence. Denny was not injured.
Everyone calmed down. But maybe let Denny free. Maybe you
let Denny go to the gas light district, have a
weekend off, enjoy himself, have some fish tacos, maybe take
in a Padres game in the NLC oh.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
Wait, unnecessary zinger for a nice weekend, but I'll allow it.
There's a new vitamin D or a popular I should
say vitamin D supplement that may have an unexpected effect.
They said that vitamin D is of course essential to
(05:39):
many aspects of human health, but a new study says
it could have a negative I take this every day, Yeah,
but you don't.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
Take too much of it, right, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (05:48):
Researchers from You're a little of it in, you know,
found that taking vitamin D two can cause reduced levels
of vitamin D three.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
What the hell kind of D do you know which
kind of Okay, sorry, I'll stop that right there.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
They're beautiful, aren't they? Happy little clouds? All right?
Speaker 4 (06:12):
When we come back, we'll talk about vitamin D supplements
are incredibly important, by the way, between October and March.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Okay, you know why.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
I would argue they're probably important year round, but I
am not gonna I'm not gonna do that because we're children.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
You started, I want to know side note, and this
is just for us off the air. Why did Richie
cut this part off? He did so.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
Richie handed us a piece of paper after we asked
which radio hosts have died live on the air, and
he handed us a sheet, but he cut off the
bottom part of it, so like you don't need to know,
cut off somebody something kicked it. He didn't want to
to know about the next Do you think it was
like because the first one we're older dudes. Do you
(07:04):
think it was like Dick and Sandy and Milwaukee died
at the same time on their midday show or something.
He's trying to protect Sandy killed Dick, or Dick killed
Sandy or something.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
Is he trying to protect us or is he hiding something?
I don't know, the world will never know. The thing
is with Ritchie.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
If he's hiding something from us, it might be to
protect us, it.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
Might be yeah, yeah, he's a. He's a. I'm team Gas.
Are you team Gas?
Speaker 8 (07:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (07:30):
You guys, Gas Fantasy. We come up with a better
name ten years ago, motivational mind.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
I remember sitting in Robin's office and we're talking about
what to name the show, and we went through this.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
All that brain power we came up with it.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
We went through this, well, we went through this, and
we said, well, Shannon and Gary, Gary and Shannon and
we went through the acronym and it was either SAG
or GAS, and we were like, well, gas is better
than SAG.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
SAG is now.
Speaker 4 (07:58):
Yeah, I love now that we're all ten years looks oh,
that's awesome.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
Ten years older.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
We get both of them, don't right exactly time we
thought we were picking one or the other, and we
ended up with both.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
So freaking beautiful. All right, Cash Fantasy for a play,
We come back.
Speaker 9 (08:21):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
Can you believe we're going to be out there at
News and Bruce and Huntington Beach.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
Yes, I can. We were just there for the.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
Air show and now we're going to be out there
and there's going to be beer, and there's gonna be news,
and we're going to be at BJ's, which means you're
going to put a deep dish pig pig in your mouth.
Speaker 9 (08:45):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (08:45):
What do you call it sweet pig? Sweet pig or
the spicy pig.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
It's always a toss up what kind of pig you're
in the mood for.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
Yeah, we might go sweet this time. Really Yeah, Okay,
I think that's a good idea. I like that for you.
Speaker 4 (08:59):
We have a chance for you and that's Thursday, our
News and Bruise BJ's Restaurant in Bruide Beach. Oh Pizza
where pigs. We have a chance for you to win

Speaker 1 (09:42):
Another wild week in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
Week six, I didn't get to watch a lot of football.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
The Chargers had the early game, obviously in Miami, and
then you get on the plane, you miss the afternoon
games kind of and missed the evening game.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
So I didn't get to watch a lot.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
But when I land and played catch up, my goodness,
another weekend of what happened?
Speaker 3 (10:06):
You know the Chiefs look, well.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
The Chiefs do this, and I know they do this,
and they start to rear their ugly head around week six,
Week seven and say, hey, don't forget about us. We
remain legit beaten the Lions. But I didn't watch any
of that game. Did you watch any.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
Of that game? Portions of it? I wasn't really paid
well was the story?
Speaker 8 (10:25):
There?
Speaker 3 (10:26):
Were they that good? Were the Lions that bad?
Speaker 9 (10:28):
No?
Speaker 3 (10:28):
The Lions.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
It's just that you can't count out the Kansas City Chiefs.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
We said this the other day when we were talking.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
I don't know if it was last Friday or the
Friday before that, and this discussion of are the when
are the real Chiefs going to come out? And we've
seen this over the last couple of years, whether it's
injury or just a bad start or you know, Taylor
swept for whatever reason. The first six weeks for the
Chiefs almost don't matter because they're going to pull it together.
(10:56):
They have too much talent and they have too many
tools at their disposal.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
I think they have Patrick mahomes as what they have,
and he can make a chicken salad out of chicken crap.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
Essentially.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
He has had not many tools this season, and it
still makes it happen.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
The Lions.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
There was going to be some regression there when their
coordinators left, and maybe that's what's happening there. But Mark
Sanchez has been released from the hospital and other NFL
news did you.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
See his interview? I did not.
Speaker 4 (11:27):
It's just a quick I mean a reporter happened to
be standing out there when he got out of the hospital.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
He was hospitalized with multiple stab stab wounds. Following the
altercation on October fourth, charged with battery involving serious bodily
injury of felony. He thanked his trauma surgeon. He just said,
I'm focused on my recovery. I want to see my wife,
my son, my two baby girls. Speaking of injuries, who
touched on it earlier, just it seems like this season
(11:54):
is more brutal when it comes to injuries. You know,
the forty nine Ers yesterday what I was able to watch,
so you see Fred Warner, the heart and soul of
that team being carted off season ending injury. That that's
just the heart and soul of the team. The team
had already lost its arms and its legs and everything else.
I mean, all they have essentially is Christian McCaffrey, you know,
(12:17):
and Kendall Bourne.
Speaker 8 (12:18):
But.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
The whole it seems like all the starters have been injured.
And I in my forty nine Ers family is like,
isn't this crazy? And I'm thinking, well, I see the
Chargers up close, and what happens to them every year
with injuries. You know, you've got to all pro guards
down within the first couple of weeks of the season
for the Chargers and the entire run the back both
running backs done before week six, So so I And
(12:45):
then you look around the league and all the star,
big bright stars that have been fallen from the from
the injuries, and you wonder what's going on?
Speaker 4 (12:53):
Is if you just looked at the quarterbacks that are out, Yeah,
the number of backups, Now.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
What's the deal?
Speaker 1 (12:59):
Are they being more careful when it comes to injuries?
Are they waiting longer? Is it turf? Is it training?
What the hell's going on?
Speaker 4 (13:10):
Maybe it's just one of the weird statistical anomalies that
this is a bad year for injuries, and it's not.
I mean, it just appears that it is.
Speaker 3 (13:17):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (13:18):
Two Monday night football games tonight. You got Buffalo in Atlanta,
speaking of Josh Allen, and then Chicago Bears against the
Washington Commanders. First game kicks off for fifteen. The second
game kicks off at five fifteen. Although everybody's going to
be watching baseball today.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
First pitch, fiveh eight Dodgers, Brewers and LCS Game one,
you've got who's on the mound?
Speaker 3 (13:42):
Blake Snell?
Speaker 4 (13:43):
Blake Snell for the Dodgers. I still don't know. I
haven't seen I haven't looked.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
They're very coy the Brewers.
Speaker 8 (13:48):
Yeah, Gary, Shannon, this is Courtney without a EU from
northern California. And I didn't know it's ten years. I haven't
listening to you guys for like five years, and it
seems like.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
In a turn, I get it. I guess that's a compliment.
Speaker 10 (14:03):
Hey, congratulations Gary and Shannon ten years in the show.
I'm also celebrating ten years living in California. Nice from
when I left New York City and the best move ever.
Really been listening to the show for five years, So
I missed the first half of your team your team up.
Quick question for Shannon. Imagine if you would have got
(14:24):
paired off of Bill Handle instead of Gary.
Speaker 3 (14:27):
Now, that would have been entertainment. That would have been something.
Huh a lot. Yeah, congrats on ten years. You deserve
a celebratory trumpet of Jesus. Yes, sir, gosh, she's good.
(14:49):
I think we should let play.
Speaker 9 (14:52):
In town.
Speaker 3 (14:56):
Around I'm the Holy.
Speaker 11 (15:02):
Ghost table and man, we're moving on him to a
better man.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
Remember when we interviewed him. Yeah, that was fun. Uh,
Well it didn't quite go the way you expected it,
but I've done better.
Speaker 4 (15:20):
Oh my gosh, if you're a Dodgers fan. If you're
a Dodgers fan, this is my gift to you, Motivational
Monday when we come back.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
Oh, you're gonna love it. Look at you.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
Being class and elegance doing a motivational Monday for the
Dodger fans on this game.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
One of the NLCS. Part of me hates me. Well,
I think you're a class act. Oh, thank you God,
it's good. Get it. Gary and Shannon will continue.
Speaker 9 (15:56):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from kf I.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
A slow moving coastal storm drenching the mid Atlantic today,
washing out roads, knocking out power. Travel is a mess.
Heavy rain to New York City today, going to be flooding,
going to be power outages. The worst of the storm
expected to pass New York City by late afternoon.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
A little early season storm also headed here. We will
see some heavy rain and flooding into tonight. Probably over
night hours is when we're going to see the heaviest
amounts of rain. This is a storm that developed in
the Pacific Northwest, and then this unusual jet stream that
we've seen that's pushing it almost directly down the coast.
So the National Weather Services you should a flood watch
(16:41):
and a flash flood watch through tomorrow afternoon for areas
nearby recent burn scars in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara,
Ventura and La Counties.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
Al Pacino is grappling with a major regret not marrying
Diane Keaton. Diane Keaton passing away at seventy nine on Saturday.
A friend of al Pacino, who's eighty five, says he'll
never He'll forever regret that he didn't make the move
when he had the chance. For years after he and
Diane split, Al used to say, if it's meant to be,
(17:13):
it's never too late for a do over, but sadly
now it is, adding that he admitted the love of
his life was Diane. Al Pacino Diane Keaton first met
in nineteen seventy four, of course, on The Godfather, Keaton
playing his girlfriend. They started dating soon after, but split
in nineteen ninety when Al reportedly refused to commit to marriage.
(17:34):
Looks like Diane had closure on the relationship, but back
in twenty seventeen, she said that even though it wasn't
her choice at the time, they were ultimately better off
interesting the one who got away.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
Taylor is going to be just fine swift, that is.
Speaker 4 (17:51):
Oh, but I will point out that, on top of
the millions of dollars that she's getting from her.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
Show Girls, life is not about money, Gary, It's not
the movie that's out.
Speaker 4 (18:07):
She has two new projects that are coming out within
about a month.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
And night I've been you know what, It's so funny
you say that, because I was thinking, God, what is
she gonna do? I need more projects from Taylorswived.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
One of them is the End of an Era docu
series about the tour, about the end of the Era's tour,
and then the actual Era's tour final show post mortem
post post mortem concert footage will be released both of
the mid December Disney Plus.
Speaker 3 (18:37):
Hey listen.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
As long as there is an audience for this and
people are buying tickets, why not put it out there.
Make some money, make that money. You know she's gonna
start family soon. They're gonna get married.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
Do we have a date? When are we going to
get a date on that wedding? And then the babies
probably in the summertime. Why is your face doing that?
Speaker 9 (18:54):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (18:55):
I'm sorry, I don't.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
Was that face for the wedding or for the family,
any of them, any of it.
Speaker 5 (19:01):
Gary and Shannon, I can't believe I've been listening to
you guys for ten years too.
Speaker 3 (19:06):
Congratulations to us all, love you guys. Oh to us all.
It's nice.
Speaker 6 (19:11):
Congratulations Gary and Shannon. Hey, I can't believe it's been
ten years. I remember when you replaced Thompson and Espinoza.
Oh boy, what's going on? What's just going to be like?
Speaker 3 (19:25):
But yeah, we said it worked out great. I remember
the show.
Speaker 1 (19:30):
We were walking out after like the first day, and
Chris Little is with me in the elevator waiting for
the elevator and he goes, so, what if this doesn't
work out?
Speaker 3 (19:42):
And I go yeah, he goes kind of scary, huh.
I go, well, we'll find out, is what it is?
What it didn't even occur to me, you know, well
if it didn't work.
Speaker 1 (19:55):
It didn't occur to me that that that we were
going to do the show and it was going to
be a disaster, train wreck, And it did not even
occur to me that it wouldn't work out. Ever, it
never occurred to me. It was never even a thought
that this wouldn't work. And even if we get fired
right now. Even if we haven't opened up our email
(20:15):
that we're fired. In that email, I don't look at
it during that I still think ten years is really
damn good. Sure it worked out. Ten years is officially
I think working out. And it never occurred to me
that it went officially working out.
Speaker 5 (20:28):
Gary and Shannon, I freaking love you guys. I got
in my car, two people cut me off. No one's
saying attention. I got irritated. But guess what I put
on my Gary and Shannon gott in the best mood.
I don't even need week because you know what I'm
high on.
Speaker 12 (20:45):
Garyan.
Speaker 5 (20:46):
Oh, happy ten years. Congrats you guys.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
Thank you. That was really sweet.
Speaker 5 (20:51):
You need week because you know what I'm high on
Garyan Shannon.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
That was really sweet. That really that makes me really happy.
Speaker 4 (21:01):
Oh, we ran out of time. Dodger's famous are going
to want to stick around.
Speaker 1 (21:05):
For motivational Oh we were talking about us and we
ran out of time.
Speaker 4 (21:08):
Sorry, Well, you went on the tirade of like I'm
just happy to Phenomena up.
Speaker 3 (21:15):
She shut your face. I'm talking to you.
Speaker 9 (21:20):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
Am six forty.
Speaker 3 (21:28):
Oh, I got bad news for you. I know you're
a big katy Perry guy.
Speaker 1 (21:32):
She and Justin Trudeau have been exchanging no PDAs on
a yacht ros.
Speaker 3 (21:38):
He's got his hand all up all over her, all
over her. Of course.
Speaker 1 (21:43):
The two first romantically linked in July when they stepped
out for a meal together in Montreal. Now they're on
a yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara Again?
Speaker 3 (21:53):
Is that really?
Speaker 1 (21:54):
She split from Orlando Bloom and June and quickly moved
on to the Canadian Prime Minister.
Speaker 3 (21:59):
He broke up with his wife a couple of years ago.
So there they are. She's forty, he's fifty three.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
They've been seeing embracing and cuddling and him grabbing her ass.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
I don't think it's him. You don't think it's him.
Who do you think it does? I think it's the
Canadian Prime minister. Former. Why it just doesn't look anything
like him? What do you mean it doesn't look anything
like him? Have you seen the pictures? Are you just
reading descriptions?
Speaker 8 (22:24):
Though?
Speaker 1 (22:24):
Now I haven't seen the pictures. Are you're looking at
the pictures?
Speaker 11 (22:29):
I was?
Speaker 1 (22:29):
And your issue is it doesn't look like you think
it's a double What do you think you think somebody
killed him and like it's a weekend of Bernie's thing?
Speaker 3 (22:36):
What do you think.
Speaker 4 (22:36):
I'm just saying that there are a lot of people
out there who are trying to develop these AI fakes
for a lot of reasons, and somebody's trying to get
into mister Trudeau's head.
Speaker 3 (22:45):
I don't know. They're both kind of I don't know.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
On the other side of relevant, aren't they, Katie par
and Justin Trudeau? Is there enough there to do a
deep fake?
Speaker 4 (22:54):
That's also an excellent point, But some people still care
about both of those people deeply.
Speaker 3 (23:00):
I'm sorry. I know who they are about.
Speaker 12 (23:01):
Gary Shannon, congratulations ten years. Oh my gosh, it's Robin
oc Hey.
Speaker 9 (23:05):
Rob.
Speaker 12 (23:06):
I can't believe I've been listening to you guys for
ten years. You brighten my day every day. I listen
to your podcast on the weekend. I miss you guys.
Look forward to Mondays. You actually make me look forward
to Monday.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
How wow.
Speaker 12 (23:18):
Have a great day. Thank you so much. Keep up
the great work. And one day, one day YouTube will
be hosting the Rose Parade. I can see it. I
can see it. Road Paraye here you guys come.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
That ship has thinks sailed. But thank you.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
People are giving us great compliments today that he looks
forward to Monday to hear the show.
Speaker 3 (23:37):
Don't even know.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
The woman said that she was in a bad mood.
She turned us on and we put her in a
good mood. That's like the best compliment we can get.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
Well, I'm playing the good ones. Oh hello, Gary and
Shannon the dynamic.
Speaker 8 (23:51):
Do thank you.
Speaker 7 (23:52):
It's really hard to believe that it's been ten years.
Speaker 3 (23:56):
Let's see, can we do ten more?
Speaker 7 (23:58):
I love you guys, have a one to day.
Speaker 3 (24:01):
I want to be around ten more sounds. Shannon turns
fifty though, that's what I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
You got real quiet and you backed away from me
a little bit when you said that last part.
Speaker 4 (24:12):
Well, I've seen how you react to certain things, and
I didn't want it to be one of those messy times.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
That was a thyroid imbalance. That one? Yeah? Is that one?
Speaker 1 (24:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (24:21):
Oh okay, yeah, huh? All right, all right, all.
Speaker 4 (24:26):
Right, okay, this Motivational Monday. We didn't get to it
last segment. We were okay, this is it, guys, And I
do this because I love, love love these old videos
and I will watch them because I miss this type
of supervisor in a workplace. It's nineteen seventy seven World
(24:52):
Series between the Dodgers and the Yankees. It's Game four
and the Yankees are up two games to one. Don
Sutton needs another day of rest, so Tommy Dodger manager
Tommy Lasorida starts left handed Doug Rowe to counter this
(25:14):
left handed power lineup that the Yankees are putting up,
including Reggie Jackson and Lou Panella.
Speaker 3 (25:22):
Raw was truck was a little bit rusty.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
He'd pitched only in one relief appearance in one game
of the NLCS and seventy seven. He had a pretty
easy first inning, right, and then in the second, Reggie
comes up, hits a leadoff double, lou Panella singles Jackson
home of the first with the first run, and then
was doubled to third by Chris Shambliss, and Tommy Lasorda's
(25:45):
got to come in and pull out Rao in favor
of Rick Rodin now on the call, just at the
very beginning, think of this lineup for your World Series
play by play and color analysis. Keith Jackson and Howard
Cosell calling this Game three. They're in there for a
(26:05):
little bit, but the rest of it is all.
Speaker 13 (26:08):
Tommy goes the third and Champas is in with a
stand up double, and the Yankees are jumping on Doug Brown.
Speaker 3 (26:15):
On the top of a second inn.
Speaker 13 (26:17):
They really aren't, Keith. You can't get the left handers
out for christ, don't almighty good, Tony, I don't give it.
You feel good as four mother MIT's up there.
Speaker 9 (26:27):
Well, that's the opposite.
Speaker 8 (26:28):
Wait, I don't give them yet.
Speaker 13 (26:30):
Left hand here expect no Giuggie. Well, I may be wrong,
but that's my job. I'll make them. I'll make the decisions. Chair,
I'll make the decisions.
Speaker 11 (26:43):
Here, Lord yesterday, I don't give up.
Speaker 3 (26:50):
I'll make a decisions.
Speaker 13 (26:51):
Give you about shot.
Speaker 11 (26:53):
I told you just talk about talking about it in
my office, And great for you to be standing out
here talking to me like that, Field, I wouldn't don't.
Speaker 13 (27:05):
Give hi, Doug. I'm the manager of the team. I
gotta make the pigs, and I'll make them to the
best of my ability.
Speaker 3 (27:12):
It may be the wrong decision, but I'll make it.
Don't worry about it. I'll make the decisions.
Speaker 13 (27:19):
I gave you a chance to walk out of here.
I can't around without two games and one fuels. Yesterday
it's a different story. I don't give a ship. You
got three three left hand hitters, and they all got
hits on you. Rivers, Jackson and the and the other guy.
They all got left hand. They all hit that guy
that just hit the ball with the left hand, the
one he's I don't give it whether you chams he
(27:45):
weren't not, he got he didn't get out. I can't.
I can't let you out there in the game like this.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
I got a job to do. What's the matter with you?
Speaker 4 (27:53):
Absolutely, And you can't imagine Dave Roberts now that same
no in script.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
You know, you think about that, You think about the
Kurt Bavekwa rant, and you just wonder how Tommy Lesorda
is able to have such a long life and not
just flame out with that temper and those arteries and
just all of the man that he was in the
emotion to feel that strongly that often and not aggressively.
Speaker 4 (28:24):
I mean also point out that was a very long
mound visit. I mean one of the things that I
cut out was him saying to one of the coaches, Hey,
give me a signal when they're ready whoever he was talking.
Speaker 3 (28:35):
I think you'd bring in Rick Roadin, I think is
who he brought in.
Speaker 4 (28:38):
Give me a signal when he's ready, basically, because he's
going to take some time on the mound to give
the picture time to warm up in the bullpen. And
he goes out there and you can see the video
of the umpire comes to tell him, Hey, it's time
to make a decision.
Speaker 3 (28:50):
Are you gonna pu him out of? What are you
going to do? He makes the call to the bullpen,
but he doesn't let Doug Row go to the dugout. Right.
Speaker 4 (28:56):
Usually when you make that call, the picture immediately hands
you the and he goes to the dugout. No, no, no,
he's holding him up there telling him, no, no, I
gave you a chance. You know you blew it. You're
the one who blew it. You're letting all these left
handers get hits off of them. It's so good, it's
so fantastic at it's World Series baseball. Yeah, I mean
that's and Tommy Lesorta absolutely he loved, breathed, loved everything
(29:21):
about that game.
Speaker 3 (29:22):
God, and you don't you just don't see managers like
that anymore.
Speaker 13 (29:25):
Now.
Speaker 3 (29:25):
The result touchy feely kissy kiss on his ass ass ass.
Speaker 4 (29:32):

Speaker 1 (30:34):
