Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Gary and Shannon and you're listening to KFI
AM six forty, the Gary and Shannon Show on demand
on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Postathon.
Speaker 3 (00:10):
Today, we are at the anim Whinehouse Restaurant once again
for the fifteenth annual KFI Pastathon. Twenty five thousand meals
a week are served to kids because of Katerina's Club
and Chef Bruno, and it's all because of the incredible
support that we have from the listeners, from our partners
as well, who have joined alongside of us to make
(00:30):
sure that we raise money for them every single year.
And the partners and.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
The partnerships we're just talking to Wildfork have been amazing.
Speaker 4 (00:37):
But the things that make a difference.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
Are the people, Like everybody's sitting here who comes by
and does a five dollars donation? A five dollar donation
feeds a family of five, Like, that's how far they
stretch a dollar here, which Chef Bruno is able to do.
So when you come by and you give whatever you
can five, ten dollars or whatever, that's making a huge
difference for a family of five, just one, right, So
(01:01):
it's the small donations really that add up that we need.
But it also is nice big donations as well.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
What's that for? Oh the oh what drum roll?
Speaker 4 (01:13):
It's already ten o'clock.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
It's already ten o'clock.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
Oh my goodness.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
So last hour's total was one hundred and twenty eight thousand,
or ten o'clock total right now, one hundred and fifty
nine thousand, four hundred thirty nine dollars. And watch this,
amy more than twelve tons of pasta and sauce.
Speaker 4 (01:33):
Wow, you just did math.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
How many pounds? Is that?
Speaker 2 (01:36):
Not that hard?
Speaker 3 (01:37):
Twenty four thousand, one hundred and ninety six pounds of pasta?
Speaker 4 (01:40):
Who says you can't do math?
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Shannon says, I can't do math.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
That went up in one hour? Do the math one
fifty nine eight?
Speaker 3 (01:47):
What is that?
Speaker 2 (01:48):
Is that thirty one thousand dollars that went up?
Speaker 1 (01:49):
Thirty one thousand dollars? Where did that money come from?
Speaker 2 (01:52):
It wasn't I haven't made my donation yet.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
The other was nine thousand pounds of pasta and sauce.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
Okay, we're not touching.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Not good. You know, when we're back in the studio,
Shannon can't reach the Then Gary pushes.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
This is fun.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
You see, Oh it, we're all either here today for
the children. Sorry, okay, Thorston Bwick GMC is.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
Ponstathon.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
You guys became a member of the Gas family and
immediately became part of the Pastathon family because you're good people.
And that's why I always feel good about talking about
Thorstom Buick GMC, because it's a dealership where you don't
get bs, you go in, you get your business done.
They are honest to you, they don't lie, they're not slimy.
They're good guys, and that's why I feel good about
(02:41):
talking about Thorston Newick GMC. Tom and Ted are here
and joined us and tell us about why you wanted
to be a part of Pastathon. Ted is the GM there,
he runs the place.
Speaker 4 (02:53):
Tom owns it.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
But Tom, if he has another daughter get married, I
don't know what he's gonna own anymore.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
So Ted, tell.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
Us why you wanted to be involved with Postathon.
Speaker 5 (03:06):
Well, I guess it starts with nobody likes hungry kids, right,
So yeah, there's no real story. We just we wanted
to be involved in something and then it seemed like
a great cause and you all seem like great people,
so we enjoyed being a part of this tom but
you know, and.
Speaker 6 (03:23):
You gotta find something, and it just seemed like a
good fit for us. We met Shannon what three four
years ago and ended up selling here a truck and
just like, and you'd heard more about the Pasaton and
just like, wow.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
But what a great time is right? Are you sure
I've seen her work?
Speaker 5 (03:42):
Well?
Speaker 2 (03:42):
Yeah, she worked me pretty good.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
I love my truck. By the way, we took it
out to Utah. It was a perfect road trip truck.
Speaker 6 (03:51):
You even got a little mud on it.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
I got mud on it. I took pictures and sent
them to you.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
Immediately.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
I was like, I'm using it, using the truck.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
But you know, you bring up.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
A good point, you guys, you got to do something.
The holiday season is all about. I think we're all
guilty of spending a lot of money on things that
that we don't need or that you know, people were buying.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
For don't really need.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
And this is a day about need. And when you
start the season off addressing a.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
True need in your community.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
It makes the holidays so much better for the rest
of your shopping, for the rest of your family get togethers.
It just feels good, you know. I like the guys
are saying yeah, and.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
In terms of I mean obviously business aspect, you guys
are in the business to make money, but there is
also a community aspect where you have to keep in
mind that there are people around your community, around southern
California in general, that that need the help of partners
like you.
Speaker 6 (04:45):
And with kf I, we really found that we really
are drawn from further than we ever had before. You know,
we heard you on Garan Shannon and like, wow, it's
really paying off for us that you know, we're bringing
people in that normally wouldn't see. So it's been a
great partnership.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
So well you enjoyed it.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
It is rare to find a dealership where you like
the people inside.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
It's very rare.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
I mean I put off buying a truck for years
because I didn't want to deal.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
With going into a dealership.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
I just didn't want to deal with the run around
and the bsing and the just lies to your face.
And then I met these guys and none of that
happens at Thorson and so it made for a perfect
partnership for our show and for Postathon as well.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
Ted and Tom from Thorston Buick GMC, thanks for coming bye.
We appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
Yeah, it's always a great pleasure to see you guys.
Come by anytime.
Speaker 5 (05:34):
Yes, we've got the e bike here so good said.
Speaker 4 (05:38):
Oh my goodness.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
Thanks that.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
We'll throw it up on the auction. I mean it
is up on the auction.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
We'll talk about the auction stuff when we come back
as well. Thank you, guys, appreciate it very much. We're
lying today all the way through eight o'clock to night.
All of the shows are going to be live out
here at the Anaheim a White House Restaurant for Pastathon.
Speaker 7 (05:55):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
Live today at the Anaheim White House Restaurant for our
fifteenth annual KFI Pastathon to benefit Katarina's Club. Where'd the
music go?
Speaker 2 (06:09):
Hit that little button right there? Yeah, that one and the
Jeopardy thumb?
Speaker 7 (06:13):
There you go.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
Are you ready for your jeopardy question?
Speaker 2 (06:16):
I am ready for my jeopardy question?
Speaker 3 (06:18):
Okay, what do you do?
Speaker 2 (06:19):
You've already got that?
Speaker 4 (06:20):
You can't play it?
Speaker 3 (06:21):
I can play it together together if you wanted to.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
But it's quiet, all right, Oh it doesn't have the volume.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
Month spell out your response for six hundred dollars. Math
whiz spell out my response? Spell some stuff?
Speaker 4 (06:35):
The answer a period of one thousand years.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
Spell it?
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Yeah, Holy moly, Deborah, is that your wedding ring?
Speaker 3 (06:45):
My god, holy, that is strategy.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
That is the biggest ring I've ever seen in person.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
My god, look at look at mine.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
It's a little baby.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
It's like your wedding ring made a little baby and
it poops.
Speaker 4 (07:01):
Out mine.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Number two.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
That's yeah.
Speaker 4 (07:05):
Oh my second one will be bigger.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
I can't wait. Is that it you got?
Speaker 4 (07:10):
You can't write it out?
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Your you literally said no, spell I did spell, but
you can't write it out. That's cheating. Now you have
to spell another big word? What's another three four syllable word?
Speaker 4 (07:23):
Engagement ring? Spell it?
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Engagement ring? No?
Speaker 3 (07:27):
Is that right? I'm not telling M I L L
E N E U M no wrong? Am I wrong?
Speaker 2 (07:35):
I know I did. Now that you say that?
Speaker 4 (07:37):
Yeah, you know Alex Trebek gives second chances.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
No, I don't want a second chance.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
Are you upset?
Speaker 2 (07:44):
Yes, I'm upset.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
Do you want to know how to spell it?
Speaker 2 (07:46):
You yelled at me.
Speaker 4 (07:46):
I'm sorry. I don't mean to yell at you.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
Spell it?
Speaker 1 (07:48):
I was upset over the engagement ring. Spell it M
I L L E N N I U M all right,
that is a beautiful ring.
Speaker 4 (07:58):
That is just gorgeous.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
Is it real?
Speaker 3 (08:01):
Real? I don't know.
Speaker 4 (08:02):
Is that trying to get her muffed? Of course it's
not real cubic circonia.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
It's a lab.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
It's a lab diamond, is that what it is?
Speaker 7 (08:11):
Rats?
Speaker 1 (08:12):
The rats, they get together and they sparkle things.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
We have been raising pasta and sauce, of course, out
here at the Anaheim White House Restaurant and donations for
anybody wants to drive through. Uh. Eight eighty seven South
Anaheim Boulevard is where you're going to find it, and
there's plenty of opportunity, plenty of room for you to
pull through with your dump truck, school bus.
Speaker 4 (08:32):
Eric, what's going on down there?
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Three fifty?
Speaker 3 (08:34):
Whatever it is?
Speaker 1 (08:35):
That?
Speaker 4 (08:35):
Is that a cup of beans?
Speaker 3 (08:36):
You're eating? Chili? Chili?
Speaker 4 (08:38):
No good right now for me, But.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
Yeah, I would suggest eat that outside, you know, just yeah,
maybe there's one you two yeah, you guys.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Both guys there outside that bathroom for the whole day.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
Speaking of one bathroom, which we weren't, but our auction
items that are up on the website. If you go
to KFI AM six forty dot com slash Pastathon, you'll
find the auction items that are up there. I want
to point out our Dodgers game has jumped in value.
It has it has jumped in value.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
Well, it's jumped to lotion on parts that are beyond
your hand.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
This is uh, this is the opportunity to go to
a Dodgers game with us next summer. You get to
choose the date as long as it works out with everybody.
We get to go into the suite and we so we.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
Said yesterday I think it was yesterday, Yeah, yesterday, yesterday, Yeah,
because it was really low. And I said, you know, basically,
you can do whatever you want to with Gary in
the suite.
Speaker 4 (09:41):
You can, you know, put them in the corner and.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
Tell them to put lotion on, you know, a little
silence of the lamb's humor. I said, but you got
to get up to you know, three thousand and four
thousand for that for Gary to put lotion on.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
And it got there.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
It's now four some weird stuff you often do. Whoever
did that is gonna want you to do weird stuff
like I think.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
Whatever it is that you promise is often played out
with me, right, yeah, so, And I appreciate that it's
for the children. It is for the children, and I
just want to point out this is a good time.
I mean, it's not only do you get to go
to the suite to watch the Dodgers.
Speaker 4 (10:20):
Game champion, back to back Dodgers.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
Whatever, but you also get to see the visiting team.
The last couple of years we've seen some great teams.
In fact, I think it was two years ago the
game we went to. Will Smith hit three home runs
and was up to bat for his fourth home run
in the game.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
It would have been an incredible thing. But it's fun.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
I mean, all the food you can eat available there
in the suite, all the drinks are all free, well.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
I mean free.
Speaker 3 (10:45):
It's for the children, it's for your child.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
Whatever you want to if you're a beer guy, if
you're a wine guy, whatever you want, will order whatever
you want, a girl, you know whatever.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
And listen, the part about us being there is totally optional.
Will sit in the corner and we all want us
to go. We'll sit outside. We'll face the wall if necessary.
Just to make you happy.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
The bathrooms are really nice on that sweet level, so
I'll just sit in there.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
Yeah. They all the radio broadcast and all the memorabilia
that's up on the walls every time. Again the auction
items for our Dodger game. You can co host an
hour with John, which is crazy in the.
Speaker 4 (11:23):
Backyard speaking of John, by the way.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
And the Dodgers game also won with Dean and Tina.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
That's available.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
Yes, Okay, So this was before you were here, and
I started with John is John and Ken's anchor, I
don't know, two thousand and ten ish maybe, And I
think it was the first year that we made John
do weird stuff.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
Now I'm getting where I got this.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
From, now you understand.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
Yeah, And it was that year that we had him
eat a piece of broccoli for the children's this first
piece of broccoli ever, Oh god, and then it kind
of evolves. Yes, now I've gotten a little hint. I
have a source. I have a source, and I've gotten
a hint. And that's all say about what's gonna happen
(12:11):
during the John Cobalt Show today. But I see a
number of empty chairs right now, and these all need
to be filled for what's going to happen during the
John Cobalt Show. Because it is going to be something
that you think about on your deathbed, like we will
never forget seeing what you're gonna see today during the
John Cobalt Show. And I am not over selling it.
(12:35):
Scary you have the same source. Am I over selling it?
Speaker 3 (12:39):
Yes? The no, No, I'm.
Speaker 4 (12:42):
Sorry, No, You're never going to get that out of
your head.
Speaker 3 (12:46):
I the preview that we have is still blazoned.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
It's when you, like.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
You close your eyes and you can still see the outline.
I still see it, and it's terrifying.
Speaker 4 (13:00):
It's really terrifying. Isn't this gonna be the best year yet?
Speaker 1 (13:04):
Show to find best, the most ridiculous, humiliating. So John
Colby loves it. That's the fun thing about John. He
loved your robes you put it?
Speaker 7 (13:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (13:19):
Oh and then the pajamas. I love gem like he
secretly loves this time. God bless his wife. I don't
know what she deals with today.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
I don't think Ki dot com splash Pastathon is where
you find all of the auction items and also all
of the information about how a year.
Speaker 4 (13:38):
Oh and that's gonna be my fing is gonna be
your fault?
Speaker 3 (13:40):
Another year? Can't do another.
Speaker 7 (13:45):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
Fifteen annual Pastathon today the Anaheim Whitehouse Restaurant to benefit
Katerina's Club will be here all through eight o'clock tonight.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
John's coming up in just a bit.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
You've got Conway and his crowd coming on at four
o'clock all the way through eight o'clock, so plenty of
opportunity for you to stop. Buy the restaurant today, drop
off your donations, your pasta, your sauce, Come on in
and hang out for a little bit.
Speaker 4 (14:13):
To tell you, Okay, I have a confession. I didn't
ask you first?
Speaker 3 (14:17):
Is this you? You ate all of the No?
Speaker 4 (14:20):
I didn't eat all of the toffee?
Speaker 3 (14:21):
Okay?
Speaker 7 (14:22):
Yet?
Speaker 3 (14:23):
Was I bought a sheep? You did?
Speaker 4 (14:26):
I bought a sheep from the giving machine?
Speaker 1 (14:27):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (14:28):
Remember how I saw?
Speaker 3 (14:29):
Does it get here?
Speaker 7 (14:30):
Is this?
Speaker 3 (14:31):
It's not for you? It's for the children. No, not
for me. I don't know actually what it's for.
Speaker 4 (14:35):
But there was an ability on the machine to buy
a sheep, and I took it. I saw that sheep
and I took it. The giving machine is so cool.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
There are giving machines up at These are charity vending machines,
and there's a few of them up right now Riverside
at the Tyler Mall by Macy's and the Huntings to
Beach Pier right across from Dukes. In San Clemente near
the outlets, and then in San Diego the Old Town
Twig Street parking Lot C you'll be able to find these.
Kristen Samuellian with the SoCal Giving Machines, is here to
(15:05):
talk about.
Speaker 7 (15:06):
What this is.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
It's a kiosk for you to feel good about yourself.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
It's basically perfect because we're so into quick and easy
and instant gratification, and you have.
Speaker 4 (15:16):
Done that with the giving machine.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
It's pretty amazing.
Speaker 4 (15:19):
It's pretty amazing.
Speaker 8 (15:20):
So for those of you who aren't here, imagine in
your head a vending machine. Right, instead of getting soda
and chips, you can actually give to local charities. And
even though it's so easy these days to give to
any charity online, there is something different right about walking
up to that machine and giving an item, a personal
(15:40):
item to someone in need in our community.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
Yeah, you can pick out anything, whether it's food or
a beanie, a beanie for a kid who's cold in
the winter.
Speaker 4 (15:50):
Season.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
You can do that.
Speaker 4 (15:51):
There's just a number of ways that personalizes your donation.
Speaker 8 (15:54):
Yeah, it's pretty incredible. We've had so much success with it.
And you forgot to say we're at the grove too
this year.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
Yeah, I do know that.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
Okay, Yeah, And the thing is at least this one
here right across the top or the different options to
donate to Katerina's Club, But how do you partner with
the different organizations that you have in these giving machines.
Speaker 8 (16:13):
That's the best part of my job, honestly, is getting
to know these different charities.
Speaker 4 (16:17):
I mean, we have so many great charities here in
Orange County, but.
Speaker 8 (16:21):
Katerina's Club is a relationship that we just made this
year with KFI and I just spent some time with
Chef Bruno over in Huntington Beach. He's over at our
Huntington Beach machine this morning.
Speaker 4 (16:32):
And it's such a wonderful charity. I mean, to think about.
Speaker 8 (16:34):
Twenty five thousand kids getting a hot meal out of
this restaurant.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
Amazing.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
You bring up the Huntington Beach pier there and it's
such a glorious postcard of Orange County and it's also
beautiful and it reminds you how lucky you are when
you're out there, and how lucky we are to live
in Orange County and have this beauty all the time.
Speaker 4 (16:53):
It's a nice reminder that there are people that need things.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
They are living in Orange County, they are living in
southern California, and so it's a perfect place to remind people,
hey be grateful and also give back.
Speaker 8 (17:05):
Absolutely absolutely, And so we've got you know, Chuck Children's
Hospital is in there, so you can give to families
and children who are receiving treatment. We've got a therapy
dog from Chalk that you can support over there, which
is really fun. Waymakers is in our charity Boys and
Girls Club is always a huge hit. We have so
many fabulous charities that we're partnering with. I wish we
(17:27):
could have more in the machine, honestly, I.
Speaker 4 (17:29):
Wish we could have more.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
A couple of pages you could swipe through, like it's
a big path or.
Speaker 4 (17:33):
Something like that, like a dating app. You know, it
is kind of like a dating app. The sheep, I'm
like that.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
So then the mechanism is basically, you guys, whether it's credit, debit,
whatever card is that that goes to the charities directly.
How does it yeah, And.
Speaker 8 (17:48):
What's really unique about the giving machine I have to
say is that one hundred percent of the donations that
you make are going to go directly to the charity.
And that's part of our vetting system with the charities,
because we want to know that it's not going to
be spent on a lot of overhead. That if you
buy a backpack for a kid from Boys and Girls Club,
they're going to get a backpack.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
If you buy a sheep, somebody in the Middle East
is getting a sheep someone in the mid today.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
That's a whole other discussion right one. For a second,
you could find the giving machines again riverside of the
Tyler Mall by Macy's Huntington Beach Pier.
Speaker 2 (18:29):
Right across from Dukes. Just look for a Chef Bruno.
Speaker 3 (18:31):
He's out there San Clementi Outlets, the San Diego Old
Town and then the one at the Grove as well.
So while you're out there doing the Christmas shopping or
holiday shopping, whatever it is, it's an opportunity for people
to just stop by and listen. I don't like the
idea that we have to make it easy necessarily for
people to give. It would be nice if they just
took it upon themselves to find something that they could
help out with. Driving out to the restaurant dropping off
(18:52):
postin sauced He's.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
Been a field and sending it to the Middle East.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
But a lot of times we do get too busy,
and this is one of those great things. It kind
of greases the kids a little bit, makes it easier
for people to give. Absolutely.
Speaker 8 (19:04):
And actually the items in that machine start at five
dollars and I have literally seen kids bring, you know,
lemonade stand money or whatever to the machine and make.
Speaker 4 (19:14):
The purchase less. Sounds good less. So it's a great
way to teach your kids this holiday. Hey, baving a.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
Lot of money on those lemonade stands, you know, they're
like a racket, like a big organization.
Speaker 4 (19:24):
It is a racket. You got to give back, you know,
save your tax dollars.
Speaker 2 (19:27):
Kristen Samuel and again, so cal Giving Machines. Thanks for
stopping by today.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
Thank you, thank you, all right, we'll come back.
Speaker 7 (19:34):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
A couple of things. Number one we wanted to do one.
It is a beautiful day, beautiful day.
Speaker 4 (19:47):
The sun is shining. It's what seventy two degrees?
Speaker 1 (19:50):
I wouldn't go that far, but gorgeous. There are Christmas
trees decorated outside. There are light up reindeer. There is
a coffee tent.
Speaker 4 (19:58):
Thank you Jesus.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
There is a lot of things just to get you
in the spirit. There are your closest friends here that
you've never met. Deborah Mark is here and she looks beautiful,
and her that that blazer is incredible.
Speaker 4 (20:12):
I mean it's sparkly, but not like metallically.
Speaker 1 (20:14):
What is it?
Speaker 4 (20:16):
But it's shiny, it's kind of foiy Yeah, right?
Speaker 1 (20:22):
Is that a word?
Speaker 4 (20:23):
I don't know? Okay, it's my word.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
Debora looks beautiful. You're wearing a new sweater. Thanks for
noticing it. Notice you look adorable.
Speaker 4 (20:31):
And everyone's here for a good cause.
Speaker 3 (20:33):
I mean, this is the way I did.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
I never picked the right compliment for you. What would
you like me to say? It doesn't work that way, right,
because I don't know if it doesn't sound like it's genuine. Okay,
It's like when I tell you your hair looks good
when I know you've been getting your hair done right,
Like when you come home from the salon and I'm like,
your hair looks great, you look so pretty. It doesn't
really mean that.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
When you say it like that.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
No, okay, that's what That's why I try to take
as much of that out of it and I just
go hair.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
Yeah. Like I'll walk in, I'm like, I feel good
about my outfit, right, maybe you got like new pair
of pants on or something.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
And I'll walk in and Gary'll be.
Speaker 4 (21:08):
Like, jeans, Like that's his compliment, jeans.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
What would you like me to say?
Speaker 4 (21:16):
It's fine.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
Richie could say things to you and you just eat
it up, but I can't. Well, Ritchie's genuine. There's also
that hey, we want to make sure that we think
by the way. Our friends at the Hilton Anaheim, they
put up a lot of the KFI pastafon Crew Overnight,
the all new guest rooms. They have a modern California look.
They have the pool pool deck up on the rooftop
(21:37):
now the Salt Flower pool Side eatery. You could also
dine at the Poppies restaurant. Amy King earlier today said
that the hamburger she had at Poppy's restaurant was the
Oh Deborah.
Speaker 4 (21:47):
She took a shot at you, and I, Amy, did.
Speaker 3 (21:50):
Make sure you say your next unforgettable stay at Hilton
Anaheim Hotel dot com.
Speaker 4 (21:55):
I was asking her about the burger. I said, tell
me what they did do it?
Speaker 1 (21:58):
Because I I haven't had a burger in a long time,
and it's not I know this is not your love language.
Speaker 4 (22:02):
But imagine it's a possible burger.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
We're talking.
Speaker 4 (22:04):
I don't like impossible burgers. Imagine that the plate of
garbonzo beans.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
I love garbonzoban right, and so if Amy said she
had a great plate of garbonzo.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
Beans seeds they're called fart seat.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
At the Hilton Anaheim, you'd be like, what did they
do to them? Absolutely, that's what I asked her about
the burger.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
I go, what was on?
Speaker 4 (22:20):
It was going on with the bun? Was it a
hot bunch?
Speaker 1 (22:23):
He goes, I'm not Deborah Mark like I was doing
sexy talk about the burger and I just had been
a while.
Speaker 7 (22:29):
So what is she is?
Speaker 3 (22:30):
She just very proved.
Speaker 4 (22:31):
I don't think she she.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
Likes to keep her food separate from her from her sex. Sex.
Speaker 4 (22:36):
Probably we like to mix a mask.
Speaker 1 (22:38):
We do.
Speaker 3 (22:39):
Everything's on the table. Is There are several ways that
you can help out. I'm just gonna slink back in
the corner. Several ways that you can help out with
pastas on. One of them is to just come on
out here to the Anaheim White House at restaurant hang
out for a little bit if you want. If you
have pasta and sauce that you'd like to donate, you
can just simply through the parking lot. We'll pull it
(23:02):
out of your car for you. You want to drop
off a check or some other donations.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
We're not gonna pull it out of your car. That's
on aggressive. We're gonna rob them in their cars.
Speaker 3 (23:09):
If they have pastaen sauce, we will rob them. Okay, yes,
and it doesn't listen. You could bring a dump truck
through here.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
We've done that before. Any I wasn't making a joke
about you.
Speaker 3 (23:24):
Also, any Wendy's restaurant throughout southern California, you can donate there.
We talked earlier with our friend from Wildfork Foods. Any
of the eleven southern California Wildfork Foods donations. When you
check out, simply say KFI Postathon and fifteen percent of
your purchase will be donated to Katerina's Club of course,
those giving machines that are out there, those charity kiosks,
(23:46):
and the big deal this year is again these auction
items that are up. If you go to KFI am
six forty dot com slash postathon, they have several different
auction items that we hosts have put together for the
benefit of Katerina's Clubs.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
So our auction item is one that I would bid
on us excluded. It's a Dodgers game.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
Just look for the most photoshopped picture of two hosts
on that page.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
That's it doesn't even look like us, so you might
be confused. But Richie worked his magic and made two
lovely people out of.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
Those people seem nice.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
They do.
Speaker 4 (24:24):
I don't know who they are. But so it's a
Dodger game.
Speaker 1 (24:28):
It's the hottest ticket in baseball right now, and it's
the sweet. It's the iHeartMedia sweet. And so you go
to the Dodger game, you're basically ushered in. You have
great parking, you get to go to the level. That's
all sweet. So you walk in and people just let
you walk wherever you want to go. For me, I'm
(24:48):
an upper deck person. This is all very foreign to me.
I'm usually you know, at the top I sit.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
In Glendale, you can often see the city skyline, which
is an example of how fay.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
When I'm on the sweet level, it's very fancy, very cool,
and you just walk in and the hallways are just
adorned with all this historical Dodger stuff or just MLB period,
you know, stuff from the from the forties and the fifties,
and it's so cool to just walk through history.
Speaker 4 (25:16):
And then you get into the suite and it's it's beautiful.
It's air conditioned.
Speaker 1 (25:20):
Usually we go in the summer, so it's fun to
watch everyone dying of heat stroke.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
And you're cold, and you're comfortably cold.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
You're eating all the food you've got.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
You've got refrigerator full of cold beer or wine or whatever,
and you've got Dodger dogs there. You've got a whole
oven of them, whatever you call those things, you know
what I mean, the metal things where they keep the
food heating, seventy five Dodger dogs in that heating tray
that you can just eat all of them.
Speaker 3 (25:47):
If you can eat seventy five Dodger dogs, and when
you eat seventy five, they bring seventy five or you guys.
And then there's the peanuts. Don't forget about the peanuts.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
Peanuts all you can gain.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
Okay, this is my favorite part. The dessert tray rolls.
It's about a seventh inning. I thought it's a real thing.
The dessert cart is like, it's got cakes, and they're like,
it's it's like a Willy Wonka factory desserts on this cart.
Speaker 4 (26:11):
It's insane and you get to pick whatever you want and.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
You sit there and you just gorge on chocolate and
cake and you watch the Dodgers and it's an incredible experience.
And because I promised some weird stuff with Gary, he
now has been confirmed to dance in the suite during
the game if you want him to. If you don't,
that's fine too. And then if it goes up to
another thousand dollars, I think that's when.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
The lotion this is getting weird. We already have.
Speaker 1 (26:38):
The silence of the Lamb's joke, which was inappropriate yesterday,
but it's kind of carried through today, where you know,
when the girls in the in the basement put on its.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
Body and Gary will do that for you, or I'll
get the hose again. But we got or you get
I Love a nineteen ninety three reference. It ages us
so well again. Check out the auction item. So when
you go to KFIAM six forty dot com slash pastathon,
we have some more totals coming up for the eleven
o'clock totals. As of right now, we're still pacing ahead
(27:09):
of where we were a year ago, which is great news.
We'll talk about all kinds of stuff still to come
on The Gary and Shannon Show. You've been listening to
The Gary and Shannon Show, you can always hear us
