Dick Cheney has died eighty four years old, and listening
to clips of him this morning, along with voices like
Tim Russert, is so refreshing. It's it's crazy. I mean,
I wasn't like a cheerleader for Dick Cheney twenty years ago,
but I respect the hell out of smart people. And

listening to clips of those interviews and hearing him with
wolf Blitzer and wolf Blitzer being exposed as a complete
dumb dumb was fun too to go down memory lane.
But my god, when you look at the rhetoric of
what it was circa two thousand two, thousand and one,
two thousand and two, and what it is now from politicians.

Not only has it been dumbed down, but the lies
are and they're not as clever as they're lying now.
And just the elevated conversation. The conversation was elevated back then.
Now I feel like we're at a base level.

A lot of the ways I've seen his legacy described
him Dick Cheney's legacy described is it's complicated, It's going
to be complicated. He was arguably one of the most
accomplished and ready vice presidents we've ever had in terms
of his experience at very high levels of government doing

very important jobs.

He was the Defense secretary, he was well in fact.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
He was a young chief of staff as well, right
thirty five, thirty four to thirty five, something like that.

In fact, when he was on the debate stage with Lieberman,
you know a lot of people wondered at the time,
why aren't these two at the top of the ticket
just really smart people, or don't need to relitigate the
war post nine to eleven and weapons of mass destruction?

That was also one of the criticisms. I thought, didn't
it never landed. For me, I understand it. I've seen
the logic of it, that he was the architect of
what they described as these ongoing, never ending wars that
it took couple of other presidents to finally get us
out of completely. But you mean to tell me that

the way that the Middle East was bubbling up in
the late nineties, well even the early nineties, into the nineties,
into the early two thousands, you mean to tell me
that there wasn't going to be some sort of incredibly
large conflict that was going to cost millions of lives,
that somehow the world was going to stay out of
it unless Dick Cheney put his finger on the button

decided to go into a rack in Afghanistan.

That doesn't make any sense to me.

Yeah, I get why he is considered the architect of
those two wars, but to say that that wouldn't have
happened if it weren't for Dick Cheney seems a little
bit shallow to me. Jonathan Carl a political analyst for ABC.
All of these analysts that all have ideas and opinions
about Dick Cheney, but I thought his story that he's

told this morning on Good Morning America was pretty interesting.

Classic Dick Cheney when he endorsed Kamala Harris. It wasn't
simply remarkable for his endorsement of a Democrat for the
first time in his entire life. But what he said
about Donald Trump. He said, quote in our nation's two
hundred and forty eight year history, there has never been
an individual who is a greater threat to our republic
than Donald Trump. He can never be trusted with power again.

And he was an man of few words. I will
never forget Robin. When I was covering the the the
Bush campaign in two thousand and I had heard that
Dick Cheney had changed his registration to vote in Wyoming,
which would have been a requirement effectively for him to
be the running mate. He was running the search for
a running mate, and I got his home phone number.
I called him up at home and he answered, and

I said, so is this true? Are you actually under consideration?
Are you leading candidate now to be the running mate?
And he just answered, yeah.

Few words, had a few words.

Yeah.

How do you think he will be remembered, you know,
I mean, it's a complicated legacy. He will be remembered,
certainly for his role in protecting America after nine to
eleven for that big mistake that America made in the
war with Iraq, and absolutely as being a patriot and
a defender of American democracy until his last days.

I thought that was an interesting way to put it.
I mean, like he started with the story regarding the
endorsement of Kamala Harris and the backlash that it got,
not just from Magas specifically, but also from the Republicans
that had been part and his daughter, Liz eventually became
sort of the face of Republicans who didn't like Trump.

She and Adam Kidzinger, they became the outcasts for the
party because they refused to show support for the guy
that was going to become their nominee.

And his support for his daughter back in the day
when coming out is as gay in public was something
that you had to have great courage for if you
were a known name, and he stood by her despite
what was an uphill battle in some conservative circles for
that kind of a thing. Another slap at candidate Trump

at the time he spoke out about Trump's proposal the
ban Muslims from entering the US, saying, I think this
whole notion that somehow we can just say no more Muslims,
just ban a whole religion goes against everything we stand
for and believe in. And you've got to wonder if
on a day like today, the possible election of a
Muslim socialist in New York would have ever happened twenty

years post nine to eleven, if Trump wasn't in the
White House, if this isn't just all Trump related and
f you to the White House, And what do we
do into the city of New York in the process.

Combed through all of election day and what it brings
on this November fourth, and it looks like there are
four contests commanding the most national attention. Number one is
the one we mentioned in New York City, thirty four
year old Democratic socialist Zoron, Mom, Donnie, you've heard his name.
The New York Times is in love with him. I
(08:45):
think they've put him on the front page or the
front page of their magazine once or twice a month
for the past three months. From what I've seen, I
only get the paper on Sundays to do the puzzle,
but it's from what I've seen they're in love with
this guy. He leads the polls by a comfortable margin
against former Governor Andrew Cuomo and If your question is

why can't they find somebody else to run, I'm with you.
He is now running as an independent, Andrew Cuomo is,
and then there's a Republican who has a distant third,
Curtis Sleewar slowly slow Why Yeah?
Speaker 2 (09:19):
He and he had been called on multiple times, especially
in the last month or so, to drop out, the
assumption being that the people who would vote for Curtis
Leewa would then only be left with the chance, with
the option between Momdanni and Cuomo, that they would vote
for Cuomo that would put him up over the top
and he would become the mayor of New York City,
(09:40):
Which is the craziest I mean, we're recycling these people
over and over again.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
What is Andrew Cuomo coming back from? Can we remember
what his fall from grace was? Well, if you ever
lived in the world of grace.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
For one thing, there were the there are people who
say many people are saying he killed Grandma during COVID
because remember he was forcing people into nursing homes and
out of hospitals, which is where the absolute death nell existed.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
It was in the nursing homes.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
It started up at the nursing homes in Washington State,
just in terms of the devastation, and nobody was like, hey,
maybe we stopped putting grandma in the nursing home where
they can cough on each other all day. That then
he got caught having, you know, been a little grabby
on the tops in the bottoms with some of the
staff members in the governor's mansion.

And he's not a good person.

Mom Donnie said, yesterday morning, when the sun comes up,
everything changes, Shadows lift off the river, light reflects off
of office building windows, and you start to fill the
warmth of a new day.

Is that like punk Satani phil or something like that?

Some crap, he said, That's how we'll feel again tomorrow
when the polls close at nine pm Eastern. He has
framed Andrew Cuomo as Trump's puppet in this race. Trump
is not the only one to call Mom Donnie a communist,
but Trump has threatened to withhold federal dollars from the
City com.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
Trump hates Cuomo.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
Cuomo hates exactly. Trump did urge New Yorkers in his
strongest terms yet to vote for Cuomo, however, writing on
Truth Social that voters really have no choice. That's the
thing you got to pick the lesser of the evil
in Trump's mind, and that's Andrew Cuomo. It's the evil
that you know, it's the evil that you can control.
(11:38):
A thirty four year old unknown socialist that took off
like a meteor and is drunk on ego and popularity
really is a big question mark. And everyone's going to
fall out of love with socialism once they remember how
it doesn't work right.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
I think it's George will the great columnist.

He wrote something and I'm paraphrasing, but it was like,
every twenty or three years, we need to have a
socialist candidate or a discussion about socialist policies that is
actually put in office, put in place, so we're reminded
of how awful it actually is. Right and this may
be the thing. I mean, obviously the largest stage we've seen,

but still just an He's running on feelings, he's running
on free stuff. And one of the criticisms that Cuomo
has leveled against Mom Donnie regularly is you have no
idea how government.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
Works, right, and if you love socialism, good on you
go somewhere else. That's not what this country is about.
It's not what it's ever been about it doesn't work
for us. I mean, yeah, like you said, we could
do a whole thing on the problem with socialism. It's
something that twenty two year olds fall in love with
every generation.

And there are headlines that also suggest that large Jewish
groups and Jewish organizations are supporting Zoron Mamdani. If you
drilled down a little bit on these so called Hasidic
Jewish groups and Jewish organizations, they are so far outside
of traditional Judaism that they're just getting the benefit of suggesting, oh,

look they have a star of David on their on
their building or their logo or whatever.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
They are not.

They are not mainstream Jewish people. They are in New
York City who are supporting this guy.

Also, President Barack Obama has not endorsed him.

Yeah, people don't. I don't understand.

He's going to be the mayor. He's going to drive
that place back into the ground. And yes, I think
Rudy Giuliani is a complete whack job there, but he
cleaned up that city.

He was great.

the spotlight. One of them is that mayor of New York.
There's two races for governor that are also big, one

in New Jersey, one in Virginia, and of course our

to it because Jessica Cardalahia is a national correspondent for
News Nation. She's covering what's going on in New York
and mentioned some other races and focus today in New Jersey,
there's a governor's race capturing a bunch of eyes as well.

Yeah, the governor's race specifically between Chittarell and if I'm
not mistaken, Nicky the Democrat So let's start there in
terms of why this is such a high profile race
that's being watched around the country.
Speaker 6 (15:13):

It's actually a little bit warm today. We appreciate it.

Actually, I think that was Dora Mom Donnie who promised
that throughout the tri state area.
Speaker 6 (15:24):
Yes, there have been a lot of campaign promises made. Okay,
So let's start.

With New Jersey.
Speaker 6 (15:32):
So we had an incident this morning. Polling places here
in Jersey were temporarily disrupted because someone sent bomb threats
into sites in at least seven counties, and that was
a really big deal because the state's top election official
had to, of course, you know, investigate, but did reassure
the public that voters and poll workers are safe and
(15:52):
that every vote can still be casked and will count.
There was no device ever found a mighty share writing
today on social media that she will not stand for
voter suppression in our state and encourages all New Jerseyans
to get out and vote. This race is a huge
deal because it will decide who will be governor. So
(16:13):
it's only New Jersey and Virginia that have these governor
races and or gubernatorial races rather, and you know, if
Mikey Cheryl wins, she would become the state's second female governor.
She and Chittarelli though neck and neck here his son
flying back. He'd been overseas serving time with the army.
(16:34):
He came home surprised as father Cheryl was still out
canvassing yesterday. So again, it's just a really really tight
contest here in New Jersey. You want to get into
New York.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
Just one question here about Shitdarelli, well known there in
New Jersey, ran for governor in twenty twenty one, twenty seventeen,
and what's interesting about him is he kind of plays
the balancing act when it comes to Trump. Hasn't really
backed wait with him, but hasn't gone full Maga right exactly.
Speaker 6 (17:04):
So he's hoping really that third times a charm, really
trying to you know, ride this this Trump wave. You
know we did see at the last election when President
Trump was running, he lost New Jersey by only six
points to Kamala. So you know, we are saying it's
a very purple state now and we're going from a
(17:26):
democratic governor who has turned out to now possibly seeing
this swap and Chitorelli is hoping that he can ride
that wave right in.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
And as a Republican, can you talk at all about
what's going on with the ballot itself in New York City.
I'd heard a couple of different reports already today that
you've got zoron mom, Donnie's name listed twice, You've got
some blank spaces that appear before you get to Cuomo's name.
Speaker 3 (17:53):
Is that going to be an issue?
Speaker 6 (17:55):
You know, from what we've heard, it shouldn't be an issue.
You also have you know, candidates that had dropped out
of the race. Eric Adams is still listed on there
as well. So I do know that the polling locations
are offering assistance to anyone who needs it. But you know,
so many people went out and voted early that I

think that they're hoping to kind of ride that out
as well. That was an unprecedented number of voters, especially
younger voters. But an answer to your question, we're thinking
it's not going to have a huge impact here. Whether
it can have an impact with counting vote, you know,
who knows that remains to be seen later this evening.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
Yeah, you've got this thirty four year old socialist, how
should we watch the polling come in. Is it the
fact that the early results will lean towards Cuomo and
the later ones will go for Mom Donnie or what
are you expecting?
Speaker 6 (18:48):
You know, it's hard to tell. Because we saw seven
hundred and thirty five thousand New Yorkers casting early ballots.
That's the highest in person turnout ever for a non
presidential election city. And according to the city's Board of Elections,
there was really that surgeon participation from voters under the
age of thirty five, which brought down the voting media

in to about fifty noubt. Whether they are in support
of Mom Donni or Cuomo remains to be seen, right,
Mom Donnie things that they're for him, but a lot
of people are not in support of Mamdani and in
support of Cuomo. Sliwa of course hanging on, but you know,
not really relevant at this point. But as far as
(19:32):
the younger voters, again, you know, we'll see who comes
out in force. There was also a huge push among
the Jewish community. We had a rabbi who was speaking
and saying, we can't have Mom Donni and everybody needs
to get out and vote. So they were hoping for
that push, you know, in the eleventh hour. So then
you know, yesterday afternoon, President Trump through his support behind Cuomo.
(19:56):
Basically I was saying, it was like a compliment you
get from your mother and life. Wasn't an endorsement. It
wasn't necessarily a nice comment, but it was, Hey, you
can't have mom Donnie and vote for Cuebo. And then
you also had former President Barack Obama made a personal
call to mom Donnie earlier this week, basically saying or
over the weekend, rather saying you know, I support you,
(20:19):
coming short of an endorsement. He's very careful not to
endorse a candidate typically, but saying you know, you have
my support. If you ever need anything, give me a call.
So this election really an indication of the direction of
the Democratic Party. We have eight million residents in Manhattan
and a trillion dollar economy, so all eyes really on
(20:41):
this election because you know, New York City sets trends
that shape policy across the country.

All Right, it's going to be the long day, Jessica Card.

Yeah, I wish I had more definitive answers for you guys,
but you know, we have many of the same questions
you do because we're just kind of watching as things
happen here, you know, New Jersey, really where I am today.
They were like, you know, do we have you at
the you know, in Mikey Cheryl's camp, or do we
have you at Chittarelli is because we just don't know
who's gonna win. So it's gonna be one to watch.

Okay, uh well, I hope you have fun flying over
the holidays. If this government shutdown doesn't get fixed, we
are in for more messes. Department of Transportation could be
forced to shut down airspace in certain parts of the
country if the government shut down continues into next week.

This again from the Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy. He said,
if you bring us to a week from today, you
will see mass chaos. He specifically called out Democrats. He said,
you will see mass flight delays, you'll see mass cancelations,
and you may see us close certain parts of airspace
because we just cannot manage it because we don't have
(23:30):
the Air Traffic Controller PS.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
Breaking news out of DC Dulles all flights in and
out of DC's airport have been stopped due to a
bomb threat on a flight. This has happened over the
past hour or so, the pilot telling passengers, I have
no idea what's going on. We're number three in our line,
but there's four lines. Controllers not willing to tell anybody
(23:54):
with their sequences. I have no idea how long it's
going to take to get off the ground from one flight.
All flights halted at Reagan National after a bomb threat
on an arriving aircraft triggered a full ground stop. The
plane was moved to the east side of the airfield
as a safety measure, but that's going to have ripple
effects as well.

As of right now, they're saying.

About seventeen hundred delays in the United States. That is
going to jump up significantly with this news. Out of Dulles,
only about forty eight flights that have been canceled today
that are either into or going out of the United States.
So in terms of the delays and cancelations from air
traffic control problems, they're there, but they're not as significant

as we had seen over the last couple of days.

The plane in question at Dulles is United five to
one two and the audio is pretty wild and air
traffic controller tells United fight flight five to one two
to taxi further away from the airport terminal, and here's
the quote, I'm sorry to have to do this to you.
We have an unconfirmed bomb report for your flight. That's

comforting and again, uh, that has not been confirmed, obviously
you would know, but that uh, but that yeah, all
flights remain halted. This is just this is just unraveled.
In the past hour or so. They're saying that their
main fly their main runway reopened now out of Reagan.
(25:26):
Checking on their the direct website there, they do say
that their main runway reopened about four minutes ago, that
flights are resuming slowly but surely. But it was about
an hour that all flights were halted there at Dulles Reagan.
So it looks like things things may be, uh slowly
but truly getting back to normal. The official the official
(25:50):
report from Reagan Airport again is that flights are resuming.

Is that is this is air travel the things.

What it did in twenty nineteen. But at the time
in twenty nineteen when we saw all these delays, and
ground stoppage. Trump was the one to come in and
use his muscle, yeah and get this thing back going.
He doesn't seem primed to do that this time around.
He's gonna make the Democrats wear this thing, if people
believe that, because remember we're headed into midterms. Okay, So

all of these people's plans and all if this can
all be blamed on Democrats. What a powerful message that

to clips of him this morning, along with voices like
Tim Russert, is so refreshing. It's it's crazy. I mean,
I wasn't like a cheerleader for Dick Cheney twenty years ago,
but I respect the hell out of smart people. And

listening to clips of those interviews and hearing him with
wolf Blitzer and wolf Blitzer being exposed as a complete
dumb dumb was fun too to go down memory lane.
But my god, when you look at the rhetoric of
what it was circa two thousand two, thousand and one,
two thousand and two, and what it is now from politicians.

Not only has it been dumbed down, but the lies
are and they're not as clever as they're lying now.
And just the elevated conversation. The conversation was elevated back then.
Now I feel like we're at a base level.

A lot of the ways I've seen his legacy described
him Dick Cheney's legacy described is it's complicated, It's going
to be complicated. He was arguably one of the most
accomplished and ready vice presidents we've ever had in terms
of his experience at very high levels of government doing

very important jobs.

He was the Defense secretary, he was well in fact.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
He was a young chief of staff as well, right
thirty five, thirty four to thirty five, something like that.

In fact, when he was on the debate stage with Lieberman,
you know a lot of people wondered at the time,
why aren't these two at the top of the ticket
just really smart people, or don't need to relitigate the
war post nine to eleven and weapons of mass destruction?
Speaker 2 (03:24):
That was also one of the criticisms. I thought, didn't
it never landed. For me, I understand it. I've seen
the logic of it, that he was the architect of
what they described as these ongoing, never ending wars that
it took couple of other presidents to finally get us
out of completely. But you mean to tell me that

the way that the Middle East was bubbling up in
the late nineties, well even the early nineties, into the nineties,
into the early two thousands, you mean to tell me
that there wasn't going to be some sort of incredibly
large conflict that was going to cost millions of lives,
that somehow the world was going to stay out of
it unless Dick Cheney put his finger on the button

decided to go into a rack in Afghanistan.

That doesn't make any sense to me.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Yeah, I get why he is considered the architect of
those two wars, but to say that that wouldn't have
happened if it weren't for Dick Cheney seems a little
bit shallow to me. Jonathan Carl a political analyst for ABC.
All of these analysts that all have ideas and opinions
about Dick Cheney, but I thought his story that he's

told this morning on Good Morning America was pretty interesting.

Classic Dick Cheney when he endorsed Kamala Harris. It wasn't
simply remarkable for his endorsement of a Democrat for the
first time in his entire life. But what he said
about Donald Trump. He said, quote in our nation's two
hundred and forty eight year history, there has never been
an individual who is a greater threat to our republic
than Donald Trump. He can never be trusted with power again.
(04:59):
And he was an man of few words. I will
never forget Robin. When I was covering the the the
Bush campaign in two thousand and I had heard that
Dick Cheney had changed his registration to vote in Wyoming,
which would have been a requirement effectively for him to
be the running mate. He was running the search for
a running mate, and I got his home phone number.
I called him up at home and he answered, and
(05:22):
I said, so is this true? Are you actually under consideration?
Are you leading candidate now to be the running mate?
And he just answered, yeah.

Few words, had a few words.
Speaker 5 (05:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
How do you think he will be remembered, you know,
I mean, it's a complicated legacy. He will be remembered,
certainly for his role in protecting America after nine to
eleven for that big mistake that America made in the
war with Iraq, and absolutely as being a patriot and
a defender of American democracy until his last days.

I thought that was an interesting way to put it.
I mean, like he started with the story regarding the
endorsement of Kamala Harris and the backlash that it got,
not just from Magas specifically, but also from the Republicans
that had been part and his daughter, Liz eventually became
sort of the face of Republicans who didn't like Trump.

She and Adam Kidzinger, they became the outcasts for the
party because they refused to show support for the guy
that was going to become their nominee.

And his support for his daughter back in the day
when coming out is as gay in public was something
that you had to have great courage for if you
were a known name, and he stood by her despite
what was an uphill battle in some conservative circles for
that kind of a thing. Another slap at candidate Trump
(06:48):
at the time he spoke out about Trump's proposal the
ban Muslims from entering the US, saying, I think this
whole notion that somehow we can just say no more Muslims,
just ban a whole religion goes against everything we stand
for and believe in. And you've got to wonder if
on a day like today, the possible election of a
Muslim socialist in New York would have ever happened twenty

years post nine to eleven, if Trump wasn't in the
White House, if this isn't just all Trump related and
f you to the White House, And what do we
do into the city of New York in the process.

on this November fourth, and it looks like there are
four contests commanding the most national attention. Number one is
the one we mentioned in New York City, thirty four
year old Democratic socialist Zoron, Mom, Donnie, you've heard his name.
The New York Times is in love with him. I
(08:45):
think they've put him on the front page or the
front page of their magazine once or twice a month
for the past three months. From what I've seen, I
only get the paper on Sundays to do the puzzle,
but it's from what I've seen they're in love with
this guy. He leads the polls by a comfortable margin
against former Governor Andrew Cuomo and If your question is
(09:06):
why can't they find somebody else to run, I'm with you.
He is now running as an independent, Andrew Cuomo is,
and then there's a Republican who has a distant third,
Curtis Sleewar slowly slow Why Yeah?
Speaker 2 (09:19):
He and he had been called on multiple times, especially
in the last month or so, to drop out, the
assumption being that the people who would vote for Curtis
Leewa would then only be left with the chance, with
the option between Momdanni and Cuomo, that they would vote
for Cuomo that would put him up over the top
and he would become the mayor of New York City,
(09:40):
Which is the craziest I mean, we're recycling these people
over and over again.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
What is Andrew Cuomo coming back from? Can we remember
what his fall from grace was? Well, if you ever
lived in the world of grace.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
For one thing, there were the there are people who
say many people are saying he killed Grandma during COVID
because remember he was forcing people into nursing homes and
out of hospitals, which is where the absolute death nell existed.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
It was in the nursing homes.

It started up at the nursing homes in Washington State,
just in terms of the devastation, and nobody was like, hey,
maybe we stopped putting grandma in the nursing home where
they can cough on each other all day. That then
he got caught having, you know, been a little grabby
on the tops in the bottoms with some of the
staff members in the governor's mansion.

And he's not a good person.

Mom Donnie said, yesterday morning, when the sun comes up,
everything changes, Shadows lift off the river, light reflects off
of office building windows, and you start to fill the
warmth of a new day.

Is that like punk Satani phil or something like that?

Some crap, he said, That's how we'll feel again tomorrow
when the polls close at nine pm Eastern. He has
framed Andrew Cuomo as Trump's puppet in this race. Trump
is not the only one to call Mom Donnie a communist,
but Trump has threatened to withhold federal dollars from the
City com.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
Trump hates Cuomo.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
Cuomo hates exactly. Trump did urge New Yorkers in his
strongest terms yet to vote for Cuomo, however, writing on
Truth Social that voters really have no choice. That's the
thing you got to pick the lesser of the evil
in Trump's mind, and that's Andrew Cuomo. It's the evil
that you know, it's the evil that you can control.
(11:38):
A thirty four year old unknown socialist that took off
like a meteor and is drunk on ego and popularity
really is a big question mark. And everyone's going to
fall out of love with socialism once they remember how
it doesn't work right.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
I think it's George will the great columnist.

He wrote something and I'm paraphrasing, but it was like,
every twenty or three years, we need to have a
socialist candidate or a discussion about socialist policies that is
actually put in office, put in place, so we're reminded
of how awful it actually is. Right and this may
be the thing. I mean, obviously the largest stage we've seen,

but still just an He's running on feelings, he's running
on free stuff. And one of the criticisms that Cuomo
has leveled against Mom Donnie regularly is you have no
idea how government.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
Works, right, and if you love socialism, good on you
go somewhere else. That's not what this country is about.
It's not what it's ever been about it doesn't work
for us. I mean, yeah, like you said, we could
do a whole thing on the problem with socialism. It's
something that twenty two year olds fall in love with
every generation.

And there are headlines that also suggest that large Jewish
groups and Jewish organizations are supporting Zoron Mamdani. If you
drilled down a little bit on these so called Hasidic
Jewish groups and Jewish organizations, they are so far outside
of traditional Judaism that they're just getting the benefit of suggesting, oh,

look they have a star of David on their on
their building or their logo or whatever.

They are not.

They are not mainstream Jewish people. They are in New
York City who are supporting this guy.

Also, President Barack Obama has not endorsed him.

He's going to be the mayor. He's going to drive
that place back into the ground. And yes, I think
Rudy Giuliani is a complete whack job there, but he
cleaned up that city.

There's two races for governor that are also big, one

News Nation. She's covering what's going on in New York
and mentioned some other races and focus today in New Jersey,
there's a governor's race capturing a bunch of eyes as well.

Yeah, the governor's race specifically between Chittarell and if I'm
not mistaken, Nicky the Democrat So let's start there in
terms of why this is such a high profile race
that's being watched around the country.
Speaker 6 (15:13):

It's actually a little bit warm today. We appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
Actually, I think that was Dora Mom Donnie who promised
that throughout the tri state area.
Speaker 6 (15:24):
Yes, there have been a lot of campaign promises made. Okay,
So let's start.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
With New Jersey.
Speaker 6 (15:32):
So we had an incident this morning. Polling places here
in Jersey were temporarily disrupted because someone sent bomb threats
into sites in at least seven counties, and that was
a really big deal because the state's top election official
had to, of course, you know, investigate, but did reassure
the public that voters and poll workers are safe and
(15:52):
that every vote can still be casked and will count.
There was no device ever found a mighty share writing
today on social media that she will not stand for
voter suppression in our state and encourages all New Jerseyans
to get out and vote. This race is a huge
deal because it will decide who will be governor. So
(16:13):
it's only New Jersey and Virginia that have these governor
races and or gubernatorial races rather, and you know, if
Mikey Cheryl wins, she would become the state's second female governor.
She and Chittarelli though neck and neck here his son
flying back. He'd been overseas serving time with the army.
(16:34):
He came home surprised as father Cheryl was still out
canvassing yesterday. So again, it's just a really really tight
contest here in New Jersey. You want to get into
New York.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
Just one question here about Shitdarelli, well known there in
New Jersey, ran for governor in twenty twenty one, twenty seventeen,
and what's interesting about him is he kind of plays
the balancing act when it comes to Trump. Hasn't really
backed wait with him, but hasn't gone full Maga right exactly.
Speaker 6 (17:04):
So he's hoping really that third times a charm, really
trying to you know, ride this this Trump wave. You
know we did see at the last election when President
Trump was running, he lost New Jersey by only six
points to Kamala. So you know, we are saying it's
a very purple state now and we're going from a
(17:26):
democratic governor who has turned out to now possibly seeing
this swap and Chitorelli is hoping that he can ride
that wave right in.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
And as a Republican, can you talk at all about
what's going on with the ballot itself in New York City.
I'd heard a couple of different reports already today that
you've got zoron mom, Donnie's name listed twice, You've got
some blank spaces that appear before you get to Cuomo's name.
Speaker 3 (17:53):
Is that going to be an issue?
Speaker 6 (17:55):
You know, from what we've heard, it shouldn't be an issue.
You also have you know, candidates that had dropped out
of the race. Eric Adams is still listed on there
as well. So I do know that the polling locations
are offering assistance to anyone who needs it. But you know,
so many people went out and voted early that I
(18:16):
think that they're hoping to kind of ride that out
as well. That was an unprecedented number of voters, especially
younger voters. But an answer to your question, we're thinking
it's not going to have a huge impact here. Whether
it can have an impact with counting vote, you know,
who knows that remains to be seen later this evening.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
Yeah, you've got this thirty four year old socialist, how
should we watch the polling come in. Is it the
fact that the early results will lean towards Cuomo and
the later ones will go for Mom Donnie or what
are you expecting?
Speaker 6 (18:48):
You know, it's hard to tell. Because we saw seven
hundred and thirty five thousand New Yorkers casting early ballots.
That's the highest in person turnout ever for a non
presidential election city. And according to the city's Board of Elections,
there was really that surgeon participation from voters under the
age of thirty five, which brought down the voting media
(19:10):
in to about fifty noubt. Whether they are in support
of Mom Donni or Cuomo remains to be seen, right,
Mom Donnie things that they're for him, but a lot
of people are not in support of Mamdani and in
support of Cuomo. Sliwa of course hanging on, but you know,
not really relevant at this point. But as far as
(19:32):
the younger voters, again, you know, we'll see who comes
out in force. There was also a huge push among
the Jewish community. We had a rabbi who was speaking
and saying, we can't have Mom Donni and everybody needs
to get out and vote. So they were hoping for
that push, you know, in the eleventh hour. So then
you know, yesterday afternoon, President Trump through his support behind Cuomo.
(19:56):
Basically I was saying, it was like a compliment you
get from your mother and life. Wasn't an endorsement. It
wasn't necessarily a nice comment, but it was, Hey, you
can't have mom Donnie and vote for Cuebo. And then
you also had former President Barack Obama made a personal
call to mom Donnie earlier this week, basically saying or
over the weekend, rather saying you know, I support you,
(20:19):
coming short of an endorsement. He's very careful not to
endorse a candidate typically, but saying you know, you have
my support. If you ever need anything, give me a call.
So this election really an indication of the direction of
the Democratic Party. We have eight million residents in Manhattan
and a trillion dollar economy, so all eyes really on
(20:41):
this election because you know, New York City sets trends
that shape policy across the country.

Yeah, I wish I had more definitive answers for you guys,
but you know, we have many of the same questions
you do because we're just kind of watching as things
happen here, you know, New Jersey, really where I am today.

have you at Chittarelli is because we just don't know
who's gonna win. So it's gonna be one to watch.

are in for more messes. Department of Transportation could be
forced to shut down airspace in certain parts of the
country if the government shut down continues into next week.

This again from the Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy. He said,
if you bring us to a week from today, you
will see mass chaos. He specifically called out Democrats. He said,
you will see mass flight delays, you'll see mass cancelations,
and you may see us close certain parts of airspace
because we just cannot manage it because we don't have

the Air Traffic Controller PS.

Breaking news out of DC Dulles all flights in and
out of DC's airport have been stopped due to a
bomb threat on a flight. This has happened over the
past hour or so, the pilot telling passengers, I have
no idea what's going on. We're number three in our line,
but there's four lines. Controllers not willing to tell anybody
(23:54):
with their sequences. I have no idea how long it's
going to take to get off the ground from one flight.
All flights halted at Reagan National after a bomb threat
on an arriving aircraft triggered a full ground stop. The
plane was moved to the east side of the airfield
as a safety measure, but that's going to have ripple
effects as well.

As of right now, they're saying.

About seventeen hundred delays in the United States. That is
going to jump up significantly with this news. Out of Dulles,
only about forty eight flights that have been canceled today
that are either into or going out of the United States.
So in terms of the delays and cancelations from air
traffic control problems, they're there, but they're not as significant

as we had seen over the last couple of days.

The plane in question at Dulles is United five to
one two and the audio is pretty wild and air
traffic controller tells United fight flight five to one two
to taxi further away from the airport terminal, and here's
the quote, I'm sorry to have to do this to you.
We have an unconfirmed bomb report for your flight. That's

comforting and again, uh, that has not been confirmed, obviously
you would know, but that uh, but that yeah, all
flights remain halted. This is just this is just unraveled.
In the past hour or so. They're saying that their
main fly their main runway reopened now out of Reagan.
(25:26):
Checking on their the direct website there, they do say
that their main runway reopened about four minutes ago, that
flights are resuming slowly but surely. But it was about
an hour that all flights were halted there at Dulles Reagan.
So it looks like things things may be, uh slowly
but truly getting back to normal. The official the official
(25:50):
report from Reagan Airport again is that flights are resuming.

Is that is this is air travel the things.

What it did in twenty nineteen. But at the time
in twenty nineteen when we saw all these delays, and
ground stoppage. Trump was the one to come in and
use his muscle, yeah and get this thing back going.
He doesn't seem primed to do that this time around.
He's gonna make the Democrats wear this thing, if people
believe that, because remember we're headed into midterms. Okay, So

all of these people's plans and all if this can
all be blamed on Democrats. What a powerful message that
would make. And the longer you let the pain go on,
the stronger the message.
