abandon us on the week of Christmas. We're not abandoning
you will actually be her on Christmas Eve and presenting
you a special production on Christmas Eve as.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
Well, and a gift exchange and a gift exchange. I
guess I should get no.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
Heart felt, thoughtful gifts.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Oh man, I gotta get crack in.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
A lot of pressure that a nobody has to bring
any presents.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
No, no, Sometimes it's just a heart felt bottle of
wine I find in the basement.

Speaker 5 (00:53):
Or just a hey, Merry Christmas. And that's enough a
lot of people. That was for me right right there, Elmer,
you might want to practice that just so just just
marry contact and all that good stuff.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
You a hugger, yes, yeah, I knew it. I felt that. Well,
we'll get a hug in someday.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
You guys haven't hugged before.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
We pounded we pound.

Speaker 5 (01:18):
I'm sorry, We're going to find a different way.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
And I'm not kissing babies.

Speaker 6 (01:27):
I'm just here.

Speaker 5 (01:29):
We got the real problem is that our leaders are done.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
The other side never quit, so remember it. I'm not
going anywhere.

Speaker 7 (01:37):
So that now you train the.

Speaker 4 (01:39):
Squaw, I can imagine what can be and be unburdened
by what has been.

Speaker 8 (01:43):
You know, Americans have always been going president, but they're
not stupid.

Speaker 5 (01:47):
A political flunder is when a politician actually tells the truth.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
We have the people voted for you were not swamp.
They're all so uh. I don't want to forget to
bring this up.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
I saw the headline this morning, clicked on it and
got a chuckle, an amusement, a moment of amusement that
President Trump has announced the Patriot Games with two high
school athletes from each state competing for the state, for
the United States its two hundred and fiftieth birthday, and
to me, the Hunger Games, the Hunger Games right away,

(02:18):
two players from every district to celebrate the big anniversary.
I mean, it is the quarter. It is exactly what
the Hunger Games is, except for the murder and all that.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
What are they going to compete in.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Well, here is what we know. This will be during
the United States is two hundred and fiftieth birthday, a
competition with young athletes from across the country, he says.
He said, in the fall, we will host the first
ever Patriot Games, an unprecedented four day athletic event featuring

(02:51):
the greatest high school athletes, one young man and one
young woman from each state and territory. Democrats. Okay, so
Democrats on the Hunger Games right away? Apparently I think
a lot of people. Did Republican or Democrat come on?
This was in a video announcement that he revealed plans
for this for Freedom two fifty, which was announced yesterday,

(03:13):
a national non partisan organization leading the administration celebration of
America's two hundred and fiftieth birthday. He previously previewed the
competition in July, saying at the time it would be
televised and led by Robert F.

Speaker 4 (03:26):
Kennedy.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
He wants to also start construction on a new arch
monument in DC as well. We're the only major place
he said, without a triumphal arc, a beautiful triumphal arc,
one like in Paris where they have a great, beautiful
arc they call it arc DA triumph and we're going
to have one in DC very soon. There's also going
to be a UFC fight on the south Land lawn.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
I remember that.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
That'll be fun.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
It's a whole to do. And then there's articles like
this that I saw. Will your team be selected for
the Patriot Games?

Speaker 5 (03:58):
No, I don't have any, but uh, and then what
do they do? That's are they all just going to
run the marathon? Are they going to It'll be like
a high rocks competition. You know, it'll be different stations.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
That would be fun to watch it. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
I like, I love the combine, I love the hung
but I don't watch it. You know, like I'll watch
you ran the fastest forty, but it's it's it's not
gonna watch everything entertaining to watch that kind of stuff.

Speaker 5 (04:30):
President Trump is expected in the Oval Office. I believe
it is to make an announcement today about lowering drug prices.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
Again.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
People have been standing in the room for forty five
minutes now, but the podium has been empty. They're supposed
to start at ten o'clock, but Trump has already struck
deals with a bunch of different drug companies Pfizer and
Novo Nordisk, Eli, Lilly, Astrazenka, et cetera. He also launched
the online portal where you can search for more affordable
medication than Trump are at.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
The White House.

Speaker 5 (05:01):
Press Secretary wrote in a post today that the President
would be announcing more her words, incredible deals that will
lower prices of drugs and pharmaceuticals and encourage supporters to
tune in again. It was supposed to start at ten o'clock.
As of right now, it has not yet begun. Deputy
Attorney General Todd Blanche says that the Department of Justice

(05:22):
is not going to release the full Epstein files today,
as is required by law. He said that they would
release several hundred thousand documents today, but that over the
next several weeks there would be several hundred thousand more.
He attributed the delay to the need to redact names
or any other identifying information about witnesses. But the problem

(05:46):
is this runs a foul of the law. He does say,
we're doing. We're looking at every single piece of paper
that we're going to produce, making sure that every victim,
their name, their identity, their story to the extend it
needs to be protected is protected. According to the law
that signed by the president, they have to turn over
the files by today, and the bill does allow for

(06:09):
some reactions, but it does not provide a rolling deadline.
It says December nineteenth, DOJ has fifteen days to turn
over its rationale for any of the documents that they
don't turn over. Democrats are obviously up in arms about this,
Chuck Schumer saying failing to do so, failing to turn

(06:30):
over all of the documents is breaking the law and
it just shows that a DOJ, Donald Trump, and Pam
Bondy are hell bent on hiding the truth, is what
they say.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
In the spirit of the Patriot Games, I would like
to offer you today's Jeopardy question at this time. People
who go for twelve hundred dollars Shannon, Oh, is that
like you go girl?

Speaker 4 (06:54):
No, it's like you go to the bathroom over for
like five minutes around here.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
I drink a lot of water. I like to stay hydrated.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
He told me that, I'm I need to stay hydrated.

Speaker 9 (07:05):
I did it.

Speaker 4 (07:06):
Yeah, like two weeks ago.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
Your thing You're like, are you just dehydrated because you
get moody?

Speaker 5 (07:13):
Not you, I mean like you women women get I
mean not not you never mind.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
At the US Olympic Trials in nineteen eighty eight, she
set a record world record in one hundred meters ten
point four nine seconds.

Speaker 5 (07:31):
Shoe boy, I'm gonna say female track star Jackie Joyner Cursey,
that's what I thought.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
It's it's not it's not. But it was her teammate
at UCLA and they're related by marriage.

Speaker 5 (07:44):
Uh, I'm gonna forget Florence Griffin.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
I met Jackie joined a cursy one.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
You did the nicest Oh, I bet, I bet slow
joke and this was flow Joe.

Speaker 4 (07:59):
Well that's pretty nice.

Speaker 5 (08:00):
All right, small business shout out to come. We have
Gas a Fantasy four play still around the corner. What
you learned this week on the Gary and Shannon Show
last night, when I learned the talk back feature coming back, Well,
I forgot to do a bunch of stuff when you
were gone one Friday.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
Like I didn't do Gas Fantasy four play. I didn't
do what you learned.

Speaker 5 (08:17):
People were mad about the whole Gas Fantasy warplay thing.
They were mad, you deceived us. I think this was
one guy who said be deceived.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
Whoa sir, Maybe go to home depot and get a project.

Speaker 4 (08:29):
Huh, Sorry, but that was you. That was you, that
was upset. No, I'm just sorry.

Speaker 5 (08:35):
It was.

Speaker 4 (08:36):
It's our fault. How about we share it?

Speaker 9 (08:38):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (08:38):
Cool?

Speaker 9 (08:39):
Thank you?

Speaker 4 (08:39):
I love that for us. Gary Shannon will continue.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
We dressed exactly alike today, Elmer and I wasn't completely
same outfit.

Speaker 4 (08:49):
Yeah, we'll be connected to Gary just you wait. I
doubt it, but I appreciate your concern.

Speaker 9 (08:57):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
Whoever picked these these games for gas Fantasy for Play
picked two games that mean nothing, But that's okay.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
It will still be fun for us, still going.

Speaker 4 (09:13):
To try to figure out who's going to win. They
still play the game even if it doesn't.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Yeah, maybe maybe work into draft picks.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
You're talking about, like the Chiefs and the Titans.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
Chiefs and Titans and Vikings and Giants. I don't think
either one of those mean mean anything, but they're they're
fun for us. They mean something in our hearts, don't they?

Speaker 4 (09:29):
Are you trying to make elm Or feel better?

Speaker 2 (09:32):
I don't think he feels bad.

Speaker 4 (09:34):
I'm dying.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
You're not dying. Nobody's dying. Everything's fine.

Speaker 4 (09:39):
The water.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
We have our small business shout out today and no
are you?

Speaker 2 (09:47):
Maybe you should go give him a hug.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
Gary Horror Vibes Coffee.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
We love Horror Vibes Coffee. What a cool idea.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
I mean, any business that can can can mold itself
with the strange and the spooky and the macabre. I
am here for I think a lot of people are
here for it. And this began in January of twenty
twenty two. Horror Vibes Coffee. Omyra is with us and
she ran with it. People are most successful in life
when they deal in things that they get excited about,

(10:18):
and Omayra is excited about all things horror and so
what did she do? She put that excitement and passion
into her business and that is where we find.

Speaker 5 (10:26):
Us today, right, yes, correct, even during the other holidays, right,
I mean you guys are still the.

Speaker 4 (10:33):
Horror Vibe themes sticks around year round?

Speaker 6 (10:37):
Oh absolutely, yeah, it's definitely. We are here year round,
not just Halloween time. So yeah, it's really exciting.

Speaker 5 (10:45):
And when we talked last you were working on the
plan to open in Vegas and now you have.

Speaker 7 (10:50):
Yeah, we opened this year.

Speaker 5 (10:53):
What's that process, like I mean, just the background of
trying to open in another state, another place like that.

Speaker 7 (10:59):
Yeah, it's it was definitely a process.

Speaker 6 (11:02):
It took us a couple months to open, and then
that helped create build the hype, create the hypes, and
once we opened, our customers just ran over to us
and it's been really exciting. It's exciting to see that
location grow. I'm from Vegas, so that location is really
special to me.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
So you are on Langasham in North Hollywood. What can
people expect when they walk into Horror Vibes Coffee?

Speaker 6 (11:28):
They will expect amazing art. We have a resident artist,
his name is Phil. Really good spooky coffee. Our coffee
is amazing and we have a seasonal menu that changes
every season. So currently we have our holiday menu and
we our location is very immersive, so when you walk in,

(11:52):
you immediately feel the ambiance and that's something that I'm
really proud of that we created. And our brand is
really strong, So you definitely come in for an experience
and you will get that experience.

Speaker 5 (12:03):
Talk about the menu itself in terms of how you
come up with names, recipes, that sort of thing for
the drinks.

Speaker 6 (12:09):
Yeah, so we have we've expanded our team. So I
have my socials manager, my mixologist, myself and my graphic
designer and we all get together. We decide what the
the diasonal menu theme will be and we get started.
We decide what flavor profiles, what films should inspire the menu,

(12:31):
and we get to work and it's really it's really exciting.
It's a really fun process. This season, it's our winter season,
so we have the Naughty List and it's based off
of classic Christmas films and their villains.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
You don't even need to walk into Horror Vibes coffee
to get the vibe.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
The entire exterior of your.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
Coffee shop is painted as you know, highlighting the art
you were referring to. It is a very cool, very
very cool feeling that you get there. And then also
I'm looking at I don't know what you call it,
but whatever you do to the top of the coffee,
like sometimes it's a hard art, you know, they are, Yeah,
and this.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
Is a spider web, you know.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
And there's just different horror type things incorporated in all
of the recipes as well. Yes, what are some of
the names of the coffees, Like is our fun names?

Speaker 9 (13:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (13:23):
So from our signature menu, we have the Scissorhands, Latte
candy Man.

Speaker 7 (13:28):
The Work of Art this this season.

Speaker 6 (13:32):
For our winter menu, we have the Cookie Bandits, the
Oogie's Bug Brew and the Mean One Watch it.

Speaker 5 (13:39):
Do you ever get in any trademark issues? Anybody ever
come in until you to stop using their character.

Speaker 7 (13:45):
No, I work my way around that, so we're good.

Speaker 6 (13:48):
Yeah, unless it's a partnership, then we can use the official.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
They probably love it too, and who wouldn't love Amira.
There's a lot of chucky I can see in some
of these pictures. Yes, terrifying, he still terrifies today.

Speaker 5 (14:02):
But croissants, foods, pastries, what kind of where do you
get those from?

Speaker 6 (14:06):
Yeah, we have a local bakery that we get our
everyday pastries from, like croissants and muffins, some savory pastries.
And then we also work with another small business called
Deadly Sweet and they have horror theme treats, so they'll
have cakes, they have crunch bars like fun like they're
like KitKat type treats, and then they also have cookies

(14:30):
that are also horror themes.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
Fun and what a good idea, like that's a fun
thing to bring over to like a Christmas party or
something right, like something that's different out of the box,
like a bunch of pastries or fun treats and stuff
to bring to Christmas.

Speaker 5 (14:44):
Tell me again your history. Are you movie buff?

Speaker 4 (14:48):
Clearly?

Speaker 5 (14:48):
I mean you got to have enough knowledge to get
these to get some of the jokes that you're laying
into these coffees. But did you study film or did
you study restaurant tour? What's your background?

Speaker 6 (14:59):
No, I did it, and I'm really into film. I
did acting for a very short period of time. I
went to school for political science, so I just learned
along the way really and then in the beginning I
had a mentor that helped me get started. But ever
since from there, I figured the best experience is just

(15:20):
going in there and doing it yourself. And I learned
a lot and it was it was difficult obviously that
I you know, there's a lot of growing pains, but
that was the best way to learn for me.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
How long did that political science major last?

Speaker 4 (15:33):
I did too.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
I went in as a policie major. It lasted probably
about two weeks.

Speaker 6 (15:39):
Yeah, it's it's collecting dust in my drawer my diploma.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
Okay, so you what you did the whole program. You
you graduated with that?

Speaker 9 (15:47):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (15:48):
Yeah, that's so that's cool. I love it when people
pivot like that.

Speaker 5 (15:51):
Yeah, restaurant your diploma, that would be that would be good.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
That some blood for the horror movie or something like that.

Speaker 5 (16:01):
Yeah, that would be Omyra from Horror Vibes Coffee again.

Speaker 4 (16:05):
You can find him on Instagram at.

Speaker 5 (16:06):
Horror Vibes Coffee, the place in North Hollywood there on
Lancasham and of course the new place right there on
Paradise Road in Vegas.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
I'm sensing a collab with John Cobelt like heads on
a stick politician.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
That's perfect good right, Yeah, that would be great.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Maybe something for the new year.

Speaker 5 (16:23):
Well, thanks for coming in, Omyra, appreciate it. It's good
to see you again.

Speaker 6 (16:26):
Thank you for having me.

Speaker 5 (16:27):
You bet when we come back, we're gonna be talking entertainment.
A couple of special guests that are going to be
coming in. Don't forget Gas Fantasy four place coming up.
What you learned this week on the Gary and Channon Show,
and of course the nine news nuggets. You needs we
only have an hour and a half. I don't know
you overbuked you. We scheduled better get ready. That was

(16:48):
That was really four things. Four things came to my mind,
and not one of them would have been appropriate.

Speaker 4 (16:53):
I just saw the store and it looks amazing. It
looks so cool. You would love it.

Speaker 7 (16:59):
I know I love it already and I've.

Speaker 5 (17:02):
Been You can't go until one o'clock. Elmer, that's true. Okay.

Speaker 9 (17:06):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 4 (17:13):
A bunch of stuff going on.

Speaker 5 (17:14):
President Trump holding right now a news conference there at
the White House, an event to announce lowering of drug
prices some more. When he could wraps that up, we'll
have some more details about it. Today is the day
the Justice Department faces a deadline to release files on
Jeffrey Epstein. We'll see if that actually happens at some
point later tonight. The President said it's a rocky mount

(17:36):
North Carolina. Is going to talk up the economy again
a second time this month that he's been doing basically
what amounts to a campaign event for the midterms, trying
to tout the record on the economy.

Speaker 4 (17:46):
Before we get to that, well.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
We told you about how you know you've made it
in Hollywood, and some may think it's an oscar. It's
not it's getting the Tom Cruise cake around the holidays.
And we mentioned that our actress, our working actress here
who also moonlights as a KFI news reporter, Heather.

Speaker 4 (18:04):
Brooker, slums it with us.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
Everyone had gifted us the Tom Cruise holiday cake, which
was a huge freaking win. Like that cake was delicious,
and she thought of us and she give it us,
and I'm just tickled pink over it.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
And not only do we have Heather.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Here, but we have another actress here, Heather's daughter, Channing Hi.
So we are blessed with two stars in the studio today.
And it just so happens we do have a theater
production coming up in the next week. Gary writes, so
he kind of rewrites a Christmas carol for our show,
our station, and we acted out on Christmas Eve. We've

(18:43):
missed a couple of years here and there, but this
year we're doing it. And when I say we, I
do nothing. So I feel bad when I say we're
doing it, because he does it. Yeah, just like everything else,
Gary's doing it.

Speaker 8 (18:59):
I just heard some auditions earlier, so I didn't know
we were auditioning. I would have brought a headshot and resume.

Speaker 7 (19:05):
Idah, me too, I would have We would have done
it together, right.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
It kind of the spur of the moment thing because
I didn't even know we were doing the play until
I said to Gary, are you going to do it?

Speaker 4 (19:14):
And he said yes, question mark. Yeah, I did say
it like that, didn't uh huh.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
So now you got a long weekend ahead, don't you.

Speaker 5 (19:20):
Yeah. That means that all the Christmas shopping that I
have yet to do is gonna have to wait. Yeah,
until the beginning of the year. Okay, yeah, ok so
I makes sense play. Yeah, just appreciate theater we do.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
Oh, I love it.

Speaker 10 (19:34):
I loved it ever since I was eight years old
when I did my first performance in elementary school.

Speaker 4 (19:39):
What was it?

Speaker 7 (19:40):
It was Annie Junior?

Speaker 5 (19:41):
Actually, why does it need to be a junior Because
is it just because there were no adults in the
movie or in the in the production, or.

Speaker 10 (19:49):
It's because yeah, because I think a little bit of
like expenses, and also we're kids, so it.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
Doesn't get into the dark tones of Annie.

Speaker 8 (19:59):
Right, there's no like climbing up.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
Orphanage stuff gets a little crazy.

Speaker 8 (20:04):
I think it's cheaper for them to do the junior version,
they don't have to pay the rights for all the songs,
and yeah, it's like an hour long, it's like a
shorter versions.

Speaker 10 (20:11):
Also because it's like four kids, I believe the junior
is meant to like be created and be directed and
actors are supposed to be kids in the junior.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
Yeah, would you have to pay the rights if you
did a children's theater production of Annie and Sue Falls.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
Yes, yeah you would. You're supposed to. But nobody knows it.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
Just you know, if a tree falls, who's going to
make that call?

Speaker 8 (20:34):
Somebody will post it on the internet. Some mom will
post it on the internet, and then they'll find it.
You're pretty strict about the copyright.

Speaker 5 (20:41):
In the old days, you probably could get away with it,
but with social media, you're not right.

Speaker 4 (20:44):
Yeah, everybody wants to post it on.

Speaker 10 (20:47):
Because everyone Yeah, so what so you like musicals?

Speaker 9 (20:51):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (20:52):
Music? Yeah, what's your favorite?

Speaker 7 (20:54):
Heather's the musical?

Speaker 4 (20:55):
I don't I didn't know there. Yes, there's such a
hello case.

Speaker 10 (21:02):
The movie is a little bit more darker than the
musical itself, but in the musical they definitely make it
a little bit more comedic.

Speaker 8 (21:08):
Okay, Yeah, yeah, it's like a dark comedy musical as
opposed to the movie, which is just very.

Speaker 7 (21:13):
She let me watch it, my mom, let me talk.

Speaker 8 (21:15):
Okay, we don't even tell people.

Speaker 5 (21:16):
I am embarrassed to say that I hated that movie
when I didn't get it. I didn't get the comedy.
It was where I don't know why it was so
far over my head. Did not get it. And I
was in high school when it came out, So when
I did rewatch it in I guess it had to
be in college a few years later. I did not
want to watch it. I hated the idea of it.

(21:37):
A couple roommates were like, this is the greatest movie ever.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
I think once you get past Heather's head as the
croquet ball, where you're kind of like, what is this.

Speaker 8 (21:45):
You're like, oh, I'm in a different I'm in a.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
Different genre of movie, and then you just kind of
I love it the lot. I still quote it to
this day. Oh you know, corn nuts, all of it. Okay,
So what is your favorite musical that you have acted in?

Speaker 8 (22:02):
Probably thirteen the musical Maybe.

Speaker 10 (22:07):
I would say, Oh my god, my brain just forgot
our single musical have ever been.

Speaker 1 (22:11):
That was a tough question because it really is hard
to remember all of that, especially when you've done a
bunch of stuff.

Speaker 10 (22:18):
I would say I was in Madagascar at the musical
I've played King Julian.

Speaker 1 (22:23):
Okay, wow, a lot of costume, yes, that one.

Speaker 4 (22:28):
But you got to see the new avatar fire.

Speaker 7 (22:31):
And Ash, Yes, I did.

Speaker 4 (22:33):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (22:33):
So you come from a generation. Do you even were
you alive when the first avatar came out?

Speaker 10 (22:39):
I think so, yes you were. Yeah, she was little,
but long ago. I scarcely remember it.

Speaker 4 (22:47):
I never saw it. You never saw the first one.
I saw the first one.

Speaker 5 (22:50):
I could could not care less about any of the others.
It was groundbreaking, the technology that was involved, it was amazing,
It was visually stunning. Oh yes, done for me. I
don't care about these others because I don't know how
you can expand upon it. Yeah, I mean, and that's
from the guy who saw that. Only the first one.
And I'll say that, but is the second one far

(23:10):
enough different from the first to make it worth watching?

Speaker 4 (23:13):
And now the third one?

Speaker 7 (23:14):
It's in the second one they like expanded it.

Speaker 10 (23:17):
So they're like, oh my god, there is different regions
of the people on this planet. So I guess in
the second one, they expanded more onto like the water people.

Speaker 4 (23:28):
That makes sense. That makes sense.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
It's kind of like space wars, right, so different planets
and space wars will will have different.

Speaker 5 (23:35):
Now is when you turn your headphones down, you don't
have to listen to this part.

Speaker 2 (23:39):
I have this idea channing about a movie.

Speaker 1 (23:43):
What would you say, vertical short, no franchise, franchise chise. Yes,
it's like Fast and the Furious but different, but a
war in space. And there's different planets and each planet
has like its own thing, like the forest.

Speaker 4 (23:54):
Planet or the water planet, groundbreaking, and so.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
Like the first one would be kind of like an
overview and then like the subsequent films would be based
on like the forest planet or whatever.

Speaker 7 (24:05):
Oh that's cool.

Speaker 4 (24:06):
Yeah, I know what you mean, but you don't have
to say that.

Speaker 8 (24:11):
Yes, I'm very excited. I hope that there's a part
from you, and I'm I'm got my fingers crossed.

Speaker 7 (24:16):
He's a big like space nerd.

Speaker 8 (24:18):
Yeah, I'm a big thank you for that, but I
am a big space nerd. But to your point, avatar, yeah.

Speaker 4 (24:24):
You are going to get it talking to as soon
as the you just wait a minute.

Speaker 10 (24:27):
My song's going to be gone in an instant.

Speaker 8 (24:32):
My colleagues, no, no, I will say with avatar, it
was this third one very very much like the second one.
We all kind of walked out of there with my
my me chanting and my husband were like, that felt
like a longer version of the second film.

Speaker 10 (24:51):
They I think they promoted it as fire and ash,
but there was really a little bit of fire and.

Speaker 8 (24:58):
No ash, a lot of water. Still. It was almost
almost beat for beat, the same story as the second.

Speaker 10 (25:06):
One, because in the second one they were like extracting
I don't know, liquid from like the whale things, And
in the third movie, I thought they would have learned
their lesson, but they were doing the same thing again,
the exact same thing.

Speaker 5 (25:18):
Yeah, technologically, visually is it different than the other? I mean,
do you do you think yourself? Wow, they've come a
long way since the second one.

Speaker 10 (25:26):
Oh for sure since the second one, because they definitely
it felt like they just added another villain to it slightly.

Speaker 8 (25:32):
Yeah, Visually, it's stunning, still beautiful. We saw it in
three D. Don't think you need to see it in
three D, you know, I mean, if you're really into that.

Speaker 7 (25:40):
It's a little over stimulating. Yeah, it was a little over, Soti.
We got it in like the front row and they're not.

Speaker 2 (25:44):
We were like in the third paple, were you high
or no?

Speaker 8 (25:47):
Next time? Right, I'm trying to cut back for her.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
I understand that.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
So these films, so I'm assuming they make a boat
ton of money. Oh yeah, which why why change the
winning formula?

Speaker 8 (25:58):
Why change the formula? Here's the thing that the only
thing I kept thinking was it's three and a half
hours long, you guys, and plus you add half an
hour pretas you're in the theater for four hours. I
had to get up and go. She had to go
the people. There were some people in the audience, so
you know, on opening night who love it. There was
a lady behind us who would not stop talking. She's
sharing it on She was.

Speaker 10 (26:18):
Like, when the character Spider, I'm not gonna spoil it,
but he did something and she was like, whoa, it
was really she was really into it.

Speaker 8 (26:24):
She was into it.

Speaker 1 (26:25):
How do we feel about people who talk in theaters
during movie? Me?

Speaker 6 (26:28):
Too.

Speaker 4 (26:28):
Depends on the movie.

Speaker 10 (26:29):
But that's a bit hypocritical because every if I'm watching
movie where I'm really into it, I'll turn to the
person next to me.

Speaker 7 (26:34):
If I know them. I'm like, hey, something's gonna happen
right now.

Speaker 4 (26:37):
Now I'll do They're gonna do this.

Speaker 7 (26:38):
Watch this.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
Yeah, but you don't say it out loud for everybody.

Speaker 4 (26:42):
That's the difference.

Speaker 8 (26:42):
Yeah, but it's good. It's Visually, it's stunning. He hasn't
done anything. It doesn't seem like it's done anything particularly
groundbreaking from the second film. It feels like a longer
version of the second film. And it's there's so many
layers on layers of storylines where it's a little hard
to keep up. At times we're like, wait, now, why
are we doing this? And why aren't they doing this?

(27:03):
And wait I thought he couldn't breathe with a mask,
but now he can. And so it's just a it's
just a lot. It's a lot that there's still two
more movies to come.

Speaker 4 (27:10):
No, yeah, even James Cameron's tired of this.

Speaker 8 (27:14):
He's got to be It felt like the dials on
the dialogue, it felt like he.

Speaker 4 (27:17):
Was tired of be. AI takes over.

Speaker 1 (27:19):
I have a question that I always want to ask
real life actresses or actors. I guess I should say
I don't know what the thing is, and.

Speaker 4 (27:28):
I want to ask you when we come back.

Speaker 1 (27:29):
It's just the question of like, is there a show
on or a movie franchise on that You're like, I
need to be a part of that. I really want,
Like this is the perfect role for me, this is
what I want to do. I'd be perfect in this,
Like do you have that thought? And Gary, you'll be
included as well. You're also channing. Garry is also an actor.

Speaker 5 (27:49):
Do you mean current show or can it be something
in the past? Also, it can be Yeah, it can
be in the past.

Speaker 8 (27:54):
I want to hear that.

Speaker 5 (27:55):
And you also saw did you see Housemaid? There's a
lot nudity in that.

Speaker 4 (28:01):
Oh yes, really, I.

Speaker 7 (28:03):
Don't think I should be hearing any of the will
on that movie.

Speaker 4 (28:05):
This thing on I feel like I've read that.

Speaker 8 (28:07):
We're going to talk about both of those for sure. Yeah, yeah,
I think you'll you will like the little New one
for sure.

Speaker 9 (28:14):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from kf
I AM six forty.

Speaker 5 (28:21):
Reminder, it is Friday, so we'll be doing what you
learned this week on the Gary and Shannon Show. Just
leave us a talkback message on the iHeart app your
question again for for.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
Oh yes, I always wonder this for people working in Hollywood,
and we have to. And Gary is in theater as well.
And I don't think you've done Have you done TV
or movies?

Speaker 4 (28:43):
Gary? No? Okay, the yet you haven't done them yet.

Speaker 8 (28:47):
I heard you, Morgan, and I was like, oh, yeah,
I do.

Speaker 5 (28:52):
That will be probably first of the year. We'll be
doing a couple episodes of LeeAnne. And then I was
cut out of a made for TV movie on the
siege at Ruby Ridge.

Speaker 4 (29:05):
Ah, there you go.

Speaker 8 (29:06):
Is that a real thing?

Speaker 1 (29:07):
Is that?

Speaker 4 (29:07):
Nobody knows that? Yes? Or TV movie?

Speaker 2 (29:09):
I don't know. You just said it like it was
like a famous one.

Speaker 5 (29:12):
Nobody Channing, it would be like twenty years before you
were born. But there was yeah, okay, white supremacist guy
caught in them.

Speaker 4 (29:18):
Oh that's right. What's Central cast Boby Ridge.

Speaker 5 (29:22):
His name was Weaver, Randy Weaver. Okay, no, something like that. Okay, anyway,
FBI goes again. I was one of the FBI swat guys.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
All right, did you get to wear a vest?

Speaker 9 (29:32):
No?

Speaker 4 (29:32):
I were full camo though. That's cool. Yeah, that's cool.
It's very hot that day. Okay.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
But Heather and Channing are actual actors in Hollywood is there.
My question is this is there like a show you're
watching or you have watched.

Speaker 4 (29:45):
We're like, that is my role? Like I could, I
would kill.

Speaker 1 (29:49):
That role or one that you want, or a franchise
or anything like that.

Speaker 8 (29:54):
Do you want to go first to him?

Speaker 7 (29:55):
You go first, you can go first.

Speaker 8 (29:56):
Okay. So if it's a show that is not on anymore,
I would have loved to have been on Star Trek
Next Generation because I'm a nerd, as Jenny said, a
space nerd. Because also, think of all the cons I
could go to to and sign autographs.

Speaker 2 (30:10):
I so many cons, so many cons.

Speaker 8 (30:14):
I also really would have loved to have been on Well,
if it's a show that's on right now, I love
The Boys, It's kind of a dark like sci fi
show on Amazon Prime. I love White Lotus. I would
love to be on that show.

Speaker 4 (30:26):
Just for vacation.

Speaker 8 (30:27):
Yeah, just for the vacation right four months and somewhere tropical. Honestly,
every every show that I watched that is really smart,
I'm like, I wish I was on this show.

Speaker 4 (30:37):
But there's not like a character.

Speaker 8 (30:40):
Well, I really wish that I have gotten to play
Molly on Mike and Molly because I auditioned for that,
and it was.

Speaker 4 (30:48):
How did you get? I mean I got to probably
ended up nowhere, right, Oh yeah, I know Melissa something.

Speaker 8 (30:56):
She ended up nowhere probably Yeah. That and the and
the Rolling Bridesmaids. The both of those roles are roles
I was up for, wow, but did not get So do.

Speaker 4 (31:06):
You know how far you got in the problem?

Speaker 5 (31:07):
I do.

Speaker 8 (31:07):
I was in the room with Chuck Lori and his
producing team. I was at the callback. So apparently the
way I understand it from my agent said that they
knew they were going to give it to Melissa McCarthy
because he had written the role for Melissa McCarthy, but
she was nine months pregnant and she wasn't sure she's
going to take it. And I was like, of course
she's going to take it. That's crazy. She's going to
pop that kid out and get on TV show.

Speaker 4 (31:27):
That's what I would do. No offense, but.

Speaker 7 (31:32):
I would do the same.

Speaker 8 (31:33):
I know you, that's my girl. But that's when you're
in the room and they're like you're so funny, you're great,
thank you so much, and then you see it kind
of happen and somebody else does it, and when You're
on the way to audition for Bridesmaids and it was
called untitled Kristen Wig Project, and you get the call
that like, hey, she's going to cast one of her friends.
They don't need you, And I was like, no, that

(31:53):
happened to me multiple times. There was a show also,
a show called Samantha Who that I had auditioned for
that she got. So there's been many sliding door, sliding
windows moments like that, So those for sure, But.

Speaker 4 (32:05):
Maybe you should meet her, maybe you should introduce herself
to her.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
I think that, though I might be bitter, I would.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
Totally keep that hope like of being in the room
with Chuck Laurie and then being like you're so funny
and you're so good, like maybe they'll think of me.

Speaker 4 (32:18):
In the future.

Speaker 8 (32:18):
Maybe they will. Yes, that's sort of what has kept
me going. But what about you money, What do you think?

Speaker 10 (32:23):
I would say any sort of like mockumentary TV show
like examples The Office, Saint Dennis, Medical Abbot, Elementary, Like
I I watched those shows so much and they do
make me laugh a lot. So I feel like any
role on those good roles.

Speaker 4 (32:40):
Such a great genre.

Speaker 2 (32:41):
I am really into stumble right now.

Speaker 8 (32:44):
Yes, yes, the Cheerleading West as a recovering cheerleader myself.
I love that show. And I was like, the accuracy
of being in the South and being in cheer is
pretty spot on.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (32:55):
I love all the j C juniors.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
Oh yeah, all that stuff too, Sammy Davis Junior Junior
College all about it's so good, so good. Yeah, you're
right hearing that would just be like fun. I would
imagine that would just be fun all the time.

Speaker 10 (33:08):
And I would like have fun with my fellow castmates.
We'd go out for parties. If I was oldered, we'd
go to the bar like.

Speaker 4 (33:13):
Whoa, whoa.

Speaker 7 (33:15):
I was like twenty one, Okay, I.

Speaker 8 (33:17):
Know, I'm like, what am I hearing?

Speaker 2 (33:22):
Oh my gosh, Well, thank you, ladies, this has been fun.

Speaker 8 (33:24):
Thank you. Are we done?

Speaker 7 (33:26):
Wait?

Speaker 8 (33:26):
Are we gonna talk? We're out of time. We're gona
talk about house Mad. House maid is really good and
creepying has a nice twist. Go see, I think I
heard the audience. Yeah, there's a lot of nudity in
the Housemaids.

Speaker 7 (33:36):
So if you're a kid, don't watch it.

Speaker 8 (33:38):
Sidney Sweeney, so the so what's the premise?

Speaker 1 (33:41):
The woman and a man live in a house. They
hire a housemaid to take care of the house. Yes,
and then they all end up having sex with a husband.

Speaker 8 (33:48):
Not at the same time. Okay, but I think that
does different kind of Yes, it's definitely fun. It's definitely
has a nice little twist to it. The audience was
really into it, cheering it along, having a good time,
as long as you know going into it what it's about.
So it's Sydney Sweeney and who else Amanda Sifreez.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
Ok, it look very similar, they.

Speaker 8 (34:07):
Do, but that's kind of part of the a little
bit of a nod to the story a little.

Speaker 4 (34:11):
I see.

Speaker 2 (34:12):
I see.

Speaker 8 (34:12):
It's a great dark comedy. I think people really enjoy it.
But please be advised. There is a lot of.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
Nudity, full full nudity, even men's.

Speaker 8 (34:20):
Parts, but just butts. Oh okay, a lot of violence too.
It's very violent.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
Oh yeah, that's great.

Speaker 8 (34:26):
So you can't go to this one.

Speaker 7 (34:28):
Gosh, darn it, I don't get to see naked butts.

Speaker 8 (34:31):
No, no, you don't.

Speaker 7 (34:33):
Oh disappointed.

Speaker 4 (34:34):
You have the internet.
