Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Gary and Shannon and you're listening to KFI
AM six forty, the Gary and Shannon Show on demand
on the iHeartRadio app. Well, let's just get right to
what we're learning out of Minneapolis as details continue to
roll in with the tragedy this morning.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Time four.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
What's happening?
Speaker 1 (00:22):
Wow, Well, as we've been reporting all day long, it
was the first school mass at Annunciation School there, a
church and Catholic school South Minneapolis, the first school year
mass at eight point fifteen, and twelve minutes after the
mass began, the first reports of gunfire. People in the
(00:44):
neighborhood said they heard thirty five fifty one hundred rounds
of semi automatic firing into this church or in the vicinity.
And we now know this shooter was apparently, by all reports,
a transperson twenty three years old, Robert wanted to change
his name to Robin, which he did six years ago
(01:05):
with the ok from his mom, who worked at this school,
retired in twenty twenty one, by all accounts, And we
have a dead eight year old and a dead ten
year old among the wounded at this school where the shooter,
by the way, took their own life in the rear
of the church after.
Speaker 4 (01:25):
They did say the Feds have said that they did
a quick trace of all of the three guns that
were used, but I haven't seen anything specifically about the
providence of the guns.
Speaker 5 (01:37):
If they were family members, if they were Robin's, whoever
they were. Robin died at the scene, self inflicted gunshot wound,
like you said, not previously known to law enforcement. And
as of about the expectation is at the bottom of
the hour, there's going to be an update on the
shooting out of Minnesota. We know that Governor Tim Walls
(01:58):
is also expected to to speak. He was not a
part of the original news conference that happened just before
or just as the show our show started because of timing,
he hadn't been down there yet, so assuming that he's
on the scene now. Locally, Sam Bernardino and Riverside County
officials discussed the death of baby Emmanuel Harrow, a day
(02:19):
after his parents were charged with murder, and Mike Hestron,
the dia Riverside County, said that he believed that Emmanuel
had been abused over time and eventually succumbed to his injuries,
but in terms of a specific date of death, they
didn't have it and also not a specific location of
Emmanuel's remains. They said that they have an idea of
(02:40):
where the baby is, but at this point they do
not have the remains in custody.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
I just want to circle back for a minute to Minneapolis,
because we told you about a set of grandparents who
were headed to the hospital where their grandson was taken.
He was one of the kids hit by gunfire.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
That's all. They knew that he was shot in this,
so they raced there. He is alive.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Andre is his name, and he is talking to his
grandparents about what he saw.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
He was in the mass.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
He told his grandma he looked out the church window
and he saw the shooter coming, and grandma says, then
he heard boom, boom boom. A girl next to him
got hit in the head. He saw flesh fly. He
was shot in the stomach. He's groggy but resting. They
opened him up, operated to remove the bullet fragments. So
(03:33):
that that little boy, just because we had mentioned him,
he did survive.
Speaker 5 (03:38):
A federal judge his temporary block the administration from reporting
kilmar Abrego Garcia at least until early October. This district
judge says she's extending your temporary restraining order that blocks
his removal until the latest deportation challenge in court can
be resolved. And as of right now, the evidence you
hearing evidentiary hearing has been set for October sixth. This
(04:02):
case challenges his deportation to Uganda. If you remember, this
guy was offered a plea deal and in which he
would be deported to Costa Rica, I believe, but he
turned that down. He didn't that's not where he wanted
to go, and the Trump administration said, fine, we'll send
you to Uganda.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
Spotify is introducing a DM feature, so now messages will
allow users to share Spotify content, start a mass a
message in the app, and Spotify with people they've interacted
with before through the music platform.
Speaker 5 (04:38):
Speaking of music, Yeah, I have now see Keanna came
in yesterday and explained that the iHeartRadio app quickly published
a Taylor Swift and Travis Kelcey engagement playlist that you
could listen to.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Yeah, and you're after you've seen this all over were
the place now people you're eating their own playlist.
Speaker 5 (05:04):
And there was an article this morning about someone's dream
wedding guest list for a Travis Kelsey and Taylor Swift wedding.
That someone sorry, that someone put.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
Brain energy, glucose fired energy.
Speaker 5 (05:27):
Into coming up with who they think should be invited
to those other people's wedding.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
You know, I am a little bit worried because I
think this is replacing your Megan Markele obsession, because you would.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
Bring randomly fall in love with it.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
You would bring random Megan Markele news to this show
that was so esoteric and something that did not rise
to the headlines, and you came up with it. It
happened at least four or five times in the past year.
And now you to the show with this esoteric Taylor
Swift Travis engagement news about wish vision board wedding lists.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
Right. I don't know what tomorrow will bring, but I just.
Speaker 5 (06:16):
As a fifty two year old man, I know more
about it than I need to.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
Well, according to the level of excitement yesterday coming from Remember,
you're the one who alerted all of us.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
I alerted you. That's it.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
You said you're the one there, and you pointed to
Fox eleven. You stood up, your chair, hit the back wall,
and you said they're engaged.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
Okay, I didn't do any of that.
Speaker 5 (06:40):
All I said, I didn't even I barely said it audibly.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
I even think you heard me an electric an electric announcement.
Speaker 5 (06:47):
There is Engaged our trending stories brought to you by
Trajan Wealth. The future of retirement planning and wealth management
is here. La Trajan Wealth Call Today three one ZHO
two nine nine ninety nine sixty correct.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
What is it? Crackle barrel? Crackle barrel. You know what,
if you're just gonna be hurtful, they should just change
their name to crackle.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
We're gonna have some bad blood. Gary and Shanner, you
need to calm down.
Speaker 5 (07:16):
Oh, I see what you're doing, and I'm ashamed that
I know what you're doing.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 5 (07:27):
It is what you're watching Wednesday, So let us know
what you have been catching up on on TV. Of course,
a lot of TV time is going to be spent
watching football coming up in the next couple of months.
But before you get to that, let us know what
it is that you've been spending your time on.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
Over these last couple of weeks.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
I keep hearing more and more hunting wives the ripples
are getting larger in the pond. More people are watching
the Hunting Wives. Justin was in here, his wife's watching.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
So are they going to do when that happens.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
There's definitely a season two. It's like K Pop Demon Hunters.
I was just very similar. Well maybe not very similar.
Speaker 5 (08:06):
But there's a command. There's gonna be knockoffs of that show, right,
you're gonna have like.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
No, it's just gonna be the original. What do you
mean knockoffs? You think like spinoffs.
Speaker 5 (08:19):
It's not like no, I mean people trying to imitate
the success of that show by giving people a little titillation.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
If you know what I'm saying, please never do that again.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
Look the verbiage, the voice, the hands. That was the
trifecta of of hell creepy for me. You didn't see
what his hand was doing.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
Well, thank goodness for the wall.
Speaker 5 (08:46):
Yes, yeah, thank goodness for solid walls. Protect yourself.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
Crackle Barrow says it.
Speaker 5 (08:51):
It's listens to its customers, it's gonna scrap its logo,
and it's gonna keep that old guy in place.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
Cracklebarrow. I can't believe I said that.
Speaker 5 (09:00):
They said in a statement quote, we think your We
thank our guests for sharing your voices in love for
Cracker Barrel. We said we would listen, and we have.
Our new logo is going away and our old timer
will remain.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
That's smart. You got a cave. You got a cave
to what the people want. What do the people who
pay the bills want? They want the old man, they
want the barrel, they want the termite eaten interior of
the restaurants that haven't changed in forty years. That's what
people want. And when you mess with that, you're a dumbass.
Speaker 5 (09:33):
There were people who were saying yesterday that the Cracker
Barrel logo had changed multiple times since the restaurants were opened,
which is fine, and you can do that. That's if
you're in the nineteen seventies and you change a logo,
You're not dealing with a volcano of social media. It's
(09:56):
just it's a different it's a different time.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
But Uncle Herschel's been on that logo since nineteen seventy seven.
Speaker 5 (10:02):
Right, And even when someone put Uncle Herschel on there,
it's not like there was going to be a Twitter
storm of people who called out Crackle Barrow for doing that. However,
you're not dealing with nineteen seventy seven technology, you're dealing
with twenty twenty five.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
Do you want to know who Uncle Herschel was. He
was a.
Speaker 5 (10:29):
He was a cousin of somebody I don't remember, No,
you don't.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
Herschel McCartney was his name, and he was the uncle
of the founder of Cracker Barrel. The founder's name was
Dan Evans and Herschel. Uncle Herschel was Cracker Barrel's goodwill ambassador.
He would stroll through the towns. He would invite people
to join him at the Cracker Barrel. He lived by
the golden rule, treat everybody as you'd like to be
(10:57):
treated yourself. Good old Uncle Herschel.
Speaker 5 (11:02):
Now, I don't agree with the kerfuffle that this was
all a woke move on behalf of of Crackle Barrow,
but but it did make it.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
But just strictly marketing.
Speaker 5 (11:17):
Strictly marketing, you cannot turn your back on customers that
have made you successful for the last several decades. And
if if they get a whiff of belief that there
that you are turning your back on them, you're gone.
They're gonna They're gonna take you to task. And they
(11:38):
did so I don't know if somebody gets fired for this.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
Did you know that Uncle Herschel's favorite, the longtime breakfast
ditch has been put back on the menu.
Speaker 3 (11:52):
Is it fire chicken? No? What is it it is? Uh?
Speaker 5 (11:57):
Wait?
Speaker 1 (11:58):
Hold on, I'm trying to find I'm trying to find it,
and they won't let me because I don't have a
cracker barrel near me. That's silly, that's stupid. Hold on,
hold on, standby, crackled.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
I just did it again.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
Anyway, it's probably you know, eggs and pancakes and waffles
and bacon and sausage.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
You know what I mean. That's what I would think
Kershel would want. Very hungry, right? Can you hear that?
You've caused my stomach to tell you it is hungry?
Is it? It's fighting back, it's fighting back against what
your fat legs? The original low? Okay, okay, everybody down.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
He clearly doesn't have fat legs all the time.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
Is that what I do? The original too?
Speaker 1 (12:59):
Farm fresh eggs with grits plus your choice of fried
apples or hash brown casserole.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
Fried apples, Yeah, fried apples for breakfast. Hell yeah for breakfast. Disgusting?
What are you serious? Give me the grits and that
hash brown casserole thing.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
What do you mean fried apples are disgusting for breakfast?
Speaker 3 (13:20):
Everybody knows that's an after dinner treat. I would say disgusting.
Speaker 5 (13:25):
Though the original nineteen sixty nine crackled barrel logo was
a text only in nineteen seventy seven they added what
you referred to as Uncle Herschel on their logo. So good,
it's a good thing. That crackled barrow is good.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
Its normal.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
See, this is why I go after him. You guys, Yeah, okay.
Speaker 6 (13:49):
You know what I was agreeing.
Speaker 4 (13:52):
Uh huh.
Speaker 5 (13:55):
Cracker barrel, crack, crackle barrel, crackle barrel, I would saying
it weird, saying it wird.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
Watch my right, Correctly, we have to do an Elmer
reintroduction for that lady.
Speaker 3 (14:08):
That's right, we'll do that when we come back. Gary
and Shannon. We'll continue after this.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 5 (14:19):
The big stories, of course, that we have been following today.
This first one is the shooting at this Catholic church
and school in South Minneapolis. They were holding their started
year mass and in this Annunciation Catholic Church at about
eight thirty in the morning. The parents and staff members
(14:40):
were on one side of the church. The kids, the students,
were on the other side of the church. As of
right now, school officials had said that an eight and
ten year old that eight and ten year old kids
were the two fatalities. The shooter then killed himself. It
turns out that there were at least seventeen people who
were in injured, several of them still in critical condition.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
The FBI is on scene.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
They're investigating this as an active domestic terrorism, a hate
crime targeting Catholics. We know his mother worked at the school,
retired in twenty twenty one. We can assume he went
to the school, did go through a name change from
Robert to Robin in twenty nineteen when he was It
would put him at about seventeen years old. Needed mom
(15:24):
to sign off on that name change, which she did.
The shooter carrying a rifle today, a shotgun and a pistol.
We are awaiting a news conference from the scene there.
They're just getting set up and I imagine, kay, if
I will bring that to you live when it happens.
Video posted on YouTube today Peers to belong to the shooter,
(15:45):
displace four guns, ammunition, a letter to family and friends,
and clothing that the narrator apparently planned to wear tomorrow.
It shows that rifle, a shotgun, two handguns, maniacal laughter,
ad time quietly apologizing to the family and the video,
the narrator speaks about plans to injure children without remorse,
(16:07):
invokes the names of a multinational investment company, an oil company,
a beer company, as well as a Second Amendment activist
running for Congress in Texas. Words phrases and drawings scrawled
and marker all over the weapons and magazines, one reading
killed Donald Trump. The four page letter to friends and
(16:28):
family says to the parents, I'm sorry I didn't turn
out as you had hoped.
Speaker 5 (16:35):
We're going to see all kinds of stuff about this
person coming up. There were other stories that we have
also followed. One of them, business wise, is that after
the markets close here in about twenty minutes or so,
and Vidia is going to be giving out its latest
earnings report for a second quarter. There's some concern that
(16:57):
we could see we could see the tech bubble, the
second tech bubble, this one dealing with AI and then
finally It's been a rough time out there for our
friends who are going through Burning Man this week. Not
only do they have some severe windstorms that rolled through
on Saturday causing dust problems and then thunderstorms last night,
(17:20):
they also had to close down because of rain, impossible lightning,
and on the official Orgy Dome Instagram page, they shared
that the winds destroyed the orgy Dome.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
Oh no, well then what are you gonna do this weekend?
Speaker 5 (17:37):
This weekend, I gotta find alternate plans? Yeah, alternate plans?
Speaker 3 (17:41):
What he did?
Speaker 7 (17:41):
Morning?
Speaker 3 (17:42):
Carry and Channon kind of a sad day? Who is Elmer?
Speaker 7 (17:47):
Did I miss something?
Speaker 3 (17:49):
I listened to you all the time and I hear
this strange voice in the background, kind of a goofy voice,
and I'm wondering who Elmer is? She all can tell us?
That'd be great anyway, Love your show, Love you guys
by Elmer? Who are you? Oh Man? That's so funny
that strange voice in the back. She listens all the time.
Speaker 5 (18:10):
So I don't know how you fell through the cracks,
but here you are in the cracks. Elmer's officially our
technical director on the show. Is that what you would say?
Speaker 3 (18:18):
Elmer? Likes long walks on the beach. Yeah, I do.
He likes. What's your astrological sign? I'm a libra. Oh,
he's a libra. That's good. He's nice and balanced ninety two.
So you have the monkey and we're going like Chinese sodio.
I'm a monkey too, No way, yeah, that's why. That's
totally why. That's a cool not like fully loaded natchos.
Speaker 8 (18:40):
What are you?
Speaker 3 (18:41):
Are you a rooster? Gary? What? What are you a rooster?
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (18:47):
I think we have done that before. I think I
am a rooster. Are you talking about the Chinese zodiac
by a year? Right? You don't do by by month
or moon phase or whatever it is. You're an ox.
You're specifically a water ox. You're a water buffalo.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
Basically, you're big thighs as I'm also an ox.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
Oh my god, that's crazy.
Speaker 3 (19:11):
That guy. That is really odd. That does happen. It
does not happen people together, It never happens. Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
Let's see about the monkeys and the oxes and how
they get to get like, you know, how they get along. Yeah,
let's see here. Okay, here we go. The compatibility between
the Chinese zodiac Ox and Monkey is not a perfect match,
but can be successful with effort, characterized by differing approaches
to life and potential for growth. While the OX is
(19:41):
a grounded, steady partner and the Monkey is adaptable and playful,
these fundamental differences can create challenges, but also opportunities for
balance if both individuals are willing to compromise and foster
mutual understanding. The oxes reserved, methodical nature contrasts with the
monkey energetic, spontaneous personality, which can lead to misunderstandings.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
What they get us, Yes, they get us.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
The Ox value stability and routine, while the Monkey craves
excitement and change, causing friction.
Speaker 3 (20:14):
That is yeah, wow, that's oddly. Their communication styles may
not align.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
The Ox prefers directed directness, the Monkey sometimes is more
indirect or strategic, but both signs cultivate patients and empathy
to bridge their differences. We can meet in the middle.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
I love that. Wow, guys, we're good.
Speaker 5 (20:38):
You're good and hell yeah, but you got to work
at it.
Speaker 3 (20:45):
Yeah that's but that's good. That means it.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
As friends, the Monkey and the Ox enjoy a solid
bond because they're different. Because of their differences, our diversity, guys,
is our strength.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
Our strength is our diversity.
Speaker 5 (21:00):
When we come back, what you watch on Wednesday, so
let us know what you've been watching. Gary and Shannon
will continue.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 5 (21:13):
You're going to go live to Minnesota Governor Tim Walls
there speaking about the shooting at this church school earlier to.
Speaker 8 (21:19):
The best we can to understand what we can do
to prevent any parent from having to receive the calls
they receive today from any school dedicated to children having
to respond to a situation that, as we said, is unthinkable,
(21:44):
but it's all too common, not just in Minnesota, but
across this country. It's Minnesota's day to day, and it's
my strongest desire the no state, no community, no school
ever experiences a day like this us. So I asked
the rest of folks around the country who are watching,
keep us in your thoughts and prayers, but also keep
(22:07):
us in the thoughts for action, keep us in the
ideas that we can work together. And it's on these
days like this I think and I hope we can
hold on to it.
Speaker 3 (22:16):
We are unified as a community.
Speaker 8 (22:18):
Everybody across the country today is part of the Annunciation
Parish and they're with those families.
Speaker 3 (22:25):
With that.
Speaker 8 (22:26):
Minneapolis Mayor, Jacob Bry, thank.
Speaker 3 (22:29):
You, Thank you, Governor.
Speaker 7 (22:36):
Throughout the morning, we have seen this extraordinary Minneapolis family
step up in thousands of different ways, people with strength, resilience,
compassion and love. For the families that have been forever
impacted by this heinous act. We want to make sure
(22:59):
that we're doing every thing possible for them right now,
and I want to give a special thank you, and
we are so grateful to all of the faculty and
the teachers and Nunciation. The way that they acted during
severe threat and danger was nothing short of heroic. This
(23:19):
is a tragic and horrible event that would ever should
never occur, and it would have been all the more
tragic and horrible had they not stepped in at times,
perhaps put themselves in danger to protect others. As horrible
as this has been, it could have been far worse.
I'm grateful for our law enforcement partners, our police officers
(23:41):
in the Minneapolis Police Department and other law enforcement agencies
well beyond that step up that answered the call to
make sure that they were running towards danger when so
many of the rest of us would have run in
the other direction.
Speaker 3 (23:54):
Thank you.
Speaker 7 (23:55):
We are so appreciative of your service to Principal Debor
and your whole team. The ethic that you have showed,
the love that you've shown, it's flat out incredible. And
at the same time, look, we need to be doing
(24:15):
more than talking.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
It can't just be words. There needs to be action.
Speaker 7 (24:22):
And when we have seen school shooting after school shooting,
but we have seen churches get shot up by horrible actors,
I think the impetus has to be on all of
us as leaders to do a whole lot more to
recognize that we've got more guns in this country than
(24:43):
we have people. And it's on all of us to
recognize the truth and the reality that we can't just
say that this shouldn't happen again and then allow it
to happen again and again.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
Beyond that, it's on all of us.
Speaker 7 (25:01):
And I have heard about a whole lot of hate
that's being directed at our trans community. Anybody who is
using this as an using this as an opportunity to
villainize our trans community or any other community out there,
(25:21):
has lost their sense of common humanity. We should not
be operating out of a place of hate for anyone.
We should be operating from a place of love for
our kids.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
Kids died today. This needs to be about them.
Speaker 7 (25:41):
This needs to be wrapping our arms around these families
with every bit of love that we can possibly show.
And I know that our Minneapolis family and well beyond
is prepared to do exactly that. And so my message
to everyone out there is again, these families are experiencing
(26:02):
some acute pain right now. But don't just think of
these as somebody else's kids. Think of your own. Let's
make sure that we're acting now to not just say
it's never happening again, but.
Speaker 3 (26:16):
In shore it doesn't.
Speaker 7 (26:19):
Our Chief of Police, who's been working tirelessly throughout the day,
along with again a number of different law enforcement agencies, investigators,
federal partners, state partners, thank you Senator Clovishar for being here,
been working tirelessly, and I'd like to invite him up
to give some more of the details that have come up.
Speaker 3 (26:38):
Chief.
Speaker 9 (26:40):
Yeah, my name is Brian O'Hara b R I A
N O apostrophe h A r A. I am the
Minneapolis Police Chief. Good afternoon, and thank you all for
your patients. As we continue to gather the facts in
this investigation into this truly unthinkable tragedy that happened here
(27:02):
earlier today, I want to make sure that we are
providing the most accurate information possible, particularly as we speak
around our victims. At this point, we know we have
a total of nineteen victims from this tragedy. Two were
young children ages eight and ten that were sitting in
(27:22):
the pews at mass when they were shot and killed.
They were pronounced deceased on the scene. There were another
fourteen children between the ages of six and fifteen that
were injured by gunfire. There were also three adults in
their eighties that were parishioners here attending mass that were
(27:43):
also shot in this incident. The families of all of
the children that have been affected have been notified. The
coward that shot these victims took his own life in
the rear of the church. That coward has been identified
as twenty three year old Robin Westman. No prior criminal history.
(28:06):
As to the weapons used to perpetrate this horrific attack,
there was a rifle, a shotgun, and a pistol. All
three had been lawfully purchased by the shooter. At this stage,
we believe that the shooter had acted alone. There is
no indication of other suspects directly involved in carrying out
(28:28):
this attack. Our investigators are working with other agencies in
the process of executing four search warrants. One is for
the church itself where this crime occurred. The other three
are residences nearby in the metro that are related to
this shooter. Additional firearms are being recovered from those three
(28:52):
residential locations as we speak. We are also aware of
a manifesto that the shooter had to be released on YouTube.
This manifesto appeared to show him at the scene and
included some disturbing writings. That content has since been taken
down with the assistance of the FBI, and it now
(29:15):
remains under active review by our investigators. We know this
community is reeling and is in pain. I want to
ensure everyone in our community, this parish, all of the
families affected, and all of our residents that all of
law enforcement collectively local law enforcement are in our county,
(29:38):
our state, and all of our federal law enforcement partners
have been here and we are all working tirelessly to
uncover the full scope of what happened, to try and
identify a motive, why it happened, and whether there are
any other further details. We will continue to share updates
as the investigation and we may commit it to being
(30:03):
as transparent as possible while protecting the integrity of this investigation.
In a moment, I will take some questions that I
am able to answer, but first I want to bring
up the principle of Annunciation School, Matt Dubois, as well
as after him, the archbishop, our Archbishop Bernard hubdah So principal.
Speaker 6 (30:29):
Good afternoon everyone. To any of our students and families
and staff watching right now, I love you. You're so
brave and I'm so sorry this happened.
Speaker 3 (30:40):
To us today.
Speaker 6 (30:43):
Within seconds of this situation beginning, our teachers were heroes,
children were duck down. Adults are protecting children, older children
are protecting younger children, and as we heard earlier, it
could have been significantly worse without their heroic action. This
is a nightmare, but we call our staff the dream Team, and.
Speaker 3 (31:04):
We will recover from this.
Speaker 6 (31:06):
We will rebuild from this, and we planned for this
school year. We intentionally chose the theme from the prophet
Jeremiah chapter twenty nine, A future filled with hope. There's
nothing about today that can fill us with hope.
Speaker 5 (31:22):
