Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Gary and Shannon and you're listening to KFI
AM six forty, the Gary and Shannon Show on demand
on the iHeartRadio app. All right, let's get right to it.
A lot going on right here in Los Angeles with
the lead story nationally happening. That's where we can just
play you know, what's happening?

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Time for what's happening.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Michael Monks from KFI News has been on the story
since early this morning when we learned there was an
arrest in the case of the Palisades fire that blew
through the entire town, killed twelve people in the process. Michael,
bring us up to date.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
Well, we learned today that federal prosecutors believe they have
the guy who started this fire. It's interesting to note
that he's not accused of starting the Palisades fire per se.
He's accused of starting what they called the Lachman fire
in the early minutes of New Year's Day. Mister Windernett
is a uber driver at this time, driving around Los Angeles,

(01:01):
driving around a couple of passengers who investigators say later
told them that he was disgruntled, was angry, unpleasant to
be around, and ultimately after making a last stop on
New Year's Eve, pulled into an area of the Palisades
where prosecutors say he lived at this time, walked up
into a hill, watched a music video multiple times, a
song that he watched a lot whose video included imagery

(01:23):
of fires and used some type of open flame they
did not specify to start a fire. Interestingly, this guy
called nine to one one several times could not get through.
Apparently he was not able to get a good connection
one that was spotty. By the time he did call
nine one one, other people had, so he leaves the scene,

(01:46):
sees fire trucks coming and decides to turn around and
even communicates at some point with firefighters and starts to
record the work that he had done. Now, firefighters were
able to get the Lockman fire under control. They they
suppressed it to the point to where it really wasn't visible.
But what happened was this fire was smoldering for days

(02:07):
underneath all of the vegetation up there, and when we
got those dangerous Santa Ana wins that came several days later,
it blew the Lockman fire back to life and ultimately
morphed it into the Palisades fire.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
I've got to believe in Gary. You mentioned this earlier
that him trying to call nine one one will be
a mitigating factor when he sentenced, that he tried to
do something potentially after the damage was done, but unfortunately
setting that fire on the first, which led to the
fire on the seventh and killed twelve people. Him calling

(02:40):
nine to one one after the fact does not eradicate
the guilt.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
If there are more charges to come against this twenty
nine year old man who was arrested today in Florida,
by the way, where he has since relocated. US Attorney
BILLI Sale will bring those charges. You know that local
officials want accountability for this fire. Residents one accountability for
this fire, and we'll hear at one thirty of press
conference led by city Councilman Tracy Park, who represents the Palisades,

(03:08):
some reaction from locals in that area about today's news.
But I would imagine if there are further charges, especially
murder charges which don't seem out of the realm of possibility,
they would be brought now.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
I was just looking at a social media post by
Rick Caruso, of course ran for mayor of la and
it's a pretty lengthy statement on this, and he says,
it's a tragic day for Los Angeles. My heart goes
out to the families. YadA, YadA, YadA. As the US
attorney said, evil people will do evil things. This was
an evil act and the individual identified must be held accountable.
Then he goes on to say, what makes today even
harder is that everything we feared about this disaster being

(03:41):
preventable turned out to be one hundred percent true. This
was a failure of government on an epic level, starting
with Mayor Bass. Her inner city's incompetence, mismanagement, and failure
to plan, prepare and pre deployed directly led to people dying,
thousands of lives being upended and put on full display. YadA, YadA, YadA.
He brings up a good point, and I hate spreading

(04:03):
around blame for everyone. But one of the first things
was if the fire was set on the first, shouldn't
the fire department have put it out completely so that
it could not re a night on the seventh? Yes, Also,
we got that weather forecast. That's what Karen Bass got
a bunch of heat for leaving town. When you got
the weather forecast like we got on our desk, saying

(04:23):
those winds are gonna come down cold from the mountains,
and they're going to.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Be saying, we haven't seen something like this in a
long time.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
And you and I sat here before those fires and said,
this looks like the real thing. This looks like the
worst case scenario for our fire weather. This week, she
saw the same forecast, and she's got a lot smarter
people coming in and briefing her than we do, and
no offense, and she still chose to not, you know,
put all hands on decked pre deploy to the strongest

(04:54):
levels of the city's availability when it comes to forces.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
What we know today based on these allegations is the
origin of the fire. That does not release anybody from
blame and accountability on response, recovery, pre work, prevention measures
that could have taken place, perhaps in some of those areas,
as far as removal of fuel as they call it,

(05:20):
the vegetation that might catch fire. There's still more work
to be done, still many questions to be answered. But
what we know today based on these allegations is the
origin of that fire. And while it did morph into
a tragedy that has to mean something, it does answer
maybe the biggest question, you know, what caused this. There
was a lot of speculation fireworks and homeless people and

(05:42):
that sort of thing that may have caused this, but
based on the allegations today and the arrest of this
man in Florida, we know the origin.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
It would be nice for government to combat dumb assery,
because we're always going to have dumb assery. We're always
going to have some dumb ass disgruntled uber driver who
watches some videos of rap songs and it plays around
chat GBT and playing with a lighter in the brush.
What you hope is that government can fight back against
dumbass ory proactively. And that's certainly not what was happening

(06:13):
here when you got the forecast and realized it was
going to be that bad and this wasn't.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
I'm sorry, I know you're trying to type on the
Gary and Channon.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
I am so if I might get a word in.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
Remember though, the Palisades firing, the eat and fire, those
were the big headliners because they did the most destruction,
But there were other fires that were not insignificant around
that time, and one set of those fires in the
San Bernardino County area, I believe Beaumont area. There was
another arson. They did eventually convict a guy most recently,

(06:45):
but they had arrested a guy around that time for
setting fires in that area. So I mean, this is
not unfortunately uncommon that a lot of the fires that
we have in this area, because we're so vulnerable to
them spreading rapidly, they're caused by folks. I also the
interesting thing about this guy specifically, he was interviewed back

(07:05):
on January twenty fourth. This guy has been in the
file for some time before they were able to put
together would make the connection to put him at the
scene of the fire itself. Yeah, that's right, and they
used They interviewed him a couple of weeks after, right
January twenty fourth, around that date, so we're talking three
plus weeks after he allegedly set the fire that he's

(07:28):
talking to them. They were very clear they would not
share his statements, they would not share motive, but they
said he made false statements to us. And I'll just
clarify what I just said as I remember more clearly
the fire where the arrest was made in San Bernino,
San Bernardino County. That was late last year, so it
preceded these fires. But you know, somebody who wants to

(07:49):
start a fire can do that in this area and
cause massive destruction. That guy lasts fall ended up paying
some consequences, and it looks like this guy might as well.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Thank you. Hey, it's my pleasures. Michael Monks.

Speaker 4 (08:01):

can get to with our trending stuff, an update on

An hour from now, John's going to give you another

and Hamas representatives from the United States and cut Her
expected to be present on this third day of talks
in Egypt. All sides have expressed optimism, but there are

(09:19):
some questions on requirements that hamastics arm, the timing and
extent of an Israeli true patrol from Gaza still remain.
By the way, just wanted to point out we did
earlier in the show talk about that interview that's now
gone viral. Katie Porter running for governor, was asked about
reaching out to the other side of the aisle. It

(09:39):
turned into a mess. She came across very poorly. The
whole video itself is not very flattering to her. We
reached out to talk with the reporter, Julie Watts about it,
about what's going on the communication. The vice president in
charge of community locations for CBS responded to us and

(10:03):
all they said was they're not providing interviews at the
time at this time. And Katie Porter did stay for
the entire interview, even though she had said she was
going to cancel the interview and threaten to kind of
walk out right in the middle of it, she did
stay for the whole thing.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
So some other stories we're following for you today. Air
traffic snaffing shortages remain a problem disrupting air travel. Air
travel around the country yesterday and today, delays at airports
and Nashville. In Chicago, my brother's flying to Nashville tomorrow
and a six am flight. Maybe we'll have him on
if he gets delayed or something like that. The first

(10:41):
flight out though of Sacramento shouldn't be a problem.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
But what's it like waiting?

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Yeah, tell us about the big Bunny sculpture there at Sacramento.
The disruptions came one day after the Transportation Secretary Warren
that the government shut down would lead to delays and cancelations.
Of course, we are no stranger to this news. Because
Burbank had no air traffic controllers for about six hours.

(11:06):
We had delays on Monday of an average of two
and a half hours out of that one. But you're
looking at facilities in Philly and Vegas and Nashville and
Chicago and Houston and Boston short staffed. It's important to note,
I think it is not everyone agrees that nobody's missed
a paycheck as of yet. These are air traffic controllers

(11:27):
that are calling in sick preemptively.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
Yeah, well, only because we haven't reached pay period yet.
I mean, we've all reached seven days into the six
seven days into the shutdowns.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
As somebody that I spoke to this morning in my
life said, well, wouldn't you And I said no, I
would like to believe that I would not do that, Like, yeah,
that sucks. It's one thing to call in sick once
you start missing paychecks because you've got to take care
of kids at home and can't pay for childcare. I
get that, But calling in sick before you've missed a

(12:05):
paycheck just to f things up to make a point
that I'm important. I would like to think I wouldn't
be that person.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
I hope. So, I hope, so thank you for being
that person.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Thank you.

Speaker 4 (12:18):
Free to Parton is talking about her sister Dolly, and
I don't know whether to be worried or not.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
Oh, Dolly Parton put out some sort of I'm trying
to look for it, some sort of social media post.
Oh yeah, here it is. I ain't dead yet, was
the headline. She directly addressed fans concerns today in a
lengthy post on social media, saying she wants to put
people's minds at ease. She says she's got some problems,
but she's still working her butt off in Nashville. She's

(12:46):
having a few medical treatments, but clarifies she is not
dying well.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
Her sister, her sister free to Parton, had written on
a Facebook that she had been up all night praying
from my sister Dolly.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
Many of you know that she hasn't been feeling her
best lately. Now.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
She got out a kidney stone, which anybody who knows,
anybody who's had a kid it's awful, right. She developed
an infection from the kidney stone. She postponed six shows
of her Vegas residency, which we're supposed to run December
fourth to the thirteenth at Caesar's.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
It's important to point out the part and family are
not people who are fox whole Christians. These people pray
for everything, and they pray for what other people might
consider small things, And if their sister is not feeling well,
they're going to pray.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
Freda is going to pray for Dolly to feel better.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
That's not dear Lord, please bring her back from the
brink of death.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
It's a really good point.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
She just praying for her sister.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
These are people that pray for the squirrel to cross
the road safely exactly.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
I mean when although knowing.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
That Dolly partner has had some health issues and then
seeing her sister post something like I've been up all
night pray for Dolly, that makes it sound a little
more dire.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
So yeah, they both came out to clarify.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Bad Bunny is catching some heat. All eyes on Bad Bunny.
Of course, he sat out God Bless America during the
Yankees game, raising eyebrows. He chose not to stand during
the singing of God Bless America. Now, this is during
the seventh inning stretch. The crowd mostly stands and sings
during God Bless America. But it's not the same as
standing for the national anthem. Different thing. There are rules

(14:31):
for the national anthem. You're supposed to stand, put your
hand over your heart, take off your hat?

Speaker 2 (14:34):
What have you?

Speaker 1 (14:35):
God Bless America on the seventh e I don't think
it's an f and you to America not to stand
and put your hand over your heart, is it? I
think a lot of people use the seventh inning stretch
to do just that get up.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
Stretch to say, if you're in the beer line.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
Most places, if you're in the beer line, they do
not stop the beer. They'll stop the beer for the anthem.
Oh right, I'm sorry, you're right. For the anthem anthem,
they'll stop it.

Speaker 4 (14:59):
The the others God Bless America stuff, they won't.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
It's a patriotic song. Sure, it's a little bit of
social pressure to do so, but you're not.

Speaker 4 (15:08):
You're not required to or expected necessarily to stand like
you would for the nationale.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
What's going on with this Keith Urban Nicole Kidman thing.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
Well, so everybody's blaming Nicole Kidman, and partly because of
all these sex shows.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
That she's been doing.

Speaker 1 (15:23):
Yeah, and I.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
Don't get it.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
I mean, when I watched Baby Girl, I thought, wow,
and maybe this is just me getting old. I thought
that is a married lady doing that.

Speaker 4 (15:37):
Yeah, But beyond that, I when I was in college
I dated an actress, an actress. He wanted to be
an actress, and we had this conversation of okay, but
let's say you become an actress, Like, let's say that
you do get into the business. I'm not okay with
that kind of a scene.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
Listen.

Speaker 4 (15:56):
I have no control over this woman, clearly, and we
weren't married or anything like that, but it came up
in a conversation. I would not be okay with that.
And if Keith Urban knows that his wife is doing
these movies again, you know what you're getting in, you
know what you're getting into, but then to be hammered
over the head with it repeatedly, and then as she's
getting you know, she did two or three movies in

(16:17):
a row that all appeared to be very heavily sexualized.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
She looks great. How old is Nicole Kidman.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
She's in her fifties.

Speaker 1 (16:26):
She looks incredible. But yeah, I mean, that's got to
be something even if you're even if that's just part
of the course when you're an actor. I don't know,
but he has gotten heat for maybe this affair with
his guitarist. So I think there was a host of
issues a cornucopia of potential issues going on there. And

(16:47):
guess whose business it is? Not ours?

Speaker 2 (16:50):
Nicole Kidman fifty eight.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
Wow, good for her.

Speaker 4 (16:53):
What you watch on Wednesday when we come back, let
us know what you're watching. Tell us on the talkback feature.
If you're listening on the app, all you have to
do is hit that little and it leaves us a
quick message.

Speaker 5 (17:03):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
Am six forty.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
Man. A lot going on today.

Speaker 4 (17:11):
US Attorney's Office this morning announced the arrest of a
twenty nine year old guy at a Melbourne, Florida on
a criminal complaint charging him with maliciously starting what became
the Palisades Fire back in January. The complaint alleges that
this Jonathan rinderneckt started the fire and Pacific Palisades actually
on New Year's Day that we knew labeled the Lockman

(17:35):
Fire that eventually turned into the Palisades Fire several days
later when the very strong wins that came in blew
that thing back into a significant size. Also out of
DC today, former FBI Director James Comy pleaded not guilty
in a criminal case he entered it not guilty plea
through his lawyer at the federal courthouse in Alexandria, Virginia,

(17:57):
to allegations that he lied to Congress five years ago.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
That kicks this process off.

Speaker 4 (18:02):
The defense lawyers are going to argue that this indictment
and indictment be dismissed even before trial, which they probably
have a pretty strong case for, arguing that it amounts
to a selective or even vindictive prosecution, not to mention
timing issues and other problems that exist in this case.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Hey, make sure to use a talkback feature on the
iHeartRadio app. Let us know what you're thinking.

Speaker 4 (18:25):
Give us doing this because I did everyone want to
play this?

Speaker 2 (18:29):
I didn't want to.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
Everyone should have a voice, and even go on, everyone
should have a voice. Let us know what you think.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
You want to know what this guy thinks. Hey, Shannon,
did anyone ever tell you you're a major? The capital K? Actually,
I'm sure they have c word the major major. I
don't get it. I wasn't going to play that.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
I think that people should know what's out there walking
amongst them. Is that a thing? Do certain people spell
that word with a K when they spell it?

Speaker 4 (19:03):
I don't know what that was a reference to me,
because it can't be that he's thought it was that.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
It's not that he thought.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
That there was some sort of k tie in. I
don't know. I don't know, okay, But more importantly, what
are you watching?

Speaker 2 (19:19):
The following program is brought to you in.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
American television. They win their USA television.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
You've been watching too many of those live television shows.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
All four games are on, All four baseball games are
on right now a lot of people are watching the
Mariners game. Seattle's up one nothing in the bottom of
the second over the Detroit Tigers. Seattle leads that one,
two to one, and then you've got the Cubs and
the Brewers coming up next. It to the Brewers are

(19:55):
up to games in that series. They could seal it
up today. And then you've got the Dodge and the
Phillies at six h eight from Chavez Ravine. The Dodgers
up two games and that one, and then of course
the evening game the Yankees Blue Jays. With the Blue
Jays and the lead on that I.

Speaker 4 (20:13):
Was saying, yes earlier today, a big dumper, Cal Raley,
the catcher for the Mariners, who had just a spectacular season,
hit a home run last night they're in Detroit. He
hit a home run in Detroit, bounces in the bullpen,
and the guy who catches it in the stands is
wearing a cal Raley shirt that he made himself that

(20:33):
says dump here.

Speaker 1 (20:37):
So great like that, just such a feel good story.
The A Zach guy gets the home run ball.

Speaker 4 (20:42):
And if because I mean a place like Seattle, they
don't go to the playoffs very often, so the TV
stations in Seattle will scrape together whatever money they can
get and they'll send a reporter or a camera or
both out to the game. And they were able to
catch up with this guy in the you know, after
the game, and he is just ecstatic, ecstatic.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
I'm currently wasting brain space. What still exists with Love
is Blind? Season nine?

Speaker 2 (21:10):
That Netflix? It is?

Speaker 1 (21:13):
But last night, yesterday afternoon, my power went out. What
and the only thing I had downloaded on my iPad
because I had been an hour to kill and the
only thing I had was a movie I had downloaded
and started on a plane and then like quickly abandoned
it because it was awful. And it's one of those
shows or movies that Netflix keeps trying to put my way.

(21:35):
You're gonna love this. You're gonna love this. It's number one.
It's You're gonna love it. The Wrong Paris is the
name of this movie, and Oscar down the Hall had
said it's pretty good. Kat and I liked it. He
and his wife liked it. It's cheesy, but it's good,
and I was like, I turned it off. I could
tell that his abs were painted on. It was awful,
But yesterday I gave another shot because it was all

(21:56):
I had to entertain me for an hour, and it
was cute. The dialogue wasn't as bad as you'll see
in recent show or I've seen in recent shows. It
was mildly cute.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
It's called The.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
Wrong Paris and it's starring Miranda Cosgrove. She's from I Carle,
She's from all of those types of you know, Jake
and Josh or Drake and John. You know, you know
what I'm talking about, all of the uh, you know,
the kids stuff that we missed out on Nickelodeon. I Carl, Lee,
Drake and Josh. She was in School of Rock, Despicable Me.

(22:30):
She's adorable. I love her. I think she should be
in all these girl nextdoor roles that have been cropping
up because she's great, and the two had some cute banter.
What happens is she's got this dream to go to
art school in Paris, but she doesn't have the money
for it. She finds out that this dating Bachelor esque
type show is going to be filmed in Paris, so

(22:53):
she kind of glombs onto it. She happens to fall
into it. I guess is how it works. And anyway
that I watched it to Shannon, Yeah, it was so good.
It was cute.

Speaker 6 (23:03):
Yeah, it was cute, and it was like, I'm not
gonna say trash, it was very campy, but it was.
It was a perfect amount for like what's going on
in the world. I just need to turn my brain off.
And she, like you said, she did a great job
playing the girl next door and you know, yeah it
was cute and that his abs were insane.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
Yeah, because they painted them all. I mean, they were
good abs period, Like his body is incredible. They didn't
need to paint on extra shading and it was so obvious.
But yeah, but yeah, no he had Yeah, good for
him and good for her. They're a beautiful couple. But yes,
you're absolutely right. It was the perfect escape for an

(23:44):
hour and twenty minutes or whatever it was.

Speaker 4 (23:46):
I had a good adventure movie that I wasn't I
didn't hate was that we watched it on Friday.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
I'll tell you when we've come back.

Speaker 5 (23:54):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 4 (24:01):
We are in the middle of what you watch on Wednesday.
We'll get back to this in a second. Can I
do it quick? What were you listening to?

Speaker 2 (24:09):
Quickly?

Speaker 4 (24:10):
And it'll just take a moment. Okay, It's very satisfying
when we get to do this.

Speaker 2 (24:13):
Okay.

Speaker 7 (24:14):
I always love to hear you guys talk about the fires.
How you guys said that you guys knew and the
information came across your desk. Can you guys said it was.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
Going to be big?

Speaker 7 (24:23):
Blah blah blah?

Speaker 2 (24:24):
Yess you roll the team.

Speaker 7 (24:26):
I remember you guys making fun saying, oh, another weather event,
just like the rain? Are you guys making fun of
the rain alerts? You guys were not taking it seriously.
I heard it. I listened to you guys every day.
I know you guys are making fun of it. Didn't
take it to yours out.

Speaker 4 (24:40):
Okay, let me go back to the way back machine. Oh,
the morning of January seventh, twenty twenty five, nine o'clock.
This is within moments of opening the show. You were
talking about driving down foothill and that the wind was crazy.
I was talking about wind at my house and wind
driving in was blowing the car around.

Speaker 2 (24:59):
We weren't joking.

Speaker 4 (25:00):
Then we get into this sort of the Palm Dale
Annimal Valley. We're seeing some rainfall, also chilly Chili rainfall,
So it is going to be a that is good
just in terms of decreasing the fire danger in those
already fire prone areas. The rain, the precipitation is great,
the wind is not right.

Speaker 1 (25:19):
They are calling this destructive, life threatening. It is going
to dramatically raise the risk of wildfires for the next
several days.

Speaker 4 (25:27):
I don't need to go any further than that. We're
clearly not making fun of the fire wind alert that
had come out on January seventh.

Speaker 1 (25:35):
No, we were taking it very seriously because it was scary.

Speaker 4 (25:37):
And then at ten thirty when somebody left us a
talkback message, it said I'm seeing smoke from I'm in
Santa Monica and I could see the smoke in the
mountains up to the north we thought, here we go.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
Yeah, and that's exactly the way we set it too.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
Yep, that's all.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
Just wanted to throw it in there. Back to what
you watch on Wednesday.

Speaker 4 (25:54):
Also on Netflix is a show called a movie called
Play Dirty. Mark Wahlberg Lakeith Stanfield are probably the two
standout actors in all of this, but Keegan Michael Key
is in it. You've got Gretchen Mole, Tony Shaloub, even
a totally unnecessary cameo from Mark Cuban playing Mark Cuban.

(26:14):
Totally ridiculous. But it was a very it was a
fun sort of a caper. Makes it sound a little goofy,
It was not goofy. There are some light moments in it.
Mark Wahlberg is funny with those very violent, very very very.

Speaker 2 (26:30):
Violent, and I liked it.

Speaker 1 (26:32):
I like violence.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
It was it was good. It was Play Dirty.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
What are people watching right now? Producer Matt has been
able to track down the most popular twenty five TV
shows right now. At the top of the list is
Wayward Season one. Talked about this one a little bit
last week. Here's how it is built. An eerie mystery
that eeskews easy answers. Wayward can occasionally feel as listless

(26:57):
as its title, but surprising twist bubbaah, it doesn't even
get into it. Wayward is about a camp for wayward kids,
and the person who runs it is Tony Collett, who
I adore and is she a good person? Is she
a bad person? Is there something nefarious going on? That's
kind of the pretense.

Speaker 4 (27:14):
I forgot you told me that Tony Collett is in
that that would make me watch it.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
I watched one episode but kind of wasn't dying to
go back to it. Maybe I'll try it again. Black
Rabbit is number two. Deborah Mark likes Black Rabbit again.
I watched one episode. I liked it. It was good.
It's too similar to a book I'm reading of where
brothers get into the underworld, and so I had to
put Black Rabbit down so I don't confuse the brothers

(27:38):
I'm reading about and the brothers.

Speaker 4 (27:41):
In Black Rabbit. House of Guinness is also up there.
I didn't realize that House of Guinness was by Stephen Knight,
a creator of a bunch of other historical dramas. But
it's getting pretty good ratings, not only from the critics
but also from regular viewers. Task again is one that
I have not yet started, but I'm excited to Mark Ruffalo.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
I could do without.

Speaker 4 (28:05):
Tom Pelfrey is great, very specific, they said, culturally specific
crime story that's unrelentingly bleak, but equally riveting.

Speaker 1 (28:16):
Do you think you'll give a monster the Ed Gaenes
story we talked about yesterday in True Crime Tuesday? You
think you'll give that a watch? No, no, it's not
your Did you watch any of the Ryan Murphy shows?

Speaker 2 (28:28):
I saw Glee. We watched Glee because I thought it
was fun.

Speaker 4 (28:31):
Ah, And you know how I am about show Choir.

Speaker 1 (28:35):
You love show Choir, I know.

Speaker 4 (28:37):
But there's other Ryan Murphy products that are perfectly acceptable.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
I just I worried about that guy.

Speaker 1 (28:42):
I love Dahmer and I loved Menanda's brothers, but this
one is not grabbing me the same way The Girlfriend
is up there. I signed off on that one. If
you read the kind of books I like, with the
twisty and the suspense and the women behaving badly, you'll
like the Girlfriend. It's on Amazon Prime and Robin Wright
Penn does her thing in it, and the girlfriend is

(29:04):
played by Olivia Cook and she's fantastic as well.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
Are you going to watch Chad Powers. What is this about? This?

Speaker 1 (29:10):
About this football player?

Speaker 6 (29:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (29:11):
Remember Eli Manning pretended to be Chad Powers when undercover,
makeup and everything like that to try out for a team. Right,
this is a fictional version of that. I mean, I
guess that was fiction, but it was basically a reality show.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
This one.

Speaker 4 (29:26):
Glenn Powell is a standout college football player who basically
wants to relive his glory days and goes back undercover
as this Chad Powers character.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
Steve's On eventually comes in and plays his coach.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
I will not watch that.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
What are you talking about? You like Steve's on?

Speaker 1 (29:44):
Steve's On? Steve?

Speaker 2 (29:45):
Yes, you know Steve's On.

Speaker 1 (29:46):
I do not.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
Yeah, when you see his picture, you'll see it.

Speaker 4 (29:49):
I thought that this would be really fun because Glenn Powell,
despite everybody saying that he's this weird, hunky looking fella,
I think he's kind of funny looking. But he's also
a good humorous actor. I think he's good at comedies,
so I will definitely.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
I think comedies are tough, though, because if you're not good,
it's obvious right quick, and I've got no time for you.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
I just thought that you might like the football aspect
of it.

Speaker 1 (30:14):
Well, it's not real football.

Speaker 4 (30:16):
I know you don't like fictional football. Easy Tiger, don't
make that face.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
I don't like you when you call me ty.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
Your canyon piercing is showing.

Speaker 1 (30:26):
What's wrong with you. Did somebody punch Did I punch you?
And in the throat when I wasn't looking? Why are
you attacking me? Tiger? Canyon piercing Tiger, Easy Tiger, Oh,
that's not I'm not attacking you. It feels like an attack.
It's not.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
John Cobelchow is coming up next. We'll see it tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (30:44):
S heay drive everybody, now we're going away mad.

Speaker 2 (30:48):
