Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Gary and Shannon and you're listening to KFI
AM six forty, the Gary and Shannon Show on demand
on the iHeartRadio app. Michael Monks is joining us for
the Michael Monks Local News Power Hour.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Happy to be here with you, Shannon, and you did you.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
Come up with that term, by the way, the power Hour?
Or was that Keana?
Speaker 2 (00:18):
I would never aggrandize myself in such fashion, but I
do appreciate the adulation.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
Nonetheless, what would you refer to it as.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Michael Monks filling in for one hour on weekdays while
Gary Hoffin is on vacation?
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Okay, fair, fair, You.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Don't want people, You don't want to get jealous, you
don't want to look too cocky.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
Right, you don't want to over promise.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
You know, everybody wants to be on the show with you.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
That is a lie. Everybody's dying back. Like when do
you say everybody? Do you mean nobody? Because that's who's
back there.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Listen, I'm just throwing you some love on this Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
I know, but there's nobody who works here, so the
love would have worked better if there were actual people
back there.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
Well to that point, when you know more of a
I guess upsetting characterization of what we're experiencing here. I'm
here because you don't have a choice, So that is
why I try not to build it up too much.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
That is not true. There are a lot of people here,
and there's a lot of people, and you are our
favorite person.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
That's very sweet.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Now, this is a story that surfaced yesterday during this
show about an American idol executive and her husband shot
and killed inside their home and Encino. And the news
yesterday was that they were shot and killed on Monday.
But now we're learning that the killings happened days before
their bodies were finally discovered on Monday.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
It's a terrible story when you think about reaching that
level of success in your professional life, in your personal life,
a beautiful home in Encino and to be snuffed out.
Circumstances still relatively unclear, of course, but someone has been arrested.
But what a tragedy, Just an absolute tragedy. When you
(01:56):
you know, in the news business, you come across horrible
stories every day. Someone's day on the freeway, someone's dead
in a shooting in one part of the city. I
think it's important and I say this to students when
I get to speak to them, is not to forget
your humanity, and that is something that I will always do,
even when writing these stories, is to at least take
a moment before proceeding with work and think about the
(02:17):
fact that these are people with families. And when you
think about what that moment must have been like, it's
just horrifying.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Yes, and we are in a place where there are
crazy people running around willy nilly because we don't address
the situation for whatever reason. Home invasions neighborhood crime is
up in some places, and in fact, that is what
neighbors are saying in this case. This is in Cino,
(02:51):
and in fact, the family directly next door talked to reporters,
the neighbor saying that he and his family are completely terrified,
but they're not shocked. He says crime home breaking, specifically
in Encino, has escalated dramatically in the past few years,
(03:11):
and that immediately after the news broke of these murders,
several neighbors had an impromptu meeting where they agreed to
look out for one another because it's just too dangerous
to rely on home security systems alone. And that is
in Encino, folks, I don't know about you and me.
(03:31):
I actually do know about you and me, Michael, And
we don't live in Encino, No we don't. So if
it's happening there, it's happening in other places as well.
As was reported yesterday, a twenty two year old has
been arrested, Raymond Bouderian, rested on suspicion of a double homicide.
(03:52):
Now detectives believe he has no relationship to Robin and
her husband already say it was an isolated incident. It
doesn't that make you even more terrified these home invasions
that are random.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
It's something to think, oh, well, it's tragic and scary.
But this was someone who was mad at them, not
this is somebody who popped into the neighborhood for a moment,
which means somebody else could pop into the neighborhood again
and next time it's my home. This problem has been
going on and Insino for some time. I reported last
year that the LAPED acknowledged that burglaries were on the
(04:23):
rise in that part of the valley, and that neighbors
had also even convened during that period to start their
own patrol.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
Yeah, they did, and there were several meetings in this
neighborhood of neighborhood watch type meetings. That wasn't the first
time that group had gotten together after the killings. Now,
this guy, this twenty two year old Buderian, believed to
have entered the house through an unlocked door and on
that was on Thursday afternoon. The couple comes home from
(04:52):
wherever they were at discover him in the house, in
their house, and they were shot in that confrontation. Now,
the body, the bodies were not found until Monday, but
authorities were called out to the property on Thursday when
a person was seen by a neighbor scaling the couple's fence.
(05:16):
Police apparently were on scene of that area. They were theirs,
They were surveilling the area, what have you. They searched
the property in the area, but no suspects were located.
Al was fine. So there was a call that came
out Thursday, but the bodies were not discovered until Monday.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
And to know that a neighbor saw somebody scaling the
fence shows that people are keeping an eye out. But
if there is not an appropriate response from the people
that you're calling about it, then where do you put
your trust? Where do you put your faith and where
do you find your comfort? Again?
Speaker 1 (05:46):
Yeah, you don't. I don't know how you do. There
was a call for service to this couple's home in
the middle of the night back in May for as
many as five people trespassing, and then tmzoorts that this couple,
this murdered couple, LRIC looked into private security not long after,
so they're very home had been trespassed upon just months ago.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
It's jarring. It's just terrible. And the folks in Encino
need to keep their guard up because every way if
they've known about the problems in that community, at least
since last year when we saw burglaries on the rise,
specifically in that part of the valley, And here we
are with yet another tragedy, now not just a burglary,
but two people dead.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
All right, we've got LA unified, bringing trade classes back
a men, I am so happy. Do you have any
sort of gifts when it comes to trades, Michael, No?
Can you you go to auto shop?
Speaker 2 (06:43):
I die with radio?
Speaker 1 (06:45):
Ah? So you also have no skills?
Speaker 2 (06:47):
None?
Speaker 1 (06:47):
Well, we do have the meat candy that we are
talking about.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
I'm entrepreneurial, but I can't fix anything. Or repair or build.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Yeah, okay, well we're in bad shape here.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
Do you ever go through a witchcraft phase? I know.
I think it's a rite of passage for a lot
of teenage girls, preteen girls to be interested in the
whole witch thing. I know, for me, the major motion
picture the craft was very popular circa nineteen ninety four ish.
There's just a fascination with it. Anyway. People are going
(07:29):
on Etsy to hire witches for jobs, for more sunshine,
for the Knicks to win games, and you can hire
your own witch for whatever spell you want the witch
to cast.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
I'm kind of a witch, you are. You didn't know
this about me?
Speaker 1 (07:45):
I did not.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
I hate even admitting this on broadcast because of the
I don't know it, the weirdness surrounding this type of stuff.
And I'm such a fact based guy because I'm in journalism,
but I love I've always been attracted to the law
of the track and like the secret, you know, the book,
the secret in that whole thing, and then it from there.
It led me down a path and I like to
(08:09):
burn incense or candles that some witch says she's infused
with her energy. I like crystals and I write in
a gratitude journal.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
You know what gratitude goes a long way.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
It's a I call it good witchcraft.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
It's also very good for people with anxietying. Go if
you're feeling anxiety, panic attack, things like that, sit down
with a pen and paper and write down things you're
grateful for. Within five or six things, it'll go away.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
I will tell you this. Just before I got this job,
and I was really struggling to find a job here
in La and I thought it was all just going
to end for me, and I was going to have
to go back home having swung and missed out here,
which was going to be hard for me to accept.
But in my apartment, I was like, I got to
change the energy in here. I was still getting a
lot of the previous tenants nail and he used multiple aims,
(09:00):
and it was all debt collectors and like the Department
of Transportation coming for his license, and this guy had
a rough go at it and I was still getting
his energy, is what I felt like. So I finally
started returning to send her not at this address so
that fewer pieces of mail would come. But I also
bought one of those sage sticks and the crystals, and
(09:23):
I went to a tarot card reader and I did
the whole thing. So she gave me a great message.
I went home with her candle that she charged me
a lot for, with her energy built inside of it lit,
it burned, the sage did a little chanting. Within days.
And this was between Christmas and New Years, where you
don't hear from anybody. I was getting all these interview requests. Wow,
(09:47):
the mail stopped coming in for this guy. The energy
completely shifted. And then finally Chris Little called and I
got pulled into KFI that I had options by the
time this one came. I I clearly chose poorly, but
I'm glad to be here with you today.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
That's a great story. I totally believe in all of that.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
Yeah, I mean, look, is it coincidental? I don't know.
But I changed my attitude. I changed the environment in
the room. That's it.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
That's what do you change your I tapped into the
dark argy change your attitude. It works. It does have
to be dark, it canna be light. Sounds like a
good witch. Yeah, it's without that third girl in the
craft that gets dark. You know it's all good until
the third one went dark. We've got your chance at

Speaker 2 (11:11):
I have gone to the Grand Central Market on I
think Thursdays and Fridays. They have shops in the basement,
and there was a lady there that I trust and
in the tarot lady she's only open on occasion. It's
like she only got a feel years and I keep
looking for it because I'm due. Like what's next on
the Michael Monks story.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
How often do you go to a tarot card reading?
Speaker 2 (11:33):
I read it. I get a tarot reading every day.
On the TikTok there's a woman I follow every day
and I love her messages. I just hate that I've
confessed that I'm into tarot, but.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
I have TikTok. And it's the part where you're.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
When I go, well, you know, I don't search her out.
It comes into my algorithm. They know I want it,
and it makes me feel good. It makes me think
every day. But I will do a proper tarot reading
once or twice a year, okay. I will pay upwards
of one hundred dollars for a good one.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
Okay. And in this woman you like in La.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
I could not believe what she said to me. It
was just like what the way she changed me. I
was struggling throughout twenty twenty three here in La, not
knowing what the hell was wrong, why I couldn't get
a job at all? This experience. I came here prepared.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
This is when you were working at the Elpoile.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
And I was working as a cashier at Opoyo Loco, Right,
you know, with all the experience that I have, and
like I can't, I don't understand. I came here humble.
I didn't feel like I needed to be any more humble.
But gosh, I was what she told me, because I
was not trying to come into news. I was trying
to get into like some pr or something, and I
wanted to be more of a creative writer on the side.
She told me. The thing that sticks with me is
(12:41):
you cut off too much of yourself when you left.
I stopped talking everybody back home. I left home behind.
But with that, I left all of the things that
were you are of me, and that includes talking about
the news and broadcasting and writing and being part of
the community and exercising and those sorts of things that
(13:02):
I had completely lost myself. Yeah, and it just flipped
like a switch. I came home and immediately changed the
energy in the place. And it's all been great for
me since. Yeah, just great. Well, it shows you have
very good energy about you. I'm a good witch.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
The answer is always inside. You gotta look look within,
look within, all right, Michael monks. We're out of time.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
Well, we'll talk about the trades and maybe if witchcraft
were taught in high school we would have been better students.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
You know it, Let's roll with it.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
It takes a while. I'll just say that. And in
the wrap up questionnaire here it brings up a very
strong point. Here's one of the wrap up questions. In
the future, would you prefer to take courses like this
online or would you prefer to take courses on this
topic in person from an instructor? And I'm like, Okay,
(14:00):
I would much rather be online where I can ignore
it half the time.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
You could do it on your time, And I think
your time is almost up. Are you getting that in
under the wire? That was due thanks? Everybody in the
building had to take this.
Speaker 4 (14:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
No, I know. The deadline was yesterday and I tried
to get it done, but I got it done just now.
It's over.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Okay, But do you think the bosses aren't going to
see that you are daily?
Speaker 1 (14:23):
I saw the boss this morning and everything was copaesthetic.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
Okay, I know, we we We've got some news to
talk about and I want to, but we got It's
unlike you and I to be sidetracked into other conversations.
But it happened in the last segment and we talked
a bit about.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
Have you met us? Have you heard us?
Speaker 2 (14:41):
I want to hear from from Dennis here? Who listened
to that. Okay, this is weird. I used to like
Michael Monk's a lot more before I knew he was
into witchcraft and Carrol Kurd Dennis, Dennis, don't give up
on me. It was a part of personal growth, know.
Speaker 5 (15:01):
You know, I like Michael Matts, Monks, whatever. But man,
I didn't know he was that much of a chick. Candles, crystals, carrot.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
Cards, whatever, classic pisces are.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
I'm an aquarius.
Speaker 5 (15:21):
I was rooting for you a big time.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
He was rooting for me. And and now that he knows,
I'm into you know, the tarot, And I do what
I have to do to get through the day. Look around,
look around at this crazy world. What do you do
to get by? Do you have a donut in the morning?
Do do you go home and make love to a
stranger that isn't your spouse? Do you find ways?
Speaker 1 (15:43):
Can we get some crystals?
Speaker 2 (15:44):
I mean I found a way to cope in all
of this matter.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
There on a well deserved vacation because Shannon hogs all
the PTO. But in this case, since Michael.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
Is on today with you, Shannon, I think you guys
make a great pair.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
When Gary's gone, Michael, you need to be there all
the time. How about that? Thank you, jeff Sie, Jeff
gets it.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
Would you do that? Would you be here all the time?
Speaker 2 (16:10):
I would be here all the time. Anyway you might
see me in your rearview mirror on the way.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
I'm being serious. In the future, when he leaves for
a month and a half like he did this time,
he deserved it. Whatever. I used to think that a
week and a half ago.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
It's a long road alone. Two weeks is a long vacation.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
Aually, his wife sent me a picture of them yesterday
and they look so happy and so relaxed. Look at
this picture. You don't even recognize Gary. Look at that.
Oh he's a sunburn He does not tank.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
He's definitely sunburned, but he does look happy. I think
the perfect vacation length is nine days. You leave on
the ninth day.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
Yeah, I can't do past ten. Yeah, I get real squirrely.
I need to be home for me. Yeah, nine is good.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Nine is good.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
You need a few days to get into it, like
to decompress.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
If you're driving somewhere, especially or if it's a long
flight somewhere, right, you need you need to count that
day as kind of a throwaway.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
So when I almost called her my niece, so my
cousin Katie and her wife Ali. Ali's been on the
show a bunch of times. She does morning show at
k Rock now the Klan and Alley Show, and she's great.
And when they moved into my house because of fires.
They live out in Thousand Oaks area, and this is
(17:28):
a handful of years ago. They brought their crystals and
their sage and the whole bit, and they were staying
in our guest room, which is about the size of
a shoe box. I mean it is a tiny room.
And they had two cats, god, so two women, two cats,
and they had all their like their sage and the
different figurines and a whole slew of things. Now, do
(17:50):
you travel with your with your crystals?
Speaker 2 (17:53):
No, I don't. I do take the Gratitude Journal with me.
So when we were in Carmel last month, I took it,
and I always put the location of where I am
on an end of the date, so that when I
go back and see what I've written in the past,
you know, I know specifically was happening. So I would
take that book, I would sit down, and I would
I would write the words that the crystals represent into
(18:13):
the Gratitude Journal and then write what I'm thankful for
that day.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
I have a question about the crystal. So you have
five that you use currently, do you ever swap one
out for a different crystal? And then is that bad
karma for.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
I don't know, Like I'm not into it that much.
I'm not that much of a chick.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
I would feel bad if I set aside one of
the crystals I was using for another crystal and then
that crystal got pissed off and came back to bite
my ass.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
Yeah, let me tell you this, because this is only
going to sound weird and I've gone too far and
I should stop while I'm ahead. But every time there's
a full moon, I put the crystals in the window
so that they can be charged by the full moon,
and I write a special journal entry for that new
moon that month. That's start. That's starting with the moon
(18:58):
cycle ending or whatever. I don't I don't know the
I'm not into it enough to know all the details.
But it makes me feel good. Yeah, And I sometimes
worry about the placement of the fight. Should should this
one be closer in the world right? But I keep
them in the same position to represent the love, the happiness,
the success, the wisdom, and the willpower. That's my mantra.
(19:19):
Those are the five crystals that I have.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
I went to a psychic once at the County Fair
and this is when I was probably I don't know,
eighteen or nineteen, and the psychic told me that there
would be an important person in my life that would
have the initial L. And I can't tell you how
often I thought about that, like in my dating life,
(19:43):
like I was going, am I looking for a Larry?
Like what we know one of my You know, is
there an L in his name? Because you're you're young
and you're in your in your early twenties. And I
still had that thing in my head, like, who's L.
Never met anyone with an L, there's no L. Then
I find out twenty years later that my biological mother's
(20:08):
name is Loretta. Stop it crazy, right, Stop it the
only other, this only l that has entered my life.
Isn't that nuts?
Speaker 2 (20:20):
It's uh, look, could it be coincidental?
Speaker 1 (20:22):
And then I went to Sedona one time and I
did a reading and she was completely off base. I
mean she was like, you are so warm and loving
and look at all this warmth and let and I
was like, you have the wrong person.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
You know, when you've got a dune, you know, when
you've got it, you've got to show person someone that
just is taking your money. And honestly, even though I
like it, I appreciate it as a novelty. I want
to make that clear, you know. I I will tell
you the reason that I'm into it is because it
makes me think about things I want to think about.
It makes me feel good. Whether there is magic in
(20:57):
the universe or metaphysical things happening between the moon and
the crystals and the sage in my apartment.
Speaker 1 (21:03):
I don't know whatever makes you feel good, but it
makes me do the right thing. It's not meth or heroe.
If it makes you feel good, go with it.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
And sure sitting down and throwing fifteen bucks at a
you know, somebody on the pier at the beach, you
know to do a couple of cards for you. You
don't always, but sometimes.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
I mean, people pray to God every morning and every evening.
Speaker 2 (21:22):
I hesitate to call out the similaries because I know
how sensitive people can be about their religion, so I'm
not doing a direct comparison, but there are similarities. I mean,
prayer and gratitude are very similar. I mean, if you
are a Christian that says thank you God and you're
a secular person who says thank you Universe. The message
isn't crafted exactly the same, but the intention of thinking
(21:44):
something bigger than you for what you have is exactly the.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
Same, exactly right. Yeah, whether it's the universe or God
or both, we.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
Should learn how to do taro. I would love let
me tell you how popular one hour tarot show would
be be a completely different audience.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
Probably would we just bring in different people and read
them well.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Plus we'd be on at midnight. You can't do that.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
Why would we Why would we be on at midnight?
I don't think k if I would put on you
have a show right here for the next couple of
days until the tarot start hands.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
But the phones would ring off the hook. Because people
love tarot and they don't like to admit it. Really,
I think that's true. We're all curious about weirdness, right.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
Yeah, sure, the unknown and it's fun, all right. Can
we get to the trade schools?
Speaker 3 (22:26):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (22:26):
Yeah, yeah, so I guess uh no, we'll do it next.
We're out of time now.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
I got a lot of audience questions coming in about.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
Oh really, car Oh well, then let's just roll with
it through the trades.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
Am sixty.
Speaker 1 (22:44):
Apparently Trump is moving closer to firing FED Chair Jerome Powell.
That he will likely be fired soon is the latest.
Apparently Trump had asked Republican lawmakers if he should fire
the FED chair Jerome Power, so that is in the
hopper as well as President's the president's comments this morning
(23:05):
from the newly bejeweled with gold Oval office disavowing supporters
that are pushing the Jeffrey Epstein BS. He said, I
don't want their support. That's a big one. We'll get
into it coming up after Deborah's news. At the top
of the hour. Speaking of Deborah, Michael Monks has joined us,
and we started talking about crystals and witchcraft. And because
(23:27):
we're going to talk about how people are hiring witches
on etsyed coming up later in the show, and Deborah
mentioned that and I forgot that she had done this,
but she at one point brought Sage in to the
John and Ken show. That was so funny.
Speaker 6 (23:43):
Ken was not He was not pleased, but John thought
it was hysterical. I still have the video of it.
But I was trying to make John kind of a kinder.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
Calmer talk show host. And you know what, I think
it worked. You know, I heard him talking about Pageant
of the Masters yesterday. I think it was yes He
said it was the best ever, and I was like,
who I mean you? And I know that he's a
good person, right We see him in the halls. He
talks about his kids, he talks about his wife. He's
a lovely person. He's completely normal. But on the air,
(24:15):
when it bleeds through to on the air, it is
troubling to me. It's so funny. He's like the passenger
of the Master's. It was beautiful and it was all
this art from California, and I was like, who the
hell is this? What did you do with my job?
Speaker 6 (24:28):
He's totally different. He's a kinder softer John. I mean
he still has you know, he's still very.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
Edgy, of course, but that sage is powerful. Oh I know,
Holy hell.
Speaker 6 (24:37):
I've also you know, I also brought him a gummy
one time. Oh did he take it? Not on the air,
but he took it. He took it at home and
it really freaked him out.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
Really yeah, was he alone?
Speaker 1 (24:48):
Because I've seen him put down some cocktails and there's
no change. Everyone knows somebody like this, but they can
drink and there's no change. John's one of those guys.
Speaker 6 (24:56):
Oh you should ask him when you see him today
about when I gave him a gummy.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
Oh yeah, Okay, Still I can't wait. Also because I
got a letter. I just got this letter in the
office and it is addressed to me and to John
so and it's it's a it's a typewritten letter. So anyway,
we'll deal with a couple of things John and I
today that.
Speaker 6 (25:18):
I have to say, I didn't know that Michael Monks
was into smudging, and.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
Say, I know it's not something that I talk about
a lot because I know it gets weird reactions. It does,
and I don't look like the type. Maybe you know,
I'm not ethereal I'm kind of allowed even but I
like a little bit of peace in the home, and
I found a path to peace in the home through
(25:42):
the universe.
Speaker 6 (25:43):
And The Secret is my favorite book.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
I'm just gonna put.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
It out there. The Secret is definitely a gateway.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
I said, I'm just going to put it out there,
because that's the whole take it is. It is put
it out there and be thankful for things you don't
even have yet exactly.
Speaker 2 (25:57):
For for just quick brief summary of the scene. Great
the messages, you know, think about your life, think about
what you want, and the keywords are ask, believe, receive.
So ask the universe for what you want, believe that
you have it already exactly, and receive it.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
And be thankful for it. Yeah, even though you don't
even have it, that's right.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
And again, to compare it to religion, you do hear
even in religious texts a lot about gratitude.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
I read The Secret when I was in my early
twenties and poor and going to check cashing places and
I was like, f this bs secret this now now
I totally believe in it everything I want now. So
Michael Muggs tell us what did you find in the
treasure trove of talkback?
Speaker 3 (26:45):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (26:45):
You know what I found it. I know that we
sometimes get talking to people will swear. I know, but
people like talking about darrow and crystals.
Speaker 1 (26:55):
Is that right?
Speaker 4 (26:56):
Guys? I love this conversation so much. There's the most
amazing witch store in Hollywood called pans Apotheka. She's been
Vicki's the owner. She's been there for a billion years.
They actually wore the store where all of the people
from the craft went to learn about witchcraft.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
How about that? So that's the place that you would
go love the learn from those people that you love.
Speaker 1 (27:24):
Did you ever play light as a feather stiff as
a board?
Speaker 2 (27:27):
Yeah, of course. I mean as a kid, you think
everything is real.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
We totally thought it worked because you know, when you're
a ten year old girl, you weigh about seventy pounds
and and sure, if there's enough of you can lift
them up with just the fingers.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
Yes, I had a crystal.
Speaker 1 (27:44):
I did the same thing.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
I switched it out when I should have.
Speaker 3 (27:47):
It got mad at me, and it found its way
into somebody's car windshield.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
I was gonna say, this guy's gonna make a joke.
I feel like i'ming from a mile away.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
Yeah. So what I'm finding is that we got a
lot of talk, bis we don't enough time to get
through all of them. I love the messages, especially the
ones that are our support, have and excited. And just
know this is not a recurring segment on here. I
just derailed the conversation today because you've got a witchcraft
segment coming up later in the show, and it got
us thinking. But now you know, Michael Monks and Deborah
(28:17):
Mark are witches.
Speaker 6 (28:19):
Although you know, you guys brought up Chris Little earlier,
and I remember one time it was on the John
and Ken Show when Ken was still here, and you know,
they always gave me, you know what about going to
an astrologist or whatever. I think I went one time
and Chris Little said, yeah, as a newsperson, I don't
(28:40):
know if it's a really good idea to talk about that.
I said, Chris, I went one time, and I was
a kid practically, I wasn't even on the air.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
So I know people think it's kind of weird, but
it is what it is, right, Monks.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
It is you know, we have to prove things that
we report. We don't have to prove things that we
enjoy right.
Speaker 1 (29:01):
All right, private lives, all right, I'm taking back the
reins we've got. Thank you, Michael, thank you, Debrah, Crystal Jay.
Let's put out the stage with the fire extinguisher. We've
got business leaders now hesitant to applaud the president's firing
of Jerome Palell if indeed that's what's going to happen,
(29:23):
a lot of chatter about this being an imminent move.
And you've got the chief executive of Goldman Sachs saying
that independence is something that's important. Also, things are heating up,
and the Jeffrey Epstein storm, we've got that for you
as well. All coming up next on Gary and Shannon.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
You've been listening to The Gary and Shannon Show. You

nine am to one pm every Monday through Friday, and
