Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Gary and Shannon and you're listening to KFI
AM six forty the Gary and Shannon Show on demand
on the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
We're going to do a couple things, fun things. We're
going to do our intention word for twenty twenty six.
We're going to try to come up with one of
those for the New Year. Also, Motivational Monday is coming along.
We have Gas Fantasy for play to fill in the
blanks for what we know is going to happen now
on the last weekend of the NFL season, and then
of course our trending stories, which is what we do right.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
Now, and we ask what else is going.

Speaker 4 (00:32):
On time for what's happenings?

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Well, we have sunshine today and some wind out there
courtesy of the Santa Anna's, but we will have rain
hindering the reality just in time for New Year's celebrations.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
High wind warnings and advisories up today for La County,
San Fernando Valley parts of the Inland Empire, But the
biggest issue is going to be the rain, likely Wednesday
into Thursday and then off and on potentially through next Tuesday.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Gusts could reach fifty miles per hour in the foothill
and canyon areas sustained winds up to thirty that's going
to be That's what's going to make it a real mess, because.

Speaker 5 (01:18):
That rain's going to be blown around everywhere.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
There is also a story that suggests that, speaking of
celestial events, the Moon and the Sun are going to
be big in the twenty twenty six lineup of cosmic wonders.
For example, the first astronauts to the Moon in more
than fifty years, and then a caravan of lunar lander robots,
including the New Blue Moon from Jeff Bezos.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Where are we on three I at lists. The aliens
they came, they saw, they left fading by the day.

Speaker 5 (01:50):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
And they didn't even get any of their alien stuff.

Speaker 5 (01:54):
They didn't even They just dropped their genetic material and left.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Bad to go.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Three I Atlas had to go get some smokes about that.
President Trump met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjaminett and Yahoo today.
They were talking about all kinds of things, and probably
the top topic was the.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Issue of Iran.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
The nuclear capabilities of Iran, according to President Trump, were
completely and fully obliterated after our strikes in June. Israeli
officials have been quoted as saying Iran is likely rebuilding
its supply of long range missiles that are capable of
striking Israel. So they are in the midst of lunch

(02:37):
right now. They're at mar A Lago down in Florida.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
We do have La Area Movie Theater that is closing
for good, very sad. This will be in Calabasas. It's
part of a major redevelopment of the upscale Calabasas Commons
shopping center. So this was a six screen theater, luxurious

(03:01):
they say. Opened in nineteen ninety eight is the Edwards
Grand Palace Stadium six considered one of the most expensive
theaters per screen ever built by Edwards. Edwards went bankrupt
and the theater was acquired by Regal later became the
Regency Calabasas Commons, but it has struggled, like many theaters
in recent years, as people go back to streaming or

(03:23):
go to streaming.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
We pulled the plug on theaters in twenty twenty twenty.
We decided that that was not a good place to go.
And there's no real that was at the exact time
when streaming was getting its getting its feet underneath it.
And then when we told people to stay home and
stream stuff.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
That's exactly what they did well.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
And now going back to the theater is a situation.
It's more expensive. You're sitting there listening to people breathe
and eat like you don't have to do at home.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Breathe and eat it.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
Those can be loud things sometimes when you're.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Sying by the way, sighing, people sighing, just sighing, just
for and just for no good reason, just a loud sigh.

Speaker 5 (04:08):
Do you have those in your family?

Speaker 3 (04:09):
I have them everywhere. I hear it all the time.
I hear it all the time.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
It's just apropos of nothing then no context at all,
just a big.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
If you call people on a sigh, sometimes they get
very defensive.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, Margie, I tell you what if
you say, what is it?

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Or is there? Is there?

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Some Are you sighing because of your frustrate? Are you
sighing because of something that just came up on your phone?

Speaker 6 (04:39):
Or you just die?

Speaker 3 (04:41):
Was it that call of third and eight? Like why
are you running?

Speaker 1 (04:44):
You have to work two doubles at the at the mine, right,
You've been on two.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Ships for the last three weeks in the old coal mine. Yeah,
and you could barely sigh because your lungs don't work anyway, what.

Speaker 5 (04:57):
It is sighing?

Speaker 3 (04:58):
It is ridiculous, But it the unconscious sign.

Speaker 7 (05:01):
I know.

Speaker 5 (05:01):
And what are you putting yourself through?

Speaker 1 (05:04):
If you're unconsciously giving an outward sign of I am
put out?

Speaker 3 (05:08):
I am a turmoil in your.

Speaker 5 (05:10):
What is the turmoil?

Speaker 1 (05:11):
And are you giving yourself turmoil by all those size and.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
Are you or is it just?

Speaker 1 (05:16):
Is it just you want someone to pay attention. It
could be that, or it could be habit. You could
have learned it from somebody. Are you around a chronic
sire and you've picked up the sigh? Maybe it's time
to look in the mirror and decide you're not going
to be a sire.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
And if I ever if I ever do it, if
I ever sigh and someone says to me, are you
what was that?

Speaker 3 (05:38):
What that was a big sigh? And I go, I
didn't mean that.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
Yeah, I know. I don't want to be caught sighing.
I hope I don't sigh because I live a great life.
I don't I have nothing to sigh about turmoil. I
don't have turmoil. Niners and the Chargers are both in
the playoffs. What do I have to siy about. See,
I've seen the bad seasons and i've the size. This
is not a time for you to sigh. Right, Sorry,

(06:05):
that was a weird It was a weird rant. Well,
you had a lot of people in your life in
the past week.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
It does feel like there's been a lot.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Of you need some shut it down time. You need
to go home and just shut it down to be a.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Good dead week. Yeah, you know, I got Yeah, did
we take.

Speaker 5 (06:23):
This week off last year?

Speaker 1 (06:24):
I remember like just becoming my couch last year probably
I remember sitting there and just becoming my couch.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
Yeah, because the week we came back was the week
of the fire.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Oh okay, yeah, right, And I didn't want to say
anything at the time, but you know I could tell.

Speaker 5 (06:42):
You could tell yeah, thank you, I've heard you.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
I can remember one time when I heard you sigh
and you were standing over there by the window.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
Was just a couple of weeks ago, I know, and
you said I looked like Kermit looking out.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
You always look like Kermit. Knew about the window. Okay,
we're going to go through what your intention is. I'm
gonna put it. I'm gonna put you through the test
and the break. Okay, so we'll have your intentional word.
Washington posted an interactive intention word if you want to
If you want an intention for twenty twenty six, what
is that?

Speaker 8 (07:17):
Is it?

Speaker 3 (07:17):
Peace?

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Is it strength? Pick like a thing you're striving for
and go with it. We're gonna find out what Gary's is.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
AM six forty Windy.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
Today.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
We will see some gusts maybe fifty sixty miles an
hour in a few areas, mountains and the valleys throughout
the region. National Weather Services saying we might see some
power outages as a result. Keep an eye out for
obviously down trees, power lines, and things like that. But
it will change. That forecast then changes to rain starting
on Wednesday and could continue off and on through next Tuesday.

(07:58):
Some amounts of rain looks like off and on through
next Tuesday. Thousands of people across the Upper Midwest without power.
They are watching yet the latest bomb cyclone roll through
heavy snow and strong winds to the Upper midwest of
Great Lakes area. High winds and heavy snow there expected
to move east and hit the Northeast over the next
few days weather wise, the staff at Mammoth Mountain.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
Confirmed the death of one of their ski patrollers.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
A thirty year old named Cole Murphy died from injuries
that were sustained in an avalanche. The avalanche occurred on Friday.
Second ski patroller sustained non life threatening injuries in that
same slide early Friday. Murphy is now the second ski
patroller to die at Mammoth this year. There was another
one that was killed in the slide way back on
Valentine's Day.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
We ran out of time to find your intention? Do
you want to talk about football?

Speaker 3 (08:50):
Is there a football?

Speaker 5 (08:51):
There's always football always December.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
Tonight tonight, Monday night football game. The last game of
Week seventeen is the La Rams in Atlanta to take
on the Falcons.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Oh, we did play Gas Fantasy four play, but Elmer's
in the dr with all our picks, right, Yeah, we
took all that. Yeah, I have no idea who I picked.
I wouldn't remember.

Speaker 5 (09:13):
Do you remember who you picked? No, Well, it's gonna be.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
This season has been incredible, like that Niners Bears game,
instant classic last night. But I feel like we've said
that every week for the past month and a half.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
Well, yes, but remember, and we said this at the
beginning of the season as well, it took five or
six weeks for anything to make any sense.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
Yeah, nothing, nothing seemed right.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Yeah, for the dust to settle and figure out who's
good who's serious.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Which is why I say this all the time. I
start paying more attention to football after the World Series,
because then you're in weeks eight and nine, yep, and
you give everybody a chance to you know, get there,
get their wiggles out maybe and figure out what's good
and what's better.

Speaker 5 (09:53):
Around the time that it's it's going to be injured
for the season.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
Yeah, around the time everybody wrote off the forty nine
ers out, Fred Warner out brought pretty up for six games,
You had Kittle out for a while, everyone wrote them off,
And here they are looking at potentially the number one
seed in the NFC.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
But there have been, like you said, there have been games.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
It feels like, in the last month, month and a half,
each week there is a game that is unbelievable.

Speaker 5 (10:18):
Yeah. I said to my husband last night.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
You know this was like the was it Kansas City
Rams game a handful of years ago, where it's just
a shootout, just back and forth, and whoever loses just
ran out of time.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
Yeah, and that it gets down to it.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
I think they were saying that the forty nine ers
punter has punted twice in the month of December.

Speaker 5 (10:35):
And it was last night. He hadn't punted for two games.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
That's insane.

Speaker 5 (10:40):
Yeah. Yeah, they've been rolling. They have been rolling. Kyle
Shanahan has been in his bag.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
The Chargers lost on Saturday to the Houston Texans twenty
to sixteen.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
They lost to the They lost to the Chargers, who
the Chargers lost to.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
That's a better way to put it. Perhaps.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Unfortunately, like we said, the Rams will be playing in
Atlanta tonight. One of the things that they do now,
which I think is a brilliant move, is they don't
schedule the last week of games until the seventeenth week
of games.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
Basically.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
Yeah, so last night they got to choose, the NFL
got to get together and decide who was going to
play when. And one of the things that they do
late in the season, of course, is they play on Saturdays.
So next Saturday, here.

Speaker 5 (11:26):
Are the games that matter. I'll just tell you the
games that matter.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
We'll just get to the quick of it, shall we
there are three games that really matter for the division,
for the number one seed in some situations, You've got
the Seahawks and the Niners. Is probably the marquee game,
and that will be And that's not just because I'm biased,
That's just because it's the two best teams that'll be
playing next weekend and they play each other, and that

(11:51):
will be five pm our time on Saturday. Now before that,
you've got the Panthers and the Buccaneers and they're fighting
for the NFC South. These are two teams that are
backing into the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
Just going to say they're awful records.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
And and I will also say that on the AFC
side of things as well, the AFC North battle will
be Steelers Ravens.

Speaker 5 (12:15):
That will be Sunday night.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
That is also just like the Panthers Tampa Bay, whoever
wins goes to the playoffs, wins the division, whoever loses
misses the playoffs entirely, the Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers
will be playing a game against both teams, kind of
backing into this playoff scenario Sunday night.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
I would just be cure.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
I would love to have sat in on that meeting
and to figured out why they chose the AFC that
matchup for Sunday, the final game of the season, why
they would make it that game and not the Seahawks
and forty nine.

Speaker 5 (12:47):
Ers Saturday night.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
Saturday Night's good, probably because more people care about the
Ravens and the Steelers nationally than care about two West
Coast teams. Nobody else cares about the Seahawks three nine
Ers now, and Steelers fans are everywhere.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
That's true.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
So, and I think people still think of the Baltimore
Ravens as what the Baltimore Ravens were, which is just
I mean, you get Derrick Henry going, that's really what
you need. I don't know why they moved away from
that during the season. At times, give the man the
ball and you're gonna win. Their defense and is not
what it used to be, but it's still formidable.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
There's no other game outside of those two there. I
guess maybe if you count, there are.

Speaker 5 (13:32):
Still thinks there are still things to playoff.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
Yeah. No, Tampa Bay and Tampa Bay and Carolina they're
fighting for the.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
Yeah, I know, those two on Saturday and then that
Sunday night right, those are the three that count.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
The other there's some ancillary things that are people are
fighting for, like the Broncos still fighting for the number
one seed in the AFC, you know, and there's some
things that have to happen. The Jaguars have to lose,
it's one of those things. Patriots would have to lose,
Broncos have to win. It's a whole thing when it
comes to the AFC number one seed and who gets that.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
Buy that's fun. You get to go to Denver. Like
we said, it's gonna be better weather in Denver. Yeah,
probably than it is going to be here.

Speaker 1 (14:10):
I'm excited. Well, I've got friends there too, so it's
always fun for me to go to Denver.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
You see your friends.

Speaker 5 (14:16):
I'm going to go day early.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
Yeah, oh well that's nice.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
Yeah. Henry's fourth birthday was over the weekend. Can you
believe that? Or a godson?

Speaker 5 (14:25):
Yeah? Four years old?

Speaker 3 (14:27):
Does he have a football yet?

Speaker 2 (14:29):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (14:29):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (14:30):
Okay, good?

Speaker 5 (14:31):
Which football?

Speaker 3 (14:32):
Exactly?

Speaker 1 (14:33):
He's about the size of you. He's growing pretty uh
pretty quick.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
Parents.

Speaker 5 (14:37):
He's got very that's true. That's true.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
We do motivational Monday. We'll do that coming up in
a little bit. We also have to get to this
intention word for twenty eight Yeah.

Speaker 5 (14:49):
I'm going to do this. In the break. We're gonna
get your intention.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
I'm gonna Gary's were intention for twenty twenty, So tell
me you have to.

Speaker 5 (14:56):
I'm going to do word to do the quiz.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
It's going to be like remember the days of YAM
magazine and you do the quiz with your friends the
days of what.

Speaker 4 (15:04):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
Start of a New year, Time for resolutions? Do you
ever keep your New Year's resolutions?

Speaker 3 (15:14):
Do I keep them?

Speaker 5 (15:15):
Do you remember years from last year?

Speaker 3 (15:17):
No?

Speaker 8 (15:18):
No?

Speaker 2 (15:18):
Oh yeah, well I started it. It was something like
drink tea every day.

Speaker 5 (15:22):
Oh that's right, green tea. You stuck to that for
like January.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
No, I did a few months.

Speaker 5 (15:28):
Yeah yeah you did, and then you didn't really notice
any difference.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
I don't think I was concerned about the microplastics in
my testicles.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
Huh okay, well, I mean if you asked, is that true?

Speaker 3 (15:40):
Sure?

Speaker 5 (15:40):
I didn't know that this was a concern of your Supposedly.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
There are several brands of tea that have microplastics in
their bags.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
And they find their way into your testicles, because that's
where pe goes before it's filtrated out.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
I don't know how it ends up there, but that's
how they that's where they go.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
Okay, don't make that face when you're the one who
brought your testic into this conversation. I did not present them.
I did not bring them up. You brought them to
the forefront. You were like testical frontage. Here we go,
Here we go. Are you worried about other plastics? Like
there's plastics in everything you're eating and drinking and it's
all going to get into your testicles.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Yeah, but if I might as well cut out at
least the stuff I know about.

Speaker 5 (16:21):
Okay, I'm sorry, I asked.

Speaker 1 (16:26):
They say, before you make a list of goals, do
one thing set an intention That research shows our intentions
can play a key role in determining how we behave, including.

Speaker 5 (16:37):
The pursuit of health goals.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
According to a twenty twenty review, setting intentions can be
a potent way to shift our behaviors. Can help you
clarify your values, goals, and hopes. And if you are
needing an intention, there are ways to ye. Just google
it different. You know, when you know sometimes you need
a nudge word or whatever. You know, what am I into?

(17:01):
What do want to want to? What do I want
to be more of? Like at yoga, they'll offer up
like strength or peace. You want to be more peaceful,
you want to be more grounded, you want to be
more open, all of those things. So Washington Post has
a intention word generator. Washington Post, by the way, has
gone pretty woo woo, pretty biased in this year of

(17:24):
twenty twenty five, I've noticed. But anyway, here we go.
We did this in the break, we both did it,
and Gary chose to be more joyful. There were five,
I think things you could choose from and uh and
then it and then it prompts you with a set

(17:44):
of words on cards. What word speaks to you? And
the word that you chose is patient. You want to
be more patient. So can we have some intention music
or something or do you want the harps?

Speaker 5 (18:00):
I don't know what the harps are? Oh yeah, this
is nice, this is nice.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
This is what it sounds like when the Chiefs aren't
in the playoffs constantly from now and okay, your word
for twenty twenty six is patient to be more joyful.

Speaker 5 (18:21):
In twenty twenty six Do something kind.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
Joy is a skill you can build, says Alyssa Appel,
a professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at University of California,
San Francisco, a co author of the study dubbed the
Big Joy Project, It asks participants to think of five
people they might see that day and one thing they
could do for each to brighten up their days. The

(18:46):
participants were encouraged to say or message something kind to somebody.

Speaker 5 (18:53):
That's beautiful? Is that it? I can't figure out how
to use this computer?

Speaker 4 (19:00):
The are new?

Speaker 5 (19:00):
Now, well this is Richie's computer. Oh there it goes. Yeah,
that's that's it. That's it. Does that help you?

Speaker 3 (19:10):
So take five people?

Speaker 1 (19:11):
Yeah, and then think a think of five people you
may see that day and one thing you could do
for each to brighten up their day.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
Is like Richie just walked in and brightened our days.

Speaker 5 (19:20):
What could you do to brighten Richie's days?

Speaker 1 (19:24):
The exercise like you're going to today, You're going to
see Richie, You're going to see your wife, your daughter,
your son, and me, Okay, and a way to start
your days thinking like what you can do to brighten
the people that you know? You're going to see and
then that gives you joy by brightening their day. See
how that works?

Speaker 5 (19:45):
Like, what could you say to Richie that could brighten
his day?

Speaker 3 (19:50):
Have you lost weight?

Speaker 6 (19:52):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (19:52):
How did you know?

Speaker 1 (19:53):
See that's really sweet and that was thoughtful too. Now
see what you're doing. You're smiling because I.

Speaker 3 (19:58):
Gave you joy?

Speaker 5 (20:00):
All right?

Speaker 1 (20:00):
And patient? I guess you just a word you sit with.
Just strive to be more patient. What do you need
to be patient with?

Speaker 8 (20:07):
Like?

Speaker 5 (20:07):
What in your life is possibly annoying or taxing?

Speaker 3 (20:10):
Oh? I don't know.

Speaker 5 (20:14):
What's my word?

Speaker 4 (20:16):
Huh?

Speaker 3 (20:17):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (20:17):
I thought that you said you wanted to be more
calm and more balanced. Yes, so your word for twenty
twenty six is balanced balanced.

Speaker 3 (20:27):
To be more calm than the new year.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
Take a soft and smooth breath, be kind to yourself
and realize that it might be hard in the first
instance to learn it, but just relax into it, since
the whole point is that you're relaxing and inducing calm in.

Speaker 3 (20:50):
The body with this breath thing.

Speaker 5 (20:52):
Right, Breathing is key.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
That comes from Guy Fincham, who was an associate researcher
at Brighton, And that.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
Comes from a guy to breathe. Thanks, guy, literally need
to breathe to stay alive. You've got a degree for that,
and I mentioned in an article in All Things Work right.

Speaker 5 (21:08):
Yeah? Mm hm cool?

Speaker 3 (21:13):
Did Richie know what? Do you know what your word is?

Speaker 5 (21:17):
Let's play?

Speaker 3 (21:17):
Okay, what about you?

Speaker 5 (21:19):
Allie? Yeah? I did it and my word was authentic?

Speaker 3 (21:24):
Oh really, how do you be?

Speaker 5 (21:25):
So what do you think about this show?

Speaker 9 (21:30):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (21:30):
I think we need to go to break.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
Answer authentic and avoidant that just love stock next next year.

Speaker 5 (21:42):
All welcome, that's true, We're not We're not there yet.

Speaker 3 (21:45):
So you got a couple of days. Okay. I didn't
even play.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
No, that was just always trying to wiggle out of
his intention.

Speaker 5 (21:54):
There, Okay, so I want to see you're gonna okay, okay, continue, Yeah.

Speaker 8 (22:05):
Choose a word that read okay.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
I want to say intentional. Okay, that's good.

Speaker 1 (22:16):
Your your intention for the word for the for the
years and to be more intentional.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
Yeah you want to read this, Yeah, I'll read it.

Speaker 1 (22:23):
Okay, handle that Okay, to be more common. Twenty twenty five,
take a soft and smooth. It's the same thing. It's
from guy, the guy who got a degree from telling
you to breathe because you literally have to.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
I'd rather listen to Elmer's podcast and listen to his
breathing exercises any day to be honest.

Speaker 5 (22:37):
And blow it out his rear. End, I'll show you
the exact same one. Stupid moving on.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
Washington Post really nailed that, dumbassy what happened to be joyful?

Speaker 5 (22:48):
Patient?

Speaker 2 (22:49):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (22:50):
Where's your patient?

Speaker 3 (22:51):
Calm and balanced? Yes, when we come back, we're gonna
do it.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
Calm is so boring, right, we come on, We're going
to do supposed to just sit here and just be
freaking serene.

Speaker 3 (23:03):
Get you ready for the show. Come on for the
rest of the world.

Speaker 5 (23:06):
Almost playoffs.

Speaker 3 (23:10):
January is blowing up my butt.

Speaker 5 (23:12):
That's right, You're damn right you can.

Speaker 4 (23:16):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from kf
I am six forty.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
Is John in today?

Speaker 5 (23:26):
He was in for Clay and Buck.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
He did claim est morning.

Speaker 1 (23:30):
Yes, syndicated, big time, big time. I said to John
this morning, you're gonna kill it. The nation needs to
hear you, and they need to hear you right now.
You also release I felt like it sounded like a promo. Yeah,
it just came out of my mouth. Just it was
all natural, relaxed. It was authentic.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
Oliver breathe again. He doesn't have to start until Thursday.

Speaker 5 (23:53):
Oh that's right, that's right. You get a runway.

Speaker 7 (23:55):
Warm up to it a little bit by Shannon and Gary.
This is Julia from Love. I just wanted to let
you know that I'm getting ready to meet my high
school girlfriends from the class was seventy six. Elmony to
lunch at Northwoods. I will enjoy some lushes. Oh cheese, bread, steak,
potato salad for you?

Speaker 1 (24:17):
Oh yeah, the salad of the day. You had dark
wooden bowl. It's delicious. What is that dressing they use?
It's just fat and love so good.

Speaker 3 (24:31):
My intention words, that's not a bad year.

Speaker 4 (24:35):
Hey, Gary, Hey Shannon, I love you, guys, love you.

Speaker 5 (24:39):
I literally just got done working at the coal mine.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
So that was pretty funny to hear you guys say that.

Speaker 5 (24:45):
Jared, where is he?

Speaker 3 (24:47):
I don't know, someplace with a coal mine.

Speaker 5 (24:49):
That's pretty cool. I didn't know we had a coal mine.

Speaker 6 (24:51):
Yeah, I said a word for myself. I started doing
that a few years ago, twenty five. My word was resilience,
and that were really served me well all year long.
You know, some things came up, and I would go
back to that that I was building my resilience. And
I really do feel like I came out of the
year a much stronger person in that regard. And my

(25:13):
word going into twenty twenty six is going to be transformation.
And I am a virtual.

Speaker 5 (25:20):
She's a spiritual person. Transformation. Interesting.

Speaker 1 (25:23):
I wonder what she's like. Maybe she's retiring or something.
They say that that's a time of transformation.

Speaker 3 (25:31):
You lost me. He now is supposed to be a
time of transformation.

Speaker 1 (25:35):
No, I said retirement, retirement? I said, I wonder if
she's going into retirement because some people say that that.

Speaker 3 (25:41):
Mother arch off.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
Oh apparently somebody only needs attention work.

Speaker 3 (25:49):
At least it was authentic, Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
Maybe that's the word effect to sending twenty five strong.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
Authentic intentional honesty is something that I value whole heart.

Speaker 9 (26:00):
My word is you suck?

Speaker 1 (26:04):
Just like that? That feels great? Honestly, what was that?

Speaker 5 (26:09):
All of it?

Speaker 3 (26:10):
Putting American actions, classic American accent. It's good, all.

Speaker 9 (26:16):
Right, it's jeff in Andino.

Speaker 3 (26:17):
And I know you might not get this in today.

Speaker 9 (26:20):
But I have a question where does relaxing, breathing end
and sighing begin. It's kind of like where does computerization
end and AI begin?

Speaker 2 (26:39):
Okay, so when is Yeah, if you're if part of
your thing is that you're just supposed to breathe in
order to be relaxed, how do I know you're not sighing?
How am I going to tell the difference between those two?
Did I lose you?

Speaker 5 (26:58):
Breathing and sighing are very different?

Speaker 3 (27:00):
Right? When do I know the difference?

Speaker 5 (27:03):
I'm breathing right now.

Speaker 3 (27:05):
So audible. That's what we'll make it.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
Sighing is, like you said, I think often meant to
be noticed. It is a dramatic exhale of I am
put out, and I want people to know it.

Speaker 6 (27:21):
Was.

Speaker 5 (27:22):
When we are some into a meeting, I will do that.
I'll go when I'm breathing, you won't know the difference.

Speaker 3 (27:32):
Got it? Okay? That makes more sense? All right?

Speaker 2 (27:38):
Here we go for our motivational Monday. What do you
need to be motivated about going into this week? Because
you do have a couple of days off later so
you get to.

Speaker 5 (27:48):
Work a shop.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
I would like to actually do things that I usually procrastinate,
like cleaning some things around the house.

Speaker 5 (27:57):
I'd like my husband put in a new toilet.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
That's him.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
Oh you're trying to find a way to motivate him.

Speaker 5 (28:03):
Maybe no, no, no, no, I wouldn't do that.

Speaker 1 (28:05):
I know what they're there's the best way to motivate
him is to say nothing.

Speaker 3 (28:10):
I don't I don't quite understand.

Speaker 1 (28:11):
That, because the more times I bring something up that
I would like to be accomplished, yes, the more.

Speaker 5 (28:17):
The dial gets set backwards.

Speaker 3 (28:19):
Right, So I just shut the f up.

Speaker 8 (28:23):
Now.

Speaker 1 (28:23):
If things get a little too crazy with that toilet,
I'll just start peeing on the ground in the hallway
and then we'll see what happens.

Speaker 2 (28:29):
But I'll say nothing. You go deepot and just get
a big, bright orange bucket and set that out there
and use that instead. We try to use these motivational
mondays to kind of get you ready for the rest
of the week. And this one I chose today only
because of what you said over the weekend. And I'll

(28:50):
explain here in just a second. And it's actually become
part of the.

Speaker 5 (28:52):
Show to we weren't together over the weekend.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
No, no, but what you texted over the weekend, I
don't remember that.

Speaker 3 (28:59):
We already talked about it earlier, and now we already
talked about it earlier on the show Your Love of Hockey.

Speaker 5 (29:05):
Oh the Gay Sex Show, Yeah, I mean the love story.

Speaker 2 (29:09):
And we've done this one before as well, because it's
that great.

Speaker 5 (29:15):
But Coach oh Brooks, this is the best put.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
Together that US Olympic hockey team back in nineteen eighty.

Speaker 3 (29:22):
I mean he just.

Speaker 5 (29:22):
Watched this movie every day for the rest of my
life and be okay.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
A bunch of college kids, basically in nineteen eighty hitting
the ice, taking on the powerhouses of the Swedish team,
the Canadian team, the Soviet Union, and then in the
unlikely semi final game between the Americans and the Soviets
at the time, Coach Brooks played by Kurt Russell, has

(29:49):
to get these guys ready for the night of their lives.

Speaker 8 (29:53):
Great moments are born from great opportunity, and that's what
you have here tonight. Boys, that's what you've earned here
tonight one game. If we played them ten times, they
might win nine, but not this game. Not tonight. Tonight.

(30:16):
We skate with them. Tonight, we stay with them, and
we shut them down because we can. Tonight, we are
the greatest hockey team in the world. You were born
to be hockey players. Everyone. I am, and you were

(30:39):
meant to be here tonight.

Speaker 3 (30:44):
This is your time.

Speaker 8 (30:47):
Their time is done. It's over. I'm sick and tired
of hearing about what a great hockey team the Soviets
have scrow them.

Speaker 5 (31:00):
This is your time.

Speaker 3 (31:05):
I'll go out there and take it. I mean, the
rest of it. That the Soviets come out and they
score the first goal, they.

Speaker 5 (31:21):
All know what happened.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
It's just, oh my gosh, Herb Brooks and he died
before that movie hit theater.

Speaker 3 (31:28):
I didn't think.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
I didn't really died like months before. I think, what
a great, great coach. The way that team was assembled,
the way the pushback and the you know, the pushback
from the Olympic governing.

Speaker 5 (31:45):
Body and all of that.

Speaker 1 (31:47):
He died August eleventh, two thousand and three. And I
don't think that movie came out of four, did it.

Speaker 5 (31:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (31:55):
Yeah, that's that's also one of the It was the
semi final game. That was the whole point, was the
semi final game. They did go on to beat Finland,
they did go on to win the gold medal, but
that's not the part that was such a huge deal.

Speaker 5 (32:11):
It's like the Niner Seahawks game. You know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (32:13):
It's like that's a playoff game, Like that's going to
be a playoff that's going to be more of a.

Speaker 5 (32:17):
Challenge than you know, Carolina or whatever.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
And they could they could still meet in an NFC
champions Oh yeah, oh yeah, that would be quite Oh
my god, one day at a time. Here, let's discuss
before we before we wrap up the show. We didn't
get to it earlier. Was what will Somebody asked me
what my niece actually asked me just yesterday if I

(32:42):
thought they're going to make a movie out of Philip
Rivers return to action for the Indianapolis Colts.

Speaker 5 (32:46):
Oh yeah, it's gonna be a great movie.

Speaker 3 (32:48):
Actually, they'll make a movie.

Speaker 5 (32:50):
Oh yeah, how could you not?

Speaker 3 (32:51):
Because he doesn't want.

Speaker 5 (32:52):
A game doesn't matter.

Speaker 3 (32:54):
I think that matters.

Speaker 5 (32:55):
It doesn't matter.

Speaker 2 (32:56):
I mean it feels like, yeah, it's a fun story,
and I did like the The.

Speaker 1 (33:01):
Fact that it wasn't a disaster makes it worthy of
a movie. The fact he came off off the couch
at forty four after five years, and that he is
a god person, that he is a man of faith,
that he is a high school coach, All of that
is all that matters. The fact that he had he
had touched winning touchdown, He had touchdown drives, you know
what I mean. Like he wasn't a disaster. He was serviceable.

(33:24):
He was above serviceable.

Speaker 2 (33:26):
It would be quite embarrassing. I think if people if
looked at him.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
You know, he never won a Super Bowl, but he's
going to be in the Hall of Fame. He didn't
win a game with the Colts. But there will be
the Disney movie made out of it, no doubt. Or
if not a Disney movie, it'll be a you know,
a Hallmark type deal. But I mean that there will
be so many documentaries anyway. Would Chris Ah, I like that.

(33:50):
Somebody said Kyle Channing and I thought, well, Kyle Channing
twenty years ago, right, Coach Taylor?

Speaker 5 (33:58):
Yeah, no, is.

Speaker 9 (33:59):
That his name?

Speaker 5 (33:59):
Kyle Chandler Chandler Chandler.

Speaker 3 (34:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
I don't think he'd he's too old. He's too old
for one thing. Yeah, But Chris Pratt, Chris Pratt catcheses
a check box.

Speaker 5 (34:11):
He does check those boxes.

Speaker 3 (34:13):
Age wise, it would be pretty appropriate.

Speaker 5 (34:15):
White kind of puffy could be.

Speaker 2 (34:17):
Yeah, that's got some kids, it's god guy. Yeah, you're right.
Stuff you're right. Maybe Chris Pratt's an EP on this
on this project.

Speaker 3 (34:27):
You're good.

Speaker 2 (34:27):
Hey, if Chris wants to call me, I'm available to help,
you know, work some of the details out.

Speaker 5 (34:33):
Who's his wife Shriver's daughter?

Speaker 3 (34:36):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (34:37):
Yeah, yeah? Who would play Tiffany?

Speaker 2 (34:41):
Anyway, We've got Penrose John today, oh and Andy Reesemeyer
and for Conway.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
That's exciting. This is a good fun week. We're the
only ones who are working.

Speaker 5 (34:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:54):
Wait, I just realized that we're the odd ones out.
But I'm happy to be here, aren't you.

Speaker 5 (34:58):
I am. I'd rather soak into this chair more than
my couch at home.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
But at least this chair is not gonna take the
form of your took us right, that is true? Thank
you couch however, okay, right, lou In for John today,
we'll see tomorrow.

Speaker 5 (35:13):
Stay drivery weddings.
