Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Gary and Shannon and you're listening to KFI
AM six forty, the Gary and Shannon Show on demand
on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Marlotea is in for Shannon today.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
Good to be here ahead of the Thanksgiving Holly, you
guys are going anywhere for Thanksgiving?
Speaker 2 (00:16):
You sticking around?
Speaker 1 (00:16):
We're a staying home. I do not have to work,
which is a blessing. I typically work the holidays, so
it's nice now that I'm a mom, I've actually put
in request for the holidays off.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Imagine that. Apparently my husband wasn't worth it before, right,
It's great about that.
Speaker 4 (00:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
So I'll be home hosting the in laws and my
mom is going to come down from the Bay Area.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Yeah, that's nice. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
A couple stories that were following, The White House is
pressuring Ukraine to sign on this new peace proposal by
Thanksgiving or lose support. According to a couple officials, US
Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll presented President Zelenski with a version
of the twenty point plan. The President Trump's Special Envoy,
Steve Whitcoff drafted plan, which has been leaked and confirmed
(01:02):
over and over again, includes some several red lines for Ukraine,
including a huge reduction of the size of the Ukrainian Army.
I think it's about half, is what they're saying that
they would allow, and then giving over to Russia territory
that has not yet been conquered militarily, which is a huge.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Thing Ukraine has said. Zelensky has said he would never do.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
And so basically this plan is widely seen as effectively
demanding the country's capitulation.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Everything that Russia wants is what is in this plan.
It appears. Locally.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
Joey and Jesse Buss were fired from their front office
positions with the Lakers.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Yesterday, not necessarily a huge surprise.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
Joey was the vice president of research and Development for
the Lakers. Jesse was an assistant general manager and director
of scouting.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
Well, the whole entire it wasn't just the two of them,
it was the whole entire scouting department was fired.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
That was gone.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Yeah, yeah, of course Jeanie Genie Buss still remains in place.
That was part of this ten billion dollar deal with
Mark Walter that she would stay on as the governor
for five years. So the sibling rivalry between her brothers
and her as she stays on. But they are still
minority owners, right, Yeah, and she I think is still
(02:22):
considered the the governor governor.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
Yes, interesting term. But oh speaking of governor. Yeah, we
have news. We'll talk about Eric Swalwell coming up. But
one more of these. It's the last one.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
I promise everything will be positive from this point forward.
Speaker 5 (02:34):
Garry, you are pathetic.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Now, that's a great way to start out that I
am pathetic because he's into it because of things I say.
Speaker 5 (02:42):
Garry, you are pathetic, got it? Your wife must be
so ashamed and embarrassed of you.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
Okay, so there's also a quite a that's quite a
second shot.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
It's quite a build up. I get it. My wife
is very ashamed, emathetic.
Speaker 5 (02:56):
Your wife must be so ashamed and embarrassed of you
to actually be on Trump's side with all of this
craziness going on these last couple of days. You're a
pathetic piece of crap.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
The interpretation that you're on Trump's side, it's mine blowing
to me. I mean, just to be hearing these talkbacks,
and you know, I listen regularly and I've heard you know,
you play them and it's self deprecating, and you handle
it so well, but half the time I'm listening.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Going, that's not what he said. He didn't say that.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
And then also on these comments, they're saying Gary and Shannon,
and I'm thinking, oh, no, poor Shannon if she's being
lumped to it today with you and I'm not and
I'm not Shannon. It's not Shannon today. So apparently I'm
asking for people to call in and give me some hate.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Be careful what you wish. I know, I know it'll come,
it'll come through.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
Not over yet, this rain that we have seen for
the last last day or so, the worst of it
is over, though, the worst of it, now that we
made it through Friday, there was there are investigating I'll say,
what may have been a tornado we talked about yesterday
that the National Weather Service suggested they could see some
(04:11):
tornadic activity, as they say, and down in Orange County,
a possible tornado or water spout moved ashore just about
a quarter after ten last night in the eastern Dana
Point Harbor. They said it lofted a twelve foot segment
of chain link fence with privacy fabric and threw it
about seventy feet across the parking lot. I mean at
(04:31):
that point, that's just a giant sail, so of course
it's going to be picked up by that. Yeah, some
cars got trapped in snow overnight up in the mountains.
There are a few, I believe in Palms, City of
Palms where there was an underground garage that got flooded
in submerged.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
Coallenge, we have a Coco maca boy for Fox eleven.
I'm going to get the plugs in Gary I love.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Yeah, she's out there and she's covering that flooded garage.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
She talked to one guy who.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
Came home this morning and for he stayed the night
of his girlfriend's last night, so he's one of the
only one who was not home last night.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
So his car got saved.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
Meanwhile, all of his neighbor's car got completely flooded, which
is terrible.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
But you mentioned the mountains. Let me just tell you this.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
So last night there was a planned power outage by
so Cal Edison. The town of Rightwood was going to
be completely in the dark as of ten pm last
night to ten am today, and the residence there said,
who whoa whoo, it's thirty degrees it's snowing. Why are
we having this planned outage on this particular night, and
(05:33):
it was to upgrade some of their equipment, some maintenance,
as they called it. They sent us a statement us
as in Fox eleven, but sol Edison sent us a
statement that basically said, we know that this can be
a hardship for residents, but we have to take care
of this maintenance. I interviewed a Rightwood resident who is
immuno compromised, you know, I mean, she says to me
(05:54):
last night, and we aired this on the ten o'clock news,
I'm concerned for my health.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
Why are we turning out the lights?
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Well, just last minute, eleventh hour decision, so cow kept
the lights one.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
Thank goodness.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
Well again, I don't know why you stick to your
guns on something like that. You've just been an easy
to say, Hey, we'll do it on Tuesday instead or whatever.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
Something. Look at the forecast.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
There is still a bit of rain that is falling
throughout southern California, a bunch of different areas. If you're
headed out a way out towards the desert, like on
the way to Arizona, that's where the significant rainfall is.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Right now.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
As of the rest of or as for the rest
of today, it is supposed to taper off. We might
still see some showers and maybe even a thunderstorm or
two over the mountains.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
But what is November and some time? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (06:41):
Good, we need it. Nothing wrong with it helps the
plants and stuff.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
I guess up.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
Next, another person has jumped into the I'm sorry, I'm
stifling a yawn. Another person has jumped into the race
for governor, and in this case, Eric's swallowell his name
forces you to yawn. We'll talk about that when we
come back. Gary and Shannon will continue Contagious. Marl is
in for Shannon today.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
Speaking of somebody who hasn't changed over thirty one years,
as Eryl Crowe.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
You've seen her lately. She looks almost exactly like she
did in nineteen ninety four. I thought you were going
to talk about me for a second.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
Speaking of somebody who hasn't changed, just the looks, departments, Yes,
since she graduated high school.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
I mean the same, the same.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
I haven't grown. I haven't grown since I was in
the sixth grade.
Speaker 5 (07:39):
That's all.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
Are you five foot one? That's not true? Yes? Really, yes,
I guess have you seen my shoes? I guess you
do wear Come on now, look at these platforms.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
I'm wearing tennis shoes, but they've got got like shiel.
I'm about five to five right now, Gary Howery.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
Russian President Vladimir Putin has cautiously welcomed the proposal to
end the war in Ukraine, saying quote, it could form
the basis of a final peace settlement. He said this
is a new version of modern, modernized plan, says Moscow
has received it. We don't know exactly what Vladimir Zelensky
believes about this whole thing, but he does. He did
(08:21):
put out a statement and suggested that it gives up
way too much, So we'll see where this goes. It
is perhaps a step in a direction towards peace, but
we don't know what's scro.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
Meanwhile, there's a corruption scandal that Zelenski is trying to weather,
although he is not necessarily implicated, but because it's.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
A lot of high government officials.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
Yes, the Trump administration also proposing some new oil drilling
off the coasts of California and Florida for the first
time in decades.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
This Governor Newsom isn't happy about this.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
Governor Newsom's not happy about anything. Well, a plant proposed
by the Interior Department would open up new drilling on
federal waters off of California and off the coast of Florida.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
So yeah, I was gonna say, might be happy about Swallwell.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
I don't think he cares his sideline about anybody that's
running for governor. Yeah, he is so far that he
is looking so far ahead into the future he does
not care about who takes over for him.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
This was Eric Swalwell last night.
Speaker 6 (09:32):
Jimmy Cammel, I've been in these fights as a city
council member up in Dublin, my hometown, as a prosecutor
in Oakland, and taking on the most corrupt president ever
in the US Congress. But I'm ready to bring this
fight home. So I came here tonight, Jimmy, to tell
you and your audience that I'm running to be the
next governor of California.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
There's a good point. Steve Hilton also running for governor.
He is again Republican, and he pointed out something that
I think could be a foothold for him, for Chad Bianco,
for other Republicans.
Speaker 7 (10:08):
Apparently, according to this story. The reason that Eric Swalwell
is going to be running for governor of California is
because it will give him a new and more powerful
platform to attack President Trump. No, the reason I'm running
for governor of California is to clean up the mess
after fifteen years of Democrat one party rule, to help
working people, as small businesses who've been crushed by the
(10:31):
insane cost of everything, the taxes, the regulations.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
He makes a point.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
Suawa has said over and over again that one of
his goals if he runs for governor, one of the
goals that he's had in Congress, and one of the
goals if he gets this position would be to fight
against President Trump. Yeah, and it was just something he's
been doing for years now, and he said that, he said,
I'm taking him on in real time. My January sixth
lawsuit is one of the only lawsuits against the president
that survived the new presidency. Speaker Pelosi selected me to
(11:00):
help lead his impeachment, and I'm leading the efforts in
the House to investigate January sixth. I don't there are
plenty of people who want someone to take on the president,
and Gavin Newsom is currently the guy who is leading
that charge. Eric Swalwell wants to take up that mantle
(11:21):
in the position of arguably the head of the fourth
largest economy in the world. But what about the people
in Caloria, about the Californians, What about the state? What
about the job? What about the duty that you swear
your your allegiance to are you swear to do, which
is to defect and defect, sorry, protect and defend the
(11:42):
people of the state of California.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
Yeah, he says, I'm running for governor because prices are
too high and people are scared.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
California's next governor has two jobs.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
One keep the worst president in history out of our homes,
out of our streets, and out of our lives. So
he is dead set on continuing his fight against President Trump.
But not to mention, just talk about the field for
California governor. Talk about splintering the Democratic vote, right, because
you mentioned Bianco and you mentioned Hilton, both Republicans.
Speaker 8 (12:13):
And the last I think was last.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
Week the UC Berkeley poll that came out yes for
of those polled or undecided?
Speaker 2 (12:22):
Was I not speaking into the mic prior? Oh nobody cares,
Oh my gosh, sorry, sounded fun. I'm a rookie. So
I need to use this thing this ends Yeah, okay,
got it. Yeah, forty of those polled undecided. That is
a big swath.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
However, what was so interesting was the fact that Bianco
was leading, came out front of the likes of Katie
Porter after her headlines that she made relatively relatively recently
when she was caught on camera swearing at her staff.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
Not a good look. So Bianco came out on.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
Top Republican in this royal blue state.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
That's significant regardless.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
An Hilton, by the way, he made big gains as
well and was basically tied for number two with Javier Bessera.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
Right, I mean that's big. That is really, really big
and not to be ignored. So the question though, for
the Democrats, who's going to drop out?
Speaker 1 (13:20):
Because we saw this week activist billionaire Tom Steyer he
also did threw his hat into the ring.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
I think there's like a dozen we have to go.
Speaker 3 (13:27):
Well, there is, yes, but there is another play in
this as well. There's a wrinkle that has shown up.
You mentioned Javier Bessera and Tony Viragosa is specifically targeting
Javier Besera when it comes to these races.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
Oh, because of Dana Williamson as well. Yeah, so we'll
talk about that week the scandal.
Speaker 4 (13:44):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on Demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
Marla Teas is in for Shannon today. Before we get
back to that Governor thing, I wanted to I wanted
to mention part of the weird melody buzzer story out
of Santa Barbara County. Remember this is the nine year
old girl who's missing right right, and they were in disguise. Yeah,
she and my mom were in disguise. Ashley. The mom
was arrested earlier this month for allegedly she was charged
(14:15):
with false imprisonment.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
It was not related to this the disappearance of her daughter.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
Right, except the guy that she was accused of falsely
imprisoning was trying to help her find the daughter or
was involved in the search in some way.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
Just yesterday, the judge dismissed those charges.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
The judge said there was not sufficient probable cause to
hold her to answer to the charged offense, so she
was released.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
She was released, They.
Speaker 3 (14:40):
Took off the GPS monitor, etc. And according to the
Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department, she has been less than cooperative,
shall we say, when it comes to trying to find
her nine year old daughter. And we know that they
traveled across country, that she had rented a car and
driven several states away and with her with Melody that is,
(15:01):
but came back and didn't have Melody with her.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
That's so sad.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
And the dad Melody's dad apparently passed away shortly after
she was born, and the dad's family has allegedly not
been allowed to see Melody.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
So they're trying to figure out what's going on. Something's
very fishy and very very sad.
Speaker 3 (15:20):
Sports Wise, the Texans beat the Bills twenty three to
nineteen last night. I don't know what was going on
with those shiny red helmets, but they looked very college foot.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
I didn't see any event I was working. Chargers have
a bye week.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
This weekend, the Rams will host the Buccaneers prime time
Sunday Night Football, Whoa.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
And Monday Monday Night Football Niners. Anybody, no one, no one?
Speaker 2 (15:45):
Brock's back. Yeah, okay, they better put it together. He
better be the Brock of the past if they're gonna
make a push. We are talking about.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
Eric Swalwell has now jumped into the race for governor
of California. He joins a very long list of Democrats,
including Tom Steyer, the billionaire who also announced earlier this
week that he's going to get involved. There is a
rift that aped rifted, a rift that appears to be
forming between former mayor, former Assembly speaker, former Assemblyman Antonio
(16:20):
Viragosa and Javier Bessera, former attorney general, former Secretary of
Health and Human Services. And this all stems from the
corruption charges against Dana Williamson. Dana Williamson we mentioned, former
chief of staff for Governor Newsom. She had worked with
several campaigns, but been a lobbyist for different Jery Brown,
(16:43):
for Jerry Brown she worked for. She's been around Sacramento
for some time and is now facing federal charges of
corruption for, among other things, taking money out of a
dormant account linked to Besara, linked to Bessera. So Antonio
via is trying to saddle Besara with this by suggesting
(17:05):
he must have known something. This is an ad that
via Ragosa, right, you shouldn't even say an advertisement. It's
a video that's been put out by the Via Regosa
campaign that targets Bessera, and it's a series of news
shows questions being asked of Besara.
Speaker 9 (17:21):
Was this really a surprise because there was reporting in
April of last year identifying these ten thousand dollars payments
that were coming out of a dormant campaign account of yours.
Speaker 5 (17:32):
How are you not aware of that?
Speaker 3 (17:34):
For someone with that much experience and who's not running
for governor to not have a better idea of where
the money's going is a little It's concerning.
Speaker 9 (17:41):
Don't you have to sign off on campaign finance documents
when they're reported to the Secretary of State's office?
Speaker 4 (17:46):
So was his account and his employee.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
It's hard to run away from that, the director of ethics.
So there's a couple of things about that.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
Specifically, they don't allow Javier Basra to answer these questions.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
It's just the.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Questions who reporters. I'm just listening to this. This is
Nikki Lorenzo. Lorenzo out of the Sacramento fest one there.
Speaker 3 (18:06):
Yeah, So it brings to mind a couple of things
about this governor's race going forward, that very few of
these people have a clean record. You know, I'm not
saying that Besara is guilty of anything. I'm just saying
that this is a anchor that's going to be hanging
around his neck as he continues the run for governor.
(18:27):
So he doesn't have a clean record. But if you
have a clean record, you don't have the name recognition necessarily,
because if you look at the people and you mentioned
Katie Porter, well she has the name recognition, but she
has this anchor around her neck, which is her own
behavior towards her staff members. You've got Antonio Viragosa, but
(18:48):
you have an anchor around the neck of First of all,
he's been out of the spotlight for years. And even
if he does have a relatively positive a net pose
that have when it comes to his political experience, a
lot of people accuse him of less than effective governance
(19:09):
when he was mayor of the City of Los Angeles.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
Think of Tony Thurman.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
He may be clean as the supertendor of public construction,
but nobody knows who he is.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
Well, I mean, he's pulling so low. And remember Thurman
and Bianco, they went at each other. Thurman went after
Bianco challenged him to a debate. I'm not sure if
you remember that. That was last year. And meanwhile, Bianco's
numbers are quote surging. If you will, and Thurman is
pulling really lowly.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
Yeah. Tom Steyer comes in. He's got the billionaire tag
around his neck. I mean, I know he's kind of
an anti billionaire billionaire, but yes, I interviewed him.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
This week actually, and and you know, I asked him
about how much the passage, the landslide passage of Prop
fifty plate into his announcement to run.
Speaker 2 (19:57):
He was a big, big supporter. Yeah, I spent.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
Thirteen million dollars of his own money to back Prop fifty.
Of course, that's the redistricting proposition. And he says that
had nothing to do with it. This is what he
says to me. He says that I've been long fighting Trump.
It's like swallwell, I've been long fighting Trump for a
for many years, and this, the landslide victory, just proves
(20:22):
that people want to fight Trump, and so I'm going
to do that. But he says the number one issue
in the state is affordability.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
That argument of I've been fighting Trump for a long time,
is it rings hollow to me? Not because he hasn't.
I mean, I'm sure he probably has, But is it
a high profile Is it a high profile fight? If
Trump doesn't know that he's being fought against. I don't
(20:52):
know if that makes any sense. If the Seattle Mariners
claim that the New York Yankees are their biggest rival,
do the Yankees even pay attention? Right, it doesn't seem
like Tom Steyer is doing anything that I can recall. Now, again,
that's not to say that he hasn't, but it reminds
me of when Jesse Smolett went on with Robin Roberts
(21:14):
on ABC and claimed the reason that he was finger
quotes attacked by MAGA was because he brings it hard
to forty five. The Jesse Smolett is somehow leading the
charge against Donald Trump, which didn't ring true.
Speaker 5 (21:30):
It didn't.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
There's a well, I think he's just trying to hang
his hat on this, right.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
And Steyer, like Swallowell, had an unsuccessful bid for the
White House in twenty twenty as well, So he's just
trying to get the name recognition out there.
Speaker 2 (21:46):
And he's up in the Bay Area. I interviewed him.
He was in San Francisco at the time.
Speaker 1 (21:51):
It was over zoom, of course, but he's in the
fight and we'll see what his money does because then
the big I think of another billionaire who has no
entered the race yet but very well could, and that's
Rick Caruso.
Speaker 2 (22:04):
Uh, when is that going to happen? I mean, granted, I.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
Mean will he Will he run for La mayor or
will he push for Sacramento? I think I think. I
think he's going to announce a run for Sacramento.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
I do too, And I think his money obviously gives
him a little bit more of a buffer than other
candidates in that he can self finance like sisements, like
Tom Steyers. Yes, and we'll see, but Caruso is going
to run as a Democrat, which again goes back to
what you said in the last segment, which is it
just waters down and you know create you're up to
(22:40):
thirteen candidates right now.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
Yeah, we're gonna have to consolidate.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
I need a kids table again.
Speaker 3 (22:46):
Gary and Shannon will continue marloteas is in for Shannon
today and Deborah Mark, you have me to talk more.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
I see that you're still chewing. I'm chewing.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
Okay, we'll talk about the weather. So gosh, look at
a little sun peeking out.
Speaker 4 (23:00):
We're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
Am six forty.
Speaker 3 (23:07):
A couple things for the show today, Housekeeping, Housekeeping. We
are going to be giving away four pack of one day,
one park tickets to either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
You get to choose. We'll do that later in the show.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
We are standing by for what will be a meeting
between President Trump and New York City's mayor elect Zoran
Mom Donnie at the White House today. That could be
some fireworks ready for Thanksgiving, could be, could be. It's
also Friday, which means we do what you learned this
week on the Gary and Shannon Show. So leave us
a talkback message and let us know what you learned
(23:42):
while you were listening to the show this week, including
how pathetic I am. I want no stop it, but
you just when you're listening on the app, there's a
little red button. It's got a white microphone on it.
You just tap that. That's how we get all these
messages coming. Thirty seconds to do so eighty seconds ish.
Speaker 2 (24:01):
Okay, I like that. It's a heart out.
Speaker 3 (24:04):
And you gotta wait for it to tell you it
starts recording. Some people get the front end cut off.
Speaker 8 (24:09):
Oh right, well, that could be work in your favor
and now, yeah, now you get a little indication of
what it's like to work under a timeline, a deadline,
if you will, a heart out at thirty.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
Seconds, although what you do here in radio there really isn't.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
I mean, yes, there is a heart out for Oh.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
You're gonna tell me now how TV people are better
than radio people.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
No, I'm gonna tell you. I'm going to tell you
how I envy your time. I envied this. That's why
I love doing radio.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
That's why I'm here and extending my day by like
some six hours because I love radio because you.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
Don't get wrapped. There's no one in your ear epping you.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
And on television there is quote ad lib time. Sure,
and usually I'm not kidding you, that's fifteen seconds to
ad lib for two people that app So that means
you have to have something to say very concisely and
don't mess it up.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
Yeah you go. Gosh, never thought i'd see a squirrel
water skill. That's exactly right.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
Yeah, a squirrel water ski wrap it up time.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
Yes, that's exactly what we deal with, exactly.
Speaker 3 (25:19):
Nancy Pelosi, she announced her retirement, but there is an
app that has shown how accurate.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
And what's the word successful?
Speaker 3 (25:30):
She has been as a stock dr moneymaking just getting started.
This app is called Autopilot, and it was just launched
in twenty twenty. Yeah, by a guy who, if I'm
not mistaken, had lost a.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
Job in the tech world.
Speaker 3 (25:44):
It's now got a billion dollars under its management, three
million downloads. It just raised another eight million dollars to
grow and expand its physical presence from San Francisco to
New York City.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
And yes, Joseph says the guy who started it.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Yeah, he's a thirty year old founder of Autopilot and
what's grown to become the Pelosi tracker on social media.
He says, our mission is the same, It's to find
the best investors and showcase them all in an effort
to bring more transparency to the broader institutions.
Speaker 3 (26:15):
Now, the assumption is the kind of the unspoken assumption here,
is that members of Congress and other people that he
would be following have some inside knowledge somehow.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
About what's going on trading.
Speaker 3 (26:29):
He started seeing in twenty twenty that Speaker Nancy Pelosi
again at the time, was making trades. He launched a
Twitter account to monitor her moves. That was called at
Pelosi tracker. The move, he said, was initially was just novelty.
He wasn't in it for the political hit or anything
like that, but was shocked by the timing of some
(26:49):
of her trades and said, I didn't realize how good
she actually was and how big of a problem this
actually is.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
So among her fortuitous trades, Pelosi bought Tesla right before
that infrastructure bill with EV credits was proposed. She invested
in Nvidia before the Chips Act that gave billions to
chip makers past, and she sold Google before the DOJ
launched so that investigation. So, in other words, her portfolio
(27:21):
consistently outperformed top hedge fund managers. Of course, the Pelosi
camp completely denies that she has any inside knowledge to anything.
Speaker 3 (27:29):
Yeah, A spokesperson for her said, speaker Pelosi does not
own any stocks and she has no prior knowledge or
subsequent involvement in any transactions.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
Now, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (27:41):
How that is possible, although you could argue maybe that
she owns mutual funds the shares in mutual funds that
are made up of stocks, so she may not. I
mean to me, that's an incomplete statement from the Pelosi
camp that you're leaving out some details.
Speaker 2 (28:01):
Does she not own.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
Any stocks or does she own them through mutual funds?
Speaker 2 (28:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (28:07):
Again back to semantics, and it matters in this case.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
So they are going to be like I said, they're
keeping this even after she retires. They are going to
keep the autopilot app available, and that they will at
this point keep up the Pelosi tracker.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
Yeah for a few us, but they call it's kind
of the end of an era. It's turning the chapter
on the political stock trading movement. They call her the
queen of it all. We're losing the queen.
Speaker 2 (28:32):
Up next, we'll get into swamp Watch.
Speaker 3 (28:34):
Also, if you're planning to get your kid a toy
with some AI built into it, be aware that that
thing is the devil.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
It is Satan incarnate in a Teddy Bear. Okay, I'm
taking notes. Gus a new mom.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
Gary and Shannon will continue Marla's in for Shannon today.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
