Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Gary and Shannon and you're listening to KFI
AM six forty, the Gary and Shannon Show on demand
on the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
What do you hum think about?

Speaker 1 (00:14):
That's not the way to start off the Massive twelve
o'clock hour.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
It's not with them.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
Hmm.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Well, I don't want to give it too much power,
because if we give it too much power, then it
owns us, It controls us.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Okay, what is it the Massive twelve o'clock hour? Oh?

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Oh, it already owns us. It's owned us for years.
It runs this show twelve o'clock.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Take me in the button, call me Charlie. What else
is going on? Time for what's happening?

Speaker 3 (00:43):
One particularly breaking story is this shooting that took place
down in South la this morning. A Deputy US Marshall
is one of two people injured while serving a warrant
with ICE today. That happened in about eight point fifty two.
The Deputy Marshall another person wounded, although the injuries were
thought to be non life threatening. ICE agents were serving

(01:06):
a warrant near East twentieth and Washington just before nine.
Whenever this happened, there is an expectation we would see
an update from officials some point in the next hour
or so.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
We haven't gotten a whole lot of new information.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
The lovers still in the news because French law enforcement
officials racing against the clock to find the thieves who
carried out that brazen daytime heist. They shattered a window,
stole eight pieces of priceless jewelry from the museum, escaping
on the motor bikes. The museum is closed, by the way,
it will remain close until they find these people.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Apparently.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Yeah, they said that thieves executing this type of heist
typically dismantle or melt down the stolen goods as soon
as possible, within hours to cut down on the chances
of being caught, which makes it harder to trace the
items back to the museum.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
Also diminishes the value unfortunately, Yeah, because at that point
you're just selling it for parts. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Dodgers, of course, have made their way to the World
Series and now they know they will be taking on
the Toronto Blue Jays. The Blue Jays punch their ticket
with the Game seven win or the Mariners last night
and the comeback to the forefront. Bad guy George Springer
is going. He hit the three run home run to
put him ahead last night. He's coming back. It's Toronto's

(02:29):
first World Series appearance since nineteen ninety three. But forget
not George Springer was a member of those twenty seventeen
Astros that beat the Dodgers.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
The cheaters are they going to be bringing a trash
can to beat alongside the dugout for pitches? Tyl I
get chills when I think about the Dodgers pitching lineup.
Tyler Glass now is the worst one, and Tyler Glass
now this is incredible. Blake Snell, Yama Moto show, Hey

(03:02):
aces the last few weeks and they're all healthy, and
then you've got Otani at the plate, I mean, unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Stop it untop it down.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
An Anaheim Angels are set to name Kurt Suzuki as
their next manager. The official word has not come from
the Angels, but New York Post MLB dot Com have
all been reporting this. Suzuki is a former catcher, of course,
who was working as a special assistant in the team's
front office since he got out of the game.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
He did apparently draw some interest.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
We're not sure if he actually interviewed for the job
up in San Francisco. Also, TMZ is standing by their story,
even though the White House has said it's not true
that Donald Trump is said to be considering commuting sentence
Ditty's sentence. As early as this week, according to a source,

(03:51):
the President was vacillating. Told that some of the White
House staff have been urging the President not to commute
the sentence. But according to the source, Trump will do
what he wants right now. Did He's serving a fifty
month five zero month prison sentence for violating the Man Act,
served thirteen months already and with credit, could get out

(04:12):
in about two years. But obviously if the sentence is commuted,
it doesn't wipe away the offense, but it does end
the time in prison.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Kevin Fetterline's new book continues to capture headlines. Britney Spears's
ex husband, the father of her two boys, just airing
out all the dirty laundry, and not just about Brittany,
about some mother early two thousand princesses. He says a
phone call with Brittany, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Loewen was
the final straw in their marriage. This is his newly

(04:44):
released memoir called You Thought You Knew and he alleges
that Brittany prioritize parting with her friends taking care of
their overtaking care of their kids. He writes, I was
in Miami for work, trying to stay focused on my commitments,
and I got a call. First of all, s on
that statement, I was in Miami for work trying to

(05:04):
stay focused are words that nobody has ever said. But anyway,
we'll continue. He says that he gets his phone call
and it was her, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Loewen on
the line, drunk as hell, begging me to come over.
I could hear Preston and Jade and the Suns crying
in the background. It had to be three or four

(05:25):
in the morning. That call was the final straw, he said.
He said, I'd already seen the photos and the tabloids, tabloids,
the ones of her with them all night out parting
at Paris's place in Malibu. But here hearing my kids
crying while she was doing God knows what that was.
It Like Kevin Fetterline is the father of the year.

(05:46):
I mean maybe he is, but I don't know. I
don't have any proof of that either. He was one
of my dancers right, Yeah, I'm in Miami. You're twenty four.
You're in Miami, trying to focus.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
Get out of here, Get out of getting all of
the cocaine. That's what you're concentrating on. The La City
Council is expected to have final approval on an ordinance
that would create a metal and wire theft reward program.
City officials are hoping this will curb crime against public infrastructure,

(06:19):
such as copper wire theft. Last week, they voted in
favor of the ordinance. The matter of scheduled for a
second vote today, and if approved, goes before Mayor Bass
for her consideration. Rewards would be offered for information involving
the theft of city plaques, tombstones, statues, light standards, and
copper wire, and the theft of any metal that was

(06:41):
linked to the sixth Street Bridge.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Remember how great that thing was going to be.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
Yeah, for that sixth Screen bridge was just going to
be iconic, and it has shown up in some car
commercials and some TV shows.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
But they have to all pay.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
For their own lighting because all of the lighting on
the bridge has been stolen, re stolen over and over
and over again.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
All right, when we come back, we will get an
update from another memoir, this one written by Virginia Guffrey.
Remember her, she was kind of at the center of
the Prince Andrew partying with Jeffrey Epstein stories.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Boy, she's reaching out from the grave and just.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
I was gonna say, she is no longer with us,
but very well alive.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
In this memoir, Gary and Shannon will continue.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
Also, a chance for you to win one thousand dollars
is coming up right after this.

six seven's in the Bible, but oh my goodness.

Dollars i'd just like to clear up MY i knew
versus old. CONFUSION i refer to The galatians situation As
paul's letter to The. Galatians it Was. Paul it wasn't
really you don't really refer to it as The. Galatians
it's Like paul's.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Chapter right wrote. THOSE i know.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
That it wasn't just the. One there's The, corinthians for,
Example paul wrote to. Them, yeah so, ANYWAY i have.

Speaker 5 (10:26):
THAT i.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Just WHEN i think Of New, TESTAMENT i don't Have
galatians just floating around LIKE i would Have paul Or
john Or luke Or.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
MARK i would just think of it as.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
Letters letters churches in those different cities Exact glacias.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
EXACTLY i think of that as like The paul, umbrella
got it, Right, Yeah i'm glad we cleared that one.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
Up church of Corinth, no No, corinthians, right, yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
Yeah but but you Say paul's letter to The, corinthians
you don't just Say. CORINTHIANS i mean sometimes you, do
like Two corinthians.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
Exactly there is a new book that's coming. OUT i
think it's actually today that it hits the, bookstores and
it is an, awful unfortunate retelling of the life Of Virginia.
Jeffrey she is the probably the highest profile accuser when
it comes To Jeffrey, epstein at least in terms of

(11:23):
the details with which she came.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
Forward this is interesting BECAUSE i got an alert on
my phone That andrew was now not affiliated with any
of the terms used in the royal.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Family, yeah they stripped him of like the, type the.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
Title he's still THE consumerti prince just by birthright, right
but he's no longer The lord.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
And majesty of The inner working in the stones and.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
Yeah all that and that was like last, WEEK i
want to, say and then this week this comes out
with these, bombshells like she says That Prince andrew believed
having sex with me was his, birthright and said That
Prince andrew guessed her age correctly then told her my
daughters are just a little younger than.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
You when she was, SEVENTEEN i, think she.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
Says she vividly recalled the moment that that now infamous
photo of her And andrew was. Taken she wrote about
running to grab Her Kodak funsaver camera and knowing my
mom would never forgive me IF i met someone as
famous As Prince andrew and didn't pose for a.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
Picture he always said it was, doctored as Did Galaine. Max,
yeah that it was.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
Fake but by the time that picture came out for public,
consumption OR i should say in the time that it came,
out there wasn't a whole lot of good quality photo
shopping going, on at least not to the point where
you could you would be able to say that in

(12:58):
public and not have somebody come forward prove. It she
talked about the potential if you remember the interview he
did In november of twenty, nineteen we played the cuts
from it where he would say things LIKE i couldn't
have been having sex with that young girl BECAUSE i
was unable to sweat that kind of. Thing just an

(13:19):
Awful he looked awful in that, interview she claims Does
Virginia geoffrey that her legal team actually considered the possibility
of Calling fergie Calling Sarah, ferguson as well as their
Daughters Princesses beatrice And, eugenie as witnesses in her legal.
Case one of the things that came out in that

(13:40):
interview was he said he could not have been having
sex with her In march of two thousand and one
because he was at a Pizza express With Princess beatrice
on the day in, question and they were literally going
to call his wife and daughters in order to try
to blow holes in his.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
Alibi she wrote about receiving money From Prince andrew in
the settlement of her legal case against. Him she did
not divulge how much money she was, paid but wrote
that her lawyers were going to ask for the, moon
and it agreed it had to be more than mere.
Money the final sum is believed to have been about
twelve million. Dollars she referred to reports that his, mother

(14:22):
The queen Of england had footed the. Bill she went
on to say in the, MEMOIR i look forward to
disseminating some of The crown's money to do some.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
Good just. Awful, yuck, yuk, yuck, yuck.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
Yuck she claims that His Prince andrew's legal team attempted
to hire trolls internet trolls to continue to harass her
even after the legal case was settled out of. Court
like you, said after casting doubt on my credibility for so,
long she, Wrote Prince andrew's team had even gone so
far as to try to hire internet trolls to hassle. Me,

(14:56):
boy he has long denied all of the accusations against.
Him he has agreed to stop using all of his
titles and, honors with the exception Of. Prince he can't
even use His Royal highness, anymore even though he is
still a. Prince so all?

Speaker 1 (15:16):
Right coming up, Next True Crime tuesday kicks. Off have
you seen or heard all the buzz About The Perfect
neighbor On? Netflix it is a true crime story told
through bodycam, footage which makes it suspenseful and gritty and,

(15:36):
grainy and a reality type fascination is attached to this as.
Well because it is real and it certainly looks like
an uncut reality. Show it's about a neighbor who doesn't
like all them kids in her neighborhood playing on the
empty lot near her, house and the altercations between her

(15:58):
and the children and the pan karance and how this
ends up in complete. Tragedy we'll tell you a little
bit about. It it's no spoiler when you start watching.
It it's pretty clear early on what the eventual outcome
of this, is but it doesn't make it any less
interesting to watch the entire.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
Thing Gary shannon will.

Speaker 4 (16:18):
Continue you're listening To gary And shannon on demand FROM
Kfi am six.

Speaker 2 (16:24):
FORTY a bunch of stories that are going on.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
Today plans are on, hold at least right, now For
President trump to sit down With russian leader Of Vladimir
putin to talk about the war In. Ukraine the meeting
had been announced last, week supposed to take place In,
budapest although a date had not been. Set the decision
was made after a call Between secretary Of State Marco
rubio and The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei lavrov Jd, Vance

(16:50):
Vice president and some other envoys have been talking optimistically
about the fragile ceasefire agreement that exists Between israel and
hamas they visit a new center In isel for civilian military.
Cooperation his questions have been lingering over this long term
plan for peace as of right now and our government's shut.
Down here we go week, four we've just entered into.

(17:11):
It The president did Host Senate republicans at The White house,
today but not for any sort of shutdown.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
Talk it was more about.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
Lunch trump is Praised republicans by, name but To Senate
democrats are expressing confidence in their. Strategy they say they
are going to keep voting against The house past bill
that would at least reopen the government until Other republicans
will reach across the island engage with.

Speaker 1 (17:38):
Them The Perfect neighbor is on, television but it is
truly a true crime story for lack of any redundancy
that we have not had on this. Show it's a
documentary about a woman In. Florida she is, white who
shot and killed her, neighbor a black mother of. Four
this happened in twenty twenty three and it's all pieced

(18:00):
together using footage from police body. Cameras the story is
the topic of True Crime.

Speaker 3 (18:08):
Tuesday the story is, true sounds, True, no it sounds made.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
UP i don't.

Speaker 4 (18:16):
Know parry And shannon present true.

Speaker 5 (18:21):
CRIME i want to add just on the emergency with
the neighbors, Children No cheff's office or any of you
guys over here with this. Lady, no we won't play
Bla sheriff's office because gus some across the, street so

(18:42):
you shouldn't be screaming and running around.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
It cool starts as this neighborhood. Dispute Apparently Susan lawrence
From june of twenty twenty.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
THREE.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
A J owens was the thirty five year old. Mother
there are four who was shot and killed By susan
back two years.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
Ago so.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
What it starts documenting and again this is no talking,
heads just two years worth of recordings of police interacting
with the neighbor the shooter in.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
Question she's sixty. Now Susan lawrence.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
And her calls she called habitually nine one one about
kids playing in the neighborhood and the neighborhood looks like
a nice possibly cul de sac, Unclear, Ocala. Florida just
kids look like they're playing out in the street and
it's almost such a welcome sight to see kids playing

(19:48):
out in the. Street that it adds another layer of
heartbreak to the story because these kids are out, there
they're playing with each. Other there's like maybe three different,
families three or four different families of kids are all
playing together other riding, bikes playing, football doing stuff that
kids should be. Doing they're not you, know they're not knocking.
Fortnite i'm just saying you could knock. Fortnite they're not

(20:11):
isolated in their hovels on their screens with their headphones,
on not interacting their kids being. Kids and it's there's
no spin on this because it is just bodycam, footage
so it's not like she's spun.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
As being the Ultimate.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
Karen that's what they end up calling, her by the,
way the families is That karen over, There oh she
yelled us?

Speaker 2 (20:33):
Again who yelled at?

Speaker 1 (20:34):
You? Oh The karen over, there the quintessential name for
the woman who is zero fun and highly involved with
rules and making sure no one else has any fun
and the hoa. Lady all of the you, know all
the cliches rolled into one and in her repeated calls

(20:57):
to the police to have them come, out and so
the at, least we routinely are coming out to this,
neighborhood and she's, like it's the kids, again and they're
screaming and they're, hollering and she starts saying things that
the kids are. Saying the kids said they were going
to beat my, ass or the kids said this or,
that and the kids buy and large are black and
this is a white woman has to be, said and

(21:18):
just the facts of the. Case but when the cops
go out to talk to these kids and the kids
are talking amongst themselves and, stuff the kids don't use
language like, this the, kids and they're not on their
best behavior in front of the cops.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
Either you can tell that they're, uh they're. Kids they're
just having a good.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
Time they're not backtalking the, cops but they're also Not eddie.
Haskelling their interaction with the. Cops you can kind of
see who these kids are when the cops are not
around by the bodycam, footage and they don't seem to
be the kids that would be threatening anybody's.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
Life the story of how they came to all of this,
FOOTAGE i thought was pretty interesting thing as, well and
how they came to even deciding that they were going
to turn this into a documentary was pretty. Interesting it
is up for An, oscar BUT i mean not up
for an, oscar but it. Is it does qualify for
An oscar because they did release it in theaters as.

Speaker 1 (22:14):
Well pretty early on the mom that was killed THE,
gk she goes by a J she, says you, know
and this is probably maybe ten minutes into the, documentary
and it's available On, netflix by the, way it started last,
week but it was out last.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
Week but she, says you, Know i'm never out. Here
i'm never.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
Outside when the cops, respond she's, like but my, kids
they said that they're to have problems with. This they
like the guy that lived there before this. Woman he'd
let them play football in this empty grass area next
to the place where she's. Living and it wasn't a.
Thing AND i don't usually. Cut she doesn't want anything
to do with the. Drama she wants her kids to
go outside and. Play she just came home from. Work

(22:54):
she doesn't want to deal with this woman across the,
street and she is the one who ends up being
shot and killed in this all. Altercation when the woman the,
neighbor essentially takes a piece of property from one of
the kids and she just goes over to get. It
but it's just it is it's madness about, grouchy grumpy

(23:15):
old neighbor who doesn't want the kids laughing and, playing
and it just it. Escalates and the thing with this
woman is she looks like your average just white woman In,
florida middle, aged living her life. Alone wants to just be,
alone and that's what she wants to, do and she's
annoyed by the. Kids but you can see her behavior,

(23:37):
escalate you can see the anger grow inside, her and
you can see how she starts trying to manipulate the,
cops and it's just a it's an exercise in. Sociology.

Speaker 4 (23:49):
Really you're listening To gary And shannon on demand FROM

Speaker 7 (25:28):
Shannon It's tina down in. OC i Watched The Perfect

Speaker 7 (25:48):
DOCUMENTARY i think everybody should take a look and watch.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
It have a good. One plus that's. Stay, yeah that's the.

watch but you should watch.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
It remember that. Show, yeah AND i didn't want to watch.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
IT i didn't, either but like you should just to
know how things can evolve or.

Speaker 2 (26:09):
Devolve and they're absolutely.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
Right that's the part that sneaks up on you is
it's kind of suspenseful and you're, thinking, well how did
things get so?

Speaker 2 (26:19):
Bad how it was there breaking?

Speaker 1 (26:20):
Point and you're just kind, of you, know going through
all the footage in your head is it's being shown to.
You and then when when the shooting happens and it's
the kids and it's the kid's, reaction it just gut,
punches just gut punches. It it you get, shocking like
sneakily emotional of over this or or you should it

(26:41):
should be very hard to take at some, point but you,
know the police are, like what were you? Thinking you,
know somebody brought it up during the. Funeral it's, like
how do you fire through a locked? Door your door's.
Locked how do you say your fear for your? Life
and then you're armed and you're going to fire through
a Lot you don't know it's on the other side
of that. Door you, know if it was a kid

(27:01):
on the other side of that.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
Door the person who made the, film or at least
the head of, it Was Geta. GENDBIER i think it's
HOW i say her name, specifically but said that she
got involved the night that Aj owens was, killed immediately
jumped into action to try to help the, family and
they stepped in to sort of be liaisons with the

(27:22):
media in this. Case Benjamin, crump a civil rights attorney
who's made his name very prevalent in the last several,
years had an associated guy Named Anthony thomas who sued
the police department through The freedom Of Information act to
get all of this bodycam. Footage and they weren't necessarily

(27:43):
looking at it in order to make a. Movie they
were doing it to Help ajy's family find stuff that
they might make sense to kind of peace out for
the news coverage that was coming, up and when they
realized they had all of. This they had the police
body camera, footage they had detective, interviews they had camera

(28:05):
footage from doorbell, cameras they had cell phone.

Speaker 2 (28:08):
Footage, yeah that all of it can.

Speaker 3 (28:10):
There they could tell, everything and not just the aftermath
of the. Shooting and obviously this family that's devastated that
they lost their, mom but the showing the community and
the way that it existed before this. Incident now they
Also she also says in an interview that she wanted
this to be a to change gun laws or the

(28:35):
very least the standard ground laws that, exist claiming that,
O'calla florida was sort of the the birthplace of the
standard ground. Laws did you feel like they that they
were able to do, THAT i, mean that they were
able to bring that up as a potential reason or
a way to get people to you.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
Know, YEAH i, mean but it's it's all the, evidence
the body of evidence that she was kind of taken
the fight to the.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
Kids you, know she was asking for more fight she
was well and then claiming that she felt.

Speaker 1 (29:05):
Threatened she was CLEARLY i mean one of the things
that Was the takeaway from the filmmaker is why didn't
they bring a social? Worker clearly this woman was not
the picture of mental. Health clearly this had the propensity
to explode the way that it. DID i didn't know
that the police knew how many firearms she had in her,

(29:27):
home or weapons that she had in her. HOME i
don't know what knowledge they had of. THAT i don't
remember that watching, it but there was an argument that
they knew that she was, armed and she was, crazy
and she had a problem with a bunch of just kids,
playing and that was enough for them to maybe bring
in somebody to find out what was going on behind
closed doors or inside her.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
Head before it got to, this all, Right John kovelchow
was coming up.

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
