Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Gary and Shannon and you're listening to KFI
AM six forty, the Gary and Shannon Show on demand
on the iHeartRadio range. Is such a nice day, such
a nice time of year to hear the birds out
there doing their things bring into summer. A big night
for the big Dumper. Could you imagine if that was
your nickname, Big Dumper? I don't want to ask how
one gets the nickname big Dumper, but here we are.

(00:23):
Mariners catcher cal Rally won his first All Star Home
Run Derby after leading the Big leagues in long balls
going into the break. First catcher to ever win the
home run Derby and first I believe switch hitter to
win as well. And how great for the Mariners. What

(00:44):
a great pr moment. I mean, they're not completely in
the dumpster. I think they're five games out of first
in the Al West, but what a great story for
the Seattle Mariners. This was a guy who advanced from
the first round on a tiebreaker by less than an
inch over the a Brent Rooker. He reached the All
Star Break with a major league leading thirty eight home runs.

(01:06):
So this is what he do. He's the second Mariners
player to take the title. Who was the first name?
One other Mariners player that you can think of, Ken
Griffy Junior won three times.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
They say that.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
He Big Dumper, as he is known, was pitched to
by his father, a former coach at Tennessee in Western Carolina,
and his younger brother Todd did the catching. I love
how they bring in people for the home run derby.
You know, I heard Rogan and Rodney at Cala C
yesterday talking about them. Was it yesterday or maybe the
day before? No, it was yesterday. They were talking about

(01:44):
the home run derby and they were saying that, you know,
sho Hey a Tani, Aaron Judge, some big names that
are not doing it. You know, show hey a Tani,
he's a two way player taking one hundred high velocity
swings like that.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
It's just not a good idea.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
And is there incentives to make these guys play. You
don't want to force them to play, do you. You
don't want to force an Aaron Judge or shohe Atani
to play in a competition like this. This is the
kind of competition where you want to get new names
out there. You want to hear about a guy nicknamed
the Big Dumper, Do you not?

Speaker 3 (02:20):
I do?

Speaker 2 (02:20):
I know.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
I woke up thinking this morning that I wanted to
hear about a guy nicknamed the big Dumper. All right,
we talked about it yesterday, and this is a story
that is not going away. And Donald Trump is fuming
about this. Because Donald Trump, say what you will. He
controls his own narrative. That's very popular these days. Control

(02:42):
your own narrative. He does that. He has made bread
and butter out of controlling his own narrative for decades.
He creates his own spin. He is his own pr department,
he is his own branding department, and he knows how
to control the media, control and news cycle. He's a
brilliant at it. But he is losing control of this story.

(03:07):
The Jeffrey Epstein saga seems to be beyond his powers
at this point. And now he's got a family member
in Laura Trump, an up and comer in the Republican Party.
She's even saying that he needs to show more transparency
in the handling of the investigation into the convicted sex defender.

(03:28):
Jeffrey Epstein, You've got Laura Trump, a person in your
own familial circle. You've got all of the gen Z
Maga people at their Turning Point convention over the weekend,
booing Pam Bondi, your Attorney General's decision not to release
any more Epstein information. This is a real problem and
it's not going anywhere. We'll talk about it because now

(03:50):
the Democrats are getting involved. The Democrats are trying to
force the release of the Epstein files, just days after
Pam Bondi came out and said there's no they're there,
there is no client list, a lot of people in
Trump's world, and now the Democrats that are saying there's
much more than what's being talked about it.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
We'll get into it when we come back.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
The Epstein Files. What is involved in the Epstein files.
This is a story that is not going away, and
it is fueled by the magabase people who want answers.
We can have fun with the far right conspiracy theories

(04:38):
that you'll find on Twitter if you want to find them.
You can about what these files could possibly entail. They believe,
some of these people believe that it is a vast
cover up of the Obamas and the Clintons, engaging in
child's sex trafficking, the potential that Michelle Obama is a man.

(05:00):
It gets pretty crazy in that algorithm if you find
your way there.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
But let's not dealing crazy.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
Let's just deal in the facts of how Trump got elected.
If you read Jade Vance's book like I did. I
read it in twenty sixteen. I read it right after
Trump got elected. Hillbillyology, great book. The movie doesn't do
it justice, and in JD Vance's book he outlines it perfectly.

(05:32):
He outlines how many people in this country feel disenfranchised.
They feel like the power elite of the coasts run
the country and they're tired of it. The guys like
Gavin Newsom in California, the guys like I don't know,
the Cuomos in New York, Biden's in New England. That

(05:55):
the moneyed families and the people who were birthed with
the past for success have always run this country. And
you know what, they don't know what we want, and
we're tired of the fact that they get their voices
heard and we don't. We're tired of the fact that
our factories have been shut down and we're out of work,

(06:15):
and we are left to rely on things like street
heroine to deal with our back pain because we can't
afford oxyconton. There's a number of people who feel left
out and they feel lied to, and they feel lied
to by politicians, and you know what, they're not wrong.
I feel lied to by politicians. When a politician tells
the truth, I'm surprised, whoa where did that come from.

(06:39):
There's a guy I can trust, and this is the
same group now that is saying we want transparency. Natalie
Winters is a war room correspondent. She is twenty four,
and she's a protege of Steve Bannon. Let's just say

(07:01):
Natalie is dialed into the Maga Young base, the future
of the Republican Party, you could argue, and she says
people are really upset at the outright dismissal of the
Epstein files. She says, I have a good pulse on
these people, and I've never seen such sustained wavering. She

(07:22):
summed up the movement's sense of betrayal this way, and
I'll quote her here directly. I just think it's frankly
very grifty to have spent your entire career promoting even
if it weren't the Epstein thing directly, but the idea
that there is this deep state, the idea that there's
this unelected class of bankers, corporation, countries, intel agencies, blah

(07:47):
blah blah. And then finally you have the power to
expose it. And either you're not because there's nothing there,
in which case makes you a liar and she says,
I don't believe that, or you're ineffective, or you're compromised.
Trump rose to office on the backs of the people
who feel disenfranchised by the power elite, and now those

(08:09):
people want the power elite exposed. They want the Epstein list.
They do not want to stand for someone who's going
to cover up child rape, because they really believe that's
in the files. One person close to President Trump conceded
that even by Sunday, as this was reaching a fever
pitch online at the Turning Point convention elsewhere, that the

(08:33):
President had yet to fully grasp how deep and wide
the discontent was because he doesn't spend much time on
the Internet, where the Epstein conspiracy theories play out. He
does post to truth Social all the time, big presence there,
but he's a seventy nine year old man His media
diet consists of cable, news, print, newspapers, and what he

(08:53):
wants to post on Social and True Social. Coming up next,
the Republican lawmakers have blocked a move by Democrats to
force the release of the Epstein files. This thing is
moving around the desks of Washington. Now, we'll tell you
where that stands when we come back.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
We are following all the stories for you here at KFI.
Coming up when Michael Monks joins me for our Michael
Monks Local Power Hour at ten.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
I don't know. I can't say that without smiling and chuckling.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
The number of people living on the streets has dropped.
Yesterday we talked about how the homeless count was going
to come out yesterday afternoon.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
It did.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
He'll give us the answers there. News this morning was
that ICE declares millions of undocumented immigrants ill ineligible for
bond hearings.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
What does that all mean. We'll dive into that as well.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
And if you woke up this morning wanting to know
about the history of the crunch Rap Supreme, I have
it for you. Yes, we will deliver that to you
in the twelve o'clock hour. So do what you need
to do to be ready to hear that information in
the twelve o'clock lunch hour. I don't want you to
be mad at me because you're not prepared with food.
As we get in to the history of the beautiful,

(10:17):
big and beautiful grunt trap, we do have true Crime
Tuesday coming up as well. Been talking about it since
yesterday about three teenagers who almost got away with murder
and then police found their Google searches. Google searches get
a lot of people, and I'm still shocked to this day,

(10:37):
like at the advent of this, when people started getting
caught by the searches on their phones. You know, you
go back to like Casey Anthony, remember that trial that
had to have been what ten years ago now if
not more, And you heard about what she was searching
after her little girl was missing, And how do you
cover up a bought in things like that? That all

(10:59):
comes back to buy. Yeah, nobody knew, you know, fifteen
twenty years ago that your Google searches could be found
and then used against you in a court of law.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Now it's common knowledge.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
So the fact that people are still dumbasses and continue
to search for stupid s after they've committed felonies and murder. Nonetheless,
it's a little shocking to me. We're talking about the
Epstein storm, and that is a way at least one
media agency described it, because it really isn't going away,

(11:32):
and now it's taking over or it's coming back to
it's boomeranging to Washington, where Republican lawmakers have blocked, moved
to block, they're trying to block a Democratic effort to
force the release of the Epstein files. So, not only
do you have the MAGA base who's saying, hey, let's

(11:53):
uncover all the rich people's sins here. Let's not gloss
over the child rape that could exist in these files. Please,
That's why you were elected Trump. We don't trust the government.
That's why we put you there. Not only do you
have them, now you've got the Democrats seizing on that
in Washington, which could prove trouble for the Trump movement

(12:14):
if this continues to last. And a lot of people
are hardliners on this, a lot of the MAGA people
hardliners on this. Democrats have been pressing for an amendment
to cryptocurrency legislation that would have forced the release of
information and exhibits itemized in a list of evidence held

(12:35):
by the Justice Department from the twenty nineteen case against
Jeffrey Epstein. Gets a little bit in the weeds there,
but they believe that these exhibits itemized in the list
of evidence in this crypto investigation or legislation, that they
may hold some answers the exhibits may and I'll get

(12:57):
to what those are in a second. In the meantime,
Donald Trump Attorney General Pam Bondi has been the target
of a lot of ire She remember, teased a full
accounting of the Epstein evidence. This is kind of what
they ran on. One of the major things they ran
on the second time was we're going to get this
out there, including a purported client list. Earlier this year,

(13:21):
remember all of the binders and the photo ops and
Pam Bondi came out sid I've got all this information
and then there was nothing there. People got pissed off.
The mag of people got really pissed off about that.
What do you mean there's nothing there? What's in those binders?
Ten days ago she changed course. She announced that Trump
had or the administration, I should say reviewed the evidence

(13:45):
and concluded that Epstein had killed himself in jail. Also
not popular, and decided not to release the contents that
the Justice Department set included a thousand hours of video
child sexual abuse.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
This also fueled the ire of the base.

Speaker 1 (14:07):
Democrats weighed in on the issue, hoping to force a
release of the documents. California Democratic US House member Rocanna said,
the question with Epstein is whose side are you on?

Speaker 2 (14:20):
Are you on the side of the rich and powerful?
Are you on the side of the people.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
So the Democrats are trying to seize the concerns of
the magabase, which is an odd thing that's.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
Happening right now.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
But Rocana promised to introduce the amendment again and again
and again. Now. Republicans on the US House Rules Committee
voted down the amendment that would allowed Congress to vote
on whether the evidence should be released. About that evidence
that I promised to get you details on here is
micro cassettes, DVDs, computer hard drives, one CD labeled Girl

(15:01):
Picks Nude Book four and three, massage tables in green,
beige and brown. They want that released. The debacle has
pitted Bondie and Trump against the Deputy FBI director as

(15:22):
well Dan Bongino. Dan Bongino has reportedly fought with Pam
Bondy over this considered resigning. You've got the Maga megaphone people.
You've got Marjorie Taylor, Green, Tucker Carlson, Seed Bannon, Megan Kelly.
They're all calling for the release of the Epstein files.
They're hardlining at child rape. We're not covering this up.

(15:43):
That's not who we are as a people. Let's get
it out there. Trump apparently is furious at Dan Bongino.
He has not shown up for work since July ninth.
Apparently they got into a massive shouting match, Bongino and
Pam Bondy, and Trump is sided with Pam Bondi. It's
all such palace intrigue, isn't it. But what we don't

(16:07):
know about is Dan Bongino's future at the FBI. Apparently JD.
Vance was called in to mediate. My god, I'll read
this book. These will be sellers. Is this what Trump
is planning? Is he tried to increase drama to sell
the books. Anyway, We'll stay on top of this. I
don't think this story is going away, certainly not the

(16:30):
anger it seems to just be picking up. When we
come back. Trump facing off with Putin yet again. The
latest chapter in this saga involves Trump telling Putin.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
You've got fifty days to put this whole.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
War with Ukraine thing away. I ran on this. I
said it would be done when I took office. It's
not done. What are you doing? Putin seems to not care.
We'll tell you why we think that when we come back.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
Am sixty.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
Yesterday, we talked about Trump's promise to direct more weapons
in the form of NATO pitching in weapons to Ukraine,
and we talked about how that help is coming with
this fifty day ultimatum to Russia to make this war
go away. Trump wants this done before yesterday. He's getting

(17:24):
pissed off about this, and Putin is not behaving the
way that Trump anticipated he would behave. Now, every other
president of the United States knows this about Putin, and
I believe that Trump and I think that Trump did
have some extra leverage with Putin. I think they understand
each other better than Putin and Obama or Biden or

(17:47):
what have you.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
I really do.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
I think that they have a similar personality type that
leads to mutual respect.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
Shall we say, but Russia.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
Saw Donald Trump's President Trump's missive yesterday with regard to
what they're doing in Ukraine and essentially poop poot it.
Russia continued its nightly bombardment of Ukraine overnight into today.
Ukraine's Air force said Russia targeted several regions overnight with

(18:21):
two hundred and sixty seven drones. The air force had
it shot down or otherwise suppressed two hundred and forty
four drones. Let's see when it came to impact. Seven
locations were impacted by twenty three drones.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
That's a lot of numbers for the radio. I apologize
for that.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
The Kremlin spokesman said that Vladimir Putin would make a
decision about how to respond to Trump. No timetable, but
he told Dmitri Peskov told reporters during a daily briefing,
the US President's statements are very serious. Some of them
are addressed personally in Putin. We definitely need time to

(19:02):
analyze what was said in Washington. But didn't they know
this was coming? Hasn't this been said for quite some time?
Do they think that Trump is becoming a hardliner on this.
Dimitri Medeveev, the former Russian president prime minister now serving
as deputy Chairman of the Security Council over There, was

(19:24):
more forthright. He wrote on social media that the Kremlin
was unmoved by Trump's theatrical ultimatum.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
Ooh, I don't know what that.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
Relationship is, but I just got cold to get chilly,
I got chili.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
Can you hear about can you hear? Can you hear? I?

Speaker 1 (19:41):
Can hear Trump reacting to him, saying that Trump was
engaged in theatrical ultimatum. Theatrical, by the way, is a
new dramatic. I'm a big fan of it, instead of
saying don't be dramatic, don't be theatrical. Oh, it lands
so much better. It's more cutting, isn't it. The Kremlin

(20:05):
also today dismissed reports that Trump asked Zelenski if Ukrainian
forces could strike Moscow and Saint Petersburg. Oh boy, now
we're just talking crazy. You want Ukraine to strike Moscow
and Saint Petersburg. The White House confirmed to ABC News

(20:25):
that the matter was discussed.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
Oh boy.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
White House Press Secretary Caroline Lovitt poor thing, said President
Trump was merely asking a question, not encouraging further killing.
He's working tirelessly to stop the killing and end the war.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
I am.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
The more that I pay attention, the more that I
learn about what the press secretaries say. And this goes
back to Biden when Biden was just you know, barely
achieving a pulse in the White House. I don't think
they're told much about what really goes on with the
inner thinkings of what you in the Oval Office and

(21:03):
the strategy and all of that. I think that these
press secretaries are just left out there flapping in the
wind to just lie with not a lot of information.
Maybe that's plausible deniability. That way, they can say I
never lied, I just wasn't privy to what was going on.
Trump said during an Oval Office meeting with NATO Secretary
General yesterday that he would impose severe tariffs against Russia

(21:28):
and its trading partners if a ceasefire is not reached
in fifty days.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
But then it's like, okay, say.

Speaker 1 (21:36):
They come to him with a ceasefire and then they
call off the ceasefire in forty eight hours.

Speaker 2 (21:40):
We've seen that happen before as well.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
So we'll just see how many teeth are involved in this,
and well you will await Putin's response.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
That'll be fascinating to hear from him as well.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
That could come, that should come within the next forty
eight hours. All right, Well we come back Michael Monks
Michael Monk's Power Hour. He covers all local news for
KFI News, and we will have him on to talk
about the homeless count about ice, talking about immigrants ineligible
for bond hearings, among other things, including some fun. The

(22:14):
Emmy Awards nominations were announced. Who was snobbed? Was it
your favorites?

Speaker 2 (22:18):
It's all coming up next. You've been listening to The
Gary and Shannon Show.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
You can always hear us live on KFI AM six
forty nine am to one pm every Monday through Friday,
