Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Gary and Shannon and you're listening to KFI
AM six forty, the Gary and Shannon Show on demand
on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Of course, we talked about this, but Dodgers advanced to
the NLCS. They won in extra innings last night over
the Phillies two to one. The Cubs also beat the Brewers.
That forces a game five in that series. So whoever
wins tomorrow's game between the Cubs and Brewers in Milwaukee
will go on to face the Dodgers and the NLCS
starting on Monday over in the ALCS. Game five, and
(00:33):
that Tigers Mariners series will be the deciding game tonight,
and the winner of that game will go on to
play the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League. Giants
beat the Eagles thirty four to seventeen on Thursday Night football,
and the Rams are in Baltimore on Sunday morning. The
Chargers are in Miami to take on the Dolphins. Which
is why Shannon scooted out a little bit early, but
we'll hear from her a.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
Little bit later.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
It's oh before we get to swamp watch, I wanted
to update you what we know so far about the explosion.
At this Tennessee explosives manufacturer. This would be Hickman County, Tennessee,
a couple dozen miles of thirty forty miles. I believe
it is southwest of Nashville. The FBI, the TBI, the
(01:19):
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation of the ATF are all on
the scene right now. They've been told that this explosion
took place at a company called Accurate Energetic Systems, somewhere
near the Hickman County Humphreys County line, Buck Snort, McEwan,
sort of that area if you know much of Tennessee.
It specializes this company in the development, manufacturer, handling and
(01:42):
storage of products for explosives from military, aerospace and commercial
demolition markets. They said that it handles military grade TNT
and C four and something happened. The explosion was heard
for miles around and then emergency crews. We're having a
hard time getting into the scene because of secondary explosions.
(02:04):
The images that we have seen from the helicopters flying
overhead is devastating. I mean, not a wall left standing
in that. We do expect to have an update from
officials in Tennessee at some point when we do we'll
bring at least part of that to you live now
it's sign for swamp watch.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
I'm a politician, which means I'm a cheat and a liar,
and when I'm not kissing babies, I'm stealing the lollipop.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Here we got the real problem is that our leaders
are done.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
The other side never quits.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
So what I'm not going anywhere? So that now you
train the.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
Squat, I can imagine what can be and be unburdened
by what has been.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
You know, avans have always been gone at present.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
They're not stupid.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
A political plunder is when a politician actually tells the truth.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Have the people voted for you were not swamp watch,
They're all Cantona.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Well.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
The big deal internationally that has to do with Washington,
d C. Is the cease fire or agreement between Israel
and Hamas went into effect at about twelve o'clock Israel time.
Marks the end of this war that has gone on
now for just over two years. Also should bring the
hostages one step closer to returning home, all of them,
(03:16):
that is. Special Envoy Steve Whitkoff said this morning also
that Sentcom US Central Command has confirmed Israel did complete
the first phase to withdrawal that Hamas is seventy two
hours to seventy two hour window to release the hostages
had begun. We've talked with Jordanah Miller for ABC News
multiple times. She is in Jerusalem today.
Speaker 5 (03:38):
Hamas is required in the deal to turnover its weapons.
So what is the pace of it, What are the details?
Who is Hamas turning its weapons over too? And Hamas
leaders are supposed to be some of them given immunity
and safe passage out of Gaza. It's also about setting
up an interim government in Gaza. Who's on that governing council.
(03:59):
That's going to be a dispute. The international security force
that's supposed to come in. What countries around the world
are going to make up that force.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
A side note about that about who's going to make
up that force. Part of this deal is that there
will be a couple one hundred Americans that are expected
to be on the ground in Israel or in generally
in the Middle East, but not in Gaza. And I
(04:26):
mentioned that Steve Witkoff credited Scentcom with saying that Israel
had withdrawn its troops from parts of Gaza. Sentcom is
supposed to be that unit which will apparently be overseeing
as sort of an international monitor of what is going on,
and that both sides are complying with the letters of
(04:48):
the deal. And to get specific about it, Israel's presence
obviously has decreased in Gaza, but this agreement is so
specific it stipulates that Israel will still occupy not fifty percent,
or said fifty three percent of Gaza until the next
phase goes along. And as you heard Jordana Miller mentioned,
(05:11):
there there are still questions that need to be answered
and specifics that do need to be worked out about
exactly how it's going to be going from now moving forward.
President Trump is at it again. He's threatened a massive
increase in tariffs on Chinese products, and we saw the
markets kind of get a little nervous about that and skittish.
(05:34):
All update that in a second, but he said in
a truth social post, China has become very hostile on
trade matters. I was to meet President she in two
weeks at APEX in South Korea, but now there seems
to be no reason to go. The expectation was when
those two got together in South Korea that there was
going to be some sort of a full fledged trade
(05:55):
deal that was going to be worked out, but China
announced a series of new limits on the trade of
rare earths and technologies to trade them. As of right now,
the dal has held on a bit, but it is
down about a percentage point s and P five hundred
is down almost two percent. Nasdaq is down about two
and half percent. And then we don't talk much about
(06:18):
Malania Trump. She's got a new a documentary about her.
It's coming out on Amazon, I think. But she says,
she announced Friday, that's today, that she and Vladimir Putin
have had an open channel of communication regarding children impacted
by the Russia Ukraine War. She announced that she and
(06:39):
Putin have begun to cooperate with each other for the
benefit of all people involved in the war. She just
made these quick remarks at the White House today, and
she said eight children have in fact been rejoined with
their families during just the last twenty four hours. If
you remember when President Trump met with Putin in a
last in August, Trump delivered to Putin a handwritten letter
(07:08):
from the First Lady stating it's time to protect the
children impacted by the war, and he responded in writing,
said that he was willing to engage and outline the
details regarding Ukrainian children that were being she wrote, or
she said, we're residing in Russia, but we're most likely
kidnapped and taken to Russia. So when we come back,
(07:31):
what is a marriage? I want to read to you
this headline before you answer that completely. The headline is
he's gay, she's straight. They're married and expecting a baby.
I'll read that story for you when we come back.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
Stories that we are following.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
I mentioned earlier and I didn't get into this in
swamp Watch, but this is as swampy as it gets.
New York's Attorney General, Letitia James, was indicted by a
federal grand jury in Virginia charge one count of bank
fraud one count of making false statements to a financial institution.
The President had actually called on the Justice Department to
(08:22):
go after her because she went after him. This allegation,
by the way, says that she claimed a home in Norfolk,
Virginia as her second residence, which allowed her to get
favorable to terms, but then rented out that property. She
could face for that for one count of bank fraud
(08:42):
and one count of making false statements to a financial institution,
up to thirty years in prison and a million dollar
fine on each count if she is convicted. She has
vehemently denied the charges. She said they're baseless. The president's
own public statements make clear that his only goal isolitical
retribution at any cost, she said in a statement that
(09:03):
she read out on Twitter. Before we get into this
what is marriage story, we have a chance for you
to win a thousand bucks.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
Now your chance to win one thousand dollars. Just enter
this nationwide keyword on our website money. That's money m

Speaker 2 (09:36):
The keyword once again, money goes on that website. Keep
an eye on your email inbox winners. If you pick
up a thousand bucks, you're going to get a very
nice email from somebody in corporate that tells you you
won a grand all right. He's gay, she straight. They're
married and expecting a baby. That's the that's the headline
(09:57):
in an article that showed up. This one happens be
NBC's version of it, but it was also in the
Washington Post recently about I'll use the finger quotes around it,
a redefinition of what marriage is.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
Samantha Greenstone and Jacob Hoff have what they say is.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
A mixed orientation marriage, and they described their partnership as
a testament to how love and commitment can flourish beyond
traditional labels. They are just about to celebrate their first
wedding anniversary. Samantha and Jacob. She is pregnant with their
(10:39):
first child. They cross paths ten years ago or so.
At they said a callback for Fiddler on the Roof
and he said that they like to tell the story.
He heard her before he even saw her. While he's
in the lobby way for his callback. He was startled
(11:02):
by what was a sudden cackle that he said, pierce
the theater walls. That's nice, and he said, it's so loud.
People start giggling, And in my head, I'm thinking this
is a woman who doesn't give an f about.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
Anything in the best way possible.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
I know people like that, And when she left the
auditorium with other hopefuls, he knew that that blonde with
the big old energy was the person with that laugh
and said if it walked right up to her, and
he said, if they don't give you the part, they're crazy,
And she remembers thinking, if I don't get this, there
(11:38):
all out of their minds. But I'd never had someone
just up to come up to me and validate me
like that. They both got roles in the show. They
were both, they said, inseparable. They would stay up until
four in the morning. He would often crash on her couch.
Their friendship grew deeper even after the show. Ah She
(11:59):
said she always surrounded herself with gay guys. She said
she's like Lady Gaga, but that she never really felt
anything romantic in terms of any sort of attraction towards them.
Speaker 3 (12:13):
And Jacob said he also only surrounded himself.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
With gay guys for different reasons, of course, but couldn't
explain why they both had this attraction to each other.
And it may not have been a physical attraction, but
it was an interpersonal attraction. So a couple of years later,
Samantha visits an energy healer who asked if she was
(12:40):
seeing anyone. This energy healer says to Samantha, Hey, something's
going on with you right now? Are you in a
relationship with somebody? I'll tell you how she responded when
we come back. Also, guess what you learned this week
on The Gary and Shannon Show. If you're listening on
(13:02):
the app, just sit that little red microphone button, little
red button with a white microphone in it. Actually that
records your message and it comes right here. Tell us
what you learned this week while you were listening.
Speaker 4 (13:14):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
Am six forty.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
The Charger has taken on the Dolphins on Sunday morning.
You'll hear her on that broadcast that she's already on
the headed towards the airplane for the charter flight to Miami.
So you'll hear her again before the show is over.
I promise we'll also do what you learned this week
on the Gary and Shannon Show. Let us know what
you learned by sending us a talkback message, and we'll
(13:42):
also do gas Fantasy four play we'll tell you which
of the four four games Elmer has chosen this week,
to see if we can pick the winners on all
of them.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
I was mentioning this story, and.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
I don't know why it rose to the level that
it did in my head in terms of being interesting
than I think we all probably know, at least anecdotally,
no stories of people who come out later in life.
They were married, they had kids, and then realized they
had a same sex attraction. They ended their marriage in
(14:14):
many cases and started dating somebody in their own gender.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
Whatever.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
The gay guy gets married and realizes when he's forty
five he's gay and stops the marriage, whatever, All of
those things happen. I also knew a couple when I
was in college. I knew a couple. He was gay
and she was lesbian, and they got married. This obviously
before gay marriage was legal, although I guess would that
be gay marriage anyway. But they did it for tax purposes.
(14:41):
I don't know where they are now. I mean that
was twenty thirty years ago. I don't know where they are,
but they got married for tax purposes. They were nice
to each other and friends, but there was nothing else
going on. This article that's again shown up in a
couple of different places with Samantha and Jacob. She's straight,
he's gay, but they're married and they're expecting a child,
(15:03):
and they struggled to figure out why they were even
attracted to each other, and again not physically apparently, although
I guess there is some of that too the more
I read into this article. But Samantha visits what she
described as an energy healer who asked if she was
actually in a relationship with anybody? You're seeing anybody? And
(15:23):
she hesitated. Now, obviously Jacob was the guy in her life,
but they hadn't done anything at this point because she
knew that he was gay. And the energy healer tells Samantha,
whoever you're thinking of, you now share a spiritual umbilical
(15:44):
cord with that person, and Samantha said, it put into
words what I felt towards Jacob, and she said, okay,
I'm not crazy. So then she texts her friend Jacob
and asks, do you ever have feelings for me as
more than a friend? And he eventually wrote, of course
(16:05):
I do.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
I know what you mean.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
So they look around and they don't have a roadmap
for how this is supposed to go. She's straight, he's gay.
But they're falling in love question mark. And he explained,
I was afraid it wasn't going to work out because
she's a woman, And somehow it does, and yes, they
do it. They get it on, and Samantha says, we
(16:30):
have a healthy sex life, and Jacob says it's wonderful. Intimacy,
they say is not the focus of their relationship, which
by the way, is monogamous. And supposedly they will both
notice a handsome man together look at that fine piece,
(16:50):
but that's where it ends. And she says, our priority
is our connection, and she says, we focus on that feeling.
What does true love feel like? And she says me,
it's Jacob. It's a deep emotional bond. It's built on
mutual respect and admiration. And I mean, these two people
are talking. They are deeply in love with each other.
(17:15):
Jacob says, samanthas filled my life with meaning and pushes
not just me but everyone around her to be the
best version of themselves at any given time.
Speaker 3 (17:22):
That's nice.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
They have chronicled all this on social media. That's the
one aspect of this that I think is probably not necessary.
I love my wife deeply. She's filled my life with meaning.
She pushes not just me, but everyone around her to
be the best version of themselves at any given time.
(17:46):
I am echoing what Jacob says about his wife. I
say that about my wife, but I don't have to
I don't have to post that on social media for
validation in any way. Jacob says he understands why people
are curious about all of this, you know, he says,
I get it.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
I'm in a marriage with a woman.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
What might which might make you think I'm bisexual, But
he says, I am just gay, old fashioned gay, not bisexual.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
He said.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
The only group, the only species I'm attracted to. That's
not the correct use of the word species, but the
only one I'm attracted to is male, he said, with
one exception, and that's my wife.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
Again. It's it's a I've never.
Speaker 2 (18:32):
Heard of that kind of a relationship before, where they're
open about it with each other, and it's been relatively successful.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
I guess I wish the best for them.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
They haven't revealed anything about the baby's due date, but
the expectation is that the baby will come before their
first anniversary.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
She hints that she's very well along mentioning how Jacob
has to put her shoes on before they go on
a walk because their bellies hanging over.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
He's been doing the cooking. She has a bunch of
food aversions.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
That's always fun, which always making sure she stays hydrated,
make sure she stays comfortable. They said, actually, there's some question.
Other people have questioned the authenticity of this. Some have
said that it is a lavender marriage, that she is
a beard, and they insist the whole thing is monogamous.
(19:26):
It is meaningful. They don't have to fit into weird
categories or straight laced categories. And when they started telling
people about the baby on the way, there were a
couple of people who said, well, this is unfair to
the child. But Samantha says, we're only going to show
our baby love because the relationship is rooted in love.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
You have questions elmore any of it. Your face is
telling me you have questions.
Speaker 6 (19:51):
No, I mean for me, I feel like it's just, uh,
it's beautiful, but it's like just it's a beard relationship,
but like kind of glorified in a way where it's like,
oh no, it's like even more, you know, it's like
best friends, you know, you're having a kid.
Speaker 3 (20:07):
That's dope. I've seen that. I've seen the story play
out so many times.
Speaker 2 (20:11):
But in this instance, yes, he's gay, But wouldn't that
also be saying, like, I'm attracted to red heads, my
wife is not a redhead?
Speaker 3 (20:23):
Would I mean?
Speaker 2 (20:24):
It kind of if he's monogamous, they you know, they
both say they're monogamous and that they're both into each other. Yeah,
but he also has a thing for red heads?
Speaker 1 (20:35):
Is it? I mean?
Speaker 3 (20:35):
Is it? Is it exactly the same as that? Is
it almost the same as that?
Speaker 1 (20:40):
Well?
Speaker 6 (20:40):
I mean, if they're not hooking up with other people, yes,
it's just like they can talk about it and you
know and laugh about it, you know, and it's not cheating.
So it's just youah, just different conversations to be had.
But like, are they really enjoying each other's like company?
(21:00):
If like, do not into each other?
Speaker 3 (21:02):
I hope so, yeah, I hope so. But it's just
different labels, I guess, different labels. All right, you're listening.
Speaker 4 (21:10):
To Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI AM six.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
Forty Ukraine says Russia has launched a massive attack on
its capital and Kiev, triggering power cuts. One of the
ministers warned that Moscow is also striking hard at the
energy grid there.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
In and around Kiev.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the Russian forces have targeted critical
infrastructure and wounded at least nine people, five of whom
taking the hospital. The big national story that we've been
telling you about is this explosion at an explosives factory
in Tennessee. At least nineteen people unaccounted for, and the
(21:54):
expectation is that there are deaths now. When this thing
went off this morning, when it blew up, there were
several secondary explosions which kept first responders away unfortunately until
most recently.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
Is there something I can think of? Something happier? Probably
just a baseball.
Speaker 2 (22:13):
Game tonight there's a Mariners are hosting the Detroit Tigers
game five.
Speaker 7 (22:19):
Are you trying to think of a happier transition to
entertain When Brooker comes in on Fridays and we like
to talk about entertainment.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
What is your damage, Heather? This is entertaining news.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
Hi, Hi, this is a hearkening back to my childhood.
One of the greatest movies ever. I was blown away
by it when it came out, played the video game
over and over again for sure. Not a huge fan
of the sequel. Loved the arcade at Disneyland. Tron Yes,
Tron is back. Tron Aries is the second in this
(23:05):
newest sequel. And my husband I were trying to figure
out when the first version of the sequel came out,
like maybe ten fifteen years ago. It's been a long time,
right since the first Tron or am I imagining then?
Speaker 3 (23:15):
Was that long ago? Forty five years?
Speaker 5 (23:17):
No?
Speaker 7 (23:17):
No, no, no, not the first, not the first Tron
the first iteration of their yes trilogy or whatever they're building.
Speaker 3 (23:26):
It's been a long time.
Speaker 4 (23:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (23:28):
So here's the deal with tron I. My husband and
I both really loved the first one. We're that gen
X era you know of kids who just thought, what,
there's people living inside our computers.
Speaker 3 (23:38):
You gotta be kidding me.
Speaker 7 (23:40):
So we decided to go to a rave in order
to I'm sorry, woo, that's right for Gary and Shannon.
Speaker 4 (23:48):
We went to a rave.
Speaker 7 (23:48):
I put on my best orthopedic shoes and I went
out on like a Tuesday pop a couple tile and
all first. Yes, that's exact interesting case, just in testing
case I'm pretty sure we're we the only or the
oldest people there. But it was like DJ's pumping. They
had a trom light cycle there from Aries, so I
got to sit on that and like, there's nothing more
(24:11):
awkward than a middle aged lady trying to hoist herself
up on a light cycle.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
Did they have a spotter? They did, ma'am, ma'am, slow down.
Speaker 4 (24:21):
They totally did this.
Speaker 7 (24:22):
This nice man was like, let me help you. And
my husband I was like, don't stop filming. What if
I fall off, It's gonna go viral and be amazing.
So he knows his job, he knows what he SUPs
to do. So I hoist myself on this light cycle.
We go inside. There's like glow in the dark, drinks
and of course you got the like trumping and everything.
It was such a good time. We had a blast.
(24:44):
We ate some food, we had some drinks. But let's
talk about the movie. The movie itself, all right, the
movie itself. It's getting a lot of mixed reviews and
a little bit of hate online because people are like,
what is this? It doesn't make any sense, The story
is not good.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
I enjoyed it.
Speaker 7 (25:02):
I thought it was a for what. It is a
nice continuation of the story. It tells the story basically
of aries the Tron super soldier that has been created
inside the grid.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
And of course he's the malware, yes, robot.
Speaker 7 (25:22):
From the Dillinger Company that has the Dillinger Company has
created cybersecurity.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
This is who he is.
Speaker 4 (25:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (25:28):
So they present him as is played by Jared leto
Uh and they present him as the world's greatest super
you know, villain or or whatever. I software anti virus,
but they really play him up in this. If you're wondering,
they call him like the super Soldier. So, if you're wondering,
the world's greatest super Soldier is totally a beardo and
(25:50):
it is It is a little bit distracting.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
Beard. He is a beardo.
Speaker 7 (25:55):
And all I kept thinking was why does this super
soldier look like Jesus. He's got this beard and he's
got a full greasy mullet down to his shoulders. It
was beyond distracting. Maybe it's a I don't know, clear
allegory that we're just ignoring.
Speaker 3 (26:10):
It really is, it really is.
Speaker 7 (26:12):
So it's about this sort of like redemption that he
finds and he wants to be human and he wants
to find the permanence code, and you know that sort
of thing. The movie itself is fine, it's a fun
little romp. We go inside the grid, we're out of
the grid, we're in the grid.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
It's a good time.
Speaker 7 (26:26):
Visually, it's stunning. Greta Lee is an incredible actress. She's
in the Morning Show. Oh yes, yeah, she's having a
really big moment right now. She's amazing in this movie. Truly,
I think the best part. And if you want to
go see this movie, go and see it for the music.
The music is incredible. The nine Inch Nails team is
(26:47):
back and their music is incredible. They also have a
lot of Depeche Mode in there. Oh really, yes, And
I'm my little like emo geeky Heart was.
Speaker 3 (26:55):
Like, what what are we doing?
Speaker 6 (26:57):
Ye?
Speaker 7 (26:58):
Scene I did did my little twelve year old self
that wanted to be Emo so bad.
Speaker 3 (27:03):
But again, I mean to go back to the original
nineteen eighty two.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
That is a very clear decision to reloop all of
those people back into this trilogy.
Speaker 7 (27:12):
Yes, and there are there's a lot of references. If
you like to the original, you're going to enjoy that
section of this movie. I obviously you know, I don't
like to give too much away, but we do see
some of those that classic animation from the eighties movies.
You see the classic light style light cycle. He actually
gets on it and he goes classic. So the writing
(27:38):
is not great, but you don't go to a movie
like this to be wowed by the brilliant lines and writing.
You go because you want to see the visuals, you
want to hear the music, and you want that familiarity
of what we grew up watching. This movie kind of
checks all those boxes. You're not gonna be blown away.
It's not going to win an oscar, but it's fun movie.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
Channing Tatum's in a new movie called roof Man that
Channing Tatum is underrated, I think in terms of his
comedic ability, I totally.
Speaker 3 (28:06):
And this is mostly a comedy, but is it entirely
a comedy.
Speaker 7 (28:10):
It has comedic moments in it. I would say it's
more of like an action comedy. It has lighthearted moments
for sure. So this is based on a true crime
story about a man who I think it was like,
he committed like forty five robberies, burglaries, whatever. And he
sets up shop in a toy store and Kurs. Kirsten
(28:31):
Dunst is in it as well. They have a lot
of chemistry together on scene. It's on screen rather and
it's a fun movie. It's it's a really enjoyable movie,
and it's certainly very different from Tron. If this is
something you want to see and you like Channing Tatum,
he's so watchable, and you're right, I think he is
somewhat underrated. I mean he did all those magic mic
(28:52):
movies and I think people just thought, Ugh.
Speaker 3 (28:54):
He's just oh he can move like an animal.
Speaker 7 (28:58):
He's just TNA he can't really.
Speaker 2 (29:00):
Quick parenting question for you, how many times have you
had to listen to the Taylor Swift album from beginning
to end in the last week?
Speaker 7 (29:07):
Like probably, I'm probably out of the norm. And I'm
gonna be real honest with you here. My daughter does
not really care for Taylor Swift. I know it's I'm
an outlier and I'm not doing it to be one
of those people. It's like, I'm not like everyone else.
But she it's not her kind of music that she likes.
She likes indie rock. My husband was an indie rock guy,
and I think he kind of set her down that path.
(29:28):
I've listened to it just because I'm curious to know
whatever I's talking about that song?
Speaker 4 (29:32):
Would you know?
Speaker 7 (29:33):
It's about dirty, dirty stuff? But she's not really into it.
But I know that it is the number one movie
at the box office, the concert film Unbelievable. Isn't that wild?
It is the number one rock documentary or behind concert documentary.
That's what I'm trying to say. Ever made so ever?
Speaker 2 (29:54):
And I made a crack last I guess it was
earlier this week when we got the box office numbers
that she'd made over thirty million in a movie that
she didn't have to. I mean, it's all b roll. Basically,
they'd put together.
Speaker 7 (30:05):
Behind the scenes footage of her. Listen every she's having
that moment where everything she touches turns to gold.
Speaker 2 (30:11):
Good for her, but it reminded me of the time
that Jennifer Lopez tried to do a similar thing. I mean,
she obviously didn't do it because Taylor Swift did it
because hers came first.
Speaker 7 (30:21):
But are you talking about that documentary that came out
like I think it was on wasn't Hulu.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
Or whatever it was, but it was all supposed to
be behind the scenes and she was already getting a
bad rap because of the relationship with Ben Affley.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
It was so bizarre, that.
Speaker 7 (30:35):
Whole series that she made, and she called it like
an extended music video, but it also had behind the
scenes documentary footage. It was very strange and it was
all very human. I mean, you we talk about self
manstabatory stuff that Hollywood does that is at the top
of the list to be like, I'm going to make
a movie about me for no other reason other than
just to be like, look, how amazing my life is.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
Right.
Speaker 3 (30:57):
Nobody asked for it.
Speaker 2 (30:58):
Nobody asked for it to People ask for Taylor Swift's
version of it for sure, right because they want to
know what goes on in that woman's life.
Speaker 3 (31:04):
But yes, very few people asking about it.
Speaker 7 (31:06):
For j love, they did, And she does have a
movie out this weekend if you want to go see
this is a Kiss of the Spider Woman. Kiss of
the Spider Woman. That's her movie where I saw an
interview where she said she seems like a lot of
like Broadway style tunes in this. In the interview she says,
I really feel like I was meant to be a
Broadway singer, Like that was my true calling, so you
(31:26):
guys can go see this movie Kiss the Spider.
Speaker 3 (31:28):
Woman, decide that for yourself. Awesome, Heather, Thank you.
Speaker 7 (31:32):
Thank you by Beardo.
Speaker 3 (31:34):
Est week by Beard. I don't have a Beardo. I
couldn't grow a Beardo if I tried.
Speaker 7 (31:38):
I missed two guys too. I had so much to
talk about. We missed the Smashing Machine, all of that stuff.
So I have to force Michael Monks and Deborah to
