Yeah? I was wondering if I'm going to see my
mother when when I die and go to heaven, and
I'm wondering if she's going to go to heaven. She
didn't follow your teachings, but she followed the Tank commandments.
She was born nineteen nineteen. And I don't know, well,

my wife never followed your teachings.

What was she Jewish? Are you saying she's Jewish? Are
you saying that she just No, she didn't care much
for religion at all.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
She didn't really care much for her She put us
in when I was a little, big, little toddler, she
put us in the Bible, school and stuff. And I
was raised in the Nazarene Church.

But what makes you think that she didn't believe?

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Well, because I confronted her a couple of times, she goes,
I don't want to hear, I don't want to talk
about it.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Well, I don't want to talk about it. Doesn't mean
that she doesn't believe. She came right out and told
you she didn't believe. No, not really okay, Well, those
situations are between her and God. If she didn't proclaim
it to you, doesn't mean that she didn't proclaim it
to somebody, and doesn't mean that she didn't proclaim it
to God. It would be unusual to reject it in

such a way and then be open to God later.
But there there are moments within moments within moments that
God has with you that and everyone in humanity that
aren't the same.

I thought, if you didn't profess or proclaim that you're
born again Christian, you're not going to go to heaven.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Well, it certainly is imperative to confess your faith absolutely
with your you know, with your life and with your
mouth and all of those good things. But how that
takes place, how that takes place, well, there's a lot
of things your mom said that you didn't hear, I'm sure,
and so you can't really know in those moments of

(02:03):
what was going on with your mother. So it's best
to leave that to God and to trust that God
gave her ample amount of time to make things right
with him. Now, as far as you, if you are
a believer and you're a person of faith, and you're
going to heaven, and your mother is there. There's no

(02:25):
reason why you wouldn't recognize her, or recognize each other,
or spend time with each other. There there's nothing in
scriptures as otherwise. As a matter of fact, in Samuel,
it talks about David knowing that when his son died,
his infant son died, that he was going to recognize
him or see him in heaven. So also there's you know,

(02:52):
some people will argue, yeah, well, what about with a
resurrected body. After I resurrected, some people didn't recognize me.
That was a different state under the circumstances first glorified
body that anybody had ever seen. But there's nothing in
scripture that says that you won't recognize or have time
and spend with your family from here. However, that's not

what heaven is about.

You know.

Heaven is about spending time with God, the Father. That's
the focus. That's what it's going to be about. That's
where you know, all of everything that's happened on earth
is going to come to that one point where it
may sound dull to some, but it's going to be

(03:36):
about worshiping God and spending time with the Creator. That's
going to be the focus of heaven. So yeah, no
reason that you wouldn't see a loved one who is
a believer. As far as the confessing and all of
these things, these are all part of what it takes

(03:56):
for those that know. Romans one talks about the difference
between general revelation and special revelation, that special revelation is
scripture and someone coming and telling you something, whereas general
revelation is really in the creation itself. You look around,
you can see the fingerprint of God. The Library of
Congress and the different things they have on file and

(04:20):
saved a way to preserve, some of which are original
handwritten music from Beethoven and Mozart and the like. And
they were doing this big study on how you could
look at Beethoven and how you people tended to pick
Beethoven in modern times with a disheveled hair and kind

(04:40):
of slightly unkept and always in a hurry, kind of
in a rush, not didn't seem very focused. And sure enough,
when you see his handwritten music notes, there's ink, smudges
and blotches, and you can tell it's written very quickly,
and there's a lot of things crossed out, So obviously
the mind was being changed a lot, and that persona

is almost seen in those very things that he's writing.
And then when you look at Mozart said to be
much more together and focus. Knew what he want immediately
and went for it and put it onto paper. Everything
was pristine and specific with great focus. And it's like
looking at the art or the creation of someone. You

can see the artist in there. You have to be
able to so you can see the creator in there.
And likewise, if you are attentive to the things of
this world and you look around at creation, you can
see the hand of God in creation as well. You
can see those things. And that's a different type of
realization than somebody standing on a mountaintop saying I believe

in Jesus Christ, or they wear, you know, a special
bumper sticker or a hat or what have you. It's
not just about those things. It's about professing with your
heart as well that Jesus's God and following me. That's
the key, and allowing the will of God to lead

(06:05):
your life. The confession is important. But if you, you know,
leave your wedding ring at home, it doesn't mean you
don't love your spouse. And it certainly doesn't mean that
you're not married. That's part of the whole process of
you know, that outward expression of that inward hope, that

inward goal, and those are two very different things and
they should not be confused as being one and the same.
They're part of it, but it's it's different. Kyle, Welcome

Question about the Sabbath. Now, you were a Jew, I'm
assuming grew up in a Jewish area to his family.

Is that correct?

Uh so the Jewish Sabbath is Friday sundown to Saturday sundown.

Yes.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
Still we're told in the tour it's not that we're
not to work or have other people work or spend money.

On the Sabbath.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
But typically what people do after church they go out,
They go out and work in the yards, they go
out and eat. Is that breaking the Sabbath?

Speaker 1 (07:20):
No, the Sabbath is one of those things that people
wrestle with because of its current context is different. Christians
don't worship on the Sabbath anymore. They worship on the
Lord's Day, which is Sunday. Sabbath still is on Saturday,
and really this rest in this concept was for the
Jewish people of the time. The Sabbath does not stand

in the same way in the same sense. That's why,
if you recall, it's the one commandment that I don't
quote over and over again. You can see in Colossians two,
sixteen and seventeen that things have changed and that people
were modern day Christians at the time were having church
and coming together on many different days. The important thing

is to have time of rest and worship, and it's
much different. The days were much longer than too. It
wasn't like an eight hour work day. They were much
longer workdays. There's a lot that has changed that allows
for more rest or more normal rest that didn't exist

Hi, thank you for taking my call, my pleasure. I
was just curious, why does Easter fall on such different times,
Like sometimes it's the end of March and then it's
the end of April.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
Yeah, it's an odd one, isn't it.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Okay, so well, here's here's what's known from scripture. You
have the four Gospels make it very clear that I
was crucified in conjunction with the Jewish Passover. Right, You've
got Matthew talks about this, Mark talks about it, Luke
talks about it, and so does John. The gospels also
make it clear that I was raised from the dead
three days later on the first day of the week. Matthew, Mark, Luke,

(09:09):
and John also talk about that. So that's the first
notion of what's taking place now. As far as it's
being celebrated, that's of great importance, and so Christians wanted
to make a big deal about it. It's obviously an
important day. It's the most pivotal part of Christianity is
the resurrection. So church history comes around and tries to

(09:32):
make a date and tons of debate starts taking place
as to when Easter is going to be observed. Even
to this day, even with as crazy as that sounds,
that it keeps changing around that the Eastern Orthodox Church
still celebrates it differently and sometimes on the same date,

(09:53):
sometimes differently. So basically, what it comes down to, and
it's an incredibly long answer that I'm trying to make short,
is that it comes down to different calendars, usage of
different calendars based on the moon, full moon, and all
of these things. It just depends on which calendar is
being used. And then you get certain councils that come

(10:15):
in throughout the centuries that say, Okay, this is when
we're going to do it, and it's going to be
based on this calendar, and this is when we're going
to do it, and it's based on this calendar, and
it kind of just makes a mess of it all.
So you get one going by the Gregorian calendar and
other going by the Julian calendar. There was some usage

(10:35):
early on of the Hebrew calendar. There's some that state
that the Paschal full moon is the actual date used,
and that's a whole different measurement, and so it just
gets kind of convoluted and twisted and bounces around. Is
the short answer is it bounces around based on the
calendar that's being used, and they really tried to establish

(10:58):
early on. Some of the the movement about the date
was dealing with the early Church trying to christianize certain
pagan festivals. So early on it was kind of following
the first full moon after the vernal or the spring equinox,
and then after three twenty five a d that changed,

(11:20):
and there's it's just a whole bunch of stuff. It
talk about church bureaucracy, just a lot of stuff that
came in, and so it bounces around. So having said
all that, the most important part is that it's celebrated,
not exactly which day or anything like that. The only
thing that stays the same is that it's going to

(11:40):
be celebrated on the Lord's Day on a Sunday, and
that's that's the most important part. So I know, it
gets convoluted and confusing, and it's one of those things
that it's it's been made unnecessarily convoluted and confusing. It
doesn't need to be that bad, but you know, you

put people in charge sometimes of doing a simple task
and they make it even more complicated. Go figure, Leanne.

Hi, Jesus, I have a situation that has happened to
me several times, and I want to know if I'm
handling it in the proper way. What it is is,
sometimes when I'm praying to you and I'm giving thanks,
the most blasphemous thoughts will come into my mind as
if to interrupt me from praying to you, you know,

(12:40):
and giving my thanks. Sure, and I'm you know, I
am God fearings and I know that we have to
account for everything. So that's what makes me even more uneasy.
And what I what I have done, and I don't
know if I'm doing the right thing, is I will
in your name. I will rebuke those abel thoughts and
I cast them out in your name, and I ask

(13:04):
for forgiveness. And I ask that because I don't see
those thoughts are mine. And it kind of scares me.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
Well, sounds good to me. Sounds like you're covering your bases.
And of course, of course the enemy is like a
child and wanting to you know, I'm not touching you.
I'm not touching you. I'm not touching you, and just
a distraction throughout these you know, the entirety of it.
Of course, it's just.

Speaker 6 (13:28):
So horrible, and I mean it gives me a sick feeling.
But I, like you say, I'm trying to do the
best I can because I don't know where those thoughts
are coming from. I mean I have there's absolutely no
reason for those things to come up, because you have
blessed me in so many ways. It's got me through
so much. I thank God for you.

You know, Well, there's a lot. There's a lot of
things in this world, and the brain is a bit
of a dumping ground, and scripture talks about girding it
and taking control of it. And you know, there's times
you know of good godly meditation too, not the metaphysical
garbage or any of those things, but the good godly

(14:08):
meditation about thinking about the things of God and spending
time with God being quiet. You know, there's a scripture
that says to be still and know that I am God,
and to have these times of kind of cleansing, and
when you go into your little prayer closet, you know,
not physically but emotionally, and you spend that time with
God and spiritually you're connecting with God, and those things

(14:29):
pop in. It's just it's just garbage. It's like spiritual
static or snow like on the TV. Just stuff's going
to come in and out, and you know, you smile
and praise God through it and continue. God's hearing what
you have to say. And that's just part of humanity
and the enemy poking around and the enemy can't stand

(14:51):
when you pray, can't stand it.

Speaker 6 (14:54):
You're absolutely right, because it's happened. It's like the more
loving I am and expressing my prayer to you, the
more it seems to happen.

Speaker 7 (15:02):
And it's it's awful.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
Oh it's a if you look at two small children
that are siblings, and if one's getting love from a parent,
oh goodness, and you see that kind of they come
over and they'll push or they're pinch or they'll start
doing something to get attention.

Exactly.

It's like, and I know it that I feel that
the enemy is so jealous of you.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
Absolutely absolutely, and that's not it's not going to win
him any points. And he tries to confuse you and
to get those those feelings and you're the pity of
your tummy, and you know you need to put that
aside and not give him any of that power.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
It's exactly.

Speaker 6 (15:38):
And I say, I say, all evil thoughts are all
negative thoughts that are that are not in obedience to Christ.

Speaker 4 (15:44):
I cast out.

Speaker 6 (15:46):
Yeah, okay, so we want to make sure, like I said,
I'm God's fearing and I wouldn't want, you know, to
be sent to eternal.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
You know, it's not like a technicality everybody makes, uh,
the reward of or the so called punishment of hell
to be a technicality as if you know, you serve
some anal retentive God who's got a list of shoulds
and should not and it's just like, sorry, you know,
this is the way it's supposed to be done. And

(16:16):
it's not really a fair assessment of how God works.
It's not about knowing or not knowing, or making mistakes
or any of these things. It's about open rebellion and
rejection of the will of God. And they're two different things.
And you know there's going to be stuff that slips
in your life, or you know, things that are kind
of trying to knock you off your spiritual horse, and

(16:37):
you just need to hold on and praise God through
the entirety of it. And there's nothing the devil hates
more than you when you're steadfast. Scripture says, resists the
devil and he shall flee. And part of that resisting
is just focusing on God all the more, focusing on
God as not to get you know, wept away into

(17:02):
you know, the tricks of the enemy trying to get
your attention in all those things. Just stay focused, Stay focused,

I'm going to find I was I'm gonna say a
few things, and then I'll just take my answer out there,
if you don't mind. Sure, I was reading in Revelations
about the Great Harlot and she was drunk with the
blood of the saints, and then reading about false prophets,
one of which you are because you are not Jesus Christ,

(17:39):
and I think misleading people to even portray the your
Jesus Christ. The Bible clearly states, so we're stone false prophets,
and you coming in saying that you're Jesus Christ and
even portraying them, I think it is a great sin.
I'd like to hear your answer to that in public.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
Sure, I've said it many, many times. This is a
wonderful place for it. Of course, Rick is similar fellow
who stands up in the middle of a play and says,
wait a second, these aren't big cats. These are human
beings pretending to be cats, which makes it a little
less fun for everyone else. But I will tell you

(18:16):
answering the question, that there are many people that portray,
with good reason and good intent others throughout history to
put flesh on the bones of those that a lot
of people don't understand. I'm thinking of maybe a history
teacher that dresses up like Abe Lincoln or Ben Franken

(18:38):
to help someone understand the true nature of these individuals.
If it makes you feel better. There are some that
may describe this type of thing, he says with a
wink as responding to the questions of what would Jesus do?
Maybe that might help you a little. But I will

(19:01):
tell you this, there is no reason ever to lie
to get on the air. If you have a legitimate question,
then ask it, or Heaven forbid, sit behind that magic
box that glows every night in that bedroom that you
call a computer and google it. But don't stand on

(19:25):
a soapbox thinking that you're better than everyone else who
actually understands the process and gets it in totality and
plays along that somehow you're going to break some new
information blasphemous, not even close wouldn't participate in it if
it was a different way of sharing old important information.

I feel led to talk about this right now, and
I will get to more of your calls. But in Matthew,
this is one of those verses that tends to come up.
Who a guest comes up when people talk about this
show and others about the possibility of false Christs, and

scripture does warn that there will be those that come
saying that they are the Christ. And I just want
to tell you that that is not that's not someone
portraying Christ. It's not somebody in a movie, in a play,

(20:45):
anything like that, or heaven forbid a radio show that
is really talking about someone saying that person Jesus from
Nazareth that you heard about is not the Messiah. I am.
I'm now Bill the Christ. That's a different situation. That's

(21:07):
about someone trying to steal the Christ, Moniker. There were
many people in my day that walked around saying the
same thing. That's why a lot of people didn't believe me,
because on every street corner you had someone else proclaiming
to be God for whatever reason. Oh I could do this,

(21:31):
or I can do that. That's why the miracles were
so important in context. Even though there were some that
were trying to mimic miracles as well, and we're doing
a good job of it. Some miracles weren't just party favors.
They weren't something just to get attention. They were to
solidify what I was trying to teach. So those that
worry about, Oh, there's going to be false Christ. It's

(21:52):
going to be different. It's going to be someone claiming
that they really are the Christ and that I was
just a manifestation at the time or something like that,
and twisting and turning it all around completely different. But
you know what, show yourself approved study a little bit,
see where there's actually a threat. Christians can be a

(22:13):
fascinating group of people. The only people on the planet
that tend to shoot. They're wounded and really causes for
a problem when you're trying to defend yourself against a
decaying world that wants nothing more than Christianity to lose.

(22:34):
And if that's their will, fine, but for the love
of all that is good in Heaven, don't help them out.

First of all, I want to tell you, I'd like

I wanted to ask you when I got saved, it
was a euphoric experience. I ended up I got saved
on Battery Street. You know that makes me feel You've
got a sense of humor there. And also, uh then

(23:36):
then at the at the time, my friend was was
witnessing to me, and I finally, you know, gave my
my heart over and she went running down this hill
and I went running down to and it just had
this total euphoric feeling. And I asked her what it was,
and she said it was God's love. And I've talked

(23:59):
to people be before that have said they never had
any kind of feeling like that, so they kind of
discounted it, and so it was just an emotional whatever,
And I truly think it was it was, you know,
God opening up my heart and coming in, and that

(24:20):
it was a supernatural experience.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
What do you think it could very well be. One
thing that we will never ever do on this show
is argue someone's experience. You just can't. You were there,
We weren't, and there's no way to really wrestle around that. However,
there are some things, some great tools that I like
people to use when it comes to these things. Feelings
can Feelings can really mislead you, and so they should

(24:48):
only be used objective and subjective feelings should only be
used together. And that is to say, as my producer
Neil speaking of well, we won't say the devil, but
speaking of Neil, he often jokes about how the feeling
he gets when he falls in love, although he won't
be doing that anymore, being buried at all, but the

(25:09):
feeling he gets falling in love is similar to the
feeling he gets when he seesick clammy hands and the
queasy stomach and all those things. So you have to
look at the situation. Is he sitting across the table
from his beautiful wife, then it's love. Is he sitting
across a boat, a fishing boat with a bunch of
sweaty guys, Probably not love. So you can balance out

(25:33):
your experiences by way of those things going on that
surround you as well. Absolutely those things take place that
they do take place, and there are euphoric feelings, and
there are very wonderful experiences that go with some people
and their faith. But also know this, like a dog

(25:54):
whistle or certain sounds, there are some people that are
more sensitive to them than others, and there are some
people who it is not in their makeup to really
kind of experience those things. They may they may much
later in life, or they may for certain specific reasons,
but you never ever know, and you might just be

(26:15):
someone who's a little more open to those things and
a little more susceptible. But it doesn't make it wrong
or false or any of those things. Don't let someone
try and take it away from you either. There are
many experiences in scripture where people had euphoric feelings, but
even the enemy, the devil himself, is a counterfeit and

(26:36):
can recreate these types of things. So never use just
the feeling to be the judgment of if you're doing
something good or doing something bad, or if it's of God,
if it's not of God. It needs to be surrounded
by other things. And the description you gave me of
when that feeling or that euphoric onset came about sounds
like the perfect case for a God given experience, doesn't it. Yeah,

(27:01):
it does. It feels like that that's the setting in
which God would use something like that. Now I hear,
you know, other things at times where people say, oh,
but I did this in that, and you go, that
has nothing to do with God. As a matter of fact,
there are parts of scripture that denounced that very uh,
you know, situation, And yet you're trying to tell me
that it's of God. Or someone says that they were

(27:22):
visited by an angel, yet that angel has nothing to
say except things that are completely antithetical to scripture. Then
you can pretty much throw it away and throw the
experience away. But what you describe sounds to me like
good old God touching your heart.
